I can't sleep so I'm venting. for the most part i love my d&m readers, but oml sometimes i get qpoc blues so bad 😭😭

It's just liiiike. ppl either don't talk about Mor or completely misinterpret her personality. Like I can always tell if my readers are black or not because nonblack readers no NOT see Mor's significance, or just miss the mark when they talk about her, or they misread her personality. Like I don't understand what's so hard to understand about a cute and thoughtful artist??

AND LIKE LMAO Dom's sexuality gets brought up all the time but no one talks about Mor being a lesbian and how rare that is to find in media 😭 white lesbians are always talking about "we need more open lesbians in media!! ppl shouldn't be afraid to use the word lesbian!! blah blah" and i'm like "here you go!!" and no one claps at all lmao. Like I get it, i know why it happens, i understand racial microaggressions, i know how fandom spaces treat Black women, I UNDERSTAND BUT I CAN STILL BE UPSET. I have the right to be upset about it!!! 💀💀 And I know fem lesbians get ignored all the time, invalidated all the time, but it just sucks to see it happen to my character. I just feel like her being lesbian doesn't clock a lot of people, and I get asked to do more thirst trap art of Mor and I do want to but i'm also trying to be careful about like. And mannnn I was so mad actually that several comments voiced thoughts that essentially said Mor didn't "help" or "take care" of Dom enough, and that when Dom was finally opening up to her it was "Morgan finally doing something" LIKE HELLO??? HELLO??? It's DOM'S flaw that she can't open up? And Morgan does a lot??? I know immature ppl do not appreciate more soft and domestic/feminine forms of care bc they're used to taking their mothers for granted lmao but wooow I was taken aback. First of all, like, I try to show that Mor is the main cook, works just as much as Dom (let's go double income household), is always checking in on Dom's comfort as she navigates being queer, and is overall a very considerate girlfriend. AND SECOND OF ALL LMAO like even if she didn't do all that she doesn't need to have relationship currency to have a doting girlfriend, like the fucking trope of black women needing to suffer for love is so terrible I'VE HAD ENOUGH AND i"M NOT EVEN BLACK. and like on the topic of Domi overall she is more "popular" but sometimes I feel like people don't even really take the time to appreciate the significance about her either. She's not just a funny thirst trap 😭 and I feel like ppl dont acknowledge that she's asian half the time. I have so many white aces who only zone in on that aspect of her and it's like YEAH I GET IT, I'm ace and we don't have a lot of nuanced rep but she's also got more layers than that too. Tons of people related to her in the chapters where she talks about her childhood abuse yet very few people really, like, talked about the type of generational trauma that is very deeply embedded in her different cultures, no one saw that and oooof idk idk it felt inivisible. It's sometimes harder to talk about the racist microaggressions that Domi experiences thru my readers bc ppl will argue "well most webtoon leads are asian" but not many of them are asian in a way that like. talk about it. I'm born in the US so my experiences with being othered as an asian is just gonna be different and it's gonna affect my art and writing but it feels so unappreciated. I've had some queer asians relate to her but i can count them on my hand 💀 (I actually think it's two LMAO i"M SO SAD)

And going back to Dom and the comfort pillow w no agency comment lmao. This is another thing that rubs me the wrong way is once again, people are ignorant to the ways asians get pigeon-holed to media roles that have us being depicted as incapable. Maybe I want Dom to be more of a protector archetype bc I'm tired of meek Asian women in media? 🤔 Maybe I want Dom to be a prince-like character because asians get emasculated a lot?? 🤔🤔 Maybe I want Domi to maintain her prince persona instead of being "'physically' androgynous/masculine but really soft and girly on the inside uwuwu please treat me like a 'real' girl" because even in east asian media we won't allow women to exhibit strength and dependability??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Like why is a tough girl empowering but once we have a gentle and doting personality in a romance it's considered cliche and the flaw of her partner for being "too weak." How to use:

These instructions assume you are using a modded 3DS running the newest version of Luma3DS (not a fork). Citra users IDK you're on your own sorry👍

Download and unzip OnionFS (click "OnionFS.zip") (OnionFS is needed because Tomodachi Life doesn't play nice with Luma's LayeredFS for whatever reason)

Copy the "OnionFS.3gx" file to luma/plugins on your SD card and rename it to "default.3gx"

Unzip the mod and put its OnionFS folder on the root of your SD card. File structure should look like this: SD:\OnionFS\0008C300\romfs\[...]

Before launching Tomodachi Life, open Rosalina (press L + Dpad down + Select) and check "enable plugins"

When launching Tomodachi Life, your top screen should flash blue and say "plugin ready!"

Issues:

Text replacement isn't working for the bunny suit, so it's still listed under "ninja suit" edit: This should be fixed now! i forgor costumes are in a different file than regular clothes

Twelve-layered ceremonial kimono deforms and clips into itself because it's just too darn big. I have no idea how to fix this (but it sure is pretty)

I haven't gotten to test this yet, but islanders may not pronounce the replaced names correctly or just use the old names. But I think they only ever say clothes names during afternoon market and maybe a few news bulletins so whatever

How did you do this I want to do this

Trial and error mostly. This is my first 3ds mod so I may be doing it wrong but it's mostly just replacing/renaming files so. The sparknotes:

Use this spreadsheet and note the file IDs of both the clothing item to be replaced and the clothing item you want to replace it with

Extract the RomFS of both the source and target Tomodachi Life regions (godmode9 is your friend)

Copy the clothing item you want from the source version (model/body/"body_body###_LZ.bin") and rename it to match the ID number of the item you're replacing If you just wanted to replace the models, you're done! But if you want to change the item's name and description text to match, we're gonna have to get a bit more involved:

You need Kuriimu, download it here

In the extracted RomFS of your target region, find message/Clothes/"Clothes_US_English_LZ.bin" (file name will vary if you use a different region of course) and decompress it using Karameru. Then open the decompressed .bin in Karameru and extract it

Launch Kuriimu and look in the ArcBase folder. You'll be editing Body_Desc, Body_Name, and Body_Name_P. Items are sorted by ID.

When you're done editing, make sure to save, then open your decompressed .bin in Karameru again and right click each applicable file to replace it with its newly edited version. Save.

Tools > Compression > Nintendo > Compress > LZ11, select the decompressed .bin you just replaced files in

Actually I would say the peak of toku hero/villain ships entirely. gaijug is just below and then like thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis far underneath those two is like, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh actually idk, whatever KR hero/villain ship ppl have convinced themselves is peak ig. KR doesn't do very good hero/villain come to think of it. I guess it's because of all the main/secondary like how every sentai has its red/sixth (and usually red/blue too but I feel like that's not actually as common as ppl make it out to be, I think a lot of it is people just wanting an episode 1 ship)

Honestly, if my kinks show up in shows at all, they're often done perfectly bc people don't think they're sexual so don't have to pretend they're not (eg. The Stig being essentially a moto-drone like WOW) or the entire premise of the show is based around it (... like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, even though the suits have not been as sexy as I'd like lately) lmao. I did get a bit annoyed at The Orville for giving Isaac (very sexy faceless kind of evil robot) a human appearance and emotions at first but the whole arc was his sexy milf doctor girlfriend going "ehhh actually I like you more when you're a sexy faceless kind of evil robot" which is incredibly based (as is the fact his sexy milf doctor girlfriend is The Sexy Outfit Wearer of the show a la Deanna Troi despite being a canon mother of a teenage boy and visibly middle-aged). ummm but I think all shows should have more crossdressing that isn't for jokes and more femdom or at least FLRs that aren't "bitch wife controls wimp man" coz like ew

Bodysuits are pretty easy to style casually! If you're talking more leotard style that are like a top with a crotch and no legs then a really sexy thing to do is wear low waisted bottoms so the skin on your hips is showing. Kind of like an advanced whaletail lol. Looks best if the bottoms are big baggy jeans/trackies or really slutty tiny pleated/otherwise voluminous miniskirts, I'd stay away from anything tight, small top big bottom energy yk. If you're talking about the full-body tight catsuit type, I think they're always gonna look a bit costumey, but you can still style them. Wearing a cropped/waist-length non-tight jacket over the top always looks super cool, look at 80s Rogue from X-Men! A floor-length coat would look cool too, rather than balancing the silhouette like with the baggy jeans or puffy jacket, it reduces the sex-costumey look by de-dramatising the silhouette by giving it a solid background. There's a lot of ways to play around! Bodysuits are essentially an inner layer the way tshirts and leggings used to be lol so you can honestly do whatever but I think if you want to be stylish you can't go wrong with the balancing act.

I just found this blog and I noticed that a lot of your stuff seems, well, oddly 3D. I don't mean like in a bad way but it feels like rendered but untextured 3D models? I kinda want to ask what your art process is (sorry for mini-rant)

hmm, my art process. honestly i have no idea what to say, i dont know how people normally answer this question so i cant base it off anything either. i'm still kinda new to this whole art thing but i'll try and answer, super sorry if i get this completely wrong and this was all a waste of time.

i guess i'll just talk about how i draw things step by step? for the high effort pieces at least.

ok, so for starters like step 0. when it's a high effort piece, i can already see the image in my mind. i see the pose, i see the general lighting, the layout of stuff, but it's a bit blurry. if i cant see this mental image, the drawing usually comes out extremely poorly.

this is kind of an example of what i see in my head? this might be all useless info idk, but this is i guess where i start.

well step 1 is just the sketch and line. i start with just sketching the general shapes, then slowly refining it until it fits close enough to the image in my head. then in the line layer i'll fix any mistakes the sketch had and add more details to it. oh and for brush, it's just a round brush, like default. i dont know how much of a difference using a drawing tablet does, but i dont use one so... yeah.

i should've put more effort into the sketch for this drawing, but i did not.

next i do flat colors. pretty simple, i just select the smart select the outside of the line layer, invert the selection and now i can't paint outside the lines. i dont really think about what colors i use, i just use whatever the characters normal colors are.

next i do the shading, but first. i duplicate flat layer and recolor it to like a cream color

like so. for high effort pieces, i was told online to shade in pretty much black and white. now actually onto shading. there's 2 kinda shading i do, 1 from the proper light source, and 1 that's kinda just a shadow because things are close together (like corners and stuff). and i'll shade them on separate layers so i can adjust them individually however i want. oh right, i'll either use a very dark color, pretty much black and the the layer blending mode set to multiply. or i'll use a light kind of gray, tinted slightly yellow or something and set the layer blend mode to difference. then i just use a soft air brush and shade in the ways i described above. shading from regular light source, and the corner stuff thing.

then toggle both layers on and mess with the opacity of each layer until you get what you want.

then you can toggle the normal flats layer, the one that has color and it should apply the shading decently. you can mess with the opacity again on the shadows.

next i do lighting. i just grab a very light color, usually pretty close to white and set the layer blend mode to overlay. then i use a soft airbrush and "light" it? idk i just do like the opposite of the normal shadows, lighter the closer it is to the light source

mess around with the opacity as usual. then i do pretty much the same thing if there's another light source. in this case there was a blue light kinda coming from underneath, so i did that.

now from here i would go back to the flats layer, make a copy, and mess around with different layer styles and properties and settings. sometimes just messing around is useful. in this case, i felt it was too bright and colorful, so i decreased the brightness and saturation of it.

i think it helped a little bit but who knows.

now i do some kinda highlights and details. i grabbed the colors that were in the background and used those. it was a weird pale blue. i had 2 layers for this, 1 of them was specifically for his antenna things at the top, and one was just for his "skin". anyway, the antenna layer was normal, just kinda gave it an outline with the random reflective circles you see normally in pictures, no thoughts behind them. the skin tho had the layer blend mode set to soft light, i thought it looked best this way. it was just more random things to imply it was slightly reflective.

together the layers looked like this. i think it makes him look glossier which is what i was aiming for.

next, and it pretty much the end for pebbles, i got someone to look at it and let me know if they think anything was missing. they said it looked a little unsaturated. which it does. so i made a new layer, set the blend mode to saturation, grabbed the airbrush and made it pretty inline with the lighting layer.

that's kinda it. the background i didnt really care about, just drew and colored it. blurred it a bunch and added a bunch of shadows. i did add some like, "overshadows" is what i call it, i just draw some big shadows down the screen as the top layer.

but yeah thats literally everything i did to draw this. i would like to apologize if this was not at all what you wanted to know, i'm certain i've screwed this up bigtime. super sorry for wasting your time. if there's anything i can do to help, please ask. i owe you a proper answer to your question, i'm just really dumb. sorry for rambling. sorry. and sorry if the drawing i used for example didnt showcase what you wanted to know.

POKEMON SV INDIGO DISK PREDICTIONS IN A WARRIOR CATS AU (PART 1) ⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️

Hey! So before Insigo Disk released, I was working on a Warrior Cats au for my own leisure aside from Project Venus. I realized some of my hcs/designs before the dlc released may have been accidental predictions, and I would like to share them with you^^

I'll try to keep it brief for each character coz it's mostly screenshots w/o context! I'll start with my favorite one:

Darkwing (Kieran)

Here is his design!

Now, I want to change it eventually when I get an idea, but notice his little bang. Also, in the second image it is hinted at that he has purple secondary-layered fur. By the way, the reason it's like that is because Darkpaw used to claw at his bangs so much in frustration. Anyway, let me compare with Kieran's bang design:

I'll use this! See how it also swoops down as well? Maybe it's a small thing, but it made me very happy when I noticed it!

Also, here are some hcs centered AROUND Darkwing! I tried to provide dates to prove these were made before Indigo Disk!

Also for context, Maplewing is Millie, who is my player character (I'll show her off soon) and Poppysong is Carmine. I would have put this in the Poppysong category, but since it mentions HOW Darkwing rose to power, it made sense to me. Moonstar (Cyrano) is another character, but since he isn't important his name will not be highlighted in blue. However, Briarhaze (Ms. Briar) is strictly important. Also enjoy some vague world-building lol. I probably have more Darkwing/Darkpaw-esque screenshots but I can always gather them later.

Poppysong (Carmine)

So Poppysong doesn't change much, save for the fact her face gets a bit more sunken-in by the time the Indigo Disk arc rolls around. Here are some more Poppysong-centric hcs I had spilled in dms to friends:

To me, Darkwing and Poppysong do reconcile this way, maybe a bit differently since I typed it, but y'all can see the similarities too, right?

I do not have photographic evidence, but for those whom have played Indigo Disk, you remember how we meet Carmine up until we register for the BB League Club. Also yes I'm aware I probably gave Breezepelt's mother the wrong name. Anyway...

Poppypaw/song and Sledgepaw/foot (Drayton) hc:

In Indigo Disk, Carmine obviously has a close relationship with Drayton, despite her attirude toward him. It is also clear that Carmime would have probably been able to climb higher in the ranks of she wasn't studying abroad/doing extracurriculars. For Poppysong, her trip to The North (Kitakami), alongside her fear of Darkwing solidifies this. I'm still kinda building the worlds, so bear with me.

Here’s my observations of 1x03 - Brigade of my beloved, The Bear!!

When Carm’s at the beach, there’s a “let it rip, Buddy” which I’m pretty sure is our very first let it rip

Carm takes “the chemistry needs to change” and “just try to keep my side of the street clean” and absorbs it

I think I’ve counted 4 pepto and tums stashes? The office, the bathroom, the locker room, and his bedroom

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Carm sleeps with socks on

In the Al-Anon pamphlet, under the DO (as opposed to DON’T) section was “take it easy— tension is harmful”

Manny, Angel, and Marcus are all definitely there before Carm. Marcus said Carmy was early, but he came in at the same time as Syd, so might be able to assume she comes in before him normally

We get to see a little bit of Carm’s purer passion for cooking. Him just deciding to teach Marcus about the plum thing because he has that knowledge to share. The Carm-Marcus mentor relationship is so superior

Also he says Har-EE-bo which threw me off. I always say HARE-ih-bo

Carm starts the French brigade to keep his side of the street clean and change what he can, but there’s also the layer where Carm likes consciously or subconsciously reliving his traumas, but in a situation he has more control over. Carmy is trying to remake New York here, except he’s the Executive Chef, but he’s not going to be overbearing like his Chef was

“Ebra: I was in a brigade once. Tina: What happened? Ebra: Many people died. Tina: See, Jeff? Carmy: It’s gonna be different” is such a good back and forth, Ebra is easily the funniest person here

Carmy parrots, “They keep their side of the street clean,” and you can almost tell he’s been rolling those words over and over in his head all day

We get Ebra’s first “I accept” !!!

After the call from Niko, it’s like Carm either doesn’t hear Richie the first time he asks, “What was that?” Or he just can’t get words to come out of his mouth. Carm’s voice goes kinda small and quiet. Richie asks if he blew a fuse, and I could imagine that’s exactly what it felt like

“I just felt like Michael was alive for a second.” Carm wasn’t there for the funeral, it’s hard to tell how it was long after Mikey died when he moved back from New York, he never grieved with anyone. He knows Michael’s dead, he can say it without a second thought, he jokes with the “I’ll ask him when he’s not dead” in 1x06, but the deepest proof he has is word of mouth. There’s bound to be some part of him that’s in denial about Mikey’s death

He hears, “I want to set this place on fuckin fire,” in his head, same as after the nightmare in 1x08, so did he know about the failing fire suppression stuff? Did Mikey say that to him at some point? Idk this is just a weird quote, some good s1 unreality tho

As Carm runs from wherever he was to out the door, you can hear shit being knocked over behind him, but he doesn’t look back. He’s pretty okay with telling people when something is wrong, but actually having them be there for him is a different story. The second he crosses the threshold into panic, he bolts, so no one can see it. When he gets off the call with Niko, he never turned around to face Richie and just waited until Richie walked out before he let himself press a hand into his chest and sit down

No matter how pissed Tina is with Syd, she’ll still ask, “What happened? Let me see” when she cuts her finger <3

Tina goes up to Sweeps and Marcus who both have the blue aprons and there’s such a good bit I forgot about, “Tina: You two look like you joined a dumbass cult. Sweeps and Marcus in unison: Thank you”

Another good Ebra bit: “Syd: Well, it’s not good, so Ebra: You betrayed me!”

When Syd goes out front looking for her onions, Richie is talking to Crooked John from 1x06 !!!

There’s a bench outside no one ever seems to use after this (that I’ve noticed), but I guess whenever we see someone go out back, they’re probably either nervously pacing (Carm) or too sad to feel like they deserve a bench (Marcus)

Even after the hellish half day she just had, it takes a little prompting from Carmy to open up about it, and when she does, it feels almost straightforward, I told you this would be bad, you didn’t listen to me, and that isn’t the job I came for, you suddenly gave me this responsibility then left, and it didn’t go well, etc. She also gains a little bit of revenge by fucking with Carmy and lightening the mood. She may not be super comfortable with explaining this stuff to others, but she seems to have a good bit of emotional intelligence (especially compared to Carm) to pinpoint everything that bothered her

And after all that, Carmy snuck out again at sunset to go to the beach and feel painful emotions about it being Mikey’s birthday

I think the first 2 eps introduced external and internal conflict respectively, so now, we could start getting into some recurring stuff. It starts planting the seeds for the season 2 Carmy ditching the restaurant for what he thinks will be healthier arc. And Syd gets her shit rocked, and that’s so rude because she deserves the world

Gaia energy, as I put it last time, may feed on your negative energy, but it uses that to "Control" you. idk if that's even true anymore or if it is true but only for a select few. but what we see here is certainly not that! The Gaia energy is literally just. Feeding off of Shadow's negative energy, aka the negative half of his life force. There's a reason why people always feel fatigued when the Dark Gaia energy within them has left, and it's because the energy is feeding off of their energy and thus draining their life force. Don't believe me? Think back to your middleschool science class. (I'm not trying to be sarcastic here. Sorry bout that!)

Thus, what's happening to Shadow is literally just the Gaia energy replacing his regular negative life force, at least until that original energy has been completely consumed. What Shadow's saying here... They're his own thoughts. His own feelings and emotions. Shadow is tired, man. And he just wants everything to be over and done with. And the immense negativity in the air isn't helping. So he's just accidentally let the door open for all that bad energy to sneak in and steal his own energy, which is why Shadow's seemingly smoldering when yelling at Sonic.

I mean, does this seem like something Dark Gaia would say? "That's making it worse, idiot!" is a response to "It's just easier to keep up the act than admit to having lied to my little brother."

No. It wouldn't. This is completely and wholeheartedly Shadow the Hedgehog speaking to Sonic. And the Blue Blur knows it.

Sonic's breakdown is a window into his own thoughts, obviously, but to me it's something much more than that. Sonic, in the eyes of the public, is a hero. Someone who is sacrificial and supportive to a default. Someone who will never crack even under the heaviest weights in the world. Someone who will always be there to fix the damage someone else has caused. Someone who will reign supreme. Someone who will do whatever it takes to save/fix the world from any evil.

In the eyes of Shadow, Sonic's just a kid looking for love. A kid who is looking for the same respect he gives to the world. A kid who's lost and hasn't yet been found. A kid who's just trying to do what's right.

A martyr.

"Can't really get much worse than this! I have to worry about Tails, G.U.N., getting rid of those monsters... Fixing the emeralds- Fixing the ENTIRE WORLD..."

Sonic feels alone. He has Shadow with him, but at this point, Shadow doesn't even feel like much of an ally and instead more like a... A bodyguard. Made to stand there by his side and make sure he doesn't go berserk. Shadow, to Sonic, must feel like such a fool for thinking about going with his blue counterpart. Because according to the Ultimate Lifeform, Sonic's not doing anything right. He isn't being a hero, like he's supposed to be. The long list of things Sonic has to worry about is full of things he has yet to complete, and piling Shadow's condescending mood on top of that just adds a whole other layer of stress and anxiety that will utterly destroy Sonic if he let alone leans the wrong way.

Sonic doesn't know who he is or what he's supposed to do right now. He's dealt with the occasional bad guy other than Eggman before, but he's never tangled with a LITERAL GOD, and that confusion on what to do combined with his current state as the Werehog... He just doesn't feel good in his own skin right now.

"You're just tagging along to taunt me, aren't you??"

Sonic doesn't feel like himself. When he's in his normal hedgehog form, it's much easier for him to pretend that everything is fine and that he is fine and he'll fix everything right away! As the Werehog though, it shows all the ugly, dark, grotesque bits of Sonic's mind and mental stability. Everything about the Werehog's design here represents everything that Sonic doesn't want to be:

Tired. Vulnerable. Slow. Out of control. Ugly. A monster. Unaproachable. Untrustworthy. Heartless. Exhausted. Not up for the task. Scared. Lonely.

A Monster.

"YOU NEVER CARED ANYWAYS. Shadow the Hedgehog never had a heart."

He's projecting.

Shadow may be weary and exhausted from the energy that Dark Gaia is draining, but this was his whole idea all along. He just wanted Sonic to talk.

All the Diasomnia boys (minus Silver) have dragon wings, Silver has regular feathered wings (so do everyone else)

Jamil's wings were somehow damaged so he can't fly, bc his family sucks and also he would most definitely try or have tried flying away (they can't have that ig)

Riddle can't fly very well because his mom didn't teach him (rude tbh)

Octavinelle all have artificial wings, they're mostly for show/to fit it though. They can use them to fly, but don't really know how and/or are afraid to.

Silver curled himself deeper into his wings, the soft white and black plumage tickling at his nose. He sniffled and sneezed, eyes opening slightly.

Lilia was staring down at him, and he yelped in surprise.

“Morning, sleepy-head.” Lilia chirped, “I can’t say it’s my favorite time of day, but I made breakfast!”

Silver groaned softly, sitting up, “What time is it?”

“Four am!” Lilia said. He leaned back and stretched, his bat like wings speading with him. “I made pancakes with chicken!” He cheered.

Silver blinked. It didn’t sound bad, but he knew it would be. “What else did you add?”

“Strawberries and seaweed!” He said coming over. He pressed a kiss to his son’s head, “Now come on, before it gets cold, and we can begin training again.”

Silver groaned, but was cut off by the booming voice of Sebek and the sudden view of green, scaly wings in his doorway, “DON’T DISRESPECT MASTER LILIA IN SUCH A WAY!”

“It’s four am.” Silver argued.

“MASTER LILIA GRACIOUSLY MADE YOU BREAKFAST AND YOU GROAN?”

“Dude, shut up.” Silver said, finally getting up, “You don’t like to eat his cooking either.”

A servant is bound to their master through various methods. Money, convention, chains. Jamil looked over his clipped wings again, reminiscing on the days when he was far younger, then days he and Kalim could fly. Before he was punished and reminded of his place beneath him. Before he learned to hate Kalim.

Jamil fanned at the stoved, frowning at Kalim’s most recent failed attempt at cooking. The fire was soon put out - Jamil’s wings were undoubtedly powerful, despite them being clipped. They moved fast, the feathers of red and orange and blue covered in a thick layer of brown henna, standing their color.

“You cannot outshine Kalim.” He reminded himself every week when he had to reapply the dye, “Know your place, Jamil.”

When asked, you might think nothing was wrong.

“I simply prefer to walk.” Was something he said often. Vargas seemed to make concessions for Jamil, sending him on an errand conveniently at the beginning of any flight training and not commenting on how Jamil wouldn’t return until the class was almost over. Who would question the coach on that?

Few people knew about Jamil’s condition. It was considered barbaric - cutting or clipping someone’s wings was considered a hate crime in most places, something irreversibly horrible. It wasn’t something to be ignored. Especially not when people ask questions.

The last time Jamil answered honestly, the last time he let someone know, he’d nearly had his wings cut off all together as punishment. It besmirched his name, and worse, if someone found out the reason it happened was for Kalim…

“You cannot outshine Kalim.” He said, “And you cannot ruin his name.”

Riddle can't fly very well because his mom didn't teach him (rude tbh)

Riddle looked down from the ledge, nervously latching eyes with Vargas.

“Rosehearts, c’mon. You’re Easton’ precious time, just jump and fly across the field.”

The second year class stared curiously at the normally proud dorm leader.

It wasn’t too far from the ground - at least, not to someone who knew more. But Riddle’s wings were small, even for his age, and seemed more like a grand accessory than a body part. They puffed. He stepped back, frowning and shaking his head.

“I’m sorry, Coach Vargas, I can’t.”

A sigh of disappointment escaped Vargas, and Riddle winced. He stepped back from the ledge.

His chest heaved and he closed his eyes as he slipped behind a wall. He covered his face with his hands, rubbing at his eyes. He wrapped his wings close, finding no warmth gained.

He stayed like that for a while, ignoring the shouts of other students and even Vargas trying to get his attention.

They stopped after a while. He turned to find the class gone, and began to panic near immediately. Would he get a 0 for this? What would happen? Would he get detention? What if they tell his moth-

He felt a gentle hand clasping his shoulder, then moving down to rub his back in soothing circles. This was followed by a boisterous voice and the smell of sweat. He jolted, turning to look.

Vargas was standing in front of him, with Jade at his side. The second year gave him a soft smile and a courteous nod.

“Rosehearts.” Vargas addressed him. Riddle flinched again, and Vargas raised his eyebrows. He coughed, then said softer, “Sorry. Rosehearts, since you’re having a bit of trouble with flying, and Leech is as well, I’ve decided that you two will be taking private lessons with me after classes every day until you can do that test. Since this was your last class, we can start now.”

Riddle stares, wide eyed. “You…you’re going to teach me?”

“Tutor.” Vargas corrected, “Both of you. Frankly, you’re both abysmal at it right now. And remember, I’m taking time out of my busy schedule just to help you. No turning back now!” He grinned, gently patting Riddle on the shoulder.

“Let’s get started. Since you two seem so nervous,” Vargas grinned, turning to Jade, “We can start at a lower level. C’mon, let’s get flying boys!”

Azul stared at the giant three boxes sitting on the desk in his VIP room.

Idia shifted from foot to foot, watching him intently, “Well?! Are you gonna open it?” He blurted, then immediately looked like he wanted to sink in a hole.

Floyd grinned and laughed, reaching forward to take his box. Sliding the lid off of it, he was greeted with sleek, translucent wings that looked less like a birds and more like an insects.

Idia gulped and began to stutter an explanation. “Y-you asked for something interesting, so I studied flying fish in order to understand how they fly best. Th-these should fly just as well as organic wings, but they’re modeled after the m-modified fins of flying cod…” he said.

Floyd grinned even wider, “Fuckin’ dope as hell. Thanks a million firefly squid.” He said, letting out a delighted giggle. He turned, slipping on the wings to try them out. They fused to his back magically, and he let out an experimental flutter. “Hell yeah.” He said.

Jade opened his box next, being met with simple feathered wings in soft, slate grey with dark, dirt brown around the tips of them. He tilted his head, holding back a smile at the sight.

“You said you w-wanted an unassuming set of wings,” Idia began, “Statistically speaking, p-people tend to find neutral colors, other than blacks and whites to be s-soothing or unremarkable.” He gulped.

“Modeled after a finch’s wings, yes?” Jade said, running his hands over the feathers. “Your craftsmanship and attention to detail is commendable.”

“Thanks.” Idia whispered, then mumbled something to himself. He fidgeted with his hands before turning to Azul.

Azul, noticing his eyes, shot him a charming little smile before opening the box.

In his box laid a pair of large, sweeping wings, then when untucked would undoubtedly be near as tall as Azul himself. He looked back to Idia, quirking an eyebrow.

Idia began to relax, leaning forward, “I based the wing patterns of the bleeding heart pigeon, but you said you try and keep a distinct figure, so I made sure they were long. If they’re too long, I can always adjust them to the right length, I kind of had to guess with Ortho hovering near your height. Anyway,” he continued, running his own fingers across the feathers, “They have a shiny, blue-green color that I thought would match your dorm uniform, and some striping for intrigue.” He said. He looked up and grinned at Azul, who was smiling silently at him.

Idia gulped, retracting his hand, “If you don’t like them, I can-“

“I love them.” Azul said earnestly, “You did an excellent job. Your side of the deal is nearly finished,” he said. He lifted the pair, then slipped them on. Just like with Floyd’s, they quickly fused to his back and he turned, extending them slightly. He smiled. “I’ll have that file for you by tomorrow night. A deal’s a deal.”

Savanaclaw

I only added Savanaclaw due to the large beastman population. I don’t think they would have wings - naturally or artificially, for one specific reason.

They are creatures of the land. Born to run and stalk and hunt, not to fly. The merfolk of the sea might be content to galavant in the skies, or at least pretend they are, but beastmen have no such inclination.

Leona may have an artificial pair at home for political reasons, but it’s not something he would ever use.

It’s not as though they’re afraid, either. Broomsticks and magic carpets do exist still, and they aren’t afraid to use them, but it simply feels so unnatural to use wings in particular. It throws off the body weight, it’s annoyingly loud, and the skies always have at least five freshman thinking they own it, bumping into others and divebombing their pranks.

Pomefiore

Vil’s wings are reminiscent of the rainbow crow. Every movement and shiver, every time they puff, it looks iridescent. It changes from black to red, orange, green, pink, purple, and every color in between.

And yet still, despite the magnificence…

Every role is for a figure shrouded in darkness. A villain or a fiend, plotting and cursing at the sun. Every child in town coward away from him, whispering his name. Every time he wanted to play as a kid, the others turned their backs to him. Most of his memories of that time were of beautiful blush pink or soft grey or mottled brown or periwinkle blue wings, turned toward him as others said his name in hushed tones.

He preens at his feathers idly, fixing the few what wee slightly out of place, plucking those that were loose. He gazed at his wings disdainfully. They were soft, and fluffy, and contained very color he envied as a child, except for one.

No matter the years, black wings were still seen as evil. Every villain had them in every good story, and ever hero had lighter colored ones. Maybe they were a butter yellow or a soft silver or maybe a mix of colors. In any of Vil’s films, though, they were pearly white with grey tips.

It as perfect symmetry, wasn’t it? This idea of black and white, good and evil. Vil Schoenheit, destined to play a villain forever, and Neige Leblanche, the hero, the saint, the innocent.

Vil plucked a feather, glaring at it. He sighed, then dropped it. There were always potions to change it’s color. He could always cut them, and get artificial ones. He could change himself, fit every mirror image. Oil black feathers fell from his hands. He turned, walking silently away from the pile of them. He didn’t care to see how they would drift away in the breeze, or the way a child might gawk and cry in panic at the sight. It was simply too much to think about.

Hi, it's Secret Identity!Alastor AU anon again because I really love talking about Alastor potential that I know the real show will never showcase satisfyingly:

I basically just thought, why not let The Radio Demon & Alastor identity dichotomy be a little more Wizard of Oz & Oscar Diggs yanno? While no, he isn't powerless and could still theoretically still punch above his weight class, he wouldn't do so without great risk, and would generally go to great lengths to reduce the risk while maximizing the gains. Less raw power, more tricks, strategies and staging, every trick in his playbook is one he knows how to use well and adapt on the fly. A balancing act on a knife's edge. The Radio Demon would sorta be regarded as kinda like, either the guy that can help you out for a price or the roving boss fight that's gonna bulldoze you hard (sometimes because you pissed him off, sometimes because you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, could be anything for all the public knows), but until you're there in the moment you have No Idea what The Radio Demon's whims or intentions are towards you, and your best hope is to just avoid them, if you can.

Another thing about animal survival strats, is how lots of animals (prey and predator alike) will make themselves look bigger than they really are to discourage and ward off predators from trying anything funny, same concept with Alastor building up the Radio Demon's reputation and legend. The Radio Demon, terrifying, mysterious and untouchable, a voice on the airwaves, a half-remembered song, either your salvation or your doom. Kinda like fae rules in a way or something? Not to muddy the lore, no actual fae stuff, just the metaphor. Less Black and White morality and more Blue and Orange nuanced personal codes that make no sense but to the person themself pls lmao.

Also idk, I saw a post that mentioned that Alastor would've been better suited as a Peryton (a maneating bird-deer monster, even though it was made in 1957) instead of a closed-culture thing. He doesn't need wings either, designwise as to not infringe on Husk's silhouette, maybe he lost them as a result from a injury from an old fight? He's probably had plenty of those and not all of them were winners, he's made mistakes despite his best efforts probably, he could theoretically be hiding whatever's left of them under his jacket with padding and magic, similarly to how people headcanon he hides his tail with his jacket. Like... He's been in hell a while, and was involved and present for a great/relatively long upheaval of Hell's sinner's power structure, and if he's not untouchable, that means he's got the scars to prove it (and the ones that gave them are, probably no longer around). Idk, I could see that his allying with Charlie & her hotel project (and thus by proxy, Hell's Ruling Family, even if Charlie is having some issues with her dad, she's still Lucifer's daughter ffs) works twofold as building up the Radio Demon's mythos more, shooting for the moon, and Alastor trying to get a little more security for himself, some breathing room from something perhaps? Or who knows, maybe he's just actually tired (he wouldn't show it or spin it like that however).

Also, even though I know Alastor is in hell for a reason obviously, but I remember when the 'Day in the Life' comic dropped and I found it interesting that he just kinda, saved that sheep lady just because, no favors or repayment asked either, he just bodies the butcher guy (butchers the butcher) and then walks off. It could be an interesting layer, especially if it was an impulsive spur of the moment thing. Also Charlie & company's limited interactions with The Radio Demon through proxies & the Radio & his broadcast shows, and then a different but still reminiscent regular interactions with Alastor himself and vice versa. And I dunno, maybe it could spin out into something like, Alastor directly interacting more regularly with Radio Demon interests & other people AS HIMSELF while ALSO playing the part of the Radio Demon starts the blur the lines a bit over time.

Alastor doing a lot of this shit in the name of survival and the assurance of security, rather than boredom, could be interesting? Constant state of fight or flight, the stage never ends, maybe this was a mistake. The terrifying ordeal of being known, one of the things that could be called back about the comic but changed, instead of being so known and fear that people flee him on sight, what about Alastor keeping everyone at arm's length unless he's set & planned the scene to a T, usually a fight or a dealmaking or whatever, but would generally keep to himself unless it's Radio Demon business. But with the Hazbin crew, he really doesn't have that option with how it was set up, and now has to play another part he hasn't really played since he died up on Earth, himself (while also playing the Radio Demon in the background). Idk, somethingsomething potential?

An aside thing bc idk where to put it, I kinda like the idea that Sinners are just as mortal as hellborn but with maybe a better wolverine xmen but magic healing factor to keep the stakes of death and fighting in hell an actual threat instead of, 'oh who cares, nobody can really 'die' unless it's 'angel weapons' or dramatic enough.'

Okay this wasn't supposed to be that long but it kept going, and it meandered in even further AU, also like, idk if it's too fuzzy, this ended up being semi-stream of consciousness plot hook/char progression setup practice written at 5am lol.

Definitely love all of this, and I'm super into the idea of Peryton!Alasator because they're incredibly cool and massively underrated, but I've got to throw out the obligatory reminder that Wendigo aren't a closed culture thing. Controversial yes, closed culture no. That said, Vivzie's still full of shit to say "Oh, he's got Wendigo elements!" when she's clearly just latching onto it because Wendigo = spoopy. Man's literally as far as you can get from Wendigo country without standing in the gulf.

Everything else about this? 10/10, good shit.

I'm not very good at sorting my preferences, so I don't think I can do a "top 10" thing either. Here goes:

10 films that I love (in no particular order!)

The One I Love (2014): a troubled couple rents a summer house as part of a couple's therapy experience. The name of the movie in Portuguese is very romcom-y, something like "Complications of Love" so when I saw it on TV I thought it was just a rom-com, and BOY WAS I WRONG! This one is definitely a wild ride and, to this day, I still don't know if I love it or am just really disturbed by it. 

Arrival (2016): aliens arrive on earth and a linguist tries to learn how to communicate with them. This movie is very dear to my heart, not only for the overall quality and amazing turns but because it is a bit of a twist in science fiction. I'm so used to sci-fi movies revolving solely around STEM, it's refreshing to see one centered on human sciences.

Nope (2022): science fiction meets horror meets western. This movie is definitely unique and so well done, from the screenplay to the acting and the PHOTOGRAPHY, not to mention the symbolism. As Isabela Boscov said, Nope has as many layers as the viewer (no pun intended) wants to dig for. It's a gift that keeps on giving. I've seen it three times since its release, and I'm ready for a fourth.

Interstellar (2014): eye-opening, mind-blowing, heart-shattering. Time really is relative because these three hours feel like mere minutes! 

Bridget Jones's Diary (2001): I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy, and Bridget Jones's Diary has the best elements of the genre: a relatable protagonist? Check! Compelling plot (pride and prejudice retelling)? Check! Ridiculous moments? Check! The movie is FUN like few are. 

Peter Pan (2003): this is a childhood favorite. I watched this version of Peter Pan every day for like a year when I was younger. I used to dream about leaving everything behind and going to Neverland, swimming in an ocean of stars (escapism much?)

The Pacifier (2005): Another childhood film! Vin Diesel, a US Navy Agent, is assigned to protect (read: babysit) the children of a government scientist. I don't have an explanation for this, except for IT'S FUN! I rented the DVD at least 20 times! 

Music and Lyrics (2007): have I mentioned I'm a sucker for romantic comedies? This one has an unusual setting and pairs two actors I really like, Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore, but the best part is the music! I love this soundtrack, especially "PoP! Goes my heart" and "Way Back into Love".

Twilight (2008): I was twelve when I first read the book and watched the movie, and it was my first contact with fandom, so this already makes Twilight very dear to me. But this movie also has such vibes! Whenever it's rainy, I find myself craving that atmosphere, missing the soundtrack and that weird blue filter. Idk, it just takes me back to simpler times.

Pride & Prejudice (2005): such a lovely adaptation! There's something so charming about this movie that makes me want to watch it again whenever I see a gifset on Tumblr (which is pretty often lol).

Some of these are childhood favorites I haven't seen in a while, so I don't know how well they hold up today.

Favorite Color?

I'm a sucker for jewel tones, of any kind. My hair is currently mermaid adjacent, with some magenta-pink, teal, teal-blue, blue-purple all kinda up in there. If you're interested? Unicorn was the brand I used. Semi-permanent, layers well. Very pigmented, so you can get intense color by just painting it on your hair, OR blend it in w basic bitch conditioner for a pastel variant.

Favorite Food?

It's hard to choose any one. I've had a lot of realllllly great food in my life, but? A forever fave is definitely gado gado. It's Balinese. Steamed vegetables, tempeh, rice, fried FRESH tofu, served with a flavorful, spicy peanut sauce.

Sweet/Spicy/Savory?

It...depends? Sweet & Spicy? Korean bbq wings. Yes, please. That. Just Spicy? Spicy Miso Ramen, or Thai Curry. The only one that I can't really do is Savory. I'm extremely sensitive to salt.

Last Thing I Googled?

I was double checking the og Buffy series air dates, bc I wanted to check my memory before declaring that yeah, Peter Hale totally would have been the right age demo to be super into it.

Currently Reading?

Endless fic. Nerve pain flare ups in my hands make holding my books unpleasant, sadly. So, I tend to consume fic via primarily podfic. I have too many reccs for this ask, so I'll save that for if anyone asks.

I do read text versions too, but holding my phone can sometimes be a lot when my hands are hurty, so. Before my hands got really bad, though, I was reading my hefty anniversary edition of "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman.

I was up, wanted to watch something, and am not the type to pan a movie based on movie bros' Strong Opinions tm tm. It was...I mean? Initial Thoughts on the OPLA: Ep 2

I’ve just reread the manga through the East Blue + rewatched the anime through Orange Town with my sister (a coincidence on that one), so I’ve got the story really fresh on my mind and want to record my initial impressions on what works and what doesn’t. On to ep 2!

The Good

The big circus tent is a killer setting for most of this episode. It’s so dramatic, so “flashy.” The right amount of eerie and camp.

Some great adaptational changes in this episode. Love the way they integrated the people of Orange Town. We don’t have time for Mayor Boodle to spell out their troubles, but we can see what they’ve been reduced to and root for them without giving them too much mindshare. The change to Cabaji’s story was great. So glad we’re not going to give all the goons their fights and slow down the pace of the episode. The writers did a great job finding ways for Nami and Zoro to contribute without 1 v 1s and in drawing out the nuances of their characters (e.g., Nami’s devastation at townspeople suffering at the hands of pirates)

The way the flashbacks are woven throughout this episode worked even better than in ep 1. They never took away from the action because they were so thematically intertwined.

Jeff Ward is outstanding as Buggy. While watching I said, “that man must have a theater background” and he absolutely does. He just chews the scenery up. It’s delicious to watch. And his chop chop powers look great too. No notes!

Luffy eating the map of the Grand Line. It’s so silly! It’s so One Piece!

Emily Rudd continues to deliver as Nami. I think of the 3 Straw Hats so far, she’s giving the most layered portrayal.

The Red Hair pirates look great. Their fight was one of the highlights of the episode for me. They have a great chemistry. Peter Gadiot took some time to grow on me as Shanks, but I’m more and more convinced.

The Meh

Some of the torture sequences drag a bit. They never feel out of place exactly, but I got a wee bit bored. The risk of sticking to one setting for most of the episode and breaking it up with flashbacks.

The Ugly

Listen, I’m glad we didn’t get the Shanks/Buggy flashback. But unless Buggy returns later in the story, what we have is a character telling us Shanks is a betrayer, he did terrible things, he’s a bad man, and then no explanation of what that entails. Obviously, we draw the conclusion Buggy is wrong because we see that juxtaposed against how kind he is to Luffy, but new audiences must assume Shanks has a dark past or something. Feels like a loose end.

Continue to be deeply unimpressed with this depiction of Garp (though I do like the way he questions Coby’s loyalties)

Zoro claiming Luffy’s inspired him to Cabaji makes zero sense. Completely unearned. If you’re not going to have him moved in Shellstown, you need to give him a different moment to be inspired by, and nothing happened in between to change Zoro’s mind. Maybe he was just talking to distract Cabaji? Idk just unearned

Withholding judgment for the Time Being

Zoro continues to be a very angsty boy. I would like to see him laugh at Luffy’s antics, ease in a little bit. Withholding judgment as this could be a very rewarding longer arc to bring him to the character we know and love or it could be an over-committal to the “cool” side of the character, that I’ll find ultimately disappointing

of course ! this can get quite convoluted so i’ll try to keep things as simple as i can but, it did get quite lenghty so i put it under the squiggle

coloring, which is just shorthand for color correcting/grading, is the process of altering the colors of whatever source material you’re working with in post ; I’d say it accounts for maybe.. 50 to 75% of the final visual impact of the gif so it’s quite an important step but it’s an art more than a science so every cc color corrects in their own way and because of that, there are no definitive answers to your questions because there is no right or wrong way to grade or even light a scene (unless you’re perpetrating racial discrimination lol), it just depends on what end result you’re trying to achieve ! but i will offer my personal perspective and hope it's helpful to you ^^

so what is good and bad lighting... yk i wish i could say smth simple like "i like natural lighting better than studio lights" but thing is, sometimes you have the potential for great lighting but because the camera settings weren't properly adjusted, you get mad overexposure or super high contrast or whatever it is, the two are codependent so really my answer would be that i like when the footage i'm using was shot in log with little to no alteration because no matter what the lighting was, i should have enough data to get me where i want to be. but that's hardly ever the case, and that's what makes color grading often a lot harder for gif makers, is that we have to work on top of however many layers of destructive alterations the footage went thru before getting to us

that being said, i hate a color cast they’re a pain to correct properly. which brings us to our current case in point, the cursed 230714 mubank stage. this is a raw screengrab from the file after encoding

as you can see it's VERY pink, the color balance is all wrong, if you look at the robe you can tell the blacks are way too red and the highlights in his face are unnaturally pinkish, and yes that stems from the fact that they were using red and white overhead lights for this stage but also, i think i can safely say it probably got exasperated in post, on top of the skin smoothing filters they use but that's a whole other can of worms x_x it's also a lot of contrast to start with and it's slightly overexposed

btw i should say that i like well lit neutral tones, i don't like when things are too warm, too cool, too saturated, too contrasty or too dark, ideally i want my gifs to look as if you were watching the thing irl with your own two eyes, that's what i'm aiming for when coloring. again, to someone who doesn't mind smth a bit more stylized, this probably wouldn't be a big deal but to me, that's bad lighting and bad postprod

so how do you go abt fixing it? well, beats me ! i've tried a few different things and it's nearly impossible to readjust the balance to restore the flesh tones to smth more natural.. here's the first coloring i did, in split so you can compare better

i don't like it because it's too bright still, colors are way too saturated, there's too much cyan to counteract the pinks and his skin looks too yellow to my liking

i like the overall balance a lot more in this one but the highlights are still way too yellow but i can't neutralize them without having the whole thing turn blue i was working on a third attempt but ps crashed and i don't feel like troubleshooting anymore ><

So, Color Theory.

Color is wild and I'm not an expert buut, I did take a class a while ago on it and I'd like to think I've gotten to the point where I can use color to to acheve a certain vibe when I'm styling an outfit.

Idk if yall have noticed, but a I tend to use a lot of similar colors when I plan outfits, especially when it comes to things in my wardrobe. This is on purpose. I've paid attention to which colors I tend to gravitate to when shopping, and in real life and using what I know about myself I've been able to come up with a color palette that I like and can style outfits around.

In the past few years, I've found that I personally vibe with neutrals and pastels, and a lot of the time that leads me towards the more feminine clothes, which suits my taste just fine. Even though I know what colors I like, my wardrobe is filled regular pieces in two staple colors, black and white. These colors are a good way to break up a busy outfit and give the eye a place to rest, but too much can easily change the vibe of an outfit so be aware.

This idea of being proportional with color is one that I use a lot. Take my outfit Soda Pop for example:

This outfit is edgy and chic, but why?

First off, you got the contrast from black and white, back taking up most of the color ratio. The difference is already sharp, and good color placement on the garments themselves make it so that its inclusions highlights details that might otherwise have gone unnoticed (ex: the white seams on the pants)

Now, notice that the only color here is coming from the accessories. We could have just continued the black and white theme with the accessories (and that could have slapped too dont get me wrong) buuut throwing the smallest hints of orange in a few places around the fit is such a big brained move. This is cause now you not only have contrast between Light and Dark but also you've got this extra layer of Color Saturation to play with. Those accessories could be any color as long as they a) were vibrant as heck and

b) showed up more than once/or included a bit of white or black to tie it in with the rest of the fit.

An outfit that does the opposite of this is Stay Frosty:

This outfit also only has 3 colors (4 if you count gold) but the vibes of this one are a lot softer than Soda Pop, and that's partially because palette shift.

The use of black is majorly toned down here and is only really found in the shoes and the necklace as an accent. The primary colors here are white and a dark blue, and the way they come across are actually quite different as well.

First of all, we have some blending happening with the introduction of grey, both on the sweater and in the plaid on the skirt. Opening up this middle zone makes the palette seem a lot softer because there is less contrast between tones, and what contrast there is, is lessened in a gradient.

Secondly, and I'm going to nitpick here: that white is not actually white. It's an off-white grey, one that compliments well with the off-white in the plaid design. The color is pastel, and is less vibrant than a true bone-white, adding to the soft girl vibe by toning down the vibrancy of our main color.

An easy way to seem more put together is to pay attention to the undertones in your clothes, especially your neutrals. Using a warm toned white in an otherwise cool toned fit throws the vibe. It'll be subtle, but once you start noticing I stg it's so hard to go back. I have a cute cardigan that's a victim of this rn cause it's a an off-white with and undertone of *warm green* and it clashes with most of my wardrobe because I'm a cool toned green gal.

So yeah, color theory. It's all about how much you want to contrast your darks, lights and color vibrancy. It's also about finding colors that compliment eachother, but I'll post on that later, this ones long enough.

i dont have a good excuse for why this is blue/purple instead of cream coloured other than Artistic Vision and also just completing failing to absorb what the colour of the palace was until i'd already doodled. legit tho Cherry sent me the draft for chapter one and i blacked out and this appeared in my sketchbook. irl it's like as tall as my thumb so i'm not surprised its so messy lmao

for the main piece tho-- oooooh that one was so so fun. I don't usually work with vector layers or, yknow, any stained glass-esque styles, so this was a fun step outside my comfort zone! It's basically exactly as I first imagined it if you don't count the curtains (which were a late-game design. you can tell because they're so messy and the clock is unrefined. the general rule of thumb with my art is the more over-painted it looks the later in the painting it was added lmao)

honestly idk if i like Bdubs' expression or the melting wax more, so those tie for my favourite parts. If I had to change anything I'd definitely have told past-me to actually, yknow, account for the fact that you need to add curtain size to actually capture the desired vibes, and then maybe the curtains would look less like taffy pulled and folded too many times, but what can ya do. it's not like taffy-pulled anything in my art has stopped me before.

(vector layers are god's gift to artists tho holy shit. i never use them because i rarely want a clean-lined look, but oh my goodness when i do,,,, vector layers my Beloved)

we're going to say that bdubs' hands are the most important and thats why is are the most detailed because of SYMBOLISM and not just because i got tired of drawing hands. it's both tho.i
