“Hey! Get a load of this loser!” A boy said as he pushed another against the wall. A pink-haired foxian—Jiaoqiu. Jiaoqiu’s ears stayed down as he shuddered fearfully.

“L-leave me alone!” He pleaded shakily, which fell on deaf ears. “Hah~? But I haven’t even started yet you pathetic fox” the bully harshly tugged on his ears as three others laughed behind him and Jiaoqiu yelped in pain, tears forming as they usually do. “S-STOP!! PLEASE IT HURTS!!”

Once again, no one heard his pleas. He was left alone to cry as his four tormentors laughed at him. “Come on! Do something about it you useless loser~! I thought foxian’s were meant to be smart! But you’re just a pathetic freak!”

Then, a boy seemingly appearing out of nowhere, jumped up and slammed his feet against the back of two laughing bullies. “H-HUH!!? WHAT THE—!!” Before the other one could finish, he was met with a chop to the jugular.

The boy then faced the leader, who had let go of jiaoqiu’s ear and stared fearfully at the boy who had just knocked out his three friends “Who—” a punch to his gut quickly shut him up before slamming his bicep against the leaders neck and bashing him against a wall, successfully knocking him out.

Jiaoqiu stared in awe and slight fear. He had never seen someone around his age so fast and easily knock out four boys under a minute! “You okay foxy?” The boy asked making jiaoqiu jump slightly before nodding. He walked up to him and jiaoqiu tried to back away unsuccessfully, still abit fearful of being hit, however, he was…being patted on the head?

“Huh…?” “So fluffy and soft. I’m jealous of you” The boy said with a small smile, easing the nerves of the bullied foxian. “I’m M/n. What’s your name foxy?” “I-I..I’m Jiaoqiu” “well jiaoqiu. I like you. And you’re my friend now”

From that day on, m/n was always seen by jiaoqiu’s side. Weather it was in the library reading on medicine, or in a back alley, beating down on some bullies or even thieves. “Hey jiaoqiu. If a woman can only produce one gender, does that make their womb weak or special?” “Please m/n.. I’m a chief...stop asking me those questions…”

Jiaoqiu dreamed of being a chief yet also a healer to help the military combat the abominations of the abundance. He tried to convince m/n to join the military as m/n was easily the strongest person he knew… well… besides someone else.

“Hey. Why do you want to join the cloud knights? You’re basically giving up your life to some people you don’t have any connection with.. I think it’s pretty dumb.”

“That’s… not how I see it… I want to get rid of the abundance monsters because.. well.. they killed my mom and dad. Not to mention the borisin who ensalved my kind are apparently working with those monsters… I feel like it’s my duty to be on the war and make sure no one dies”

“Huh… I guess I never thought of it like that… At least your not giving up your life for a bunch of nobodies” M/n said, patting jiaoqiu as he usually did making his friend blush a bit. “Sure.. look if you join the cloud knights-” “I already said no” “You will find a person that can beat you!”

That seemed to catch m/n’s interest “Huh? What’re you talking about? I’ve never lost a fight, even with trained cloud knights” “Well… these this girl in the cloud knights. One who I.. owe a debt to. Her name is feixiao and she’s easily the strongest person I know.. maybe even stronger than you” he said teasingly.

M/n stayed silent. He isn’t actually gonna join for a dumb reason like that.. is he? No. No. He doesn’t care about the people of yaoqing, he doesn’t have any connection with them… but then again… being on the battlefield and fighting… meeting this feixiao…releasing his own anger on the enemies of the xianzhou… maybe it is where he’s meant to go… “Fine. I’ll bite”

“M/n… where are your parents..?” “I don’t have any” “Huh?” “Yep. I’ve been a street kid for as long as I remember.” Jiaoqiu felt his tail fall and his ears flop “o-oh.. I-I’m sorry” “why? —Young Adult Years—

M/n was thriving in the cloud knights. He was easily the best of the upcoming graduates. Hell probably even the best of those who ALREADY graduated! His instructors showed special attention to him, wishing the hone and sharpen his skills even further to battle the enemies of the hunt.

His fellow trainee’s looked up to him. Even calling him ‘Big Brother M/n’. He fought with multiple weapons instead of a sword or a spear, as he wished to be adaptable and unpredictable in the battlefield. Something his instructors agreed on, yet also reminded him to use his great mind for intellectual plays as well. Something m/n was obviously and already planning on doing.

Then one day, the instructors decided to hold a special little event. They would bring a cloud knight here to fight m/n. Just to put on a little show and give m/n the fun he looked for. That cloud knight happened to be Feixiao.

“At ease soldiers!” The instructor commanded, as all the soilders relaxed and faced their commander. “Now. As I’m sure you’re all aware, we’ve decided to hold a special event. Everyone! Greet your senior. Could Knight: Feixiao” “MORNING CLOUD KNIGHT FEIXIAO!!” “Ah…! Feixiao…! That’s the woman…” m/n remembered jiaoqiu mentioning her being stronger than him.

“Trainee M/n! Step forward, Solider!!” M/n walked forward as he met feixiao, who looked outwardly enthusiastic yet her eyes held a type of boredom and interest. “Feixiao. I’m sure you’ve been informed why you’ve been summoned here” The White Haired-Foxian nodded with a charming smile “Yeah. I’m meant to fight your best trainee. This Him? I’ve heard quite the story about you Soilder”

“All good I hope” “Mhm. Shall we get started?” “Straight to the point. I like you already” The trainees formed a circle around the two as they were handed wooden swords. “I’ve heard a lot about you from jiaoqiu” “Ohh! No wonder your name sounded familiar. Jiaoqiu also told me a lot about you” “yeah. Thanks for being with him in the cloud knights” “Thanks for being with him during his childhood” They nodded before getting ready to battle. They stared intensely at each other before the whistle blew and they ran at each other.

They clashed the wooden swords together, leaning in the glare at the other with determination. They then jumped away and swung their swords at each other while trying to kick the other. Feixiao was surprised, usually no one would’ve lasted this long against her, jiaoqiu really wasn’t kidding when he said m/n was impressive.

M/n swung his sword and hit her sword before ducking and throwing a sweep kick, which feixiao jumped over and m/n quickly spun around, planting his hand on the ground and pushing himself up to send a kick to feixiao who once again blocked it with her own kick.

The two stood stun locked as they stared at the other in awe. However, they quickly shoved each other away and m/n threw his sword towards her, which she dodged as his sword was stabbed onto the ground and m/n ran towards her, his arm out to close line her. She dodged and she swung her sword which he slide under, moved up and jumped at his sword. One foot kicked the sword and he used it and his momentum to swing around and send a kick to feixiao, while grabbing his sword.

Feixiao looked suprised at this but quickly blocked his kick and ducked his sword swing before slamming him onto the ground and planting her foot on his stomach, making her the victor. M/n stared in surprise.. he actually lost? While feixiao stared in excitement. A rival. She had actually found a rival. “Hahaha~! Not bad! You’re definitely cloud knight material! I’m surprised you didn’t join or graduate earlier!!” She said, helping him up. And, a smiling m/n held onto her hand as excitement shined in his eyes “Holy shit!! You’re Fucking amazing!! No ones ever been able to beat me before!!” M/n quickly hugged her from excitement, making the cloud knight laugh in embarrassment and amusement.

The instructor watched nervously.. maybe getting two battle hungry solider to fight against each other who also haven’t lost a battle wasn’t a good idea. The other trainee’s stared in awe at the battle in front of them, feeling excitement of their own rise up as they yelled and chanted their names.

A couple months later, the trainee’s were graduating and they were choosing which division they wanted to join. Y/n had gotten a recommendation from every division, But he only had his eyes sent on one division. Feixiao’s who had recently became the lieutenant colonel of said division. Hell the recommendation was from her. So, without a second thought. He already made his decision.

The next day, he was personally greeted by feixiao. M/n quickly jumped up to hug her, excited to fight alongside her AND possible fight her. Luckily for him, feixiao didn’t push him away but gladly embraced him with a giggle of her own, the favoritism for m/n from lieutenant colonel Feixiao was painfully obvious.

The next few weeks, the new recruits were being tested to see which battalion they’d thrive in. The aviation, Medicare, Army Corps, Special Forces, etc. M/n was personally chosen by feixiao to join her own battalion in the special forces, his potential and skill easily exceeded everyone else. That and favoritism. M/n joined feixiao, jiaoqiu and a man named moze who was apparently a prison breaker/assassin… something told him he’d get along with him the most. Those were the only ones who m/n bothered to remember, everyone else were just another number to him.

“And you’ll be sleeping here” Feixiao said as m/n flopped on the bed gleefully. “Ahh~ joining the cloud knights was definitely the right choice” “I’m glad you decided to join. I’ve been much more excited since our battle back at the academy” “Speaking of which. I want a rematch! Me and you! Wooden swords again! Once I beat you with that— THEN we can use our real weapons!” He said excitedly which made feixiao laugh, patting his head “Hahahaha~ Sure m/n. But not now, I have something’s I need to take care of” “Booo” he pouted which made feixiao snicker “cute” she thought, bopping his nose and walking out “see you tomorrow Solider”

She waved and exited his room as another entered—Jiaoqiu “Hey there foxy” “Hello m/n. How’s your first day” “Amazing! Meeting feixiao just made my life even better!! You weren’t being a sly cunning manipulative piece of shit when you said she was strong!” “Ahaha.. indeed”

—Adult Years—

Years had passed since m/n joined feixiao. He was now a fully fledged vice lieutenant along side Feixiao. Battle the borisin and abominations of the abundance, freeing enslaved foxians. Meeting people from different ships of the xianzhou. However, m/n has been off as of late.

No one knows why and when they try to question him about it he just acts like nothing’s wrong. This was especially worrying for feixiao, jiaoqiu and moze. They hadn’t seen m/n like this ever. He was always excited for a battle yet stoic when hanging out, but now he was just stoic. That child like yet charming excitement had seemingly disappeared.

Jiaoqiu tried to up lift his spirits by asking him some of the strange questions he once asked him as a kid. Feixiao tried to battle him daily yet that seemed to fail again. Moze tried to help by teaching him some criminal actions like how to escape from the shackling prison and things along that line, it seemed to work slightly but still no significant changes.

Moze felt uneasy, feixiao felt her heart ache, and jiaoqiu felt useless and pathetic—m/n was his one and only childhood friend yet he couldn’t for the life of him find out why or what was making m/n feeling down. M/n didn’t even come out of his room unless it was for battling. This would not stand any longer. So, feixiao took initiative.

“M/n. It’s feixiao, I’m coming in” She said, walking in to see m/n blankly staring at the celling. Feixiao called out his name a bit louder which managed to get his attention “Oh.. Feixiao… another battlefield to go to?” He said blankly, which irked the lieutenant even more, she hated that tone, that blank, emotionless, robotic tone didn’t suit m/n. “No. I’m here for you” “Huh?” Feixiao sat down next to her friend, facing him with a determined look. “What’s wrong with you?” “Hmm?” “Your demeanor! You’ve been all robotic for the last few months now! Do you know how worried I’ve been…!? How worried Jiaoqiu and Moze are!!?”

“It’s…I didn’t know—” “That too! Since when are you blind to our emotions!? You’re the first that knows when someone’s acting off!” M/n stayed silent, just staring at his worried lieutenant “Come on m/n. Please tell me what’s been eating away at you. I can’t handle it to see you being like this a second longer!”

“….a few months ago. You sent me on a mission to eradicate a Disciple of Sanctus Medicus commander. He was hiding in a remote town in the countryside. But when I was there… I found a family… I found my mom. She looked.. happy. When I approached her she didn’t even recognize me. Not just that but I’ve been.. I-I was starting to care for the people of yaoqing… I ignored my mission and tried to get to know the mom I never had, along with my half sister. But it seemed like my mom felt uncomfortable by me. Because I ignored my mission, everyone in that town were murdered, but my mom… she was turned into one of the monsters. Then.. her dying words were ‘why did you come back! How are you alive!!? I left you for the borisin to get mauled!! You got my husband murdered now you come back and get me and my perfect life without you destroyed!! You were always a demon brat!! You can’t even die properly!! I never loved you, so why the fuck would you think I wanted to bond with you after all these years!!!’ Her last words, before you guys came and saved me… she didn’t even want me to be born. She left me to the borisin to get fucking mutilated. But since I’ve started to care about the people of yaoqing.. this FUCKING itch has been in my mind that I can’t scratch!! I-I feel like because I started to care IM the reason why those people died a meaningless death!! It’s because I’ve been more emotional that I ignored my mission and tried to get to know my—my….My ‘birther’. I just… I don’t know how to feel. I don’t—”

Before he could continue, feixiao quickly brought him into her embrace, comforting the confused and depressed man as he cried into her shoulder “It’s okay… I got you.. I’m here for you… WERE here for you. Someone like you didn’t deserve such a bitch for a mom” she comforted him as he silently cried, slowly he fell asleep from fatigue and feixiao held him in her arms, picking him up to lock the door before laying herself and him on his bed, sleeping while holding him closely.

Weeks later, m/n seemed to return to his usual self but much less upbeat. He felt much closer to feixiao now and she was definitely keeping an eye on him much more, much to jiaoqiu’s confusion and sliiiiiiight jealousy. Moze just seemed glad that everything returned to normal. Later they’re was a red alert, the enemies of the hunt had teamed up with the borisin to attack a city.

All divisions quickly ran to the battlefield that was the city, massive clash can be heard from miles and miles away. Slowly, the city was being destroyed and both sides were begging to fall. This battle lasted for 3 whole months before the cloud knights came out victorious. Many soldiers fell yet one person was no where to be found. They searched everywhere, every sinkhole made, under every fallen building, and even a 50 mile radius to find him. But m/n was nowhere to be found.

Feixiao, Jiaoqiu, and Moze were hit the hardest by this. M/n had just started to return to normal, and now he was missing. No body, no scrap of dna, no armor or clothing. He just vanished. Feixiao refused to make a burial for m/n. She refused to accept that he was dead, she wouldn’t even humor it, the same for Jiaoqiu, who became even more attached to feixiao and despite to repay his debt to her, Moze became much more reclusive.

Years later, m/n was found. When feixiao and jiaoqiu heard this news, their face lit up like never before. They begged Moze to take them to him. But instead they were handed a paper. A wanted paper for Stellaron Hunter M/n. Bounty— 10,799,000,000

March looks at you with worried eyes as she sees how cloudy yours are .

Soon, you’re in the express , being stuck in a cuddle pile including Caelus , March, and Dan Heng , with at least 6 blankets on top of you as every one avoids the wound you have .

You had to stay at Herta’s space station for a while and then return to the Astral Express , the people who started the rumors about you are very much in the hospital.

A Very Rough, Very Informal “Essay” about Eurylochus and Odysseus

I swear to god if I see someone else hating on Eurylochus. I want to scream at this point.

Okay, let’s go in depth, shall we? Let’s start from the beginning since almost everyone seems to forget the Cyclops Saga when it’s convenient to blame him. Odysseus was warned by a goddess not to shout out his name. This wasn’t some subordinate saying ‘don’t do that.’ This was his mentor and a goddess, a very powerful goddess, saying ‘that’s a bad idea don’t do that.’ And what does the idiot do? Yell out his name.

And second, yall forget Eurylochus also warned Odysseus in Luck Runs Out about the gods. Odysseus does make good points about not wanting Eurylochus to spread rumors that will make the crew doubt his leadership, but in the process brushes off Eurylochus’ very legitimate and very valid concerns. He’s like “ehhh well I’m gonna try greeting the world with open arms so sorry bud, you’ll just have to trust me.” (as if that didn’t fail for him already when he spared the cyclops). The wind bag is 100% Eurylochus’ fault, I will admit that. What angers me is that people forget Odysseus was warned by Eurylochus as well.

Is Eurylochus kind of a dick for wanting to leave his men behind when they get transformed by Circe? Yes. But it makes sense. I mean, the way Eurylochus describes it in Puppeteer is absolutely brutal. It’s slow, painful, and gory. But if you think about it, it’s a reflective of what Odysseus does in Scylla. Odysseus sacrifices 6 men to save the majority. Eurylochus wanted to leave the transformed men behind to save himself, Odysseus, and the remaining crew. When Odysseus sacrifices men it’s “oh he’s doing it to get home” as if Eurylochus wanting to leave the men behind wasn’t for the exact same reason 💀

Next, let’s talk about the two in the Thunder Saga. As mentioned by Jay many, many times, Eurylochus and Odysseus’ values switch. Eurylochus takes on being the one willing to get his crew home safe while Odysseus is concerned only about himself. So obviously, these shifts in value are going to cause a very extreme reaction from Eurylochus. When Odysseus saved his men from Circe, Eurylochus realized that they could solve their problems instead of just running from them. That’s why he brings up their past encounters with enemies.

When they’re on Thrinacia, Eurylochus isn’t acting out of anger. He’s acting out of desperation. Yall people say that when Odysseus disregarded Athena and then shouted out his name, he wasn’t in the right state of mind because Polites just died. Well I got some news for you. Eurylochus was not in the right state of mind when he ignored Odysseus’ warnings and killed the cow. He was hungry, weak, and desperate for food, and he had food right there in front of him. He also, at least in EPIC, was not there when Tiresias appeared. So he is likely ignorant of the prophecy and due to his now negative perception of Odysseus and since they technically did manage to overthrow him briefly, believes that the warnings are false/exaggerated. He’s hungry. That’s the most simple explanation. And hunger makes you do things irrationally.

And lastly, are you really going to shame Eurylochus and the crew for being angry with Odysseus when he chooses himself over them? Put yourself in their shoes. You’ve been away from home for 10+ years, you’re *still* hungry, you are bringing home no spoils and have no glory. And you’re going to tell me “Oh yeah it’s fine because at least the captain gets to go home.” No way in hell would I be okay with that even if I acknowledged my faults.

I just. Yeah. I can’t. I can’t deal with the Eurylochus slander anymore. Like I love Odysseus and he’s still my favorite character in EPIC, but man is he about just as much of an idiot as Eurylochus. He does not need as much protection as you all are giving him. He equally fucked up their chance to get home as Eurylochus did. The only exception is from Calypso. This is why we needed Polites to survive smh 😔

Gally:

oh gally.. poor gally and his absolute guilt and fear of losing himself again and killing another..

after he killed chuck for MONTHS he was terrified he would somehow lose himself again and kill someone else, he literally refused to even have physical contact unless absolutely necessary for so long, once he slowly got over his fear he never really got back to normal, hugs are EXTREMELY rare from him, even rarer then before.

gally refused to let himself grieve over chuck and the deaths of the Gladers that stayed behind until he literally couldn't because he believed for a long time he believed he didn't have the right to.

He refused to talk about them too, like if someone just asked about the maze or about what happened he would refuse to answer them

one day frypan brought up something about one of Gally's old friends on accident and he just started BALLING, it wasn't loud or anything just silent tears as he started insisting he didn't mean to hurt anyone, after talking it out with frypan a bunch and a few more times after he felt a bit less guilt.

After a long time he carved his old friends names onto the stone with the help of frypan, and him overall just being supportive and cheering him on :)

(As you can tell Gally and frypan being friends is like my fav thing ever)

Minho:

after Minho was rescued he couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't, sometimes he would insist that the safe haven wasn't real and that people were trying to hurt him or that wicked was going to come back and kill him

i also wouldn't be surprised if he developed some form of hallucinations along side it, long making him spiral further. slowly though they became less frequent and intense and he learnt to ground himself, occasionally he just squeezes his friends knees or shoulders to remind himself they are actually there or asks them "this is real right?"

Minho ended up with permanent insomnia and night terrors though, for the first month or two in the safe haven he would wake up kicking and screaming but soon it just turned into silent sleep paralysis.

he never gained all his muscle and stamina back, DONT GET ME WRONG HE IS STILL EXTREMELY FAST AND STRONG but not the level he was before. (slightly chubby Minho post death cure will forever be one of my fav head canons omfg)

He and Newt talk about hallucinations and not being able to tell what’s real and find a massive comfort in each other because no one else actually knows what it’s like. (Don’t get me wrong so many people in the safe haven have trust issues but it’s not the same yk?)

Newt:

Before I even get into the mental impacts of just EVERYTHING I’m just gonna mention the fact of how WEAK he would’ve been afterwards, the flare would’ve done numbers on his body that the cure couldn’t have fixed. He was probably weak for awhile (like a month or two) and his limp was significantly worse and he used a cane (after he got better he kept it because it just made everything significantly easier)

Also I feel like even thought he got the cure he still struggles with hallucinations and paranoia, mainly about him getting the flare again or the cure somehow not working

When he gets sick (like a cold) he’s SUPER on edge because it just reminds him of the early hours/days of the flare, especially if he gets phlegm in his throat or something. Thomas and Minho have caught him mumbling to himself saying "you don't have the flare you don't have the flare-"

he doesn't talk about when he had the flare to many people, maybe Thomas and Minho a few times but he wont go into detail.

Thomas:

the TRUST ISSUES. OMG. during the scorch trails he only trusted Newt, Minho and Brenda indefinitely, he trusts Jorge and everyone else to an extent but he occasionally has his doubts.

he's entirely desensitized to blood and gore, along with Minho and Newt. his pain tolerance is extremely high and if he gets hurt he never realizes to extent, like he could sprain his ankle or something and say "i just need to walk it off" as it turns purple and black

he got VERY protective of himself and the few people he does trust, especially Newt and Minho. anyone he doesn't know he has a fear that they are always lying and that everything they say is bullshit. basically a massive "trust no one (except like 3 people)" mentality.

even though he isn't a leader anymore he still feels the need to keep up this facade of being strong and fearless, even though there is no danger anymore.

he's super jumpy, always on guard and ready. constant state of fight or flight, anyone who's sitting around him he constantly as an eye on. sometimes even Newt or Minho on a bad day, for weeks post death cure if you touched him without warning he flinch and if he didn't he adrenaline would go through the roof until he realized "oh its just ____"

Prime Asset OC

I made a new outlast trials OC but I'm figuring out a name for her. This post is a long one but I'm explaining a lot

She's 28, from Los Angeles, and is a prime asset. Her nickname is "Big Sis" because she thinks of the other assets as her family. Gooseberry being the mom, Leland being the dad, Franco being her little brother.

Her backstory (tw for mentions of child abuse, child pr0stitution, and sa) is that she grew up in the bad side of LA, her parents were never around due to them being failed actors trying to make it big, so she had to be taken care of by her own older sister, but her sister wasn't a good sister so she often got brushed aside or forced to do stuff to make her sister money and at one point she was sold for child pr0stitution for moneys sake, money she never saw. When she grew out of the household, she became a bar tender, which explains why she's charismatic like the other 3 assets. While she was working one night, she was SA'd by a drunk man, which caused her to go blind in her left eye and which left a scar. After killing the man, she started killing r*pists and 0ffenders to defend people, unlike how she wasn't defended from that when she was little. She ended up killing over 50 people before being arrested, while in jail she was hired by Murkoff who found her working in the cafeteria, and the prison let her be sold off to Murkoff due to their connections with the CIA

Currently she's very defensive of her "family" but has a very twisted view on it. She's mainly defensive of Franco and when she sees him attacked, she claims he's just an innocent baby. She's very kind but merciless to those she claims are "bad people". Her main personality traits are her overprotectiveness, her kindness, her hostility, and her main emotion is disgust, as she feels disgust towards those who harm her "family". She views Gooseberry as a very kind woman and often talks to herself about how "mama" is gonna be proud of her, but she automatically assumes Gooseberry is always proud of her. On the other hand she works hard to get the approval of Leland, she wants to make her father proud. So she's a bit attention seeking. She's also a big anxious, as seen when she killed someone and had to rip their head off just because the face the person made as they died made her very angry and scared

Her hair is supposed to be messy in a way that she tried cutting it herself but botched it, and her roots are brown but the rest of her hair is poorly bleached. Her complexion is pale and she's the slimmest out of the assets, with her shape being more of a rectangle, with a flat chest and not a lot for ass

Her pronouns are she/her

She's American, fully American and from LA

Her weapon is a Molotov Cocktail since she was a bartender

Her main weakness is loud noises, so she's the only asset deterred by the screamer

The only ex-pops she seems to dislike is the Pusher since she hates how he forces his drugs onto other people

Her relationship with Easterman is sort of father/daughter like, but it's only in a sense where she sort of acts like a moody teenager around him. She doesn't dislike him, she just prefers to either be with Franco or by herself

She loves Franco the most, and will often spoil him with drinks, food, coffee, and cuddles. She loves her "little brother"

She also loves Phyllis, but hates Dr. Futterman because she thinks he's a terrible grandfather, Dr. Futterman doesn't think of her as his granddaughter. But she loves Phyllis and will often stick close to her for love, but she's a little traditional in a sense where she believes the father is better at protecting

As for Leland, she loves him to pieces. She views him as her father and will often seek guidance and protection from him. Sometimes when she messes up by losing track of a reagent or getting interrupted in her killing animation, she'll often seek him out for "discipline". She heavily admires his skills to dish out what they both view as justice

As for with the reagents, she's bitter towards them. She views them as getting in the way of her family and will do anything to get rid of them, even if that includes trying to break into the shuttle to get at them, which has never been successful. She gets anxious when she doesn't see them for a while and often is heard hoping they didn't attack "papa", "mama", or "baby".

She often yells a lot and can have a temper. Her main method of attacking is with her molotovs, but sometimes she just uses hairspray and the lighter for her cocktails to act as a flamethrower. But she hates getting dirty so she'll only get close if she's all out of options

All in all, her nickname is Big Sis, she grew up in the bad part of LA, is fully American, and craves a family. Here's her design, I got too lazy to draw her so I made her in Gacha Life 2 and edited it a bit in ibis.

Okay so I wanna talk about how people use that news paper clipping (will add it below)

If you can’t read it, the basic summary is Micah and his father killed a farmer and his wife. Micah the second(I’ll just call him Micah the second) was 38 and Micah was 17 years old, from what we know from the game and Micah literally saying it himself that his father was a bad man, and we have no idea what his mother was like, maybe she was mistreated by his father, Left or was bad too. Anyways back to the original conversation is that no 17 year old is gonna kill someone without being influenced to do it, obviously Micah the third was pressured by his father to kill people. He says it himself, “my daddy said sympathy is for the weak” so his father most likely groomed him into crime (or whatever word you use for that) and his brother Amos luckily got away from that mess and started a family. It’s obvious that Micah the third was influenced by his father.

off topic I wanna talk about his relationship with his brother

Micah brother doesn’t exactly hate him, and something I wanna talk about is that Micah is atheist and Amos is Christian, Amos had the chance to change from being a outlaw but Micah didn’t because his brother didn’t want Micah near him anymore. So Micah continued on the outlaw path, I wish we knew more about the bell family.

And last but not least, I wanna talk about some of the narcissistic people in the fandom and how stupid they sound.

“Micah is a grapist” The thing is, we don’t know that and nobody in the fandom knows that he is or isn’t, it’s not confirmed and it’s a theory. Also we don’t know if he actually did it with Jenny, he could’ve been lying just to gain attention and we don’t know if it was non-con or not. “His looks give off pervert vibes” that’s a bit odd to say considering his actor looks like him? It’s really rude to say too, it’s kinda sad how Peter got death threats and people say “That’s how you know he plays good as a villain” that’s how you know people are too sensitive to be playing a game about outlaws

Yet again, they don’t call out any other characters for it? Like Dutch, bill, and Javier and harass people for liking Micah.

“Micah’s racist and you support his actions!” That’s the way Micah was brought up, although it’s still wrong and nobody supports it. Do they support Arthur killing people? No I don’t think they do

Firstly, I do absolutely agree on Micah's upbringing. I have a brief post on it already ("Upbringing.") and I very much think that his dad set him up for failure very early on, giving him no chance to pick his path himself.

Amos and Micah were both influenced by their father as all three did crimes together, but Amos was lucky enough to get himself out of it, while Micah sadly couldn't. That's the very reason I think Micah ended up killing his own father; never having a chance to choose his own path.

Now, I don't blame Amos for disliking Micah, but I wish there was just a little sympathy he had for his brother, because he himself was in Micah's shoes for a good portion of both of their lives.

Unrelated: I find it very interesting Amos is the only on here that has his own name, and isn't Micah IV or something. Do you think this also influenced something between the two of them, that made them more distant? I know I would be pissed if my brother got his own name, while I had to continue family tradition. Just a thought.

Now, the Jenny Kirk situation is very tricky; we don't get much information about it. All he really says is that he 'had her', said she was a 'dirty little thing', how he felt for Lenny because he 'got her before he could', and last how she 'might have been carry Micah IV.', but that's really it.

We don't get anything else from Micah about it, or in the game in general. That really means it's left for interpretation of the fandom, which we know most will say that it was a non-con situation. Now—maybe a little controversial—I don't think that he necessarily assaulted her. I mean, he isn't ugly to everyone. Let's talk camp interactions; he fake-flirts with Susan Grimshaw, who plays into it. Would she be doing that if she thought him unattractive? I don't think so. Then again, I do wish we had some confirmation on this, like with other characters (Colm, Dutch etc.)

While on topic of that, I want to mention another thing. Whether or whether not Micah is a rapist, I think the fact that Dutch is confirmed to be one in RDR1 is just wayyy too overlooked, while everyone makes their speculations and accusations on Micah through a singular interaction with him. In RDR1, when Dutch is being described, one of the names is 'rapist' and I wish that more people talked about that, and not so much Micah's that isn't even hinted at to be an assault. But, to each their own.

Small edit: This was still wrong of Micah, considering Jenny's age. It's not exactly known, but she was very young (17-21) and absolutely out of his age range. Even if consensual between the two of them, it was very prominent that she was way too young to have sex with him, and that's on him as the older one in the situation.

Peter Blomquist getting sent threats was proof he could play an amazing villain, and it makes me pretty sad to think people don't know how to separate the character from his actor. It was pretty immature to send him literal threats, and I still sometimes see comments on his instagram, which is just insane. It's been years, and we still act this immature?

As far as Micah's racism comments go, the root is most likely also his father. But, I can't much excuse him there because I myself grew up around some very vulgar language about people of color. Not to forget, with me being Croatian, I was around when people still talked ill of Serbs because of the war. But, even as a very impressionable kid, I was able to grow myself out of it. I never spoke ill of Serbs or people of color. (Briefly while I was still around 12, but I feel that can be overlooked.) I think it's possible to change your views, and this is one of the few things where I can't much find a way to defend Micah, but I'll take into consideration his upbringing and the fact that during the Western times, a heap of people were practically all racist.

They may see themselves as vigilantes, but everyone in the gang is a bad person, that has done/is doing bad things. Micah is a bit more ruthless, that much I'll admit. But again, another ideal of his fathers and how he was brought up. "My daddy always said, sympathy is for the weak." He says even more lines like these, spreading his fathers' bad teachings because that's what he knows. But, I do find it very intriguing that he still spreads his fathers' word, even after killing him himself. Oh, Micah; my fellow daddy-issue-haver.

Now let's talk about Georgie in the superheroes AU! And wtgfs, and jongeorgie. Strap on!

I was just thinking, since I like her a lot and and her whole shtick in canon is to not feel fear (=not be influenced at all by them) but mostly that I like her a lot and I want her to have nice things, why not give her the ability to temprorarily erase other's powers? Like... Well let's not lie there are literally SO many people with that set of powers in media. Rogue, Alexia Tarabotti, Leech the mutant, Eraserhead, Amon, Number Seven,... Buncha cool people basically.

So, extremely powerful. But since she's Georgie... She doesn't want anything to do with that superhero business. Not at all. Nope. Categorically not. Forever civilian. That also means that while she has one of the strongest powers, she is entirely untrained in hand-to-hand combat and is actually kinda weak against anyone/villain/supe who doesn't rely overly on their powers or has like. A weapon.

Also the irony that the only person that might have a shot at taking down Dr. Magnus/The Watchman, the only person he fears (probably) has dated both of his ex-teammates is... not lost on me. I think it's kinda funny! So is the fact Georgie could take him down if she wanted but doesn't because she doesn't want to get involved, period.

Since she won't be doing much actual fighting, I dare think I'm allowed to give her very few drawbacks to her powers. So like, there will be someone else in the AU who can "steal" powers with a touch, I think (this really is one of my fav powers to give out, uh) (suggestions?) but for Georgie it's just. Area effect. She activates it and suddenly everyone in a certain distance of her can't do shit no more. It does tire her though. I'm thinking if she trained she could expand her "area of effect", control the distance she wants better, and work it for longer? But she's not interested in any of that. So!

Or maybe it's only one person at a time. Mmmh. But I also don't really need to give her limitations, so. We'll see, depending on what the plot requires when I actually get around to thinking about that particular can of worms.

Nowadays, she is dating Melanie, obviously. There's a certain poetry in knowing your partner is the only one that makes you vulnerable, the only one who could kill you if you asked. I think Melanie equal parts fears and respects her for it. It's a bit of danger in her life that she loves because adrenaline junkie but also she doesn't wholly trust Georgie even though she has no reason not to. It's... She's got complex feelings about this, man.

She used to be dating Jon, which went about the same as in canon I suppose. There's an added layer there though, with Georgie being the only one capable of giving Jon a reprieve, of sorts, from feeling/being harrassed by all the emotions of people around him. Did I say already that's something he struggles with a lot? He really does. He's having a terrible time. Puppy just wants a break from it all. And Georgie could give him that! And quite happily too. Although not all the time. Jon used to feel quite awful about it though, like he was using her for her powers. He questionned more than once if he was only with her because of what she could do for him. He wasn't, he truly loved her, but yknow. Jon's gonna Jon.

Georgie has complex feelings about her powers not being treated as a curse that removes people's abilities for once but instead a blessing with Jon. She has complex feelings about making Melanie human, about holding so much power over her life. Yadda yadda yadda, I'm sure you can imagine what all those feelings are.

Yapping time! Spoilers for DRDT C2E14

So the entire episode was great, but there’s one part I’d like to talk about most. David’s monologue towards the end. Specifically the second half, where he gets away from his logical stuff and into the more interpersonal stuff. I’ll break it down line by line.

“All I want is for Teruko to distrust others.”

Okay we are starting off interesting. Now, due to David’s nature we can’t trust him to be honest. We cannot take this as explicit confirmation of any sort of goal. With that said, his goal appears to be fucking up the class trial in some manner. We don’t know his motive, but that goal seems consistent enough to work with. So let’s work with it. Teruko is literally one half of this classes helpful trial participants. Her and Charles are the entire brain of this class. Charles can be killed, he has a glaring flaw in a debilitating fear of blood, he’s easy enough to deal with when the time comes. Teruko is stupidly resilient. To everything. The one thing she obviously struggles with is her trust issues/paranoia. If you’re looking to get under her skin that’s where you gotta go. Saying this is a clear demonstration he intends to poke at Teruko emotionally, which is an interesting thing to admit out loud. If I had to guess, it’s because he’s trying to kill two birds with one stone and make the class start to distrust Teruko as well.

This is him saying he’s lying about seeing the body, I think. He’s doubling down on inciting paranoia, in both Teruko and the class. It’s interesting he would say this out loud. He’s hyper focused on fucking with Teruko and it shows. If you take out the brain, the body goes as well. It’s certainly a strategy of all time.

“There is no other proof of Eden’s innocence.”

As far as we know, this is a true statement right now. Unless I’m unaware of something that was the biggest piece of evidence meant to clear her name, and he brought it into question.

“As long as there’s a possibility that the evidence is false, as long as there’s even the slightest reason to distrust others, then Teruko cannot trust Eden.”

Oof, he’s got her dead to rights. I don’t think there’s a good faith argument for him being wrong. It’s cool to see how much he understands the cast. It’s an interesting way to show how Teruko’s thoughts process works without betraying her guarded nature. Having a character so ready to pick at her weakness is a good writing choice, and I hope they keep David around for a time. Teruko is the least trusting character I’ve ever seen in any fangan game, granted I haven’t played them all but still. There’s a chance the story doesn’t have any sort of lesson, and we’re just gonna watch Teruko suffer. The idea that she can’t bring herself to trust if there’s even a 0.001% chance of something being false is such a good character flaw. She’s clearly terrified of risk, and she doesn’t know how to get rid of her paranoia, even though I think she wants to.

Ohohoho you smug piece of shit. You fucking dick. This is more proof he’s not just saying these things in an objective way. He’s just trying to hurt her, as far as we can assume.

Yeah she’s fucking rocked. Teruko really doesn’t take things lying down. Befitting of her backstory, she’s the type to struggle and fight back against anything she can. But here she has nothing to say. David has read her for filth and they both know it. Now that I think about it, this probably also plays on her fear of being vulnerable. What could possibly be more vulnerable than someone telling you your own exact thought process?

“It’s in your nature to distrust people.”

This is a more interesting statement than it appears at first glance. Specifically because he says it’s in her nature. To him, this isn’t a choice she’s making because of the killing game. It’s not circumstance that has pushed her into this. No, this is who she is, and this is who she’ll always be. Which is a horribly insulting thing to say, because it’s within most humans nature to trust each other somewhat, and it’s life circumstances that push them away from collaboration. He’s saying that Teruko is so fucked in the head that she’s fundamentally different from the standard human baseline.

“Everyone you know has already betrayed you. There’s no one in this world who won’t hurt you. Even the people you love will turn their backs on you in the end. You know that well enough, don’t you?”

…Jesus Christ. He really is just the devil on her shoulder. These are her worst thoughts said out loud and back to her. Do you think she considers someone dying on her and leaving her alone a betrayal? Is that a part of this? Him saying “even the people you love” is interesting, does she really even have anyone she loves in the cast? Or does she just tolerate them. He’s making grand, sweeping statements about her life potentially before the killing game and hitting the nail on the head every time. An impressive feat of manipulation and perceptiveness.

“So distrust in others. Because that’s the only way you know how to live.”

Ow. Ouch. Owie. Not only is this a banger way to end the monologue but it’s just so telling. Teruko doesn’t even say anything in response she just waits for Charles to change to subject. Also, is he even really wrong? She tried to afford people trust and then she got stabbed and everyone else blamed her. She’s definitely swung too far the other way, but it’s not like she was good at knowing how much trust to afford people. This life is really the only way she knows how to live. How things are now, she’ll suffer any other way. It’s such juicy character writing. Damned if you do damned if you don’t. David has definitely been watching Teruko’s behavior, and quite frankly he has her figured out. He’s perceived her, and she hates it. I think we all know Teruko is lonely, she deeply wants people around her. But between being a danger to them and all her trust issues she shuts herself away. David is doing everything he can to keep her as far away from forming meaningful connections as possible. He’s clearly got some sort of plan.

There’s also a few things I want to talk about that I didn’t have the ability to put under a spoken line, so I’ll yap down here.

Firstly, Teruko extending some “trust” to Eden doesn’t prove David wrong. If anything, it strengthens his argument. Looking at the actual content of Teruko and Eden’s back and forth, it’s barely a scrap of trust and it’s completely conditional. Teruko basically said “because you helped me last trial I will trust you enough to investigate you second” which is still incredible progress for her, but it’s nothing close to genuine trust. This is not to diminish the progress Teruko made in that scene, but it’s nothing close to countering David’s claims.

Secondly, THAT VOICE ACTING HELLO?!?? David’s VA has always been great, but combined with DRDTdev’s wonderful writing and sprite design/choices he really brought this scene to life. He was perfectly smug and condescending. He had a voice that really portrayed that “I’m 100% right about you and you can’t do anything about it” vibe. Just a total piece of shit. 10/10 would listen again.

made smth like this before but it was so incoherent lmao, im aiming for this one to be a little better worded/constructed. literally just gonna be a whole rant defending cherry/refuting common counterarguments i see

im being so genuine, can yall tell me a GOOD REASON why you hate cherry. every single reason i hear is so stupid, all of her actions that make her "hated" are incredibly understandable if you had just taken a moment and tried to imagine what it was like given her situation.

a good example would be "she didn't visit johnny in the hospital" :: johnny killed bob: cherrys boyfriend. johnny is her boyfriend's killer. name one person who would wanna go see their partner's killer. and a counterargument to this i see a lot is "johnny defended her against dally" :: which, yeah, maybe that made cherry somewhat like him a little more, but she had never even met him until the drive in. and, i simply believe someone killing your partner outweighs the one good thing that they did for you.

"being rude to ponyboy" :: socs couldnt really be seen with greasers because it would ruin their reputation, and rep is very important to both socs and greasers. i do agree it might've been a bit selfish, but you have to take into consideration the time period and their situation. this also can apply to the scene in the movie where cherry didnt wave back to ponyboy at school. but, cherry explicitly stated that she probably wasn't going to say hi or wave back, and told him not to take it personal because she would if she could: "you're a nice boy and everything, but we just couldnt let our parents see us with you" bringing back my point about reputation being important. she obviously WANTED to talk to him more, but couldnt due to social expectations

cherry disregarding ponyboy's issues by saying "things are rough all over." if you read the parts whenever randy spoke, you'd know this argument is pretty weak. and even then, she wasn't even disregarding them, she just wanted to give pony a sense that he's not alone.

a lot of this just boils down to trying to put yourself in her shoes; you have to understand where she's coming from. i've made this point a couple of times within the paragraphs. she's also only 16.

also, i've seen a lot of people who hate cherry also love dally? .. how are you gonna hate a character who's actions are pretty understandable if you just put yourself in their shoes, but like the character who's does FAR worse things, mostly just for fun (jumping little kids, cheating, drinking, etc.)?? talk about hypocrisy... i feel like this lowkey has some misogynistic undertones too but whatever.

How Sakura’s Love Interest Ruined Her Character Development

Alright. I promise this is the last Sakura related content I’ll do for a while. But after seeing several other people on here talk about about this subject, I thought it would be interesting to discuss. This isn’t gonna be a full on analysis, rather my thoughts as someone who loves Sakura and was disappointed to see how her character was handled in canon.

I think a lot of the fandom can be agree that Sakura’s biggest flaw was her love for Sasuke. Love is typically supposed to be a character’s strength, but unfortunately for our pink cherry blossom, it’s her weakness. And her downfall.

Now, I’ve already made it clear what my feelings on SasuSaku are. I like the pairing, they could have been better developed and aren’t nearly terrible as people claim they are. However, it would be ignorant of me to not acknowledge that canon Sasusaku is… kinda shitty.

Don’t get my wrong, they have their cute moments in blank period, like Sasuke asking Sakura to wear the clan crest, but things start going downhill when they get married and the plot of Burrito rolls around. Sakura is left to be a single mother while Sasuke is off god knows where for that stupid space alien/ “remains of Kaguya” whatever plot. Sasuke never writes to check up on his family, it’s implied that Sarada doesn’t remember him at all or what he looks like, and Sakura is left there trying to assure her poor daughter that Sasuke is doing this because he loves them. But when Sasuke comes back, he rarely acknowledges or wants to spend time with them at all. Not to mention, he seems to care more about Naruto’s kid than his own. Naruto suffers from this problem as well, but that’s a discussion for another time.

For the canon endgame, Kishimoto certainly doesn’t write any of his characters being happy in their relationships.

Anyway, Sakura and her character development. It may not have been grand as her teammates, but it was still there. Sakura went from a naive girl that was obsessed with boys and her looks to someone who acknowledged that she had to work harder if she wanted to help and protect those she cared for. She went from disliking and envying Naruto to someone who was willing to throw her ninja career away so her friend could follow his dream. She wanted to help Naruto to bring Sasuke back, but realized she wasn’t strong enough, so she went to Tsuande for help and become a damn good medical ninja as a result. She became more confident in herself and was always there to support her friends. She never needed an epic fight or a tramatic backstory, I would say her development was pretty great.

But then all of that gets thrown away whenever Sasuke comes into the picture. Sakura may be able to stand up for others, but never does she stand up for herself when it comes to Sasuke. When he belittles her in the War Arc for simply asking him what was going on, she gets all quiet and sad. Defeated. Worst part is that Naruto can’t even stand up for her properly.

The kunoichi who broke off Kaguya’s horn and aided in sealing her, therefore saving the world, is left a begging, whimpering mess for Sasuke to come back to her, to come back to team 7. And what does she get in return? A genjustu of him killing her.

And just when you think oh this has to finally get her to realize that she can do so much better than him, or at least get her to step back and reevaluate her feelings, let her spend time away from him, it’s just forgotten about! Forget traumatizing and hurting her, it’s okay because Sasuke apologized and now she wants to go with him. Don’t get me wrong, I do think that was a genuine apology, but the fact that she was just expected to forgive him at the snap of a finger was infuriating. And down right sad.

It doesn’t help that nobody else comments on it, or tells Sakura “hey, what he did was pretty shitty, you didn’t deserve that.” Or stand up for her at all. Kakashi kinda did, but it was so weak.

In Naruto, a woman’s role is to support the men, because what else are they good for? And if they ever move on from a guy they like, they’re a “terrible person,” in Kishimoto’s words. Whatever improved or developed Sakura’s character, it reverted backwards or was simply forgotten for Sasuke. Because Sakura loves him, she can never disagree or argue or fight with him, because that would make her a bad person.

Sakura had the potential to become one of the greatest heroines in anime, but that was all thrown away becasue of her misogynistic creator and his idiotic editors. She deserved better, every female character in Naruto deserved better, and burrito should have never happened because it’s an abomination to the Naruto franchise.

Is your life so unimaginably dull that you can't think of any events in your life to describe that might be more interesting than the weather? Let's think of something for you to talk about other than the weather. I mean, we barely even know anything about you, other than where you live. Valkyrie: Let's start there. What do you do for a living? Serpine: I'm a general.

Vile: What’s your greatest weakness? Serpine: Interpreting the semantics of a question, but ignoring the pragmatics. Vile: Could you give an example? Serpine: Yes, I could.

Valkyrie: I may be stupid. The generals: … Valkyrie: Oh, did you think I was going to finish that sentence?

Vile: I wasn’t that out of it. Valkyrie: You coloured my face with a highlighter because you said I was important. Vile: BECAUSE YOU ARE!

------- This part is set around Playing With Fire 1 is Baron from Dimension X, the other is the normal Baron that even less people remember.

Valkyrie: on the phone with Baron 1 I can’t talk right now, I’m doing hot girl shit. Baron 1: You’re pulling Oreos apart and saving off the frosting to make a mega Oreo, aren’t you. Valkyrie: Maybe.

Vile: I'm trying to juggle family life and work life but I can't seem to find a balance. What do you suggest I do to keep everyone happy? Serpine, deadpan: Quit your job, kill your family.

Vile: Valkyrie, why are you standing in front of the fan? Valkyrie: I’m waiting for Baron to look into the window when he come home. When the fan is blowing on me, I look like a fancy supermodel. Vile: You want Baron to think you’re a supermodel? Valkyrie: Giving him this is the least I can do. It’ll probably be the best part of his walk! Vile, sarcastically: You’re selfless. Valkyrie: Thank you for noticing.

Valkyrie: Can we go out to get icecream? Baron 1: Did you ask Vile? Valkyrie: He said no. Baron 1: Then why did you ask me? Valkyrie: He's not the boss of you. Baron 1, internally: It's a trap, it's a trap, it's a trap.

Mevolent: Can you be serious for five minutes? Valkyrie: My record is four, but I think I can do it.

One of the things I really like with Nene and Kou, is how insensitive they can be to others characters. Absolutely unwillingly all the time.

And on the other side, we have Teru and Hanako. Stating the harsh realities and coming off as insensitive so they can get shocking reactions, and force people to understand.

Teru and Hanako are annoyed and look down at people for not knowing things, even if they are the ones who refuse to share the information they have most of the time. When they decide to do so, it’s mostly because the person in front of them has no idea what they are talking about.

In chapter 85, when Teru said he was going to kill Nene to Hanako. We all know that he wasn’t gonna do it at all, his main mission is to protect humans after all. He only said it, in the most shocking way, to give Hanako another perspective and make him realize what he did. Even if he was planning to instantly exorcize him just after, Teru needed to say all of this, so Hanako could understand how wrong he was.

It’s normal for Teru to act like this towards Hanako, he doesn’t like him after all. 

Most of the time, when he needs to let the truth out, he isn’t happy about it. Especially to people he cares about. He is distressed when he has to announce Aoi is dead to Akane, or when he has to make Kou realize how weak he is. Letting his emotions show way more than people give him credits for. 

For Hanako it’s a bit different.  Both Teru and him still want to be loved at the end of the day, despite what they do and knowing how some things are wrong. But compared to Teru, Hanako also wants to be hated. He knows what he does is wrong, and wants people to despise him for it. He is awful with Nene and with Kou. With Kou to make him move, to obtain a reaction out of him because even if he never said it out loud, he trusts him.

 And with Nene, because he desperately wants to keep her away from him, despite wanting to be the (only) one doing everything for her. He wants to keep her at a distance to ‘protect her’, while being her savior and having the most important role in her life.

He knows Kou and Nene are good kids, so it’s easy to say things who will shock them. 

Teru and Hanako tend to have this belief that they need to carry all responsibilities, while keeping everyone in their ignorance, to better protect them. 

So they come off as insensitive, wanting people to let them be in charge, and getting angry when they go against their plans. 

Ignorance is a gift, and the best protection to exist in their opinion. Teru is not saying anything to anyone. Hanako is doing the same and thinking that time and memory loss would fix everything, and that it’s better to make humans live in a sugar coated version of reality. 

Teru and Hanako act insensitively to get the reactions they want or to prove their points. They KNOW what they are talking about, only letting glimpse of the truth and letting all of it out when they want to.

 On the other hand, Nene and Kou are insensitive because of their ignorance. 

They know nothing about what they are talking about, what is the true meaning of being supernatural, or the real value of life. The knowledge Teru and Hanako have, or at least acknowledge way more. 

They say things that are so stupid at their core, which always come from great intentions. But they really end up hurting people thinking they are doing the greater good. 

Teru was harsh with Kou when he said he was on Nene’s side, going against his brother’s plan and putting them into trouble.

Hanako gets annoyed , and has the need to put them in place, whenever Kou or Nene are over the top optimistic. He always has to put them back in place when they ignore the fact he killed someone.

Nene has no idea what she is talking about half of the time, and this is normal, she is learning and no one is telling her anything. 

 They are both very naive at their core, thinking that motivation and love will save everything. It is something Hanako loves a lot, it’s important to have people who are optimistic, they both seem to value life and enjoy it and always see the good part of everything.

But the more the story progresses, the less Hanako talks. He lost all trust in Kou in the perfect picture arc, realizing that nothing is better than actions, and that Kou had no idea what he was talking about. Strong will to talk about big opportunities and futures, but unable to really achieve any plans. 

Kou always talks big about everything, taking way too much work he has no idea how to deal with. And he fails, a lot. He is always a step behind compared to the other characters, and he tends to acknowledge it more and more. Mitsuba is always annoyed at how much Kou is taking, and how big he talks despite not being able to do anything. 

And Kou’s lack of self confidence is not helping him, transforming even sometimes in absolute lack of self awareness and preservation. He wants to do good, but ends up saying absolutely nonsensical things to Mitsuba or Hanako because he has no real idea what he is supposed to do to make things change.

It’s no wonder Kou is taking Mitsuba’s request badly in chapter 99, when he has been trying so hard to do the right things, and can’t seem to succeed in any of them. 

Kou’s wish is to make everyone happy, but he still can’t accept Mitsuba’s request, because it would just prove one thing. That he has failed. 

 Kou and Nene are just not good at executing plans right from start to end, because they lack comprehension and knowledge. 

A lot of their actions coming from good intentions, end up being absolute disasters. 

Nene in her escape with Hanako, left her friends to deal with Aoi’s situation. She trusts Akane to take care of it, and Kou to take care of Teru. She never said anything about coming back to Kou, letting all of the responsibilities to deal with the others on him. She isn’t even aware what is happening to them when she is alone with Hanako, thinking she is doing the right thing. Not considering that Aoi will be left in the same position as her, being alive because her best friend died. 

She absolutely doesn’t get anything about Sumire’s situation, not saying entirely hurtful things, but being wrong on it from A to Z, because she lacks maturity. She refuses to listen to Sumire, when it’s not about Nene at all. Sumire has every right to make her own choices, even if they can come off as weird or horrible from Nene’s pov, but she doesn’t listen. Thinking that if she keeps looking, if she keeps avoiding what is supposed to happen, to find something ‘where no one will be hurt’, it will be better. It’s really coming from good intentions, Nene is a really nice person. But she has no idea how supernaturals work, and that their wants can be really different from humans. 

She will be slapped in the face by the reality by Sakura just after, who won’t even deny that it’s partly her fault, even if she never wanted this to happen. To better manipulate her probably, but also because Sumire indeed already said she was okay with disappearing. 

They have no idea what are the rules they are playing with. And it is a problem. They are slowly starting to realize that they are living a life they have no control over.

The more the story progresses the more they are aware of what is happening around them. They can’t make everyone happy, some people will be left behind, some will die or stay dead. They lost people during their adventures.They realize that not everyone can have a good end, that sometimes, they are absolutely hopeless and useless in some situations. 

Especially in the red house, despite having found a way to go to the far shore. They had to let Katakuri and little Tsukasa behind, unable to change anything about their fates. And even being the ones creating messes while trying to do good. Saying to Tsukasa that Amane killed him or giving little Amane the wish tags so he can have his wish granted for example.

We can see them trying being more aware of what is happening. With Nene pretending to accept to die to make everything back in order, and Kou bursting into tears when he understands Mitsuba really wants him to exorcize him. They are more aware of the situations they are in and how cruel it can be. 

Kou and Nene are good kids, with self confidence problems. But even with good intentions, they still make selfish decisions, which end up hurting the other persons they know and love. 

They are more aware of the supernatural world, its consequences and injustices. 

 But they are still more optimistic than realistic. This optimism still helped them to manage to come out alive from all the situations they are in. They are slowly gaining maturity on different subjects and I can’t wait to see in which directions their choices will led them now.
