#In general the symbolism used in her trailer and for her character? I love it

Just saw the Black Swan trailer and I adore it. It's giving me very similar vibes to Blade and Kafka's trailers, in which it is very atmospheric, not afraid to play around with visual effects and certain cues in order to establish a feeling, very strong color choices like if you notice those trailers it seems like they're basked in certain colored light sources which I adore, and the music ties in so well with the video, managing to stand out while also not obscuring or taking away from what any of the characters are saying. I really loved it, I am WAITING for Black Swan's theme to be released in full to listen to, C'mon hoyomix where's that album. All around I just love it
There is one thing I'll say... and it's not necessarily about the trailer more about Black Swan herself and her design, and it's that I think her design and concept for me at least (very important to emphasize that this is based on my own taste and thoughts) would be like 10 times more effectively esp in conveying her mysterious nature if her eyes were obstructed. I do plan to explain that more in a later post, but yeah I think she'd fit the mysterious bill a bit more if her eyes were covered somehow

What a good episode. Maaaaaan
#I can't even start I'd be here forever#It did take me in fact like one hour total to watch it lmoa. It sooooo good!!! The animation is very good#(albeit it's awfully low on brightness at times. But such seems to be the sin of lot of recent media unfortunately)#but I'm not even going to dwell on that. The plot / storytelling is so good. Sooooo god. I adore this arc.#Love the symbolism. I've been saying this for almost two years now (is it really been that long ever since these episodes came out... ) but#I want to write an analysis on the op & ed so baddd. The emphasis on the twilight this episode!!#Like the sun was setting on the detective agency. I love love love the hd. They're so cool in this episode and they're so cool in general.#I ADORE Jouno. I don't feel particularly strongly for sue/giku yet their scenes are so cute and funny. I see why people ship them.#Even Tetchou I don't usually care much about is so !!!!! I love all the hd so much fr!!!!!!!!!!#I love love love Jouno. Like much like it is for Akutagawa I'm very weak for characters that aren't really good people.#But they're still trying to be a better person than they were. And oftentimes they end up doing a terrible job!!#But the fact alone that they're //trying// has me ougheueueueu. Here in this episode you can see Jouno–#sliping very easily in his cruel / sadistic habits. But he is trying to be a person that cares for others! He made good actions in the past#and he will again in the future even though right now he's acting like this! Because improvement isn't linear! I love him tonsss#And DON'T get me started on the ada. Yosano's “Welcome” scene. I love women. I love women. Yosano please one chance#KENJI'S SCENE God I needed this. How could I forget the way this literllyyyyy rewinded my brain when I read the manga for the first time.#That scene is so deep and poignant and so so meaningful I. Oughhh#I am going to run out of tags am I not#Kyouka saving Atsushi!!!!!!! That scene is one of my all time favourites. It makes me soft to remember when the s4 trailer dropped–#I was so overjoyed for that bit of them holding hands :') Rightfully so!!! It's so cute.#Her coming back to save Atsushi. The “don't worry– I didn't kill them” direct towards Atsushi–#that is so so Akutagawa and it sends me insane hhhhhhgggggggggg#Kunikida!!!!! His “I'm not leaving anyone behind”!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not precisely Kunikida's first fan but aaaaaahhh he makes me feel–#so much for him in this scene!!!!! Mmmhhh one last note would be. It bugs me a little how the ada is defined terrorist by the military–#forces starting this episode? I don't have space to elaborate properly but. An action to be considered terrorism must have clear political–#orientation and goal. Violence alone isn't enought to be defined terrorism. It's an incorrect use of the word#Up to the next episode!!! Can't wait to see more Atsushi 🥰🥰#random rambles#It's late now and probably most are asleep rn... Then I'll be queing my posts for tomorrow probably

do you think the gems they’re named after can spoil stuff about the stone hearts?
Tumblr media
I wouldn’t say spoil per se, but it certainly gives some insight into their character due to it being the whole basis of their concept. Allow me to elaborate.
Topaz is generally associated with wealth, a perfect concept to introduce the audience to the IPC through. It is believed to heal and promote strength/vitality, tying into Topaz’s lore regarding her planet’s deterioration with the IPC restoring its ‘health’ and the strength of the people in turn. Also tying into her planet’s lore is the fact that in its natural state, common topaz is traditionally colourless. It is the heat or radiation treatment that gives it its colour, reflecting how the IPC’s grooming of Topaz and her entire planet’s citizens into IPC employees largely shaped who she is today. In Feng Shui, topaz is viewed as a stone of nobility, love, passion and purpose. These aspects reflect in Topaz’s personality, with her love of animals and passionate drive for work and customer satisfaction.
Aventurine primarily symbolises good fortune, again tying in with the core concept of the IPC. Green aventurine in particular is said to be a stone of opportunity and good luck, linking with Aventurine’s infallible luck and subsequent (self-destructive) gambling tendencies. More blatantly, it is known as the ‘gambler’s stone’ since it is believed to bring fortune in games of chance. Interestingly enough, aventurine is associated with the planet Mercury, named after the Roman god of wealth, good fortune, commerce, fertility, and thievery. These aspects tie into Aventurine’s ethnicity as an Avgin, the poor reputation of his people and their mother goddess’ blessing. Cruelly ironic, some believe it to represent self-love, and it is cheaper than most gemstones.
Jade holds symbolism of purity, harmony and protection, referencing Jade’s false guise of sincerity to seal her deals. It is a very valuable and sought-after gem, translating into Jade’s status. East Asia covet jade for its cultural and spiritual affiliations, serving as a metaphor for virtue, wisdom, truth, and Heaven and Earth. This is most likely where Jade Lilith/Eve dual symbolism was derived from. Jade is actually an umbrella term for two silicate minerals, nephrite and jadeite. Again, this seems to be inspiration for her two-faced nature. As of the time of this post, we do not know much about her past and as such it cannot be determined how interlinked it is with her stone.
From the three playable Stonehearts (as of the time of this post), we can clearly see that their lore is deeply interwoven with the symbolism of their gems. They are, in a sense, the embodiment of their Stoneheart namesake. So can it spoil the next Stonehearts? Without context, probably not. But we can still speculate, right?
Obsidian is heavily associated with blocking, absorbing and/or transforming negative energy. It isn’t actually a mineral, rather volcanic glass, typically classified as igneous rock or a mineraloid. For a long time, obsidian was primarily used in the creation of weapons, not jewellery. Referred to as the stone of clarity, it is beloved to release spiritual blockages and draw out stress and tension. Obsidian is naturally quite sharp, and as such some consider it to be capable of piercing into darkness to reveal the truth itself. Like her namesake, Obsidian could be one to cut through false pleasantries in favour of the raw truth, no matter how violent or unpleasant. She certainly seemed quite eager for a bloodbath in the Stoneheart trailer, perhaps due to having an affinity for the true nature of people being revealed and to tie into the primary purpose of obsidian being weaponry. The transformation and absorption of negative energy aspect could potentially relate to the vampire symbolism she seems to has.
Agate generally symbolises strength, protection and courage. It is believed to protect people from negative energy and enhance communication. Ironic, considering Agate is the only Stoneheart who doesn’t communicate at all in the Stoneheart trailer. In Greek mythology, it is linked to the earth mother, Gaia, and symbolises strength and stability. Interestingly, agate is formed within lava and is primarily found in areas with high volcanic activity. Its colour is dependent on the presence of other surrounding minerals. This is interesting because it seems that Agate and Obsidian share some common ground in terms of creation. Perhaps the characters will share similar views or characteristics too, explaining why Obsidian was allowed to vote on Agate’s behalf. The mineral agate being dependent on other minerals seems to further strengthen the idea of Agate possessing some form connections with another Stoneheart (seemingly Obsidian from the little information we have, but could be anyone).
Pearl signifies innocence and faith. It is believed to enhance personal integrity, inhibits immodest behaviour and bring truth forward. Pearl is often used in bridal jewellery as it can symbolise beauty and new beginnings. The gem is of organic origin but is not organic material, perhaps inspiring her existence as an Intellitron, alive but not technically living. We do seem to have enough information on Pearl to link her to her gemstone, another aspect being she seems to hold justice as a primary value. This seems to lie in the pearl’s symbolism of truth and integrity. Perhaps Pearl still believes in an inherent good in the world too, tying into the gemstone representing purity and innocence.
Sapphire is considered to be a stone of wisdom, royalty, prophecy and divine favour. It is a symbol of power and strength, often connected to religious symbolism. From what we’ve seen of Sapphire, this seems to check out. They value oaths above all else and exude an air of righteousness. Much like Pearl, they seem to have a strong set of morals. It is worth noting that sapphire is the second hardest natural mineral, second only to diamonds. So Sapphire has the potential to be one of the strongest Stonehearts in terms of raw power.
Amber is rather obviously associated with natural warmth, but also cleansing and renewal. As far as I have researched, its symbolism seems to revolve around protection and positivity. Consisting of fossilised tree resin, amber is classified as an organic gemstone and isn’t technically a gemstone at all (potentially similar to yet opposite of Pearl?). It was historically believed to bring good luck to warriors in battle and could be used to assist in creating balanced decision-making. The latest aspect may possibly have influenced Amber’s seeming neutrality in the Stonehearts trailer. Bringing good luck to warriors in battle could translate to avoiding conflict altogether, so all parties involved will not lose any prospects. Judging by the gem’s symbolism, Amber seems to be a bit of an outlier amongst the Stonehearts and perhaps that’s why she has yet to show her face.
Sugilite is a stone that drains unwanted connections and evil thoughts. Thought to be a nurturing gemstone, it promotes positive emotions and installs a deep satisfaction of freedom. In great contrast, Feng Shui depicts sugilite as possessing high Yang energy. It is full of emotion, passion and action. This could potentially reflect Sugilite’s personality, driven by passionate desires behind a mask of apathy. Regarding the satisfaction aspect, perhaps Sugilite lives in chase of fulfilment, hence the feast imagery in the Stonehearts trailer.
Opal is considered to be a symbol of hope, purity and truth. Since opal possesses most colours of other gems, the Romans believed it was the most precious and powerful of all gemstones. Indigenous Australians believed it to symbolise a bridge between the earthly and the divine. This seems to align with what we know of Opal so far. I’d wager he’s a little full of himself, tying in with the Roman view of his namesake. Opal also appears to be something akin to the right hand of Diamond, essentially the bridge between the emanator and the other Stonehearts.
Diamond symbolises strength, love and health. They are often worn by leaders and people in power to represent invincibility. The diamond is also considered a symbol of light and brilliance; unconquerable; treasures, riches and intellectual knowledge. We know very little about Diamond, but this all does seem to align with the idea of the leader of the IPC’s Strategic Investment Department. A powerful, untouchable figure, seemingly benevolent and caring but really only in it for the money.
Of course, I’m no expert on gemstones and so this information should be taken with a grain of salt. But that is my take on what I believe we can learn about the non-playable Stonehearts (as of the time of this post, have faith guys) from their gems.
TL;DR: No, information about the Stonehearts can’t be spoiled by their namesake gems. It can be speculated though.

30 kcd2 trailer reveal little things / reactions:
Loving the increased Istvan / Henry parallelism
Loving the return of the red PTSD nightmares and so pleased WH isn't watering the game down, keeping up the trauma narrative realism, etc. I expected no less but still delighted by it. I love games that allow characters (esp male characters) to feel things, genuinely, and writing that treats the emotional invitation of its own storytelling with respect.
Good lord, the symbolism returns--as it must in a proper medieval game--but I shan't look too deep yet.
SKALITZ FLASHBACKS. HENRY'S PARENTS' WEDDING PREQUEL CONTENT? W H A T. I never thought we would get to go back; I am so thrilled to learn more about that time. I would have gladly gobbled up a Martin prequel. TELL ME HER FUCKING NAME, WARHORSE, YOU BASTARDS.
where is radzig
Mystery possible new love interest option? Or did Lady Stephanie visit the face sculptor?
And Theresa... where?
Mother of god, the forests and animals look incredible. I'm going insane. Let me pet things please.
How many times can Hans eat royal shit and live in one livestream? Let's find out. One, two, three...
The crime and punishment mechanics are definitely more complex at a glance. This is a good thing but I wonder how much was cutscene flavor and how much will really have an affect on the gameplay/reputation/etc.
I'm extremely afraid for Hans's survival. Not because of his constant trailer beefing (and he really took every opportunity to wipe out) but because of that shot with him doing the big dramatic eagle wing spread on horseback. You can't just do that and not expect to be punished by the narrative, bro.
MUTT IS BACK MUTT IS BACK MUTT IS BACK
is that pebbles? MUTT IS BACK please be pebbles
Henry's new hair is awful and I will be changing it two seconds in.
In general, Henry looks way more mature/stressed. Hard to say if there was a timeskip and Henry is now actually more mature or if the increased graphics allow him to look more like his voice actor, who is older than Henry. Either way I will be content. Will not catch me changing my son's precious face!!!
CROSSBOWS, HAND CANNONS
Istvan is pure fire, holy shit, cannot wait for this performance. Erik looks like a soggy newspaper. What happened king?
radzig? hello? anyone hear from this guy? typical for him to ghost
FIVE HOURS OF CUTSCENES???? YOU KNOW YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE. IT IS ME. I LOVE TO WATCH THINGS
Theresa's gonna be in it though, right? They wouldn't do us like that right?
Really excited to see them taking a page from RDR2 and incorporating a temperament-based reply system for non-dialogue initiating NPCs. I really look forward to all the added sandbox immersion enhancements from the first game, and I hope women are incorporated in a broader work spectrum for better historical accuracy.
WAS THAT GODWIN?
Is Hans going to teach Henry how to swim for real, as in a gameplay-altering swim mechanic, or is the topless on the riverbank scene just throwing a meaty bone to the hansry shippers (i am gnawing, i am growling when you try to take it away before i choke myself with it)
I love hearing devs and actors talk intelligently about the writing and character development arcs. Obviously they thought about it deeply in KCD1, but it's nice to see devs of an "action" game treating its narrative seriously, as artwork. Regardless of how the fandom idiots interact with it.
Hans singing a facetious little ballad for Henry (presuming it makes it into the game and isn't just trailer fodder) regenerated my cells. He DID promise in KCD1 (if you lose the tourney after agreeing to be his champion) that one day people would sing ballads in Henry's honor. Probably he did not intend for them to include the word "fuck" at the time.
This is going to be the grown up bromance we deserved in kcd1. Honestly it's so validating to see the second game recentering on that relationship and deliberately using it as the primary storytelling vehicle. KCD1 was pretty imbalanced in favor of Hans content, but it would have been better served by the game storyline fully leaning into the importance of that relationship, rather than trying to juggle it as a side-arc with several other arcs (and thereby creating an imbalance). KCD2 looks like it's built around the backbone of Henry and Hans's friendship and how it has profoundly changed them both/propelled their arcs in somewhat different directions.
On that point, Henry seems to have completely adopted Rattay colors now, but it's possible that's due to him operating as Hans's page (squire?) where we left them in KCD1. WHERE IS RADZIG
Calling Henry an orphan is a LITTLE generous given he was a whole ass adult man when his parents were killed, don't you think.
Calling Henry a lover is VERY VERY GENEROUS
I'm hyped.

So, with a Carrie TV-series in the works as Mike Flanagan reteams with Stephen King, I wanted to go back to the 2013 and what most may not know about this film by Kimberly Pierce.
Before the whole Justice League scandal, to say that Kimberly Pierce's 2013 film Carrie got butchered by executives would be an understatement: According to the original 2013 film script, this was a movie that wasn't supposed to try to replicate De Palma's previous version and instead be a direct adaptation of Stephen King's novel got cut and reshot to resemble the 1976 version with it only being modernized. Some of the changes in the original 2013 script include the popular girls getting more development (if you notice, aside from Chris and Sue, and Tina to an extent, the other popular girls don't get much character development), the town destruction that was included in the original teaser trailer, Sue's diary entries in videos, interviews in the White Commission and more.
This director's cut does exist, fully finished, with over 40 minutes of unseen footage, and it merely awaits to be released. There was a campaign years ago, but once the official petition went down and tenths of thousands of signatures were lost, the movement lost momentum. A new petition was made recently, but it hardly has any signatures - I'll still link it below, though. I'd hope that this trailer can maybe help generate some more excitement among horror fans regarding Carrie's director's cut again, especially after the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League. We deserve to see Kimberly Peirce's true vision for Carrie.
Current petition link: https://www.change.org...
With Mike Flanagan making a TV-show, I really do hope that he brings full justice to the novel in a way that's similar to the 2002 made-for-TV remake (bar the ending). The 2013 film had a lot of potential and I hope that Mike Flanagan takes full inspiration from the novel.
Tumblr media
I also hope that they expand more on what the 2013 film tried to do with Sue Snell. When it comes to Gabrielle Wilde's interpretation of Sue Snell, I feel that she gets a bit too much unwanted hate.
You can actually see early on that Sue doesn't approve of what the other girls are doing. In the locker scene, Sue likewise realises pretty quickly that Carrie doesn't know what's happening to her (in the previous two films, it's implied she didn't know and in the book she did and participated anyways) and tries to make amends immediately by telling Miss Desjardin that Carrie doesn't realise.
Even though some would call the pregnancy subplot of the alternate ending a bit pointless, I feel that it's actually symbolic in a way and connects to the ending of the Carrie book in a way. The beginning starts with Margaret giving birth to Carrie....and the alternate ending has history repeating with Sue giving birth to her and Tommy's daughter.
Tumblr media
Many people, myself included, believe that Tommy and Sue's daughter is the reincarnation of Carrie White.
At the very end of the book, a young mother named Amelia writes a letter to her sister about her young daughter, Annie, who is turning out to have the same telekinetic powers as Carrie. When she sees Annie playing "marbles", she remembers her own grandma using her power to protect the family. Her only worry is that Annie has inherited her great-grandmother's "heart spells" as well. And if you choose the interpretation that Annie is the reincarnation of Carrie, then after everything she's suffered, Carrie finally knows what it's like to have a family who loves her.

Natlan Archon Quest Act 1, 2 Reaction
Had to split it into multiple parts cause it's so long...
That empty expanse between Sumeru and Natlan that doesn’t have any people or wildlife is jarring. I only realized AFTER I got there that there was a teleport waypoint past all that that had automatically unlocked, but I couldn’t see it cause it was hidden by the archon quest symbol.
Can’t believe the Traveler and Paimon didn’t wanna ask how the Echoes’ Chief suddenly recognized us.
Love the cutscene of the Traveler switching between elements.
Kachina reminds me of Bennett. I expect us to learn about his origins in 5.X
There are fantasy giraffes?!
Nice to see them calling him Dvalin, not Stormterror
*running away from the researcher guy cause I don’t want to be forced into a conversation and he literally starts chasing when you get too close*
Oooooooh so when Neuvi said “Natlan is plagued by wars” waaay too many of us assumed wars between the humans, not wars vs the abyss.
So if someone who isn’t an Ancient Name Bearer makes it to the Night Warden Wars, does their name become an Ancient Name for future generations to potentially receive?
“Danger is the nature of war” Mualani says. But Kachina told us all ancient name bearers are required to compete - even kids like her. I can see how this mentality might have been manipulated by others to force Vennessa’s tribe into oppression.
Also what the fuck? Not sure I’m buying the whole “not a single Natlan person wants to leave” after hearing they force people to fight like this. Mondstadt (& Liyue to a lesser extent) continues to be the only nation I’d feel safe in. What the hell.
And yeah sure the archon can resurrect them. But like. That doesn’t fix the trauma. It’s still fucked up.
THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO THE REVIVING
Citlali was introduced in the trailer by her strong insistence on not participating in the Pilgrimage. I can see why. I already like her.
This whole situation sounds like the recipe for burn out (literally too. Death).
Kinich cannot be older than 25. And he’s just casually stating he’s died before…
You people need therapy
Also what’s up with Ajaw? He’s such a bully. What the hell man.
I say that now but I assume his situation of “I am mighty and I will conquer the world!” (and everyone treating them like a kid) is like King from Owl House.
Though of course, I only started sympathizing with King from Owl House because of character development. Something that Genshin Impact rarely gives its playable characters.
Anyway, this whole “ancient names are forgotten if the bearers fail”. Is that a conscious effort to erase these people from records, or is it more like an Irminsul erasure?
“Feast until the bill gives the Archon a heart attack” finally, an archon with mora!
Kachina “I can’t keep using my age as an excuse”. If only Lisa or Alhaitham or Venti were here to teach her the importance of giving yourself grace and letting yourself rest.
“I have to prove I’m not trying to avoid the wars” babygirl you are 9 years old
Kachina you have a 7 or 8 Pilgrimage losing streak?! Do these things happen once a year? How young were you when you first participated…
Kachina always prepared with her backpack… she’s like Dora but with gifted kid issues…
All these other playable characters with their “trauma” from “near-death” experiences”. Try actually dying a few times; then you can cry PTSD!
But of course, being raised in the US, I recognize this is partly the influence of a very individualistic culture.
And about the whole revival thing. That’s Chekov’s Consequence-Free Traumatic Death Scene! Place your bets now; who’s gonna die in the archon quest, and then be revived?
So, what if someone with a (not pyro) vision wins the competition? Do they become pyro archon, overriding their previous elemental vision?
Does this mean Mavuika has 3 names: her regular name, her Goetic name, and her Ancient Name?
Is it possible for people without a vision to be gifted an Ancient Name?
Oh my god you send a team of FIVE to fight the entire abyss?!
So you CAN have a vision that doesn’t match your tribe’s element. Atea, of the Peoples of the Springs, has a pyro vision.

Godzilla Minus One thoughts (SPOILERS)
TLDW: Godzilla Minus One is easily one of the all time best films in the franchise so far. While it isn't my personal favorite, it absolutely deserves the praise fans and critics seem to be giving it. Outside from some personal nitpicks, I'd say this entry is worthy of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the best.
10/10
THOUGHTS AND SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT!!! GO SEE IT!!!!!!
Boy does this movies come in swinging! Koichi setting up the main conflict of feeling like he is a coward (he's not, as the movie goes on to point out) and then the whiplash of GODZILLASAURUS
I know its just an unmutated Godzilla but HOLY FUCK the similarities are there and I love the design.
Personal nitpick #1: was hoping the movies would go more in depth with the origin of its Godzilla but the movies isn't really about what Godzilla is but rather what he does and represents to the story. As a result they don't really say what he is other than he is known to Odo Island's folklore. I like that, it gives him a mysterious vibe.
I gasped because I thought he ate a guy be then he yeeted him
Poor Koichi Can't Catch a Break the Movie
Noriko was great. It's clear she isn't used to being looked after and it shows.
Speaking of which, ALL the characters are wonderful. The Reiwa era looks like it is being defined by stronger human characters and stories and I am all here for that!
I'm actually surprised that the trailers (or at least the 2 I watched) didn't show to much Godzilla action. Or at least the final battle.
Godzilla REALLY has it out for folks in this movie. That lack of a clear origin helps actually. His attacks are sudden and brutal. He is REALLY visibly pissed off too.
SPEAKING OF BRUTAL HOLY FUCK!!! For as much damage Godzilla does to everyone, he gets FUCKED UP! Half his face blasted off! It's cool the see his regeneration ability realized in CG
Personal Nitpick #2: I do wish they had made Godzilla a more obviously tragic character. He is just as much a victim of war as he is a symbol of it. Again though, that isn't what this movie is about, and the ending does at least suggest a sequel isn't completely out of the question, so maybe we can still see why Godzilla decided that All Humans Are Bad.
His atomic breath is wild man. Creating mushroom clouds and massive creators is some nightmare fuel shit.
NORIKO NOOOOOOOOO :(
(dont worry she lives)
The plan to kill Godzilla was interesting. Explosive decompression is not really the first thing I would have thought up for a sea monster that brings up deep sea fish but the speed at which it happens is important.
KOICHI NOOOOOO (its okay he ejected)
Personal Nitpick #3:... I don't really like how they defeated Godzilla. I thought it was overkill. Like, yeah I get that Koichi needs to have is moment and all but blowing his head up I thought was a little much. and then he crumbles away? I guess he was frozen? Cool visual though. I imagine it was hell to convince Toho to have Godzilla die that way.
I heard Yamazaki was a big GMK fan, and the last scene really makes it obvious. I wonder if he isn't available for a sequel, Yamazaki would request Kaneko to direct...
Hey Noriko is alive!!!! Hey what's that on her neck? Why does it look like Godzilla's dorsal plate? Oh God Please Let Koichi Be Happy He Has Been Through Too Much.
The overall message of the movie is so goddamn moving, Live. That isn't a request, that's an order, a demand. Live, you should be happy to be alive. You may not think it, but people love you. People can forgive you. You don't deserve to die. Live and fight for the next generation so they don't make our mistakes. It is tough but you and people around you can make it better. You. Will. Live.

Fan Theory on who the “Sith Master” is in Star Wars: The Acolyte
While this could all be blown to bits by episode 5 or 6, if my theory is correct I think it could make for a very compelling story that fits so well within the general themes and symbolism often found in Star Wars.
Recently I’ve seen a lot of online commentary about Qimir being the Sith Master hiding in plain sight. There are references to his strong interest in helping Mae, being able to defend himself against Mae’s attack in episode 2, being too obvious as the unassuming friend character, knowing how to find Kelnacca, knowing a lot about the master, and not being present in the final scene in episode 4. All good clues, but I think they’re all red herrings. Do I think there’s more to him than what we’re seeing? Maybe and if so I think it’ll be him having force abilities and being the Master’s number two rather than the Sith Master himself. If anything he’ll be a Darth Maul or Count Dooku–a placeholder for the real prize, the twins (Mae and Osha). Also, there’s the issue of his motivation and Ki-Adi-Mundi’s prequel statement of the Sith not having been seen in over a millennia—something people have pointed out as a potential plot hole.
So if it’s not Qimir, who is it and why?
I believe the “Sith Master” is… [spoilers ahead if I'm right]
A sad, broken, and vengeful Mother Aniseya.
Tumblr media
Why?
The short answer: Because Star Wars… and because of themes and symbolism often in Star Wars which include duality/opposites, balance, family, anger, fear, and love.
Aniseya’s death was not shown or confirmed in episode 3, and while there’s another strong suspect, her partner Koril, I think she’s another red herring like Qimir. Just like it’s often not the angry or unlikeable suspect or the suspect with a criminal record in mystery stories, Koril is just too obvious. Plus, we know that Leslye Headland consulted with Dave Filoni, is a big SW fan, and is friends with Rian Johnson who likes mysteries as well (‘Knives Out’), and The Acolyte has played like a mystery so far. Also, what little we saw of Koril was that she was stern, untrusting, and quick tempered, especially after the Jedi showed up. Again, too on the nose. Aniseya on the other hand was the opposite; not wanting to discipline or be firm with the twins, but instead was soft, allowed them to eat treats, and act up during her coven TED Talk about the Thread… until she eventually got annoyed.
But why Aniseya if she’s the “nice” parent?
To paraphrase the Joker from Batman comics, “one bad day”, and that day was the temple destruction and chaos of episode 3.
Episode 5 promises to give us different accounts of what happened that night, but we’re also expected to question the truth of those different accounts. Without speculating too much about what could be in episode 5, I think the general situation is that an array of things happened. Mae started a fire, a stand-off between the coven and Jedi occurred where tensions were high because maybe Koril didn’t want them take Osha, and someone flinched—most likely Torbin as a result of whatever Aniseya did to him earlier when his eyes went black. Again, another clue that she’s not all peace, love, sunshine, and roses 24/7 and is willing to go dark to protect her own. I don’t think Torbin’s “flinch” will be a direct action from her (or another witch), but him being on edge because of what happened earlier, but I could be wrong. This would explain his constant meditation though in episode 2, not fighting Mae, and eventually drinking the poison to kill himself—he feels responsible for what happened and likely vowed to never go on offense again or even go out into the world.
Tumblr media
In the chaos of the fire and Torbin’s actions (?), a random “bar fight” type scenario between the coven and Jedi likely kicks off, Kelnacca possibly gets bewitched (given the Kelnacca is seen attacking Torbin in the show’s trailer or Torbin is taken over again), and that generator thing in the temple blows up. This would explain the destruction of what we saw at the end of episode 3 because that wasn’t all due to Mae’s fire.
With her coven and temple destroyed, her daughters presumably dead (or at least one of them if she only finds Mae later), her partner dead, and all of it seemingly because the Jedi stuck their noses into her business, I can see this as the Thread that unravels Aniseya because she is now all alone, but maybe too angry or afraid to face Mae because maybe time has passed. She wanted peace and community, she wanted her daughters to be the next generation (even though she was willing to let Osha go), and she led with kindness. What did that get her? Pain and Loss. To her, maybe Koril was right. Maybe her softness was her downfall. I then think her learning that Osha is alive is what sets things in motion for her to train Mae and set up her revenge against the four and the Jedi Order, but she has to keep her identity secret for it to work.
“That’s great and all, but how does that make her a Sith?”
She’s not. I think the red lightsaber and the assumption that she’s a Sith is all to create fear and panic among the Jedi. (This also keeps Ki-Adi-Mundi from being a liar in the prequels.) She knows the Sith are the Jedi’s main boogeyman so why not use that to destroy who they are just as they came and “unraveled” what she had built. I also think the helmet is a nice inverse of how she feels. While sinister looking, the grin of the mask hides her anger and sorrow.
Tumblr media
“Fine, but what other clues or symbols point to Aniseya?”
Why the four Jedi targets? On the surface they are a test for Mae, but also on Aniseya’s hit list for obvious reasons (see above). Unless we get some random episode showing those four pissing off someone else or Aniseya having fled some unknown Sith Master, it has to be more than just Mae’s revenge. If Qimir, what's his motivation? Had the Jedi not shown up and disturbed her peaceful coven none of Aniseya’s pain would exist. Not only that, but Mae’s initial assassination of Indara sets things off in the series and brings Osha back into the fold when she’s accused of being the assassin. With Osha back in the mix, Aniseya can get her daughters back and possibly restart her coven and destroy the Jedi who think so highly of themselves. Again, she’s not in her right mind and I don’t think this show is trying to paint the Jedi in a negative light, but I do think there's commentary here on religion as the Force and the Jedi are the dominant “religion” in the SW universe.
Many SW stories speak of the Force and its presence throughout the galaxy and in all living things, and how the Jedi don’t have exclusive rights on the Force–it’s just what we’ve predominantly seen in the films and what they call that energy (much like Christianity in America). But different stories; prequels, sequels, and in-between media have challenged the Jedi and whether or not they are always right, so to the haters who think Disney/Leslye Headland is just trying to water down/ruin Star Wars or the Jedi… you’re just not paying attention. The Nightsisters existed in Legends and George Luca incorporated them into the Clone Wars. It's not just Jedi v. Sith. Sorry, not sorry.
Tumblr media
Back to Aniseya.
In her peaceful mindset she was willing to let Osha go (which was a great and sad scene in episode 3), but with darkness, sadness, anger, and revenge having consumed her she wants Osha and Mae together as originally planned, no matter what. That said, I think it will be Osha and Mae who will have to come together to stop her/save her, which harkens back to the original trilogy and Luke’s choice in RotJ. Kill his father or save him? This is also neat in that instead of that conflict coming from one person it’ll be two people wrestling with that choice.
Duality, Opposites, Love, and Family.
In the beginning of the series we see Mae as the cold-hearted and determined killer (and we see hints of her early aggression/Dark Side-ness in episode 3), but by episode 4 she has softened and just wants to be with her sister again. She's even shown slightly wary of her mission in episode 2. By the end of episode 4 she wants to turn herself in, stop all the killing, and is willing to face the consequences of her actions. Inversely, Osha is becoming slightly darker, having asked Yord to stop Mae if it came down to it as Sol wants to save Mae. She is by no means going to the Dark Side, but she’s struggling and if more Jedi die (especially Sol) she might feel that desire to kill her mother rather than save her. Osha’s inner conflict is also seen with the umbramoth and how she blames herself for its death. She says to Jecki that she disturbed it and now it’s dead. I think this harkens back to her choice in episode 3. She “disturbed” the balance of her world by coming forward, telling the truth, and wanting to be a Jedi, and then she lost everything. While the events of episode 3 were not her fault, she feels like that was the thread she pulled to set things in motion and likely still blames herself.
In the end, I think Mae and Osha will have to work together, but there will be conflict before they get there. This is also foreshadowed in the coven temple scene when Aniseya is talking about the Thread and the power of one, the power of two, and the power of many. She easily fends off one opponent, but struggles against two. Mae and Osha are not paying attention in the background and Aniseya gets annoyed and force pushes them down, but I think in the end it will be the two of them versus Aniseya as a callback to this scene.
Other clues and symbols.
Tumblr media
The title logo has two rings/moons/Os forming a light and dark, just as there are the twins and Star Wars has always been a story of Light versus Dark, Good versus Evil, Love and Hate, etc. Even in the Clone Wars there’s an episode about the Son and Daughter representing the Light and Dark sides of the force and I think that is played up heavily in this series. While I don’t think the main theme is that Aniseya and her coven are/were the bad guys and that witches = Bad and Jedi = Good, but rather the symbolism of opposites, duality, and balance, and how unity is better than division, which is part of Aniseya’s initial belief system.
Aniseya is also a woman, a mother, a witch, and the Ascension takes place at night under two moons that align. Her and her kind have been exiled and must hide in the shadows. They are the outsiders. The unwelcomed. In lots of mythology and creation stories the moon and night are seen as feminine or are often associated with a female deity/goddess. But what is the opposite of the night, the moon, and the mother/feminine?
The masculine/father, daylight, and the sun… or should I say Sol, which is another word for sun.
Tumblr media
No, I don’t think Sol is the father of the twins, but he is Osha’s pseudo-father and represents sunshine in his mannerisms and even his appearance. While appropriate for the canon depiction of the Jedi Order of this time, I think Leslye Headland took this visual aesthetic and ran with it. The Jedi robes of this era are yellow with cream, much like sunlight, whereas Aniseya and her coven are clothed in purples, dark blues, and earth tones representing night, darkness, earth/ground, and magic. The Jedi are the ruling order out in the sun, high above all, and Aniseya’s coven are exiles who must hide in the shadows, but they are both connected to and by the Force/Thread. Thus, neither is the villain, but each a side of a coin in the balance of things.
Again, this is more likely a commentary on religion as many religions and subdivisions/denominations believe in similar things, but they love to fight over the details and who’s supreme... even to the point of war.
This also makes sense as to why Sol is the last on the list (outside of his connection to Osha and plot reasons). He is the “father” who took Osha away (atleast in Aniseya’s broken mind, even though Osha wanted to be a Jedi before meeting Sol). While I don’t think this is an anti-male/man-hating commentary, I think it’s a further reinforcement of the duality/opposites theme (because SW is never subtle), but also another example of the same but different.
In episode 3 Indara is the one who comes off as firm, unfeeling, and “masculine” when the Jedi arrive, citing Republic law, but it’s Sol who is gentle, kind, and soft-spoken (more “feminine”); thus very much Aniseya’s “masculine”/opposite equal. When he meets Osha he kneels down in front of her rather than tower over her as one might expect of a male authority/power figure. He hands her his lightsaber (showing vulnerability), and since it’s a Jedi’s sacred weapon (if you’ll recall Obi-Wan getting onto Anakin for being so careless with his in Episode II), he presents it as a symbol of peace. Aniseya interacts with Osha in many of the same ways, but also uses her powers to possess Torbin. Same, but opposite.
Had things played out differently, Aniseya and Sol could bridge their two worlds given how similar they are, but threads pulled in the wrong direction set them on a path to become enemies. And while I don’t think this show is meant to show the Jedi as the bad guys or be some grand commentary on the persecution of witches and “othered” people, I think it’ll ultimately come back to the concepts of love, hope, fear, anger, family, and balance—themes Star Wars often explores and has in this series so far.
We've also seen this with Luke regarding Anakin, Anakin with Padme, Obi-Wan with Anakin, Ahsoka with the Jedi Order and Anakin, Han and Ben, Fin and Rey, and Rey and Ben/Kylo, as well as many other examples in SW canon. Some of these characters succeeded and others failed, but I think in the end, if it is Aniseya, Osha and Mae will have to work together to save her or at least try.
Tumblr media
Lastly, looking at the titles of each episode, I think they further support my theory and the symbolism and themes in this series.
The first two episodes have two word titles of opposites. Lost/Found and Revenge/Justice. Episode 3 we find out how the twins were split and thus episode 3 and 4 become one word titles to reflect that split, Destiny and Day. I think 5 and 6 will likely be Choice and Night or something like that. Episodes 7 and 8 will return to the two world titles as Mae and Osha come together again to stop/save Aniseya. What those titles will be, I don’t know, but I think the full list of titles will create a symmetrical/mirrored/balanced list because why not.
Also, I think Sol’s statement that Mae started the fire and destroyed everything is a simplistic explanation/quasi-lie similar to Obi-Wan’s Episode IV "lie" to Luke about Darth Vader having betrayed and killed Anakin. A truth, “from a certain point of view” rather than a convoluted, “So… some crazy shit went down and everything went south. It wasn’t fully our fault, but we’re not blameless either. Sorry everyone you’ve ever known or loved is dead.” Again, more ties to Star Wars rather than "woke" stuff ruining the SW-verse.
Tumblr media
Who knows. Maybe I’m wrong about all this and I’m looking too deep into it, but I woke up the other day and all of this just made sense.
But if all of this is true, this show is so very Star Wars and it sucks that toxic “fans” are hating on it because a white guy isn’t saving the day with a hot girl in a gold bikini.

me & my friendgroup were hoping ganon would get more backstory and humanization in totk for the entire time since the sequel was announced :( the idea that he might get revived was so exciting. i didnt think it would happen but i hoped for a sequel where youd switch between link and zelda at different points- zelda being more lore and archaeology/exploration focused so youd learn more about ganon and the events causing the calamity and how to stop future ones as you also tried to understand why he was so enraged and what exactly happened to him and link engaging in direct dialogue and confrontation with ganon so the player can see his pain and character depth. the game wouldve been more about defeating the calamity possessing him vs ganon himself being bad and acknowledging that hyrule never really tried that route which lead to the constant devastation...sorry for rambling but tldr i feel you 🫡 ur ganons strongest soldier
literally this entire ask. i don't know why i had my hopes up cuz now i'm disappointed over something that was gonna happen anyways... i just wish that after throwing in the excuse of "oh well we use the same formula over and over because DEMISE'S CURSE causes hatred to reincarnate!" they actually built upon that, but they only focus on how the curse affects the chosen hero and zelda. like they never actually go into how the curse affects the man who is born asab (assigned satan at birth 😢)
heres what i think under the cut if youre interested, it's kind of a long story so whatever
my personal hesdcanon completely and totally disregarding anything totk says is that hylia chose ganondorf to be her hero. she chose him and the 'calamity' wasn't actually ganondorf himself based on the more lizard-like appearance of it in the tapestry: it was demise, hence the reason why it not only took a hero and princess but the divine beasts as well.
based on his outfit in the original trailer, i think he was invited to the castle. but while he went dressed his best, it was a trap. throughout his time as hero the kingdom questioned it because of their awful history. after defeating the calamity, ganon was invited for dinner and was betrayed. being poisoned by people he loves and cared about who he thought cared about him but their generational hatred just... led to this.
it broke his heart when they broke his trust because the male gerudo 'king of evil' could never be our chosen hero, the symbol of courage in the kingdom. he's the bad guy, and always will be even if it's a different man from the one in OOT and TP entirely. his broken heart turned into anger and rage while he was coughing and dying at the table as people he cared for watched it happen. his eyes turned red, his mane and tusks grew and his triforce shined. when he tried to grab the sword it burned his hand. hatred took over and changed him- keep in mind that demise's entire being relies on the existence of hatred. with so much hate in his heart the demon was able to grab ahold of it and use that as a second chance to win.
nobody could stop him but the princess, who did with hylia's help. his body and spirit was sealed under the castle before it got too bad. but over time, the betrayal ganon felt had 10k years to brew and demise used it to his advantage. ganon's hurt combined with demise's raw energy- malice- created what we see in botw as that ugly beast calamity ganon.
now here's my favorite part! everyone had to have wondered why the fuck hylia wasn't willing to help zelda this time around when zelda was unable to use the powers in her blood that her mom could use, and hylia never bothered to help her awaken them. well the reason for this is because hylia felt betrayed by her people. her people were so full of hatred that they tried to murder the hero SHE chose! not only that, but after ganon's murder, the sheikah strongly opposed, which led to what you can see in the tapestry- sheikah being pushed by guards, and then the game tells us their technology was destroyed and sealed away.
as punishment for the problems her children were causing, she decided to abandon them. they would get no help from her. no prayers would be answered, no assistance with light magic- they were on their own now. there wouldn't even be a chosen hero- link was actually chosen by fi when fi knew a hero had to come but hylia wasn't going to bother.
hylia only decided to step up after she felt sorry for zelda. when zelda prayed and begged her she ignored her until the hero died and she felt her child's pain. she finally decided to be a mom and make zelda's powers fucking explode. zelda walked into that castle and sealed the demon the best she could without the assistance of a hero. from then on after a hundred years, hyrule basically accepted the flying boar demon cloud over the castle as part of their life along with corrupted guardians and such.
basically i think ganon's story was about hatred and betrayal and that the reason calamity ganon is so insanely powerful, and the reason he takes on a more demonic form not made of flesh but physical hatred, is because of how much it hurt him. he is hurt and hatred took advantage of that.
demise's easy control of ganondorf is kind of a nod at how you'll see that hurt people can often get easily taken over by hatred. a wife who is cheated on might kill her husband. a trans man who has suffered his whole life might bully trans men who are happy. a victim of misogynistic culture might be manipulated by others into becoming a terf. it's sad how easily hate can take over hurt people.
for the hylians, it's how for generations their kingdom was destroyed by a ganon, so they can't think of him as anything other than a threat even if he is a good man.
so yeah, there's my ganondorf take. he's just some guy who is stuck in a cycle and i wish nintendo would stop acting like hyrule is a perfect kingdom and the royal family has no flaws because theyre the Goddess Children when time and time again there's been hints in the games at their treatment of others, especially the sheikah. basically what i want is for them to give their special little good guys and special little race of blue eyed bitches some more depth instead of just being like "theyre good and nothing more because they're the Good Guys so they can't do anything wrong and opposers like ganon are the Bad Guys". cuz it's 2023 and we deserve more advanced stories than "hero and princess defeat the big bad evil and save the day!"

MM Raphael - All Symbol Headcanons please uwu
| Send me a symbol and I will write a headcanon about…  For multimuse blogs, please specify! *disclaimer I aint a spoiler free blog I have stated before like with Helluva Boss, this is your warning now there are spoilers in this post.*
Tumblr media
I love this little gremlin boy so much. look at his smile pure gremlin uwu from the full trailer we got I knew I would be satisfied with this take on Raph. I can be kind of picky but that's just cause Raph was a character I always loved. I do like that Raph's anger issue was his only character trait least not like all he is about but that they did focus on the fact Raph dose just kind of like to fight in general. I like that he is sort of aware of it though and seems to try and handle it but clearly doesn't know so he turns it towards his more violent tendencies. And dose seem to try and not take it out on people around him. He has anger in him and he's trying which is why I love that he seems to turn towards sports at the end of the movie cause its not often a part of Raphael shows often give much attention to that he loves sports too. I look forward to more from this franchise with my boy ;3; I really just like that you can see for all of the boy they know who they wanna be but havent quite learned who they are.
𝓕 : My muse’s handwriting. (Is it good, bad, difficult to decipher, do they prefer writing by hand or with the help of some form of machine, e.t.c.)
Tumblr media
"I'm not the best with uh spellin, " One of the more stylized writing styles clearly. The boy haven't had proper education for years so I feel they learned a lot from what they saw and Raph liked the subway graffiti they would see when making their way back home and learned to make it his writing style. Raph tries to control his emotions carefully emphasis on tries here of course. Draws attention to himself as seen in a lot of fights he tends not to care much for the whole be stealthy thing when it comes to a fight. Even crowing to get said attention before jumping in. Raph has a more out going personality shown from his large lettering. The gaping in his writing shows Raph enjoys his freedom.
Tends to take being grounded from the surface not well at all and pitting the blame toward Leo. Being able to explore the surface is the only real freedom he had and he dose carry this thought into going to school. Of course the heavy pen pressure come from tension and anger he has. That he doesn't full know the best way to deal with yet. I think having Beep bop and Rock steady however will help a bit but having a friend who gets it will do him even more wonders since they are closer in age. Despite being outgoing the slant of his writing shows Raph is a bit reserved which we see when it comes to April he doesn't talk as much as the other do or did when around her compared to how he is around his brothers even around the other mutants he was a tad more reserved here and there. Or outside of fights. Im pretty positive they will likely be like Splinterson considering Splinter isn't Yoshi but I would be to surprised if they didn't find a way to make use of Hamato for this verse but i'm not changing my tag XD so still under Hamato even if he won't be using that name unless stated he will be Splinterson in MM.
✈ : My muse and  traveling. (If they do it frequently and why, if they never left their home town, e.t.c.)
"Hmm I've been in the sewers, the subway, roof tops shipping yards-" Currently Raphael has only ever been around New York, they have gone to some pretty well know locations like Central Park or Madison Square garden, or stadiums but have yet to ever be out of New York. Of course, he likes the idea of maybe seeing more now that he's able to go to the surface. But hard to say if everyone is still willing to change their tune about Mutants. Even if they have been shown as Hero's this doesn't fully mean everyone and everywhere is ready to accept them or willing.
✿ : My muse and nature. (If they are an ‘outdoorsy type’, like the sound of bird’s singing, if they have never set foot in a forest, e.t.c.)
"Ehhh I dunno 'bout that. 'ike i'll go I guess if I gotta?"
Despite living in hiding this guy is a pretty much a city guy at heart he is so used to the loud sound of a buzzing and bustling city. But with his wild energy he might love going out to the woods.
☼ : My muse’s first memory. (Where it was, who was with them, how this memory makes them feel, e.t.c.)
"uh dunno I kind remember stuff as a kid like havin' nightmares and going to pops." I feel Raphael dose vaguely remember the one time Splinter took him and his brothers up to the surface.They seemed young but were able to start their training not long after. Raph sometimes had nightmares about the man that chased after them and would be the one to wake everyone else up and go to Splinter to sleep with. Dad is safe after all ;3;
☙ : My muse’s favourite food. (Bonus: A memory, be it good or bad, associated with said food.)
"Dose bulk up count as a food?"
Course it's pizza, but the bulk up in the crate during their shopping time was funny to me. Of course Raph always remembers the first time Splinter got his hands on a pizza for them. It was some of the first human food they ever tried and the most beautiful thing Raph has ever seen at that time in his life.
♬ : My muse and music. (What type of music they like listening to and in what context, what music they would never listen to, e.t.c.)
"Drake! he's the g.o.a.t!" Raphael likes Rap and R&B the most when it comes to music he dose enjoy Rock and heavy metal as well of course. But his favorite artis is Drake and if he could meet a celebrity he would want it to be Drake. he watched Degrassi solely because he found out Drake acted on that show. He might have a slight crush on the dude but he hasn't really figured that out himself. He also likes DJ Khaled, and Lil Wayne but course hes got his usual go to. He dose like a bit of pop as well here and there. He also will never admit it but some of the stuff Donnie listens to is kind of okay as he would phase it.
↺ : My muse and the past. (Do they live in the past and struggle to let go of past grievances, or move on more easily, is there anything in their past they want to forget, e.t.c.)
"Eh I sort of do maybe?"
Raphael in a way dose in that he's very aware of the situation he was once in, forever made to hide away from a word he just wants to be part of. Surrounded by the same four faces all his life. It sort of feeds into the little freedom he has and more he'll get. Raphael just wants to be able to meet more people experience things he never got to before all because he never really got to live before, not like how humans do at least. Going to school just being on the top of that list simply because it's such a normal mundane thing but something he thought he never have. That it never even occurred to him that humans themself sometimes aren't all given those same freedoms he thinks they are lucky to have.
☾ : My muse and sleep. (How much they sleep, how much they wish to sleep, if there is something that never fails to put them to sleep, e.t.c.)
"Eh not 'ike i got much a bed time? oh guess I do now?" Raph's used to staying up late seeing as it was the only time him and his brothers were able to out and about that Splinter could agree on with at least. So Raphael is far more used to being active at night over during the day going to take a lot is adjusting to the change least during the school week. Raphael likes to be up late still often going to bed late in night school night or not. Getting to sleep can be a bit of struggle so he tries to tire himself out in all the ways they tell you not to like aimlessly using the internet thinking he'll pass out. Sometimes he dose but ends up leaving his phone playing videos because of it. So it's always low on battery.
✧ : My muse and art. (If they have an artistic side or not and why, favourite artist if they have one, e.t.c.)
"I like the stuff I seen on the streets." I pick his writing style for a reason Raphs a fan of street art, he has watched humans in the cover of the night work on their own street art. Murals, tags and such that they come across the city always tends to catch his eye he thinks it looks cool. When he was learning to write he really wanted to sort of have a style like what he saw. Raph tends to doodle out his name and even brothers names with designs things he thinks fits each of them. Course later hell add another name with some hockey sticks and such. It's far more like graffiti he dose and sticker art. He came across some name tag stickers and will put his stuff on that to slap around the city when him and his brothers would run around for their errands in the past. Usually slapped on to the back of signs, street lights, even some bollards, or billboards. It's mostly either his name "raph" or styled stuff showing Sai.
❃ : My muse and social media. (If the muse is/would be on social media and why/why not, their general opinion on it, e.t.c.)
"Eh I sort use it?"
Raphael lurked in the past mostly making use of video platforms. He has a bad habit of falling asleep when watching tiktok and sending the videos to his brothers accounts. Once they get into school he will use twitter and snapchat, so to be in contact with some of the friends he's made. but he mostly sticks to texting apps like discord or whatsapp. Raphael just isn't much for social media but it was kind of the only way he could be part of the human world, so he did use it to just watch stuff. Mostly used it to watch dumb videos he found funny or keep track of news of stuff he was interested in. Like following Music Artis he likes.
✉  : My muse and others. (If they social and outgoing or more introverted, and why. If they prefer communicating with others face to face or in written form, e.t.c.).
"I finally got some human friends so 'hats cool." As I mentioned before Raphael is pretty out going in general, he's not shy or even close to being an intervert himself. But he can be a tad reserved as a person. When it came to meeting and being around April of course he doesn't shy away from talking and answering questions but he dose tend to hang back a tad. When they met superflys crew Raph sort of did the same once the idea of afight was dropped with this reveal. We do see him pretty ecstatic around Beep bop and Rocksteady however but he still seems the most comfortable around his brothers even when at the Dance he's a bit more playful with them. But we can see him being open around the kids hes befriending. He's a friendly person and likely willing to talk to anyone but it takes him a moment to warm up and be more okay with all his sides being shown.
Raph still wants very much to meet someone who just understands him in a way most don't. Raphael knows he has a lot of anger issue to work through and he tries to handle that best he can but it has made him pretty interested in things that come off more violent like things. Sport, horror movies, fighting in general. Raph isn't a bad person or even trying to be intimating well outside a fight of course, but his interest likely will sort of give him a rep in school as a tough kid, scary dog privilege basically. Look big and mean but when you know Raph? once again scary dog privilege hes loyal and pretty loving very outwardly at that.
Why meeting Casey is such a thing. Casey and Raph hold a bit of rivalry since Raph going into school he wants to just try out for every sport the school has to offer. Of course, this meant the hockey team as well. Raph liked the more contact sports like football over soccer so he tried for the team along with another kid. They were both good but the coah wasn't sure who to pick. Raph wasn't fully set on it but this stupid kid picking a fight with him made him a tad petty so they wound up getting into a fight. To which even after going home with a black eye he told Splinter in a very excited manner he had made a friend. Sure Raph has some like friends least kids he could get along with but I feel thats more outta of convince. Casey is the first person he kind of opens up around to with stuff he hasn't with his brothers even. That got long TDLR: Raph can be reversed and def has the aura of a scary dog like a pit bull so people can be a tad turned off from getting too close to him and his over ethuism for certain things. He got some humans hes friendly with who gotten past that but he can be a tad reserved deepening how comfortable he gets with someone else. And much like many dogs like Pits? Hes actually very friendly, and welcoming.
▶ : My muse and level of education. (If the muse has some form of education, what education they perhaps wish they had, e.t.c.).
"I only now going to school so?"
Anything Raph dose know was taught by splinter or something he abosrd growing up. I don't see him being the best student when it comes to school either. He dose great in subjects like Gym and even art a bit. (I like to think he'll take some art classes) but as for the rest? he'll have some struggles mostly Math and Science courses.
◐ : My muse and animals. (If they like animals and treat them well, do not care for them at all, e.t.c.).
" uh 'm a turtle?" I think Raph likes animals I feel i've said this with nearly all them so far? i really just think Raph is a cat person. But I feel MM also is pretty big on dogs as well. Which is why I keep saying hes got scary dog privilege haha. Dogs sort of match his energy but cats are nice and calming. I feel he treats them pretty nicely gently and with care knows ya gotta let an animal come to you sort. And when one dose? hes the happiest turtle in the world at that moment uwu
❒ : My muse and gifts. (If they are good/bad at finding gifts, good/bad at receiving gifts, good/bad at wrapping gifts, e.t.c.)
"ehh I try?"
I think Raph has found things for his brother like if he spots something they might like or related to it? he'll snag it when on their runs.
☘ : My muse’s relation with their family. (If they speak with each other and how much, if they are close or estranged, e.t.c.).
"I Love them I do jus'..ya know I wanna know others too? nothin' wrong with it?"
Raphael is very much a teen in that part of his life where he's trying to have his own life. Sometimes he can get carried away with it even no that it's something he can have, rather spending time with a friend over his brothers. It's nothing against them at all more him not quite learning that balance yet. But of course his brothers will always be his top priority when it comes down to it. His brothers mean a lot to him and they were his first friends as well. Nothing can ever get between him and them he will feel bad if any of them feel as if that is the case of course.
Raph very much tries to play cool around his brothers pretending he doesn't care but you can see how thats just an act. That he is playing to around his brothers. Sometimes he lets it slip like mentioning he would like to go to school never fully saying why though. Raph is very close to them all though openly joking around with them just being a full dork and getting up into to trouble like messing with Leo's sword and throwing ninja stars around. Despite him sometimes being annoyed with hoe Leo acts and can be you can also see how excited he gets when leo wants to join in on something for once. He gotta be close enough with leo to not be too upset hes playing with his sword. Even leo sort of joins in a bit when they are playing around on the roof. Raph seems to be able to get his brother into messing around.
Like Mikey dose when he tends to start most the jokes they get into even. Raph's clearly older brother side kicks in around them letting Mikey climb on top of him and such. And Raph being quick to jump in to try and help him and Donnie out when they need it that is. Doesn't baby either of them but is for sure there and ready to get in the mix of the danger.
With Donnie his twin uwu never letting this go when I can apply it. He dose pick on them a tad for being a weeb but it is outta of love, luckily anime is more main stream so I doubt Don will have to worry about being picked on for it but if he was? Raph would stand up for them in his own way "Hey he might be a a major dweed for likin' it and he is a major dweeb for likin' it but least he got better thing todo then pick on someone for it" type of sticking up.
He dose try and show some care into what his brothers like but it's cause he really just needs that himself in his life.
He loves Splinter and respects them he dosen't like be grounded but he'll stick to it and not break it even if he grumbles over it. Raph in part dose understand Splinter just looking out for him and his brothers. Sometimes that means he gets grounded or scolded but he dosen't always take it personally more that Splinter dosen't understand to which yeah some bits Splinter dosen't understand. But Raph still dosen't fault them to much for it. Hes still not ready to have a mom though and a tad grossed out on Splinters relationship but it makes him happy so? As for the rest of his family he is getting used to the suddenly abundance he has. He liked having more family around and is closest to Beepbop and Rocksteady, his sort like uncles he can be found with them the most when it comes to the extended part of his family. They sort of get the anger thing and often offer some advice when he's feeling just a tad ganged up on. I like to think they encourage him on his friendship with Casey since they are such an inseparable pair themselves.

Anyways hihi. I answer my own question. For context I was introduced by my sibling and watched some videos out of order before watching the voice trailers and song trailers. Anyways let's go
First character i "latched onto" (got super interested in) was actually mahiru!! Hence why she's still one of my favourites lmao. I Love You was a. A ride. And it's what truly got me interested in milgram. She gets to share the spot with muu tho for after pain and inmf being the first songs I listened to courtesy my sister :)
Oh also I remember that when my sister showed me after pain and asked me if I thought she should be innocent I said no because "she reminds me of a classmate/neg" which. I was right. But also the funniest way to procure an opinion on a character. Iirc the real reason was that I caught Bad Vibes from some of the lyrics' phrasing but idk.
Oh and I remember watching ily and being. Concerned. She'd earned an inno since I got into the project to the end of her trial lmao.
I think I also was interested in MeMe? Though not enough for it to leave a suuper lasting impression. From what I remember the last songs I listened to were Magic and Harrow cuz I didn't have time to listen to the whole playlist constantly + was more interested in the t2 songs overall
My current favourite(s) are obvious to everyone on this blog probably. Shidou n Kazui. Im constantly realizing more reasons why I subconsciously was so interested in their characters but I'll go for individual traits that made them stick out to me
Strange to say but the reason I was interested in shidou was the death penalty thing. And the fact that he was inno t1. I thought that was hilarious from a "fictional media" standpoint that the whole fandom decided to just. Not give him what he wanted. Even if it seemed he deserved it.
I believed the organ harvesting theory for at least 2 months. I think. Which makes it funnier that he's my favorite and makes it obvious that apparently the way to make me interested is to be inherently kinda funny. Cuz listen "organ harvester" is kind of funny ok. And it was funnier that he was innocent.
After the change in theory belief he makes me unreasonably sad but also intrigued in what caused such an extreme reaction and belief. Maybe this makes me strange but hey there's a reason I shouldn't study psychology )it'd make me too powerful)
Kazui was actually cuz of the gay kazui theory pre Cat release cuz I thought that was a funny, strangely substantiated theory that I assumed Cat was gonna disprove so I spent much of pre-Cat-release spinning around the theory till it was disproven. It wasn't it actually got more substantiated imo which makes it verrrrry funny to me.
Also because he makes me unbelievably sad all the time. Like what the fuck if his murder is what I think it is that's. Tragic. Tragic and realistic and aidbsusvdaugh.augh. also if it is what I think it is I get to point at kazui and go he just like me fr. Horrible.
Also Cat has a banger mv like hooooly shit. One of the best mvs so far imo.
Fun things that both have in common is that.
1) I generally disagree with the most common theory surrounding their murder in trial 1 specifically (organ harvesting theory, cheating theory)
This, ironically, makes me more insane Abt them cuz I get alllll the time in the world to think about what I think of them myself instead of using fandom interp. Encourages critical thinking (JOKE). I also get to then see someone's wildly different interpretation and get a whole different perspective!!!!!! Win win it's like peer reviewing. I might not agree with who I read the posts of but honestly I don't care much it gives me stuff to talk, think and jokingly complain to my friends about
2) their mvs have soooo many things and small details to point out that either give you a further insight to their murder or an insight into their character. It's so fun I love going frame by frame to see small details and symbolism. Like. Down to single 1 second frames or the line colours (haruka gets my attention for this too but that's a different post) or how the expressions can be read and. Look I take literature for a subject I'm bound to be attracted to these types of symbolism and to having the ability to pick up the smallest thing and make something out of it. Hell even in half how there are some moments I can't yet fully interpret that's what keeps me invested!!!! Wanting to see what happens!!!! What the next mv will reveal!!
3) on the point of symbolism!!!!!! They have my favourite forms of symbolism actually, flowers and theatre imagery. I once spent 3 hours searching up flower meanings for an art piece for my sibling like I wasn't even invested in the series it was for but she gave me flower ideas nd I ran w it. I'm in drama club. Love for theatre imagery is a given.
4) their songs SLAPPED and no one can tell me otherwise. That's the point that's it.
5) funny point but they continue the trend of me relating to/getting really interested in, in my friends words, "the kinda fruity middle aged to old people" which was the funniest description of my favourite character tropes???
6) oh yeah they're really easy to make fun of. That's what I need in a character.
7) also kind of a. Strange. Point. But I have a fascination with characters who explore the themes of grief and guilt over what isn't technically their fault (ie. Character doomed by the narrative:"this must be the concequences of my actions") and both shidou and kazui fit perfectly into that. Shidou is mourning his family but thanks to that feels guilt over the grief he's caused others. Kazui is mourning his wife whom he believes he's, in some way, caused the death of. They make me insane.
8) continuation of a briefly touched on point but their vagueness is one of the more intriguing things to me. Most of the other characters, while definitely nuanced and vague in their own ways, feel less so compared to these two to me. Cuz like kazui's whole deal is wanting us to find his lie, so we don't truly know what's up yet. Shidous thing is so. Confusing to me in a good way. Partially cuz, like mahiru, he seems to have a bit of a warped view of reality that directly relates to his crime. Maybe it's the liar imagery, the knowledge that they're keeping something hidden, that makes me want to look more closely and interpret the smaller details. Or I'm just insane.
Yeah I'm probably just insane. I have recently made Observations that a certain mutual will be hearing me go insane abt next week. anyways I'm gonna finish my homework goodbye milgramblr.
Send me your blorbo essays and dw if it's strange or long or "cringe" because dude look at mine. I will not and cannot judge because I am insane and j accept going crazy over characters
Ooh actually. People in the milgram tag tell me who the first character you latched onto was. And then tell me how you got attached to your current favourite. +Generally why they're your favourite. No word limit give me your blorbo essays plsplspls

will not be watching the Bleach anime and actually just filtered out a bunch of bleach tags, including ichiruki
am still too bummed out about too many things, including:
• the weird, sudden downplay of Rukia’s importance and mad reduction of screentime--she went from co-protagonist to someone who gets less than a second of screentime in the new trailer, is MIA during the final battle, and is separated from the nakama for virtually all of the final arc. So many of her personality quirks, the things that made her so unique and wonderful, (her shitty drawings, her love of cute rabbit-themed things, her interest in the human world, her snark) are gone or hella watered down
it’s an odd observation/opinion but I actually wasn’t all that crazy about her new haircut in the FB arc--it makes her silhouette/form a lot less distinctive and interesting from a character design perspective. I know the idea was she wanted to look less like her sister but knowing how awesome Kubo’s designs are I think she could have gotten a lot more interesting/flattering haircut (again, this is more from a character design perspective so this is more an offhand opinion whatever)
• the weird, sudden downplay of Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship. I adore ichiruki but at this point I’m not even mad they’re not canon--I’m more bummed at how such a fateful, important, powerful, dynamic, symbolic, and unbreakable bond is so absent in the final arc. There’s so much buildup in the FB arc (speed of the world poem, Ichigo dreaming about Rukia, the freaking fullbring powers being unlocked just thinking about her, the way the rain stops when she comes back and gives him his powers) and then...nada. idec they’re not canon, I just wished their bond was a lot more featured (platonic or not), that they got to fight in the final battle together, or at least share a few moments of bickering in the final arc. they’re separated for almost all of it which is wild. Even in the canon WDKALY novels, Ichigo isn’t even the first Rukia tells about her engagement? They don’t interact at all and that just seems so weird to me given all they’ve gone through/how much Kubo himself has hyped up their bond and duality.
• How Renji is all of a sudden Ichigo’s new BFF...Renji as a whole is such a flimsy and inconsistent character (slashing and slamming Rukia against a pole in one arc, then going on to righteously lecture that “a man who lays hand on another woman is trash” smh) and to give him so much spotlight just felt so weird and off
• ishida and chad doing essentially the opposite of what they vowed in earlier arcs (ishida didn’t want to be like his dad, chad didn’t want to use his fists/strength for money/fame) also ishida being all alone and not even mentioned by his friends in the last chapter was weirdly kind of sad and ugh
early bleach was such a spunky, unique, special thing with ichigo and rukia’s bond giving it such a wonderful spark, it had such character and over time really just became another generic shonen which is a darn shame but what’re you gonna do

Do NOT Lose Hope!
I know that the new trailer doesn’t exactly scream Byler, but don’t give up hope just yet. Here’s why!
Will Byers
Will was hardly in the trailer at all, but we know this is supposed to be a significant season for him and that Noah’s mentioned there being more romance for his character. Noah’s also told us that there’s going to be more Byler in S4, though what he means by that is up in the air. That being said, Will was left out of the trailer most likely because his scenes reveal too much. Either for the plot or for ahem other reasons.
What we were shown, however, implies some sort of rift between Mike and him. Maybe due to some jealousy, maybe because of something else. I don’t know. But there’s no way WIll’s being brushed aside like he was in S3 all over again. Not with the way Mike and Will are staring at each other on the season poster. That’s probably a much better indication of what we should expect from their storyline anyway. So, Mike and Will might be tense at first, but somewhere along the line, Mike SHOULD be tuning into him again. They’ll be focused on each other.
Tumblr media
Mike Wheeler
I think Mike’s clips in the trailer are very indicative that there’s still hope for Byler. Why? Because they give almost nothing away. He’s clapping at a pep rally? Cool. He’s sitting in a room with Jonathan and Will? A little better. Oh, two scenes involving El, whose storyline isn’t directly connected to his for most of the season? Whatever. They didn’t show us anything about what happens after El leaves. Not really. So ANYTHING can happen. Plus, in the S3 trailer, they showed Mileven holding hands and making out, so if S4 has anything better for the two than a clip with a pining Will Byers behind them, what gives?
Now, let’s talk about the rink and prison transport scenes. First, there’s the rink in all of its love triangle glory. Does it mean that Mike and Eleven are really back together? Let’s not jump to conclusions too quick. Other users have already dug into possible reasons that he and Will could have stepped away from El long enough for her to get bullied, so I’ll skip to this. If Mike and El are in love and their relationship is going great, then why do we have this:
Tumblr media
Sure. Enough time passed for the five of them to regroup, but really? You’re telling me that Mike wouldn’t try to stand next to his girlfriend after what she went through earlier? Or even if it was just any normal day for that matter? Even if this still is supposed to symbolize Will and Jonathan’s new position as her brothers (and like protectors?), there’s also the obvious fact that Will IS standing between Mike and El. So like, if El was standing in between them in S3, and it’s flipped a whole bunch for S4, I think it’s very probable that Byler can still happen. And that it won’t just be some unrequited love subplot.
Next, the prison transport scene! The context of this scene is tricky for me to try to unravel, but I’ll just say this. El leaves and it doesn’t look like Mike’s happy about it. And after, with Jonathan and Will, he looks even more upset. My prediction is that Mike didn’t want El to go, but she chose to anyway. Or they had a disagreement about something serious because him staring after her the way he is, feels super final. Like, if we’re sad the trailer doesn’t show outright Byler moments then at least we didn’t get this because I gotta say, I’m not seeing sunshine and rainbows in Mileven’s future.
And we can’t get ground-breaking Byler content until they give the general audience clarity on where Mike and El stand first.
So yeah. I’m not sure if I made any points in this at all, but hang in there! Mike’s gay af and he’ll come around one day.

The Batman (2022)
Ok, so here's my non spoilery opinion on the movie.
It's good. It's very, very good.
Forget everything you watched on the trailers, they do not do the movie any justice.
First of all, they don't beat that dead horse again. Aka, we don't have to see the Wayne's die for the millionth time.
Second of all, both Pattison and Reeves understood the assignment.
This is a movie that was clearly written and directed by a comic book reader, it comes across well, not only in the way it's adapted and the characterization of the characters but also in all the subtle references and all the foreshadowing constantly being dropped.
It's also definitely not for children/younger audiences. And the fact that it's not constrained by the DCEU's family-friendly policies really shows. The old Comics Authority would have a field day with this movie
But, moving on...
The first thing you have to bear in mind is that this is a portrayal of a Batman that is young and still fairly new to his role, he has been at it long enough to be extremely effective and win over Gordon's trust but he's still very green emotionally, still discovering himself and his role and growing as a character.
We also see a return to Batman's true origins- the detective and the cryptid, long before he became just another fighting machine (although he still is an excellent fighter and absolutely brutal).
Robert Pattison delivered a very good portrayal of the character, the use of silence and anti social behavior were perfect (very emo but absolutely a young Bruce Wayne), as was his level of intelligence and his single-minded attitude. He clearly understands Bruce Wayne on a level other actors have not (perhaps because he actually reads the comics).
Zoe Kravitz also delivers an excellent performance as Selina, and for once we get a Selina that is actually her own character with her own development instead of just a sexy prop or supporting character for Batman. She's also at the beginning of her career and quite faithful to the essence of her comic roots (although with some twists).
Riddler is fantastic. If you are used to cartoony flamboyant Riddler or Jim Carrey's over-the-top Riddler, forget it. If you are used to awkward and nerdy but hyper competent, extremely intelligent, ruthless, death-trap loving Riddler from the comics though? You're going to love this guy.
Penguin's characterization is good. Very good. I can't go into more without being spoilery.
The visuals and editing are stunning, is it dark and gritty? Yes, it is, but not in the boring, minimalistic, militaristic, too real, dull grey of the Nolan movies, instead it's simply very modern gothic and the use of color is very well thought out, exactly what you'd expect from Gotham.
The music is good, I won't say it's phenomenal, it might not stick with you afterwards, but it's still very good and works really well to complement the scenes.
The wardrobe in general is excellent without being over the top (unless it has to be). And after seeing it in a different light, Pattison's mask is definitely a nod to Adam West's Batman in 66, the disassembled gun bat symbol is dramatic as hell but it actually works really well.
In my humble opinion it might be one of the best Batman interpretations in modern live action (I'm sorry, Keaton, my darling).
Is it perfect? No, no movie is.
But it's still very good and it has POTENTIAL to be so much more, Reeves gave us a lot of foreshadowing and laid down a lot of ground work for sequels that I honestly hope get green-lit but I can't discuss that without spoilers so I'll leave that in a separate review.

oop i have too many feelings i'm going to be very sincere and potentially cringey under the cut. spoilers galore
the way this movie unfolds, the pacing... it's everything. and i feel like it has so many meanings you can extract from it, but yes, pretty much all those meanings definitely seem to orbit around "white people taking advantage of black people", in many many ways. physical, "romantic", psychological, scientific, structural, even in an artistic sense, which actually rhymes with another movie by jordan peele, nope, which i'm definitely watching one day
i heard that nope covers the topic of "chasing spectacle" and/or "profitting from tragedy", and i feel like we get a prologue of that theme here, when the art merchant (?) teels chris that "he wants his vision" - it reminds me of the idea of white people trying to appropriate black people's stories and speaking for them, instead of letting them speak
there's this running theme of "oh but you guys are genetically superior to us... but we're smarter :)" which resonates with a lot of realities such as the fetishization of black people in general (the fucking sex jokes though???) and also how we sorta box them into sports careers and that's "perfectly fine" but don't really let them into the more """intellectual""" jobs, or worse, whenever they have an important breakthrough, we often try to steal it, etc you know how it goes. it's all here, in a metaphorical sense
the coagula is so cartoonishly evil and shameless because they represent an idea, an idea that is as senseless and corrupt and evil as they are. the idea of using black people only as physical workforce, as eye candy, as a fetish, as something to profit from, as a market, as a vessel, as a slave.
yes, it's very obvious from the very trailer that this movie is straight up about racism, and it becomes clear from the very first minute of runtime, but the catch is in how it handles the main topic hand, how deep it really goes, how rose is actually a collection of red flags if you're not so in love you can't see them, how the family doesn't even properly try to hide their intentions 100% because they're confident, because they feel completely in control
and who saves chris? his friend. saved by the only black character in the movie who's not hypnotized. things become okay only when they help and support and trust each other. the only people who truly help chris are the other black people when they temporarily snap out of their suggestion. every time they [insert redbone snippet] stay! woke! OK BUT REALLY I KNOW IT'S 2023 AND THIS WORD IS RUINED but really. every time they remain vigilant and help each other out, chris becomes a little closer to figuring it out. and, in the end... he gets out alive. i could keep going but guh, NOW i know why so many people loved this movie. it's got all these layers of symbolism and yet it's still straightforward enough that you can clearly understand what it's going for, and the closer you look, the more you find.
btw i was iffy about rose from the beginning, and the idea of her being like a succubus that seduces the potential victims did cross my mind, but i honestly didn't think the movie would Go There after rose was like "okay let's go home" and definitely did NOT expect her to be the one in charge
when the police car showed up at the end, my heart, i guess you could say, sank into the floor. but who was driving? none other than the king himself, rod williams. what a guy
also i have never ever felt so satisfied watching a character get horribly killed by the protagonist. rose' brother is such an absolute piece of shit for the entire movie
man. what a movie. i should watch movies more often
9.5/10
finally watching get out 😌
