So wooo it's been a while since I stepped foot in here, started posting around May (and then took down the first fic because I didn't like it) and I'm really glad I did because writing is the one thing that has really resonated with me my whole life. 

I reached 200 followers at the beginning of November and now I'm 6 from 300, which, again, is crazy! And I have a tag list now, it's unbelievable. Thank you so much to each one of you, I love you.

So I definitely want to give something back to this amazing community.

Starting today I'm going to try to do a monthly post dedicated to all the amazing stories I've read. 

This month will be a list of all the works that have stuck with me since I have been here, unfortunately I will never remember them all because my memory sucks, but I hope I have included most of them.

Important Things For This Blog

I wanted to make a post with some rules/important things to know for this blog. It will be linked in my pinned navigation post. I know some of you have been asking for this and I apologize for it taking this long to do this.

Probably the most important thing (which is sad that this is something I have to say) but

If you see someone using my fics or claiming to have my permission please report them because I will NEVER give permission for my fics to be used for AI

Okay, now that that's out of the way, I wanted to put down some reminders/rules (not that I've had many issues to date) but just in case:

This is an 18+ blog with explicit content. I am trusting a lot of you to be honest and stay away if you are not 18. This is not a minor friendly space.

I am one person running this blog. It's just me, a real person behind all of this.

I am in Pacific Standard Time (PST)/Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) depending on the time of year, so any time I talk about days, I'm meaning that day for me if I forget to add the timezone.

I take a break from this blog on Thursdays (PST), though that can sometimes start as early as Wednesday afternoons and can extend into Friday mornings.

Again, I am a human being with my own struggles and some days are not good days. I try to avoid interacting too much those days, but sometimes I'm not smart enough to do that. So if I seem off or rude or snappy, I do apologize. I always feel guilty after I get back into my normal head space.

I invoke the right to delete any ask that I do not want to answer, or that makes me uncomfortable.

As point number 2 states, I am just one person, and I get a lot of asks some days, so if your ask/comment/reblog etc isn't responded to right away, it's either because I didn't get it/didn't see it, or because I have 30 others in my inbox that I haven't answered yet too.

I try and avoid posting asks/reblogs with spoilers right away for those that don't/can't read the chapter right away. I tend to hold off for a couple days so if I haven't responded to you, that's also probably why.

Responses that have spoilers and are posted the days I post spoilers are tagged with "crcb spoilers" so block that tag if you don't want to see them or have anything spoiled, though after those days I stop tagging things with that tag.

I use my queue a lot, especially on days where I don't plan to be on Tumblr much, or days I post spoilers. I try to remember to use the tag "queue 06" when I'm using the queue.

Regarding CRCB exclusively, I have taken a lot of time to make and organize several lore/FAQ masterlists. If you ask a question that has already been answered there (which to be fair I do miss adding some sometimes) I will direct you there to avoid repeating myself.

Buddie? BT? Doesn't matter.

Maybe this isn't how the writers wanted or expected their work to be interpreted, but people pull from RL situations and experience to infer and understand.

As a rational woman of more than 20 years of life on this planet, I've seen and experienced a lot. (Some of that experience is being dated by someone without having a clue they were dating me. Eddie Diaz is not alone. Sadly.) So, here is my interpretation.

1- Tommy was trying to date Eddie. Tommy is not bi, confused, closeted, or shy. He is an out gay man who immediately began monopolizing Eddie's attention and time. Your middle class new friend of a week or two is not flying you to Vegas unless he is trying to get into your pants within the next two weeks. Tommy was trying to impress Eddie and show off. That is not platonic. Tommy wanted Eddie in the naked and moaning type way. You can see his attraction in the way he follows Eddie with his eyes while cheesing when they land after rescuing the cruise ship. Tommy never once looks at Buck until Buck grabs him. Which leads to...

2- Buck was trying to do two things, subconsciously, at once, but for different reasons. Buck was trying to get Tommy's attention off Eddie and get Eddie's attention back onto himself. Eddie had no clue because he didn't even see Tommy was courting him. (I read an A/B/O fic and that word has stuck. Sue me.) Buck couldn't see he was jealous of Tommy and angry at Eddie because he felt he was being tossed aside. Don't forget, this is a Buck who was fresh out of a relationship and watching Eddie get serious with Marisol. In Buck's mind, Eddie was already being taken by Marisol and now Tommy was poaching him, too.

3- Tommy was not into Buck. He took a convenient option that presented itself. That is why that kiss is so sudden, impulsive, and UNSURE. Tommy knew Eddie was a lost cause. But then Buck is begging for attention and right there. So, Tommy made a decision to test the waters and see what happened.

4- Tommy also figured out that he could lead Buck around easily. Remember how their first date was set up? Remember Tommy kicking Buck to the curb literally, but coming back quickly when Buck called begging for a second chance? To young people and people who have never been in relationships, those are classic emotionally manipulative power moves. You can say what you want, but Tommy has figured Buck out and knows how to control the narrative.

If the writers went with sexual identity crisis Eddie, oblivious Buck, and opportunistic and manipulative Tommy, they could easily support all three with canon. Not fanon. CANON.

Bonus: Eddie is shocked Tommy is gay but isn't phased by Buck liking a man. Sure, it throws him a bit when Buck confesses he was on a date with Tommy, but Eddie is completely flabbergasted by Tommy being gay. That explains why he didn't realize Tommy was trying to get at that glorious behind. (For the rest, go back and watch the confession scene. Look for the micro-expressions. Share what you pick up.)

A witchcraft basics doc; update, resource call, interest check, and a possible second doc

Bet most of you didn't even know I was working on this >:D

Yes this is a huge post. It's a lot of things.

So, one of my first posts ever on this blog was me mentioning that a friend of mine had NO clue what they were signing up for when asking for the basics of witchcraft. The google doc I wrote took on a life of its own, and the post did as well when people started asking for it. I still plan to tag said people when I post it, assuming they haven't deactivated. The thing is, this doc had become a proper project, and it took a long time for me to have the motivation to work on it again. Now, though, it seems to me like a damn good way to reconnect to my craft after a rut! (which, by the way, is why I've been offline.)

So, my first post back is for a couple of reasons. For one, if you have any resources you'd think would be useful for beginner witches, feel free to shoot me an ask, DM, or comment/reblog on this post! I'll have a list of things I'm putting in the doc (taking recommendations there as well) at the bottom of this post.

The other thing is that I might end up making a second doc, one that's a little less "101" in vibe. It would have a MAJOR MAJOR UPG warning on it, first off, and I'm not sure whether or not I would be marking any UPG either since this would essentially be a second Grimoire/Book of Shadows for me that would be public to others for the sake of sharing information! I can't say I'd call it "advanced witchcraft" by any means, I'm not very fancy lol, but I don't want the basics doc to get too overwhelming. I do, however, want to scream about random witchcraft topics that interest me. So this is also a bit of an interest check for that, as well as the basics doc.

FINAL NOTE: I fully plan on posting this basics doc before it's done. Some sections will be unwritten or unfinished, because if I wait until I find it "finished" I'll never post it. It's going to be added onto whenever I can, but I feel as though getting it out is the best course of action.

appropriation* (I don't know near enough about this, I just check what's in my own practice. I would like this to include a list of commonly appropriated closed practices, a definition of appropriation and why it shouldn't be done, open pantheons, and common open practices.)

meditation

where someone could go from here* (including sigils, tarot, crystals bc my friend likes rocks lol, maybe astrology but oh god I have nothing about that it makes my brain hurt just looking at an astrology chart /pos. I will probably make a list of stuff that I could add in this section.)

paganism and witchcraft; overlap, what they are individually, why one might be for you rather than the other, etc.*

also to be clear, there are also disabilities that can impact your ability to think and read critically! if the letters keep getting switched around on you while you're trying to read a sentence, of course you're going to have a harder time reading large or dense paragraphs. but, as with my probable dyscalculia, what this means is that thinking and reading critically may just be more difficult for someone to do with dyslexia--not that they can't do it at all. like, i figured out why that joke was funny; i just needed some help to do it. comprehension of the joke, like comprehension of complex themes acquired through reading, is not the problem.

critical reading and critical thinking are skills that you develop through practice and repetition. you can strengthen these muscles and become better at it over time.

don't ever let anyone tell you that your disability means you simply "aren't meant" to understand certain things. in fact, i'd go so far as to say that whoever is telling you that probably stands to gain from denying you access to any accommodations that could make understanding complex ideas easier for you.

there are of course certain posts circulating here that do indeed display the grim state of critical reading and thinking skills on this website. (i'm thinking specifically about the "taylor swift isn't bisexual" "don't worry, op isn't actually saying that taylor swift isn't actually bisexual" post that has been making the rounds for years. op of that reblog chain is probably still fighting for their life, thoughts and prayers, etc.)

then there are posts where there are, in fact, very reasonable and plausible explanations for why a large number of people on the 'neurodivergent with diagnosed and undiagnosed disabilities' website might struggle to understand what they're looking at right away. logic puzzles, jokes that rely on solving math problems in your head to unearth the joke, unreality bits, etc.

and i think it is actually very important to be able to distinguish between these two different types of non-comprehension before deciding to have a go at people for not understanding what they're looking at.

I’m gonna start with @birinboom Em, my dear sweet potato moot. She’s a really kind moot and will hear you out and support you in your endeavors! She also writes really sweet fics and has a penchant for sweetheart and silly/mischievous type characters…dunno much about Hashbrowns (Hoshina Kn8) but he seems silly and mischievous to me. Very warm like a baked sweet potato! Also has a way of describing nature that puts you there. Em you already know my favorite, and it’s coming up again: she has the ability to nail the vibes of one universe but apply it to different characters.

@philistiniphagottini Nagi is so very kind. It’s the firm kind of kind, the one that encourages establishing and maintaining boundaries. Also writes really sweet pieces and for chubby readers to boot! Embodies multiple characters and matches their vibes with her narration too! I have come across some neat prose reading her work, I cannot remember them off the top of my head. Which is concerning given I meant to borrow that… Anywho Nagi is considerate! Be kind to Nagi please! She has definitely taught me a lot by being herself.

@feral-artistry : in my head you’re objectively hot. Like a Thai spicy mango salad, sweet with a kick and it’s fun! I don’t think I thought to apply traditional painting techniques to digital painting until I saw you do it. The way she hears you out and gives out solid advice and interesting pieces of information. Generally an educational experience talking with you and I would recommend it to others here. Also: pretty art. Oh and your sense of humor might just align with mine because you’re effortlessly funny in some posts I’ve seen. Also you kicked one of the things I had only ever hoped to experience off my bucket list when you made art of Ace after reading my headcanons of him. Pure joy.

@captainportgasdace an absolute sweetheart. Seriously: like 80-90% fluff and sweetness. Deeply loving (her dedication to her blorbo and her sweet characterization of him speaks volumes) has absolutely brought me brainworms and joy on the dash. Also a patient listener and just so kind? Like...imagine a whole stranger tells you about something completely unrelated to you and you just wish them well? Tell them they deserve good things? Like...lovely. Just lovely.

The moonlight filtered through the curtains of the small apartment where you had managed to hide. You could only hear the soft pattering of the rain against the glass. You were standing in front of the window, watching the drops slide down the glass, trapped in your thoughts. It had been two years since you last saw Steve Rogers.

Steve had discovered that you belonged to HYDRA, but he never let you explain that you had been forced, you would never forget his face.

Now, two years later, you were in hiding, finally able to have a quiet week without being on the run. You had left HYDRA shortly after your separation from Steve, but you knew they would never let you go so easily. The organization wanted you dead for your betrayal, and the government still considered you a dangerous criminal, perhaps you always would be.

A knock on the door brought you out of your thoughts. You turned to the door and approached cautiously. You peered through the peephole, and the air escaped your lungs when you saw Steve standing in the hallway, soaking wet from the rain, you immediately opened the door.

“Steve...” you murmured in surprise.

“May I come in? “he asked.

You nodded and stepped back to let him in. Steve walked in, leaving a trail of water on the floor. He stood in the middle of the room, looking at you as if he didn't know where to start. The silence between the two of you was very uncomfortable. You cleared your throat, breaking the silence.

“What are you doing here, Steve? “you finally questioned.

Steve took a deep breath before answering.

“I've been looking for you,” he answered. I wanted... I needed to understand why.

That “why” was full of meanings. Why had you joined HYDRA? Why hadn't you told him? Why had you betrayed him? But most of all, why couldn't he forget you yet?

You sat on the edge of the bed, unable to hold his gaze any longer.

“I never wanted to hurt you, Steve. I never wanted to be in HYDRA. They forced me, kidnapped me when I was a little girl. And then you already knew the truth... and I'd already lost you.

“You know I can never forgive HYDRA for what they've done,” he said finally.

“I don't expect you to forgive me, Steve,” you said, getting up and walking over to him. I just want you to know that I loved you, even when I couldn't tell you. I loved you with all my being, but I also knew that, in the end, it would all come crashing down.

“I loved you too,” he admitted in a whisper, ”and I think I still do, in spite of everything.

Your eyes met his, finally, it was Steve who broke the distance between them. He grabbed you around the waist and pulled you to him, his lips seeking yours with a great desperation.

The kiss intensified, and Steve gently pushed you down onto the bed. You knew where this was going, and though a part of you told you it wasn't the right thing to do, another, larger part simply couldn't resist. You needed him as much as he needed you, even if it was just for one night, for one more time.

As his hands roamed your body, his lips moved down your neck. Your skin burned under his touch, you needed more.

“Steve...” you murmured his name, unable to form coherent words.

“I need you...” he whispered against your ear.

Hours later, you lay in bed, wrapped in the sheets, Steve's body cradled against yours. You closed your eyes.

As the first light of dawn began to filter through the curtains, he slid out of bed carefully, making sure you didn't wake up, dressed quietly, walked over to you and kissed you on the forehead, left the letter on the pillow and headed for the door.

When you woke up, you saw the empty place and the letter, you read it and the tears started to come out of your eyes uncontrollably, at last Steve had taken his revenge.

New Mandatory #NSFW Mature Label

I rarely post NSFW content so I'm not sure how long this has been a thing, but just a heads up, if you use the #NSFW tag, tumblr will now automatically apply the mature content label to your post.

A few important notes:

(1) You can't remove this label. Well that's not 100% true, on original posts you can manually change the label back to "everyone." However, if you save or publish the post with #NSFW still included, the mature label will automatically be reapplied. Aka it's now impossible (with the new editor) to publish a post tagged as #NSFW that's not flagged as "mature."

(2) The mature label is also applied to reblogs tagged with #NSFW. This is where we get into a bit of a problem. Community labels on reblogs are not normally editable. The option is grayed out (as you can see above), which means that once you add the #NSFW tag to a reblog, even if you decide to later remove it, that post will forever be labelled "mature" and locked away from any of your followers who filter those posts out (remember mature filters are turned ON for everyone by default). As far as I can tell tagging a reblog as #NSFW does NOT apply the label to the post globally though, it's just on your own blog, but it's still not ideal.

(3) This only works when using "#NSFW" on its own. If any other text is included in the tag the auto-applied community label is not triggered.

(4) No other tag (that I've been able to find) has a mandatory community label. What's interesting is I did find an official @changes post from about 6 months ago stating that tumblr "will add the pertinent label to the post automatically" when the label is used as a tag, with #violence even being explicitly provided as an example, but I tried it (along with as many other "mature" tags as I could think of) and it didn't work. #NSFW appears to be the only one, at least right now.

Not being allowed to use the #NSFW tag without a mature label is annoying, particularly for those who are overly cautious about tagging it even when it may not be necessary and particularly since it's uneditable when applied to reblogs. However, I'm not going to outright say this new "feature" is 100% a bad thing and that everyone should get up in arms about it. This post is just meant to make you aware of it.

Most posts tagged as NSFW probably should be labelled "mature" and I bet most people just forget to do it or may not even know about community labels in the first place. As much as I want to return to the old "go nuts, show nuts" tumblr, I'm aware that's never going to happen and this new community label system is our only way forward. If there's any hope of tumblr ever broadening the mature content guidelines and getting us closer to where we were before (yes, I know it's a longshot), this system has to work and it only works if people use it.

Please, please, please remember to check the notes for an image description before reblogging! This isn't me accusing anyone of any moral failure, because building habits is hard and takes time, I totally get it. But that doesn't make it any less unfortunate when inaccessible posts are circulated, even though a described version could be found in literally three clicks. Just go "Notes" > "Reblogs" > "Comments only".

I hear you! In fact, if you're a person who navigates blogs like that to re-circulate old posts and art, I actually think you're doing a great public service — but you still only need like two more clicks to be accessible.

When you find a post you want to reblog, save it as a draft. Don't type any tags or comments yet if you're planning to. Then go to your drafts page — either in another tab, or after accumulating more posts like this — and pop out the notes there to look for an ID. If there is one, reblog that post and delete the undescribed draft!

Like I said, I've been there. I can only recommend what eventually worked for me, but I can't suggest enough that you follow some described blogs (here is a tumblr post listing some, here is a google doc listing some). If you see IDs daily, it will hopefully become much more noticeable when they're absent.

Of course, if anyone else has another strategy that's helped, please add on!

There's a multitude of reasons why not everyone can write image descriptions for every post they share, or sometimes even any of them. But those of us who are out here writing IDs do so with that knowledge in mind — so help us help ID users have a more accessible and less aggravating online experience!

What is considered both a reasonable and maximum polycount for custom content hair and other types of custom content in The Sims 2 and does it depend on gaming specs? Also your work is great!

I, personally, use hair that is under 25K polys unless it's unique and cute. Anything over that is overboard and should get decimated. Any furniture or clothing over 10K is extreme for me.

As for specs, I'm inclined to believe that it's a game limitation, how powerful your computer specs are, and a secret third and fourth thing, your OS, and if you're a laptop user.

This OS talk is a side tangent, so bear with me:

Big disclaimer that this is all my opinion, not a factual piece. Don't take this as gospel and I'm far from an expert on operating softwares, computers, and CC for that matter. I went a little bit insane with the OS talk because you mentioned specs and this has been on my mind for a while 🥴

Every single time I've heard that someone installed TS2 on Linux, they are able to play on maximum settings with a BUNCH of CC for a long time and experience no pink soup or pink soup related crashing. I want to do my own research and play the same heavily detailed lot for the same amount of time on Windows and Linux and compare the differences as well as compare how they use resources differently. If I already did not have an attachment to Photoshop CC 2017, I would have made the switch by now.

Okay so Windows... I've played TS2 on my Asus laptop from 2020 and on my new desktop. Here's the spec difference

Laptop: Intel Core i7-9750H 6 Core Processor, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (Windows 10)

Desktop: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (Windows 11)

My laptop was really good for it's time (I bought it in March 2020), but it was pink soup galore for any cluttered CC lot, even with all of the fixes and GRM edits. My current setup is a mish mosh of my bf's and ex's computer parts and it runs perfectly fine, but I do not play long enough to encounter pink soup. (I have a job and I mainly play to get CC previews these days.) If you noticed, both my CPU and GPU were made before my laptop was sold, and yet it still performs way better. Laptops with top of the line hardware will never be more powerful than PCs with even mid to high level hardware from 5 years ago. Don't forget that laptops will throttle performance to protect itself from overheating and causing damage.

There is also no difference between installing and playing the game on Windows 10 and Windows 11, except that you should absolutely uninstall OneDrive if you haven't already. There might be some issue if you install with discs, but I don't own the discs.

And as for Mac, I truly believe that Mac is the worst way to experience Sims 2. Between the Super Collection crap, not being able to use third party tools (SimPE, Hair Binner, any other .exe files made to run for Windows), and the file limit that really hits you hard if you download a bunch of CC that you can't merge anyway because CCMerger can't run on Mac. I should say I have never played Sims 2 on a Mac, but this is my opinion after reading about the struggles of other MacOS users online.

The point of this OS tangent? None, really. I'm not trying to persuade you to use Linux or stop using Mac, this is simply what I've noticed and my opinions on the matter. There's millions of variables I did not cover such as DXVK, texture sizes, difference in specs between each OS and user and many other things I am forgetting.

soukoku fics: recs and reviews

look, i really like fanfiction. and i've always felt people sometimes don't give good enough reasons to actually read a lot of it. if you scroll down enough, you'll see i did that too. so i thought i'd help out some people that don't know what to read tonight. you'll notice i took my reviewing seriously hgdsafvkhagsv i'll add more in my reblogs as i go on with this review style, but for now, here are three fanfics that pushed me to do this. fair warning, they're long ones.

A Lesson in Thorns by arkastadt

Word Count: 454,556

Review:

As one of the longest fics I’ve ever read, it took me three days to read it, and a lot of lost sleep. A Lesson in Thorns is a journey that no one is truly prepared for. It’s surprising, I think, how one only notices the slow burn in the beginning, and forget they didn’t start out together in the end. So many things happen in the span of those fifty chapters, and so many feelings arise alongside their events. The reader watches Chuuya grow into himself, despite the haunting (hehe) that surrounds him by the end. Dazai becomes a man wishing to live, despite becoming a ghost of who he used to be. It’s quite magical, the way the story builds upon itself. What is usually some home, this piece makes an empire. 

This author appealed a lot to the wants and needs within these characters, making a paced build up to the challenges the characters face. Furthermore, there is a wonderful line of thought that is unwavering, consistent to the very end. The reader meets Chuuya getting ready to be married. A deal has been struck with the Port Mafia, and as the leader of the Sheep, Chuuya must marry their boss. A questionable and confusing task, but Chuuya has no more cards under his sleeve, and he has to save Shirase from the pending prison sentence. He walks into where he is to be married, looking to find a wrinkled, aging man. Instead, he faces the bandaged limbs and cunning eye of Dazai Osamu, and the story truly begins. 

The reader already knows it’s not a choice left for random that Dazai takes Chuuya under his wing. It’s already stated that on the first day in his position as the boss, right after killing Mori and sixteen months before he and Chuuya marry, he finds the redhead. A search that is broken down as the story unravels, and an effort that builds them and breaks them apart and puts them back together. 

This fanfic is clearly derived from a lot of the factors pointed in Bungou Stray Dogs’s BEAST light novel, which in my eyes makes it all the more interesting. I tried to give a short insight into the beginning with as much care as I could without creating any spoilers for the reading. I guess from me, all my notes just say it’s worth it. This fic really drags you through so many stages of feelings and excitements, and it builds off from them until you reach a new peak all over again. 

On Deathless Feet by AbsoluteNegation

Word Count: 71,848

Tags: Caretaking, Controlling Arahabaki, Canon-Divergence, Port Mafia and Post-Port Mafia, Smut

Review:

There are some stories that find themselves tucked into a hidden corner. It does not make them any less, and it does not make them any better, it just makes them quiet. Which in turn, when they are finally found, makes them all the more surprising. That is how I feel about On Deathless Feet, tucked in a corner of Ao3, and all incredibly surprising. 

Written with a nonlinear narrative, the reader meets the famed Double Black in different moments, recently met, in the middle of their rise through the ranks, at the brink of their end, after their disconnection with years of silence. AbsoluteNegation makes a wonderful story threaded in different moments, contextualizing their uncomfortable return to each other with interruptions back to their old lives before Dazai’s split from the Port Mafia. The author mainly focuses on Arahabaki, and Chuuya’s relationship with understanding the singularity as it slips out of control. Dazai is sent in to help counter it throughout their time together, and long stretches of contact are needed to get it down to normal. 

With a state of constant carataking, the two are thrusted into communion, needing to learn to accept living with each other for the time being. It isn’t a foreign feeling, seeing the other there, but at the end of the day it’s hard for the two with all that past. A past the author explores in detail just as much, not holding back on making it layered and pretty and very intense. They are creatures of passion, that’s what drives this ship and makes it so loved, and the author doesn’t shy away from building on it. Just as well, however, does the author place their own touch to their relationship, with the care and devotion the two also experiment between them. This fanfic is a welcomed balance to the rockier roads often explored surrounding these two. It never lacks sharpness, but it definitely warms the heart.

Review:

Music for our funeral by itotypes is a breathtaking composition, and there is not much like it. Set in the 70s, the author explores the surrounding setting of the rock genre, and writes a story of struggle and connection. Starting out with a run-away teenager, we meet Dazai’s lackluster perfection, the narrative often picturing him as a clinical artist. After leaving home, we watch him make himself something, and see him survive until he looks to live. Meanwhile, the other side of the piece plays with a striving perfectionist, and a reckless guitarist, in the form of Chuuya. The man comes from a struggling family (a stark contrast to the origins of his partner), and finds himself lost in the music. 

An interesting part of the story is that we get to know the characters before they meet. In a way, it allows the reader to explore the lives privy to the explosion, and before the pining and intensity that sparks between the two. One of the most appreciative factors that make this story one of my personal favorites is the usage of images throughout it. With beautiful lyrics exploring the essence of a character’s beliefs without them needing to admit it to themselves, there is a clear view into the conflicts and selfish needs that each character has. 

This author’s work is best described as an ode to music. It comes as a surprise at times, the way words fit together in reverence to this branch of artistry. Yet the fact that it’s done through another form of storytelling, through the use of words on a screen instead of notes on one’s ear, makes it all the more captivating. There is no question this is a must read.
