#bandit's doodles#grian#mumbo jumbo#waffle duo#not much to say about the doodle so I’m jumping straight to the bandit review™#The 2 brushes it had were silly#The basic pen one and the ugly marker one#I liked it for a second then I opened my eyes and realized no it's actually not good#it looks like a dying dry erase marker#And idk about you but dying dry erase markers don't have the most appealing texture to me#it was good for drawing a little messed up grian though so that's fun#moving on from the atrocious marker#It had more than 3 colors so that was nice#but still pre saved colors grind my gears a little bit#I didn't really play with other features#but from what I saw they were pretty normal#Just text#Shapes#That stuff#but the eraser isn't really an eraser#its more like just a white brush#So when you select an area you erased over#It will move the part you used the eraser on#If that makes any sense#Honestly 7/10 aside from the dirt brush and eraser it was pretty fine#ALSOi just heard grian mentioned in mumbos newest video#any scrap of waffle duo is enough for me#im grateful#im fed#And I'm happy

i keep thinking about that one discussion i had with some friends over the fact that professor layton could very well be a secretive low-magic setting . like if the azran did exist and got destroyed, there was still the planet and the biology that was left behind. Which very quickly goes into alternative biology, which then leaves room to believe that some of the unintentionally superhuman feats in the professor layton universe are related to that in some way. its nothing obvious like Superman or Spiderman levels, but it's in the small things that are just seen as normal
I would've chalked it up to just cartoonish physics if not for Luke being able to talk to animals and that being inheritable via genetics, because like. Come on.

getting into ben 10 is so sad bc I binge the entire OS and am like wow cant wait for more and then every other series doesnt have the things I liked about OS and even casual fans online say that 10yo Ben's character in OS is more compelling than all the others but theres barely any of him after OS
#how did that episode in ultimate alien when it brought back 10yo ben make him 10 times more compelling#but only his 10yo self and not his current self in the show#but fr it was so sad learning that they immediately jumped straight to a 5 year timeskip after OS#plus artstule change plus recast plus major personality shift plus redesign#like looking at alien force ben next to OS ben idk who the hell that is bc thats not ben#its fine like im chill with just being neutral/uninterested in the later series and just sticking with OS#thats the power of fandom#i dislike his omniverse characterization but that doesnt mean i dont love rook#and i wont stick him into OS as a self indulgent au#theres also multiple things i like about the later series for sure tho like#1 rook like i just said but also#ben and gwens relationship. i love that they didnt play around with them in AF#and doom dimension likeee#i dont like how theyre written in AF and UA but that stuff is bomb#i think it all boils down to me wishing the show didnt feel split up in eras with different versions of the characters#and it was more linear#like instead of instant 5 year timeskip it was like. now ben and gwen are 11 or 12. maybe even 13#it shows more development that isnt just a huge jump from 0 to 100#ben getting more mature is the natural progression of his character but also#its the fact that they gave him major development in OS then changed everybody so jarringly they didnt even feel like the same characters#like theres a reason OS ben is the most compelling#it should have been more linear close together and less broken up in my opinion#pandas.txt#they just made ben look so normal and boring in most of the clips ive seen in the later series#plus not even feeling like the same guy#maybe ill try and watch the reboot#it rlly is chill tho bc im fine with just liking OS its a great show#anything i wanted to see i can just think of in my head myself and now i have a bunch of stuff to play around with#once i get more into it#bc this show is so fun and great and i love it i rlly do wanna stick with it

fanfic readers/writers, i have an important question
Is it considered weird/cringey if writers mention real-life brands in their fics? especially if the source material used a fake name to represent the brand?
for example, a tv show called am in-universe soda brand "choco cola", but a fanfic about the tv show calls the SAME DRINK that the characters called choco cola now "coca cola".
(inspired by me reading a persona 5 fanfic where the gang calls it "disneyland" instead of the in-universe name of "destinyland" and it weirded me out a lil. i wanna see if others have the same problem)

#my art#realism#self portrait#assignment#illustration#this one is about 16 inches tall#i had like. a faint gesture outline done this morning and that was all i had for the past several weeks#and then i just jumped in today and got it all done in about an hour#idk. i feel like ive been pretty caught up on my schoolwork not looking like how my classmates does#and i kept trying to imitate them— the stuff that the teachers were all giving accolades to#and ive realised that its kind of dumb to compare myself (comicmaker and cartoonist) to them (sculptors and painters)#so im just doing shit my own way. and ngl the teacher seems to like that more as well
