okay controversial take or smtg because i havent seen people interpret it like i did

in the letter lestat left for louis (s2e2), he says like dont hunt the person who killed me bla bla bla, but also "let treatchery eat away at them from within"

and considering lestat knew about their plan to murder him, i think it would definitely be plausible for that to be like a wish for suffering?

im so confused about the letter because if it's genuine and a love letter without lestat knowing louis was gonna kill him, then it's a beautiful love declaration

BUT since he knew, i feel he may have written it as a revenge plan? because the whole "very thin vail and im always on the other side" can very much read like a threat in a different context

if you guys have any thoughts to share id appreciate im confused by the whole situation especially since i havent seen people talk about it like that, also i might post smtg more intelligently written about this later we'll see

obvs they want to skip past it for their love story but louis and armand shut him down so quickly when daniel needled them about the lack of racism in france……

since louis isnt personally experiencing it, combined with only socializing with vampires… maybe he just isnt as empathetic as he likes to think he is. which is interesting considering his human life & family’s history
