i think the reason why the link click live action is hitting so hard for me is because it feels EXACTLY like a censored BL drama.

like idk man, we're getting all those pet names and cute tropey shiguang moments... it can all be explained through the plot (like lu guang being insanely overprotective), but can it really???

my first thoughts on the link click live action drama (minor spoilers)

stalker lu guang being canon is just so funny to me help

also pls they way he started listing out cxs' personal details of that magnitude to HIS FACE like what???

honestly i would've punched him and then called up the police if i were cxs in that moment

also, i've seen a lot of ppl calling live action lu guang rude/snobby to cxs, but like...i've always seen lu guang as the person to act stoic to people he doesn't know, and eventually warms up to them later on when he gets to know them better. so i think that he just acts like that just bc he doesnt rly know cxs yet. or maybe that's just me?

and i wonder who LG's Teacher was. and like how they died too...

off-topic but lg's introduction scene was so funny to me like bro was just standing there like 🧍‍♂️

and cxs being shorter than lg is just so WRONG imo

and, to compare donghua cxs to live action cxs, donghua cxs is more like the type who acts silly, yes, but it's more like he knows when he can act silly, and when to act serious. you know? but in the live action, it's more that cxs is... Just silly. Or maybe that's just me?

BUT! I love how qiao ling still has her pink bunny phone case! i loved that detail sm!

and i loved how accurate the set for the photo studio was, the design for it is really good, like the whole place feels like it belongs to a messy teenage boy. i also loved how they added small things here and there to give it the lived-in feel.

and i liked the scene in ep 3 where LG was eating with ql's parents, and how taken aback he kinda looked when her parents were like "we are a family now, just treat this place as your home from now on" like ahh my BABYYY

also the basketball scene in ep 3 where cxs scooted closer to lg with lg scooting away from him, that felt pretty accurate to donghua-them imo!

i'm slightly annoyed with the black hair for LG but honestly, it's been growing on me actually!

anyways, donghua cxs and live action cxs are kind of...very different. i am intrigued to see how the rest of the live action will play out. so far i have very mixed feelings (most of the first episode was a mess imo), but it's not the worst live action adaptation i've seen. like it's not exactly the same as the donghua, but it's still not, like, horrendous, you know? Like it's honestly kind of decent and it seems to have potential, so we'll see how the rest goes.

Are you watching Link Click? Liu Chang turns up in Ep 5 and 6 (that all that's currently on yt) as a slightly off, possibly nefarious intentioned shrink. I think the motorcycle is his. I need more people to rant crazily about this.

Sadly I am also limited by the free episodes on YT but I'm really loving it so far. And yeah, Liu Chang's character is SUUUUPER shady and I don't trust him at all, but damn does he look good in those suits. And with that hair. And the glasses. He's giving mad "Undercover Wang Can" vibes (if you are at all familiar with the DMBJ universe and/or Sand Sea), and if the motorcycle is indeed his (which I agree with you that it is) I might actually fling myself into the sun if they ever show him riding it. Or mounting it. Or even just sitting on it in one of those suits. Because my brain might not be able to take that kind of aesthetic perfection.

But overall, I'm also really impressed by the actors who aren't Jiang Long being so perfectly able to sell the idea that Jiang Long is in control of them. I absolutely believe that all of these people are suddenly possessed by a man with the personality of an excitable chihuahua. The boxer especially, like damn, that guy can pull off a total 180 in his expressions and mannerisms. 10/10 no notes.

Long story short it's an excellent show so far and everyone else should watch it too.

la!cxs telling lu guang that his 'rules' (past or future mantra) never existed to begin with, demeaning himself saying that lu guang only ever wanted an obedient thing to do his bidding and put cxs through all these missions to manipulate him into being pliant, nothing more than a means to an end rather than a friend.....wow.

it's fascinating because in the donghua lu guang does have this selfish quality (as well as being a massive hypocrite), only it manifests in his breaking of the rules for cheng xiaoshi's sake. in the live action lu guang still lacks the inability to Let It Go, but here we see the effects of his reckless tunnel vision and contradictory convictions on the person he's come to care for, 'his only friend,' and it's heartbreaking to watch.

it truly does feel like we're watching shiguang's growing pains, before they settle into their relationship, before lu guang is so fiercely devoted to cxs that he'll sacrifice anything to save him.
