something something about how ive noticed etho in the life series is like, extremely loyal to those he calls his teammates (+bdubs for some reason. doesnt matter if hes actually allied with him or not)
because like, i was watching the new secret life ep and he has the chance to kill grian in a few hits because he knows where he is and grian has exactly zero armor on with the invisibility. he also knows where cleo is MULTIPLE times but he doesnt ever sell her out.
contrast this to him chasing joel saying "oh yeah no its ok im trying to run from them with you!"
#uhhh tags fuck#ethoslab#ill tag cleo bdubs and joel cause theyre mentioned i guess#zombiecleo#bdubs#smallishbeans#grian#i didnt forget i mentioned grian i promise#im just having thoughts

this probably makes no sense but like what I'm getting from the most recent dunmesh chapters is that it's trying to poise the act of denial as something akin to gluttony, right, like the way these chapters keep being structured as bad thing happens -> find a way to avoid it -> oops this avoidance actually made things worse -> repeat, then all culminating in the obliteration of desire. Like the only way to stop the cycle of chaos and harm is by coming to terms with the initial instance of loss that started it all, and going forward from there. Like it's kind of framing their denial of farlyn being truly dead as something that has spiraled out of control and become almost selfish, perhaps reflected in this idea of being too indulgent (as seen in like. how laios' monster form indulges in his childhood fantasies -- it's a form of gluttony then represented by the uh. Things. He does in ch 91)
#im just having Thoughts#dungeon meshi#i love farlyn dearly and its very sad to admit this but. shes not coming back yall 💔

So I was thinking about Ace Attorney as I tend to do and I was also thinking about Saw because I had just watched one of the movies and this one specific quote kind of struck me as something Klint would have said to Stronghart and its:
"You think it's the living that will have ultimate judgement over you, because the dead will have no claim over your soul."
I have no explanation I just think it could kinda possibly fit at least a little bit. I might be wrong though. Shrug.
#im just having thoughts#im cooking some really cool art also so get ready for that sometime soon#ace attorney#tgaac#dgs#dgs spoilers

Playing duskwood with a male mc is kinda pain and suffering because Jake isn't as explicitly romantic but like. So far. I'm kinda enjoying it because they now have extremely homoerotic "friendship" vibes. I played duskwood before realising I was trans and then had to stop playing because it was making me dysphoric. Two years later. I'm playing it again from the start as a dude and I wasn't expecting the Jake and male mc friendship to also be so romanticy BUT IT KINDA IS???
So valid to every other guy that's upset Jake isn't explicitly romanicable. Me personally I think Jake has internalised biphobia and has repressed feelings for MC and that they're in love/hj. Idk. I'm weirdly enjoying the vibe. Kind of gay of man to have his interest piqued by another man and then give said other man special hacking abilities and immediately trust him and LITERALLY COMPARE HIS "CONNECTION" TO HIM WITH THE CONNECTION HE HAS WITH A CHARACTER WHO CANONICALLY HAS A CRUSH ON HIM.
Like. There's quite literally no heterosexual explanation for this. Jessy has a pretty obvious crush on MC. And Jake probably knows she does because he reads other people's convos. SO WHATS THE STRAIGHT "haha they're just bros" EXPLANATION FOR THIS??????
#btw im not super far ahead dont spoil anything#im just having thoughts#duskwood#txt#duskwood jake#duskwood male mc#<- guys we need more content fr. theyre literally homosexuals. do you see the vision#wish it could be explicitly gay but ill take homoerotic connection anyday#jessy 🤝 jake. bisexuals in love with mc

Aziraphale is the funniest character in Good Omens. Like, he lies...a lot. He even lies to God. He sucks at lying, and he's always anxious about it, but he constantly gets away with it. He gets himself into situations just so Crowley can rescue him. He's down to kill a child. He's an angel, but he commits so many sins. He does magic tricks, despite the fact that he can actually do magic. He's annoyed half the time, and the other half he finds everything delightful. He says things that are unintentionally hilarious. He's wonderfully contradictory, and that is so beautiful.
#he's so funny#i just watch him do things and laugh because he's so delightful#he's a bastard :)#aziraphale#good omens#good omens 2#good omens aziraphale#im just having thoughts

I just think when you look at Babs and conversations about Babs she’s really split into like roles and the way she’s viewed and the way her relationships are viewed shift depending on what role she’s playing and what comic you are reading. There is the way she is written in BoP and then there is also the way she is written in Cassandra’s Batgirl and the role she plays there. Then there is also the role she plays in newer Batman canon and also the role she plays in older Batman canon. And let’s not forget the role she is written to play by Steph writers and Helena writers and also Dick writers etc. Idk I just think it’s been interesting to see how Babs gets talked about depending on what one is reading and what characters she’s around.
#like is it just me?#and there is also like DickBabs in relationship to how that is seen in Cass circles#like hmm#im just having thoughts#barbara gordon#and another blog wrote a comment on my post that I really loved#they said “but even with her best writers it feels like DC has only ever stumbled into Babs' most iconic moments”

Thinking about religion in the vaults-
(Disclaimer: I'm not religious! I used to be but my perspective as more of someone effected by it than as a believer.)
I haven't seen a lot of canon material depicting it, but we know that Vault Chaplain is a job people can get:
(What Brotch has to say about getting this in the G.O.A.T)
But in the case of Vault 101, the ultimate authority isn't God, but the Overseer, so I don't believe that worship is actually highly encouraged. Unless Dictators are using faith to leverage their power and give themself divine authority, it can be disadvantageous to insinuate that there is a higher authority than them! In the case of Vault 101, there's a difference of regime between Alphonse Almodovar and the people who came before him. Before Alphonse, Vault 101 was open and seemed to have a "laxer" atmosphere compared to when came into power and started spouting a lot of xenophobic bullshit.
Dictators tend to either use God to support their authority or tear down religious institutions to assert that their will is more powerful than God. We know that Alphonse used his authority given to him by Vault-Tec, his own charisma, and the loyalty of Security to enforce his authority and he cares more about preserving the "purity" of the vault. He says 'God' once in all of his dialogue:
So, clearly there is some level of religious institutions in vaults because it's America and assumed Christianity is at play here as well as preserving the American ideal. However, it's in Vault-Tec's best interests to push the narrative that they and everyone affiliated with them are of highest authority so that they can keep people under their control.
I don't have things to cite for this one because I can't find a good source, but while the Enclave sponsored and was involved with Vault-Tec, Vault-Tec wasn't actually loyal to them. While the Enclave was supposed to have information sent to them about the vaults I do believe none of it actually went to them and we have repeated examples of the Enclave trying to force their way inside Vaults. If Vault-Tec wanted to let the Enclave in there would've been protocols for this for vault dwellers, but I personally haven't see anything of the like. Vault-Tec was committed to "preserving" America in name. In reality, we all know that they cared more about experimentation. Religion was most likely viewed as a tool to experiment on humanity, and if not made to be front and center, it took a backseat within vault functions.
Vault Boy replaces or accompanies religious figures and Vault-Tec propaganda either is tied into or replaces religious scripture. Obeying the Overseer is said before obeying God, to disobey the Overseer (Vault-Tec) would be to be a sinner. The USA already has such a strange relationship with religion and twisting it for it's own gain either in State or culturally and bastardizing their own beliefs. It's constant hypocrisy and I feel like the cherry-picking and bastardization is at an all-time high in vaults.
That, and anything other than Christianity is ridiculed and squashed unless being manipulated and abused in a vault experiment. Any of the beauty of religions is warped, twisted, and sanitized. Rather than there being someone benevolent watching over you and protecting you it's emphasized for surveillance. Community is emphasized to keep you from thinking individualistically because there is no upward movement to a society where everyone has their place. There's none of the religious ecstasy of worship, because you can't be dedicated to another higher power.
I have my own complex feelings on religion, but it's undeniable that there is beauty and good in it. That forcibly taking it away from people and bastardizing it is still fucked up, and I feel like the Vault would take all the good of religion and use it's most fucked up parts. Religious trauma squared. It's honestly very typically American ;;

Oh no! I'm so sorry I can't come to your Halloween party! I was already planning to contemplate my existence and if it actually has any meaning and then feel the full weight of my bone crushing loneliness after coming to the realization that nobody actually likes me and I'm just floating from one moment to the next in this blip of time that is my achingly short life span. Maybe next year!

Okay, so I've seen a lot of talk about the tour, specifically the size of it, a lot of people mad about places they usually go and are not going and a lot of people overjoyed because they are going near them, but is someone else finding it kinda small giving 5sos standards? Like that's the whole thing. And it's like? 40 shows worldwide? Sure is missing Australian dates and Asia is always a possibility and there's a chance that a South America country gets more than one show but like? Wwj had 42 shows and it was only in the us. I'm not saying go full slfl 101 shows in 8 months but like? 40 shows with their usual flow feels kinda small.

thinking about chokehold in terms of the “we” referring to the vessels while the “you” refers to sleep. when thinking “every sleep token song is about/for sleep” verse one could be referring to the vessels being “made for” sleep and bringing worshippers to it, like even though they were normal people once, they were always fated to do this. sleep always had them in an inescapable chokehold.

thinking about mikaela again and how silly his whole dynamic with the other vampires is like he’s at least a 7th or 8th progenitor, a noble, and literally no one treats him like one bc they just dont Know and then the ones that do know still treat him like just some Guy to an extent. even funnier if you consider that mikaela might be a 7th on the exact same level as ferid yet ferid still gets to go ‘:) i’m going to boss you around and you are going to listen :)’ like ?? and on top of all of that there’s the fuckery going on with the first and mikaela being his literal son ??? not even a kid he sired like his whole son (which also makes me wonder when the first had mikaela and how much of an angel that makes mikaela bc the first is definitely a fallen angel) which means that mikaela is 100% like a 2nd progenitor or more and literally no one is aware . since the vampire nobility seem such a stickler for hierarchy i can only imagine how they’re going to feel after all of this is revealed to them
#idk where i was going with this#im just having thoughts#but not the completey coherent kind#augh idk i just want to put him in a blender#ons#mikaela hyakuya#juri rambles#en
