The 40 lives with the Neanderthal tribe (The 40 x Ice Age)

So...it's finally here!

The 40 have met the Neanderthal tribe and live amongst them for a whole week.

Thanks to the "all speak" gift bestowed upon them by the Entity, they can understand what language the Neanderthals communicate in.

In that short time, they taught the tribe many things and befriended the leader and his family. The 40 show them how to toil the land, grow edible plants and grains, and fish in the streams. The female members of The 40 would teach the concept and importance of matrilineality (which Nadia greatly appreciated despite already being treated well in the tribe due to being the "wife" of their leader) and that any female they sire or take in their tribe would be treated and taught to also carry out the duties of the male hunters. Most importantly, they would teach the tribe how to greatly respect the animals they hunt and kill for food by making it mandatory that all the remains of the animals that are unedible will be given a burial of sorts.

In the miscellaneous times, Levi would often converse with Runar, Senku working on pottery to make cups and containers for food and water, the woman and girls (aside from Emma) politely rejecting the "proposals" of the male hunters, Killua conversing with Nadia as they work on weaving baskets and making rope, and Emma playing with the infant Roshan by making a flower crown.

However, the vengeful Soto and his pack of Sabertooth tigers are undaunted by these "strange humans and the walking wolf". The plan to attack the tribe will continue, but they have to re-evaluate their initial plan due to seeing the obvious danger of just rushing in at night.

Wow, this is really interesting early concept art of Manfred/Manny along with Nadia and Roshan! I don't think I've ever seen this concept art before and it's very intriguing becos Nadia looks like she survived the fall here - or there never was a fall/jump from a waterfall in this earliest of concepts - and Roshan is crying as Manny looks on at them compassionately.

Welp back to my Ice Age art I go- so here's Diego and his girlfriend Alex. If anyone asks no, I don't like any Ice Age media after the first three movies, so that means I'm also disregarding Diego's canon love interest Shira in my AU

Anyway rather than how Shira's character is a boring rehash of Diego's arc from the first movie, my OC Alex IS a long-lost member of Diego's old pack (she escaped + survived being hunted when Roshan's dad killed most of the old pack) who holds a grudge against him for betraying Soto. But hey, love works in mysterious ways as over time they'd slowly end up reconciling and growing feelings for each other.

Camila was born to a maid who couldn’t take care of her. With the financial state the woman was in, she wound up giving the baby up for adoption. Whose hands did Camila wind up in? Oh, just an oil tycoon and his wife who couldn’t have a baby of their own. Being raised with a silver spoon in her mouth made her life more difficult. Someone always wanted something from her, and soon Mila realized that people will only ever see her as a dollar sign. She burned bridges at any point someone showed their true intentions with her, and she justified it by believing it was to protect herself from more hurt than she was already enduring behind the scenes. Being adopted made her a target in her cousins’ eyes; Always ganging up on her at family functions and claiming she wasn’t really a Singh. She was alienated - cast aside by her so-called aunts and uncles. Maybe that’s why it didn’t hurt to be going to so many funerals, growing up. It was on her father’s side of the family - the side she was never to come into contact with due to the drug and alcohol abuse that ran rampant in those genes. She became cold during her middle school years, though it wasn’t like she really had anyone to be cold to, seeing that she was homeschooled. It was when she had to attend high societal events, that she was seen as a sort of ice queen. She was withdrawn, and that came across as snobbish. In actuality, she didn’t care. Mostly because that meant she didn’t have to hear what people wanted from her. For someone who was homeschooled, she excelled in the SATs and ACTs. She turned down Harvard to go to Princeton for their Art & Design program. To Mila, the creative freedom of fashion design was enough to heal her inner child. She could be whoever she wanted, make a name for herself and inspire other children who found a sanctum doing what they loved. With her BA in Art & Design, Mila was able to become a fashion intern at one of her favorite fashion magazines. Mila is strong in many ways than one. She works out, sure, but she can endure the emotional pain the size of an elephant in her chest. She's guarded and it takes a bit to get her walls to come down to build a friendship, but when it occurs she's one of the best people to have a friendship with; A hype-woman in her own right, Mila is always one to celebrate others and she has a way of perfectly embedding herself under anyone's skin and staying there. So, if Ice Age 6 is happening. I could have ideas of who will animate it: Reel FX (they were involved in "Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas") or Annapurna Animation (who created "Nimona" (which was intended to be made by Blue Sky Studios :( ) & Chris Wedge (the face of Blue Sky Studios) now works there - allegedly, Scrat will return alongside his son, Baby Scrat).

A great idea of a storyline is to have characters having their own children (Peaches/Julian)/(Diego/Shira)/(Brooke/Sid) (which we should all bring back. An anticipated storyline we would like is to bring back baby Roshan all grown up - maybe he will have started a family too.

The Sherlock wanted to be a theatre major, but sometimes, what you want isn't what you need.

They were the first person in their family to go to college. While they had a passion for theatre, they knew their full ride only applied to certain majors. Criminal Justice seemed interesting enough, and for an eighteen year old just starting out in the world, that was enough motivation to declare their major.

Some people would have went straight to the police academy, but the Sherlock wanted to work undercover. It wasn't their childhood Hollywood dream, but there was a bit of acting involved in detective work. Unfortunately, one case got a little too real and ended in the death of their partner and the death of their career with the city.

They went private after taking a year off. The thing about going private is the Sherlock decides what cases they take. Their most recent one came from the likes Hector Santiago's eldest brother. The disappearance of this client's niece was their motive for hiring the Sherlock.

Usually, the Sherlock would avoid family matters, but looking into Alicia Santiago and Paxton, Arizona there seems to be more to this case. An added concern is that of the unsolved disappearance of one Raina Hall. Both women fell under Obsidian's umbrella, with Alicia Santiago being the daughter of the current CEO, Hector Santiago. It's all a little too coincidental and the Sherlock is determined ... two birds with one stone and all that, right?

𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓 𝐀𝐑𝐂

The Sherlock knows in their gut that there's something wrong with Obsidian Holdings and Hector Santiago. After all, Hector didn't hire the Sherlock to look into their daughter's case. Instead, one of Hector's brothers is footing this bill. It's suspicious and what's equally suspicious is Raina Hall's cold case. The Sherlock is sure there's a connection -- no matter how small it may be -- and they intend to find that link. Now that there have been remains found at the site of Oceanview Apartments, they're certain they're on the right path. If they manage to blow the lid off Alicia and Raina's cases, expose Obsidian Holdings, and free Paxton from the opportunistic hold the company has over the town -- well, that's just icing on the cake. It'd also look great for their firm's reputation.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒

The Sanctuary — They know everything, they would bet. A therapist, please. The Sherlock wants to continue to crack open the Sanctuary and know what they know. There’s missing women at stake, after all.

Grayson Hall – They might be here to figure out what happened to Alicia Santiago, but the Sherlock feels there are too many similarities between Raina and Alicia’s disappearances. Arguably, they think Raina’s disappearance is the cause of a twisted butterfly effect. Any PI knows that they have to question loved ones of the missing – even if they have been cleared by the police.

The Replacement – The Sherlock wonders why Hector’s brother hired them and not Hector – after Alicia is Hector’s daughter. They have a feeling the Replacement can offer some insight into the greater dynamic between father and child.

Look how the focus, even from the concept art, shows Manny and Roshan mourning over Diego and not a shred of Sid in sight (You can see Sid in this concept art but he is out of focus compared to Manny and Roshan and barely in the image; the only thing visible of Sid is his eyes, which are hidden from us.), because, well... he didn't do it for Sid so much as he did it for Manny and the baby. Their Pinky.

It looks like Diego's foreleg is covering Roshan too as though he's trying to comfort the baby even as he lays dying. ;_;
