Cherik fic idea in the style of "the professor' husband" aka the students being amazed by Charles and love doing the missions and stuff and he helps them and all. He also talks fondly of his husband whenever they ask if he's single and goes on how amazing his husband is and all of that. They don't know it's Erik. The mansion is too large and Erik doesn't come around the student quarters.

Shenanigans happen when some students spot a strange guy lurking in a second kitchen or seeing Magneto walking out of Charles' bedroom and the students think he's been kidnapped.

tbh i think i just find it more interesting to appreciate dean how he is and have zero interest in proving his general goodness. like maybe if i Didnt find that specific type of character so compelling id be more invested in mischaracterisation (though id like to think not <3).

but a lot of hellers/extreme deangirls dont approach spn like a horror show with the thesis 'family is hell' (which is what it initally Is) they approach it like a fantasy-comedy-action show with a funny bisexual mc and his gay angel bf. either because they're not interested or because theyre uncomfortable with the actual show thats there. which is their prerogative! like sure i guess. you do you.

but its interesting bc it means we have 2 fanbases which are rabidly different to each other and get completely different things out of the show and yet keep brushing up against each other. we parcel it into 'samgirl' and 'deangirl' but that makes it sound like its literally just Fans Of The Character when tons of samgirls (myself included <3) love dean. the real dean that is. (also even samgirl fandom is ripe w misinterpretation but all fandoms have that at least theyre kind-of misinterpreting the same show as me. deangirl fandom is something entirely different.)

Literally crying (the good kind) after watching that trailer for like the fifth time today and I'm just so overwhelmed because this show Middle Earth and everyone in it is so important to me and these trailers have been so epic and beautiful full of emotion and light and dark and everything I love from Tolkien and LOTR films (since the trilogy was how I first got into Middle Earth) and I never thought I'd see something that would compare to LOTR Trilogy but The Rings of Power truly does. I care so much about these characters just like I do Frodo and Sam and Aragorn and Eowyn etc.

And it also makes me emotional hearing Bears beautiful rousing score once again he is gonna knock it out of the park. Im crying at Celebrimbor at Elronds desperate fight to save the world and people he loves at Galadriel and the huge weight she carries. I am so invested in them all.

It looks phenomenal from the music and costumes to the dialogue and set pieces this world is real they have made magic and it deserves so much appreciation so much love because I can see that it is made with heart and soul and is a story for all time, one that I am so grateful to hold so close.

I mean yeah lmao pm all of the Jedi/clone commander ships have this power imbalance. The post was about how fan bases act lol. rex/Walker fandom ime at least is much more willing to admit and confront the imbalance (tho keep in mind that doesnt mean they do it WELL) esp compared to Cody/wan fandom. It's always been one of my biggest beefs with cw fandom, that they handwave away the power imbalance, the age difference, etc. while at the same time being really judgy about many of the "problematic" ships and characters. The fact that they act like it's canon and everyone ships it or should ship it just elevates that frustration.
