See whats funny is i see people harping about how DirkJake is "bad" and it sucks because it's.. messy. Its not exactly healthy either. But that's what's so fun about it!! Seeing representation of relationships in a way that strikes true with how most relationships are kinda janked to begin with!! Give me not perfect relationship representation give me mess, I will enjoy it fullheartedly. Its so much more interesting to pick apart and unpack than normal healthy relationships! There is so many ways dirkjake can go and honestly it's fascinating!!

Also not to mention the "fucked up red string of fate" thing they have going for each other. That's so nuts. They're like soulmates, but it doesn't mean they're necessarily compatible, doesn't mean they're necessarily going to get along, just that they're basically stuck together like some horrid prank.

Not to mention the very fact that Jakes planet has the word soul, depicted as x or chi from platos timaeus LITERALLY CARVED INTO HIS PLANET.

I cannot express how absolutely NUTS it makes me. Hey what if we both had planets. And mine had a reference to you carved into it. What if even in trying to escape you when i was in peril i believed in you so much, i actualised a version of you i keep in my head to fight for me. What if our planets collided into each other. i am addicted to ponytown. every day when i get home from school i sleep, eat, and then play ponytown into the next day. i started three days ago and i have three ponies and three friends. i met a mischa baskinsky pony while playing as a jane doe pony. my life is complete. the ponytown map is so large and there is so much to do. i go around booping people and giving the shopkeepers flowers and have the time of my life. ive only had one bad experience and that was booping mabel and dipper cosplayers that asked me why i was talking to them. other than that my life on ponytown has been dandy. i joined a baguette eating train with over thirty people in it and met a new friend and joined her discord server. i drew my jane doe pony. did you know ponytown has a mine with crystals and abandoned mine carts with tracks? they also have a restaurant, a bakery with seating, and many shops and markets where you can pick up stuff for free. today was my new favorite day because i met mischa and another pony who booped me multiple times, gave me a rose, gave me a smooch, and then friended me. i have faith in humanity because of ponytown. everyone go play ponytown. i love ponytown. im just kidding guys i can quit any day

sure. technically she could leave it all behind. Jump to any which universe, make any such life for herself with whoever she wanted. to take the arachnid-shaped titanium device in her hand and make like kierkegaard and leap into a perfect reality. most, probably would. and technically she still could.

she could leap into a world where all her wrongs were righted. she could turn back the clock to a time when peter was alive and harvey was still around. back to a time when the most perilous challenge they faced was making an acrobatic skill check in their d&d campaign. no masks, no codenames, no running. she could be gwen stacy again.

but she couldn’t && wouldn't. it would be simulacrum. those lives weren’t hers to live, not her choices to make - not her worlds. she wouldn’t paste images of other gwen’s lives over the scars of her own. all her suffering & struggle had amounted to something - worked towards some goal. though ambiguous ( lofty ideals such as duty, justice, and simply doing the right thing ). she couldn’t just walk away from it all. not when she was needed, not when she was relied upon. not after all she had done, all she had caused. no more running, no more masks. it was time for gwen stacy to live, for once. and live with all that life includes - suffering & bliss.
