Kapyy, Talia Family headcanon

Will any of this make sense? Idk. family portrait and explainations below. This is going to be a bit long. Also Talia's look here is just her appearance in the saloon with her hair from the chorus of ikywt. I keep mentioning this headcanon so i thought that i should show my headcanon for the family first. Its my birthday tomorrow and i'm sitting here doing this, at least its fun to share stuff like this.

For a bit of context, i was in Greece back in July, and one night when i was trying to sleep i had the thought "What if Kapyy and Talia Sway are twins who were separated at birth" and it just spiralled from there.

Their parents are the coaches from Giddy on Up and Blinding Lights extreme, who i will refer to as GOU and BLE from now on. Why did i choose these two for this headcanon? Country break up song and futuristic spinning (i actually forgot that Talia spins around quite a bit in IKYWT).

Kapyy was kidnapped after birth and taken to Cyberfunk. No one is entirely sure who they were but BLE has his suspicions that it was someone he used to know. I'm not going into the kidnapper fully yet, but she used to date BLE and then he found out that she wanted to fully control him so he got out of Cyberfunk and went to Wasterra. Then he met GOU and they fell in love and got married. Eventually GOU finds out she's pregnant with twins. After the birth Kapyy was kidnapped leaving Talia as the Kidnapper was caught in the act and fled. The Kidnapper brought Kapyy to Cyberfunk where she placed him in an orphanage where she could monitor him, to bring him up and use him to spite his father. Which inevitably backfired on her as Kapyy ended up in Wasterra where the rest of his family is.

They resemble their mother and father respectively however, Kapyy gets his hair and eye colour from GOU and the same for Talia from her dad. For this BLE is a natural blonde who dyes his hair black. I also see the goggles that BLE wears as glasses, Talia also needs glasses but she wears contact lenses most of the time.

Height wise, this is a family of giraffes lol. BLE is the tallest at 6"2, with GOU just Below him at 6' 1", and Talia and Kapyy being half an inch apart at 5' 11" and 5'11.5" respectively. Wow i really do think that they are Dipper and Mabel Pines lol.

You know what, Talia and Kapyy's relationship is sort of like Dipper and Mabel from Gravity falls in the sense that they ground each other. Though Talia does find it strange that she has a brother. Talia does get annoyed with how energetic Kapyy is and Kapyy can get annoyed with her seriousness but they find that they do balance each other out.

Kapyy finds it difficult to connect with his parents, mainly because of how he has only known them for a bit. He is mainly worried that he might do something wrong. That's why in the family portrait he is standing a bit away. This sort of comes from how he could never really connect with anyone, but eventually he does managed to connect with them.

However the two were overjoyed that their son had returned to them after he had been kidnapped, and welcomed him with open arms.

I'm not sure if any of this will make sense, i feel like i just blurted out a bunch of words.

A lot of this is formed from Talia. Considering that she is based on Taylor swift, who is 5' 11" and has a brother (Albeit a younger one and not a twin), it just started to make this headcanon make more sense to me.

There's more to this headcanon but i just wanted to focus on the family first. Honestly after i initially came up with it i just thought it would be cute. Though I do have a short plotline with this that i kinda want to write down. The "Visceral Reaction" post is part of that. There are also other things that i have relating to this headcanon that i want to explain better. It will be funny if they actually give these two families and i have to scrap this headcanon entirely.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE! To celebrate in unusual fashion, I present a couple of ref pics for the last of my major Night Raven College OCs, at least for now. I have mentioned him time and time again, but never actually shown him off. Everyone…meet Grit Gravelle. Just like with Theodore and Maelstrom, this art was made by @twisted-brainrot. This was part of a trade that we arranged almost a year ago now; it was more than worth the wait. <3 Grit is based on the Nome King from the movie “Return to Oz” (who is, in turn, somewhat loosely based on the character of the same name from the original Oz books). Like many of my OCs, he is not all he seems at first glance: what you see before you is Grit’s human form. Grit is a half-human, half-Nome hybrid; Nomes, in this universe, are essentially rock monsters - Earth beings who dwell in caves under the ground, and are made of moving stone. They are also absolutely gigantic in size, and consider humans to be a natural form of prey. Grit’s father is a nobleman in the Nome Kingdom, and his mother is a human; the details of how they met and reproduced are sketchy, but as a result, Grit’s true form is a half-human, half-rock monster of gigantic proportions; able to swallow people whole in a single bite, if he chooses.

The word “duplicitous” best suits Grit’s personality. When you first meet him, he’s usually actually quite pleasant. He’s polite, amiable, helpful, and has a sort of impish charm at times; he seems like a pretty nice guy. All of this, however, is a total sham: underneath that seemingly benevolent exterior, Grit has a heart made of stone (perhaps literally). He is sadistic, sneaky, manipulative, and treacherous. He legitimately enjoys causing pain for others who cross him. You can’t trust him as far as you can throw him, and that’s not likely to be very far. However, he isn’t COMPLETELY evil, no more than any of the others at NRC: much of Grit’s cold-blooded untrustworthiness comes from the fact that he, himself, has a difficult time trusting others. More specifically, Grit has a hard time trusting humans and other surface-dwellers.

When Grit was a boy, he always harbored a sort of contempt and distrust for surface-dwelling people. He was envious of them, in some ways, and repulsed by them in others. However, he has always deeply cared for his human mother, Emma. His mother is blind, and Grit is very, VERY protective of her. He sees her as the finest human in the universe, and the only human to whom he shows REAL respect and affection.

Grit’s Unique Magic is called “Ornamentation.” This power allows him to transform any living creature - plant or animal - into a small sculpture; an ornament. The spell can only be broken either by Grit’s direct choice, or by someone placing their hand upon the ornament and speaking the person’s name.

A few fun facts to note: Grit’s stomach actually glows, and this glow is visible through his skin. Inside his belly, his stomach juices have a naturally fluorescent orange hue, almost resembling lava, and his stomach muscles are colored black, with glowing red veins and arteries creating zig-zagging patterns, almost resembling fissures in cooling molten rock. However, his mouth and part of the way down the throat resemble a normal human maw and gullet (minus his sharp, fang-like teeth). Also, I decided to make Grit a big muscular beefcake because…well…it made him different from all my other OCs, really. I had several who were sort of slender and curvaceous, and a couple who were different degrees of plump and chubby, so I thought making him have “rock hard abs” would not only be fun for the sake of silly wordplay, but help to make him different from the rest of the cast. TB was kind enough to draw Grit not only in his “casual” outfit, but also topless, so you can get a nice look at those muscles, and the glow from his belly.

hello, I would like to talk about my Fable 3 OC, Carolina.

Very fashionable, but also socially conscious. She broke the "tradition" of royals getting a new wardrobe every season, she's the first Queen to re-wear formal gowns and then establish a rotating permanent collection at the National Museum where the proceeds go to a different charity each quarter.

She's also the only other Royal to enter and win then Bloodstone Boxing Tournament (the first was her mother).

Ignores the rumors that Walter Beck is actually her father, because even though she doesn't really remember her parents- she's seen film footage/pictures and can definitely see the resemblance.

was a Party Princess during high school/college, there were a few times her brother had to give her A Look because of photos the tabloids ran.

Loves dogs. Scout is her constant companion and she loves to just let him loose in the palace lawn so he can run around. Her Instagram is just full of dog pictures as well.

you once again woke up in the now familiar royal surroundings, the morning sun rays peeking from the curtains and fading in the big mirror hung on one of the decorated walls.

you looked to the side, your familiar figure still sleeping peacefully under the covers.

you guessed you changed again, this night.

“yn?” your voice echoed in the room, followed by a “oh” of realization by sunghoon.

“good morning,” you answered back.

(s)he sat up on the bed, gently massaging his temples.

“slept well?” he hummed in response. “good.”

you took a moment to think about last nights events, sunghoon asking you out and then you and both of your friends celebrating after the concert.

“you know, i really enjoyed myself in the past months.”

sunghoon turned to look at you. “you know, switching.” he hummed, once again.

“i think it’s time for us to put an end to that.”

he sighed. “yeah, you’re right.” he paused. “how?”

“let’s get something to eat first, m’kay?”

you placed your cup of freshly made orange juice on the table, cleaning the corners of your mouth with a napkin.

“i think i have an idea.”

“i’m listening.”

“remember when we were at the huening’s? and i showed you my ring?” a hum from sunghoon’s part encouraged you to go on. “i think it has something to do with all this weird stuff. it has to be the rings.” sunghoon stood there with a fuzzy expression, furrowing his eyebrows.

“bring yours here.” he didn’t move an inch, only furrowing furthermore his eyebrows.

“come on, hurry up, jagiya!” it probably was the pet name, but sunghoon finally decided to stand up and head to his room.

he soon came back with a small ring, adorned with a small blue stone. then he raised his hand, the same ring but with a red gem on your ring finger. sunghoon took it out, placing both of them on the table.

“what happens now.” sunghoon shifted in his chair.

“i don’t know, try touching it?”

you moved them around, yet nothing, sunghoon also giving a try himself.

“wait, remember when you kissed my hand?” sunghoon nodded, his ears slowly turning a soft shade of red. “let’s recreate that scene.”

you stood up, proceeding to walk over the other side of the table and kneeling down on your knee. you took your ring, holding sunghoon’s hand and putting it on. you gave him one last look, before bringing his hand up to the height of your chin and placing a soft kiss on top of it.

“oh, something’s happening.” you stood back up, the ring suddenly emanating a weird acute sound.

“is this some kind of sailor moon shit cause it’s not funny.”

“sunghoon, shut up.”

black flashes before your eyes, causing you to close them. when you blink again, the person in front of you isn’t you anymore, but sunghoon.

“we did it?”

you smiled cheerfully, standing up to hug sunghoon. he immediately hugged you back, lifting you up from the ground to spin you around.

he put you down upon hearing a camera clicking, so you both turned around. his mother sneakily took a picture of the two of you.

“you both are so pretty!”

heat arose to your cheeks, and you politely thanked her.

“mom! you scared me.” sunghoon pouted, going to place a peck on her cheek. “but can you send me the pic you took of us?”

He’s shirtless, and the caveman part of your brain echoes something closely resembling AWOOOGA!, but...but!...blonde hair, blue eyes. You pout again, “I don’t...I don’t really like blond boys, ya know? With the blue eyes and all, it’s just not my thing, uhm, unless it’s like-like...Armin from Attack on Titan. Else I don’t care.”

Some opened with asking for nudes out right, some asked about your day first before asking for nudes. You prefer the former. Straight to the point! You admire the gall. 

But then, down the forty-five minute mark a profile popped up that made you still by your phone, your smile dying as your eyes bulged. Dear God. Lord in heaven. Who is this demonspiit lookalike and why is he so fucking hot? The neck tats, the skateboard, the clothes- holy shit, you gotta close your mouth before some drool dribbles out.

No bio, just his name, Tyler, and that he’s 23.

What can you do? Suddenly becoming color blind is not easy. Once the stream ends, you unmatch with everyone expect Tyler. He you chat with for a bit, but a sudden craving for different company makes you abandon him, too. You don’t feel too heartbroken for him- you’re certain there’s already too many girls in his dms. You wish them luck.

Happily, you delete Tinder. You go to Twitter, notice you’re trending again- look at you go! Queen shit- and as you compose a thank you tweet, something strange happens. You go to text Corpse, but when you click on his profile you grow cold.

YOU’RE BLOCKED. You can’t follow or see @/Corpse_Husband ‘s Tweets. 

...Pardon? You hop onto Instragram and-also blocked. Seriously? And you thought you’re one petty bitch. Corpse is seriously prissy about everything. Damn, if he didn’t like your stream, he could’ve just said so. Didn’t need to, like, block you from his internet existence. So not cool.

You try texting him but no text go through. Well how will you let him know you deleted Tinder just like he asked? You relieve your frustrations by punching your pillow a few times. Later, you apologize to her, you didn’t mean to hurt her, it’s not her, it’s you. Fuck, 5 minutes of exile and you’re already loosing your mind.

“Raeeeeeeeeeeee!” You whine loudly. It’s roughly 2am now, but you don’t care. You’re too heartbroken to care. There’s a thump from her room, but nothing else, “Raeeeeeeeee!!!” You wail, wallowing in self-pity on your bed. You hear a very loud, very annoyed sigh from her room, followed by angry marching. Your door is abruptly thrown open, and in the dim, colorful light you see her scowl.

“What?” She grits.

“Can you please tell Corpse to unblock me from everything?”

“What did you do now?”

“I made fun of men on Tinder.”

She pauses, “...That doesn’t sound so bad.” She surmises, voice laced with suspicion, “What else?”

“...There was one really hot guy that I kinda sorta talked to after--”

“Y/n.”

“-But I totally deleted Tinder and honestly he was pretty boring, so, like, uhm, please?”

So out of nowhere I was tagged and quoted by a SR shipper for a blog of mine posted in August of last year. Talk about throwback but, hey, gotta appreciate that level of snooping. 😉

Back in the day I actually used to encourage discourse amongst Inuyasha fans- both shippers and antis alike- but I've since realized that it's a lost cause. But for you, @feministmetalgreymon , I'll grant this exception. Just 'cause it's been a while so why the hell not. haha

I want to assure you, however, that nothing you say will ever convince me that Sesshomaru and Rin are meant to be together romantically or that the story intended it so. Nor will you find any validation here. You can ship them for all I care, but please for all that is good and holy while I have your attention try- I mean really try- to understand why it is so many of us Inuyasha fans are so against this pairing in the first place (newsflash: it's not about ship wars), and why we believe a romance between the two of them is completely and utterly out of character.

For those of you interested in reading this, the blog of mine in question that the above shipper mentions in their counter-argument is here for reference. It's titled "Jaken = Rin's Dad?" I'm going to try and keep this short, but I'm also making no such promises. After all, I'm not exactly known for my brevity. haha Now let's get crackin'!

Like you, feministmetalgreymon, did for your recent blog here where you took screenshots of mine to address certain parts, I will be doing the same and dissecting yours accordingly.

I worked with kids for many years as a teacher, and many people in my family have too or still do. Two of them happen to be just over 5 feet which is quite short for the average adult woman living here. I've also worked alongside many a women of short stature, and never did I hear any of them complaining of issues with their students having difficulty differentiating them from their own peers just because they were short as well. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. Kids are quite smart and pick up on a lot more than you seem to give them credit for. Height is not the only characteristic they look at to determine who's an adult and who's not, and it's foolish to suggest otherwise. So unless you're a babysitter who's still in their teens and/or who has very childlike features or behavior then I'm afraid what you're getting at is total hogwash. This is just another example of how you shippers offer nothing of real substance to your reasoning, it's only ever cherry-picking or strawmanning from you guys. Stop deflecting from the real issues please, because this certainly isn't one and only winds up being a complete waste of time for all parties involved.

Okay, calm down now. I wasn't insinuating that relationships between parents and children can't change over time in terms of how they get along. Of course that's possible, as all families experience their fair share of estrangement and abuse. What I was speaking about was in reference to the overall dynamic between the two. Because a bad mother or father can still be viewed as a parental figure to their child even if say they're not in said child's life anymore. Since Sesshomaru and Rin share a healthy bond- and just a friendly reminder that in my blog I even said that he doesn't have to necessarily be labeled her father but that a romantic relationship later would still be inappropriate- I didn't deem it necessary to address what you brought up. Plus, it kinda, umm, misses the point?? Please, let's stay on topic. And it's not captured in the screenshot, but stop acting like there isn't a small part of them that idolizes their parents at some point during childhood. Just like you mention later on how it's normal for kids to have innocent crushes on adults that they eventually grow out of? Well, guess what, the same concept applies here. Kids eventually learn that their parents are far from perfect and make mistakes too. Rin is so damn young in the OG series though that we never even get to see her reach that maturity level.

LOL! Alright, okay, so the "unbreakable bond" bit you're mentioning was actually me quoting you sessrinners. Did you not catch that? I literally spelled it out. *sigh* The whole point I was making is that shippers like yourself make hypocritical and contradictory statements all.the.goddamn.time. One moment you guys claim that Sesshomaru and Rin were essentially strangers and meant very little to each other, only to say in the same breath a few seconds later that they were destined to be together and their bond is like no other. I agree, their bond is special, but why must that mean they're going to fall in love?

That is the root of the matter here. Too many animes/mangas have romanticized this older adult man & young girl growing up falling in love trope that it's become way too normalized and widely accepted across the world- and yes, in some cultures more than others. Sadly, you lack the awareness to recognize how this all works. You know how we know that? When we see that you shippers are so desensitized to sexualized images of girls in the media that you share posts like this one below which *subtly* imply a future romance although one half of that pairing is still just a child in the pic and then try and pass it off as cute. That's like super fucking problematic and it scares me that you can't see that (or deny you do). 🤢

After all that's said and done, Sesshomaru leaving Rin in the village with Kaede is to me the strongest indicator more than pretty much anything else he's done for Rin that proves he is her adoptive father. It's so funny to me how you somehow see the exact opposite though. 🤔 What I think is happening is that you got yourself on some squeaky clean ass shipper goggles fresh out of your little echo chamber. Because I hate to tell you, but what you're fantasizing is what you want to see and not what's actually there on screen or was written into the story. I'm strictly talking about Inuyasha and the manga of course. [For the TL; DR version skip to the last paragraph.]

Parents looking after their kids is what parents are supposed to do. A good parent will do anything to keep their child safe and ensure they are cared for, so what he did for her by leaving her there was in her best interests clearly. Besides, as a babysitter, you more than most people should understand that parents aren't always able to be there for their kids so sometimes others gotta step in to help. Haven't you heard of the saying, "it takes a village to raise a child?" Which in Rin's case is literally true! 😂 Sometimes kids are even sent off to stay with grandparents and that's who raises them instead. Or maybe they have to temporarily live with an aunt or uncle because their single parent's job requires they work out of town 4-5 days of the week so they're hardly home. But that doesn't mean that the parents care or love their kids any less, and it's foolish to assume that Sesshomaru must have thought very little of Rin simply due to the fact that he made the decision to leave her in the village. Come on, y'all are acting like he abandoned her there!!

It's just given the circumstances Sesshomaru finally came to learn that Rin traveling with him was no longer safe. I also like to think it's because he wished for her to live a more normal life and to learn how to fully trust humans again. Plus, continuing to travel with him as young as she was would have proven dangerous and unwise. Now for you to know all this and still manage to turn his past actions towards her while she was just a child into a romantic gesture is what boggles my mind. Regardless of how you look at it, from my perspective or your own, Sesshomaru is in the wrong. Either he's a father figure who impregnates his daughter at the young age of approximately 14. OR he's this man she used to travel with who maybe isn't a father to her but who nonetheless basically rapes her since kids her age can't consent to sex with an adult. Idk about you but it sounds to me like nobody here wins with either scenario we're given. In other words, you should be just as mad as we are. If only one side didn't choose to forsake their morals they know we both have in common for the sake of a ship. Welp. 🤷‍♀️

I agree, incest is disgusting but that's not the only problem we have with this pairing. A romantic bond forming between Sesshomaru and Rin would also constitute as grooming.

You realize that over the years he visited her in the village that he brought her gifts too and essentially watched her grow up right before his very eyes, right? I mean, I know you do, but I really shouldn't have to explain further why pursuing a romantic/sexual relationship with each other is plain and simple wrong. And before you say it's not because he didn't have any malintent, please understand that considering their history and power dynamic up to then that yes this is still considered grooming even if Rin supposedly "wanted it" or "made the first move." Whether you consider him her father or not, as the adult who took on a role resembling that of a caretaker in her early life- a critical developmental time for a child- Sesshomaru is obligated to turn down any advances by Rin and most definitely should not initiate any himself. As the first close adult figure she's had in her life since her parents died, it's unfathomable to imagine how Sesshomaru could go through with taking advantage of this young girl who was under his care and supervision since they met. To think he could be capable of betraying that trust sickens me to the core.

This. Now THIS is how a parent/guardian or a similar adult caretaker (babysitter, teacher, etc.) talks to a child. And, in turn, this is how some young children talk to adults. You'd be insane and delusional to deny it! We see it in our everyday lives, do we not? From where else do you think our stories draw most of their inspiration? Yes, obviously these fictional universes have aspects of fantasy that don't exist in the real world, but so how then do you suppose we're able to relate to them? The reason for that being is because these stories are written by people for people, so naturally there are going to be real life aspects embedded throughout. Sure, a little escapism doesn't hurt as we don't need to take everything so seriously, but ultimately we all need to recognize that the messages in the stories we tell matter. Most stories possess a combination of both light and dark themes, but when it specifically comes to the latter we gotta be careful with how we tackle this in children's media since kids are far more impressionable.

So if at the center of a story we have two of the main protagonists whose mom is basically their same age and to top it off she knew their dad when she was just a girl and who just so happened to help raise her, wouldn't you say that's beyond fucked up or at the very least so fucking weird? Like why would we think it's even remotely okay for our children to watch this garbage?? Really think about it. Try and be objective for once and think about how it would sound explaining this storyline to an outsider who's never watched IY or HNY. Well, antis have tried this before many times and we always get the same reaction: Ewww!

Like I said earlier, if you wanna ship it then fine, but 1) please stop seeking our approval or trying to change our minds - your ship wish came true didn't it, so why do you need us to validate it? 2) even though it's not canon, respect that we don't support this sequel portraying pedophilia in a positive light. It's harmful af to not only allow but glorify the continuation of sexualized images of young girls everywhere. And I shouldn't have to say this, but just because this trope is popular as you say does not make it right. Lolicon themes in the media have been an issue forever and it needs to stop. Yes, even some people in Japan or "the East" would agree. Shocker!

We're pissed off and rightfully so because Yashahime's TV rating is 14, not to mention it airs at the prime time kids in Japan watch TV after getting home from school. That's Towa and Setsuna's age, true, but if Rin being the mom when she's like only a year older than them (please don't argue w/ me about the math- antis have so far been right every time with it) is straight-up disgusting and not something we should be supporting or endorsing. Rin's a whole ass child!! Please don't start with the "but times were different then so her having kids at 15 is acceptable" argument either, because we've already debunked that and every other single excuse you guys throw at us. Besides, how or why would you expect young viewers to know these historical "facts" anyway, especially if as you suggest fiction doesn't affect reality so what does it matter? Yet here we are, arguing over a fictional show in real life almost a year and a half into the "Sesshomaru fucks?" sequel being announced. My ass, your ass, hell all our asses fiction doesn't affect reality!

SR shippers there are the actual worst and many Inuyasha fans (not just antis) have complained of not feeling welcomed to engage in fandom spaces anymore. Shippers swarm them and scare them off simply because fans don't like your ship and refuse to accept it. It's pathetic, really. No one should ever be bullied or harassed just because they don't like something you might. We're all fans of Inuyasha, aren't we? So let's act like it. Yashahime on the other hand, you guys are welcome to that pungent heap of trash. Fans have a right to criticize it too, but if you like it then good for you, so keep on liking it and don't mind us.

I'm almost done, but real quick back to Jaken! Let's not forget about how the official Yashahime website- which came out after my blog, mind you- described Jaken. This translation isn't the best one available but it's the only version a fellow anti friend could track down. They do recall a better one done by a native Japanese speaker who was also an anti, and that member confirmed that Jaken is indeed called Rin's babysitter. So you see, I was right in my interpretation. In the original post I did compare Jaken to a brother, but after talking to others (some comments can be found under said post) I did acknowledge that he's more of a reluctant babysitter who's not related. And if he's not at least a brother to Rin, then he's definitely not her father.

At the end of the day, the creator Rumiko Takahashi has the final word. Which is guess what? Hogosha. 💖 Probably should've just started out with that and saved us all the trouble, huh? Good day/night to you.

Will and the car on fire (theories)

*this is just under the assumption this is Will in the pic and not some other character. Which is still very possible .

Why it could be Will (it's for sure possibly not)

But, most of the rebuttals saying it's not Will are iffy. Cause we really don't have much evidence to point to any 1 character. Like the hair counterargument: that the hair is too long to be Will's .Will's s4 body double has a similar hair tuff on the back of his neck. And we know st uses camera shots of the back of Will's neck/silouette ,in past seasons . So doing so here could make sense. And Will of course is the most associated with fire: using fireball for Will the wise in s1 (3 times), the will the wise drawing from s2 had flames on his cloak, Will being being burned in s2,etc.

So...Will looking at lightning. And (Will?) looking at fire. Both have a dark full body sillhouete and red in the forefront .

We also see this character is possibly wearing a watch like Will?

And i've been hearing this a lot here ... but southern california (where the Byers are) does have a lot of trees lol. Not sure why people think otherwise.But, regardless a trip from cali to Hawkins would most certainly have some forrest.

So theories...

Theory 1) It's Joyce's car ( and it was rigged  to explode/look like an accident by Brenner or Lonnie). And Will wasn't there but sees it in a nightmare cause it's already happened/or it's a dream vision of the future.

Evidence:  CAR TROUBLES: Joyce’s car model was infamous for exploding in car accidents-being sued by the state of Indianna before the start of the series. We also have Alexi tell murray about a way to cause cars to explode-and turn people into dust (and make it look like an accident). Brenner’s name means “to burn” and he already hurt 1 mother to keep a subject -so not out of the realm of possibilities for him to hurt Joyce (and make it look like an accident to try and get Will and or el). 

In s3, we have Jonathan and Hopper try and fix  the car-and after this cars explode with people inside. Jonathan lifts the car hood- and notices someone rigged nancy’s car . Than,  right after,Billy’s car lights on fire with him inside. With Hopper (he also lifts the car hood) and joyce barely escapes the lit car (but she may not be so lucky next time).

 We also have Joyce tell Will 3x she’s going to be ok... which is a bit overkill if she will be OK ... 

And, notice during the hoodlift we see Will observing- which is similar to Alexi watching and warning them before hand that the car (with Joyce inside) will explode. So it’s possible foreshadowing since Will may predict the future and was was paralleled to Alexi.Alexi ‘can we watch lonnie toons now?. Will : can we play d&d now?

movie inspos: 

It’s hinted s4 will be around Will’s b day: In gilbert grape- Arnie after his b day, has his mom die, and a fire was stagged that lit his mom on fire. ( Before this,Arnie was also raised by his older brother Gilbert cause his dad wasn’t around). stoker-  kid’s parent dies in staged car ‘accident’ on her bday (this allows ab*sive relative closer to kid-since dead parent banned him from seeing kid). The kid  was taught how to hunt, by dad. And is also a painter and bullied at school (like Will). what dreams may come-painter blames themselves for fam dying in freak car accident- the relative was getting a present for them when it happened. so they blame themselves. The descent- also had (right before a b day, the main character’s fam dying in a car accident) .And the sole survivor/family member of the deceased hallucinates a shadow chasing her in a empty hospital hall. Get out-photographer (jonathan)blames himself for mother dying in car accident.

There’s also a lot of other films where the kid (for no logical reason) blames themselves for their mom’s/parent’s death: goodson, dream catcher, analyse this,etc. Of course ... this could simply relate to max and el having survivors guilt after the mall killed their family members (in a fake ‘mall fire’). However, a fake out fire causing  family to die (in s3)  could be foreshadowing for it actually happening in s4?

rigged car explosions: scarface -have guys try and bomb a car with kids and parent inside. backdraft -guy raised by older brother had 1 parent die in explosion and sees the freak explosion occur- later in the film someone rigs a car to explode and masks it as a  freak car accident. Same thing occurs in godfather- he sees family member die in rigged car explosion. The dark knight- rigs car to explode. batman v superman- calls superman a demon and says they need to burn the witch that bore him (aka his mom).

dreams (if in the past): Never ending story (reffed in s3)- starts with kid with bowl cut saying he had another dream about his mother who died. Peanut butter solution- kid has visions in dreams about people he knew who died in fire.  this next movie (emily rose) is  said to be Joyce byers inspo according to Winona - has (kid with 2 personalities) have nightmares from the past  of her and her mother burning in a car fire. while screaming/sleep walking she burns windows with her hands -accidentally using her powers. Some people suspect the videogame “life is strange’ is show inspo too- it has character named max caufield with a ‘never maxine rule’, etc. Anyways in the game prequel queer chloe, who plays d&d, would have dreams/nightmares of her nice parent’s car accident . Despite , chloe not being present for the car accident. After the parent’s death,  she’s stuck with her mean step dad.

dreams (if predicting the future): Will says in s3 Will the wise can see into the future. We also see Will/Will the wise via a dream predict Hopper was in danger-saying  to Joyce “he’s going to die”.  In ‘12 monkeys’ and ‘Rebel Robin st novel’ they mention the myth of cassandra- who could make accurate future prophecies , but was cursed to never be believed by those she warned. In 12 monkeys- he tries warning others of a dreaded event in future- and it’s dismissed as  him being mentally ill. Since, Will’s other abilities were dismissed as his ptsd in s2-and with the Byers fam having a family history of mental illness (they may not believe him over such a prediction). In ‘the ring’-the  movie opens with the guardian saying the boy is drawing the car accident that killed his mom -as a psychological coping mechanism. Only for the teacher to say he made that drawing before his mother’s death (and it’s revealed later the boy is psychic). Terminator 2- sarah conner says she is having future visions, which include explosions, and everyone dismisses it as her being schizophrenic. Like how in s2 a scientist said about Will “let’s see if this boy is a wizard or a schizo”.

If joyce survives the accident she may be hospitlized (and unable to have legal custody). In black swan the girl (with 2 personas) -blames herself for what happened to Winona Ryder’s character (who is in a coma after a car accident. They had had a verbal fight before the accident). In girl with the dragon tattoo- the main character (who is compared to a phoenix and dragon) has 1 parent burned in a fire- and after this her kind guardian is hospitilized so they can no longer take care of her- and she is placed with an ab*sive foster dad (who resembles her bio dad). If Joyce was in a coma - it would further parallel her to terry- and be another willel parallel.

 if dead: Tokyodrift- mom loses custody, and dad who is a mechanic and abandoned the family years ago, later gets custody. Super 8-mom dies in freak accident- douche dad gets custody. Book of henry-mom dies pre-film, ab*sive dad got custody. Outsiders- parents die in car wreck, relative gets custody of teen who he slaps etc.In black swan-girl who blames herself for Winona’s accident is stuck living with ab*sive parent. good son- mom dies, stuck with violent and manipulative relative after this.

Of course-joyce may be fine. And Lonnie may just visit for Will’s b-day and ruin shit that way.

Theory 2) It's an undercover government car that Will uses his powers against in self defense... or in anger after they hurt someone he loves.

Evidence:

Joyce about ‘Will the wise’: If he’s so wise, why does he need the fireballs? Why can’t he just outsmart the bad guys? Will: cause the bad guys are smart too. Joyce: so he needs the fireballs? Will: Yeah, to burn them to a crisp.

* the fact-this flashback happens at a funeral of a Byers, could also be narratively significant as foreshadowing.

Gov agents in s1 are  called “the bad-men” so Will may use fireball on “the bad-guys”(government agents) . Fire has been used on all the other adversaries relating to the upsidedown-so why not the gov agents (aka human villains) next? 2 movies on the inspo list caught my attention: firestarter & carrie (which are both stephen king adaptions with psychic kids who have fire abilities). 

Firestarter- she has pyrokineseis (firepowers) . And unlike every other psychic in the film- she is the only psychic that doesn't get nose bleeds (aka mini brain hemorages) from using her powers (Will). We know el and kali gets nose bleeds.  

(Anger): She only unleashes her fire abilities on gov agents after they kill her parent...

*And uses a literal “fireball” on them.

Could also be another willel parallel. kali about the US gov:" They took your mother away from you!" El str*ngles man from gov agency that incapacitated her mom . El before str*ngling him: " you hurt mama".

(self defense): While  in carrie  she kills people who tried to run her over with a car. And causes the car to explode.

Also, in s3 Steve does technically cause a car to explode to protect Nancy from being run over by a car (so maybe foreshadowing?). I believe, tumblr user ‘bran-who-writes-theoretically” was the first to point out the Carrie/car on fire parallel.

* This car scene could also be added to the list of Willel parallels. El  in s1 uses her powers to flip a government-car upside down. And looks back at it. And it’s a ref to the film Et. So Will causing a government -car to explode and flip upsidedown (referencing carrie) could be a parallel. 

Of course El flipped over a car in s3 to attack the Soviet agents and protect her friends too ( right before losing her powers). Sort of like Steve using his car as a weapon in s3 to protect his friends. so who knows, if not Will, maybe El (wearing a ponytail) got her telekenesis back and she flips the car and it explodes ? To be honest, I just find this explanation too boring, cliche, and predictable. And I still hypothosize the mindflayer took her telekensis (but not her other powers). Since in d&d mindflayers have ‘mage hand’ (what el is called) and ‘telekenesis’/ along with the ability to steal powers from other life forms. But, we’ll see...

Theory 3) The car flips (maybe caused by a deer jumping in the road) and it blows up after the crash- with Joyce inside. And maybe Jonathan survives it/ Will wasn’t there but had a nightmare /vision about it?

Evidence: in s1 Jonathan sees a dead deer that was hit by a car. This could be symbolic : because it related to Jonathan mentioning the hunting story with his dad and how he cried for a week cause he liked the film Bambi. Which in the film : Bambi (a deer) has his mother k*lled. And after his mother’s death, he’s taken in by his douchey dad who was M.I.A for most of his life ,until his mom passed away. And the hunters are the bad guys in the film . In ‘get out’ the photographer , Chris,blames himself for his mother dying in a car accident - and he sees a dead deer hit by a car -and the dying deer was used to symbolize the guilt he has over his mother’s  death. in ‘the long kiss goodnight’ a character is driving home with a friend- they swerve and hit a deer and 1 of them is ejected from the car into the forrest. But their friend is unconscious in the car and it quickly explodes on the road. The survivor turns and sees the car in flames- disoriented they stumble and kill the dying deer. And it’s left ambiguous if they were helping the deer end it’s pain or if it was vengeful-hunting (since it caused the car accident that killed their friend). Cause their face was emotionless from shock.

Even in the st novel "suspicious minds' rabbits- like jonathan was forced to kill on the hunting trip with his dad (around his b-day) represented the bond between mother and child.And the mother sacrificing herself for the baby-to not get k*lled (by Brenner).

-so maybe?? jonathan before he gets the pizza job/car (may have his car break down , like hinted it would in s3).

 So him and Joyce share the car (once his car stops working) and the accident happens while Jonathan is behind the wheel -with Joyce. And after this he gets the job at surfer boy pizza. Billy was a surfer boy and that memory was used to think about his mother who is no longer around (once he's stuck with his ab*sive dad after moving away from Cali). While Jonathan moved to Cali after his mom passed-maybe stuck with Lonnie.Jonathan's actor in recent pics has a blonde mullet - which sort of resembles joyce/Billy's og hair. This may be why he starts doing dr*gs - which is pretty out of character for him- but it could be a coping mechanism(like in the s4 films). One of many examples was 'enter the void'- the older brother was surrogate parent to their lil sibling and after a car accident k*lls his parents , he starts doing dr*gs to cope. Also ‘hunger games’ was on the list- and Katniss (who was a surrogate parent to her litle sibling, like Jonathan is to Will) in the sequel, saw her family die in an explosion. And it really broke her emotionally.

I've mentioned this before but Billy is used to parallel and foil Will and Jonathan. And it may be more than a ... what if Lonnie had custody scenario. But to show how Lonnie (like most ab*sers) will later bring out the worst in the kids (once he does have custody). Like how s3 has Will mimick lonnie with the baseball bat (and we see in s3 Billy being bullied by his dad to play baseball and flashbacks showing him mimicking Neil). I've also discussed how there's a theme with pretty much every character mimicking their parent- for better or worse.

Killing a deer would certainly hint at Jonathan's possible character regression (and mimicking Lonnie to a certain extent). if he not only blames himself for Joyce's death. But is also stuck with his ab*ser.

The animal k*lling motif , and after that, mimicking an a b*sive father is already shown with el. Brenner , in s1,tried to make her k*ll a cat (using her powers) and she refused (similar to the s1 rabbit hunting story of Lonnie forcing Jonathan to k*ll a rabbit ). But in s2, she uses her powers to k*ll a squirrel (and like a deer- it's typical hunting game). Than in s3 el does literally everything Brenner ever asked of her- she spies on people and repeats the words back (like brenner told her to do), she becomes a weapon to ‘fight the commies’ (which was said to be the reason he k*dnapped her in the first place), and when looking into the void to see the mf (she mirrors the words brenner told her - when he made her go into the void to face the demogorgan).

And some s4 movies are literally about being trapped in a house with your ab*ser and slowly losing your mind because of the ab*se and gaslighting- lighthouse , black swan , good son, are prime examples. But movies like scar face , girl with the dragon tattoo, and book of Henry touch on this theme a bit as well. And ordinary people- is about a guy who survived a vehicular accident but his relative in the same accident didn't- and it causes him alot of issues /survivor's guilt.

The shadowy figure could just be Will in the shot - seeing it in a dream before or after it happens?

Theory 4) Will sees a future vision or has his ’now memories’ of someone else's car.

Evidence: i guess the s4 shot parallels El (in s3) spying on Billy while he’s hurting Heather. During that spying scene: the shot is of El near Billy's car. So it’s possibly a diff willel parallel?

If not Will. Who knows ...if El’s telekenesis is gone maybe her spying abilities strengthened and look different because of it (and now she can see background details)?

Theory 5) it's Lonnie's car and Will escapes from the trunk and uses his powers in self defense

Evidence: I’m pretty iffy on this one. This goes back to how people suspected Lonnie took Will in s1 (and could be foreshadowing). Even the recent rebel robin book-has characters say Lonnie probably took Will. Jonathan suspected Will may be at Lonnie’s - so checks Lonnie’s car trunk (to see if Will is there). We also see how the mf in s3, knocked people out by dr*gs/str*ngulation, ties them up, and throws them in a trunk (to k*dnap them). Or how the cops raided jonathan’s trunk- which had stuff to track the demogorgan (and the demogorgan parallels Lonnie) . And after looking in Jonathan’s trunk-they suspected something fishy is going on.

*heather was described as “another me” by Will- who was thrown in the trunk.

movies: “tangled” was on the s4 list- and had an ab*sive parent later try and kidnap their kid ,and that parent ends up dying. in girl with the dragon tattoo (the girl associated with dragons & phoenixes-  lights her  ab*sive bio dad on fire. In ‘drop dead fred’ (girl who is in love with childhood friend, named Mikey, who she met at age 5) lights a imaginary version of her ab*sive parent on fire - while in a trippy memory world. Chrissy accidentally lights her ab*sive relative (nickname “daddy”)  on fire in self defense- in a trippy hell memory scape. in ‘long kiss goodnight- the girl with 2 personalities (Will/will the wise) was kidnapped and put in a trunk and escapes by jumping into a quarry. Not sure if that could relate to a flashback or something else? like in ‘don’t breath’ the older sibling who essentially was a surrogate parent to the younger sibling-mentions how their dad left the family, and her parent would throw her in the trunk for hours as a punishment.

Okay, the promised is debt.let"s talk about Gintaka moments!!!

I said a long time ago I was gonna do a compilation of Gintaka/Takagin moments. And I will deliver right now! (op skimmed the jp twitter and is excited/can’t wait to see the movie )

Ok, no, this will be mostly my disorganized headcanons, moments where I can see the ship with my shipper googles on, some paralels? Haha, honestly just to show the ship some love!!!

It’s also my perspective on why I love this ship!!

Of course, I'm going to talk about all the series and go back and fort, so there’s going to be spoilers all around, so if you have not seen the manga end, best skip it.

The rest is under the cut, let’s go!!!!!

So, I started shipping  Gintaka/Takagin  after the Shougun Assasination arc, best  strangled friends story I have ever seen.  I like a lot of Gintoki ships, but it became my favourite really fast. Then, looking back, I noticed these haha:

the first meeting in the show (ep 17). I know it was threatening, but watching it again the fireworks exploded over their heads as they met.Isn’t that  a romantic troupe? (and also in this scene makes Takasugi face scarier, haha). And also how Gintoki stopped Takasugi blade, so obvious for point one that they knew each other.(the interactions here are so painful in retrospective 'When his father saw his son's head, imagine the rage he felt?😭')

(and then there’s also , in the extra episode where the yoroyuza go to China, they help a poor dude with his first date with a girl, and Gintoki comments how the first date  should have fireworks, haha, at the time there were some images on pixiv of child Gintoki and child Takasugi seeing the fireworks together, it was so lovely, good headcanon!)

There's the Senbonsakura arc, and Takasugi appearing at the reunion scene looking at the moon, woah (there's also them crossing paths, but that's more dramatic of the ideologies maybe, still this a shipping post so ' them crossing paths there, the athmosphere of fated (rivals) people!!!')

I like how even as they are different their core is the same, even if not these character are so raw together in their feelings

Let's talk about the movies for a moment: in the movie version of the Benizakura arc, Gintoki dreams with Takasugi, and IDK, but for how haunting it is, it also feels intimate, and that makes it hurt most.

About the second movie when we saw it we didn't know what the hell happened to Takasugi, but looking back he's dead by that time....maybe. (why didn't you give us a clear answer at the end sorachi).Okay but for practical purposes of what the cast knows he's dead (maybe...ahhh let's says it's like that) and well, haha, gintoki of the future dying looking at the sunset haha don't think of him daydreaming things.(When I saw the movie I had the impression that takasugi was dead, for both katsura clothes that are not called as a joke, and future gintoki 'the only one that can kill me is me', if takasugi was alive, he wouldn't let gintoki claim that so hypotrically, that's what I believed.)

There's the mini arc of the underseas dragon palace, (I remembered this one because of takasugi 'monster' form) I'm just gonna said that even if I read too much into ot there are some interesting paralels maaaaaybe, this one is a strech.

Talking about far fetched things, you people remember the Love Chorris arc? The one with the virtual girlfriends game? I think I am not the first person to point this out, but if you analyze Gintoki girl:

Gintoki selects her and (accidentally)kills her son.After that, she is bend of killing him in return in revenge. With his son corpse at her back to haunt him too.

She later confesses to him that she knew he wasn't at fault for her sons death, and that she focused on blaming him to be able to handle the pain, that she's grateful of Gintoki for understanding this.

The spirit of her son aproves their relashionship.

Now tell me this doesn't remain you of someone in particular and his relashionship with gintoki. And this is gintoki mind perspective and hopes, and fears.

(Well it probably isn't that deep, its the chorris arc, but still)

The way you can see Sakamoto’ jokes as a friend teasing because he knows they like each other. The fight when they to a red district gaining another lining.

The rajuko arc, when they exchanged blades to save the other newfound friends/family. The fucking red string of blood that they form together.

In the manga there was the famous saying attributted to takasugi historical counterpart :

'I want to kill all crows in the three thousand world, and sleep in with my heart's master'

This if I remember correctly because crows caw mark the morning, and in a brothel you have to leave.

So the meaning is ' I want to kill all crows in three thousand worlds(so that morning never comes) and sleep/stay in (forever) with my heart' master'

(Of course this could refer to shouyo, but it could be about gintoki, they go directly to meet the other)

It's a famous saying used in songs, I believe.

The part when he doesn’t want to see more rain, its of course because seeing gintoki's crying was imprinted in his mind for so long and influenced how he thinks. He is so important to him!!

And of course the final arc, where they are more open to each other,(the strangled friends are so happy to be together again) both Takasugi who finally let go of that 'burn the world down' and of Gintoki that walks besides him. The way Gintoki looks at Takasugi with a soft expression on his eyes. Matako ' I have never seen before Shinsuke sama with those eyes, I couldn't stop them'

The Glorious Days ending, that's when one (me) realises, 'oh ... this two care about each other and want to save the other' and while it isnt surprising for Gin, it was for Takasugi at the time.Rewatch the openings and endings in general, and see Takasugi place in them. IDK, he is usually the last alone waiting under the moon. And it gets me...cant really explain that.

The radio call, how we couldn’t see gintoki's initial reaction as Takasugi talked to him, gintoki even pretending not knowing (painfully bad) he didn’t know the other voice.

And of course the myriad moments in the final arc, Gintoki promply saying he is the one he wants to protect, the death sequence 'maybe we were just born under that kind of (tragic) star'

Gintoki teading takasugi that his parents would cry if they see the delincuent he is bringing home 🤣🤣.

Fuck, in the spin off Takasugi as a student novel, when he and Gintoki meet they can't keep the skit up, they talk directly to each other.

Also about the special episode, there's another...uh this is more of a paralel, and purely a headcanon, but here it goes: the yorozuya meet with kamui while trying to help a woman about her mother setting her up in blind dates, and in one moment she starts mothering both kamui and kagura and they get, well their eyes are animated different in that moment, and then they start listening to her. They were probably remainded of their own mother. And then I realised that I have seen Kamui make those eyes before (I will look for a pic, it's a very distintive shift), when talking to Takasugi. Is in one op too.

Of course the childhood friends dynamic. Regardless of nature, nobdy can deny the deep connection these two have.

Here’s Kamui and Kagura’s eyes when tehy get scold by the mother:

I remember thinking to myself at the time 'woah, Kamui shows a admiring expression with takasugi somentimes' and now I fully believe is a childlike more like expression because takasugi reminds him of his mother(subconsiously). I can see the resemblance, especially towards the end of the series. As Gintoki and Umibozuo paralel too(both of them act like Kagura's dads) I just....haha parallel things.

There's a hundred things more, I'm sure I'm forgetting some (may add in a reblog after). All their fucking dialogue with each other is so intense. I I just love this ship sooo much

Yes and no. 😉 I got a second one as a damaged box deal and he was who had to, um, lose his head.

I should note on the off-chance that somebody wants to make their own Mattobard, that the McFarlane Reverse Flash and Neca Flash Gordon do not have anything even remotely resembling similar neck pegs, which I didn’t know ahead of time, so this required some out-of-the-box thinking. Also: a hair dryer, a q-tip and a tiny piece of paper towel because I have no proper modding supplies at all. Necessity is the mother of invention, after all! I was shocked that actually worked but... it did! 😂😉

So, chapter 61 of CFC

Every time we see He Yu, I really want to do “I’ve had enough of this guy” meme but I don’t even want to spend energy on that, this is how tired I am of him.

XQC gets suspended from work because of all the righteous internet mob of nonsense (I love that university know it’s all nonsense but they need to have an image) and, of course, he takes it calmly (and the fact that he’s all “well, I’ve been messed up, so it will be a rest!” oh my GOD! And as always refuses to admit the truth behind what he did back then.)

And he walks out with his stuff and He Yu is there and just - GO AWAY!!!

And clearly, He Yu has progressed to “nobody can abuse him except for me” stage and is very upset XQC is suspended but I am just tired of him. And clearly he’s sexually obsessed and constantly staring at his trophy pics and...ahem to them...even as he refuses to admit he’s gay and hot for XQC but I am just tired of him. I am just very very tired of this dude. I have passed past finding him interesting and just want him to exit stage left forever and the story be about XQC and his finding some peace and happiness and He Yu being far away doing whatever the hell as long as I don’t have to read about it.

So, XQC has finally started putting things to the back of his mind after over a week of meds and smoking to help him forget but then HY is in front of him again and it all comes back and all his trauma activates again and HY touches his face (and XQC goes paper white at being touched, my heart!) and snarks at him being unemployed and is all “hahahah all the students are gonna think you and young men...” and just PLEASE DIE IN A CORNER SOMEWHERE, ПОЛНЫЙ ПРИДУРОК!!!!

He Yu’s brain, which now resembles porridge, somehow has him now offering to support XQC because “well I banged you and even tho you weren’t the first and you weren’t good, I owe you” which it partially hilarious and partially I am using Russian words that would get my mother to wash my mouth out with soap. We all know it’s because HY is fixated on XQC and wants him, even as he doesn’t get it himself, though I think chances of him getting XQC into bed are about chances of me becoming queen of England. I love that even as he’s freaking out, XQC snarls at him about He Yu’s supposedly vast experience and terrible technique and HY is so horrified and embarrassed. Delish.

I love love love that XQC is by now so angry that he’s finally moved past the library and just wants to murder HY. Yes please. And then finally XX shows up and HITS He Yu because even without knowing all of what went on, she hears HY mocking XQC and god, I love that the little sister XQC brought up and protected is standing up for him and doing her best to protect him now and saying she can afford to support him. When MB mentions XQC feelings the softness in his chest at that YES FINALLY SOMEONE TAKES CARE OF HIM AND STANDS UP FOR HIM, SIBLINGS FOREVER, HIT HIM HARDER XX!!!

I think my rage at He Yu has reached such proportions though that the novel reading experience ceased to be enjoyable for me because all I want is for HY to go to jail off-page and for the story to be about XQC and co only, and every time I read about He Yu, I feel my blood pressure spike. My chapters are set on auto-buy at jjwxc so I will let them accumulate and come back in a week or two, in hopes either a miracle will happen and I will not want to murder He Yu or at the very least, having one concentrated long dose of rage is better than daily small doses of rage for weeks.

Interesting that you note that they really don’t look more like Inuyasha, when they’re half demons like him. Because legit, I honestly thought in the beginning with the promo pics that the kids were just humans. This was before seeing the first episode but one of my friend’s theories was that Sesshomaru had just adopted human kids. Now I know it’s not lol, but the point is, they looked THAT DIFFERENT… or at least inconsistent with the common dog demon physical attributes we’ve come to know. 

They had no visible dog demon features, like dog ears/pointed demon ears, magenta markings, pointed teeth… nope. Setsuna having dark blue/purple eyes??? Towa with red eyes.

So I think this means something important. They aren’t getting all of their demonic features from Sesshomaru. As much as I’d hate to admit it, I see Naraku’s characteristics. He was a half demon. But the demon features seen in his “family” like Byakuya and Kagura… the resemblance is uncanny with Setsuna and Towa. And I don’t know how to feel about that haha. I love Kagura. But I don’t want Naraku back… I lowkey wish she was her own person now but anyywayayyyyysss

It’s hard to find another explanation with their physical features being so,,, off from Sesshomaru/Inuyasha’s... if the mother was only human. I’m thinking the demon traits are dominant traits of inheritance, so if Sesshomaru’s baby momma was merely human… it would have been way more likely that the twins would just have golden eyes (example: Inuyasha). So why does not a single daughter have golden eyes? The fact that they have blue and red is so off. I can’t believe I dismissed this detail for so long and went along without saying a peep lol.

It never made any sense. It makes more sense now to say there is another demon “family” in play. And the fact that they smugly promoted Towa and Setsuna be half demons -I think this was to trick us. I ain’t forget: some people in Sunrise Productions accidentally letting Kagura having a human heart slip.. There’s also the half demon nature of Naraku.. It can all piece together without problem.

And physical appearance do give really good clues, at least for Yashahime, because I know Rumiko Takahashi, specifically took over the character design. She may have left the story writing to Sunrise, but she specifically took over the character design, and I trust that she made clever, well thought-out decisions.

Now that we have Miroku and Sango’s appearances in the present day, I figured I’d make some posts showing how characters look around different ages. The timeline in Yashahime is still vague, we still haven’t gotten any clarification if it has been 20 years or closer to 15 - 17 years since the Root Head Incident. For me, personally, I believe it has been between 15 - 17 years, and while anime isn’t always the most accurate at depicting character ages, I do think that you can see differences in character ages. What we’ve seen of Sango and Miroku can give us a clearer picture of character age progression, as well as where Hisui fits in to all of this:

First up, we have the guys, specifically: young Kohaku (from IY), Hisui, Miroku (Past - from the Root Head Incident), Kohaku (from HNY), and Miroku (Present - Ep. 13). All of the images come from the Yashahime Official Site (young Kohaku’s from the IY page).

Young Kohaku is likely depicted at his starting age of 11 on the site. He looks young. You can see it in every aspect of his design. Hisui, in a way, resembles Kohaku more than Miroku. He has the same eyes as Miroku, but everything else about physical appearance is more like his uncle. He looks older than young Kohaku, and even 14 year old Kohaku that we see in Ep. 1 of Yashahime, but there is still a youthfulness to his appearance as opposed to Miroku from Ep. 1 (pictured next to him).

Comparing past Miroku to his present depiction (all the way to the right, in white). We see that there is very little signs of his aging. Basically, the only thing that we get is a line under his eyes. But, honestly, that would be fitting for someone who is in their mid-30s. This is just a personal experience, but parents showed hardly any signs of aging until they started reaching their 40s. It would make sense that Miroku shows very little difference in his appearance if he is around 36 years old, rather than around 41 or older. 

The same goes for Kohaku. He has a scar on his face now, but outside of that, he is wrinkle free. He looks older, but still has a youthfulness about him. He doesn’t look as old as Miroku and doesn’t look to be mid-30s.

Now, for the female characters, specifically Sango, Kagome’s Mom (from IY), Kagome’s Mom (from Yashahime), Kaede (from IY), and Kaede (from Yashahime).

Outside of the pic of Kagome’s Mother from Inuyasha, all of the rest come from the Official Yashahime site (the Kaede picture with the red background come from the Inuyasha section).

An interesting thing to note, for Miroku, his profile was updated with a “Past” and “Present” image, but Sango’s profile wasn’t updated after Ep. 13. She’s basically had zero changes to her appearance. If she is in mid-30s or so, this would make sense. Kagome’s Mother in Inuyasha was (according to the Wikia page) 37 - 40 years old. This doesn’t really tell us much though, since a 20 year timeline would have Sango be around 39-40 years old, so her not aging much would fit.

The truly interesting bit comes when we look at Kagome’s Mother in Yashahime and Kaede. If we go with the 20 year timeline, then Kagome’s mother is 60 years old in Yashahime, around the same age as Kaede next to her in the original Inuyasha. If we go with a 15 year timeline, then she is 55, which is more in-line visually with her grey hairs. My parents are in their late 50s (around 58 or so) and it has been in these past couple years that I’ve really seen their age start to show. They are starting to look old. So while not as extreme as Kaede, normal, everyday people do start to look “old” once they reach 60. More grey hairs, more wrinkles, and etc. Basically, they start looking more like Kaede than Kagome’s Mother. 

I know that character ages and how they visually look don’t always match up. But, the 15 - 17 year timeline theory just seems to fit better with the small amount of visual difference and character aging that we do see. .Also, I mean, just look at Gyokuto:

Her appearance looks closer to Kagome (from Yashahime Ep. 1) than it does to Sango. Kagome is around 18 here and her appearance looks in-between the top row and bottom row. Gyokuto fits there too. Visuals are super subjective though. But I figured now that we have more updated character images it was time to do a masterpost comparing the character designs and how Yashahime seems to be depicting aging (even if that aging is only very little, lol).

Could you write something about your little daughter going to David to ask for something because you said no and she knows he wouldn’t say no to her. Him telling her not to tell mommy and you find out and get annoyed cause he got it for her and it was expensive.

Y/n had always dreamed of taking your kids to Disneyland, even before she became a mom. She remembered dearly the days she spent there as a kid and felt like it was a magical thing for every kid to experience. So when the time came for her and David to take your little princess to the park for the first time she was ecstatic.

“Mommy! Are we going to see the princesses today?” Emma asked from her car seat in the back.

“That’s right sweetheart! We are going to see Belle and Jasmine and Aurora and Tiana!” 

“And Moana too, aren’t we Mommy?”

“Yes, Moana too” Y/n smiled, seeing her little girl excited warmed her heart. She turned to her husband and they shared a look and a smile. She placed her hand on top of his for a moment, interlacing their fingers. 

“Princess, are you going to go on all the games too?” David asked, looking at her through the rear view mirror.

Y/n had never felt happier to be married to a guy who recorded his life for a living than when he captured Emma’s reaction to seeing the castle. The first thing they did when they arrived was go choose a pair of ears for each of them. Emma chose a sequined pair that resembled minnie’s hat from the old cartoons, Y/n went with a classic pair of minnie ears and David managed to find a black cap with plain ears that made Y/n roll her eyes. They started riding a few games, taking pictures and meeting characters. A few hours later they made a stop for snacks and Emma got her face covered in mickey shaped ice cream. David kept recording her and taking a bunch of pics wanting to remember the moment forever. 

At some point, after riding one of the games they found themselves at a boutique buying Emma a Belle costume. She put it on and her face lit up. Y/n and David had never seen her so happy.

After having lunch and riding more games they found themselves at another boutique where Emma started pulling on Y/n’s shirt. 

“Can I get that dress, Mommy?” She said pointing at an Elsa gown. Y/n thought about it for a moment before deciding against it, she had already gotten one costume that day and they were expensive. It wasn’t even about the money, she didn’t want to spoil her. She could get another dress some other time. 

“No, sweetheart. You already got Belle’s dress. Maybe you can ask Santa for it or you can get it when your birthday comes.” Y/n told her daughter. 

“But, mommy, I really want it. Pleeeeaseee” Emma kept tugging on her shirt. 

Y/n crouched down so she could meet her daughter’s eyes. “Emma, mommy said no. And that is final. You already got one dress today. You can get another one next time. Now let’s go find daddy so we can go ride some more games.” 

“But I want it” Emma’s eyes started watering, her face turning red. 

“Emma, stop. You are a big girl. If mommy says no you have to respect that.” Y/n said picking her up. At that point David came into the little one’s field of vision and she started struggling to get free from her mother’s arms, extending her arms to her dad. David picked her up and she started crying into his shoulder. 

“What’s going on princess?” David’s voice was filled with concern. 

“She wanted to get another dress, but I explained to her that she already got one today and that she could get another one the next time we came.” Y/n explained. 

“But I want it now, daddy.” Emma sobbed into his shoulder.

“Emma, that is enough. Mommy said no and no means no. Let’s go ride another game. If you keep misbehaving we’ll just leave and go home. Come on.” Y/n stood firm. 

After that they left the store and started riding other attractions, they even sat through a few shows and parades which Emma loved. But each time they would cross a girl wearing an Elsa costume she would point it out to David and start whining. 

“Baby, don’t you think you are being a little to strict with her? I mean, it’s not like we can’t afford to get her another dress.” David said when Emma wasn’t listening. 

“Dave, the fact that she would throw a tantrum because I said no just shows how lenient we’ve been. She needs to understand she can’t get everything she wants just because she wants it.” 

“I get it, but isn’t it a little early to start giving her those lessons?” 

“What do you think happens when parents truly can’t afford to buy their kids two dresses? And if we bought her a second dress, what would stop her from asking for a third? Besides, she needs to understand that when we say no we mean it.” 

“Fine, you are right” He conceded giving her a quick peck.

At some point during the day Y/n went to get a few water bottles and Emma and David were left to themselves riding a little mermaid attraction. Of course, like almost every other ride in the park you had to leave through a gift shop. That is when Emma saw the Elsa gown again and started tugging on David’s hand. 

“Daddy, please, can you get me the Elsa dress? Pleasee” 

“Emma, mommy said no.” David warned her. 

“Please, daddy” She said, her eyes starting to water again. David ran a hand through his face. Y/n was so much better than he was at saying no to her. He looked at her and just couldn’t do it.

“Mommy is going to be so mad” David said, dreading the moment when he would have to tell her he had caved. He grabbed the dress and headed to the checkout. 

Outside, Y/n was waiting with the water bottles. She was surprised when Emma ran into her arms since she had been giving her the cold shoulder since the dress incident. That’s until she saw David walking behind her with a big gift shop bag. 

“Please tell me that is not what I think it is” She said getting riled up. 

“I’m sorry” David muttered. 

“I said no. You asked again and I said no. Why did you get it? Why do you undermine my authority?” She was seeing red. 

“Baby, she started crying. You know I can’t say no when she cries!” Dave defended himself. 

“Oh and I can? You think it’s not hard for me? What am I a soulless, horrible mother to you? I do it anyways because I don’t want our daughter to turn into a selfish, entitled, spoiled brat. But if you keep doing this, that is exactly where we are headed.” She said to David before crouching down to talk to Emma. “And you young lady, if mommy says no you can’t go ask daddy to go against what mommy said, if mommy says no you can’t start crying, you should to be thankful that mommy and daddy brought you here to have a nice day. I am very disappointed in you Emma, and in Daddy too. You two need to learn to respect me, and until you do I don’t want to talk to either of you.” Y/n explained calmly and walked away. 

She had gotten herself a popcorn bucket and was eating her disappointment away when David and Emma, hand in hand, approached the bench were she was seated. 

“I’m sorry mommy.” Emma started, sitting next to her. Y/n remained silent. 

“We both are” David said sadly. 

“We gave back the dress” Emma continued and that is when Y/n looked up at David. 

“It took us about 5 seconds to realize that it wasn’t worth you being mad at us and Emma suggested we returned it to the store. We really are sorry.” David explained. 

“And we are never going to do it ever again mommy, we promise” Emma said and both her and David nodded. Y/n pretended to think about it for a moment.

“Fine.” She said. “I forgive you both. Thank you, for giving back the dress and for apologizing. Now give me a big hug you two” She extended her arms. Both Emma and David crammed into her embrace. 

“Now let’s go ride a few more games and then we’ll go chose one mug each so we can take home for breakfast tomorrow.” Y/n said and father and daughter cheered. 

“And then we’ll watch the fireworks, right Emma?” David asked. 

“Yeah!!” She exclaimed.
