I just watched I Saw The Tv Glow and I’ve never had an experience like this before???

Within the last little bit, while he’s narrating and cleaning up the cinemas, it kind of hit me. Like the gender metaphor. And I got a little bit emotional, then about three seconds later I started violently sobbing and I’m not sure why specifically. I’m not sure what part of it got me, I didn’t even relate to the specific story? My gender has never felt hidden from me, it’s always felt very clear, at least since I realized I’m not a girl. It was never super confusing. What especially got me was the “there is still time” but that confused me more. I started transitioning at age 11, I’ve never felt like I was late to anything or like I didn’t have time. But at the same time I’ve never felt anything encapsulate me more? I don’t know what’s happening because I feel like this movie understands me in a way no other piece of media, or even person, has ever shown, but none of the experiences in the movie are anything close to what I’ve been through

It was shockingly similar to when Maddy started crying while watching The Pink Opaque. She could tie it to her own life, sure, but the actual things happening were nothing close to what she’d ever experienced. She’s never had to… beat up a clown because there was a big bad moon man?? I mean well I guess she did because she was in the show but- you get what I mean. It’s a different situation that still somehow encapsulates exactly how you feel and what you’ve been through

…look hey, that’s terrible and extremely unfortunate but.. I don’t know if I can handle hearing things like this. I get you guys are going through hard times and want someone to talk to about it, I’m unfortunately not that person. I care, but that’s a topic you should genuinely talk to about friends and other family. I’m a complete stranger to you guys on a personal level, it’s a little different if we were friends (it certainly doesn’t help using the anon button but I completely understand why you would). I’m not good with consoling people I don’t actually know, I don’t know you and how you express yourself and you barely know me outside of my work.

I want to help but I literally can’t outside of telling you what you’re experiencing is horrible and that I wish you well… I mean I appreciate you think I’m someone you want to share your traumatic experiences with but I don’t have the mentality to handle your trauma with you from the stand point of two complete strangers. I’m mostly on tumblr to post my art and tell stories, I don’t like having a heartache over the tolls of life and what they do to you.. you should seriously talk to your family about this and not some dumbass on tumblr who shitposts about characters she likes.
