Respectfully, anyone who believes that Roxas shouldn't have come back in kh3 is wrong and also doesn't know how to make a satisfying end to a characters narrative.

I could maybe forgive thinking Naminé or Xion shouldn't have returned, as they at least got to make the informed decision to return to their counterparts themselves. It would still be wrong but I can at least forgive it.

But Roxas? His entire story is about being allowed to be yourself regardless of what anyone else around you says you should be. It doesn't/shouldn't matter if he comes from Sora, because he is someone else entirely. It's his life, not Sora or anyone elses. Having a story like that end with him being violently forced to return to Sora when he doesn't even know anything about what's going on is flat out bad writing.

Did he accept that he had to die for Sora? Well, sure, but only after getting to beat him within an inch of his life. Only reason he accepts it is because he literally has no other choice but to. He can't keep clinging to the anger and misery at his circumstances forever.

And, you know, it probably helps that the person this was all for also fucking hates it. In no way is Sora happy about what happened to Roxas. Of course he'd bring him back, it's Sora. The situation is so unfair and tragic that having it end with him just staying in Sora forever would literally go against the essence of the entire series.

Kingdom Hearts is, at it's core, a series about bonds. Roxas was established basically immediately as having very important bonds! His best friend literally died for him! He has friends that don't even know it because it was another version of them, but they still feel that bond to him anyway! You really think they should've just thrown away a character whose bonds transcended the boundaries between data and reality just like that? Get real.

Cass knocked on the door of Jason's apartment. Stephanie held a worn leather wallet in a plastic sandwich bag.

Stephanie: This has got to be the 15th time he's left his wallet at one of our places.

Cass: It happens to all of us.

Stephanie: He's done it three times this week.

Cass shrugs.

Cass: He has been distracted lately.

Stephanie (rolling her eyes): All I'm saying is he needs to get an air tag that goes off if he forgets it.

Stephanie knocks on the door aggressively.

Jason: I told you Jehovah witnesses to stop visiting-

Jason opens the door, wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist, seeing it was his sisters and not the Jehovah witnesses.

Jason: Oh hey guys.

Cass: Hi Jason.

Stephanie (covers her eyes): Jesus dude, put on a robe or something!

Jason: I have on a towel.

Stephanie: Get a longer one. Here you left your wallet at my place again. Take it.

Stephanie: Yeah, suggestion-

Cass jabs Stephanie in the hip with her elbow.

Cass points behind Jason as a woman walks out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body and drying her hair with another one. Jason follows their sight and quickly shuts the door.

Stephanie (stammering): I- Wa- The- We saw the same thing right?

Cass nods then pulls out a key to unlock the door.

Stephanie: You had a key to his apartment?

Cass (unlocking the door): He gave me one to feed his cat Austen.

She opens the unlocked door and finds Rose and Jason together, wearing nothing but towels.

Cass: Rose?

Stephanie (surprised): Rose and Jason?!

Jason: Um... We can explain.

Rose: He let me use his shower and then he took a shower.

Jason: That's all.

Stephanie: You guys are bad liars which is saying a lot.

Cass: Um, we will come back when you two are clothed and discuss all of this.

Stephanie (chuckling): Oh yeah we will.

Stephanie and Cass leave with Cass closing the door. They both laugh while running off. Rose sighs. Jason bangs his head on the wall.

Rose: So Raven, Barbara, Stephanie and Cass have to keep this from Dick. Fuck!

hey i work at [unspecified plastic building object] land and here are some ninjago statistics i’ve collected from actual children who watch the show in present day from the past few weeks:

“who’s your favourite ninja?”- 95% of the time it’s lloyd. any other time its jay. one time it was nya, another time it was kai. the children do not yearn for glacier.

2. there is a sculpture of nya in ninjago the ride queue that always generates a conversation. however, this sculpture is based off season 5 nya with short hair and her reddish blue gi. the most shocking thing to me… KIDS DONT RECOGNISE HER. i’ve overheard so many “who’s that?” followed by “i don’t know”s and it’s actually whiplash. why are we old

3. a lot of young girls like ninjago! this is really awesome actually because i remember being a little kid and being one of the only girls in my class at the time who liked it and it was heavily marketed as a “boys toy” so it’s nice to see that they are making ninjago for everyone . . . because it is. like everyone can enjoy these little ninja people

4. the ninjago is still IN. i actually before i started working here was worrying ninjago was falling off and the newer generations wouldn’t really care about it but u guys the children DO still yearn for ninjas and it’s very clear. which was a pleasant surprise :3 it’s truly becoming a generational thing as silly as that sounds

i can’t make these into a whole bullet point, but here is some assorted other stuff that i find funny:

kids actually just wear the ninjago pyjamas to the park like as clothes like straight up

the fang blades, jade blades and nya’s sword pack (which btw what even is that she does not use dual swords) fly off the shelves and i truly wonder why because these kids weren’t even around circa tournament of elements era. perhaps they just like throwing swords around

sometimes they dress up in ninja clothes and i always compliment their outfit and show off my keychain (luckily i had a lloyd one on me one day when a kid was dressed as him) and kids LIGHT UP when they know i know what i’m talking about. it’s one of the best parts of my day actually

I'd be remiss not to point out that "Orym's lying to himself about revenge" basically rests on an argument from ignorance—people who make this argument are acting like it's true because it hasn't been proven false, both because this is an ongoing story and things change and because no one here is actually a mind-reader who can falsify it once and for all. It's a logical fallacy, to be clear.

But it's also just another example of which statements the fandom will cherrypick and parade around (Laura thinks the glasses are cute! Matt liked my tweet about Imogen!) and which ones get conveniently ignored. Liam has now said both in and out of character—more than once—that Orym's not out for revenge; he's trying to honor the memory of his lost loved ones; and that the Ruby Vanguard's goals will never be worth the slaughter they're inflicting. If that's not factoring into the discussion, then the discussion simply is not worth anyone's time.
