That could've gone as messy as it did, but for the record, it shouldn't of had happened. It's been said to not let those two be in the same environment, or else that would be the result. Right?

Either way, she’s just grateful that they were escorted out of there, back to the museum, but it still worries her. She’s heard from Nadi how they feel about Scotsman, yes, but honestly she didn’t expect them to act on it so suddenly, especially during an event such as this.

Though they did have a point when bringing up his actions as of recent. She couldn’t blame them, they were quite questionable. Questionable in a way where those sort of things happening to an engine such as Scotsman felt nerve wracking. 

And it was also odd on how it even happened in the first place. It wasn’t right, how could the NRM let such a thing happen if it did happen? It felt impossible, honestly, and if it did happen Truro or Coppernob would’ve known about it one way or another. It felt wrong to let it happen, and even the thought of it felt wrong. It felt out of place.

Was it to deceive or was it unfaithful reality? Perhaps she’ll have a chat with Henrique about it. Though for now, her mind was mainly set on Nadi. 

She cursed Scotsman under her breathe as she glanced over to where she saw him and Gordon would speed pass through, her mind drifting off to the memories of the Flying Scotsman in his 2000s overhaul, otherwise known as the Decade Overhaul. A time where most of it went down hill for him and for Nadi.

Recalling how neglectful and suspicious he was, oh that little shit–

“Evening star, what a surprise,” a voice came from behind her, cutting off her train of thought.

“Ah, hello Ms. Lode Star.” Evening Star

“I thought you would’ve accompanied my fellow Great Westerns in the Museum at York, even more seeing as I’ve heard the fifth King’s attitude has not withstood time as much as he’s claimed it to have.”

“Don’t say it like you haven’t started to age a little yourself, Lady Lorraine. I myself have heard what you’ve been up to from those diesels,” she jabs back at her. “But, I’m also getting to that point in age as well. We’re all growing old and the only way to go through it is with acceptance.”

Lorraine would give an acknowledging hum to that as she looks to where Evelyn had, spotting the engine that had just arrived starting to form up a little crowd around them.

She couldn’t see the nameplate as clear as she would’ve liked to, but she could identify that this engine was most likely one of those Southerners, specifically a School class with how the smoke deflectors and running board looked.

It was certainly another surprise considering she was not told that there would be any other Southerners arriving in the exhibition here other than the ones that have already arrived.

Perhaps they were the surprise that was supposed to come later in the day, she’d have to have a word or two with this engine to find out.

But Evening Star on the other hand, she just couldn’t help but let her thoughts about Nadi keep flowing in like a tsunami.

Considering their history and relationship with Scotsman, they would not let it go as easily as most people would think. It concerned her, what if Scotsman says something out of hand like the last time? What if Nadi starts a scrap with him? At least one or two people, both engines and human, will get hurt in the process if ever.

Lorraine looked over to her as she noticed the thoughtful expression on Evelyn’s face and couldn't help but inquire, "You seem deep in thought, dear Evelyn. What's on your mind?"

Evelyn sighed, glancing over at Lorraine. "Just thinking about Scotsman and all the trouble surrounding him lately. It’s been quite the whirlwind, hasn’t it?"

Lorraine nodded sympathetically. "It certainly has. I’ve heard bits and pieces, but it seems the situation is more complicated than some of us had realized."

"Indeed," Evelyn replied. "The tension with Nadi and the sudden actions during the event.. it's all been a bit too much. Scotsman’s behavior has been questionable, and it’s causing a lot of unrest."

Lorraine looked thoughtful for a moment, pushing aside her opinions before fully understanding the situation. "Do you think it is something that can be resolved? Or is it one of those things that will just keep simmering beneath the surface?"

Evelyn took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "I honestly think we need to address it directly. Maybe it’s time we sat down and had a proper discussion, clear the air. Nadi’s been holding onto a lot, and it’s practically eating away at both of them."

"I can understand your concern," Lorraine said thoughtfully. "But perhaps it's an opportunity to address these issues head-on. Sometimes, facing the problem directly can bring about resolution."

Evelyn smiled slightly. "I was thinking the same. But it’s not just about the past grievances. It’s also about setting a tone for how we move forward. Scotsman needs to understand the impact of his actions, and Nadi needs to ."

Lorraine nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a sensible approach. Communication is key in these situations. And you have my support, Evelyn. We’re both in this together, after all. Don't you recall that night?"

"Thank you, Lady Lorraine," Evelyn said after a while, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. (Or footplate-) "It’s good to know we have each other’s backs, especially concerning Nadi unlike most engines. Let's hope we can find a way to give both of them a satisfying conclusion to their long lasting tension."

Lorraine gave an encouraging smile. "We will, Venus. Sometimes, it takes a bit of turbulence to find smooth tracks again. And remember, it’s not just about Scotsman and Nadi. We all need to work together to keep the harmony." Evelyn nodded, appreciating Lorraine’s wisdom. "You're right. It's a collective effort. Maybe we can set up a meeting with everyone involved, create a space where everyone can express their feelings and concerns."

"That sounds like a brilliant idea," Lorraine agreed. "And perhaps we can also include a neutral party, someone who can mediate and ensure the conversation stays productive."

Evelyn’s smile grew. "I think I’m looking at that someone right now, don’t you think?” She remarked, getting a soft chuckle out of Lorraine.

As they shared a moment of mutual understanding, the vibrant atmosphere of the museum seemed to lighten, a small but significant step toward resolving the underlying tensions.

With the Great Western’s support, it lifts her spirit, Lorraine always proves time and time again she’s as loyal as she was when they united as true friends for the first time.

Confession headcannons with Sova and Chamber

i have always been empathetic towards ardent and her money situation, but there are moments when excuses turn into reasons to not do something. on august, i sent alex money because she needed it, but she also said in return she will give me 4 packs she usually gives her clients and she told me she would give me my money back.

first pack is "tell me your story."

second and other packs she hadnt told me what they were but she informed me that i'll be receiving them weekly since august, and now its november.

at first i was empathetic, since i used to be close to ardent, i knew she went through a lot of stuff at home, so i was patient. until august turned into september, and september turned into october and then october turned into novemeber.

and slowly i became annoyed, [as i should] because her services arent even long or good, as someone who gives chart readings to other people that consists more than fourteen pages, the effort to write that would take long, but ardent doesnt even give five pages for her services, three at most, so why is it taking her so long?

previously, she has joked to me about scamming other people, but would put the blame on them and not want to take accountability until they start using threats to expose her, i think she deleted the making fun of scamming them but here is some of it:

i have received 1/4 readings, and that was now almost 2-3 weeks ago, we should've been on my 2nd or 3rd reading by now, the only reason i have received 1 reading is because i did threaten to expose her if she didnt send the money or reading my way, because even i had some issues because living in london has gotten really difficult and i have been trying to support my family as much as i can, but im doing better right now.

its all about the principle. and she has none of that. and even attempted to victimise herself and behave like she was in distress whenever she got called out about her behaviour.

she lost track of time, the time being 3-4 months lol.

and when i was speaking to her she ignored me for a bit again ha, it was almost comedic. for almost two weeks she didnt try and check what i was speaking about.

she has gotten ill, but this was still months after.

and i have remembered, she has used much of her earned money to fund for her nose job but also uni, but during the moments it was best to pay me back was at the job she said paid her well, she informed me that when she gets paid by her job she'll pay me back, and she never did and ended up quitting the job.

[the unfairness i was speaking about is how uni her country dont do student finances, she's from romania, because they do in the uk it was just a surprise].

i asked her recently on how i was supposed to receive a reading but she didnt reply but change her pfp on whatsapp and discord, again.

My FNAF AU has been sorted out. In the sense that the timeline has been re-written enough that I can go back to drawing it..

Now the next comic in the AU is a re-write/re-draw of my old FNAF comic, Moon Malfunction. A few months ago though there were several time sensitive projects that came up and I needed to shelf Moon Malfunction 2.0 until they were done. Well now they're all done.. but Moon Malfunction is gonna take me some time to get around to..

For the past few months I've been in a really bad spot mentally and physically. And taking on my FNAF Recap/Repair project is just not something I feel I have the mental energy to do at the moment.. All it feels like is a one big pile of work. And all I wanna do I just draw what ever comes easily to me and focus on recovering..

Soooo for the time being,, my main FNAF AU might not see any updates for a bit.. Though I haven't forgotten about it and I do want to get back to it at some point soon. This stupid "Your Name" Bucktommy AU won't leave my brain, and while I don't have enough faith in my writing skills to actually write the damn thing (and it would be my first fanfic... ever?? and that's a project that seems a bit too big for me lmao), I DID write down what I'm picturing some of the "rules" Buck and Tommy have for each other while in the other's body. This event is so so so lovely and I really want to join in hehe. I'm not great at expressing my thoughts/feelings and stuff but I really wanna try because I'm really thankful for all of u guys!! :)

When I first posted on this account last summer I honestly expected I'd probably post a few things and dip again because I usually don't get much attention on social media platforms. And also wasn't sure if anyone would really vibe with my approach to characters and stories hahaha 🙈.

But instead people were so nice and I felt so welcomed and like 'oh wow people seem to actually enjoy what I do??' And I had so much fun reading the tags left on reblogs of my art and stuff. And alongside that it has been soooo fun to see everyone elses posts and characters and leaving my thoughts on those as well (and slowly getting less shy about it too 💪). And I even started reading fanfic for the first time in my life hahaha.

I feel like I'm rambling but I just really want to say all this haha, it's been so fun being on here! I love drawing everyone's characters and other requests and will keep doing that (like pleeaase dont be shy, I love drawing everyone's characters) because it's fun and it's also kinda how I say 'thank you' for all being so nice to me!! So yeah thank you all for making me feel so welcome the past months! :)

2023 baybeeeee. havent done an art summary in a while since i basically stopped drawing early 2020 and didn't get back on the horse until mid-2022 (i wonder... what could have caused that!) i dont feel like my art has really changed this year, only in the ways that I draw specific sonic characters (looking through my archive is fun bc i can see the progression of the diseases known as Giving Them Big Eyebrows and Drawing The Monoeye) and--more exciting 4 me--my practice with paneling comics! :)

i think the progression is much more noticeably when you line it up with last year's sonic art... i can see all the Milestones.. more talking abt that under the cut

May: couch gets into sonic. June: Yucky Sonic 1.0. this was also the month when i Heard Of fleetway super. July: couch comes back from brazil, having read stc. this is also when i start dong actual short comics. compare may -> june -> july. (also please forgive whatever tf i was doing with skintones. i needed some practice)

august: merger au takes shape. dog invented. also i just really like that speed racer sonic mspaint picture. its fun :) september: deep in the fleet mines. october: i lose a lot of steam and mostly just doodle. another comic comparison for those three months:

november: frontiers comes out. i go crazy mode and make that sonic + knuckles comic with the pretty backgrounds and LOTS OF TINY TEXT. december: winter break AND im tired. january 2023 i come back insane crazy mode and write some fanfiction?? still havent finished that LOL. made some nice cover art :) february: i shift into knuckles mode fora month. make another comic. this one is much better i think :) november -> february

march: i shift into transfem metal sonic mode. also just stick to a lot of doodling. also write more fanfiction. crazy. april: transitory period as i shift back into stc/exit: sonic mode. may: more fanfiction. more comics. i really like how both of these turned out :) while the last two were definitely taking a lot more notes from stc, i think around here i start paying attention to and trying to learn from more creative panelling from artists i admire. like @/superemeralds THOAM and @/starrjoy's pandora au.

june: i play sa2 and it's good. july: i play unleashed and it is both miserable and good. i get in kind of an artistic frustration zone and wiggle my way out. august: idk i think im just chillin. super react dot jpeg happens. it's not even named that, it's named after the other image on the canvas, which was maria holding baby shadow. more comics.

september: i burn out for a bit. get real tired. eventually get back up and make more comics. the goal here and last month has become "try to make more interesting panel shapes. I've noticed other artists don't just use rectangles--try playing with irregular polygons and see where it gets you." well it gets you mixed results as you learn :) also i think after that pause i accept the monoeye into my life. sigh...

october: oc showdown starts and @/neurotypical-sonic asks me to make some halloweeny art :) feels like i dont do much this month bc i focus on those. november: A LOT OF ART?? INSANE. more oc showdown stuff. i play shadow the hedgehog (2005). it's good and i love it. i draw a ton of shit on one canvas for it. Fucking Dember: i have shifted back into stc/EXIT mode. motivation's a little weird bc work's a little weird. doing commissions also makes it weird. well im having fun and being myself :) a final handful of comics from this month:

It had been 4 days since that date. You were kinda surprised and upset that you hadn't gotten a text or a call from any of the boys. Maybe you should've texted? Well that's what you were doing now.

You only had 2 of their numbers. Felix and Changbins. You decided to text Changbin knowing he'd probably text back sooner or at least you had hoped he would.

'Hey Bin I was wondering if you wouldn't mind making a chat with all of the boys?'

You watch as you look back at your computer screen. You were elbow deep in notes and typing up papers for work. You weren't even at the office though. You had gotten an email from your boss letting you know that the office was still closed and it probably would be for a while longer.

You didn't mind though. You didn't hate the work but you hated the people. They were all stuck up thinking they were too good and talking behind each other's backs. If the money wasn't good you'd probably quit. It was such a toxic working environment.

Your phone lights up.

'Of course I don't mind.' Changbin texts back.

His text brought a smile to your face. Within seconds you get texts from all 8 boys.

A question for UT, UF and US sans and papyri!

What is their reaction to their S/O being a lolita? More so what is their reaction to their S/O being very clear about what they like and dont like (example: "i like pink", "i dont like the sun", "i like cats", "i hate people") its also how they got confessed to, their now S/O straight up saying "i like you" to their face, monotone voice, unreadable expression.

Their voice is very monotone, and their expression is mostly unreadable. They dont like being around people, so they mostly stay by their skele S/O (or their brother if said S/O isnt around) and if they want to get away they stare blankly at them until they get the hint. They also stare just...because. you know how cats sometimes like to watch their favourite person do stuff? They do that, just follow them around and quietly watch them.

They have also once hit someone with their parasol because they were just so done with said person

Well, hello again Anon! (Whichever one you are as I don't have any reccuring Anons yet, that I know of. Unless you want to be the first!) I must apologize for taking a month to answer your ask, but I encountered some writer's block and couldn't seem to write anything for this.

Anyways, I can't say I've ever written about this sort of thing so you're good! I tried to find Artiswitch and I think I did. She's super cute and I can see why you like her. (I'll probably end up watching the whole series now because of how interesting it looks!)

I'm gonna answer this with my versions of the brothers, okay?

Undertale: Classic (Sans) & Vanilla (Papyrus)

Classic

He actually likes how frank you are since it leaves no question about your intentions. He has a hard time trusting people, especially humans, and to have someone so open about their likes and dislikes is refreshing. He's not nearly as open about his feelings but he admires that about you.

He's already crazy good at reading people's emotions and intentions but you are a bit trickier than most. When he first meets you, he is admittedly a little worried but warms up with time. He is quick to pick up when you're uncomfortable or want to get out of a situation, even when he barely knows you. It helps that he's got plenty of experience deciphering Frisk's blank expressions. The staring is a bit awkward though. Does he have something on his face? He soons learns that you just like to watch him but you might need to outright tell him that to reassure his worries.

When you told him that you liked him, he thought you were making some sort of joke. He's tried to make you laugh many, many times but was usually unsuccessful. This isn't really funny though? You might have to try again and be a bit firmer before he realizes that you meant it.

He was concerned when you hit someone with your parasol and moved to see if you needed back up. He wasn't about to get involved if you didn't want help, especially because monsters aren't super well liked by humans, but he's also a good guy. Thankfully, the annoying human decided to leave when they noticed him so he didn't have to do anything else. However, he now knows that there's more to you than what your quiet and well dressed appearance might suggest. He's not too sure what to think about that though.

Vanilla

He's a bit concerned about your straightforward demeanor. You're also so quiet compared to him and at first he may accidentally end up speaking over you. He really doesn't mean to though and feels bad as soon as he realizes. He's a bit slower on the uptake than his brother but that doesn't mean he's completely oblivious. He just gets hyper focused sometimes but he's pretty good at clocking if something is wrong. He may not know immediately what, but he doesn't like it when people are uncomfortable, so he tries to cheer them up if he can.

He's very smart and once he hangs around you for a little while, he starts to figure out what you're thinking without you having to say anything. He's definitely not an expert when it comes to reading human facial expressions or body language, but he learns your subtle tells much faster than you expected. He's also not as creeped out by your staring as some people might be. He understands that not everyone is as talkative as he tends to be and that's alright! He'll talk for the both of you if you want.

He didn't think you were serious at first when you said that you liked him. Of course you liked him, he's the Great Papyrus! Wait, you meant that you liked liked him... Well he certainly wasn't expecting someone as cool as you to be interested in him but he's incredibly flattered.

He was also concerned when you hit someone with your parasol, but not in the way you might expect. That's not the best weapon for defending yourself, don't you know? Still, he was concerned and checked to make sure both you and the weirdo were alright. After he realized why you resorted to hitting them, he made sure they left the area and checked on you afterwards. Your form was actually pretty good though! Maybe you'd like meeting his friend Undyne...?

Underfell: Crimson (Sans) & Scar (Papyrus)

Crimson

He appreciates how clear you are about what you like and dislike. He's not one to dance around things and hates it when others string him along. Your quiet demeanor is a bit scary but in a hot kind of way. He has a hard time figuring out what's going on in your head since you don't emote a whole lot. Still, if you do something to catch his attention, he might be interested in getting to know you better.

He's not used to hanging around someone who doesn't get upset easily so for a while he's basically walking on eggshells around you. Your quietness is rather adorable though and he quickly finds himself growing soft. His ability to figure out what you want is correct maybe sixty percent of the time since while he's not awful at reading body language, his talents mostly apply to monsters. The staring is a bit weird at first, but when he realizes that it's because you enjoy looking at him? Well, he's gonna put a bit more effort into his looks from now on...

Wait, you like him?! You're kidding, right? He's shocked to say the least. He was certainly thinking about you but he hadn't worked himself up to actually ask you out yet. You are aware that he's not exactly a gentleman right? You're pretty cute though so he's willing to see where this goes.

Unfortunately, he didn't notice you at first. You're a lot different from the people he usually hangs around with and is interested in. That is, until you absolutely beam some pathetic loser over the head with your parasol. That was unexpected and he couldn't help but chuckle a little. He was content to sit back and watch but when the loser started getting more aggressive, he decided to step in. At least he only had to give them a look before they ran off.

Scar

He can't stand nonsense so he also likes that you make your likes and dislikes very clear. He's not a very quiet person so he'll inevitably talk over you. If you're upset by this, he'll apologize and try to make an effort not to in the future. He doesn't trust very easily though so it might be a while before he feels comfortable around you.

He's also not used to hanging around people that don't flip out at the drop of a hat. He doesn't know what to do with himself? He really admires your sense of style though. He puts effort into his appearance but not nearly to the extent that you do, not that he would wear the majority of what you do as he generally prefers leather over lace. While he's not great at deciphering your expressions, he certainly tries his best and that should count for something.

Of course you like him! He's the Great and Terrible Papyrus. Everyone admires his strength and skill, so why shouldn't you? He may talk big game but he's desperately trying to hide how flustered your confession made him. You'll have to be very clear about your intentions if you actually want to date him, but when you are official, he'll treat you like an absolute queen.

He picked you out of the crowd immediately because you were dressed completely different from everyone else. He was in the middle of trying to figure out if you'd made your outfit yourself or bought it from somewhere, when you were accosted by a creepy human. If he had eyebrows, they'd have flown off his skull when you smacked them with your parasol. He didn't approach you right away but he did move closer to make sure the creep wouldn't try it again. Maybe later he'll acknowledge how impressive that attack was.

Underswap: Dell (Sans) & Saffron (Papyrus)

Dell

While he likes that you're clear with your likes and dislikes, he's a little concerned about you. Still, maybe you just need a friend? He has a lot more energy than you do so he may overwhelm you at first, but he's always considerate of your comfort. He can't really help it, especially since he thinks you're so cool.

He's great at drawing the best out of people and you're no exception. He'll figure out the best way to make you laugh and time spent with him is possibly some of the best fun you've had in ages. Sure, he thinks you're a bit strange but you're not that different from a lot of people he knows. Maybe among humans you stand out but among monsters you fit in rather well in his opinion. Your quietness and habit of staring are just endearing features in his eyes.

Why wouldn't you like him? He's the Magnificent Sans and he's friends with everyone! Well, he tries to be but not everyone can keep up with his exuberance. Still, he's very touched by your confession, even more so, when he realizes that you don't necessarily just like him as a friend.

He was on his way to compliment your sense of style when you smacked a random person with your parasol. He was concerned at first until he realized the human had been harrassing you. He stepped in to back you up and together you sent them packing. Man, he thinks you're so cool after that display! He's shocked you don't have any martial training and immediately offers to teach you what he knows in case this happens again.

Saffron

There are very few people, especially humans, that he can trust. He appreciates that you cleared up any of his doubts from the get go since not everyone is as straightforward as you. He has a bad tendency to hide his true intentions from everyone, including his brother, but he's at least aware that it makes him a hypocrite. Maybe you'll help him open up a bit more.

He's naturally observant and can usually guess what someone's thinking just by looking at them. You're harder than most but he soon adapts to your mannerisms once he gets to know you. He's good friends with Chara and your quietness is similar enough that he soon learns your subtle hints that you're uncomfortable and want to leave a situation. He is a bit unnerved by your staring though. He's very much aware that he isn't a looker and it's hard for him to believe that you just like looking at him rather than being rude.

Oh you're funny. There's no way you actually like him... You'll probably have to insist that you like him a couple times before he believes you. He has admittedly been crushing on you for a while, so once he gets over his insecurities, you'll likely have a very sweet relationship.

He'd been observing you for a while before witnessing you whack some poor fool with your parasol. He nearly had to pick up his jaw from the floor as he hadn't been expecting someone as quiet as you to be as feisty. This is definitely when he first developed a crush but it took him a while before he actually tried to act on it. You've definitely caught his interest and later on, he'll go check on you to make sure you're alright. It's definitely not just an excuse to go talk to you...

for around 11 months it was pure bliss...the two of them everywhere and anywhere. onlookers looked on with smiles and hushed whispers about how 'in love' they were. the two of them moved quickly in their relationship, but nobody found anything weird with it based on how their friends watched them and how they spoke about one another in the media when asked. trevor loved bringing home flowers whenever he came back from a roadie, or just because he felt like it. he showered her with gifts from the get-go as her own life was beginning to fill with riches, as her music career took off.

but once the 1 year mark was coming closer and closer, she began to feel a sense of dread. a sense of anxiety and fear, she hadn't had before. whenever she heard his name in passing or whenever somebody asked her about him, she'd freeze and stutter; not sure what to exactly say. or what was weirder, was that she spent more and more time at her apartment in la and not at his newport house...claiming that the record label was hounding her for an album and she was working day and night, like a dog. she did whatever she could in order to not think about him may it be hanging with friends, driving up and down the coast to san diego to visit family and taking spur of the moment trips with her friends. and when people asked her what was wrong or what she was thinking about, she'd always say 'work' and every white lie that came with that topic.

but when she see's trevor sporadically, she understands why she fell in love with him in the first place. he's charming, relentlessly nerdy, incredibly kind and respectful; all of which she adores. and while basking in that feeling for a bit of time, she feels guilty about how her feelings change when she's not with him. she then chalks it up to work, and how much pressure the label is giving her. so maybe just maybe, she'll stick it out with trevor.

she goes to all of these lengths just to keep her heart from collapsing and her conscious from crumbling above her, and yet she knows right from wrong. she know's that the one that would be hurt the most is him.

around a year and five months, she stopped writing. she stopped playing her guitar until the early morning hours. she stopped recording, citing that she was dealing with some personal issue. once the acknowledgment of 'oh shit, i need to break things off- soon' hit her mind one day during a writing session, she knew she couldn't write or sing until she did just that. and so she made her way down the coast to newport to do just that, but when she walked inside she saw a doe-eyed and blissful trevor in her midst. she crumbled right then and there, allowing him to make their way to the bedroom. she laid in his arms, not being able to fall asleep once again; and reminding herself that she loved trevor .. or at least needed to remind herself more. was it though? at least on her part?

he was a better person than she was, she thought. he would have ended things a long time ago if he'd felt what she'd felt or thought. he wouldn't have continued to string her along. he was a good person like that. but her? she was half the person he was, he was a good person with good intentions. the culprit?

she didn't want to be alone.

the life was draining from her and her friends watched as it did. she was hiding herself away in her los angeles apartment, shortly after she stopped writing. they were all rightfully concerned with her mental health and wouldn't take the 'im fine's!" she hurled at them time and time again. they even reached out to trevor and even he could not get her to come out of her shell. though, he never got the full story of why she was like that. he dropped around unannounced before and after practice, sometimes staying the night but most times slipping out after she'd fallen asleep. but not without a soft kiss to her temple, and tiptoeing out. his family and friends grew concerned when he opted to stay in newport for the offseason. by the offseason, she'd gone back into the studio and pushed through. the studio eating up whatever she had written, and loved it all.

with no end in sight, she continued to push through with the relationship, trying to get back to how things were before when she was without a doubt, happy and in love. when trevor does finally leave the sunshine state to go visit family and friends, she stays up thinking about her and trevor's future. would she find anybody better than him? would she find the love that they shared early in their relationship? would she find somebody almost as arrogantly confident? somebody with an infinite passion for what they do? their (affectionately) dumb friends who adored her? and somebody with a zest for life? her journals filled to the brim that summer with what had been eating her up inside.

when trevor comes back right before the season begins, he take's her out to malibu one early morning before the sunrise. she was groggy and tired from the night before, and so when she was awoken abruptly she groaned; trying to desperately to go back to bed. trevor said that he wanted to go for a sunrise and she hummed, thinking he'd go by himself. but instead, he tickled her enough to wake her up and she dreaded getting out of bed. they drove up to malibu that September 2nd, and held one another as he wrapped his arms around her from behind. he bit the inside of his cheek, body filled with nerves and anxiety. he whispered her name to begin with, and in the most trevor and most un trevor way, he proposed. she turned around to see him with tears in his eyes and visible anxiety washed over his features. she smiled softly feeling the inside of her scream to say no and beg her to leave the life she grown used to the past mere months. her smile grew wider and faker, as she said yes. trevor had gotten her dream ring from new york, and she gushed as he pulled it out. tears swelled her eyes as she felt her heart tug at the effort he'd made for her. she was going to show him the same effort as well, even if it hurt her to no end.

her record label demanded an ep of some new songs they knew she undoubtedly had written after she got engaged. her album release was a massive success, going #1 and platinum in many countries. her career was reaching new heights and she was engaged? she was the it girl everybody wanted to be. yet she felt so very far from it, but kept that signature smile on at all times.

she felt herself buy into the idea of marrying trevor when she saw how excited her family was when they showed up to a private dinner the very evening of her album released. they gushed and gushed over the ring and endless possibilities her and trevor could have together. she saw how good both of their families bonded and got along with one another. she could feel the pride and gratitude that oozed off of trevor that night. he loved - no absolutely adored this life the universe had bespoked upon him. the singer was just another addition. he thought he had everything before they met, but when he saw her get absolutely hammered at a party they were both invited to; he was enamored. the grace she carried herself with when dancing, talking, singing and most importantly; the love she oozed for her friends was intoxicating. he could not and never wanted to get enough of it.

the look he gave her that night was one she'd never, ever forget in this lifetime. it was how all girls wished to be looked at. the one that would spare nothing to make their partner happy. the one where you know they'd go to the ends of the earth for you and with you. it was as if she hung the moon and the stars for him.

who would pass that up?

she brought into the idea of going through with the wedding after the release party and found herself immersed in wedding planning. she found herself non stop traveling with trevor that summer, after a serious playoff run. she found herself thinking of their future together because lets be honest, it was there. and she couldn't help but get excited just a bit when trevor had said, that she was going to be most beautiful bride and future mom to ever grace this planet. she looked at him through the mirror and again that look, captivated and brought her in.

their wedding was a dream. an absolute dream. hollywood and hockey royalty showed up and showed out. the wedding of all weddings. they danced the night away to taylor swift. then as a surprise, trevor and his groomesman shamelessly, did a group dance to one of her upbeat songs as she sat there blushing like a fool, covering her face in embarrassment. they spent the night basking in everybody's presence, the singer not having a second to spare a second thought about what was going to be coming in the next few months. she knew that the world and everybody in their lives would be asking about kids and what not. yet, she pushed that towards the back of her mind. she played the role of a loving and adoring newlywed. she smiled to the camera's as if there was no tomorrow. her friends actually believing that she was happy and that she had found her way back to trevor. and in a way, that was true. she felt stuck with no way out.

the couple retreated back to the ritz carlton new york hotel suite, with a bottle of very expensive champagne, thin slice pizza and new york cheesecake. after stuffing their faces in between making out, the two fell asleep. or at least trevor did. the singer looked up at the ceiling, wide awake and unable to sleep. she had played the part this long...what was another ten?

NWWD: Editing Update

Time for the Main Edit! 0 of 37 chapters done lol

i'm hoping to get this edit done in a month, no idea how realistic that'll wind up being but i gotta start with a goal. if you want some more detail on my personal editing process see below

also includes the reader name reveal, because i don't think i've shared that anywhere yet

my editing process, when i hav the time and i'm not rushing to post, is that i print out the chapters--in a different colored ink and in a different font--and hand write my edits with a red pen. then i type the edits up after.

there are a couple reasons for this but the main one is that i think i pick up and notice errors/places i want to revise etc when i see it on paper more than on a screen. this is something i noticed on my own but also something i've seen echoed elsewhere. the different font/color i definitely saw online first, put in to practice, and at least placebo-ed my way into think it helps me edit better too. the idea is that it makes things different but not too different and so u can pick up on stuff better. all of the fonts are still readable, but just not like times new roman/arial/calibri etc

obviously this takes a lot longer than just editing on the computer, but i think its worth it. also, i still do some longer revisions on the computer - i have a bad habit of just lik underlining or highlighting or just putting a star next to a paragraph i dont like as shorthand to myself for like "reword" "awkward phrasing" "confusing" etc and then 'typing up the edits' me is like shit, now i gotta actually come up with how to fix it lol so the typing up often takes the longer of the two.

if i'm really taking my time (in terms of like prewriting a lot before posting anything for a story/fic), i'll do this chapter by chapter, hard copy and typing all of one before the next. sometimes i'll do a bunch at once, especially if i'm also trying to fix overarching things. i think i did all of DSM hard copy and then typed it all? but i can't really remember. i've split NWWD into 5 mini-arcs and i'll probably do all the hard copy edits on the chapters in that arc and then type all of them up, etc. that way i can also send multiple completed chapters to my beta reader(s) at once and i can make sure that i can tackle some of the exposition structuring things i want to fix more cohesively across chapters (or so i hope).
