Man I just love dressing crazy. Star-shaped eyeliner, jacket covered in bottle caps with smiley faces, bright pink glasses, piercings in my face. I thrive in the weird looks from strangers. I love being that person little kids think is a fairy and remember for years. I love giggling at myself while I make faces in the mirror.
To me, this is what it is to be punk. To make weird, messy art. To sing your crooked voice as loud as you can. To be the most beautiful ugly. To be that creature 8 year old you wrote stories about in their school notebooks. To be the greatest you you can be.
There is nobody on this Earth who can do you like you. So why not go out and be the best you the world's ever seen?

in lieu of having posted any writing/headcanons/asks in the past few days because i have been *so* busy and unable to do anything fandom-related which is terrible and evil, i have a poll out of morbid curiosity and self-indulgence. i've been meaning to ramble here about how i feel about DC's lack fo Deaf representation and which Batfam members i would personally make Deaf, but i am mildly curious about the larger opinion and now i will subject you all to the question, i would love to hear thoughts/opinions/headcanons on any specific choices. (would love d/Deaf/HoH opinions esp but i'm mostly expecting this to reach the hearing crowd, so opinions from hearing ppl are ones i'm very curious about. if you've never given it thought before you are going to now or else /lh)
#necrotic nuisance#<- new tag for nonserious shit like this#batfamily#batclan#deafculture#i think not including bruce in this poll bc i ran out of options is *so* fucking funny so i'm keeping it#bc realistically i could bump off more tertiary characters like harper or jpv to include him#but i won't.#hearing people are seriously invited to reblog and share opinions or headcanons i'm so genuine#just like. behave about it.#i have personal headcanons but i will save sharing them until the poll is finished#as not to skew results#i also have a hunch on who will lead. based on popular headcanons i see#but i will also not share that as to not skew it#i'm using the Deaf identity as an umbrella term that can include Hard of Hearing as well btw#so if your headcanon is more HoH leaning it is counted#i do believe this is something most fans haven't rlly thought about#but i *really* want to write fics with Deaf rep and i have been waffling on who to make Deaf#so. this poll is also a field test of who you would like to see me (a Deaf bitch) write as Deaf.#and i totally pinky promise not to project super duper hard on them. (i'm so lying)#i will get back to writing and the ask games i promse!#tomorrow i have the day off after 4 bc someone else is watching the baby so ic can just chill#also *please please* if you have disabled headcanons for any batfam (or DC in general) character#send them to me. i want to see them. i would love to talk about them with you.#as an anon ask as a message as a reblog idc#gimme.#this isn't my usual content but shhh lemme be self indulgent.#both bc i'm curious and bc i wanna write Deaf shit so. we take a break from my usual nonsense for this.#i'll post writing tomorrow to make up for it#also i have to remind myself this is my blog i can do what i want with and not just be a content machine. yk

Three antagonists, three distinct attitudes, all representative of what the Empire stands for as a whole
Tumblr media
I wanted to take a moment to appreciate what a good job TBB has been doing with its antagonists so far, especially our three imperial officers here. A good antagonist is so important to a good story and I love how each of these characters has a distinct feel about them even though they’re all meant to represent the Empire’s worst qualities. (Yes, Hemlock isn’t included here. That guy's a whole new category of yikes.)
Tarkin: ruthless authoritarianism
Tarkin is the perfect representation of unfeeling single-minded power. He's willing to go however far it takes to accomplish the Empire's goals, eradicating all that stand in its way or dare to oppose it. He hated the jedi for their reluctance to go against their moral code and their unwillingness to bend to the Republic’s will and he hates the clones for much the same reason.
Tarkin believes that nothing should stand in the way of victory. He is the face of a regime that tolerates no opposition, no hesitation and no failure and shows no inhibitions when enforcing those rules.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Morals and human lives are meaningless when the interests of the Empire are at stake.
In a way that simplicity is what makes him so intimidating – his is a straightforward but absolute point of view. That’s scary as hell when it belongs to someone with so much power.
Rampart: calculating ambition
Unlike Tarkin, Rampart represents those that see power as an end rather than a means to one. He’s the rank climber. The smarmy bootlicker. The ambitious overachiever who’s willing to make concessions in the name of success.
We learn that the implementation of chain codes was his initiative. That he’s the one behind project War Mantle. We see how animated and obsequious he is when talking to Tarkin only for him to show his true (dismissive and arrogant) colors to those he considers his subordinates later.
He readily uses and manipulates those he can use for the sake of his own personal gain. This could be the renegade batch or Crosshair to whom he's open about his doubt in regards to his loyalty and that’s where he and Tarkin differ.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s dangerous because he is cunning and his cunning allows him to exploit the opportunities the Empire has to offer. He may or may not care for the system itself, but he certainly cares about what it can do for him, which is why he works to further its cause.
It's the kind of self interest that has little regard for morality. Rampart isn’t tolerant of anything that threatens his reputation and by extension his chances of success and he will dispose of anyone who isn’t convenient to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which makes it all the more ironic that he himself was disposed of when he became inconvenient to the Empire.
Nolan: bigoted loyalty
If Rampart was the calculating opportunist, Nolan is his (even more) despicable counterpart. He’s the small insecure man who nonetheless profits from his political alignment, not because he’s competent but because he’s a good little imperial henchman and it gives him a sense of importance.
Tumblr media
All in all, he’s the precursor to all the bumbling imperial officers we see in later star wars media, who stand not on merit but on selling themselves to a regime.
A man who cowers at a little turbulence
Tumblr media
and has no experience under his belt and yet touts his rank and considers himself better than the clones.
He’s the typical bigot who tramples over others – resorting to derogatory labels (such as 'used equipment') and treating them as less than human – just because he can and because it gives him a power high.
If Rampart saw the clones as a resource that could be used to the very end, Nolan sees sparing medical supplies for one as a ‘waste of resources’. Which is bullshit of course. But prejudice is pretty bad at pretending it’s logical. And the show does a good job of showing us the various little pathetic excuses it tries to hide behind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I thought I couldn't hate this guy more and yet I somehow managed it after writing this lol.)

TOTK THOUGHTS
I'm gonna briefly talk about my thoughts/points if asked I'll elaborate ALSO, it's fine to have your own opinions its good to form opinions based of information you read about. If you have a different opinion that's fine I would love to talk about it. Also remember to be kind it's just a video game, no need for pitch forks we can agree to disagree. ♥︎
I feel like Ganondorf is givin too much credit in TOTK, a lot of people like to say that he was just mindin his own business until one day the evil white (he's not) goat man and his cult of masked individuals came in a ruined everything. Also people say that Rauru forced ALL the races to bow to him, but I'll mainly touch on Gerudo because these people need help😭
I think that's not true in anyway, this man is not a good man, he's not a good person and he's not a good leader. It really makes me angry when Rauru forced the Gerudo to be apart of Hyrule and the Gerudo didn't want that. THIS IS NOT TRUE! In the memory where all the sages and Rauru meet up (Memory 12 "Sages vow") the first line is "King rauru...We just received word that the last free Village in the Gerudo Desert has fallen." -Sage of water. They were free until Ganondorf came along... if he is king of the Gerudo and was a good leader why would they need to be free from him? It's almost like he's a bad ruler.
(quick side note yes ABSOLUTELY they are an oppressed race and that should be a discussion! but they're not just oppressed by the other races their oppressed by their own leader)

Omg hi Ms. Seabury. Whats ur opinion on hambury? 👀
HI!!!!!!!!!! ok gang i apologize in advance but i don’t really fw hambury like . at all..,,,,idk there’s just something about the age gap and the fact that the only time they interacted was when hamilton was around 17/19 and seabury was 45/47 (depending on whether you interpret farmer refuted as taking place during either 1774, which is when it actually happened or 1776 which would follow the chronology of the musical) that just icks me buuuut if they were around the same age i could maybe see them as the same thing i was talking about in my leebury post 😇😇🙏

I want to preface this by saying I’ve never felt grief from a loved one before. This may have a hand in the way I interpreted this chapter and I’m happy to have a conversation about this
So this arc in blue period is about grief right. The centre of this arc is Sanada’s death and how it affected those around her, whether they were friends, family or even those who worked with her. Yatora and Yotasuke, like us, are outsiders to this case and we have to watch their thoughts alongside Momo’s, Hachiro’s and Yakumo’s feelings.
At this current point of the manga (chapter 64). We know the tragic fate of Sanada. Her death was heartbreaking and it shaped the characters like Yakumo to become the person he is in the present. We see that grief manifests in different ways. The two major examples is Sanada’s mother and Yakumo.
Yakumo holds on to every possession that reminds him over her. One of them being her brush. We see it battered and tape holding it together. I like to think that it represents his mental state. He’s constantly happy and covers the cracks with his jokes just like the tape on the handle, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he is grieving the loss of a friend and who he considered a role model.
On the other hand, we have Sanada’s mother who initially did not want to have her daughter’s works to be sold changed her mind as Sanada’s popularity grew. She wanted people to see her works as she saw them which is fine. It is opposite to what Yakumo does despite them both suffering from the same person’s death.
Yakumo saying that Momo’s dad didn’t understand him was not out of malice but Yakumo was grieving in a way unlike what Sanada’s family were doing.
My favourite part is the bit where Yotasuke asks why Yakumo isn’t allow to continue grieving. Yes maybe some people have moved on from her passing. We see one of Sanada’s old classmates who do not share the same sentiment as some of the other characters. But allowing Yakumo the freedom to grieve on his terms is a truly beautiful scene. Grief is different for every individual and Yamaguchi doesn’t aim to put down anyone. She instead gives a more human approach as grief is a complex feeling that should be approached as such.

for the fave character bingo !! opinions on janja? :D
YAY YES OF COURSE
Tumblr media
*cracks knuckles* get ready for Thoughts!
janja was my favourite when i rewatched the show for the first time! i used to watch tlg in my child/teen years and ono was my favourite i think? but janja definitely took the spotlight upon rewatching! he's very firmly in my top 3
he's so dumb. he's such a bastard. but he gets a reformation and that's about the best the show could do for a character arc that wasn't kion tbh. it's obviously a kids show, but still, as a fan critique i think they could have developed it more! but i'm just happy he could be actually reformed at all. good janja at the end of season 3 increased my life expectancy
i have seen and read fanworks where janja dies and i couldn't stand it lmao, so if that doesn't tell you how much i like his character idk what will. *SQUEAK* is a joke i want to express how much of my brain space he takes up, alongside the crocs
1000/10, amazing character

New Life series general spoilers and also a bit of personal taste neg (under a read more just in case u don't wanna see it)
me, yesterday: Yeah last life was probably my least favorite of the 3 seasons. I didn't really like the boogeyman mechanic, I thought it disrupted the players relationships in a relatively unsatisfying way. Similarly the extra lives made the deaths feel less dramatic and less important. Some of the most compelling moments were when people resisted this, Scott taking the life penalty, or Etho refusing to abandon Bdubs when he turned red. Frequently people who were red/boogey and became green again didn't face consequences because they were just following the rules of the system. Bdubs boogey kills Tango and its a VERY funny moment because of how Tango reacts, but its mostly brushed aside by the team as a whole, compared to when Cleo held a grudge against BigB for his boogey kill, leading to the absolutely iconic "do me a favor, die for me". 3rd Life I think also benefited from contrast, everyone was very kind and excited at the beginning before id devolved into chaos and bloodshed, whereas everyone was distrustful from the start in LL. So yeah, I'm glad other people like it but really wasn't my cup of tea like 3rd Life was.
Limited Life (same acronym as LL): Boogeyman is back :] and we did extra rounds of it
me: cool
LL: everyone basically has 24 lives
me: sick.
LL: like 10 deaths already on episode one
me: awesome
