Young Justice's Luck Strikes Again

Batman sighs deeply and rubs a temple.

It was meant to be a simple space mission, nothing to big. Just a quick check and report back.

Only problem is the ones he would normally assign this to are all dealing with other things so he had to ask... Someone else...

Like...

The ones that were once Young Justice.

Look, they were the only only ones with a spaceship (How? He still had no idea, Tim keeps saying 'What happens in YJ, stays in YJ') that could go far out without problems, and even though he knew putting the old YJ team together might be a bad idea, he trusted them especially Red Robin to be just a bit more professional at least. Since they were no longer teens but young adults now.

And again it was meant to just be a quick mission.

Nothing big.

So...

So why was Young Justice currently wrangling two floating black haired toddlers, one with blue eyes while the other one had red, and a black haired baby.

Turns out they found these children floating in space on their way back from their mission, cryo sleeping in a ice block huddled and cuddled together around a well loved teddybear with a teal headband on its head.

Or they were sleeping in cryo sleep until Superboy brought the ice block in and the thing melted allowing the children to wake up.

Batman could feel a headache coming on when he noticed just how... attached Young Justice was becoming to the children as well and knew it would be a miracle if he could get them to separate from the children.

and at the end of the day, people will still hate women.

because beyonce is a terrible songwriter who has a good body and nothing more and she's really nothing compared to olivia rodrigo, that stuck-up bitch who steals other people's music, but taylor swift is an old, bitter nothing who clearly hates other girls. and sabrina carpenter deserves to die because she followed her heart, not her brain, and that's exactly why zendaya will never be good enough for tom holland. don't forget about kylie jenner, who's stealing precious timothee's innocence away and dating her is like committing arthouse cinema suicide, or how we said the same thing about miley cyrus and her disgusting profanity, think of the children, poor liam hemsworth, trapped in a marriage with such a horrible woman. lana del rey was hot until she was big and she made trailerpark sexy until her ass got a little too fat. and ariana grande, talentless homewrecker, and selena gomez, jealous and unreasonable, and hailey bieber, even more boring than the blood drying on the knives you are so quick to pull. sophie turner is a bad mom and megan thee stallion deserved whatever was coming to her.

and amidst all of this, we still don't know these women. we cannot fathom the pain of having a public divorce, one where people choose sides and hurl insults at you until the battery on their phone dies. we don't watch them chase after sweet-cheeked children in tucked-away backyards or play board games with their best friends while their chests heave in laughter. we don't know their marriages and we don't know their solitudes. we don't watch them unravel themselves, time and time again, preparing for the battle that we have made of their lives. they can never make a mistake. they can never cry. they can never be who they believe themselves to be.

and we take all of this and we go to work, we ride the bus, we go grocery shopping, we walk in dappled sunlight, and we let ourselves shrivel. i compare myself to every body i see and i comfort in the fact that i can still encircle my wrists with my fingers. food turns to dust in my mouth when i think about the fact that taylor swift thinks she's fat and people still hate sabrina carpenter for sticking by joshua bassett's side when he almost died, for God's sake, and now the people on my twitter feed are saying GUTS is the worst album they've ever heard. i liked it, the tiny voice in my head cries out. she wrote songs that made me feel noticed. they're calling the song i relate to the most a total skip.

so i close the app. i try not to think about the endless profiles screaming about how much they hate a nineteen/thirty-two/thirty-eight/twenty-three/twenty-six/forty-two year old. i try not to think about how much they would hate me, if they knew anything at all.

decided it was about time i draw these babies since i plan to incorporate them into more of my daily art, so now they have designs ! :D

& here's some individual drawings i did of each sibling:

MAAAANNN were these guys a pain in the ass to design. there's literally ZERO information on any of their appearances aside from black hair and cat-like features from all of them. actually such a struggle ... BUT I MANAGED (as i always do mwahahhh)

these designs might still not fully be set just because they were made in a moment of me being frustrated with art, but either way i still love them dearly and i should be using them in later drawings if i do keep them !

angela my sweet sweet self proclaimed daughter ... tim shepard the devilish boy ... and then FUCKING CURLY. i hate curly (jokingly, still a bit I'm keeping with myself) — they were all so delightful to imagine despite going purely OFF imagination.

I'd show the concept drawings i made the other day whilst working on these designs but unfortunately they just look so disproportionate it would not be appealing to the eye 💀 like i said, i did indeed struggle making these designs ...

anywho ; i didn't have as much to say on this as i thought i would , but !!! maybe expect a curly and tim cameo on the @sodapopcurtis-dx-asks blog at some point in the future ?!! ( big maybe. still would have to figure out how to incorporate them there 💀 curly usually just shows up with pb... tim on the other hand... hhhuuuummmmmmm... )

speaking of soda's blog I'll be running over there for the afternoon to pile up some drafts to shoot out later , so chew on these while i disappear !!! :D

Anyway not sure how I'm gonna draw old Emma-May yet so I left that out but besides that, I wanted to draw my take on the timeline of these guys. They fascinate me as well as make me incredibly emotional

Some general notes and headcanons if anyone is interested:

Fiddleford is transfem and goes by any pronouns

Tate's hat is the only thing he has to remember Fiddleford by except for a few photos and faded memories

The hat he wears currently is not the same hat he had when he was a kid but rather a look alike. He still has that hat somewhere in his closet it's just too small to wear anymore

As a kid, Tate would always wear that hat but in his teen years he had something of a "rebellious" phase where he stopped wearing it due to resenting Fiddleford for leaving him and Emma-May. You can hardly call it a rebellious phase considering it was just him being 20 minutes late past curfew and taking the occasional swig of alcohol. He was a sweet kid

Emma-May had gotten pregnant with Tate late into college which added pressure on Fiddleford and her to get married. That and both coming from Christian families and just being young and wild

Fiddleford had gotten her peace symbol tattoo in college

Marine biology has always been Tate's main special interest but he sacrificed his future in the field to look after Fiddleford

I'm realizing most of these are about Tate but that's because one, I really like him he's like a son I conceived myself, and two because I'm planning on writing some stuff about Fiddleford and Stan's relationship after her whole Society of the Blind Eye stuff and some more stuff about Fiddleford Emma and Ford in college, etc
