A thing I think about a lot is that the reason Buddie is such a slowburn is because both of them are the dumbest smart guys you’ll ever met. Seriously, not a single braincell shared in the negative personal space between them. If one of them was just a little bit smarter about relationships, we would’ve gotten Buddie canon by the end of season 4 and it STILL would’ve been a slowburn but nope. They’re silly, they’re stupid, they drive the other characters and the fans absolutely nuts with their ridiculous married behavior without actually being married. I used to worry about whether Buddie would actually go canon, but if there’s one thing that this silly show has said about Buck and Eddie, it’s that they’ll do cartwheels around each other to avoid the fact that they’re in love, and they don’t even know it. They’re the dumbest people you’ll ever meet emotionally, but that is why we love and ship them so much. It wouldn’t be as much fun if they weren’t a lil oblivious to their own BIG feelings for their best friend
