writer interview game ✨
thank you for tagging me linds!! <3 @inevitablestars
how many works do you have on ao3? 5 on my otrtbs account (+1 unpublished one) and 6 on my otrtbs_shorts account (where all my one shots and short stories went!!)
what's your total ao3 word count? 580,654
your top 5 stories by kudos? Art Heist, Baby! Tender Curiosities, Baby! Winterlude Angel of Death You and Me
do you respond to comments? i try!!!! i really try!!! ahb! gets unmanageable i fear but if you get there early enough on new chapters that i post on new stories, i really try to get to them!!
what's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? uhm. i guess art heist, baby! but tbh i feel like i could go angstier... maybe that'll be a writing goal for the new year...
do you write crossovers? no! haven't yet. but i was just talking to some friends today about something so cursed ....that could be my magnum opus if i wasn't a coward
have you ever received hate on a fic? no, never!!! everyone is really nice and respectful and can keep it peaceful and fun :))) !1!1!1!1! (<- girl who is manifesting for the future <- my fic has been eviscerated on goodreads and reddit and tiktok and twitter and in my tumblr asks and on ao3 i wouldn't be surprised if people are adding it to their linkedin atp)
do you write smut? very poorly and briefly and not really el oh el
have you ever had a fic stolen? not plagiarized, no!!! thank god!! but stolen and sold....well, yes i fear.
have you ever had a fic translated? yes! so many wonderful sexy versions of art heist, baby! out there for people to enjoy !! angel of death has been translated too!!
have you ever co-written a fic before? no, because collabing scares me. in the sense that i would be worried that i wasn't writing to my co-authors expectations and also ... if they don't directly align to My Vision i will also throw up. so. i don't think co-writing is in the cards for me
what's your all-time favorite ship? JEGULUS <3 jegulus. my forever girls <3
what's a wip that you want to finish but don't think you ever will? when i say i have...a master timeline full of every event that happened to bellatrix, andromeda, narcissa, sirius, and regulus.... detailing their time at school, what classes they take, key life events...just for me to use to write a massive canon-compliant fic of their lives.... i have put in HOURS and HOURS of work into that wip but i don't think it'll ever be done and/or see the light of day
what are your writing strengths? i really love writing detailed, descriptive interior scenes. it's one of my favorite things to do! i see every interior scene in my fic like a little still-life painting and i want the reader to be able to visualize the same still-life im seeing in my head in their head!!
what are your writing weaknesses? commas </3 grammar in general... like sorry 2 ur honor. but who fucking cares? do you get the vibes? are the vibes there? that's all i care about.
what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? i love it!! i've learned a lot of fun phrases from it !!
what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to? im gonna write moonchaser (jamus, wolfbucks? idfk) !!!!!! when my james/remus thesis drops i swear !!!!!!!!
what's your favorite fic you've ever written? Winterlude!!! Winterlude is my favorite child, she's beautiful, she's gorgeous, she's fun, minimal angst, happy endings, regulus is hot as fuck in it, i want to go to there so bad. winterlude !!!!!
okay, i'm no pressure tagging @rabidlittlestrawberry @whorerific @pretentiouswreckingball @twisted-tales-told @residentrookie 💕

Fanfiction Author Interview Game
I was tagged by angels @lucigoo and @messrsrarchives ! thank you so much for tagging me, dear hearts, even though I am terrible at being online!!
Answers under the cut because I yapped a bit much!
Edit: I'm a silly billy and forgot to tag people!! No pressure tags for dear hearts @moonheavens @quiethauntings @a-fiery-fox @janetm74 and @katblu42 (if you haven't already done it!) 💚
How many works do you have on AO3?
16 (12 for Harry Potter and 4 for TAG)
soon to be 18 if i can get my shit together and post the two secret santa fics i wrote
What's your total AO3 word count?
391,642 words
Your top 5 stories by kudos/likes:
1. don't try to fix me (i'm not broken) (6k, complete, rated E)
asexual sirius + self acceptance journey. wolfstar
I feel a little ~cringe~ about this fic now but I have had some truly wonderful messages about it from people and it was my first proper dip back into fandom in 2015
2. my love, take care of yourself (26k, complete, rated M)
modern AU: single dad remus raising non-binary teddy meets art teacher sirius. found family and healing ensues. wolfstar
I have an enormous soft spot for teddy in this fic. written for my first ever Remus Lupin fest back in 2021!
3. a toast to the ones that we lost on the way (21k, complete, rated M)
a marauders reunion in the afterlife. wolfstar + jily
I still feel so proud of this one!! it was so hard to write and communicate the depths of grief and redemption properly but I'm happy with the result on the whole!
4. my jokes are my armour, my kindness is my sword (28k, complete, rated E)
plant shop AU ft. chubby trans disabled remus, besotted sirius, found family, extremely wholesome and healing vibes. wolfstar + background jegulily
this fic brought me endless comfort to write, but even more so to see it resonate with other people! found family trope forever and ever
5. starry eyes & galaxy minds (6k, complete, rated T)
toy shop AU: ace sirius is besotted with coworker Remus, valentine's day is fast approaching. wolfstar
I was so surprised this one made the top 5 - I wrote this in a few days after a breakdown and am a bit ~wobbly~ about its quality but we move!!
Do you respond to comments?
Yes! It takes me a little while (currently answering a bunch because I got behind) but I'm always SO grateful for comments and am overwhelmed by how kind people are about my silly little worlds!! I've made some lovely lovely fandom friends because someone has left a sweet comment 💚
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Probably this one because of the point where it ends and where canon picks up (in fact one commenter asked me why I had done that lmao):
a broken pot can still hold water (18k, complete, rated T)
set during prisoner of azkaban. trans remus supporting oliver wood through ed/mh issues whilst also coming apart at the seams.
Also, shout-out to the person who was reading this one on Christmas Day - I see you and I'm holding you extra tight 🫂🫂
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
Definitely my jokes are my armour, my kindness is my sword. I wrote it at a time when I was raging at the lack of trans joy in fics and it was very important to me that this one ended full of hope and community.
Do you write crossovers?
Yes!! Two of my favourite things I've ever written are crossovers:
Jurassic Park AU: love finds a way (60k, complete, rated M)
jurassic park AU ft. exes to lovers, trans disabled autistic palaeontologist remus, adhd paleobotanist sirius, badass marlene, kid harry. adventures and hijinks galore!! wolfstar
Strictly Come Dancing AU: sway through the crowd (to our empty space) (92k, complete, rated E)
strictly come dancing AU ft. chubby disabled autistic trans remus, pro dancer sirius, found family and personal growth. wolfstar
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yes, it mostly gets deleted, or if it's relatively mild I try to respond as kindly as possible to hopefully make them remember I'm just a person!
Do you write smut?
Yes, though I always have to take a deep breath and be brave about it because I feel like it's so cringy aaaAaAa.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! don't try to fix me (i'm not broken) was very kindly translated into Polish and Spanish!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, though I would definitely be open to it!
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Wolfstar ofc! But honestly I will try most ships once!
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
Hmm, I wholeheartedly believe that I will finish my WIPs (yes even the ones I haven't updated in 5+ years), but I think your time will come will be hardest to finish. I associate it so strongly with a rock-bottom time in my life and every time I try and add to it, it feels like backsliding to that low low place. I feel terrible as I still get comments sometimes asking for an update, but one day! it won't hurt so much to write it. recovery is not linear etc. etc.
What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at writing emotions! Which makes sense since I'm a therapist irl hehe. I think I do a decent job of writing from different perspectives, though Remus is my favourite to write, my self-deprecating mopey king. And people were lovely about my imagery in my last fic!
What are your writing weaknesses?
I mostly write in a linear way which is really annoying and means I can get stuck for days just because I can't get one part right. I used to say action scenes because I always dreaded writing them, but I challenged myself in my latest fic and it actually worked out okay!! So maybe it just takes practice.
I have lots of scraps of fic that will probably never see the light of day because I think they're shit, so I guess being hard on myself about my writing too lol.
Time is my biggest enemy - I work 5 jobs and volunteer etc etc and I'm not good at making time for the things that are good for me (like writing).
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Love love love it! I adore languages and speak several so I love to see another language thrown in there (even better if it's not just been run through Google Translate and was checked by a native)!!
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
Jegulus scares me a little bit because it's so polarising, but I expect I will write it at some point. Other fandoms... who knows? It takes a lot for something to capture me to the point that marauders/TAG has but inspiration strikes at the weirdest times so you never know.
What's your favorite fic you've written?
love finds a way!
I poured my entire heart and soul into this fic and it means the world to me. Honestly, writing it gave me a reason to dig my claws in and stay when things felt very dark last year. Dinosaurs are very much my special interest and it was such a privilege to be able to write my other special interest in this world. It has meant more than I can ever say to see this fic resonate with people, my heart is overflowing 💚💚

AO3 Q&A
I wasn't tagged, I just stole this from some other fandom social circle cause it looked fun lmao
And my AO3, in case anyone is not aware
How many works do you have on AO3? 134
What's your total word count?
713,917
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Safe Harbour - kylux
Touch - kylux
Fractured - kylux
Powerless - kylux
Melt - kylux
(genuinely thought there'd be at least one non-kylux in there lmao as my top by hits is Kylo/KOR but oh well)
Do you respond to comments? Why/Why not?
I do! I used to be bad at it, cause it's hard sometimes to know how to respond to praise, but I really like showing my appreciation for the comments I get. People who comment are the people who keep fandom going. The only rare exception is occasionally I do get some weird comment I don't know how to answer (and it's like. It feels rude in some way but not overtly enough to yell at them for), but that's typically some fandom outsider and it's very unusual
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Hmm I usually do at least reasonably okay endings, like even if it's not happy it's hopeful. There is Nightmares, the one benpoe/darkpilot fic I've written that has kind of a gut-punch ending. I also have Gloves from my dragon age days that's a canonical assisted suicide as a modern au. I have a few others with open endings that could be a bad ending but that's why they're open, to let your imagination make it worse ;)
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
This feels difficult cause like I said, most of my endings are happy, or at least hopeful. I guess the one that's the most like, surprising in how it goes happy is Say It On Video? The trick makes it inherently schmoopier lmao
Do you write crossovers?
Not often, but I have. I think about them more than write them cause honestly it's a lot of work to wrangle everything lmao. I've done Ashes Among the Stars, a kylux and gundam crossover, and also that one time Kylo got facehugger-ed. There's also a wip from when I played Kylo in bg3 that may or may not get finished (post-game kylostarian hatefucking)
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not really honestly? I got accused of plagiarism once because someone didn't realize emperor and hound is indeed a genre in kylux and not one persons fic lmao. If the accusation held weight, I would've addressed it, but it didn't in this case. I did get a weird comment on an original sci-fi horror thing I wrote a while back but tbh that was just someone who found the horror too horror-y so honestly it was kind of a compliment sdsld. But yeah I'm lucky, I haven't really gotten much that I can recall
Do you write smut?
Yep lmao. I like all ratings
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, closest I've done is doing big bangs and bouncing ideas off my partner(s), or going back and forth on headcanons with friends in dms. Both of which are super rewarding, but idk, I'm probably too much of a control freak to actually co-write lmao. I could see if I did rp and then publishing that, but idk if I could co-write. I don't even know how it works like from a mechanical pov
What's your all time favorite ship?
Bold of you to assume I could choose just one
What's a WIP that you want to finish don't think you ever will?
A couple of year ago, I would've said Under Construction lmao, but I finished that one... over a year ago now. Feels like it was way more recent than that. Idk, I have a lot of wips, many of which may never be finished and some of which have been abandoned for a long time. But none of them are like. Super special I guess. I'd love to finish them all. I hope I will, but idk
What are your writing strengths?
I think POV and characterization - I get compliments on this stuff most often too. Like really getting deep into a characters' head so the emotions can hit harder, and cause I write fic, accurate characterization is my number 1 concern so I'm happy that I consistently get compliments on that!
What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm a big fan of deep POV and very like. Interior writing, that's what I like and am good at, but that does I think limit me in terms of making a Big story. My stories tend to be more deep than wide and while I do like that, sometimes I wish I could do something longer or more expansive. Actually do some world-building, get a real cast of characters going. Something like Under Construction for example could've been easily twice the length if I'd gone into more with the Resistance or the villagers. Should it have been? Idk, maybe, people probably would've liked it more at least. I do like a smaller, more detailed story, but it would be fun to pull off something more expansive someday. If I'd done that though I'd still be working on it now lmao. I am happy with how it turned out, it was just one example. Most of my fics could be made bigger
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I think it should be done correctly, I guess - for example, not doing bad, inaccurate stereotypes of bilinguals and stuff. Also I think translations should be provided, either in text (if the pov character understands it) or in the notes (if it's just extra flavour that isn't needed to understand the story as the pov character does)
Funny enough, I did have an idea for a Kylo/Ren/KOR fic where they all speak a language he doesn't and so a horny game of training him literally like a dog by using simple commands he doesn't understand but has to learn if he doesn't want to be punished, but that would require a lot of assistance lmao cause 1) I'm monolingual, 2) the only language I know even remotely well enough to attempt this with is russian and I don't know it THAT well by far, and 3) it's harder to find horny translations than non-horny ones so like. I would need an entire other human to assist me lmao. And I know plenty of people who speak multiple languages but like. I never wrote the rest of the fic either so let's just say it's very likely not happening skdlsdk
What's the first fandom you wrote for?
Technically it was Gundam Seed, some weird reader-insert thing with no romance at all, only suffering sdklsds. That was when I was like 14 though and it's gone from the internet as far as I know (a shame, I'd actually love to find it again, but the site it was on is gone). Then I didn't write for years until I went nuts over dragon age in 2014
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet, but want to?
Honestly I don't even know. At this stage I just want to feel The Urge again and just go absolutely insane over something lmao. I don't even care what tbh
What's your favourite fic you've ever written?
This is never an easy question, and I feel like I always default to 'whatever long thing I wrote most recently' lmao. And tbf I am going to do that again by saying Under Construction, but that one... may actually stay as the favourite for a long time or maybe even forever. Because it was so ambitious, it took me so long (nearly 4 years!!!) and it just. It's got a lot in it, a lot of emotions that I felt all throughout it's writing process, from 2019 through to 2023. There's bitterness and anger and frustration, but there's love and care and passion and just. I have a lot of feelings inside that fic okay lmao
There's one person whose comment included "This fic cares more about [Kylo's] character than the entire movie trilogy did" and it's like. Yes, yes, that's exactly the thing, that's the highest compliment you could give me, that's exactly where it came from. That fic is simultaneously my 95 theses nailed to canon's door, my manifesto directed at the fandom, and my love letter to the character himself as well as the ship. That fic is just so much to me and I really do love Kylo Ren as a character that much, it's honestly hard to describe how significant it is to me. I wonder if I'll ever be able to make anything with more of me in it than that fic
[end of questions]
Anyway, I stole this lmao but I'll still tag some people to keep it going @kylosbreedingkink @aptenodykes @eldritchmochi @iwishtocountthestars but if you see this and you want to do, you are also tagged, please make sure to @ me back so I can read yours!
#I'm on week 2 of being off work so I am seeking more enrichment lmao#and babbling helps!#this was fun#text#misc#shut up nerd#tag games#long post

Hello! I was tagged for this by the marvelous @paperbackribs about... *checks watch* four months ago! I'm so late, I'm sorry, time is meaningless and slippery!
How many works do you have on AO3? 300 (!)
What’s your total AO3 word count? 976,101
What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment, I'm only writing for Stranger Things, but I've written things for about 40ish fandoms over the years.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
In Phony Matrimony [Fantastic Beasts]
Shared Space [Homestuck]
Simple Association [James Bond - Craig movies]
Made with Love (and Yarn) [Stranger Things]
These Days I'm Fine (These Days I Tend to Lie) [Stranger Things]
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! I used to get fewer comments, and it was easier to respond to each of them. Having recently been in some much larger fandoms, though, I've kind of been getting overwhelmed and have fallen behind. I'm so grateful that people take the time to even just send a little heart--to tell me that they read this thing and enjoyed it--and I'd love to respond to everyone, but at this rate I'm not quite sure I'll manage to catch up D:
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably either For the Love of You (James Bond, established 00Q, in which Bond is forced to go after Q when he turns out to be a traitor) or either of the fics in the Forever and Ever, Amen series (also James Bond, 00Q, in which Q is a necromancer and won't let Bond die). I've written other dark things, but I tend towards hopeful endings even with those
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most things I've written! I'm a big fan of happily ever after and I write a lot of short fluff pieces. But as far as fics where the happy ending is sort of earned, I'd say maybe He Dreams, Until Such Time (Hades game, gen, in which Hypnos is the Elysium boss fight after having been banished from the House, and Zagreus finds a way to get him back in) or We Have Surplus If We Need It (Pacific Rim, established Newmann, in which Newt tries to figure out who he is in a post-kaiju world and cooks a lot about it)
Do you get hate on fics?
Not particularly. I've gotten a few randos trying to tell me off for writing slash, and one or two people who were clearly just mad at a specific trope and happened to land on my fic, but I've been very fortunate to get largely positive feedback
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! I'm not sure it's exactly my strongest suit (and, in fact, often worry that it's not very good at all), but I guess I keep at it?? I've written PWP and plotularly significant smut before; whatever serves my purposes at the time
Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not often, but I have! The first fic I ever tried writing on my own was a Buffy/Scooby-Doo crossover, and I've written a fair bit for Gravity Falls/Over the Garden Wall. Not sure how wild either of those are, though?
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I've been alerted to, but I've been posting fic for something like 20 years now, so it wouldn't surprise me if at least one of them has cropped up elsewhere under someone else's name
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yyyyyes...? Pretty sure I remember that happening! I think it was over on ff dot net, so I don't remember which one it was. Good odds it was one of my Criminal Minds fics, though
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
A few times! I've done RP-style co-writing, round robins, half-and-half, and just plain collaborating. Most of them never reached the point of being able to publish, but they were still fun
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Gotta confess: I don't think I have one. My favorite is usually whatever I'm focusing on at the time; I don't dislike ones I've shipped previously, but they tend to settle fondly into the background once I've left a fandom
What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I had a whole Stranger Things fic planned out exploring the potential relationship between Steve and his mom, and I'd love to get at least the bare bones of that done, but there's something about it that just kind of refuses to come
What are your writing strengths?
Characterization and emotion. Emotion is something I feel like I don't identify particularly well in real life, but I think I'm pretty good at getting the intended response from people in my writing. (Also maybe dialogue, but that's just so fun to write)
What are your writing weaknesses?
I! Am! Impatient! I tend to rush through things sometimes and screw the pacing up or skip over important details because I worry writing it out in full will take too long and I'll lose interest. I can also get a little too rigid in trying to achieve a particular outcome, instead of letting the story flow
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't tend to do it, but that's because I'm only fluent in English and don't want to jar anyone with a bad auto-translate job. If someone is speaking another language, I usually try to find a way to signify that based on whether or not the POV character also knows that language
First fandom you wrote for?
It was either HP (forgive me, this was over 20 years ago) or Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Scooby-Doo (crossover fic I wrote when I was, like, nine?)
Favorite fic you’ve written?
Ever?? In my life?? My dude, I could pick a favorite per fandom maybe, but just straight up favorite?? I cannot. Of things written more recently, I'm very fond of Under My Skin (Steddie, exploring the possibility of Steve with physical scars). Of things written slightly less recently, I still have a complicated soft spot for We Have Surplus If We Need It
Gently tagging (if you've already done this, I'm sorry, just ignore me): @spiritofcamelot @ato-the-bean @puppy-steve @emchant3d @lexirosewrites

MUST READS
These are fanfiction that I feel like are must reads. Separated by Fandom. Enjoy!
MCU
🐐Death Before Inaction is literally one of the best Peter Parker fics I've ever read, if you want skewed dynamics, no slash, an OP Peter, and really good story telling this is for you.
The Anomaly is an amazing Into the Spiderverse fic that really goes into Miles character and how giving up; doing everything in your power to prevent something and then it happens anyways, can destroy you and change your perspective. And on the other side how choices can make you regret them.
Bound by a Promise to the Moon is an Avengers work that is focused on characters and relationships between people who have drifted apart. It is IronStrange but nothing in your face for the most part 💀 you can skip those parts if you don't like it😁. It really is worth the read though.
Crossovers
Gaming Spider is a MCU fic that is Peter-centric but be warned because they dropped 8 chapters on the same day in 2022 and haven't updated since. It's so entertaining because Peter just has the Gamer Power (basically Litrpg elements) and grows increasingly stronger after every encounter, and the plot makes sense and isn't only based on the system.
All of the heroes and all of the men, couldn’t save Tommy from getting kidnapped again is such a bias rec on my part, I like crossovers that are done correctly and I was a mcyt and dsmp follower (not really watcher, I can't commit to anything) and this is a story changed by the characters, where the original plot is nothing but a memory to help character development. God I love character development.
BNHA
🐐Parallax is a BNHA fic that is SI and I KNOW BUT HERE ME OUT is basically like if Todoroki was haunted by a physics loving astronomer that made him feel more like someone else, but still kept a lot of what makes him, him. It's so good, like touched me so deeply that I have a hard time explaining it.
A Study In Deceit is a BNHA fic (I know) that is SO FUNNY, basically Bakugou is BBC's Sherlock, but has hid it for all his life, he does cases on the side and turns them in anonymously to the police. It's really good if you're looking for Todoroki and Bakugou friendship.
Foresight now this, this is crack. Want a BNHA fic that speeds through the story in ways that are so funny? Want someone doing something without a clue why? READ THIS. If you know the plot of BNHA it's sometimes easy to guess why he's doing what he's doing but the reactions of other characters is sooo good.
RONIN, ronin, ronin, ronin. This thing is the best ever, BNHA, op Midoriya but now you might be scrolling past, but... It's SO GOOD, BOHB_STEVENS IS A GENIUS this fic was made to practice fighting and ohhhhh did they get plently of practice. If you like fighting scenes that are descriptive, easy to understand, and EXHILARATING read this.
Magneto is an amazingly different BNHA SI fic, where really the story stays the same but I'm a simple person and slice of life interactions can be just as fun as fighting and complicated story telling (the storytelling is good btw) . I think I you want a little angst mixed with mostly good times and crack you should read this.
Pinwheel Eyes is a BNHA if Midoriya had a quirk. But once again the story is original they aren't afraid to make unpopular decisions to keep realism, and he has to win to keep people alive, not just have plot armor. I think if you want amazing fights and to be surprised over and over with how good this is you should read it
Crossovers
🐐A Massacre of One is a BNHA/Worm crossover that is something out of a dream for me. Super long, well written, fight scenes, character development, and well done implementation of other stories elements. With quirks it makes it easy, but still the reactions of others when they figured out what happened is AHHH and the way they make them go through the story is amazing too. Big props to the writer.
Si Vis Pacem is a BNHA/John Wick fic where John Wick (would it be SI?) is reincarnated into Midoriya, and it's pretty good, ngl it updates like 3 times a year so it's been a minute since I've read it, but I remember really liking it.
Be Careful What You Ask Your God is a BNHA and Chainsaw Man crossover where once again (I know I said it wasn't the norm) the characters are the story, here they took a different approach and didn't even focus on the main characters of BNHA and just how the mc's of chainsaw man would live in that world, but the LORE (matpat😭) is interesting.
Misc.
Harry Potter
Porcupine Quills & Potion Spills A Harry Potter (Snape-centric) work. This fic is pretty good, but it's not TOP top tier. The reason it's here is because I've been looking for another fic that has this same idea but none have done it this certain way and I really like the idea. Now it is on Hiatus but its only been a few months, so they'll probably be back (man I hope so).
Crossovers
A Wand for Skitter is a Harry Potter and Worm crossover (if you haven't read worm and appreciate modern sci-fi/eldritch original works you should read it) but the characters are amazing, nothing seems cheap and the ending, THE ENDING it was so good.
Stranger Things
I really didn't mean to hurt anyone is a Stranger Things story that had Steve as Seven. The choices with the way the story is going makes sense and again the characters are so well written. His powers are original and make the story even better and even gets him into some unsavory situations.
Worm
A Wand for Skitter is a Harry Potter and Worm crossover (if you haven't read worm and appreciate modern sci-fi/eldritch original works you should read it) but the characters are amazing, nothing seems cheap and the ending, THE ENDING it was so good.
Kuroko's Basketball
Ball Is Life, But You Still Need To Pay Rent before anything, this work is on hiatus (it hasn't updated since 2022) it's a Kuroko's Basketball fic that is a SI but omg this si is not a John Doe he is so out of pocket I'm not gonna spoil it a lot but if you like the anime you should read this you'll have fun.
The Saga of Tanya the Evil
The Chronicles of Tanya the Fuehrer is another Tanya fic where it's after the war ends, the beginning is amazing, she does get a bit ooc in some parts but other than that the story itself is so entertaining and how they describe things and paint a picture is so beautiful.
Crossovers
A Young Girl's Guerrilla War is a Code Geass and The Saga of Tanya the Evil crossover. It's if Tanya died and was reincarnated again into code geass (another war so on brand) it's something special because it feels like an AU, which so many crossovers can't accomplish, they just follow the plot of the story with new characters without changing the world based on their characters actions. This story is Amazing and something that should become a norm within the trope.

MCYT/DSMP
Weapon Reforged is something everyone should experience even if they don't know the fandom (I'm not even gonna say it but don't be pushed off once you see it because the story is original and uses characters simple traits to build new ones off of) it's an amazing work of art that is near and dear to me in a big way, it hasnt updated since 2021 but you have to, HAVE TO read this.
Crossovers
All of the heroes and all of the men, couldn’t save Tommy from getting kidnapped again is such a bias rec on my part, I like crossovers that are done correctly and I was a mcyt and dsmp follower (not really watcher, I can't commit to anything) and this is a story changed by the characters, where the original plot is nothing but a memory to help character development. God I love character development.
Blue Lock
A Child's Dream is a Blue Lock fic that is the only reasonabley lengthed fic that isn't slash that I have found. Theres a lot of simping for Isagi but that's normal enough. The development is interesting and keeps you engaged and the interactions are funny and so out of left pocket most of the time.
Déjà Vu is a Blue Lock fic that is probably abandoned, but the idea and execution make up for it, it's also short so don't worry about slogging through 100,000 words then figuring out it's abandoned. It's kind of crack-like but more serious than you would expect.
Miraculous Ladybug
(pockets full of) Stones is a Miraculous Ladybug one shot that is somewhat tear inducing and very realistic. Want a AroAce Adrien Agreste? READ THIS

better late than never: my 2024 podfic stats round up!
things have been hectic with VTMB 2024, going back to work, and Poly*PodWeek starting up but I finally garnered the energy/attention to create my graphics! 2022 roundup | 2023 roundup
each mic = 5 podfics
One change I've already made on my 2025 spreadsheet is tracking better when I record lines for a multivoice! In 2024, if my lines weren't significant, I didn't track it. Which meant I had to search through my spreadsheet and compare it to my multivoice pseud to determine numbers & they may be a little off. This year, I am including it all!
Looking at the numbers... I podded the MOST in January [12 hours, 35 minutes, & 47 seconds]. I podded the LEAST in February [44 minutes, 35 seconds].
These trend a little bit more expected than last year's did! I definitely burnt out in February and then March/April are very busy months for me. But May is, as well, it's just that Voiceteam has me going nuts despite that. June we moved, so I didn't do much, and then July/August I'm off for break! When December rolls back around, I'm making a lot more for ITPE & VTMB.
Here are some of my "top 5" stats:
The first image shows Star Wars, DC, & Danny Phantom for my top podded fandoms but this is the further breakdown. As you can see, of my 96 Star Wars podfics, 60 were Clone Wars. Of my 93 DC podfics, 38 were DPxDC and 30 were Batman/Batfam.
@wanderingjedihistorian is once again my most podded author! Last year she tied with @blackkatmagic but blackkat fell to 4th this year. (I have already podded 8 blackkat fics in 2025, though, so I expect that to change!) @flowerparrish was 2nd this year and I was actually 3rd. I wrote a lot more this year and Perry & I collaborated to pod a lot of those. My 5th place was @theredshirtsarecoming, who is my favorite crossover author so I was surprised she wasn't higher than that!
I podded the most Teen & Up fics with General Audiences in close second. This makes sense because I by far podded the most genfic this year, as opposed to shipping fics. My M/M stat made me laugh, as I am immature. I podded 2 "other" fics, also!
I made the most fics without music but managed to use Taylor in a whopping 37 fics. My most podded for event was Voiceteam (hence the SPIKE) in May but Summer Swap (July/August) was in close second. Some of the Voiceteam fics were birthday gifts (and vice versa).
Some miscellaneous stats:
I podded 118 unique authors, with 81 of them being only podded once! I podded 55 unique fandoms, with 36 of them being only podded once. Now, in there, this does include the misc. crossovers that are tracked in the previous graphic. I used 73 different musical artists/bands - this includes "no music" and "soundtrack" - with 52 of them only being used once.
& the final graphic, which was the hardest to make. Originally I went with 20 but then I just was struggling too much so... My 25 favorite cover arts that I made for my own podfics only:
Now, this is already long, but I've always provided a little insight into my tracking. So, below the cut are screenshots from my spreadsheet!
Before that though, last but not least, my 2025 fandom resolutions: ★ Podfic more multichapter fics (I let my fear of updating stop me) ★ Podfic more of @wanderingjedihistorian's Here There Be Dragons ★ Podfic more Soft Wars ★ Keep writing! I wrote so much in 2024 and I don't want to lose that ★ Get back to the WWT games in the Haunting Heroes discord ★ Worry less about kudos/comments for series I love (create anyway)
SHEET 1: The years broken down (including what I've already done in 2025)
SHEET 2: Where I actually track the podfics!
The totals by month are tabulated on this sheet for ease of layout.
This is the order the columns go in. I don't track word count on this sheet (though I typically do for event planning and such). I also color code using conditional formatting for various events / podfic length but it would be hard to show that lol
SHEET 3: Where the data for the statistics is pulled!
Basically, any time one of those is mentioned, it adds up here. Fics under multiple categories will add a number to each listed category, which is why it doesn't align perfectly with number of fics made!
Every time I track a new event, it also tabulates here. That's why I don't double track events -- I can't say for certain at the beginning of the year what I'll do, so I prefer for it to add them as I go. But, I am considering changing it up and manually adding them so I can instead track for things like "I made this for Voiceteam but also for a birthday present." Unsure yet.
Authors, fandoms, and music tabulate the same way. I add them to my tracker, the table adds a new row and begins to count how many times I use them.
An additional set of tables on this sheet break down the internal fandoms for Star Wars & DC:
Some big changes from 2023 to 2024:
Started tracking music
Started tracking events
Stopped making graphs (I track too much information now and they take up too much room)
Started tables for the above SW & DC breakdowns
Started uploading to the Audiofic Archive (and became an archiver there, as well!)
NOW, some changes I've made in 2025 already, since I'm posting this so late.
I'm now tracking the exact work I put into a fic, which will help with multivoice tracking at the end of the year! It also will help with more accurate fandom & author tracking, as before if my part in a multivoice was too small, I just didn't track it. I also broke Star Wars & DC down more, since I typically pod very specific DC crossovers and wanted to track how many times I crossover my Big Two Fandoms.
And there you have it! A little late but that's okay. Not tracked includes at least one podfic I recorded but never edited (in 2024 or 2025). I don't track individual chapters for fandom/author/music stats. I don't track based on when I post, I tracked based on when it was recorded!
Have a great year! Here's to creating more and more.

✏️ new year, new wip game 🖋️
the rules: list all your wips (or as many as you feel comfortable sharing), and open your ask box for people to inquire! share the ideas you had, any for it, a snip if you're feeling generous! whatever makes your lil heart happy.
Tagged by: the lovely @not-so-mundane-after-all my bestie in Rot 🖤💙
I don't have many actual wips. A lot of my ideas are just that, ideas. I'll add my favorite ideas since they're more likely to be written.
First, the actual wips:
1. Escapism - Wow! Surprise to no one! It's all I've been writing for three years! The fic was born because I wanted to give Jon and Gar some spotlight and develop their characters because their respective shows sure didn’t. It was supposed to be more like a sit-com with each chapter being a different but somewhat connected story, but it quickly got out of hand and now it's a 100,000+ word beast with a storyline it follows. More angst/hurt + comfort than anything else and A LOT of character development/exploration.
25 chapters out of 30 done. Last chapter I posted was "The Monster Hunter", now I'm onto the next: "The Monster".
2. please don't take my sunshine away - a more angsty version of Jon's "death" scene from s4 cause I knew it'd need to be slowed down so it could have more emotion. My first and only fic I'll write in Jordan's pov.
3. name in progress - i can’t say too much cause it's Mundi's christmas gift.. season 4 au mostly focused on her favorite bluebirds with some Codycore sprinkled in. I'm hoping I can post it today or early tomorrow.
4. "come with me (I want to show you something more)" - the most self indulgent fic ever. Jon running away from home after the events of season 2 finds himself in Titans season 1 where he runs into Gar in the woods and Gar takes him back to Doom Manor. In a nutshell, it's if Gar met Jon instead of Rachel in s1 ep4.
I also want to use this to explore Gar's character since season 1 (while the better season) still lacked in letting him be a character with depth and feelings.
Now onto the ideas:
1. they don't know you've haunted me, so stunningly - Gar's ex-friend: the rich and famous starboy Jonathan El, who betrayed his trust years ago, shows up on his doorstep. He's soaked from the pouring rain with these sad, pleading eyes, and he asks Gar for help cause he has no one else. Of course, right when Gar is starting to feel better and move on, he shows up and now feelings are about to become messier than before, but deep down Gar still cares and lets him into his house. This one decision causes a ripple effect and Rachel might not forgive Gar this time.
this is gonna take some explaining, months ago I read @not-so-mundane-after-all and @wonderbatwayne 's masterpiece of a fic Wicked Game and saying I got brainrot would be an understatement. The universe was so interesting and full of potential, it's such an unique au with so much love put into it, I fell in love. Long story short, Mundi and I got to chatting cause I wouldn't shut up about an au where I could give Gar a story, and that simple au ended up being an entire idea we planned together to be set in the universe itself; not an au.
This fic would take place many years after the original fic though. And the Jon in this fic is our own Jon made for the Wicked Game universe specifically, but Jon-El and s&l's version of the Bizarro World was an inspiration since they fit Wicked Game's theme extremely well.
2. A Superman and Lois/Titans crossover - a mixture of s1 Titans and post s1-pre s2 s&l. Needing help in his mission to keep Rachel safe from the people hunting her, Dick takes the group to Smallville to meet up with his old friend Clark Kent, who might be only person who can keep both kids safe while he and Kory leave to investigate further and gain more information to stop the end of the world, Lois comes along cause she thinks Dick could use a professional's help.
The kids are supposed to stay at the Kent farm but Gar leaves to wander around town and ends up meeting the boys who are at football practice (and by practice I mean Jon is sitting on the bench cause the coach hates him and Jordan, who's not a player anymore, is keeping him company).
3. Some s&l episode rewrites but in my power swap au aka an au where Jon gets powers first and how differently the show would have went if that was the case.
4. Something that involves Jon-El since I don't think I've ever written a fic about him... which is surprising since he's a part of my brainrot trio. I'm thinking of fic where Jon-El's second chance is having to live with the Kents since they're the only people Sam trusts to keep him in-check.

Fanfiction Author Interview Game
Thank you @mithrilhearts for the tag! (o゚v゚)ノ
How many works do you have on AO3?
168 presently
What's your total AO3 word count?
908,813
Your top 5 stories by kudos/likes:
Carpe Natem (I blame this popularity of this on Spanish Tiktok, where apparently someone linked to this fic)
Transcript of Divorce Proceedings: Mairon v. Melkor
Surprise Developments (Recalculating)
The Sleeping King
Laying a Foundation
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Almost always! I always like to acknowledge people taking the time to say something about the fic.
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Well that's certainly debatable lol
Silenced? (Maglor gets his mouth sewn shut by brigands)
Asphodel? (Daeron visits the aftermath of the Nirnaeth where his lover Fingon died)
A Silent Echo? (Fingon and Fingolfin process Turgon and Aredhel's disappearance)
Something Sleepless in Mirkwood? (Thranduil is terminally ill and Elrond doesn't want to believe it)
Haunted, Hunted? (Elwing is hunted by the sons of Feanor)
Sandbox Love? (Galadriel is in love with Luthien who has other things to do)
One Last Song? (Daeron visits Luthien on her deathbed)
Extinguished? (Feanor and Nerdanel arrive at the scene of Finwe's murder)
A Cup Always Half-Empty? (Maglor pines)
Queen Under the Mountain? (Dis after the events of The Hobbit)
I could go on
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
In terms of relativity to canon, definitely What the Water Gave Me, a fix-it of sorts for Nienor and Finduilas. But I've written lots of other random fluff pieces that have no angst at all.
Do you write crossovers?
No, not my thing. I've written AUs of other works, like my Silmarillion Crimson Peak AU, but I don't count that as a genuine crossover because no Crimson Peak characters are in the fic.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Once in a while, but very infrequently.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do...not sure how to characterize the "kind" though. The smutty kind.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yeah! Can't remember which ones though! It's in the author's notes somewhere.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I tried one time and I was a terrible partner and I felt so bad I've never done it again. I work better alone.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Too hard to say!
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
Ahh several, unfortunately. I had one that was about Sauron and Tar-Miriel in Numenor, but I could never get the tone right, so that one's dead tbh I also had a modern AU about Aredhel returning home for the holidays after disappearing (and marrying Eol) but that also never got finished...There was also a follow-up to my f!Thingdhros smut that involved Daemags dyke drama
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, for sure.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Soooo bad at scene-setting. The characters are arguing in The Void.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Very much not a fan. Unless there's an immediate translation, it's just distracting and I don't think it really adds anything. Someone who doesn't speak the language isn't even going to know how to read it so they're not even getting the "sound" of it. The more of it there is, the more distracting and annoying it is.
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
I'm not even halfway through Veilguard yet, but I assume there will eventually be fic.
What's your favorite fic you've written?
Couldn't possibly say honestly...many of them are difficult to compare because they're just very different

Ask Game!
Thank you to @sapphosewrites for thinking of me for this <3
How many works do you have on AO3?
I'm almost up there with Sapphose-- I've got 141, though I really need to finish tranferring my really old fics from my fanfiction.net account.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
Those 141 fics give me a grand total of 969,127 words.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
My biggest fandoms are The Penumbra Podcast, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Welcome To Night Vale (that's an oldie, hot damn) and Les Miserables, with Les Mis being the most recent one I've been active in.
4. Top 5 Fics By Kudos
I'm honestly surprised that Haunting, but not haunted (Penumbra Podcast ghost AU) has overtaken The Issue of Omniscience (WTNV). Just Like an Angel (WTNV Wingfic) ranks just behind those two, then The Case Files of J. Steel (a very very large Penumbra Poscast one-shot collection). What surprised me was I Could Be Your Own Avenging Angel (DS9 alternate take on Empok Nor) making the top five-- apparently that one's gotten some recs lately, which pleases me immensely. The fact that all of these are fairly sexy is not a surprise to me.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I read them all, I squee in delight at them all, but a lot of times I'm just flummoxed about what to say in response. I know theoretically just a quick 'thank you' is appropriate, but it feels... I dunno, trite?
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Listen, I'm an absolute sucker for angst, but I tend to go with bittersweet rather than outright angst in the ending.
Just a Little Wooden Boy (OFMD) is the most recent, and plays hard with the idea of deep hurt turning love into something cold that can't be fixed. (Like a Terrier (Sherlock) has a similar vibe.)
Stay With Me (Wolf 359) just plain tragedy. Eiffel succumbs to the Decima virus, the other humans are forced to flee the station, and so Hera is left to comfort him in his final hours. It's in the same vein as The Way Things End (Supernatural) and Off the Path (Bioshock Infinite) where they're very much about accepting death when it can't be fought anymore-- but in the other two, there's the hope of accompanying your loved one on the other side, where Hera is now just trapped alone with her grief and the body of her friend.
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I genuinely don't know how you would even go about judging that.
Most of my multichapter fics end with the idea that there's still work to be done-- causes to fight for, mental illness to struggle against, relationship issues to work out. The thing is that they now have a framework for dealing with the problem at hand.
So given that-- Of the Rapture That Impels (Les Miserables) deals with sinking into grief and despair and ends with actually being able to see a light at the end, which is pretty much the epitome of a happy ending in my book.
Skin and Scales (Penumbra Podcast) has the most classically happy ending, I think.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thank all that is holy, I haven't gotten direct hate on fics since high school-- the fandoms I've been in have been lovely, and anyone who has unkind things to say about them has been polite enough to do it where I don't need to see it.
9. Do you write smut?
Yup.
10. Craziest crossover
I almost never do crossovers, actually. But years ago (so long ago that it hasn't actually been migrated to AO3 yet) I wrote a 9/Labyrinth crossover in which 7 was in fact Sarah, transfigured by the Goblin King in order to save her from the machine apocalypse.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I think they might have been yanked over to wattpad or whatever once or twice. It happens, it gets reported, I move on.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't believe so-- or if it's happened, it was long enough ago that I've forgotten.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes. And let me tell you, I am very bad at being a co-writer. The more successful stuff looks less like co-writing and more like parallel play in the same sandbox.
14. All time favorite ship?
I'm with Sapphose here in that I don't have one favorite ship, so much as I have a favorite dynamic. I'm a sucker for damaged, self-loathing characters who are so determined to do right by the person they love that they wind up becoming better (stronger, happier) people for it.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Just one?
Probably A Dynasty of Liars (DS9). I love that story so much, but I genuinely have no idea where it would go next or how I would execute it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm told that my angst is pretty damn solid, and that I can get voices pretty well.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Scene transitions, and particularly those detailed descriptions where we describe where we're at. It's one of the things I can get away with more in fanfic than in original writing, because a couple references will convey which setpiece we're in so I don't have to do the work. In anything remotely original, that's a much bigger problem.
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I'm in camp 'translate if the POV character knows it', with the addendum that "and they continued to speak in[language]" tends to be much more effective than actually writing long stretches of that other language, particularly if it's one that the writer isn't fluent in. If the reader doesn't know the second language, it conveys about as much as a keysmash. If they do, then you're prone to embarrassing goofs where you translate something badly without knowing.
19. First fandom you wrote in?
Lord of the Rings. A self-insert, Boromir-lives AU.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Pretty much any longfic that I've actually completed, I think. But lately, I'm partial to A Change of a Bizarre Kind (Les Miserables), because I did some stuff with the POV and structure that I'm really proud of.
Now that you've gotten to see me ramble, I'll go ahead and tag @ryosei-hime, @aftershocked, and @alecjmarsh

WinterBones
“Whaddya mean, Buck?” Steve asked, feeling his heart sink to somewhere around his stomach.
“You're gonna be upset,” Bucky responded, still calmly as though he wasn't confirming all of Steve's fears. “You can't act on it. Got it?”
“Buck….”
“You are not allowed to try to ruin this for me!” Bucky snapped. “It won't work, and it'll just piss me off. Understand?” Steve jerked at the sudden flare of anger, but it did relax him some. If Bucky was this willing to defend what he wanted, then maybe it would be alright.
“Okay, Buck. I won’t try to stop you.” Bucky relaxed with a slight smile, darting in for a hug that was over almost before Steve had registered he was being hugged. He followed Bucky into the house with a bemused smile.

WinterBones
‘Rumlow, the Asset has left containment. We’re hoping it’s heading to you.’
“What the fuck do you mean ‘the Asset has left containment’? The Asset was in cryostorage! What the fuck did you dipshits screw up now?!”
‘There’s a video clip in your email, sir.’ Brock grumbled to himself as he cued up the attachment, but quickly fell silent in shock as he watched the perfectly functional cryostorage tank explode open from the inside. He’d verified that tank when they’d put the Asset into cryosleep, and from the image it looked like it was working just as well when the clip started as when he’d left it.
“What the fuck is that?” he demanded, feeling almost hysterical at the sight of the icy apparition that he could barely see his Soldier in even before it was shrouded with fog.
‘We don’t know, sir. Something’s happened to the Asset.’
“You fucking think?”
I- from my as yet untitled IronSoldier fill
Tony Stark/ Bucky Barnes/ Jason Todd
‘I'm glad you guys are learning to work together.’ Oracle’s voice was painfully neutral, and Jason knew that no matter what she said she didn't approve of him being around Tim. It was understandable. He'd tried to clip the little bird's wings once, and there wasn't any real reason to think he wouldn't do it again. It was a good bit of why he avoided all the bats as much as he could. They said they wanted him around, but they were always afraid he would fall back into the violence of the early days of his return to Gotham. Honestly Tim was the one who talked to him the most, and he only called when he needed help. Tim trusted him to get the job done at least. It was more than he got from anyone else.

Dick Grayson/ Jason Todd/ Tim Drake
Tim woke slowly, luxuriating in the unusual warmth surrounding him. Gentle hands were stroking lightly across his torso, making him smile. He was pulled up against a warm body that he thought he would recognize even if he were dead.
"Dickie, that tickles," he murmured, too content to actually try to move away.
"Tickles, huh?" Dick murmured into his ear. His hands slid softly to settle on Tim's stomach, and then over to take Tim's hands in his, letting Tim thread their fingers together. Tim gasped as more hands slid up his sides to pluck gently at his nipples, l his eyes to see Jason smirking wickedly at him. He leaned forwards as far as he could to press his lips to that smirk, enjoying the way Jason immediately softened to kiss him. The Red Hood may be harsh and violent, but Jason was so… soft. Gentle. Tim could hardly believe they were the same person. It was hard for him to believe that his Robin would kill, despite the logic of his arguments. Though, given how annoyed Robin had been at the revolving door policy at Blackgate and Arkham, maybe it shouldn't be so surprising.

Elliot shook his head fondly as he listened to Parker and Hardison squabbling amicably over whatever it was that they'd found. He wasn't sure what it was, didn't think they knew either, but they were both interested. That was rare enough that he was headed up to look. The building was completely empty anyway and he was bored. He walked through the door and his heart almost stopped.
“Hardison, Parker, get out of there!” He rushed to the zeta tube the other two were standing inside. Harrison looked up from his tablet, taking in the panicked expression on his friend's face.
“Elliot, it's alright. I've almost got it.”
“It's all- It's not all right! Get the hell out of that thing, now!” Parker dropped from the ceiling of the tube, looking at Elliot curiously. Elliot had almost reached the door to drag them out when it activated. “Damnit Hardison!”
Elliot approached the zeta tube cautiously, eying the control panel wistfully. Surely they'd removed his zeta access by now. It has been almost two decades since he'd last had contact with anyone from the hero world. It would be beyond careless for them to have left his access, and if there was one thing Batman wasn't, it was careless. He stepped into the zeta, putting his hand on the pad automatically.
‘Welcome, Honeybadger. Destination?’ He reached out with his other hand to tap the screen, looking for where his friends had been sent as he tried to find his voice through the rush of emotion. He sighed.
“Watchtower.”
‘You are cleared for Watchtower access.’

20 questions for fic writers!
Thank you @artsyunderstudy for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
28, though one was a round robin where I only wrote one of the chapters.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
838, 380. Subtracting Birthday Man (the round robin fic), I've written, by myself, 799, 248. I'm not surprised. I'm not good at brevity. (And I have over a hundred thousand words in unpublished fics right now 😅)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Only Carry On, though I've made a habit of sticking Simon and Baz into fandom loves of my youth.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Oh, Have You Seen The Fairies Dance, my CORB from two years ago, writing to art by @krisrix. 562 Kudos
Playing With Fire, Treading Thin Ice, my pinch-hit CORB, also from two years ago (I sense a trend), writing to art by @steppjes. 453 kudos
Back To Start, my Simon youthens Baz into a baby fic, 447 kudos
A Fucked Up Cinderella Story, a Simon as escort fic, and my first collaboration with my dear friend (and a brilliant artist), @frjsti. 339 kudos.
A Real Doll, my first real PWP (ok, it sort of has a plot) (a very thin one), written for @captain-aralias's Monster Under the Bed Fest, 331 kudos.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! It means a lot to me to hear how folk enjoyed my work, and I appreciate how much effort it takes to reach out sometimes, so I want to show my appreciation. I should be better at commenting myself!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Readers nearly burned me at the stake over my ending to The Blue and The Gray, where Simon rides away with his Union troop, leaving Baz behind at his plantation home. Even the 'happy ending' epilogue I wrote, to get them back together, is bittersweet, because Simon is damaged from the war and it will be a long road to recovery (or at least the length of the Oregon Trail 😉) (If you know, you know).
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I only do happy endings, but, like Ashton, I tend towards angst a lot of the time. So I think that my most meaningful happy ending is in New Year, New Me, which takes Simon and Baz literal to the end, of their long lives together (with a gorgeous song written by @moodandmist and @cutestkilla!)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet! I've gotten a few corrections, which I honestly don't mind. I'd rather be corrected than leave a glaring error in a fic. I agree with Ashton, this is an incredibly kind fandom.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Uh <looks side to side shiftily> yes? Like, a lot? It's funny, because I'm ace, but I find all the ways humans can relate to one another through sex fascinating, even if I don't need those things for myself. I'd say I write mostly bonding through sex? Occasional fucking just 'cause it's fun, but mostly soulful, loving sex.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not crossovers precisely, (I don't mix in characters from other fandoms) but I'm extremely guilty of throwing SnowBaz into any story, show, or movie I've loved and putting them through their paces:
The Watford Games: Simon and Baz in a Hunger Games Scenario
The White Chapel: Simon replacing Olivia Newton John in the movie Xanadu
The Snow Fox: (unfinished) Simon as the Francis Marion Character in the old Disney TV show, the Swamp Fox.
Episode 2: The Naked Next, (gift fic for @raenestee) (I blame this one on @facewithoutheart), Simon and Baz in the Star Trek Universe.
and, Stars, Flowers, and Children, an unpublished (part done) fic set in the universe of the movie the Blue Lagoon, and To Heal a Broken Mind, an unpublished (nearly finished) fic set in a scenario similar to the TV show House MD.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Fingers crossed, but no, I don't think so. Probably hard to pass off a seventy thousand word fic as your own that you just popped up with out of nowhere.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Only the round robin fic, Birthday Man, where each of several fic writers wrote a chapter for Simon's birthday celebration, and the Star Trek Universe fic, The Naked Next (linked above). But I'd definitely give co-writer credit to many of the fandom artists I've worked with, because their work either inspired my words, or they even helped guide the evolution of the fic in the background. I especially have to give credit to @krisrix, @ivelovedhimthroughworse, @frjsti, and @artsyunderstudy for being brilliant at helping me flesh out the fics they did art for!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Gee. Bet you can't guess.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
This is a tough one because I've (so far) never not finished a fic I've committed to (I've got a few paragraphs of a few random ideas in my files, but nothing I ever advertised or put much effort into). But I'm also perpetually in the middle of at least five or six fics, so leaving one dangling remains possible, even if I desperately hope it won't happen. I guess I'll mention Westward Son here, because though it ought to be finished in the next couple of weeks, it took me two fucking years to get there!
16. What are your writing strengths?
I don't get writer's block. I think my habit of fic jumping helps with this; if one fic is dragging, I can spend more time on another until words start to flow for the first one again. I do force myself to write at least a sentence every couple of days, even on the draggy fics, though. I think I'm decent at characterization? Especially Simon, because I identify with his way of thinking a lot. I also think I'm decent at giving the reader a strong visual of what's going on in a scene (hopefully).
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Plot and tech. I can write plot, but not snappy, quickly resolved ones. For me to find my way to the end of a plot usually takes several thousand words. And that's a weakness, not being able to write short. I don't know how to be interesting in small bites, I guess. And tech: I'm intimidated by incorporating modern tech like social media, etc. in my fics. I always feel like I can't format it correctly or make it look/sound realistic enough, so I tend to avoid fic ideas that are tech based, like text fics or social media fics. Aaaaand now I'm writing a fic based in Tiktok, a platform I do NOT know well. Pray for me.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've done it once (in The Blue and The Gray), but I'm nervous about it. I think I'm afraid of misinterpreting a connotation of a word or phrase. I researched extensively for the Spanish lullaby in The Blue and the Gray, and even the Greek and Latin phrases in Back to Start and The Watford Games. I don't mind it in fics, so long as the meaning isn't integral to the scene (like using French swears in a fic set in French Canada) (@bazzybelle, I'm looking at you!). If the meaning is integral, I tend to prefer the translations be not far away (like at the end of the fic), but rather just a few lines down (like at the end of a chapter), because it's frustrating having to jump back and forth to get meaning from what I'm reading.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
CSI, on fanfic.net. But I only wrote one fic. Don't look for it. I didn't have this username and I'm not interested in reliving that part of my life 😆
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I think it will always be Back to Start (linked above). I still love the premise and it was the first fic that made me feel like a real writer. You don't forget that feeling. It's my baby.
How about, instead of tagging folk, you consider yourself tagged if you're one of the many people I mentioned above? 😂

Fanfic writers wrapped:

2. Did you have any fic writing goals? Did you meet them?
23 Were there any ideas you wanted to work on this year but you didn’t?
Fanfic Writer Wrapped ‘24
1. What fic did you work on the most this year?
I think far and away that has to be One Moment Sooner. I spent a decent chunk of time working on the fic I did for PF Week and then I had to finish off what few chapters were left of Fidelitas, but all four of the currently published chapters of One Moment (most of which are of a significant length) were written during this year so. Yeah. Honestly I'm hardly surprised, because it's been my passion project and I high key kinda miss working on it as I've been focused on holiday/special fics.
2. Did you have any fic writing goals? Did you meet them?
I had a few goals actually! I wanted to make sure I took part in more community fic writing events like the aforementioned PF week and the currently ongoing Secret Santa event in the PF server, which I've done and have really enjoyed. My other big goal was to finally finish writing Fidelitas, aka the first ever big multi-chapter fic I've ever completed, and honestly it still feels a little like a dream I'm afraid I'll wake up from lol. I don't know what this game did to my brain but it really got its claws in good.
23. Were there any ideas you wanted to work on this year but you didn’t?
Oh man oh man. YEAH. I had this idea in my head at the beginning of the year that I might be able to at least start working on my ffxv and ffxvi crossover fic, Arma Deorum Sunt, which has been gnawing at the bars in the back of my head for longer than One Moment Sooner has. (I mean for god's sake it already has a TITLE before i've even written it, that never happens with me.) But I know without a doubt that to really give it the focus it deserves I needed to wrap up the two (now just one!) big ongoing fics I' was working've been working on. I also just have way too many smaller fic ideas on the backburner that I hope to tinker with whenever I need a break from my bigger projects. Clones, alternate endings, hypnosis, so much more smut, oh my!
Here's hoping things go smoothly in the new year.

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you @yoellglia, @kingfisherprince and @shambolicchaos for tagging me even though I haven't done one of these in months, I appreciate it <3 And look at this, I am actually doing a tag game.
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 57. How did that happen.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
418,066. Some of those 57 are pretty long ;-)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Well I won't list them all, we'll be here tomorrow. The published ones are mainly: Tatort, Good Omens, Potter, Tennis RPF, Skating RPF and a few Music RPFs. There's an awful lot of WiPs from Sherlock Holmes to Poirot to Star Trek to Oasis to Austen to various Panel Shows to Les Miz to The Hobbit and back again though. Plus WiPs for all the published fandoms. Sigh.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Alright this is going to be a trip down memory lane, seeing as I'm mostly active in very niche fandoms these days. Also, this statistic is perhaps skewed by the fact that lots of my fics are in German (a few nearly made it onto the list though!) and my RPF is locked (for registered users only).
Days in the Sun: Tops the list by a very long way. Harry Potter. A Snape/Hermione post war fic published in 2018. I'm a different writer these days but I still like lots of things about it.
To Trust in One Another: Good Omens. Aziraphale/Crowley post Season 1. I remember the response to this overwhelming me at the time, I had never gotten so many comments so quickly after posting and haven't since. This fandom is so lovely (and filled with writers!).
To those who wait, eventually: Harry Potter. Snape/McGonagall. I love this pairing and this story. And while I am very surprised that both the Potter Fics I actually published are het, I am not surprised they both feature Severus Snape.
Almost Too Kind, or: Prometo: Figure Skating RPF. Yuzu/Javi. I still like the Yuzu POV, although I think I've perhaps written more interesting skating stories, but this was obviously the most popular parinig at the time. Hence the amount of kudos I guess.
Language Barrier Sidestepped: Figure Skating RPF. Yuzu/Javi. This one surprised me because it's just a silly fluffy oneshot. But with some language nerdship in the title and the story (that part is less surprising, if you know me)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always, and sometimes too verbosely :D I like a good comment discussion and I have made friends that way.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Angsty endings? Me? I would if I could. Maybe some day. I guess the angstiest one is this unrequited love drabble in the Tatort Münster Fandom.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Well, most of them have pretty happy endings, I think.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not so far. Most of the comments I get are really nice. I can remember only a handful slightly weird ones over the years.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No one is more surprised than me, but yes. In my case, it's usually part of a story and has a function in the story. But it can be pretty graphic because it's weird to me to treat sex as something to gloss over. That being said, sometimes a story decides on a fade to black. On the other end of the spectrum, I've also come pretty close to writing PwP, depending on your definition of it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Never written one, very rarely read them.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
People have asked for permission several times and I always grant it (of course I do) but I don't think I've ever gotten a link to a finished translation (which I always ask for). I get it though, some of my stories are pretty long and I know all about the difficulties of translation :-)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
It's not finished but I hope we can get back to it @kingfisherprince! I might not always be the easiest person to work with, but I thoroughly enjoyed it so far.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I don't have one, I write whatever pairing is interesting to me. And would love to write more gen fic if inspiration strikes. The concept of an OTP used to make no senses to me either, though I guess I've come close with Novandy in the Tennis fandom. I still write lots of other stuff in that fandom though.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have trouble going back to the Potter stuff for various reasons. Would love to finish a Snarry which is already at almost 30k but doubt I will. I also have a Poirot/Hastings case fic I really want to finish but (see writing weaknesses)
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm not sure. I hope Í write realistic relationships that make sense in the story. I try to write clear prose that's not too cluttered (I don't always succeed). Sometimes with my longer fics I've managed to slightly miraculously tie things together, which is amazing to me when it happens but I can't control that at all.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I sometimes overexplain. I tend to forget about 'setting the scene' descriptions now and then. And the big one: I can't plot for the life of me, I write as I go along, which isn't always a problem but definitely is when you try to write a murder mystery (I've got an unfinished Poirot one and an unfinished Tatort Münster one which I would love to continue).
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I like it, though I tend to use it relatively sparingly and either add translations or try to make it clear in other ways in the text what was being said (a translation degree comes in handy for this).
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Well the first time I tried writing fic it was Kirk/Spock but the first thing I finished and published was Tatort Münster.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Don't do this to me. The answer will be different every day, I think, and for lots of reasons. This is not me being pretentious (I hope), because I would have just as much trouble choosing my favourite song or book etc. Let's pick Two and Two Together for today because I never would have thought I'd write a 42k poly fic, but here we are. I think we've established I sometimes surprise myself.
Tagging: I think most of the writers on my dash have been tagged... but maybe @bonos-grindcore-sideproject and @advantage-sinner and @savageandwise and @all-my-worlds-a-stage if you want to do it?

FANFIC TAGGING GAME
I got (honorable) tagged by the wonderful @theartofdreaming1- thanks!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? - 321
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,322,068 words (at the moment)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Still writing for The Flash, but every once in a while a new show/movie grabs my fancy and I write a few fics for that.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
An unimpressive bunch but here goes: Muse (456), Replacement Scrunchie (393), Fallen Star (357), Inconvenient Inspiration (343), and Drabbles (277). Muse is a handful of one-shots based solely off spoilers before I saw the eps they were for. Replacement Scrunchie is my sole fic for the TATBILB fandom about Peter & LJ's first date (which was way less impressive than what the sequel movie gave us, WOW). Fallen Star is my most popular westallen fic to date, so that one's actually not too surprising. But both Inconvenient Inspiration and Drabbles are requested (the latter) and spontaneous (the former) brainstorming ficlets and snippets for The Flash/WA. Bo-ring.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Eventually.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh, gosh, I have so many unfinished fics that it's hard to remember the complete ones that I finished that didn't end so happy, of which there aren't many. Maybe...Breaking Point though.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All the others have happy endings. Go read them. Lol.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
When I wrote for another fandom I did, but not really in The Flash fandom, which is nice.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yep. And uh...descriptive, I guess? I'm def not the best out there, but I do my best and for the most part smut-lovers seem to enjoy.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I've attempted a couple crossovers, but I haven't completed any or gotten far with them, usually because there wasn't an audience for it.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yeah, I discovered a whole bunch on another website years ago.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
In the process of it!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Stuck on Westallen atm, but I used to write Chair, and I was highly obsessed with them as well.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oh god, I have SO MANY WIPs. One that I really want to finish but fear I won't though has got to be He's MY Barry Allen. I'm just stuck on what the next chapter will look like, and as of yet no one has come forward with a solution. Lol. The Problem is Tony Woodward is another one like that.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'd like to think I can hook people into my fics fairly well and drop enough cliffies to keep them coming back for more. But ofc the smut helps too. Most of my fics include at least some smut, even a single scene.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Sometimes I have trouble making a chapter (or a scene for that matter) all that long. I've seen people write like 10k+ for a chap, and unless I'm crazy inspired, roughly 1-3k is what you're getting.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I actually dabbled in this a little bit for a westallen fic where Iris was learning Italian, I think? I did some research and managed to sift in enough for that one-shot, but I can't imagine I'd do it repeatedly or for a multi-chap.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I believe it was the STAR WARS prequels, but it might've been The Day After Tomorrow.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
It's unfinished, but there's so much untapped potential in my Flashpoint fic. Lots of world-building that's present as it rides the line between canon divergent and AU. Hopefully one day I'll get back to it.
...
As much as I'd love to tag a bunch of people, I can't recall anyone who still writes fic that I follow on here, so I'll just shout out my bestie @simplylove101 who is prob done with writing but may want to answer these questions either way!

Fic Writer Asks
Been a minute since I crawled out of my cave here, but an ask game remains the best way for me to do so. Thanks for the tag, @folklauerate!
How many works do you have on AO3?
21. Here they are so I don't have to link them all below.
What's your total AO3 word count?
107,797
What fandoms do you write for?
I was vehemently a one-fandom (Sailor Moon) person until Bridgerton season 2 came crashing into my life. I've accepted being a two-fandom writer now, but it's still weird.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
These are skewed because the Bridgerton fandom is bigger, so, by fandom:
Bridgerton: Follow the Sparks, An Involuntary Thing, Unframeable, Mine to Keep Warm, Canis caminan non est
Sailor Moon: Belonging, Familial Eyes, Win a Date with Tuxedo Mask!, Contrition, What Wasn't Said
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I definitely try to, but I fall behind. I like the fandom engagement piece of responding to comments and talking to friends and readers, but when it becomes an expectation at the expense of my sanity, I let myself off the hook. That's generally the approach that has worked best for me with all things fandom-related. This is supposed to be a hobby, not a chore.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Contrition.
Do you get hate on fics?
Haven't gotten anything I would really describe as hate yet, but I have gotten some "this is boring" comments, and just recently had someone decide my comment section was the ideal place to talk about current world events. I do think it's absurd that we live in a world where I had to turn comment moderation on because of this.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
It's not my main focus, but yes. I'm not sure what it says about me that smut writing comes more easily to me in Bridgerton writing than it ever did in Sailor Moon writing.
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Hard nope!
What's your all-time favorite ship?
I think it has to be a tie between Kanthony and Usamamo. Usamamo has the stronger history, being that I've shipped it since I was 11, and while I'm not super active in that fandom right now (tbh is anyone?), I won't be at all surprised if/when I get inspired to dive back in. Kanthony pulled me in the same way Usamamo did, so I can't not include them here.
What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Given my update speed, I tend to lean towards "never say never", but things don't look good for that Contrition sequel I've been banging on about since 2019.
What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty good with dialogue; it comes more easily to me than all the other moving pieces. Went through a phase during which my writing got compared to poetry a lot, but I don't think I've been able to pull that off in any of my Bridgerton work yet.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I can tell you they're all tied to perfectionism -- speed, anything that happens in between dialogue making things sound pretty instead of dry and academic (damn that too many years of schooling), over-explaining things, and writing the same damn kiss the same damn way multiple times.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for fic?
Lol tell me you came of age in the 2000s without telling me. I would sprinkle it into Sailor Moon stuff, but there's a fine line between "this is useful" and "this reads like a geocities fanfic site from 1999." I haven't done it with Bridgerton just because I don't know enough, but I'll definitely ask @folklauerate and @hydriotaphia if I ever do!
First fandom you wrote for?
Sailor Moon when I was very, very, very young (cool that an eighth-grader did this, but not cool enough to show to anyone ever).
Favorite fic you've ever written?
-The Benedict chapter of An Involuntary Thing
-Despite a whole host of issues, 5 Years
This was fun and took me back! Tagging @kasienda, @penny-loaf, and @daikon1
