they're NOT killing the eggs you guys don't worry this makes a lot of sense as a strategic threat to keep these three too scared to resist or do anything to fight the federation. Roier and Slime both lost their eggs so they technically have less to lose, and Roier is connected to Cellbit as well. Tubbo's been trying to fight the federation since he got there and they're clearly very annoyed at him SPECIALLY I think part of the key is also what some meta has talked about recently about the new islanders vs the old ones where the old islanders will just be like 'we already tried that there's no point to any of that' and have gotten used to the kidnappings and such, and tubbo's still like THIS IS FUCKED WAKE UP WE HAVE TO DO STUFF and I think they hate that and want to crush that. To put these three through this achieves two awful things at once: it makes Slime and Roier relive what happened to Bobby & Juana Flipa and it makes the three of them fear that it's happening again. ALSO it could seed mistrust if they tell people about this because anyone who wasn't in the room may blame Tubbo for it

Liza: She trained regularly against the branded in crystal desert as a cub so when she got to being the commander she was already really good at fighting.

Skorch: He's not the best at fighting so he makes gizmos and other engineering things to fight for him. He was 'trained' with his flame legion warband but that was mostly just them bullying him.

17. Do they have any fears or traumas tied to their own weapons/magic? (ie: sharp weapons user afraid cutting themselves, elementalist afraid of fire/deep water, necromancer afraid of death, etc)

Liza: After she was trapped in the mists for years she hates anyone that uses mist magic. including aetherblades, revenants, and the human gods. that includes rytlock she has a level of distrust for him after that.

Skorch: Flame legion magic. hands down. he doesn't use it himself but he can barely hold a fight against a flame legion shaman without breaking down. he grew up with the flame legion after all. and they hurt him.

23. What utility skills do they tend to use? Is there any they can't use for lore reasons?

Liza: Her main utility skill is Jaunt, good ol' mirage shadowstep. she tries to scare canach by teleporting behind him with no warning.

Skorch: turrets. he never figured out how turrets worked. every time he tried they exploded in his face.

(continues to be insane) I can’t get over the fact that Spite asks for help.

Spite is often treated childishly by several characters—Taash, for example, and even Lucanis depending on your dialogue choices—but I actually…don’t think Spite is all that childish. He’s been put into a situation he’s never experienced before, in a place where reality doesn’t work like it should, and been put through torture that he feels doubly through Lucanis on top of it all. Any person would through a “tantrum” under these circumstances. Spite’s behavior is reasonable.

He never tries to hurt Lucanis’s companions, not once. He only ever tries to leave, as Lucanis promised him he would be able to. Even Lucanis, he only hurts once outside of the Ossuary, when he must have felt unbelievably confused. Calivan is dead and Lucanis has gone home, has allies, and yet to Spite, he simply refuses to leave the Ossuary. And still, he asks. He could wrestle control from Lucanis, but instead he asks (or demands) to talk to Rook. And all he wants to say is that he wants to be free.

All and all, Lucanis does not reach out to anyone to ask for help with his depression or PSTD. Spite is his problem, he says, and says often. His burden. He never intended to let anyone in, even though he admits that he doesn’t know how to start healing. He asks for Rook’s help against Zara, against Illario, but no one is privy to his mental and emotional struggles.

Spite, on the other hand, asks immediately. Or he wants to ask. And finally, when Lucanis is in the middle of a spiral, it's Spite that says "Help us." Not demanding, just asking. Pleading. And still only to Rook. While I think at first, Spite wants Rook specifically because he knows Lucanis will listen, I think that has grown into something more by the time Inner Demons comes around.

"Help us," he says. Not just 'make him listen' or 'help Lucanis'. Us.

This is all to say I think that while Spite may not understand or feel romance (yet) he most certainly feels love. He loves Lucanis, whose image he takes ("They wouldn't dare, Lucanis is mine.") and he loves Rook ("Rook is my favorite." "Smells like...Rook." "Help us." The WINGS.) And that's all trust is, isn't it? A kind of love? Showing vulnerability to someone close to you?

When Spite is finally allowed to communicate, he shows plenty of maturity. He gives Lucanis space, he asks Emmrich to teach him fire, he's willing to try new things, and he loves.

Determination is a kind of love too, when you think about it.

Y'know, thinking about it now. There's a lot of inconsistencies in the story. You said, you didn't know about it right? You didn't know it would be our house you'd be coming to and you didn't know it would be inupi you'd be seeing.

You wouldn't have done ...anything if you had, even if inupi had taken out debts and owed bonten money, you'd have found a way to deal with that. But inupi had a wife, a stable job and friends, why would he ever need to get into debt especially when it could put us in danger? He'd left all that behind long time ago.

toji is so grounding. he's able to make your worries disappear without ever even doing anything (he doesn't know he can do this btw). like yeah he makes his jokes and his fuckass old man comments and he is still bad with feelings but the second he sees you drawing back into yourself for whatever reason, he's quick to just.. poke at you. he'll knock his knee against yours ever so gently, trying to get you to look at him. and when you don't, when you avoid his gaze, he turns into a very docile creature. his voice gets lower, his eyes way softer as he nuzzles into you. he knows his words won't be any good, he's not good at using them, so physical touch has to do.

pulling you into his chest or kneeling down beside you when you're laid down on the bed and tracing your features with his calloused fingers, there are many ways to do it. he just wants to make it go away. make whataver is bothering you just fuck off. he wants to protect you from the world and keep you safe from your own brain and so, nothing is too much. for a man so unfamiliar with tender touches, he's surprisingly gentle. his hands are rough but never with you.

he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, he swipes his thumb over the sensitive skin below your eye. he presses a kiss, a small peck to your forehead. is this the same man who tripped you a few hours ago? is this the man who teased you for spilling water on yourself? is he really the one that groans and sighs and rolls his eyes whenever you serenade him with a silly song?

he does trip you and he does tease you and he does act like your antics aren't the most endearing thing in the world, but he also feels sick to his stomach at the sight of your teary eyes. he needs you to feel better, he needs you to smile again. you're the one who keeps him afloat and he refuses to let you sink an inch. down on his knees, he devotes himself to you in all of his might. he nudges his nose against yours as a silent promise before enveloping your body under his. he'll kiss you better, he'll hold you better. anything and everything – he's all yours.
