LOST: Season One

#lost #abc lost #lost one cap per ep #this was a project i was gonna do anyways but the timing worked out that i could post the first one on the 20th anniversary!#this is one cap per ep every season. from left to right. and this is important: its not a cap that sums up each ep #its a cap that REPRESENTS each ep. the way i choose them varies every episode #sometimes its an utterly iconic moment. sometimes it reps the theme of the ep. or it hits with a theme of the character themselves #sometimes the cap i use won't even involve the character whose centric episode it is. trust me. this makes sense #anyways i'll give a good example: for outlaws i was so tempted to use a shot of the judgemental soulful gaze of the boar #or perhaps sawyer in the rain after he shot that man #but! i used that shot of sawyer's dads legs as sawyer is hiding under the bed. i feel it worthy because this moment. this scene #is literally a core part of sawyer. it's a defining moment of his backstory. of his character. so yeah. makes sense yeah?#anyways some eps had Too Much going on (lord i could make one of these for exodus part 1 alone) and some not enough #or well they DID but like lacked in caps that Hit in the way im thinking. thank heavens charlie shot ethan cuz i was worried about that ep #i was like ''aw shit what am i gonna use'' and then an iconic lost moment happened kjhfdsjkhfd #anyways. there are 25 eps in season one. so im really glad that the last ep contains one of the moment iconic visuals/moments in all of los #oh i should add that these caps are unedited. i did not fuck with the colours or saturation in any way #i found 'em and i pieced them together. this is harder than it sounds. i browsed through all the screencaps of every ep of season one #and i will do so the remaining five seasons #some of these were super easy like i knew what cap i'd be using before i even started (eg. do no harm. the moth. in translation)#but some took some real Thinking. and some eps even had several caps that would have worked. this has all been quite interesting #also yeah. y'all already know damn well what cap i'm using for the very last episode

boxing arc of LCLA goes crazy tbh we've got qiao ling busting the boys' time shenanigans (and her not believing at first until they prove it via HER being involved in said time shenanigans); we've got cheng xiaoshi's parasocial relationship w his idol shuang hai (man is obsessed); he's shaking crying downing drinks w shuang hai cos said boxing CHAKPION has no one to confide in except two twenty something year olds who did some sleuthing for him; cheng xiaoshi's all like "im your BIGGEST fan why are u being such a LOSER right now 🥲" and lu guang is sitting there quietly except for when scolding cxs for drinking too much too fast 😭😭😭 i love this show

Understand each other #they're building towards the dynamic i feel they have in the donghua (< personal hc) and its low-key v heartwarming to see #I'd love to read fics (or write!!) w lcla canon in mind cos there's some good stuff here !#it will never be the insane Peak that is the donghua but i love the direction they've taken it in #it feels both separate to the donghua (able to stand on its own) and complimentary #lord im sorry for rambling in the tags sm im just so obsessed w link click in all its forms #and this will happen again 😞

throughout the series of drake and josh it pretty consistently implies that josh nichols is a christian (josh peck is jewish) and in the finale of the series helen (played by yvette nicole brown, not jewish[?]) is portrayed as a practicing jew

#i dont have a problem w either of those things necessarily i just find it interesting #if i had to guess. drake and josh was a mainstream that didnt wanna touch on religion generally #but josh was kind of a dork and usually when josh's religious beliefs are implied it is in dorkish ways #such as praying and thanking the lord after he has his first kiss.#but since dan schneider is jewish perhaps he wanted to make helen have a jewish wedding in the finale?#not that there needs to be a reason. but u do notice occasional jewish-related jokes in d&j but none of them are what you could call #offensive. in good faith that is. 'eric is a pacifist' 'i thought he was jewish?' like come on #text post #i have been rewatching drake and josh recently and i have had so many thoughts #im almost done. i just have left that stupid dance episode that they premiered last for the stupid reason #of a special dance-themed premiere night in fall 2007. they premiered the third episode of icarly and a new zoey 101 on the same night #which i think is so stupid. they should've aired really big shrimp last. it messed w my understanding of the series at the time lol #i remember not really knowing that the show was ENDING. like i knew icarly was starting & miranda was doing that #i thought really big shrimp was like just another special like go hollywood.#and then like two days later they premiered the helicopter episode for some reason #and i was like why is drake not famous in this. he just had a number 1 song in a superbowl commercial #and then a month later the dance one. which. if anything is satisfying about that as a final episode it's just that #that unnamed girl from the blues brothers episode who is obsessed w drake shows up again and congratulates them #and the very final line of the series is 'who is she?' because. because really who IS she?#that's a funny enough throwback to wrap things up with i suppose #drake and josh wasn't a highly serialized show so i can see how they could air those after the intended finale and act like it didn't matte #but i have to tell you it did fuck with my brain a bit at the time. lol. i still think of those episodes as having 'happened' after #and on paramount plus those episodes are still placed after really big shrimp. the injustice #but thats kinda messy. what a weird way to end such an influential and popular sitcom #season 4 had a few lowpoints while still also having some VERY solid episodes.#idk. ill have to continue my series review another time im getting way too longwinded here #helen dubois is jewish

i dont think any other show has had an impact on me as huge as awae. that show consumed my entire life for months and months when i was 15 and nothing has changed its so so dear to me

#ive been rewatching it for the past little bit and omg.#im remembering why i went insane when i heard that the show was canceled for s4. i literally follow amybeth on insta and i see ppl in her #comments begging all the time for season 4 and im not saying thats not annoying and inappropriate but GODDDD. SO TRUE SO TRUEEEEE.#we were ROBBED!!!!!!!#i remember the billboard they put up to try and renew the show and i think it was just an issue with the dude who played gilbert. which in #hindsight yeah that makes sense i remember feeling rly bad for him back in the day #but good lord awae season 4 would have been crazy. obviously i was extremely mentally ill at the time of s3's release so thats why i was so #obsessed HOWEVER watching it now its still deserving of my obsesion. so good #i keep editing these tags but awae was the hugest hyperfixation ive had in all my time of existing. like ive been rly into other sorts of #media ie demon slayer and homestuck but im telling yall for about 10 weeks (awae was releasing one episode per week when they aired s3)#there was not a waking moment where i wasnt thinking about that show. and every sunday i would go into the canadian website using a vpn and #watch that show after i was done with my hw. it was like church for crazy people (me)#ok final edit but i think i filter myself a lot on here in comparison to before cuz i used to overshare wayy too much on tumblr #but this is the realest ive been in a hot minute

I have absolutely nothing new that I haven’t said before to say about the fire scene in the beach just that it GETS me everytime like what an absolutely flawless scene in television we learn so much about each of our villains in such a short amount of time without it ever feeling rushed because the episode is perfectly written & paced

okay ik that they needed to do like character redemption on gus by making him go from "power >>>>>> friendship" to "okay actually friendship is power or something" and ik gus isnt a good person, however did they have to make nv episode 39 so brutal. christ alive that episode fucks me up every time i watch it.

#i rewatch episode 39 a lot and like #its one of my absolute favourite episodes #and it does a very good job of showing that gus has a heart #and how evil zenoheld is #and like idk is rlly good w like. gus' running theme of loyalty by showing how his bakugan are loyal to him too #and that he doesn't only care abt spectra (altho thats rlly obvs if u pay attention like at all throughout nv)#but good lord jesus christ having two of his bakugan die in front of him?? one of which he's had from the beginning of the season????#VULCAN PROTECTING GUS DESPITE HIS ARMOUR BREAKING AND CRACKING?????#hexados taking a hit for vulcan even tho he wasnt even out on the field??? that especially fucks me up tbh #episode 39 also known as gus learning that other ppl are loyal to him as well but only finds out by them dying for him #AND DESPITE EVERYTHING BOTH HE AND VULCAN GOES THROUGH IN EPISODE 39 #THEY STILL REFUSE TO BE DEFEATED RIGHT AS THEY STARE DEATH IN THE FACE #i mean they dont die in the end but god bless we all thought they did #anyway im insane about gus grav and vulcan hghgjhdkfienf #time to go watch this fucking episode again

sorry to every star trek fan on earth that whenever i even think about the star trek reboot movies i will inevitably go on a 20 minute long rant about white khan

#i havent even watched that much star trek yet. im very familiar with khan in the original tho because my dads a trekkie LOL #(i should watch some more tho. i know i'd enjoy it a lot)#but like ive seen one or two episodes of tos and like 3/4s of a movie. ive seen some tng episodes. i thought the first reboot movie was fun #but that second reboot movie..........................................................why is he white #LIKE OKAY the original actor wasnt indian either but its the 60s-70s and i'll accept a somewhat ambiguous hispanic actor #(plus the character is genetically engineered so weren't they going for a bit of ambiguity in general?)#(the politics of that are extremely complicated and it would take several essays to explore but again i'll accept the good intentions)#(especially from a show from the 60s)#but in the year of our lord 2013. white khan. and not just ANY white khan. benedict cumberbacth #THE WHITEST MAN. THE WHITEST MAN POSSIBLE. #fave spotting #alexandra bastedo #sharron macready #the champions #the saint #the counterfeit countess #philip madoc #chouchou #itc #1967 #this is a year before Alexandra found ITC immortality as Sharron in The Champions #she'd made a brief appearance before in 3.22 (follow the fave spotting tag for more) but her part is more substantial here and gets her #the coveted guest star credit (shared with Kate O'Mara). that being said‚ her time onscreen is relatively brief; she's important to the #plot but unexpectedly departs the episode halfway through (in a good way; she doesn't get murdered or anything)#actually Chouchou probably rivals her for screentime... and for my affections....#lord knows im a sucker for cats but this acting cat is a spectacular one. quite content to sit and be scritched by Philip Madoc #or to be hoisted up and talked at by Roger Moore‚ or even to do stunts (does jumping from a window ledge to the floor count as a stunt?)#i may be biased but Chouchou stole my heart and in turn the episode. ily Chouchou! i wish you were a returning character!
