I’m going to go offline for a little while
TW: Death of a family member
So. My maternal granddad passed away rather suddenly today. He was my last remaining grandparent since my paternal grandmother also died this year, back in March.
Unsurprisingly, I’m not really in the right headspace to be social and active online at the moment, so I’m going to take a bit of a break. I’ve got a queue lined up here on Tumblr and I’ll probably still be writing and drawing — and will most likely post whatever I finish — but I won’t be replying to comments or asks as quickly or as frequently as I normally would.
I will be fine, don’t worry — this is far from my first rodeo when it comes to grief and dealing with its aftermath. I just heal best if I’m allowed time and room to breathe (or complete solitude, even), since that helps me work through my thoughts and feelings.
So yeah. I can’t say how long I’ll be gone, but I’ll probably check in from time to time if I have the energy for it. So there might pop up a post or a reply here and there, but they’ll be sporadic at best. I’ll return to the more social aspects of online life when I’m ready.
You all make sure to take care of yourself in the meantime and I’ll hopefully talk to you all again in a not-too-distant future. Love you all <3
Fun fact: That keen eye for detail, problem-solving, and ability to build intricate things out of practically nothing that you all love in my fanfics? That comes from my granddad. Though he applied it to his work as a self-taught mechanical engineer, building machines, factory equipment, and various tools without blueprints — sometimes based on nothing but a verbal description of what the machine was supposed to do. And his (very much illegal) homemade hunting rifles. That he used to shoot animals out of the kitchen window of his little cottage in the woods — that he of course modified to have a hole just wide enough for the barrel of the rifle without having to also open the window in question, since that let in too much cold air in winter and he of course couldn’t have that.
My granddad was an absolute hoot — and possibly also a danger to society.
But I guess a lot of brilliant people fall into that category.

Okay but why I am seeing people on TikTok say the show is ruining aemonds character??? People insist they’re making him “too dark” or “too evil”. Like have we been watching the same man? The same man who held a grudge with a child for years and ultimately killed him (albeit he lost control of vhagar but he didn’t have to chase him on his much bigger dragon), who happily calls rhaenyras kids bastards and taunts them about it damn well knowing they could all get killed for treason. The same man who in the books slaughtered everyone in Haarenhal simply because he was angry. The same man who took a woman against her will and made her his whore. Aemond as a character is temperamental and chooses violence at any minor inconvenience, but also deep down is an angry resentful boy who was bullied relentlessly. So are we really that surprised he purposely tried to kill Aegon? Or that he burned a whole city down because he was angry? Or that he manhandled Haelena because she wouldn’t do as he wanted? Liking a character is one thing, but being in denial about them being a villain is delusional. Aemond isn’t a good guy, he never has been and never will be. That we want to think he is, that’s an entirely different matter. Now unless I’m watching the show with my ass, Aemond has always been this man, it’s just that now he has the power to do as pleases without repercussions. But he’s literally known as the cruel prince and a kinslayer. Those aren’t the qualities of an innocent man. The show isn’t ruining his character by taking him too far, they’re simply showing what he’s capable of now that he can.
Edit: I forgot to mention that Ewan literally said in an interview aemond is a boy who would burn down a village just to feel its warmth. He always says aemond just needs to chill out. If Ewan himself who is so in tune and is so protective of aemond says these things, we can’t we just accept we like a bad guy? It’s not the end of the world.

Keyframes Devlog #1
Long time no talk! (Or "Hey!" If this is the first time you're seeing a dev log from me ^^)
It’s already been a couple of months since we released a snippet of Keyframes for the Otome Jam and with it has been a lot of changes. Which includes something of a bad news. Instead of as soon as possible, players can expect the extended demo to be finished around Spring of next year. It’s not our favorite news to share, but after the jam I want to be sure that whatever we output is as close to polished as can be! Rest assured, production for the rest of the Spring Demo is still on-going but I’m currently funding the development myself so I hope you’ll be patient as we work on the project!
(Keep reading for some snippets, y'all!)
For now, I’m happy to report on the progress we’re making on our BGs! Game jams are not to be taken lightly— consider it a lesson learned haha— and because of the high-paced event there were some discrepancies with the game’s art style. As such, one of our goals with the extended demo is to update the style so that they’re all consistent! Some of the scenes are still a work in progress but as thanks for your patience, here’s some BG art for Keyframes!
Peep the study room on campus, a hot spot in a downtown area, as well as the inside of an adorable shop— all of which you can visit in the extended demo! One BG might look familiar if you played the current demo-- It's Reynah's backyard! Her space has been updated for the art style and to better tell the story, but we hope it still gives off sweet and cozy party vibes!
A lot of new hands have joined the project to help make this possible so please join me in a round of applause to roisale (who worked on the downtown related art), inkdem (the study room) and robin (Reynah's backyard) for their hard work! Bit by bit, the project's coming to life with their help so check out their work and say thank youuuuu <3
I’ll make another update post when we’ve made more progress on Keyframes, but for now: welcome to the game’s tumblr! Feel free to submit any questions you have about Keyframes or the cast! I’m happy to answer your curious thoughts if there are any. ^^ Thank you for reading up to here, that’s all from me and the team for now. Till next time!

Earth is a terrestrial planet, despite 70% of it's surface being covered in water. It has a molten iron core, and has existed for about 4.5 billion years. It's the third planet out from it's star (a yellow dwarf).
The Cartologist: Oooh, interesting, is there more?
The Cartologist: Oh, is that what the song about cheese comes from?
The Coordinator: Yes, mortal planets that have had life for a long time do tend to experience multiple extinction events, which is one of the reasons it is important we tend to our duties.

there's a very specific kind of vibe that comes with living with your friends in final year that it just does not have in first year or even second year. like as a fresher it's usually the first time any of you have lived away from home let alone with SO MANY people your age and it's terrifying and exciting and randomised to boot so it's generally carnage for a whole year in the best and worst ways, and then second year you pick who you're living with and it feels like for the first time you're doing this adult thing PROPERLY. you have a place of your own now. these are the people you've chosen to live with. studying gets serious etc. but it's still fresh. it's still new. you still don't know how to navigate it. but final year? final year is when you actually get it right. you know how to manage your time better. you know what works for you and what doesn't. studying is the main focus and you've been out in the world for three years now and it's not loud and boisterous like it was in first year and you're not exciteable and awkward like you were in second year. you're comfortable. every single one of my flatmates has their own friend group and we mainly keep to our own social circles, but we'll still meet each other back at the house after a night out and sit in the kitchen or my room to do the debrief. sometimes i'll go days not seeing either of them despite sharing a house but every now and then someone will softly call up the stairs that 'the heating's on!' or one of us will sneeze and the other two will yell 'bless you!' through the walls. the lack of interaction isn't interpreted as dislike in ways it would have been even last year, because we're all just old enough to be past that now and settled enough in our friendship not to worry about it. idk. uni is very loud and unsettling a lot of the time so it's been really sweet to see how almost boringly comfortable final year is.

so there was this pub, the crooked house or the siden house, where im from that was kinda famous for being the "wonkiest pub in britain". its been there since 1765 (it was originally a farmhouse) and let me tell you, the inside was some of the coolest shit ive seen. it was fucking bostin.
but four days ago, it burnt down. now its nothing but rubble, and its being treated as an arson for the investigation.
and just,,, im so gutted. i have that kind of sadness where you feel empty inside because this was our pub. we're an impoverished area and a lot of our country laughs at us for the way we speak, but we're proud of our local culture and history.
honestly the siden house represented us; we're a little wonky bunch with our dialect the most close to old english and banding together like misfits in a movie.
but now its just gone. its one of the few tranklements of our history we get to hold and its just fucking gone, at someones hand. it was probably new developer who just bought it because its the cheapest way to clear a lot.
and i ay even angry at whoever it was, im just sad. as a brit, i hold no pride for my country and the history of it. but i am a proud yam yam, and right now, it just hurts.
