You know what I did not expect to be writing when I sat down to work on a Maribat fic? Several paragraphs of Clark and Kara bonding over Kara's trauma. You know what I wrote tonight?

Supergirl sighed and took a sip of her root beer float. Kal was right, it really was a fantastic float. After a moment, she looked over at him, looking more vulnerable than she had the first time she realized that he was the little baby she'd been sent to protect all those years ago, when she told him she felt like a complete failure. "You know how I said I kind of sort of have a maybe girlfriend?" "Mm," Kal said. "Bruce's new kid, right? The one you were dancing with at the gala?" "Someone tried to assassinate her today." "What?!" Superman dropped his drink, then quickly flew down to catch it. "Well, my goodness, Kara, why didn't you head down to Gotham as soon as we finished up here?" "I will," she said. "I will. I just... I need to calm my nerves first. Plus, she's still dealing with the investigation right now, I'm listening in. We were going to go out flying tonight, but now, even if I showed up in uniform with half the Justice League with me, I doubt Batman would let her out of the house without a security detail. Not until they catch whoever's behind it." Superman grimaced. "You're not wrong," he said. "I'll see what I can do to help. I may not be the World's Greatest Detective, but I do all right." Kara let out a choking sound, somewhere between a laugh and a sob. "You do," she said. "You know... I never really talk about your parents, but they would have been so proud of you, Kal-El." "I try to do Ma and Pa proud," he said, shrugging. "I'm not talking about the Kents," Kara said. "I know," he replied, "but they are my parents, at least as much as Jor-El and Lara." "That's..." Kara grinned. "That's so human of you. It's one of the best things about this world we were sent to. None of the 'Noble House of El' stuff. Rao, by the time I got here, I was so terrified of failing Jor-El and Lara, especially Lara. And here you were, all grown up, wearing the crest of the House of El and being every bit the idealist Lara was and even more steadfast than Jor-El. If that's the influence of Jonathan and Martha Kent, then I understand why you're so proud of your Earth name." She sighed. "Don't get me wrong, I love Eliza and Jeremiah, but I still... I don't know. When I think 'parents' I think of Zor-El and Alura and all of their expectations. The Danvers are like... the cool aunt and uncle. They let me stay up past sunset, even!" "I thought I was the cool uncle," Kal said with a grin. "Also, your parents made you go to bed at sunset?" "You're my baby cousin and don't you forget it," Kara said, returning the grin. "And no, not really, I just... they were very strict. I was thirteen when they put me in that pod and sent me after you, and they put the weight of the world on my shoulders. You, at least, got to choose to shoulder that weight. I got here, and you were all grown up without me and I was already a failure before I even started." "Hey," Kal - no, Clark - said. "You're not a failure. Kara, you're not. You're an incredible woman, and I am proud to call you family." He slapped his thighs and shifted from his floating/sitting position to a standing one, as though he were standing up from her bedside. "That's it," he said. "We're heading to Gotham. I want to meet this young woman you're 'kind of sort of' dating, and see if she's good enough for my favorite babysitter."

Miraculous Fanfic Recs for ongoing Miraculous fics

So I got an ask requesting me to give some ML fic recs, so I decided to focus on some ongoing Miraculous fics! All of these have updated within the past two months. Feel free to tag anyone who I didn't know the tumblr username of!

Boulangerella by @aidanchaser

Once upon a time, magic was wild. The two princes of the kingdom have been tasked with choosing their brides by the end of their 21st birthday celebrations. Crown Prince Adrien Agreste will have to choose between a woman who can protect his kingdom, a woman offering the power to wake his sleeping mother, and the woman he has loved and admired for the past year. Then there's also the seamstress that he is suddenly falling for. By the time he realizes he doesn't have the power to choose at all, it may be too late.

Kind of a Medieval Fantasy AU here, though with more resemblance to regular Miraculous than I normally expect with such AUs. Kwamis are actually fae, but aside from needing some sort of "deal" in order for humans to draw out their power, they function mostly the same, with Ladybug and Chat Noir being activated in order to help fight against Hawk Moth, even.

Oh yeah, this fic was written pre-S4, so there's some oddities because of that, like Felix actually having a good father, for instance. Adrien and Felix are both still sentimonsters though.

Lows And Highs (Of Adrien Agreste) by @blackcatsbutterflies

Adrien Agreste- Teenage supermodel, son of Gabriel Agreste, hero of Paris... Type One Diabetic. When Adrien is diagnosed with a chronic illness, he goes through the mental struggles of dealing with this new life. Nothing will ever be the same again, and if anyone were to find out, he'd be humiliated. The world would find him repulsing. Who would want to love someone who was constantly giving themselves shots? Marinette would. (Based off my real life, when I was diagnosed at 13 years old.) TW: Mentions of drugs (no one does them) and the following stuff that will appear in chapters: - Needles - Blood - Paralysis - Seizures - Fainting

Oh man this one is a real treat! I know some basic stuff about diabetes, but not so much what people's day-to-day lives are like, so it was interesting watching Adrien go through this, what he has to do nowadays in order to, well, live. And since he only just got diagnosed, he's going through major lifestyle changes which is pretty overwhelming, and he's feeling pretty awful about it because well, this is gonna hit hard. Though thankfully, Marinette is able to help quite a bit.

Ladybug is the Miraculous Hero of Gallia. She has spent the past number of years fighting the minions of the tyrant Hawk Moth, only for the war to come to an abrupt end. News reveals that Hawk Moth was brutally slain by his own champion and captain of his own elite guard - the infamous knight Chat Blanc, known to wield pure destructon itself. With the disintegration of Hawk Moth's army, Chat Blanc is captured and imprisoned until his certain execution. Being a beloved hero and instrumental in the realm's defences during the war, Ladybug is offered a reward of her choosing. Instead of choosing a title or luxuries as expected she chooses...custody of Chat Blanc??? A new threat is rising in the chasm Hawk Moth left behind, and Ladybug believes Chat Blanc's knowledge and skill will be vital in what's to come. And perhaps he could also answer some questions that have plagued her since even before the war with Hawk Moth began..

This fic is awesome so far, I adore a good enemies AU and Fantasy AU, so both of them together is great! There's a lot we don't know yet, like the specifics of how akumas work in this AU, but I'm eager to know more. Just as Ladybug's eager to try to find out what happened to an old childhood friend of hers who vanished around the time Hawk Moth rose to power...

Summary for "Found", the first multichapter installment in the series:

Chat Noir and Ladybug need to tie up some loose ends. Unfortunately, one of those ends is Felix.

I've really been enjoying my time with this series, and if you like Felix-focused fics, you might too! In this universe, Nooroo and Duusu actually used to play with Felix and Adrien when they were little, but Gabriel made Adrien forget that happened - Gabriel and Emilie edited out a lot of little inconvenient things from Adrien's memory, as it turns out.

Anyway, we mostly follow Felix post-Strike Back as he figures out what to do now that he has the Peacock Miraculous. The heroes bursting in and confronting him about it kinda forces his hand.

He goes through a lot of character development here, which I adore, especially when it comes to realizing "oh crap, I sold out living beings to someone who I knew would mistreat them." This series tackled that subject better than any other fanfic I've seen, with Felix directly helping to recover the Miraculous and free the kwami, feelings guilty upon realizing how badly Gabriel had hurt them, and having to deal with a lot of the kwami not liking or trusting him for very justifiable reasons - though they ARE willing to understand why he did what he did.

Kintsugi - The Beauty in Broken Things by @xaran-alamas

When freed from Mayura's control, and given a chance at a normal life, the Sentimonster clone of Ladybug must learn what it is to be not only a hero, but also a human being, and part of a family. Meanwhile Marinette needs to figure out what to do with a hyper-energetic Kwami with a broken Miraculous. Updates Sundays and Wednesdays

I've always loved Sentibug Lives AUs (as you might guess from my having written two fics where she gets to stick around), and this is one of the best ones I've seen, and certainly the longest.

I love how we get to follow Centi (as she names herself) as she tries to figure out what to do now that she exists and is likely to stay that way, and as she tries to cope with the knowledge that her creator controlled her and when she disobeyed, tried to kill her. She's a nicely developed OC, her feelings are really delved into!

Sabine’s eyes widened as she took in the results of the test in her hand. Her gaze flashed back up to Marinette’s. “You’re pregnant.” And it wasn’t a question, but it was enough to send Marinette into devastated tears once again. Her mother pulled her back into the hug and just held her. “It’s going to be okay.”

Teen pregnancy fic here, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea. I love how everyone comes together to help figure out what to do and to offer support - and not just to Marinette either, since Adrien's about to be a father as well.

I love Enemies AU, as I've already mentioned. This is a more unusual one, with MARINETTE being the one on Hawk Moth's side instead of Adrien. I love how Rosie painstakingly weaves together Gabriel's manipulation and lies so you could actually believe that Marinette might be willing to help him - maybe not very enthusiastically, but believing that it's the best option she has. It's pretty impressive!

Fair warning, this is an M-rated fic, and it earns that M rating, given it has several extensive sex scenes.

Anyway, I love a good fairy tale AU, and this is one of the better ones I've seen. I love how it's clearly inspired by Beauty and the Beast, but doesn't constrain itself by it. Adrien is not a jerk nor does he capture Marinette. Instead he randomly changes into a Werecat and is abandoned by his family, mistaken for a lumbering beast by the townsfolk, left alone for a year - until Marinette comes to visit the Agreste mansion, the home of her friend who just suddenly left one day, and she sees him in his werecat form...

I love this, Marinette is drawn to Chat, even with him looking pretty terrifying. Adrien's pretty insecure about his whole situation, but slowly opens up as he gets to reconnect with Marinette.

14. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? A better question is what isn't a WIP I'll never finish??? I have dozens 😭 Though one that stands out is an old Frozen fic I outlined in I think 2018(?). The premise is a canon divergence where Anna's death is faked when they're children and she's raised in the village instead of in the castle. There are two full acts that are just set up for a The Prince And Me/Princess Diaries-esque rom-com between suddenly-a-princess Anna and just-a-normal-guy Kristoff.

The outline on its own is about 8k words, and frankly I've considered editing and posting the outline itself before because it's detailed enough. This fic is actually a drabble I wrote to take place within my AU, but it reads canon compliant enough of its own so I posted it.

15. What are your writing strengths? Ideas. I am always getting new plot bunnies, always getting excited about the next great idea, always thinking about new aspects of these worlds and characters I want to explore.

16. What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogue and volume. That's why I write so many descriptive, very short fics XD

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I'd only do it in a language I've studied for a couple years, and even then I would want a native speaker to read over it for me. But it hasn't come up yet?

I do really like Superbat or Star Trek fics where the author sparingly includes Kryptonian / Klingon / Vulcan with a translation at the end.

18. First fandom you wrote for? My Little Pony, or maybe Percy Jackson?? I'm too scared to check my old accounts to see which came first, if I ever even posted the fics I remember writing then at all.

19. Favorite fic you’ve written? building glass castles for sure!!! I love the atmosphere in it, and the monologue from Skull. That monologue came to me in the middle of the night once, so I had to type it up immediately and build the fic around it later.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Alya was born in the Périgord (in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region) but doesn't remember much of her life there because her parents moved to the Réunion when she was about two or three years old. Both her parents had got a job there: sous-chef in a prized restaurant for her mother and animal-care in a zoo for her father. Alya had a good life there, but she sometimes felt limited, she already had some ambitions and dreamt of going to live in a big city, so she was very excited when announced they might move to Paris when she turned 13.

17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favourite that you're fine with?

I would say Alya/Zoé. They have a good potential and might be a very cute pairing but it's not *the* pairing I'd go and search plenty of art and fics for.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

The mom-friend who's a bit too noisy for her own good! xD

Now, I still love Alya but just like many (if not all) characters of the series, she suffers from the writing and thus they made her do and say things that lead to many salt stories (sometimes justified, sadly). Otherwise, I really love how supportive she is of Marinette and that she's the first to learn the latter is Ladybug! The Paris Special is *everything* I wish to see of Alya and her relationship with Marinette, we really to see her more like this!!

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Ginny from "The Order of the Phoenix"!! Ginny was so good in this book! But if I really had to pick only one thing, I'd say the fact that she stood up for Luna, kicked her bullies away with some good (but not harmful) spells and befriended Luna! :'D

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I really like it when they show Ginny standing up for anyone and defending people she loves, especially Luna, Ron and Neville in a "Though she be but little she is fierce" way. And when she is shown having girl friends, not just boys.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Ginny helped a lot the twins find some ideas and concepts for the "women's section" of their shop. At first, her reaction was:

"Why would you even want to create a 'women's section' for your shop?! For pranks?? Are we really so alien to you, boys? -_- "

She wasn't totally sold by their arguments, but she still gave them some ideas and concepts to work with because she liked thinking of them. She was thrilled when she saw the Pigmy Puffs!

15. What's your favourite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

Ginny/Luna, my beloved! <3 Their relationship is so sweet, I wish we had seen more of it! I love them both as best friends and lovers!

I confess: I like Harry/Ginny, but not the way "The Half-Blood Prince" introduced it (sighs). I started entertaining the idea at the end of Book 5 (I was hesitating between her and Luna with whom Harry would be paired up), but I was disappointed by the progression :'(

for frame of reference it was 2016 (i think? idk during that first big hiatus) when i made this oc which probably explains a lot.

anyway her name is clara agreste—her and adrien as cousins, him being about a year or two older. clara's mom is gabriel agreste's older sister. the premise of the fic i started but never finished was that clara is sent to paris for the summer because her mom has to travel out of the country for work. however, something happens to prevent clara's mom from returning for the foreseeable future so clara is stuck in paris.

at some point clara ends up with a jaguar miraculous, which was meant to represent balance between the ladybug and black cat. or something. idk it's cat with spots, 13 year old me thought they were clever. clara (can't remember if i ever settled on an alias for her) was basically ladybug and chat noir's sidekick since she got her miraculous after their debut as heroes. honestly though the superhero thing took a backseat to more important stuff, such as The Agreste Family Drama.

adrien is generally allowed out more if clara is with him, so she starts tagging along when he hangs out with his friends. she's a year younger than them and therefore the baby of the group. i remember there being a running joke about adrien and nino coparenting?? idk if this is a universal experience or if my friend group at the time was just weird but it was like an established thing that if you had a friend a few years younger than you, that was your Infant Child now. anyway. clara is generally too shy and introverted to make friends on her own, so it works out.

clara’s hobbies include gymnastics and nail art. there are regulations about what gymnasts can do with their nails and adrien can’t have painted nails in his photo shoots, so marinette, alya and nino let her practice on them.

at some point plagg and the jaguar kwami that i never named run into each other in the agreste mansion at night but decide they aren’t telling their respective humans shit, just to see how long it’ll take for adrien and clara to figure it out. they do not figure it out.

that’s basically all i got??

i have more thoughts on how i’d update her character and what i would change, but i figured i’d keep this faithful to 13yo me’s og vision for now.

As soon as Marinette spoke it set off absolute chaos, everyone started talking at once, asking questions and demanding answers from the small girl. Eventually Bruce, now as Batman, spoke up. 

“ENOUGH.”  Bruce demanded of everyone in the room. 

Silence was all that remained where if a pin was dropped it could be heard. Both parties, Marinette and the bats stared at each other, until Bruce finally spoke again. 

“Who are you?” he asked Marinette. 

“I believe I asked a question first” Marinette smarted back. Jason snorted as Damian glared at her. 

“Answer our questions harlot.” Damian spoke as he glared at her. “Who are you and what are you doing here?” 

Dick or rather Nightwing now, spoke next. “Come on baby bird, be nice, we don't know her and she doesn’t look like she knows us.” 

“That’s exactly the point Grayson! We don’t know her, or how she appeared in the cave!” Damian grimaced as he glanced back at Dick. 

“Codenames, baby bird.” Dick muttered 

Hi! I’m Nightwing! OMG, you're so cute and tiny! You're in the batcave, this is Robin, that's Red Hood, over there is Red Robin, standing there with the death glare is Batman, and finally sitting at the batcomputer in the wheelchair is Oracle!”  

“Uhh… Hi.” Marinette waved. Dick visibly cooed at her while the rest of the bats just stood there. 

“I’m Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I’m from Paris, France.” She said as if that would answer all their  questions. 

Realization spread on Bruce's face as he realized what happened. He realized that this must be the work of the Akumas the league was investigating. 

“You said you’re from Paris, correct? Batman asked Marinette. At her nod he continued. “So this must be the work of an Akuma” 

Marinette nodded. “The last thing I heard before I was transported here was a loud voice yelling, that people should treasure their relationships and that people should be able to have soulmates… or something like that, I don't really know, I wasn’t really paying attention as I was suddenly transported here with no warning.” she muttered the last part under breath but the bats still heard her. 

After around five seconds of total silence, Jason started cackling loudly. “You, tiny little pixie is apparently Demon Spawn’s soulmate. Yeah, I doubt that…” Jason spoke, and started laughing again. 

After Jason said that, all of the rest of the bats realized what she said and started snickering, except for Bruce and Damian, who just stood in front of Marinette with his mouth wide open gaping at her. 

Dick asked a question next. “Wait, what’s an Akuma, and if it's powerful enough to actually locate someone’s soulmate and send them here, Why doesn’t the league know about this? Dick asked, looking back at Bruce. 

“The league is aware of the situation. It’s on a need to know basis, and only certain members are aware. Wonder Women, Superman, Aqua Man and myself are the ones aware as the situation is extremely delicate and dangerous. 

Paris has their own heros, that have been handling the situation extremely well and there has been no need to interfere. Wonder Woman has gone out and has spoken to the heroes. They are aware that if they need any help that can contact the justice league and we will send out a member to help aid them.” 

When Bruce was done speaking, the rest of the bats were sort of shocked they weren’t aware of anything happening Paris this year or any year at all. 

Barbara immediately put it into the Batcomputer and pulled up one of Marinette’s old fights. As Marinette watched the fight with the rest of the bat’s, she cringed. She remembered the fight, perhaps she remembered it too well. It was her third battle with Evillustrator. Nathaniel managed to remember that he could draw whatever he wanted. 

He turned all of Paris into a war zone. He managed to draw himself an all powerful army with a stock supply of weapons. The battle lasted almost a full day and was one of the most lethal with over 1 million dead. The second deadliest behind Syren. 

As the video ended all the people in the room turned to marinette with a shocked look on their faces. 

Dick was the first to speak. “You deal with this all the time?” he whispered in a scared tone 

“Usually they’re not that bad. That was the second deadliest attack Paris ever had, the first being Syren. All of the effects of the damage is reversed by the ‘miraculous ladybug,’ Ladybug, the main hero announces that after she broke the object where the akuma was hidden. As soon as she throws up her ‘lucky charm’ and says that phrase all damage from the attack gets reversed.” 

“What a Lucky charm? You said it helps clear all the damage, so what does it do?” Tim spoke next. 

Marinette nodded as she said, “ The Lucky Charm is something that Ladybug calls on during the battle. It’s usually just a seemingly random object, but as soon as she calls on it the battle usually doesn’t last any longer than three minutes.” 

“What are the other heroes' powers?” Tim asked again. 

“Chat Noir has the power of destruction, just as ladybug has the power of creation. All Chat Noir has to do is simply say ‘cataclysm’ and he's able to destroy anything he touches.” 

Again all the bats, except for Batman himself, started at Marinette, with wide eyes. 

“How old are the heroes’ because to me they don’t look to be any older than the demon spawn’s age. Also how long has this been going on? Jason asked of Marinette, in a demanding tone. 

“All anyone can do is speculate the ages, due to the magic, but many say they have to be around 18 - 20 years old.” Marinette said in a rather confident voice

“And how long has this been happening?” Jason asked again in a tone that made Marinette take an unconscious step back. 

“A-about four years.” Marinette said, with her voice trembling a little bit. 

“So the heroes would have been about 13- 15 give or take when they first started given the assumptions are correct…?” 

At her nod, Jason started pacing back and forth yelling, “FUCKING HELL, what the fuck they’re kids, they were babies when they started and they have to deal with the saving the fucking world every fucking week. I admit I was young too when I started, but it was my own choice and I got FUCKING killed for it!” 

‘That’s why he has such a tainted soul, it absolutely reeks of destruction and creation magic, I’ll have to talk to Tikki later to see if we can get rid of it’ Marinette thought wisely. 

“B, why in the everloving hell did you let fucking kids fight in a goddamn war alone?!” Jason yelled at Bruce while still pacing the floor of the batcave. 

“Hood, they are only one able to fight in these battle, no matter what we do, we would not be able to fight, the best we do is investigate the villain. 

Hawkmoth, the super terrorist, is the one creating the akamus. We find him, we stop the akumas.”

“You mean we just sit here while these kids are out fighting and there’s absolutely nothing we can do?” Tim spoke up, finally finding the courage to speak. 

Batman simply shook his head.

A/N: ok, so like I have five chapters of this posted on ao3 if you want to read it there, (im taking a minute to post it on tumblr bc im lazy. ok) Also I swear I’m working on chapter 6, i'm just stuck on a particular scene and its taking a minute to figure out how I want to transition. on a side note this fic is honestly just something that my brain decided it would be a good idea to write at 2am so like don't expect too much.  (sorry for the rant)

FIC: I Pick You: Chapter 1/5 (MLB/Lukanette)

Summary: Marinette had no idea how special the Jagged Stone pick actually was when Luka first gave it to her. Neither had any idea how special it would come to be to both of them.

Author’s Notes/Warnings: So there’s a couple things at fault here, but it all traces back to Quick sharing a prompt about this couple who got together because of a dollar bill (she let him borrow it, he kept trying to give it back, and she wouldn’t take it; eventually he used it to ask her out then later propose). Which got me thinking about the Jagged Stone pick, which led to OC-tober/Dingtober 12 (“Drip”), which needed to be a whole ass fic instead of the rushed shenanigans it was. Which is how we all got here. xD (Also for this particular chapter I pull a little from 10/8 (“Festival”) for background, so some parts might seem familiar if you followed my OC-tober ficlets last October.)

Chapter One: Picking You

The annual Music Festival in Paris was a pretty big deal, and this year was promising to be bigger than most. All of Paris was going out for it: even big names like Jagged Stone, XY, and Clara Nightingale were putting on shows at venues across the city. Tons of smaller venues were also booked, and even private homes were turning into concert halls for the occasion. The Liberty, home of one Anarka Couffaine, was no exception.

The houseboat was no stranger to music. Anarka had spent quite a few years when she was younger touring and recording, and while she now preferred to spend her days teaching and working odd jobs around the city her music had done well enough for the royalties to keep them afloat, even eighteen years later. The boat was littered with musical instruments, sound equipment, stage gear…among plenty of regular old litter, too, as Anarka preferred the lived-in look. It never surprised anyone when, every year without fail, the Music Festival found the Liberty blaring music from professional-grade speakers towering over the foredeck – when one of its occupants was home to blast said music and not playing one of the numerous gigs around the city instead. Music was in Anarka’s blood, and so it was in her children’s blood, and so it was in their home.

(…it was also in their father’s blood, though they had never known him and all she’d ever said regarding the matter was that he was a useless lagabout from the road. That was fine, and they had never needed him, anyway. Anarka Couffaine was more than enough parent for her bairns.)

I'm in a crisis of being a Miraculous fan

I'm so sorry, guys.

My blog doesn't have much following but I know there are still some people who like to read my thoughts about the show, so I feel I owe you to some explanation.

Hack-san has been released few days ago, but I still don't want to watch it. Seeing a screencap with someone looking like Alya using the ladybug Miraculous killed my motivation to watch the episode.

Today someone explained me some things from this episode. That Alya using the ladybug Miraculous is portrayed as a bad thing, that Alya forced Marinette to tell Chat she revealed her identity to someone.

And it didn't help much, I still don't feel like watching this episode at all.

I still hate it. I hate all Alya favouritism. I hate that Alya knows all Miraculous secrets and she used the ladybug Miraculous, no matter if it's portrayed as a good thing or not.

I've always imagined that Miraculous and guardian things would be always shared only between Marinette and Adrien (and the other guardians of course) when the identity reveal between them happens and they would be the only ones who would ever use the ying-yang Miraculous (when we're talking about "good" characters, villains using them would be a cool idea).

Alya is now a second main character much more than Adrien has ever been in all 4 seasons. It's a fact. Her being ladybug Miraculous user even if only for this one episode confirms that even more. That thing not being a good thing doesn't change the fact that the writing team let her to use the most important Miraculous ever. They really treat Alya much nicer than Adrien. Also because Alya will be definitely much better at using ladybug's power than Adrien has been in Reflekdoll. AS Marinette is not there, unlike in Reflekdoll, where she could have helped Mr. Bug as Lady Noire.

It's like Alya will be always between Marinette and Adrien, there will be nothing shared only between them two, if Alya already knows everything and she has the fox permanently. So even when the identity reveal happens, there will be no reason not to involve Alya in every superhero and guardian thing. Besides, she even got to know every Miraculus-related thing much earlier than Adrien could (if ever), as it's not like the reveal is going to happen this season.

Ladybug and Chat Noir are not a duet anymore. Now there's also Rena and she is much more important partner for Ladybug than Chat.

In conclusion, this season completely killed the uniqueness of Marinette and Adrien relationship to me.

I also hate she is treated like a solution for Ladynoir problems. If Marinette is a really smart and empathetic person, like she is supposed to be, she should know better that she treats Chat unfairly and tries to explain some things to him. There should not have been need for Alya saying obvious things to her, like Marinette is a 5 years old kid. The fact that Marinette doesn't see a human being in Chat without someone reminding that to her, means she isn't really a good hero and protagonist material. How could she not see that she owes him any sort of explanation what's going on?! This is completely out of character to her, in my opinion. Besides, like I said in one of my previous posts, the whole mess makes Marinette's love towards Adrien unbelievable.

It's unfair and biased of course, but this season made me sick of Alya, it's more and more harder to handle episodes focused on her when the new one like that airs.

And if it's a Ladybug!Alya episode, it means there would be nothing about the new Rena suit - so the first Rena Furtive episode is 15. So episodes 13-17 are much Alya-centric.

It's way too much for me. Too much favouritism to handle.

Alya got everything this season in a short time:

She is the first person who knows Ladybug identity.

She is fully involved in the Miraculous and guardian thing, including having access to the Miracle Box as well, that means, Marinette treats her like co-guardian.

She got the fox Miraculous permanently.

And finally she could use one of the two the most important Miraculous.

So how could people say that Alya is not a main character now and actually much more important than Adrien, favoured over him by the creators?

------ Maybe I just need more time to calm down, but I have really no idea if I would ever feel like watching this episode and any other Alya-centric one. Miraculous is now much more annoying than enjoyable show for me, so I need to rethink if I still want to watch it.

I was planning to make posts about every single S4 episode before the next one is released. I've been really excited to do that, as I've joined the fandom when almost the whole season 3 has been released (only Chat Blanc and F��lix were left), but then it became more and more clear that S4 is going to disappoint me so badly. Despite that, I really liked writing them, even if I didn't like the episodes, and I don't want to break this tradition. But I can't make a post about Hack-san without watching it.

Though most of my S4 posts are salt which I never liked much. I've always thought that you should stop watching thing you don't enjoy anymore, so maybe it's time to follow my own advice: stop watching Miraculous if it's not like I imagined and wanted anymore and stop bugging you all with my rants.

I'm not sure, as my love for the show isn't gone completely, I still enjoy reading fics that are my cup od tea (though, it's getting harder and harder to find multichapter ones like that) and draw fanarts.

Ok, so after several months of radio silence, it was time for me to come back to work and post one of my “fic of the month”, but since I literally read everything Miraculous Ladybug written by Sailor/TsukiChibi, I decided to make an author special. This is my first one; the template may change with time.

As I’m writing this, Chibi has 76 works on her AO3 for the Miraculous Ladybug fandom. She has also many fics related to the MCU, Sherlock TV series and Supernatural. Kudos for so much inspiration!

Her fics are ALL worth reading, but here are some of my favorites:

Duststorm: Words:2960 - Chapters:1/1 Summary: Sandboy shows Ladybug one of her worst nightmares. It affects Ladybug far more than she would've expected, and Chat Noir is doing no better.

What I liked: The emotional comfort, The way Ladybug’s resolution to keep their identities secret is just thrown through the window

Black and White and Red All Over: Words:5222 - Chapters:1/1 Summary: Ladybug didn't know that Chat Noir had a sibling. She finds out in the worst way possible.

What I liked: Chat Noir not being Chat Blanc, Adrien having a sibling, Bridgette’s cameo, an akuma with enough control to team up with Ladybug

Shared Characteristics: Words:2895 - Chapters:1/1 Summary :Out of all the things Nino and Alya could've inherited from their kwamis, it would be a heat.

What I liked: DJWifi and the fun factor, really. Imagining them in heat and how they deal with it is just hilarious.

Miraculous Online:  Words:2619 - Chapters:1/1 Summary: What do you do when you're freed after having been trapped inside of an online game for over two years? Adrien finds his partner.

What I liked: It made me watch Sword Art Online and, re-reading it after, I could even more appreciate the fic!

Tripped at Fencing:  Words:5326 - Chapters:1/1 Summary: Of the all the ways for Ladybug to figure out his identity, Adrien never thought it would be because his father had slapped him.

What I liked: The hurt to comfort and Gabriel A+ parenting. Seriously, this is a sweet fic where you just want to give Adrien a hug or adopt him.

Kitten-ing Around: Words:959 - Chapters:1/1 Summary: Chat had a bad habit of making too many puns. Ladybug had a bad habit of pushing him off rooftops. Technically, that meant they were both to blame.

What I liked: the easy reveal. There’s no drama, no fight, just kids kitten-ing around and messing up their secret identities.

Miraculous Hive (series):  Works:5 - Complete: No Summary:  Following Chameleon, Chloe figures out who Ladybug and Chat Noir. Her bee instincts then set off a chain of events that change everything.

What I liked: Chloe POV (I haven’t read a lot of fics written from another POV outside of Adrien’s and Marinette’s) and Chloe’s redemption. I’m pro Chloe’s redemption. She’s just a kid who does what she does because of the way she has been brought to see the world (contrarily to Lila who’s genuinely bad imo)

And I’d give up Forever: Words:26829 - Chapters:13/13 Summary: Marinette and Adrien were hiding out in a motel room. Paris knew they were Ladybug and Chat Noir and hated them, and they in turn knew that Gabriel was Hawkmoth. This is one situation that they can't fix alone.

What I liked: I actually dreaded to read this one. I was trying to avoid angsty fics, but the summary about “Paris hating them” made me think they hated them for, idk, being bad at what they do. I was relieved when I understood this was caused by an akuma. The hurt to comfort, the fight against Hakwmoth and how Marinette and Adrien end up so attached to each other made me love this fic.

The Butterfly Effect:  Words:22632 - Chapters:8/8 Summary: When Hawkmoth wins and wishes for a new timeline where Emilie Agreste is alive, Marinette and Adrien are the only other ones who remember everything about the old timeline. But Ladybug and Chat Noir don't know each other's identities, and coming together to beat Hawkmoth once and for all may not be as easy as it seems.

What I liked: Adrien seeing his mother again (and finally having the chance to say properly goodbye to her), Marinette’s proof of love for Adrien by giving him the chance to keep his mother, and when Marinette and Adrien find each other. Reading Adrien snapping at his overworked life was nice too :) He needs vacations...

Guess Who:  Words:13142 - Chapters:31/31 Summary: Marinette thought a Halloween party with her friends would be fun. That was before someone died. In this choose your own ending story, can you help Marinette make it to the end alive? Reader beware... you’re in for a scare!

What I liked: Where do I actually start?! This fic is a crack and is so fun to read. It’s in the format “Choose Your Own Adventure”. I read it on my phone, set on “Chapter by Chapter” and the links from a chapter to another makes it like a RPG. I was reading it during my breaks at work and just couldn’t stop thinking about it, about who was guilty. I actually guessed right and couldn’t stop laughing.

Fruitful (series):  Works:3 - Complete: Yes Summary:  Adrien and Marinette are telepathic soulmates. That’s not always a good thing, but neither of them would give up their deep bond for anything.

What I liked: I love soulmate AUs, Marinette being there for Adrien when he’s alone, how losing the other affects them, Chloe playing the game for their sake

By my Side (When the Rain Comes Pouring in): Words:81938 - Chapters:28/28 Summary: Two years after Marinette got her miraculous, she meets Adrien Agreste for the first time. In spite of an initial gum-related bump in the road, they become fast friends thanks to their shared interest in fashion and design. But there's something funny about Adrien. He seems to suffer from terminal clumsiness just like Marinette, frequently sporting sprained wrists and ankles, new bruises, and other injuries. Injuries which look suspiciously similar to the ones that Ladybug's beloved partner has...

What I liked: Adrien’s heartbreaking situation at home, Hawkmoth’s reveal, Marinette and Plagg’s complicity

Cat’s Not-All-Encompassing Character Ranking

Okay, so I have to admit that I omitted a lot of characters I don't have strong opinions on. Most of them were one-off akumas, so don't get your panties in a twist, your faves are probably still on here (and ranked lower than you think).

As a preface again, these are just my personal opinions. They can't hurt you. You can still like characters more or less than me. And I don't care how you feel about them. This list is for me. And the person that asked for it. So shut up. Go make your own rank list if you’re so butthurt. 

We're going in reverse order this time, starting from the bottom:

84. Gabriel Agreste- I mean, is anyone surprised? I am not private about how I think Gabriel should go to jail. Or fall off a cliff. Or be erased from existence. Rip to those that like him, but I’m different.

83. Thomas Astruc- Honestly, he’s down here on principle. Self-inserts are generally a no-no, and I just laugh every time I see him on screen because he really put himself in this show and said boohoo no one appreciates me XD

82. Bob Roth- I feel like this one should also be obvious. He’s just a dick. Terrible human. I give him 0 stars.

81. Tomoe Tsurugi- We all collectively hate her, right? It’s not just me?

80. Su Han- This mans has small peepee energy. And he bad mouthed Fu, so get FUCKED, my dude.

79. Rolland Dupain- Listen, I get it, he liked Marinette in the end, but I could do without the racism.

What She Learned

7-years-old and Marinette is told by one Chloe Bourgeois that she will never be worth anything in life, because ugly little girls like her don’t deserve attention. She’s pushed to the ground but she does not cry at her split knees or the scraps stinging on her palms; she stands up and she doesn’t talk back but she returns from school to a warm house and caring parents.

Her soulmate mark appears a month later and her bully spends a month sneering at the Phoenix resting against the inside of her wrist, dancing in reds and darkness and resurrection.

A week later, she learns that there are more important people to listen to than those who make her cry at 8 in the morning.

9-years-old and Marinette thinks that the blonde mayor’s daughter is the worst person she will have the unfortunate chance to meet. She gets insulted and glared at and has a hard time making friends but she is strong and she is kind and she will continue to stand even if she doesn’t know how important it is to get up after you fall.

She’s having dreams of dark streets and color nights; of dark gargoyles hanging off buildings, dirty-faced children, a city drowned in fear. She sees the face of a dizzy woman and an angry man and she wakes up terrified because there are bruises on a body that is not her own and the ache of an empty stomach underneath their palms. When she looks into a mirror there is a boy with a too-serious expression for such a young face and eyes blue enough to drown her in the sadness there.

She learns that there are some children out there who never had the chance to learn kindness before they learned how to survive.

10-years-old and Marinette is shoved into a row of lockers by a boy she doesn’t recognize, her pink dress and pigtails sneered at until tears fill her eyes. She doesn’t know how to defend herself  but she tries until she’s shoved onto the school’s grimy floor and breaks a finger trying to catch herself.

She does not cry, she does not say sorry, she does not think that it is fair for her teacher to say, “Boys will be boys,” instead of “I’m sorry you got hurt on my watch.” She will continue to stand up for herself even after a broken wrist.

She asks her parents about the nightmares, about the boy with blue eyes and an empty stomach; they tell her about her soulmate and they tell her that one day, she is going to meet him and love him how their parents loved each other.

13-years old and Marinette does not understand the word sacrifice but she is about to learn. She flinches at the sight of magic-tainted earrings and feels her fingertips run cold with insecurity— because she never wanted this, she didn’t want to be a hero and she didn’t want to be in charge of saving people when, in the past, she never knew how to save herself.

It has been a year and she starts to see flashes of a man in black and a large house that feels too clean to be tainted, too open to be safe. She sees the reflection of a boy in red, green, and yellow and feels the comfort of the heavy books underneath his fingers.

He never got the chance to be smart before, never got the right education, never learned something unless it helped him stay alive— and she goes to sleep smiling because even though he’s not quite happy, at least he’s safe.

15-years-old and Marinette is dreaming of a man in green and purple and she’s sobbing because— he’s getting hurt and she’s watching from his eyes and she can’t do anything about it. He cries out for his father, for the man promised to be there, and he dies alone and staring at a bloody crowbar, his blue eyes going dull in the reflection of his own blood.

She wakes up screaming and feeling empty and with the Phoenix on her wrist looking like nothing more than a pile of ash, red feathers and glowing eyes going blurry and dark. There is not enough light in the world to make her chest hurt any less and her parents hold her as she cries but don’t speak; there is nothing that could be said to comfort someone in the face of a loss like this.

She learns what it is like to be alone for the first time in her life and she no longer knows how to dream.

17-years-old and Marinette is standing at the bottom of the Eiffel tower, ruination around her, swirling and teetering on the edge of death, surrounding her like a wet blanket, the water of horror digging deep into her bones. She has watched her comrades die for her and she has watched them protect her with everything in them, believing that she will win. Believing that she will bring them back— and she does, and they’re safe, but nothing can change the fact that she will always remember what her loved one’s looked like dead, empty eyes staring right at her.

She did not win against Hawkmoth, not really, not when she has lost so much. She casts her cure and she returns home with the two recovered miraculouses, a heavy heart, and enough trauma to last a lifetime.

She knew what it felt like to mourn someone she never met but now she learns how it feels to grieve two people at once, even when they are still alive.

19-years-old and Marinette is staring at the fire that consumed the bakery, her home, her parents. She saw too many horrible, traumatic things that it takes a couple seconds to register that this is it, they’re not coming back. Because yes, she has seen the world end but no, the world did not end. She is used to being able to fix things that are broken in a way that makes sure they never broke but this is not one of those things and her parents are not some of the people whose lives she has the luxury of saving.

She is desperate to run and she is desperate to fight but there is no longer a battle in Paris. Her instincts tell her to go, go, run, don’t look back and don’t think about the bodies left behind, so she does and she ends up in Gotham and she ends up looking at familiar gargoyles and familiar streets and feels an ache so wide inside her heart she’s surprised it’s still beating.

She owns a small bakery on the corner of crime alley that is the only neutral ground in seemingly all of Gotham and she learns how to bake without crying at the scent of baked bread, turning her grief into comfort as she’s surrounded by her parent’s smell and memories of her childhood— she shares that comfort with any kids who come in looking for a safe place to spend the night.

21-years-old and Marinette has built herself a home; the building is old but warm and drenched in magic. She found all the other Miraculous boxes and lets the Kwamis roam free inside of her apartment, there’s over a hundred of them in total but she bonded with them all and, in return, they love her. She is the Guardian; both a monster and a protector at once.

The kids flock to her like moths to a flame and over the years she has gained all of their trust. She asks for nothing in return when she gives them food and medicine and a warm place to sleep. There’s magic on the doors that lead to rooms full of bunk beds and closets with food and medical supplies and sleeping bags and all is welcome— the kids know about the Kwamis and they know that she is safe, in a world that has taught them to fear everything, she is safe.

They call her the Guardian or Lady luck and she learns how to have a family again without being terrified of losing them.

23-years-old and Marinette has just saved one of her kids from Scarecrow. It is not the first time and it will not be the last. There are those that are terrified of her, gang leaders and villains that won’t step foot onto her land— but these are her kids, these are her people, this is her home and she will not feel guilty for protecting them.

She is polite to Batman and the other vigilantes, she has made friends with the Sirens, and she knows her way around Gotham and she knows when there is a problem that needs to be solved. She does not know what to make of Red Hood or the dreams that come with him or how her fingers tremble when one of the older kids comes through the bakery’s doors with a crowbar tucked under her arm.

She does not know how to make her mind any lighter, she does not know how to get rid of the darkness but she learns that there is such a thing as healing with time.

24-years-old and Marinette comes home from patrol and finds her balcony’s doors open and the living room smelling like blood. She sees Red Hood’s eyes for the first time and she does not cry, she does not fall, and she does not flinch. They are blue and more angry than sad and guilty— so, so guilty— but she knows them well. Her wrist burns and the Phoenix rises again from the ashes, and she no longer feels so alone.

She patches Hood— Jason, his name is Jason— up and she still does not fall over but her knees are weak, so very weak because he’s here and he’s alive and oh my God. She does not ask about the bullet wound but she asks about the sickly and tainted magic clinging to his skin. He tells her about waking up in the Lazarus Pit and when asked, she tells him about a boy in white and the moon cracked in half in the sky.

They do not know each other’s past well, they do not know so many things but they know that they don’t want to lose each other again. They do not know what to do next but she learns not to question it because her soulmate is alive and that’s good enough for her.

26-years-old and Marinette is getting married under a sky full of stars and the hands in hers are warm and there’s nothing cold about her life. She has her home, she has her kids and bakery and she has her Kwamis. She has Jason and he isn’t gentle but he is kind and he knows how to hold her just right when she feels like falling apart. She is kind and soft and knows how to hold him when he feels like the madness is getting worse again.

She is happy for one of the first times in years and she knows that, despite it all, she’d go through it again if it meant she could end up here; happy in her husband's arms and cheeks hurting from smiling so wide.

She has learned a lot and she’s not even 30, but she has learned how to love and how to be loved and how to always get up when she falls. She knows how to stand, feet firmly planted into the ground, and she knows how to not let herself get blown over when things get too hard.

But if she did happen to let herself fall?

Well, now there’s someone there to catch her.

Adrien escorted Marinette to his old bedroom at the Agreste Manor. They both were freezing as they both were sopping wet. The Helicopter had brought them back to Paris after the train accident. They were checked over at the hospital then Felix had a car take them back to the manor. 

“Are you sure you don’t want to stay in one of the other rooms?” Adrien asked as he closed the door behind them. 

“Alone in an empty mansion where Hawk Moth lived.” She said not wanting to look at him. “Is creepy enough, so no, I don’t want to be alone.” Adrien pulled some dry clothes out of his closet and handed them to her.

“You're not much bigger than me as a senior so these should fit you.” Adrien said, handing her the clothes. “That way I can get your clothes in the wash.” It was late and there was really nothing else to do. Marinette took the clothes to the bathroom. Adrien wanted to get into the jet stream tub to warm up but it wasn’t a good idea since neither had swim clothes or reached a point of skinny dipping yet. 

“Adrien.” She called from the bathroom

“Yeah?” He asked. He had already stripped his shirt off. 

“Since we are already wet….” She opened the bathroom door enough for him to see the tub. “Would you care to join me… just so we can warm up.” She wrapped her arm over her chest and looked away. Her face lit up with pink. Adrien smiled and took off his shoes and socks. She was already down as much. He set the temp on the tub then turned the jets on once it was full enough. He offered her a hand as she stepped into the tub in her t-shirt and capri’s. He slipped in wearing just his jeans. He pulled her clothes to him as they sat with their backs against the jets. 

“You know, this tub is so huge a person could swim in it.” Marinette laughed. 

“Kim used to every time he was allowed to sneak.” Adrien laughed. “He would come over when the guys decided to have a ‘hang out’ in my room. But the first chance he got, he would be swimming in the current.”

“Sounds like him.” Marinette chuckled. 

“Are you warmed up now?” Adrien asked.

“I’m comfortable.” She said. “You?”

“You know I love holding you, and I would never want to let go...but.” He pointed to his pants. “Jeans in a tub?” She laughed at him. 

“Why didn’t you put some shorts on?”

“I don’t exactly have any here that fit me anymore.” They both laughed. 

“I suppose I should let you get out of the tub then.” She said pulling away from him. He stood up and stepped out of the tub. He grabbed some towels from the closet next to the shower. He set up the folding clothes rack in the shower. 

“Close your eyes while I take my pants off.” She turned in the tub until her back was to him. “You know, in Asia, the bath houses, bathing publicly in nothing but a towel is common, even encouraged.” 

“Really?” She said quietly. “Don’t people get embarrassed?” 

“Why would they?” Adrien asked, wrapping a towel around his waist then stepping back into the tub holding the towel so it didn’t slip as he sat down next to her. 

“It’s just that.” Her face lit up as her eyes were still closed. 

“Go ahead, and take your wet clothes off, I will put a towel on the counter for you.” He lifted her up to the edge of the tub so she could climb out. “I promise I will be a gentleman.” 

“Uh, okay, if you think…” He turned his back to her until she returned with a towel wrapped around her. He helped her back in. She sat down next to him as he tucked her into his arms again. “Comfy now?” She asked him.

“Completely, you.” Adrien felt the warmth of his heart beat as he held her. 

“Yes, even though.” Marinette paused. “I’m a little embarrassed.” 

“Why, you're my girlfriend, and at least you're not completely naked.” he chuckled. He lifted her face up to meet his then gently kissed her lips. 

“I think…” She took a deep breath. “That all of this excitement has gone to my head.” her face flushed. “I am… I mean, I think I should get out before I fall asleep.” She climbed over him and went to the shower to hang the towel and put on the clothes he got for her. 

“There’s more towels in that cupboard.” he heard it open but kept his back to her. After she left the bathroom he got out releasing the water then grabbed a dry towel. 

He pulled out all of his clothes until he found a large pair of sweats then tried them on in the bathroom, they were tight and short but fit well enough. Marinette was already asleep on his bed so he grabbed a blanket and tried to make himself comfortable on the couch. 

“How’s that working out for you?” Plagg asked. Teasing him. 

“Shut up Plagg.” He tried to roll over but almost fell off the couch.

“Are you coming to bed soon?” He heard Marinette ask. 

“You want me to…”

“Get over here, don't be a silly kitty.” She giggled. He slid between the sheets as she scooted closer to him. She cuddled into his chest and fell asleep. 

Adrien turned the television on as he waited for the clothes to dry. Marinette was still asleep but he managed to get breakfast made while the clothes were in the wash. Yesterday had been a very exhausting day and She really needed her sleep. It had been the first time they have had to call on their powers for a life or death situation since Hawk Moth was defeated. 

“I miss the days when my frig was fully stocked with Camembert.” Plagg reminisced. “Coming home after a long day to indulge in some…”

“Enough complaining Plagg, you're going to wake Marinette.” Tikki flew over to the couch and plopped down beside him.

“Tell me you don’t miss it too Sugar Cube?” Plagg teased

“Of course I miss those days, we had so much fun.” Tikki smiled “But we’ve had eternity to enjoy those brief moments, and this is a pleasant reprieve from fighting evil.” 

“I still can’t believe you kwami’s have powered holders for so long.” Adrien mused. “Has there always been a Ladybug and Cat Noir duo?”

“Since the very beginning, since the Kwami’s have been bound to our jewels.” Tikki explained.

“Before that, we were free roaming beings.” Plagg reminded. 

Adrien’s phone began to go off. He scrambled to get it before it woke Marientte, but it was a phone call not the alarm for the dryer. 

“Felix hey what’s up.” Adrien said

“Look out the window.” Felix sounded upset. Adrien stood up and went to the window. The water had risen in the Seine until it had covered the streets and was still rising. Not as fast as it had when Siren flooded Paris, but fast enough to know it would reach his bedroom in no time. He rushed to the laundry room to find the water already up to his ankles, He pulled their clothes out and went back to the bedroom.

“Marinette, wake up.” He called as he entered the room, dumping the dry clothes onto the bed. “Get up, we don’t have time to get dressed, just transform.”

“What happens when we detransform?” She said groggily. She was still in his shorts and t-shirt. Damn she was cute. 

“Touche.” he tossed her the clothes then spun around so she could get dressed as he pulled his pants on. “The city is flooding.” 

“It can’t be an akuma or a sentimonster, Duusuu and Nooroo haven’t left the miracle box since I got them back.” Marinette said before she rushed to the window to look out. She had already changed. Adrien met her at the window. They couldn’t see the source as they looked out.

“Think we should get the team together to scout for it?” Marinette asked. 

“Let’s take a look around first, see what we are dealing with before we involve anyone else.” Adrien answered. 

“Let’s go already.” Tikki said excitedly. 

“But what about breakfast?” Plagg complained. 

Adrien and Marinette called on their transformation then leaped out the bedroom window as Adrien had done so many times as a kid. They made their rounds through the city but couldn’t find the source. They landed on the roof of the Bourgeois hotel only to find Felix waiting. 

“There’s no sign of a villain anywhere.” Cat Noir told him. 

“That’s because you’re looking in the wrong place.” Felix said, pointing into the water. “I’ve seen them several times now.” 

“Them?” Ladybug asked. 

“There’s two of them.” Felix said. “I’m not entirely sure what they are but a new broadcast went out this morning before the water began to rise.” He handed them his phone already cued up. 

“People of Paris, hand over Ladybug and Cat Noir along with all of their little friends or we will destroy Paris once and for all.” The echoing tone came from two mermaid-like creatures speaking simultaneously from underwater. Their hair floated lifelessly around their bluish bodies. A large fin in place of human legs, their fingers were webbed together with gills to the sides of their bosoms. 

“How did they film underwater like that?” Marinette asked. 

“Those are the camera’s at the aquarium.” Cat Noir announced. “Mom used to take me there all of the time.” 

“We can’t call on the others, it’s too dangerous.” Ladybug said. 

“It’s too late for that.” The voice came from behind them. It was Viperon. Who had landed not far from them. “I am here to help, but I know some others that have been waiting for a moment like this. So don’t keep them waiting Ladybug?”

“I don’t even know where they are?” Ladybug whimpered. 

“Well you can start with me.” Zoe said, stepping out from behind the bushes. She must have come with Viperon and just stayed hidden to conceal her identity from Felix. 

“If we do this, your identities may be revealed to the rest of the team.” Ladybug said.

“I understand the risks Ladybug, I always have.” Zoe held out her hand. Ladybug opened her yo-yo and pulled out the Bee miraculous. 

“Ladybug!” A voice came from the water below. It was Kim. Ladybug dropped her yo-yo and pulled it up. 

“Woo, I am ready to suit up.” Kim said before realizing he was surrounded by more than just her and Cat. “Oops.” 

“Sorry Kim, our identities can’t remain hidden if we are going to gather everyone.” She pulled out the Monkey and handed it to him. He called on his transformation. 

“Now to find the love birds.” Cat said with a laugh.

“Love Birds?” Ladybug asked. “Wait, you know already.” 

“Nino told me, a long time ago, I mean, he told the other me.” He laughed. He wasn’t ready to tell everyone who he was yet.

“Nino?” Kim said, “I know exactly where he is.”

“Go get him, and Alya too.” Ladybug said. 

“Viperion, go get Juleka and Rose. Cat, find Ivan and Mylene.” Ladybug ordered. 

“What about Pegasus?” Cat asked. Ladybug looked up at him then to Felix who was still standing there silently. 

“Vesperia, go find Max, Marc and Nathaniel.” Without hesitation she leapt off the building. Followed by Viperon and Cat Noir. King Monkey was long gone. Ladybug looked up at Felix.

“What about me?” he said looking hurt. “Don’t you trust me.” 

“Of course I do, but I need you to help me, take me to the kitchen.” he led the way to his suit. She gave him a list of ingredients. “I’m sorry, but I need you to cry.” She said as she mixed the ingredients. His mouth pulled tight into a frown. “No, silly, a happy tear.” 

“A happy tear.” He looked so serious she wondered if it were even possible to make him so happy he’d cry. 

“Why do people put candles on top of a birthday cake?” She asked him. He shook his head. “Because it’s too hard to put them on the bottom.” he smiled but didn't laugh. “Have you ever been that happy before?” She asked curiously. 

“Not since Adrien and I were children running through the halls, playing tag, and games.” He smiled as he spoke of his time with his brother, who then he thought was only his cousin. “It makes sense now, knowing we are twins and not just cousins, how close we were.” 

“Tell me for your favorite memory.” She asked him as she sat on a stool by the counter. He leaned against the sink crossing his arms over his chest. He scoffed. 

“This one time, it was time for me to go home and Adrien had it in his mind that he wasn’t going to let me. So we changed clothes and hid. So if they found us, they would try to take him instead and he would be like ‘I’m not Felix’. We had Gabriel so confused that I ended up staying the entire weekend until they finally figured out which one of us was which.” Felix’s smile was so bright, but no tears. “I grew up an only child, just like he did. Kept inside, never allowed to have a life, but unlike him, I never got to go to school.” He looked over at Marinette, his sadness moistening his eyes. 

“But you're not alone now!” Ladybug reminded him. “You have us, and you have a brother.” His smile returned. 

“He called me brother.” Felix’s eyes swelled up. Ladybug couldn’t tell if they were sad tears or happy ones. Ladybug held the bowl under his chin as his tears fell into the bowl. She continued to mix the concoction then let go of her transformation. 

“Sorry Tikki, I haven’t done this in awhile and I hope that it works.” She scooped a tiny bit into a spoon and held it up for Tikki to drink. Tikki suddenly transformed in a bright light. 

“Wow, that is more powerful than anything Master Fu ever made.” Tikki said as her aquatic form now had a luminescent radiance to it. 

“We need something to separate this into for the others.” Marinette and Felix looked around. But found nothing. “Can you wait on the roof for the others, and bring them here?” She asked him. He left. 

Cat Noir found Ivan and Mylene not far from the Hotel, they had seen Cat and Ladybug and were in a small boat making their way to the hotel. As soon as they got to the roof, they found Rose and Juleka with Viperon. Max showed up not long after with Vesperia. 

“I couldn't find Marc and Nathaniel.” Vesperia told Cat.

“Cat Noir.” Felix called from the elevator, “we're waiting for everyone in my suit.”

“You guys go, I’ll wait up here.” Cat said. 

“She told me to wait.” Felix huffed. 

“They don’t know which suite is yours.” Cat wasn’t wrong. Felix left him leading the others to Ladybug. “Wait a second Felix.” He called after. He placed a hand on his shoulders. “I wish you would have been there all along, to be part of this team, but I am glad you are here now.” Felix nodded then pushed the button closing the doors. 

Ladybug waited for the rest of the team before administering the potion. Cat finally arrived with Nino and Alya. 

“Before we begin I want to apologize that I had to forgo your secret identities.” Ladybug said. 

“It’s okay Ladybug, we trust you.” Alya said as the rest of the group agreed. 

“Good, because I have something to show you all, so please if you are already transformed, release it, because you Kwami’s are going to have to power up.” Cat Noir stepped up next to the Aquatic Ladybug. 

“Spots off.” The look of shock on several of their faces told her exactly who had suspected her identity all along. Vesperia had figured it out during an akuma mission and She had told Alya, but the rest were shocked. 

“Claws in.” The entire crowd gasped except Nino and again Luka. “Wait, Luka you knew.” 

“Wishmaker man.” was all he had to say. 

“Nino?” 

“Come one man, how can I not know my best bro was Cat Noir.” He smiled awkwardly. 

“Alright Kwami’s we have two mermaids who want revenge on Ladybug and Cat Noir for some unknown reason.” Marinette started. 

“I think I know, I just don’t know how.” Felix offered. “Adrien, did you notice the silver bands on their webbed hands? Sudden realization hit him. 

“They want vengeance for us destroying their family.” Adrien’s voice shook. “Great, now I have to apologize to my friends yet again for putting your lives in danger because my parents are evil.” 

“If you have to apologize then, so do I remember we share…” Felix froze.

“No more secrets Felix, we are your family now.” Marinette placed a hand on his shoulder.” 

“Felix and I are twin brothers, Gabriel is our father, and Amelie our mother.” Adrien said, stepping up next to him. “I am happy and proud to stand with you brother.” Marinette topped Tikki off and transformed. She pulled out a miraculous from her yoyo then handed it to Adrien. He opened his hand and saw which one it was. He looked at Ladybug then back to his brother. 

“We are going to need a lot of help on this one.” Ladybug said.

“Felix Graham De Vanily, this is the Butterfly miraculous, you will use it for the greater good and you will return it when the job is done.” He opened his hand and fixed the broach to Felix’s lapel. 

“Alright drink up Kwami’s.” Ladybug said as all of them sat around the bowl drinking from it together,The whole group had to close their eyes as the Kwami’s lit up in bright phosphorescents. The team headed for the rooftop. They called on their kwami’s to transform.

“Wait.” Cat turned back to his brother who stood there dressed in a purple suit, his slick hair exposed as opposed to the bullet style head wear of Hawk Moth.

“Purple Emperor.” Felix shrugged. “It’s the name of a purple butterfly, so I guess.” 

“It’s perfect.” Purple Tigress leaped on him squeezing him into a tight hug with Pigella joining the hug.  

“Superhero stance?” Cat Noir asked. Striking a pose as he squatted on the railing. The group joined him.

• same as cannon only the temple is never brought back in feast, the building itself is brought back but the monks are gone Mari may be a powerful ladybug because she’s a true holder but they’ve been dead for a century and she has a cap on her powers because of her age (Chloé also only leaves for about a month or two)

•before fu goes bonk he actually teaches mari some shit abt the miraculous and the order. (The language, history and as much magic as he can)

•after she becomes the guardian she no longer has the time for class drama and resigns as class pres

•she can also train with past guardians and holders of any miraculous that she’s used (only ones that have died already so in this au not hippolyta or Alfred)

•she throws herself into finding out who hawkmoth is because now she has a secret order to rebuild and she’s done with not being able to cry

•she tells chat noir at their next battle to shape up after he almost gets her killed because stealing a kiss is more important than the battle at hand

•chat throws a fit and doesn’t show up for a while(how long is up to the writer)

• during all of this we still have lila and her classmates being dickheads so she has to deal with being all alone cause Adrien doesn’t have her back and she knows this because it’s been months and he hasn’t helped her once

•mari gets close to a previous ladybug who teaches her how to remain herself while putting up a front to intimidate the enemy (she uses this to appear disinterested in lila and her classmates effectively telling them fuck off idc what you think)

•after Lila says that marinette pushed her down the stairs again mari gets harmed in some way and decides to take tomoe up on her offer to learn fencing (as a result she and Kagami get closer)

•mari brings up wanting to be able to carry a self defense weapon on her person at all times but also doesn’t want to carry something like a taser or a knife so Kagami suggests war fans

•mari is like hell yea because a. She’s now closer to her culture and b. They look sick and she’s been wanting a style change for some time now

•Chloé is back at this point and sees what’s happening in the class and is like wtf

•while away she decided to improve herself so when she sees this she begrudgingly is like fuck it alliance

•mari and Chloé after an apology and a few tenative weeks become friends

•they have their style change together we now have techwear and occasional soft girl mari who constantly has a fan on her that matches with her outfit

•thanks to her training with the Tsurugis she now has an excuse for being so well versed in self defense

•she makes Chloé and Kagami permant holders and while Luka always has sass on him she only tells him to transform when she’s positive she needs him (watching your friends die time and time again and having the future of everything weigh on you being able to turn back time is stressful and she doesn’t want to fuck Luka up like fu fucked her up)

•at this point mari has also gotten closer to aurore who starts to run a blog once the ladyblog goes to shit and gets the turtle

•unlike the others she’s a hero whose focused on the citizens, she gets them to saftey and defends them if they get caught up in a battle rather than fighting Akumas directly

•chat noir hasn’t been present in any battles so they’re easier for mari and it reduces her stress over it

•they discover gabriel is hawkmoth (how it is is up to the writer)

•they have a showdown in which chat defends Gabriel because ‘he could never be hawkmoth what are you doing’

•because of this mari now has both the ladybug and the black cat miraculous on her during the fight with hawkmoth

•she ends up having to use both at the same time bacause training or not that power cap is a bitch when she’s fighting two people who don’t have it

•divine being mari because the two miraculous if not used to make a wish will just transfer the power it would take to make the wish into whoever combined them

•she beats hawkmoth and says fuck it hands him and Mayura over to the cops and peace’s out

•she doesn’t take back the miraculous from her team only Adrien gabe and nath

•she then chills out for the remainder of the school year and decides to visit the temple during the summer

•(wether she told her parents about everything or got disowned is up to you)

•by this point mari has made plenty of money as mdc and can afford to just fuck off to Tibet and rent an apartment for the summer

•(if she goes alone or with someone else is up to you)

•she spends the summer recovering all that she can from the temple (scrolls, additional miraculous, a grimoire that all guardians use)

•so by the time she returns to France for her senior year she’s got a good grip on magic and what she needs to do starting with recovering a box of miraculous that was apparently lost before the temple even fell

•she works with the others to pinpoint where they could be (museums, ruins, family heirlooms, buried under centuries of dirt, at a thrift or jewelry shop)

•eventually she ends up in Gotham for her senior trip

•where she gets caught up in a two face/scarecrow attack at Wayne enterprises (dick was leading the tour so he can’t get away to nightwing and Damien stuck around because it was either help with the tour or school and he fucking hates it there)

•she slips away and transforms (pleas e I’m begging for a costume change the onzie is hella ugly)

•comes back and kicks ass fixes the damage so no one needs the actual cure to fear toxin and peace’s out again

•she ends up doing it a few more times while she’s there somehow always around Damien/Robin (hes like 12-13)

•she nails him out of a bad joker situation (use your imagination) and he’s like yes my sister my hella suspicious sister I’ve adopted you now 😌

• so that’s how she ends up eating dinner in her ladybug get up with the Wayne’s

•she decides to go to college at gotham academy cause Gotham needs healing and there’s more than one miraculous in this town

•so now here she is tellin robin/Damien that she’ll be back in like a week or two because she needs to get everything in Paris sorted out before she chills here

•(wether they know ladybug = marinette is up to you)

•she goes back to Paris to finish out the school year going back to Gotham on the weekends to heal it the best she can and hang out with her cool murder baby brother

•she gets along with Jason the best after Damien cause it’s fun to fuck shit up with someone who is just as chaotic as you but slightly adjacent

•no romantic parings with any of the batfam cause she sees them all as her family (if she has a romantic thing going on with someone it’s probably with Chloé cause I’m a hoe for Chloénette)

•eventually Damien has a really bad day and he calls her at what he’s to be 1 am because he almost killed someone again and he just wants to be distracted from it

•so mari takes him to some old ruins she was planing on going to

•que Damien coming into the dinning room the next day with a magic sword and looking surprisingly content

•now mari is just the cool tomb raider sister who will takes Damien ruins when he’s feeling down hands him some cookies and let him sleep over

•eventually she gets caught stealing from a museum and now Bruce is talking about what a bad influence she is on Damien and how she’s not allowed to see him anymore and she’s like 😦

•ends up explaining everything (if they didn’t know her identity before they know it now)

•and Bruce is like wow shit do you need a parental figure

•mari now has been officially adopted as a Wayne

Chapter One

At 11 years old, Marinette Dupain-Cheng was considered tall for her age. She was 5'3 (160cm) and she towered over everyone in her class. She was fluent in French, Arabic, English and a little bit of Chinese. When she was 5, her mother, Sabine, had taught her how to perform many kinds of martial arts, and her father, Tom, had taught her how to do a little bit of wrestling.

At 11 years old, Damian Al Ghul was considered short for his age. He was 5'1 (154cm) and he was one of the shortest in his class. He was fluent in Arabic, French, English and a lot more languages people don't know about. Since he was a kid, he was trained to be an assassin in the League of Assasins, until he joined the Wayne family at age 10.

Marinette was walking around Gotham. She was here on a holiday with her parents and she had gone out for a while to buy more fabric for an outfit she was planning to make.

Her parents didn't mind her going out alone, as they knew she could take care of herself and there were also superheroes patrolling at night. Marinette was as safe as she could possibly be.

Once she got her fabric from the store that was a few blocks away from her grandparents' house, she started the 10 minute walk back to their apartment.

On the way back, she noticed three grown men following her. She rolled her eyes as she ducked into an alleyway, where she placed the shopping bags on the ground, careful not to crumple any of the fabric.

Damian was walking around Gotham, still getting used to being away from his mother. He could very much take care of himself while in Gotham (growing up with assassins would do that to you).

He noticed a rather tall girl in pink being followed and he rolled his eyes when she ducked into an alley way. Honestly, if you were being followed, why would you go into an alleyway? He sighed.

'I guess I have to save her then,' he thought scornfully.

However, when he rounded the corner and jumped in, ready to take out the thugs, he realised that two of them were already unconscious and the other was groaning in pain, a bump forming on his head. The girl was binding his wrists together with a pink zip tie.

He looked around and noticed a discarded switchblade on the ground. The girl looked up and passed him two zipties, and Damian knelt down to tie up the unconscious thugs.

The girl knocked the thug she was tying up on the head, causing him to grunt and fall unconscious. She took out a mobile and called the police, who arrived in around 10 minutes and took the thugs away.

A female cop took their statements and within 15 minutes, they were allowed to leave, Damian walking back to his house, wih Marinette tagging along because apparently, they lived on the same street. (The officer asked for their addresses.)

'I'm Marinette,' the girl chirped, smiling. 'I'm eleven!'

Damian was taken aback. An eleven year old girl in pink, took out three thugs and was so.. happy? The girl's happiness was contagious though, and Damian found himself feeling slightly happier when she smiled. He could've sworn Gotham became a little bit brighter.

'Damian, eleven too,' he said monotonously, shaking her hand.

They struck up a conversation and Marinette actually got Damian to smile. He didn't even notice he was smiling until Marinette pointed at him and commented, 'You look handsome when you smile. You should do it more often.'

They arrived at their respective houses, and Marinette waved him goodbye.

'Wait,' he said, the word falling out of his mouth. 'Do you.. maybe want to meet up tomorrow? For lunch or something?'

'Sure!' Marinette giggled.

It was the beginning of a new friendship.

The next day, they met up and talked. Damian wasn't sure he had talked that much in his whole life. Marinette's phone vibrated and she noticed that there was a new trend going on. To her surprise, she saw that it was her, with the tag #SunshineOfGotham.

During the one week Mari was in Gotham, she became relatively famous for beig a sunshine. Many surrounding people could've sworn that when she smiled, Gotham became brighter. Everyone in Gotham knew her, because she was kind and helped everyone she could, the entire Gotham had an unspoken rule to protect their sunshine.

Marinette came back every year for two months, during the summer holidays in June, and the winter holidays in December. (Based on where i come from)

Marinette, bless her, even became friends with the villains of Gotham on her second trip, when she was 12. The first villain she met was the Riddler, when she tore into him, criticising his outfit and promising she would visit him in Arkham with a new outfit.

She stayed true to her word and the next day, she entered Arkham with a new outfit for Riddler and gifts for everyone else. The people there couldn't help but fall in love with the little one, adopting her as their own. She visited every time she came to Gotham and even the most feared of villains couldn't resist the little sunshine.

Every time Marinette came to Gotham, the people would just know for some reason because somehow Gotham became warner and brighter as soon as she arrived. She and Damian were inseperable, and Damian's family practically adopted Marinette as a little sister, who loved the badass little kid.

(Marinette had accidentally punched Dick in the nose because he snuck up on them on Mari's first visit to the manor.)

She even became an honorary student at Gotham Academy, when she followed Damian there for his first day. The students had quickly realised that Damian only smiled when he was with Marinette.

The Dupain-Chengs had their own room in the Wayne mansion where they stayed during their yearly trips. Bruce, Tom and Sabine had become good friends, much like their kids.

When Marinette and Damian were 14, Damian had confessed to Mari that he liked her, and Mari had obviously returned his feelings. They started dating, but kept it a secret from anyone outside of Gotham. (Gotham was ectastic, their sunshine thawed their ice prince. #DemonsAngel)

Damian was sulking because Mari was taller than him, and one day he asked her a question. 'Angel, if I become taller than you, will you marry me?'

She kissed his forehead and ruffled his hair. 'Grow taller first, Dami, then we'll talk.'

The Wayne kids and Mari didn't keep any secrets from each other. When Mari was 13 and became Ladybug, she told them, and they had told her that they were Gotham's vigilantes.

Mari didn't want them to help her in Paris, because they all had strong emotions and if one of them were to get akumatised, it would definitely not be pretty.

Mari told them about her life in Paris. From how Mari pretends to be clumsy (which set all of them off in a fit of laughter except Damian who just smiled) to her having a pretend crush on a model called Adrien (Damian scowled).

When Mari was 15, she came to Gotham as per usual and told them about how a liar named Lila had joined her class and turned everyone against her. The only people who stood by her were Chloe and Adrien. She told the two everything about Gotham and Adrien came out as gay.

To cheer her up, Damian nudged her shoulder as they were watching a movie.

'Angel,' he whispered. 'I'm taller than you.'

And so he was. Damian gave Mari a engagement ring which also dubbed as a promise ring, which Mari wore on her left hand.

Mari always enjoyed hanging out in Gotham with the Waynes, the family she had in Arkham, Gotham Academy and basically all of Gotham.

During a weekly video call when Mari was 16, she excitedly told them that her class forked up enough money to have a field trip to Gotham. She would be there for two weeks, the weekdays would be spent in Gotham Academy, the first Saturday and Sunday touring WE, the next Saturday at the Wayne Gala, and Sunday, a free day.

She didn't tell them the dates though, she wanted it to be a secret. Everyone in Gotham was notified of that and was eagerly anticipating their sunshine's return. Mari would be staying at the manor, as per normal, while her class stayed in a hotel nearby.

The villains in Arkham were also told of their sunshine coming to Gotham and they perked up, knowing that she would be coming to visit soon enough. None of them wanted to break out and miss her visit.
