Revisiting what I've been calling the Those Left Alive AU, where the winners of the life series are cursed creatures and pets still alive by the end of the season are humans. Here we have Tilly and Froggie as humans and Pearl as a wolf!

I have been writing a little bit for these three, though anything can change as new life seasons come out hehe

hello, and welcome to my perfectly sane, not at all delusional, totally plausible theory that chris is gonna be in danger this season <3

i was spiraling over this with @tawaifeddiediaz​, but the more i thought about it, the more and more it made sense, so i just have to inflict this on all of you. please read it and then tell me how either correct or delusional you think i’m being <33

all the references to the tsunami this season is the driving force behind this theory. since s3, the tsunami has been referenced very briefly, without any real meaning or depth—first in season 4, when eddie jokes about the mudslide not being a tsunami; and then in season 5, when buck gets a tsunami alert on his phone because of the stuff with the hackers and the blackout.

but season 6? season 6 has had two major references that dealt with the tsunami and its fallout. there have also been a couple of other ominous hints and allusions that make me believe that something major is in store for chris. first, this:

i know in the context of this season, eddie is (obviously) talking about chris’ new-found independence and his own inability to adjust to it. but the emphasis on protection in this scene always felt a little off to me, and i swear, i will either laugh or cry so hard if mr diaz jinxed himself and his son, yet again.

the most obvious example of foreshadowing is this:

this is the first time since season 3 where the magnitude of the tsunami is addressed and talked about in a meaningful manner, and at the same beach where it happened, no less. and if that weren’t enough, it’s followed by this:

this lingering shot on chris is so incredibly ominous, and i don’t think i have to explain it. this is what actually first made me think that something is gonna happen to chris, and everything that’s happened in 6b since is making me more and more convinced of that.

in buck’s coma dream, of course, you have this:

followed by buck’s flashbacks of the events of the tsunami. so now, we have not only eddie talking about what happened, you have buck’s subconscious bringing it up, his very second memory that got triggered in the coma (after eddie was his first).

and of course, we have this scene:

and the fact that buck has to force himself to leave him behind, well...i know we all interpreted this as buck’s subconscious seeking eddie out, but what if it’s foreshadowing for the inverse of the tsunami happening—eddie and chris in danger somewhere, with buck not knowing what’s happened to them? (sorry, i’m going straight into delusion town here)

(also note that chris at buck’s bedside tells him that he’s gonna be okay, a direct replica of his words from right before the tsunami, so...do with that what you will.)

the next example isn’t overtly obvious, but i definitely found it suspicious that they made a point of ravi’s rescue before he quit active duty being at a pier—and revolving around a father and his kids, at that.

and this wasn’t the same pier, i don’t think, BUT, i actually did a search through my master doc of the transcripts for the episodes, and this is the first time the word ‘pier’ has come up in a non-tsunami context. and again, the overarching theme of parenthood. so, do with this what you will.

we also have the recurring theme of water, around buck and eddie and chris that has been especially highlighted this season. so when you bring that into the context of all the tsunami references. well.

coming back to the theme of parenthood, and specifically buck as a parent. 6x01 started out with the buckley-diaz family clearly being comfortable and established. chris was the one to bring up buck’s lack of a couch (oh, and also...kristen saying in that interview that the couch is gonna be in danger? guys?) oh, and i’m still suspicious about this:

this is yet another moment that feels incredibly Pointed, plus the recurring theme of time in eddie’s entire arc...sure is something.

also this is gonna make me sound so so delusional 😂 but this:

as contrasted with this:

uh yeah...this is definitely making me feel some sort of way. either chris is gonna be in serious danger, or he and eddie are gonna be in serious danger, so whatever it is...we need to prepare ourselves.

one of my other contentions is that we’ve seen buck and chris go through mortal peril, and then a kind of emotional peril, when eddie got shot and his life was hanging in the balance. so it might be about time that eddie and chris experience something of that magnitude.
