My Y/N (Female Farmer) x Harvey Fanfic Just Hit 20 Chapters, Here Are My Harvey/SDV Headcanons:
IB: @pierperian-leisure's post on dating harvey headcanons (some of them are so similar to what I pictured when I started this FF, I just love that we all have the same Harvey in our head and hearts ๐Ÿฅฐ)
For reference: The fanfic is called You Hate Harvey, a silly hate to love story full of banter and tension.
โˆ™ Harvey's anxiety displays in different ways. Sometimes he is the stuttering/blushing version you see in SDV, sometimes he is grumpy and speaking condescendingly when you've put yourself in danger. When Harvey panics, it is freeze first, flight second, and lastly, occasionally, mostly with you, fight.
โˆ™ Though he can maintain a solid bedside manner with all his other patients, Harvey doesn't hide his emotions very well from you. If he's irritated, he's pinching the bridge of his nose. If he's nervous, he's wiping his glasses on his shirt. If he's frustrated (sexually, more often than not) he his shoving a fist into the messy volume of his hair.
โˆ™ Elliott is the best friend Harvey has ever had. They're very different on paper, but as a writer Elliott brings an empathetic energy that equips him to understand Harvey better than anyone ever has before. For that reason, Harvey can accept the bolder parts of Elliott's personality that draw more public attention than he's typically comfortable with.
โˆ™ In the bedroom and the clinic alike, Harvey just wants to take care of you. He's very much a giver, and his favorite thing is to put his medical degree to good use and employ his anatomical knowledge for your pleasure. Before you even first got together, he secretly fantasized all the ways he could kiss and make it better.
โˆ™ Harvey was terrified of you when he first met you, fearing how much he wanted to be with you. But his second, and most secret, fear was that he would never get what he wanted most and would someday have to watch you settle down with another eligible bachelor. Sometimes he convinces himself you would be better off in that instance. Even after you're together, seeing how much the other bachelors equally admire you will occasionally fuel the self-deprecating thoughts in his head.
โˆ™ Harvey had his heart broken in college when, as she left him, his girlfriend insulted his mustache. Since then, he always wondered if he would ever find someone who accepts him for all he is.
โˆ™ Harvey's parents died from a car accident when he was young. It's why he cares so deeply about your safety and has nightmares about losing you, another person he loves.
โˆ™ Though it was initially traumatic, the hospital visit incited his interest in medicine.
โˆ™After they passed, Harvey was raised by his grandparents. For that reason, Harvey has a soft spot for George (even when he's yelling at him in an appointment.)
โˆ™ Harvey's grandfather was a pilot back in the day, and the reason why Harvey still loves planes so much and once contemplated following in his footsteps.
โˆ™ When Harvey drinks too much at the saloon, he lets loose and all his inhibitions slide away and he's all about sneaky PDA. He'll undo his tie, unbutton his shirt a little, and try and get away with sliding a hand up your thigh. Or, he'll motion for you to follow him into the barrel room.
โˆ™ Though Harvey tried to keep your budding romance a secret, Maru immediately suspected something had changed when he would throw his office door open the moment he heard a voice in the lobby to ask if it was you. He would also hum as he worked. A lot.
โˆ™ Harvey and your grandfather were close, as he reminded him in a way of his own grandpa. He would often go over to the farm and play cards to keep him company. During these visits, your grandfather would talk about you often, showing him photos of you in university and at your big corporate job in Zuzu City. Even then, knowing so little about you and never imagining he'd ever meet you, Harvey started to develop a bit of a crush.
โˆ™ Harvey secretly has a very impressive singing voice. It was strengthened over years of listening to jazz albums in medical school, subtly singing along and emulating the crooner's voices as he studied. The only person who has heard him sing is Elliott, and it was after so much wine the writer barely remembers it.
โˆ™ When Harvey is feeling full-hearted, he gives off giddy golden retriever-energy. His smile becomes boyish, he freely jokes around and messes with you, and he is very physically affectionate.
โˆ™ It may be Elliott's influence, but Harvey can be very articulate on his devotion to you... it's just a shame that for so long, those expressions of ardent admiration were simmering under the surface, cloaked completely by his nervously-blurted blunders.
Some of these have been covered in the story already, some of them are yet to be uncovered.
What do you think?

Itโ€™s just so awesome that a common condition like IBS is not even treated as โ€œreal illnessโ€ let alone as a disability by doctors. Like. No I just had one of the most painful and humbling days of my life. I actually passed out from the pain and I thankfully was lucky to have loved ones in the house to bring me to but none of this is eligible to be considered a proper chronic illness or a disability no of course not. I am expected to just go on like nothing is wrong and โ€œstress lessโ€. Good good ๐Ÿ‘

Every 6 months or so, I get a cortisone shot (I call it my butt shot) right in my ass && it helps me not feel like I'm being atomized from the inside. Today I got that shot again.
Now that it's kicked in, I have a hell of a lot more spoons to talk about the ordeal.
Before getting the proverbial butt shot, I enter this state of "what's wrong with me" limbo, where a lot of symptoms are happening all at once. Fatigue so bad I either sleep for 12-16 hours or stay up all night no in-between, clinical/seasonal depression, achy and poppy joints, stiffness of said joints, I crave specific foods (primarily sweet or salty foods), said foods flare up my IBS and make me nauseous/diarrheic. For a while, every morning is dramamine and tylenol until it reaches critical mass, where if I don't have a heating pad on me at all times I feel like my joints are being pulled apart slowly, agonizingly, in the wrong directions. It's at its worst on my right hip, where the joint is misaligned that several doctors have told me I need to get realignment surgery. Hence the name, butt shot.
Then, I get the shot. Mind you I swear these shots didn't hurt as bad first thing like 4 years ago. Maybe the dose here is just more powerful or my ass is more sensitive; I dunno. But anyways, the shot hurts for like 10 minutes then my body circulates the cortisone and I start to feel instantly better. It feels like the colour rushes back to my face, my joints don't creak and pop harshly, and like 90% of the symptoms disappear for 3-6 months, then the cycle repeats itself.
Next time I need to get this shot, I'm gonna to do a blood test before && after getting the cortisone shot because I suspect I have something called Addison's disease or hypocorticoidism. I'm not gonna say I have it but I can't doubt that there's something definitely wrong with my hormones. I'm mainly writing this to remind myself when the time comes, but I need to test my sodium, potassium, cortisol levels, && also have a test called adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). Also really need to figure out what my blood type is because not knowing it off the top of my head at this point is asking for trouble.
I'm standing in front of the long road of diagnosis once again. But it'll be worth it to feel just even a little bit better. Being eligible for social security will definitely help, so long as Mexico isn't weird about a 27 y/o cripple. I'll write about it if it does happen, but so far everyone just treats me nicely because I can tell their understanding of autism is more "this person is mentally challenged, do not provoke" than anything else.
Like a blind friend of mine said on Facebook, "The expectations for people with disabilities in Mexico are very low. Or they expect you to just get over it and act like nothing is wrong. Accessibility is a very new thing to Hispanic culture [and living with a] disability in Mexico pretty much means you're a beggar or a shut-in with family." The latter is unfortunately my truth, it's not intentional, but it is something that does affect me ever so slightly.
Anyways, I've gone on long enough and I have some new skeins of yarn to roll into balls.

Tumblr media
Becoming a government intelligence officer in India is an attractive career option for many due to the prestigious role, challenging responsibilities, and contribution to national security. The intelligence agencies in India such as the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) offer varied opportunities. However, each organization has specific recruitment criteria and demands different skill sets.
Hereโ€™s a comprehensive guide to understanding the role of these agencies and how to join them:
1. Intelligence Bureau (IB)
The Intelligence Bureau is India's domestic intelligence and counter-intelligence agency. IB officers work to gather internal intelligence, monitor suspicious activities, and protect national security.

Educational Qualification: A bachelor's degree in any discipline is generally required. Graduates in disciplines like political science, law, or international relations may have an edge.
Age Limit: Typically, candidates between 20 to 27 years are eligible, with age relaxations for certain categories.
Selection Process:
The recruitment for IB officers is usually done through Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) examinations conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The selection process involves a written test followed by an interview and background check.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Proficiency in data analysis, risk assessment, and strong decision-making abilities.
Investigating potential threats, gathering intelligence, and ensuring the internal security of India.
2. Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
The CID is a state-level investigative agency under the state police force. CID officers specialize in criminal investigations, especially complex cases like frauds, murders, and other serious offenses.
Eligibility and Recruitment:
Educational Qualification: A degree in criminology, law, or forensic science can be helpful, but a bachelor's degree in any field is generally required.
Selection Process:
CID officers are recruited through the State Public Service Commission (PSC), SSC CGL exam, or are promoted from within the police force.
For higher positions like Sub-Inspector or Inspector, candidates need to clear competitive exams followed by physical tests and interviews.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Conducting in-depth investigations, handling forensic evidence, and collaborating with other agencies to solve crimes.
Sharp observational and analytical skills with an eye for detail are essential.
Tumblr media
3. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier investigative agency in India that handles corruption, high-profile crimes, and national-level investigations.
Eligibility and Recruitment:
Educational Qualification: A bachelorโ€™s degree in law, criminology, or any other relevant field is preferred.
Selection Process:
CBI officers are typically recruited through the SSC CGL examination, especially for Sub-Inspector positions.
Higher-level officers like Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) are recruited from the Indian Police Service (IPS).
The process involves clearing written exams, followed by physical and interview stages.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Investigating high-profile cases involving financial frauds, serious crimes, and corruption.
Requires a keen sense of justice, logical reasoning, and the ability to handle pressure.
4. Enforcement Directorate (ED)
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is a specialized financial investigative agency responsible for enforcing economic laws and fighting financial crimes like money laundering.
Eligibility and Recruitment:
Educational Qualification: A background in finance, accounting, or law can be helpful. A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement.
Selection Process:
ED officers are recruited primarily from the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and other civil services.
The recruitment process usually starts with clearing the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Officers can also be deputed from other government organizations.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Investigating money laundering, illegal foreign exchange transactions, and financial crimes.
Excellent knowledge of economic laws, accounting, and forensic auditing is required.
Tumblr media
5. Research and Analysis Wing (RAW)
Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is Indiaโ€™s external intelligence agency responsible for foreign intelligence gathering, counter-terrorism, and ensuring national security from external threats.
Eligibility and Recruitment:
Educational Qualification: A degree in international relations, political science, or law is often preferred, though a bachelorโ€™s degree in any discipline is acceptable.
Selection Process:
RAW doesn't conduct open recruitment exams. Officers are typically recruited from the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), or Indian Revenue Service (IRS).
The recruitment is through direct appointment or deputation, often from officers serving in other government roles.
Candidates go through an extensive background check and intelligence training.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Collecting and analyzing foreign intelligence, conducting covert operations, and protecting Indiaโ€™s national security interests globally.
Requires strong analytical skills, physical fitness, and the ability to work under intense secrecy.
Conclusion
Each intelligence agency in India offers unique opportunities and challenges. While the IB and CID focus on internal security and criminal investigations, the CBI handles corruption and high-profile cases, the ED enforces economic laws, and RAW deals with external intelligence. Regardless of the agency, becoming a government intelligence officer demands discipline, critical thinking, and a dedication to safeguarding the nation.
Key Steps to Becoming an Intelligence Officer:
Complete Graduation: Most agencies require at least a bachelorโ€™s degree in any discipline.
Prepare for Competitive Exams: Focus on exams like SSC CGL, Civil Services Examination, or respective state exams.
Physical Fitness and Mental Acuity: Intelligence officers need to maintain good physical fitness and possess strong analytical abilities.
Continuous Learning: Keep yourself updated with current national and international affairs, law enforcement techniques, and investigative technologies.
If you're passionate about serving the nation and have the skills to tackle intricate challenges, a career in one of Indiaโ€™s prestigious intelligence agencies might be your calling!
By following the appropriate paths and continuously upgrading your skills, you can build a rewarding and impactful career in intelligence services in India.

California Dreaming: We Need To Talk About California Colleges
Tumblr media
California is a very popular college destination. Most often, the colleges students bring to the conversation are the โ€˜UCsโ€™ or the University of California colleges.
If places like Berkeley, UCLA, or UC San Diego are on your mind, here are three things you need to know about admission to the UCs โ€“ Know whatโ€™s expected & plan ahead The UCs have specific high school course requirements, aligned to the California state requirements. They refer to these as the โ€œA-Gโ€ requirements and youโ€™ll want to make sure that you are planning ahead throughout high school to meet these to be considered as an applicant. Most students who are taking a rigorous program in high school are on track to meet these. The one that we find most catches students off guard is the arts requirement. The UCs require that an applicant has completed two semesters in the same artistic discipline โ€“ dance, music, theater, visual or interdisciplinary arts. The courses can be taken in different years and on different topics (think ceramics and painting) but must be within the same discipline.
Each of the nine undergraduate-serving UC campuses has its own admission review process, and acceptance rate, but they all use the same UC application and a student cannot apply with the Common App. The UCs are transparent about the criteria used to evaluate applicants. You can learn about the 13 points used in the comprehensive review process here and even understand how the UCs calculate GPA and assess the rigor of your classes. Heavy emphasis is placed on strong grades in advanced (AP or IB) coursework in grades 10 and 11. An out of state student with less than an A average in grades 10 and 11, or just a couple of AP or IB courses may find UC admissions to be extremely challenging.
Understand the out of state story As a public university system, UC has a mandate to admit and enroll California residents, with 2021 legislation passed to significantly reduce non-resident enrollment by 2030. Each year, the most competitive campuses such as UCLA, Berkeley, and San Diego are all reducing out of state enrollment. This means each year it is becoming more challenging to gain admission from outside of California. If you view the published non-resident numbers for UC campuses, you will find that the current non-resident enrollment in most cases hovers around or just below 20%. However, these statistics encompass two different populations: out of state US students, and international students. Because international applicants are often expected to be โ€˜full payโ€™ students, the international student population makes up a much larger portion of non-resident enrollment. This means being a US student from outside of California is often the most narrow entry into these popular and competitive institutions that already purport admitted student GPA averages at and above 4.0.
What else to consider Students who are considering University of California schools should make sure they are eligible and solid applicants in the pools for the UC campuses they are applying to. The application is involved and lengthy, so itโ€™s worth identifying several campuses where you will submit to make this application worth your while. Beyond this, consider the California State system; though many of these schools are also quite competitive, several offer higher acceptance rates for out of state students than their UC counterparts. Give serious consideration to private colleges in California too. There are many excellent options at a range of different admissibility levels. As private institutions, some of these will offer merit scholarships that make tuition more affordable.
As always, we encourage students & families to look beyond the sweatshirt โ€˜name brandโ€™ schools to explore the many fantastic colleges that align with your values and offer the opportunities, experiences, and community you seek.

Whatโ€™s New in IBSAT 2024? Latest Changes and Updates
If you're preparing for the IBSAT 2024, staying informed about the latest updates and changes is crucial for effective preparation. The ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT) is one of the most popular entrance exams for MBA and PGPM programs in India, and each year there can be modifications that affect the exam pattern, eligibility criteria, or admission process.
Here are the latest changes and updates you need to know about IBSAT 2024:
1. New Exam Pattern Updates
The basic structure of the IBSAT exam remains similar, but there could be slight adjustments in question distribution or types of questions. As of now, IBSAT 2024 continues to feature 140 questions divided into four sections:
Verbal Ability
Reading Comprehension
Quantitative Ability
Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation
However, keep an eye out for any announcements regarding specific changes in section timing, weightage, or difficulty level. No negative marking continues to be a major advantage in the IBSAT exam.
2. Hybrid Exam Mode
One of the major changes in IBSAT 2024 is the possibility of a hybrid exam format. While the exam is typically conducted online in test centers, the ongoing adaptation to digital platforms might offer an option for students to take the exam from remote locations, depending on circumstances like health guidelines. This hybrid approach, if implemented, would allow more flexibility for test-takers.
3. Extended Application Window
In previous years, the registration process for IBSAT typically ended in the first week of December. For IBSAT 2024, the application deadline may be extended further, allowing more aspirants to apply without the pressure of strict deadlines. Keep checking the official IBSAT website for updates on the exact registration window.
4. Changes in Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for IBSAT 2024 have been slightly updated to offer more flexibility:
Candidates need a minimum of 50% marks in graduation.
Graduates in any discipline from a recognized university are eligible to apply.
There is no upper age limit for candidates, allowing more flexibility for those looking to pursue management education later in their careers.
Additionally, students in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their studies by May 2024.
5. Weightage to Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD-PI)
The GD-PI round continues to hold significant weight in the selection process for IBSAT 2024. While the written exam is crucial for making the initial cut, candidates need to prepare thoroughly for the GD-PI phase, which plays a key role in final selection. Any changes in the format of these rounds, like virtual GD-PI or modifications to evaluation criteria, will be officially announced in due time.
6. Updated Syllabus
For IBSAT 2024, there have been no significant changes in the syllabus. However, the level of difficulty might slightly vary based on the feedback from previous years. It's advisable to stay updated with any minor tweaks to question types or specific areas of focus in the four sections.
7. Expanded Scope of IBSAT 2024
Though primarily aimed at admission to the nine ICFAI Business Schools (IBS), IBSAT 2024 may see an expansion in terms of collaboration with other affiliated institutions. This could open up more opportunities for candidates to use their IBSAT scores to apply to additional colleges.
Conclusion
The IBSAT 2024 exam is shaping up to be a promising opportunity for MBA aspirants, with new updates such as a potential hybrid exam mode, extended application windows, and slight changes in eligibility criteria. Staying informed about these updates will help you tailor your preparation effectively and give you an edge in securing admission to one of the top ICFAI Business Schools.

Whether your child excels in academics, sports, arts, or a combination of these, finding a school that supports their growth in these areas is crucial.
Visit the Schools: Before making a decision, itโ€™s essential to visit the schools youโ€™re considering. This allows you to get a feel for the school environment, meet the faculty, and see the facilities firsthand. Many schools offer open houses or campus tours, which can provide valuable insights into the schoolโ€™s culture and values.
Consider the Curriculum: Different schools in Bangalore offer various curricula, including CBSE, ICSE, IB, and IGCSE. Understanding the strengths of each curriculum and how it aligns with your childโ€™s future goals can help you make an informed choice.
Evaluate the Extracurricular Opportunities: A well-rounded education goes beyond academics. Look for schools that offer a variety of extracurricular activities, such as sports, arts, music, and drama. These activities play a crucial role in developing your childโ€™s social skills, creativity, and leadership abilities.
Seek Feedback from Other Parents: Talking to other parents who have children in the schools youโ€™re considering can provide valuable insights. They can share their experiences and offer practical advice on what to expect from the school and how it supports studentsโ€™ academic and personal growth.
Consider the Commute: The location of the school is an important factor to consider. A long commute can be tiring for both the child and the parents. Itโ€™s important to choose a school that is conveniently located and offers safe and reliable transportation options.

Whether you prefer the structured environment of CBSE schools or are looking at other top schools in bangalore city with different curricula, the city provides opportunities that cater to every studentโ€™s needs.

Reservation as an Injustice to Deserving Students
By: Javad Ahmad Hura
(H.O.D Urdu, GD Goenka Srinagar & Chief Editor, Srinagar Samachar)
Reservation in competitive exams like JEE or MBBS can be likened to tampering with people's lives. Today, I want to share my thoughts on the reservation system, where the government has set a staggering 70% quota for reserved categories and only 30% for open merit. As a result, countless talented, intelligent, and hardworking students see their dreams shattered when they are not selected. They are left in despair, grappling with various mental challenges, and some are even driven to take extreme steps. Yes, reservations are necessary, but they should be implemented within a reasonable limit. I believe that reservation should be capped at 40%, with 60% reserved for open merit, ensuring fairness for all students, including those eligible for reservations.
Students who work tirelessly and dedicate themselves to their studies often do not get selected in these exams. Instead, reserved category students, who may not have the same level of capability or intelligence, are given priority. Isn't this unfair to non-reserved students? Some students, feeling the injustice of the current system, have even taken the drastic step of committing suicide. Even with scores of 80 or higher, they are not selected, while reserved category students with lower scores are chosen. This situation mentally paralyzes capable and intelligent students, driving them to desperate actions. In my view, the government is responsible for this.
Many students fall into depression or turn to substance abuse due to this situation. In our state, reservation based on caste and community has become like an opium pill. Currently, there is a significant uproar across the country regarding reservations. While some form of reservation for the economically weaker sections is necessary, a 70% quota is unjustifiable. The reservation granted based on caste and community no longer holds as much relevance, as no caste or community remains backward. Yes, reservations should be provided to those who are economically disadvantaged. Students may not be paying much attention to this issue now, but they will realize its significance when they start experiencing the reality during counseling, selection in NEET exams despite good scores, or not getting a job despite excellent performance. In contrast, reserved category students will continue to benefit effortlessly.
Previously, 42% was reserved for open merit, but now it's only 30%, which is utterly wrong. Since there are more students from the open merit category, the government should have considered this when setting the quota. Therefore, I appeal to the government to ensure justice for open merit students by setting the reservation limit at 60% for open merit and 40% for reserved categories.
Under the old reservation policy, 8% was allocated to Scheduled Castes (SC), 10% to Scheduled Tribes (ST), 4% to Other Backward Classes (OBC), 10% to residents of backward areas, 4% to those living near the Line of Actual Control (LOC) and International Border (IB), 10% to economically weaker sections (EWS), 6% for former servicemen, and 4% for persons with disabilities. Under the new reservation policy, 8% is for SCs, 20% for STs, 8% for OBCs, 10% for residents of backward areas, 4% for those living near LOC and IB, 10% for EWS, 6% for former servicemen, and 4% for persons with disabilities. This change has significantly impacted open merit students. Therefore, I appeal to the government to develop a new policy considering the open merit category to avoid injustice, as the majority of people here belong to this category.
The government has made several scholarships and financial aid available for the economically weaker sections, benefiting them greatly. My intention is not to suggest that the poor should not be helped. My point is that while the government has made many schemes available for the poor, including the reservation system, the 70% quota is excessive. It is unjust to students who work day and night but still do not get selected in exams. What crime have these non-reserved students committed that their hard work, intelligence, and capabilities are not recognized?
We must consider whether this system is unfair to them. It has been observed that many non-reserved students work harder than those from reserved categories, yet they are not selected. Isn't this injustice? If someone faces problems due to reservations, falls into depression, gets addicted to drugs, or takes an extreme step leading to loss of life, who is responsible? Therefore, I humbly appeal to the government to seriously reconsider this matter and set a fair limit for reservations that ensures justice for both open merit and reserved category students. Those who truly deserve it should get their due.
A long time ago, the Supreme Court ruled in the Indra Sawhney case that general reservations should be limited to 50%. However, this guideline has been ignored. It is crucial to consider open merit while determining reservation limits. Discussing reservations does not mean criticizing the system but ensuring that no hardworking, intelligent, and capable student is treated unfairly. Therefore, the government should reevaluate the reservation policy and introduce a new decision, considering the ratio of open merit students. The standard of competence could weaken as long as opportunities are granted based on caste or community. It is essential to set a limit that allows every capable and intelligent student to benefit from their hard work, enabling them to progress and bring pride to their country, parents, and society.
Somewhere, reservations might be devaluing hard work and competence. Moreover, reservations could lead to social tensions, increasing class or caste-based conflicts.
