Little "bouquet" of random flowers I found growing wild in a yard

#flowers #photo diary #I think people are way too mean about ''''weeds'''' and not appreciative of them. Like.. dandelions are super nice looking #and bright and pretty.. forget me nots are so cute and a nice color.. etc. all of these random things that just spring up in the yard #are so neat. and it's evil that people tear them up and mow them down all the time #I guess maybe I get dandelions because they can kind of take over a space?? MAYBE?? but even then #if I was going to have a yard that is just a giant empty plot of blank grass. I would ratherit have a scattering of dandelions than #just like....... nothingness.#Also super cool that this person I know has columbines growing wildly in the yard. They hate them and pull them up #since they've kind of ''taken over'' a patch of grass near a bench they use #but they're soooo cool... Though they only have the single color ones just purple. My favorite columbines are the ones that are two colors #and almost look like two flowers in one or something.#There's a hill near a road around here where poppies seem to be growing wild.. ough... I wish I could go and take some or something #I've tried to transplant forget me nots everytime I'm in some realitive or friend's yard who has them and I ask to dig a few up but #I think theyre just not the type of flower that really grows long term on a deck lol.. but I wish they were... I just really like the blue #color. THOUGH this year in someone else's yard I found a very cool flower just randomly growing wildly that I had never seen #before. It's called Bethlehem Lungwort and it has spotted leaves and multi colored flowers and it looked like a flower out of a cartoon #at first. Since it was randomly growing wild in a yard the person let me dig one of them upand its' still aliveon my deck actualy #It's not blooming flowers anymore but the leaves are still prospering fine. Though it seems to really dislike the super hot sun #and will wilt in this heat wave if I'm not watering it at least once every other day lol.. anyway

Whew ok chalk art achieved!!!

All of my muscles hurt but it was so worth it look at him!! First time I have ever drawn Gale and I think he turned out really well!

At least ten people walking past called him Jesus it was beautiful. One guy came up to it, shouted "GALE!!!!" And then got embarrassed and ran away.

I got a G3 Lagoona on sale 💖 I'm gonna make her into a scene girl

#i won't be able to get downstairs for a week or so anyway so i can talk about this idea #also i have like 5 started dolls i should do before her but this seems like a simpler project to get back into it #I've been dying to chop off my hair into scene hair but my bangs are iconic i could never do that to them #so i hope making this doll kind of fulfills something inside me #she's gonna be so cute i think her gradient legs will work so well with a scene queen look. in place of colorful leggings #g3 lagoona grew on me. i was sad she wasn't blue anymore but there's been some really nice dolls of her and I'm love her now

so a friend was helping someone get rid of their yarn stash, and the person had basically one request: that their nice wool yarns go to "someone who knows what they're doing and will appreciate them". So, my friend offered them to me yesterday, and let me tell you i was absolutely flattered!!

one of the yarns is this absolute gorgeous, squishy as hell, worsted weight hand dyed superwash wool. this morning i basically instantly cast on a brioche stitch scarf, and oh my goodness it is so soft. it is so squish.

so i look up the yarn online, and the shop that made this yarn closed two years ago so i can't buy any more ;-;

my take, after having attended the big rothko retrospective in paris this week, is that a lot of rothko's blue paintings were kind of weak

#they don't capture the light idk! esp not some of the blue+greens. idk what it is #i've never been like. a person with super strong reflexive rothko responses but the full exhibit was a really intense great experience #some really good black/grays and black/reds #got all emotional about early 60s white and red #honestly i kind of fucking love his early period stuff-- esp after he stopped trying to do human figure surrealism but b4 color fields #the middle bit. hierarchical birds and so on #seagrams are pretty great ive seen them at the tate before still works #box opener #sadly none of the gray on gray untitleds were present so i was unable to conduct any firsthand scholarship #on the ongoing question of exactly which rothko has been photoshopped into that fake-ass 'pink on pink' one that circulates #every few years or so

i'm not sure how to convey how much i love this stupit game. got so excited thinking about drawing stuff i could hardly sleep (i hate it when i do that, why is my body like that) i'd originally downloaded it because i saw it had a character creator and i wanted something new to try ideas out on... and for the past ...3 weeks? i've been playing it for a few hours each day (and i hadn't played video games in months) and the people there are so nice and i got to make my lil guy a fighter/mage like i'd imagined he'd be and just aaaaaaaaaaa

#hoping to get some more sketches done tomorrow and then start on lining & coloring #nothing fancy. just me being excited and i must scream #also. i realize i forgot the doggo's earrings. i'll fix that later. and also i got some dyes and so the new colors are the blue & orange #art stuff i guess #it's called the legend of neverland and it's apparently just a typical gacha game (i've never played one before) but idk i love it even if #i'm not very good at it

Since this was the first volume, I tried out a few different drawings and had the editor and designer choose which ones they wanted, then made small adjustments. I personally liked the top-down draft, and the one of the cooking processes (back cover) the best. But looking back, I sincerely think it's good that we didn't go with those. (Kui)

The format was decided for volume 1. So, volume 2 came together quickly. (Kui)

Cover illustration draft, vol. 3

I thought it might be cool to make the character Chilchuck darker in the foreground, and the background brighter! But it didn't quite work out the way I had imagined. I think it could have been a bit better. (Kui)

I remember that the overall shape of volume 4 came together very quickly. The character Senshi's hands didn't fit nicely, so I moved them backwards and to the side. (Kui)

I thought people might start to think "how many have I bought?" so I wanted to create a slightly different impression with this volume. I decided to put the character right in the center and try putting it together all in blue and green hues. (Kui)

With the Red Dragon defeated, have we reached the halfway point in the story? With this in mind, I thought of how many volumes were left to go, and the number of characters, and decided to pair up the characters Namari and Shuroiro. In hindsight, it would have been fine to have them on one cover each. (Kui)

The image is of focus lines converging on the character Izutsumi. This is the kind of cover, with upside down characters, which I've always wanted to try once(?) I submitted it as a trial, thinking that at this point the cover wouldn't dramatically influence sales. However, in the end, we decided it would be better not to have it upside down. (Kui)

I tried blurring the mushrooms in the foreground, then I accidentally saved over it, and couldn't go back to the original. I remember apologizing that it was probably tacky, when I submitted it. (Kui)

I don't think snake meat is marbled at all, but if it has an unfamiliar look, people might not recognize it as meat… so I made it look like beef to make it easier to understand. (Kui)

I thought it might be interesting to have more than one of the main characters on the cover again, so I added the character Falin. I remember it wasn't badly received, but it still ended up just being Thistle on his own. (Kui)

I wanted this cover to be covered in shiny gold. After I finished it, it didn't have enough color, so I painted the tablecloth green, and it ended up looking like Christmas colors. (Kui)

Up to this point, the covers have featured one of the main characters holding cooking utensils in the foreground and a monster in the background, but I thought it might be interesting to reverse the format just before the final volume, so I drew this cover with that in mind. (Kui)

volume 13 was meant to be the final one, but it was too thick to be published as a single volume, so we decided to split it into two. The question of “so, what should I draw next!?" may be at the forefront of volume 13. (Kui)

I had decided that the final cover definitely needed to have everyone eating together on it, but because I was publishing two books at the same time I was pressed for time, and it was difficult to have a cover with so many characters on it. I also submitted a rough for an illustration that didn't need me to draw any crowds, but such obviously easy ideas are never adopted. (Kui)

I drew these based on the director's instruction "This kinds of pictures." I hardly ever have the chance to draw color illustrations, so it was a valuable experience for me. (Kui)

I probably wouldn't have continued playing genshin impact #little did I know that this unassuming little exorcist would be exactly what I wanted out of a playable character #I didn't even think I'd enjoy greatswords before I started playing #I always assumed I'd be a catalyst main because I pick the mage option in every other game #and poor boy doesn't have a demo/trailer so I didn't even know of his existence until I pulled him #but ever since then he's literally never left my main team #he's colored my experience of genshin impact，and I wouldn't have it any other way #idk this got mushy real fast but #i just love this little blue exorcist #and I'm going to main him forever
