Eddie's role in Mutual Bullying

Flash and Eddie here are inverse reflections. Eddie starts out as one of Peter's closest allies and his protector from bullies, but eventually switches roles with Flash and becomes far worse than Flash ever was. Eddie no longer feels needed by Peter because he stood up to his bully when he was at his most dangerous. He convinces himself/gets convinced by the Symbiote that he has to get rid of Flash and the rest of Peter's supports to make Peter dependent on him again. This way, they can both have him.

(I have a whole scene in my head about Flash trying to get Eddie to listen via responsibility speech, like Peter did for him when he needed to be better. Eddie throws it back in his face about Flash is still a bully just pretending to better. Accuses him of mouthing words that he doesn't believe in order to fool someone that he couldn't intimidate. Very tense scene since it hits a little close to home even if it isn't really true anymore because self-doubt.)

Suna:

He’s your classmate and the two of you actually sit next to eachother.

He saw how people fear you and avoid you and honestly, he kinda did the same for a while.

When you two started to date, your favorite activity is to wait for him to finish volleyball practice and then the two of you to go to where the kittens are.

He values this so much as it lets him see a very different you compared to the you everyone else sees.

And boy does he feels special when you suddenly become soft for him, kissing him and holding hands after literally roast the shit out of a guy for breathing wrong-

The first time he meet you is when Kita told ordered him to save Atsumu’s ass from you-

He reluctantly went there when he saw you just verbally bullied the piss haired Miya, and honestly, he’s impressed.

Like it’s not everyday you get to see someone more brutal than Miya Atsumu.

When you saw him tho, you were about to verbally insult him too bc you thought he was with his twin. And he notices this.

So what does he do? He also started to verbally assault Atsumu to show you that he’s on your side and it honestly becomes fun as the both of you just straight up roast the other Miya. And the two of you begin to bond after this encounter.

Yeah Kita did not like that-

When you two started dating, it was Atsumu’s worst nightmare when the two of you were together. Like he literally cower in fear when you started to walk into the room.

And to add salt to the injury, you would become very soft to Osamu, making him bentos and such and acting like a genuinely sweet person. Which freaks Atsumu out even more.

He would love to call that out but didn’t dare to ask you both will verbally assaulted him more.

Kita is now very pleased about the fact that your present cause less fight between the twins, he even personally request you to be in their practices.

Oikawa

Nah yah gotta be childhood friends or smt cause anything besides that you’ll both just hated eachother’s guts for sure.

Like as your childhood friend, he will really hold a grasp on your true soft self and why you always have that mean and dark facade.

And you would know his facade too. A very mutual understanding.

So that’s why you both work so well with eachother…Is what close enough people like Iwaizumi would say.

The rest of the world, they still can’t get a grasp on how the fuck are you two together in the first place, much less together for years.

The volleyball team thought that you’ll be another Iwaizumi until they saw you softly comforting Oikawa when he ran into your arms after he got hit by Iwaizumi.

Yahaba tried to get to your soft side to only to be roast into crips. He took a while to recover from that.

Oikawa’s fangirls hated you because they thought of you as “too mean” but never actually have the balls to do anything about that.

Takeru lowkey loves you since you were soft with kids, it actually makes Oikawa a little jealous tbh, because he thought that he’s the only one that can see it. Let’s just say it took you a lot of milk bread and kisses for him to stop pouting (what a baby).

Easily within the top 3 things you never, ever, EVER say to Homura Akemi (most of which people do say ABOUT her) is any variant of, “Madoka is a supporting character in her own story, and Homura’s the TRUE protagonist!”

Yes, it comes from the fact that Madoka would not have been able to become the Law of Cycles if Homura weren’t the most stubborn, lovestruck person ever. However, it has to be emphasized that Homura wouldn’t have been so important either without Madoka. Homura may have given Madoka the ability to change the fate of Magical Girls, but that’s because Madoka gave Homura a reason to live and see some light in the world. Not just because she saved her life, but because Madoka is genuinely that kind. No ulterior motives. No setting Homura up for the steepest fall possible. She’s the first person who ever gave Homura an actual chance. Her parents seem dead, and supplementary material gives a clearer implication that she was, in fact, BULLIED at that private Catholic school…

This is to say nothing of how it’s also implied that Homura’s current power is tied to her love for Madoka. Not just the demon stuff, but her power with the red ribbon, the wings, and the bow the Wraith Arc says is made of their mutual feelings for each other…

While it is true that Madoka would have had unremarkable potential without Homura, the reverse is also true. When you really look at it, one is not more important than the other. It is THEIR story. Not just Homura’s. Not just Madoka’s. They are both vital parts…

It doesn’t help that to me and Homura, it almost feels like people use this as an excuse to dismiss Madoka as “boring” or that Homura “could do so much better than/without her”. These people seem to miss the point entirely, but that’s just me…

If you asked Homura, she’d say she wants you to treat Madoka with the respect she deserves, and I agree…

The Ranger Wikia Billy/Skull Introduction:

Skull and Bones is the queer ship between Billy Cranston and Eugene "Skull" Skullovitch from Boom! Comics Power Rangers and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, etc.

Canon:

In the original live action series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers they were often at odds with each other as bully vs nerd, natural enemies; but as the series progressed they developed a sort of mutual worry/tolerance for each other. Throughout the original series and carrying on through over thirty years they were known to constantly be within each other's orbit, albeit often only in passing. During the Alien Rangers series, it was implied that they were friends before reaching middle school, but scholastic and personal differences took them in different directions.

In the Comic series, they were shown in Go Go Power Rangers issue #3 to have been best friends in grade school with the implications being that something went wrong due to Billy developing some sort of superiority complex that Skull wasn't willing to tolerate. Bulk and Skull were prone to throwing water balloons at Billy--but he was not special in this, as they also did it to other Angel Grove students. Billy was a target of other such annoyances, but never absolute violence and Skull was seen on multiple occasions trying to lessen Bulk's provocations and aggressions--even outright trying to talk Bulk out of his targeting Billy so often in the aftermath of the Blue Ranger saving Skull from being crushed under fallen construction debris and commenting that Skull was not "just like a Ranger" when Skull tried to ingratiate Bulk and himself to him, claiming, "Rangers see everything." Which lead to Skull making an effort to change for the better moving forward.

In the World of the Coinless Universe, Billy was taken out by Drakkon very quickly in the aftermath of taking over the world and it was implied that Skull took up his duties as a spy soon after.

Moments:

Skull trying to apologize/excuse his and Bulk's behavior towards Billy after a fight where Billy yells at him about the reasons why Bulk and Skull seem to enjoy humiliating him, with the belief it's because he's smarter than them. Skull rebukes this by claiming it was only because he acted like he was smarter than them.

The Blue Ranger saving Skull from being crushed under debris and the subsequent conversation that leaves the both of them somewhat changed in little ways moving forward.

Coinless Skull being at the old abandoned Juice Bar with the other Coinless to greet the Prime Universe Billy, Trini, and Zack to get them up to speed on what was happening in their dimension after having gotten Coinless Zack out of the palace (possibly) without blowing his cover. He made it possible for the Rangers to rescue Ninjor, despite it leading to his own sacrifice.

Billy observing Skull's introducing Candice Clark (aka Zelya of Eltar) to Bulk as "Kinda my girlfriend...Kinda." With Kim being curious as to what was happening with Billy calling the situation "mutually assured destruction".

It is considered a rarepair by the general fandom that simply coasts by while looking through the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fanfiction or fanart. However, in the comic fandom, it is the pairing with the highest number of fics and does fairly well among fanartists.

Oftentimes, the fandom ships the pair in a fix-it fic, hurt/comfort, angst and fluff capacity. Childhood friends to Enemies to Lovers is a common trope, and when it comes to the Coinless Universe, there is the exploration of the What If scenario of Billy surviving, Haunting as a Grid Ghost, or Resurrection.

People most often claim to have started shipping for them very late into the third season of the original MMPRs or the third issue of the GGPR comic.

-Romantic: Nine times out of ten the relationship is walked into with a slow burn or excited utterance on the part of either Billy or Skull. Consistently is not often found in the fandom at large, except among the writers who advocate for them most often. -Friendship or Family: There have been no family centric works for them, but friendship is sometimes touched down on in Skull making an effort to change from being a bully or Billy finding himself feeling somewhat abandoned by his Ranger friends or out of sorts from his time on Aquitar.

Trivia:

Billy Cranston started working for Promethea behind his Ranger friends' backs and at one point was almost kicked out of being a Ranger during the events just before the Eltarian War Arc in the comics, which gave off the impression that he was both depressed and willing to take his punishment without much of a fight. This ran parallel with Skull's desperation to find his kind-of-girlfriend, looking into every nook and cranny throughout Angel Grove, despite her actually being perfectly safe and merely bailing on him without any kind of explanation for her actions. Both of them were undergoing new changes and revealing deeper parts of themselves the further into the Arc the comic went.

Skull can play piano and a couple other instruments in both the original series and in the comics. However, in the original series he was ashamed to be known for specializing in classical piano until Adam Park talked him into playing in the school talent show; in the comics it was revealed through the Instagram Alternative Covers that he openly plays where people can see him and appreciated immensely.

Billy created a backup system in the Command Center in the event that Zordon's tube was ever destroyed, which then had him transferred to a robot body he created within Promethea without Grace Sterling's knowledge. This allowed him to fight during the ending of the Eltarian War Arc and confront Lord Zedd (aka Zophram of Eltar) and Zartus of Eltar about a ruse that was the reason the two had become mortal enemies.

In an Annual for the MMPR comics, Bulk and Skull were both given never-before-seen Power Coins by Zordon due to the sage having no other choice but to recruit them to save the other Rangers from a monster that had devoured the entire group. Bulk became the Purple Mighty Morphin Ranger and Skull became the Orange Mighty Morphin Ranger. Their memories were erased without any thanks at all, despite their getting the job done, with the implication that this was not part of canon events for the timeline. However, in the Charge to 100 comic event, the artist Dan Mora featured them in a massive poster of all canon Rangers throughout the television and comic series, which gives alternative implications for many of the Rangers featured.

In the comics, Bulk and Skull are merely interested in maintaining a journalistic podcast of the Rangers in their battles against Rita and have thus far given no implication of wanting to unmask them.

The Coinless Universe version of Billy Cranston died before the age of twenty-one, with Lord Drakkon having either shot or stabbed him right through the heart while Billy was defending the Coinless Trini. Among the Coinless Rangers, only Billy's coin never fell into Drakkon's hands.

Billy lobbied for Matthew Cook to be the Blue Ranger during the Go Go Power Ranger's Infiltrator Putty Arc, and lobbied for Matthew again when he obtained the Green Dragon Coin for Grace Sterling's New Green Ranger.

In the World of the Coinless, Skull was the only spy working espionage within the Red Sentry ranks of Drakkon's army. When Drakkon was banished to a prison dimension, he was moved up the ranks to Brigade Commander, which made him 8th in Command of the entire sentry army.

In the Darkest Hour Arc, Bulk and Skull--as well as Ernie--were some of the few human individuals to sign up for Promethea training to protect Earth in the even that the Rangers failed/were possessed by Dark Specter. They were also allowed into the Command Center, though were never let in on the Ranger's identities in spite of already being involved in fights against invading forces with Jason vouching for them.

Summary: Niragi and the reader were both bullied and grew up together, eventually they bond and start dating. Now I'm making headcanons for you and him during this situation. There will be three parts, before, during, and after the Borderlands. It's set before the Borderlands.

Before the Borderlands

Your relationship with Niragi started at a very young age, given the fact that you were neighbors.

However, you two didn't really acknowledge each other until you were a bit older, mainly in high school and all throughout university.

But the reasons why your relationship got stronger weren't exactly the best, you both got bullied, very often. First, they started bullying you and once Niragi tried to make them stop, they started bullying him too

The kids always found something to bully you about, whether it was Niragi's glasses, haircut, or your inability to catch sarcasm, it didn't matter, they would use it against you if they had the chance.

You'd try to shelter him from the bullying, putting yourself in front of him to take the hits and save him from it, but given your shortness and shyness not much could be done, it made the bullies laugh at your attempt to protect him, usually insulting his masculinity and so on, but he found it endearing, how you were willing to try to help him.

Eventually, you'd start bonding over this, and also your mutual love for dark humor and sometimes sharing your Intrusive thoughts

Later on, feelings of friendship became more and you started dancing around each other with something like love but not quite it, both of being pretty closed after all those years of abuse and bullying.

After a lot of time, he eventually confesses his feelings to you, which takes a lot of effort from him because he's not one to talk about emotions but he makes it work.

In your relationship there's:

Empathy and Understanding - given that both of you have been through the same pain and trauma you have a deep understanding of the possible fears of the other, this leads to you two having a very strong and supportive relationship

Shared identity - Being bullied together can create a sense of shared identity for the victims (yes, I read some articles about it to make sure that it's true), basically bringing a lot of comfort and validation

Desired sense of healing - (at least with real-world Niragi) Both of you desire to heal from the trauma and bullying, so you'll support each other to get through it

But you two also face certain challenges, such as anger issues, mostly from Niragi that you both try to work on so that he doesn't become agressive, or triggering moments or experiences (flashbaks or so) mostly for you, he tries to comfort you as much as he can.

During the Borderland

You and him were separated during most of this time, you were on the other side of the city trying to survive some of the hardest games, usually the ones including sports while he joined the Beach and became a bit more (a lot more) crazy than he was before, now that he didn't have you to keep his anger under control (not in a bad way though) he did whtever he wanted, not caring one bit if anyone got hurt.

You only meet again after Arisu's "Light Bulb" game, you had been hearing rumors about The Beach and how it was a wannabe paradise, so you and two other players who had become your friends tried to look around and see if it was a good idea to join or not. You ended up getting taken by the men of the Hatter (basically the same that happened to Arisu) in the end you convinced them so that they let you stay, sadly your friends weren't allowed. Obviously, the change of clothes is not very cool, and you start to feel exposed, more than you like, as you walk through the crowd you feel all eyes on you, which you don't like. That's until Aguni and his men come and suddenly all eyes are on them, of course, you look at them and you see this one face that seems familiar. Then Aguni starts his speech and all that, suddenly, Niragi starts calling out to the newbies to come meet him privately (like he did to Usagi) because we all know how he is. When he sees that you don't walk towards them (he hasn't recognized you yet) he gets closer to you and yanks your arm so that you get closer to him. That's when he recognizes you, and he is completely shocked, because for all that he knew you were long dead, so he's pleased to see you again, but he doesn't forget where he is or who he is, so he keeps up the act, takes your arm roughly and takes you to his room. Tells his goons to go away and finally you two are alone.

this is making me insane because these cut lines from the script are basically the essence of what sex is in succession - logan's view of the power dynamics of sex and how he has passed this on to his children is such a major theme and conflict in the show: you see it in shiv cheating on tom with nate because she likes to "play" with him (break him) and she cant get that in her sex life with tom, you see it with roman's inability to have sex unless he's being degraded, hell, the very first episode of the series is an elaborate breakdown of how Logan's masculinity and sexuality and even gender identity is intrinsically tied with business. Being good at business = being masculine enough to intimidate or bully your business "opponent" into submission = fucking them and therefore being bad at business (ken fumbling the vaulter deal) = getting fucked (Kendall isn't enough of a man to be my successor)

and Lawrence being gay adds insult to injury for Logan because not only is Kendall being outperformed in business (=getting fucked) he is getting fucked by a gay man (which is the ultimate sin for Logan because being gay = getting fucked = being a woman). In the scene where Logan walks in on Kendall saying that he would give Lawrence a blowjob for the deal Kendall reacts like a child caught saying something forbidden (because he was, and it is)

Kendall blatantly says this when Logan announces that he's staying on as ceo by saying "you fucked me" (=you've denied me from being ceo = I'm not a man in your eyes) and Logan replies with "I'm concerned you're too soft" and "I hear you bent [for lawrence]". Logan can't imagine a world in which business is separate from sex, and how a businessman can actually be good at business by playing nice and sucking up to someone (which would be feminine behavior to logan, and is therefore too "womanly" for business)

But the thing is, that is exactly how Stewy does business. Stewy is feminine in a lot of ways, is polite or at least respectful to his business rivals (his insistence on calling logan "sir"), and is physically affectionate with men that he's in business with (eg hugging josh to greet him on the tarmac) and he is still, from what we can see, very successful. He has no need for dick measuring business techniques like intimidation - eg the scene where kendall is threatening to cut off his dick and stewy just repeats it back to him because kendall could try and intimidate him all he wants, the way Stewy does business is so much more effective because Stewy focuses on the money and maintaining good business relationships and at the end of the day, that is all shareholders care about

so to me the cut lines both read as kendall saying "I'm acknowledging that I've put myself in a very vulnerable business position and you could damage my career very easily right now" but of course he is literally saying, "you can't fuck me, because that would mean you are taking away my manhood". Stewy's reply of "that's why we're such good friends" feels like a double entendre of its own - like stewy is referring to them being able to trust each other because of their mutually assured destruction if one betrays the other, but also an acknowledgement that they are only "such good friends" (and not anything more) because kendall is unable to see having sex with a man as anything other than having his masculinity forcibly taken away from him. If kendall betrays stewy in their business deal, he will be forced to retaliate against kendall to save his career, and stewy knows that kendall understands this in terms of fucking and being fucked. He cant resist making a joke out of how kendall relates sex and business, so he deliberately adds a reference to their friendship (arguably the most intimate relationship that kendall has in his life) which feels like stewy saying, "you think you're just talking about business when you talk about sex, but you're also talking about sex."

I'll answer for Supernova Initiative, Of Starlight and Beasts, Song of Thorns, and Enchanted Illusions!

Supernova Initiative

One of the main antagonists of this story - especially in Jack Tithus' arc in the book - is a man known as The Director, whose real name is, as of yet in the story, unknown. He is responsible for the Junction's entire subdivision of sciences (which is a great deal) - to the public, he is considered an upstanding and philanthropic scientist who is incredibly respected by his peers. In reality, behind closed doors, he is a sadistic, immoral, and incredibly brutal man who is willing to commit atrocities - including numerous illegal experiments on human patients - in the name of what he calls "progress". Jack Tithus, the main protagonist of the story and an intergalactic thief, becomes trapped in the Director's schemes after he and his crew get arrested by the Junction in a heist gone wrong and ends up accepting to become one of the Director's test subjects in order to protect his younger sister from a facing a similar fate.

As an answer to the question: I don't think there are any moments of respect or admiration between them, at least none that are mutual. Jack very much resents, despises, and fears the Director and for a lot of good reasons. Meanwhile, I don't really think The Director is capable of feeling respect or compassion for another human being - he views people, especially his test subjects, as specimens to be studied, like animals in a zoo, and considers himself somehow superior to his fellow human beings. He is capable of feeling a certain sense of "curious admiration/fascination" but more in a sense like a bully holding a magnifying glass over a burning ant. He has a very twisted scientific mindset.

Of Starlight and Beasts

The main antagonist of this series is the Crimson Queen, a dark sorcerer and ruthless ruler who intends to conquer all the kingdoms in the continent and "snuff out the Light" in her neverending quest for revenge against the magic of the people responsible for the deaths of her husband and child centuries ago. The main protagonist of this story is Corah Stormryder, a brave knight-in-training from the capital city of Tirawen, who embarks on a quest to prevent the advance of the Crimson Queen's army and save the kingdom and everyone she loves.

Surprisingly, yes, there are moments of respect and admiration between them, especially after they get to know and understand each other a bit more. Meira, the Crimson Queen, is primarily a woman who has had her hopes and dreams destroyed by the people she trusted in one of the most brutal ways possible - the terrible deaths suffered by her husband and innocent child as a result of this. Corah also knows what it is like to be betrayed and abandoned, having been forced to face those feelings at a very young age when her mother walked out on Corah and her father. Both of them also know that there is something fundamentally wrong with the magic system of their world and that know that the truth has been terribly twisted to the benefit of the corrupt nobility. I think that, in a sense, they understand each other - Meira does see a bit of her younger, more naive self, in Corah's pursuit of valor, while Corah occasionally understands Meira's blind rage and grief, in some cases. But where they fundamentally diverge is that Meira has allowed herself to become so blinded by revenge and her wish to take down a corrupt system, that she is doing to countless others what was done to her centuries ago, meanwhile, Corah would never hurt someone innocent for the mistakes of another and is actively looking for a way to halt the system of lies their kingdom is built upon without losing herself or hurting others in the process.

Song of Thorns

This book has two main protagonists, Roselyn Lethia, a young village girl who discovers a corrupt scheme involving the nobility after her older brother goes missing, and Renn Atrius, a young dhampir who became a thief and is seeking a way to avenge the brutal murder of his father. The main antagonists of this story are most members of the Royal Family of Hyghsummit, who are almost cultish in their ways - especially when it comes to the practice of the elusive Sanguinex, or blood magic, which was a type of magical art that humans... weren't exactly supposed to be able to cast. Out of all these villains, the most important one, story-wise, is King Larkin of Hyghsummit, who is the head of the Royal family and a master of the Sanguinex arts. He is also quite possibly the villain who is most invested in hunting down the protagonists, and who really does not want to lose his current status quo.

No, I don't think this book has any moments like that. While King Larkin often gets "amused by the thrill of the hunt" when it comes to his pursuit of the main protagonists, he definitely does not respect them. He views them more as a petty nuisance that must be eliminated, two pebbles in his path to continue his family's legacy, and he will not have his wish denied. Meanwhile, Roselyn mostly fears the royals in the same amount she despises them - mostly, in her eyes, they are an evil that needs to be exposed and an obstacle in her path to saving her older brother, especially since the Royal family is behind his kidnapping. As for Renn, he holds a strong hatred towards human royalty - when he was five years old, Renn watched his father (an innocent young man who only wanted to find a way for vampires like them to live in peace) be brutally murdered by a vampire hunter who was friends with the human nobility. It's no surprise Renn hates human royals as much as he does. So, the King views them as a nuisance, and both of the protagonists have very personal reasons to hate the nobles - not a very good mix to create "respect and admiration" lmao.

Enchanted Illusions

The villains of this series are the members of the elusive Hemlock Society, who seek to banish Myths and cause a civil war between humans and magical creatures. The main protagonists of each POV in this story are Augustus & Harriet, Cailean & Agatha, Evangeline + Thaddeus & Ambrose.

Strangely, it depends. Some of the protagonists and antagonists in this book have very strong, personal grudges against each other and despise one another tremendously, but some of the more "morally grey" protagonists (such as Augustus and Thaddeus) enjoy the "cat and mouse" game they play with the villains throughout the story, and due to their sometimes more extreme way of handling things, sometimes even the villains feel a sense of admiration of these heroes' wit and occasional ruthlessness. The leader of the Hemlock Society, Abernathy Calsen, is very much a "Moriarty" type of evil mastermind, and often feels amusement out of toying with the main cast - he at the same time admires and despises them, but in a very distant, chess-player sort of way. He admires how they think outside of the box, and how they do everything in their power to thwart the plans he's set in motion, even when that's a foolish effort in his eyes. An interesting dynamic, to say the least.

Nezuko's Opinions on the Hashira, Co-Protagonist AU

Kyojurou Rengoku -> Doesn't trust him at first, because of the whole "joyfully declared they should execute her and her brother" thing. On the Mugen Train, she vocalizes this lack of trust, and Kyojurou apologized before assuring her he's willing to remain civil. Her trust builds when he wakes up from his demon-induced sleep, and tells her she's doing a good job. By the time the train derailed, the two had built a mutual trust, which saved the Flame Hashira's life.

Giyuu Tomioka -> She's not exactly happy with him for stabbing her and f***ing off shortly after. Yeah, he was doing his job, but that stab wound freaking hurt! Later, they bond over their older sibling sacrificing themselves for their sake. It does end with Nezuko slapping Giyuu for the self-deprecating BS, but Giyuu can now tell Shinobu he has a friend. He's happy about that.

Shinobu Kochou -> Didn't trust her anywhere near as far as she could throw her. Considering she constantly smells like wisteria, and works with poison specifically made to kill demons, Nezuko feels she's well within her rights to be skittish around the Insect Hashira. Eventually, the two girls talk, and Shinobu admits she's okay with demons that don't eat humans because that was the world Kanae wanted. They bond pretty quickly after that, partially over wanting to bring their older siblings' dreams to fruition.

Tengen Uzui -> Finds him weird. Not much else to say. She was ready for violence when he tried to kidnap Aoi and Naho. She also questioned his strategic choices by having her brother(who she knows can't lie for s***), and their two best friends with unknown honesty capabilities and little to no skill in stealth, do a covert infiltration op(The covert op part of this went about as she expected. Tanjirou got noticed right away as a man, Inosuke punched a person while chasing the demon, and Zenitsu vanished.). They're at least chill working together when Gyutaro shows up.

Mitsuri Kanroji -> Absolutely adores her, she's the big sister Nezuko never knew she wanted. Nezuko is more than happy to spend time with Mitsuri, and trusts the Love Hashira with her life. Plus, Mitsuri gives great hugs, even if they crush Nezuko's spine into dust at times. Good thing she regenerates!

Gyomei Himejima -> Mountain. That was her first thought when she laid eyes on this man. He's chill, when he's not insisting on killing her and Tanjirou or that she's possessed Tanjirou. Didn't appreciate either of those sentiments. But some conversation leads to a mutual understanding, and they talk about the guilt they feel for not being able to save those close to them in the midst of a demon attack.

Muichirou Tokito -> Someone who's her age and hasn't tried to kill her. Second favourite after Mitsuri.

Sanemi Shinazugawa -> Does not like him. Four stab wounds is an excessive amount of stab wounds, he insulted Tanjirou, and she is all for ending his bloodline. And then he bullies Genya, her fellow member of the "Second Oldest Child" Squad and the "Demon, But Not Evil" Squad. It takes a lot of self-restraint to not permanently sterilize the man and shatter his kneecaps.

Obanai Iguro -> He only gets points because Mitsuri likes him. Other than that, Nezuko is sending him death glares, and he is sending them right back. And even Mitsuri's affection won't stop them from flipping each other off and making silent threats of violence.

So I have a new hyperfixation character and it is The Spot from Spider-Man, and that led to me coming up with a Spidersona, a universe for them, and several side character/villain reimagines (plus my OC I already ship with Doc Ock, killing two birds with one stone here!). And while I don't have anything drawn yet due to my wrist getting injured, I do have a lot written down that I want to share!

Spider-sense, reflexes/agility, wall climbing, major jumping ability, super strength, (aka standard Spidey powers). Also: photographic memory, enhanced vision, a natural webbing released from the fingertips that can't be swung from but can slow down or catch others

Location: 

A much, much more fashionable world's New York Garment District, which takes up most of NYC now

Backstory: 

An orphan found abandoned on the doorstep of a fashion boutique, Blythe was taken in and adopted by the owners, Marianne and Rainier Basile, who unfortunately both perished in an accident when Blythe was ten. Rainier’s sister Maylis stepped up to take care of them, and she quickly proved to be a kind and caring adoptive parent, sharing with Blythe a love of photography.

Similar to many others, Blythe was an awkward geek in high school and a loner, and what little respect and status they had was gained through their roles on the photography club and as photographer for the yearbook committee. Bullying was common, but despite everything Blythe graduated early.

After graduation it was like they flourished, gaining a mentor in one of the most decorated photographers in the world; LeBene, a former wartime photojournalist turned nature photographer who taught them everything he knew and was almost like a father figure to them. Their entry into the photography world, and LeBene’s care, gave Blythe a sense of confidence, fashion, and style, and they no longer felt awkward and alone anymore. LeBene often told them "Always put people before the art. Use your camera for good." Blythe was overjoyed when LeBene and Aunt Maylis began a romance.

On one of their first solo assignments, Blythe was sent to shoot photos for a "Men of Science" beefcake calendar at a nearby laboratory. In the middle of photographing a lab technician holding a strategically placed folder, there was a sharp stabbing sensation on the back of Blythe's thigh, though they didn't see what caused it. Despite the pain, Blythe continued to work, until collapsing at their studio apartment and sleeping for three days. Still, they did at least manage to get a boyfriend out of the experience, and a foothold in the photography industry.

It didn't take Blythe long to realize they were developing superpowers and they designed and crafted a suit to photograph themselves in for fun. Instead, Blythe wound up saving someone's life, and found that they actually make a pretty good hero. As they started their heroics, they also started to move up in the world, and was hired at a famous fashion magazine. Unfortunately, with the increase in costumed crime and a beginners workload, Blythe and their boyfriend decided to mutually break up, and Blythe attended the wedding of LeBene and Maylis by themself. 

The increased pressure at work and on the streets, began to cause Blythe to care less and less about the duty they had willingly taken up. Long story short, one day when Blythe put protecting their camera over stopping a criminal, that criminal happened to run over LeBene, who died in Blythe's arms. From that day forward, Blythe vowed to not only stop crime, but also to only use their camera for good (and fashion). Using their powers and photography skills, Blythe takes down both supervillains and corrupt capitalists.

Personality: 

Takes photography very seriously and always has at least one camera within arms reach. Mildly boy (or well, old man) crazy, in that they sure do like getting grabbed by their middle aged enemies an awful lot (though they do always get the upper hand on the bad guys in the end). Blythe still has an incredibly geeky side, and has to hide it while mingling amongst the fashion elite. Hardworking, dedicated, and very good at helping others feel comfortable and safe.

Misc:

Has no idea they were EVER bitten by a spider and would be horrified to find out.

Their boss is J. Jonah Jameson, head of the magazine! He’s tough but fair and considers Blythe to be a good person but thinks Shutterbug is tacky and boring.

By “a more fashionable world”, think like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fashion in a golden art deco-inspired city. Very in-your-face style.

Blythe doesn’t like touching things without gloves.

Their favorite camera was LeBene’s, and it is only used on the most special of occasions.

Their studio apartment is actually pretty small and cramped, with the walls covered in photographs, unintentionally making it look like a damn serial killer lives there instead of a superhero.

They’re working on not going heart eyes over their villains, but so far they’re having no success.

Despite being a fashion photographer, Blythe is terrible at telling what they look good in, luckily their best friend, Graham Stacy (a fellow photographer at the magazine), helps them with shopping.

Mostly uses their organic webbing for ease of photography. It doesn’t show up on camera, so it can be very useful.

Typically goes by they/them but is fine with any pronouns and prefers to be called a girlfriend when being dated as opposed to partner/enbyfriend/etc. Being called she/her by citizens whilst in costume just means it’ll be harder for others to connect Shutterbug to Blythe.

Despite their fame, Blythe doesn’t have a social life and spends what little free time they have watching old horror movies and playing video games. They’re still majorly geeky, it’s just usually hidden.

Not nearly as book-smart/scientific as most other Spidey-types, and by far the worst at math in the entire multiverse. Yes, that includes the car. Spider-Mobile can do math better than them.

Drinks an ungodly amount of coffee and caffeine, but doesn’t suffer from it  because of a pre-existing mutation the spider had where it could handle caffeine.

Villains:

Doctor Octopus- During an experiment gone wrong, shy and reserved Otto Octavius was forever fused to a set of rose-gold robotic tentacles he created and he’s making it everyone else's problem. He’s very charming and sadly taken, but also very ruthless (with a new god complex) and one of Shutterbug’s biggest and most intelligent foes.

Melusine- An act of corporate sabotage that destroyed her life's work caused Mima Marsh to lose her legs and her career. She turned to crime as a way to get vengeance on those who caused her loss and the world itself. Flies around connected to a very classy mechanical mermaid tail and has robotic flying fish minions. Locked down Doc Ock as her partner fast.

The Spot- Johnny Ohnn was one of the scientists posing for the calendar, and he and Blythe briefly dated until work became too hectic for them both. He was in a lab accident while working on portals and forever changed into a being of portals and turned to a life of crime after losing his job. Blythe thinks they can still work things out. (He’s getting his own section too because he’s a major character)

Electro- An electronica musician in the wrong place at the wrong time, Max Dillon became more electricity than human, and of course turned to a life of crime, but he still makes pretty good music on the side. Tries to not kill anyone, though he’s not always successful. His crimes mostly include breaking into power plants to turn them into giant music machines.

Vulture- After being forced out of the company he created, Adrian Toomes stole an invention that allows him to fly and make life hell for those who planned the hostile takeover. Ironically he’s a kinder person after becoming a criminal and regularly donates to charity. Blythe would let him be if he wasn’t swooping at people on the streets.

Mysterio- Illusionist Quentin Beck lost his stage in Las Vegas to a pop star and decided to try his luck in NYC. Having no luck there either, he decided to put his skills to use in a less legal way. Has an ego even bigger than Doc Ocks. Teams up with Electro a lot and their fights are actually a highlight for citizens. 

Lizard- Dr. Curt Connors injected himself with lizard DNA on a dare from his science buddies and transformed into a big lizard monster and roams NYC’s sewers. Still pretty intelligent, he just eats people now and has a lot less morals. Has an ex-wife and son that he still tries to visit once a month, but they’re less than pleased when he tries to make them lizards too.

Kraven The Hunter- Sergei Kravinoff comes from a long line of furriers, but when NYC’s biggest buyer decided to go fur-free, he decided to seek revenge, using skills learned from the other half of his family; notorious big game hunters. As stylish as he is deadly, he hates Shutterbug for always getting in his way, while they’re kinda low key jealous of his style.

Shocker- Herman Schultz is a mercenary with vibro-shock gauntlets who views villainy like his old construction job, very 9-to-5 blue collar. Doesn’t hold a grudge against Shutterbug for foiling his crimes, and is down to team up with others at any time, though few take him up on the offer. A pretty chill guy when he’s off the clock.

White Rabbit- Model and heiress Lorina Dodson was disinherited after a very embarrassing scandal. In a rage, she paid Shocker a ton of cash to get her a ton of rabbit-themed weapons that she uses for criminal mischief and making her parents mad and dressing like a Playboy bunny. Always down to let Shutterbug take a pic or twelve during fights.

Backstory:

The only son of Patty and Albert Ohnn, Johnathon was a shy, awkward kid, who grew into a shy, awkward (and lanky, his growth spurt was very generous) adult but one with an autism diagnosis that explained a lot to him. 

After graduating from college, his brilliant mind was quickly snatched up by Alchemax Laboratories, and thrown into a number of projects, proving himself a reliable and efficient member of the team. 

Whilst working on a small scale project, Johnathon decided to put himself out there and sign up for a “Men Of Science” calendar that was being done to raise money for a new coffee machine in the break room. He was surprised when he showed up and found out it was a ‘beefcake calendar’.

The photographer shooting the event noticed his discomfort and offered to shoot his page during lunch on a closed set, and he quickly agreed. During that photo-shoot, he felt surprisingly relaxed, confident, and comfortable. Though still the most covered up in his photos, wearing a lab coat and strategically covered boxer-briefs, he was actually proud of how they turned out, and exchanged phone numbers with the photographer, who he learned was named Blythe Basile.

One phone call turned into having lunch together, which turned into dinner, and quickly they started dating. Johnny, as Blythe called him, was experiencing a massive positive boost in confidence and his personality, he even became friendly with his co-workers. But after about a year, things quickly took a turn.

Blythe was hired at their dream job as a fashion photographer for a highly popular magazine, and Johnny’s project (studying and trying to create a teleportation device) was approved by higher ups. As work began to pile up for them both, they agreed to a mutual break-up, at least until things became less hectic, which they did not.

While about to make the breakthrough of his life, and possibly one of the biggest discoveries of all time, a portal opened, which was the plan, but what was not expected was that the Vantablack portal would pull him inside and vanish. He had entered a strange dimension of darkness and light, where he was trapped and studied the unusual properties of the location as best he could. 

For three weeks he was gone without a trace, before emerging, transformed and changed by his experiences, in his lab. He was shocked to find no one believed who he was, and he was shunned by everyone he met, losing his job, home, and even his parents were horrified and refused to believe him. He didn’t bother contacting Blythe, as he didn’t want to experience that painful rejection again.

With no other choice, Johnathon, now calling himself The Spot, decided to work at stealing lab equipment from various labs to try and find a way to turn himself back while hopefully keeping his abilities. Unfortunately for him, Shutterbug stands in his way.

Misc:

Has no idea his most hated foe is Blythe and would be horrified to find out.

Not able to access the multiverse, he’s not THAT powerful, he’s more connected to a pocket dimension and anywhere in the one universe he’s from.

Casually dated others before Blythe but never got past second base before.

Like Blythe, his vision was fixed by his transformation. Despite his eyes no longer seeming to exist. He’s never figured out how that works.

Much more of a trypophobic design than most Spots have, with a small cluster of spots typically forming around where one of his eyes used to be, before it forms into one big one and migrates on his face while another cluster starts appearing.

Technically a genius! He just doesn’t have the confidence to assert himself as much as ones like Doc Ock or Melusine.

Would let Blythe put his hair up for him before work, but after they broke up he started leaving it down again.

Gamer boy, puzzle games are usually too easy so he mostly plays FPS games and has ridiculously good aim after years of practice. It’s his main source of stress relief.

The tea to Blythe’s coffee, this Spot has a soft spot for matcha and Darjeeling, but will drink any kind except sweet tea.

Has a bad habit of being condescending and talking down to others but is working on it.

So I watched it again (and cried again) I learned some new things

SPOILERS AHEAD

At the end when spider saves Coninel Miles and miles wakes up he calls him spider as what he wants to be called meaning he fully accepts him as his own son, even when he's about to kill kiri and neytiri is about to kill spider, miles stops and notices himself wanting to protect spider

When neyteme died lo'ak looked at his hands and knew that he had caused thw death of his brother and when spider and Jake are going back to the ship lo'ak even says that it's his fault that his brother is dead and Jake doesn't yell at him but says "You've done enough" meaning that Jake understands that lo'ak caused his death but knows it was an accident

And when neyteme and lo'ak fought thw other boys Jake notices as neyteme trys to take the fall (even though it wasn't his fault) Jake sees that and even says "you need to stop protecting him" (I think that's what he said) and even lo'ak knows that was his fault but the point im trying to make is that Jake's sees himself in lo'ak an exact copy of himself and he know that his own older brother must have taken the blame of Jake when they were back on earth so he knows what it's like to cause alot of trouble and he wants to try and stop lo'ak from continuing to make alot of mistakes

Jake and lo'ak are the exact same: they were both once outsiders to a new world/place , Jake bonded with toruk and earned his respect back while lo'ak bonded with payakan and that makes him more of an outsider, Jake fell in love with neytiri, and lo'ak fell in love with tsireye which also means lo'ak is just like his father

Idk if anyone else has notice this yet or not but kiri cares alot about spider and they both have mutual feelings for eachother even when they were kids they would play together so there might be more for the two in the future

Even with Rotox and kiri, at the beginning he notices that kiri wasn't with them when they first jumped in the ocean and sounded like he was worried about her, what i think is happening is the "bully friend" method wear someone bullys them and other people sew it as trying to the other attention but I'm not sure about it

Hello! So I usually only read your meta but today I was looking through your blog and discovered that you ship nobamai. You're the first person I've found who ships it I was really surprised and so pleased. I also ship them and have infact from their first appearance in the anime, the tension was so thick between them and their opposing views and personalities it was delicious. And then I found that the fandom favours nobamaki which is a good ship and I can see why people ship it but it's just not for me. Really happy someone else ships nobamai too. On the other hand, I never thought I'd like and ship fushiita so much. I usually dislike the friends to lovers trope and any ships associated with it and I'm still sometimes amazed why I like it so much when I don't usually like ships like fushiita. Anyway, thanks for reading my rambling.

I prefer ships that are more conflict-ridden, so while I can understand liking Nobara and Maki for the intense chemistry they have as firends and their more mutual admiration I feel like Nobara and Mai have more to learn from each other so a personal relationship could lead to a lot of positive growth.

I actually share your opinion, I was also surprised I ended up shipping Megumi and Yuji as much as I did. Fushiita is a lot different from both friends -> lovers ships, and when people ship characters that are two Shonen RivalsTM.

One big thing about Megumi and Yuji is that they genuinely read as friends, and get along with each other well. Here is my hot take, both Naruto + Sasuke, and Bakugo + Midoriya are ships I cannot get invested in at all because they don't seem to have a solid friendship. It's not even the history of Bakugo bullying Midoriya, it's just they do not ever seem to hang out, or even have conversations without Bakugo throwing some kind of tantrum and insulting him.

Megumi and Yuji have the kind of instant chemistry that Killua and Gon have. From the moment they meet Megumi forms a close personal attachment to Yuji from admiration for his good nature, whereas Yuji also admires Megumi for being smart and responsible. Even when the two of them have an argument, in the aftermath Yuji admits he was wrong for getting so angry at Megumi so fast and realizes he should have respected his opinion because Megumi is a really thoughtful person who has reasons for believing that way. Yuji does something rare which is acknowledge that both of their differing opinions can co-exist, because they have their own way of doing things.

The whole point of Megumi and Yuji is that they work together well, the conflict does not come from the fact that they are different, that they argue too much, they are even able to have conflicts like any other friendship without completely breaking apart. It is a nice, solid foundation for a friendship.

HOWEVER, there is still conflict which is where a lot of friends to lovers fall flat. Most friends to lovers I have seen in shipping is like the only conflict comes from the "Will they, Won't they?" part on whether or not they are going to get together. For Megumi and Yuji, they have had a deep conflict in their friendship that drives them apart from the start of the series. They have an obstacle to overcome. This obstacle is the fact that Megumi doesn't care about saving the world, he only wants to save a select few people around him and one of those people is Yuji. Yuji on the other hand is self-sacrificial to a fault. His entire character revolves around the contemplation of his death.

In Yuji's mind everything is set, he is going to die, it's only a matter of when. This is an argument that comes up with them again and again, Megumi keeps reminding Yuji that he's too important to die, while Yuji is looking for a big enough reason to die. Yuji may find a way to sacrifice himself to save the world, but his death won't save Megumi, it will in fact destroy him. That's why the first thing Megumi says when Yuji is in his post Shibuya-Funk is "Save me!" Yuji can't disappear on his own because Megumi needs his help right now saving Tsumiki. Yuji is constantly searching for a reason to die, whereas Megumi is constantly searching for a way Yuji can keep living.
