yk i kinda wish miss chatham was in the later seasons still. like imagine if we got an episode of them visiting the retirement home

i can see it now. they lose miss chatham somehow while in there, and then end up on their own side adventures

and cleo and emma end up being wrangled into helping one of the seniors, only for emma to end up transforming into a mermaid and for the senior that they were helping, to see it

and then because for whatever reason this came to mind, it turns out said senior is julia's ex karl, who apparently lives at the same retirement home as miss chatham

he almost gets his camera out for old times sake, because he hasn't changed much since they were teenagers, but then miss chatham gets her tennis racket out

suffice to say. they end up walking out with pocketful of old people candy and also a bunch more lore/info from miss chatham. idk

I think on this fine Saturday afternoon it's a good opportunity to take a breather and remember that there are really no ethical paparazzi pictures. Every single one is inherently exploitative.

Just because photos were taken on a movie set, when someone is 'working,' does not make the practice any less invasive and creepy. Imagine just going about your day, doing your job and having some weirdo snapping pictures of you to sell without your consent for others to endlessly repost online.

There are thousands of pictures of your favourite actor online already. Plenty taken with his knowledge and consent. I'd really like to see more of them on my dash, rather than the creeper shots.

And don't get me started how disseminating these pictures directly leads to people going to said sets. What starts off as admiring how good someone looks has real world implications.

No, hanging around a movie set and disrupting people doing their jobs is not harmless fun or a way to show your appreciation.

If you hang around a movie set, you are a stalker.

Don't tell me that it's okay to take your online admiration for someone offline. You may admire him but he does not, and will never, personally know you. He will never be your friend/boyfriend/daddy. He is a stranger.

The only way meeting your favourite actor is going to happen is at a convention or maaaaaybe a movie premiere if you're incredibly fortunate. You know, places they appear specifically to meet fans (or not in the case of premieres, where the purpose is to promote a movie. Which is also completely understandable if actors don't stop. You are not owed an interaction).

Of course, you cannot help it if you randomly run into someone you admire in the wild. Even then, consider that they probably won't be all too thrilled to be approached in public by a complete stranger. It's up to you to gauge the situation, but remember there is a person at the heart of all of this.

Boundaries and respect are a kindness which deserves to be extended to each and every human being regardless of their looks/talent/fame/wealth.

Fandoms blur those lines a little too often for my liking and I think just scrutinising what you're interacting with, or what behaviour you could be possibly falling down that slippery slope towards is nice to do every once in a while.

I mean no malice with this post and it is not directed at anyone in particular. It's something I cannot help but feel strongly about because I've seen this destructive cycle time and again in fandoms over the years. It's not healthy and it makes us all a little bit more disconnected from our humanity for it...

Yeah something I am super worried about is that after New Moon blasted Earth with star power, which probably made the astrals even angrier, he's now working with Dark Sun, who has a wither storm incubating as a pet and he's going to use that for something, Tauros is coming here in a few weeks and who knows if Solar's also going to emerge in that time, and if everything happens at once, Dark Sun and New Moon bringing out the dragon, Tauros being on the planet, Monty and Puppet trying and possibly failing to ditch the core thingy which would make Tauros even more angry, who knows even Lunar's sneezing fit might make them more annoyed since he used star power, and who even knows what the Creator is doing he might be ready to spring out as soon as this all comes together, it feels like we're about to have something go very wrong

Though what's interesting to me is what Dark Sun wants to achieve.. but what's even more interesting is what Creator is planning to do cause he didn't make any dang move since he tried to kidnap Lunar.. it's worrying.. even more than what Dark Sun is doing..

Cause you know that Dark Sun can't be the biggest enemy when they show him that much.. he's antagonist of this arc..

Creator on the other hand always waits for the best opportunity.. he's like snake imo.. I don't like that he didn't make any move.. cause I doubt that he's not trying to kidnap Lunar anymore out of kindness..

I know that Dark Sun said that Creator's ego will be his downfall.. but if he was able to cheat death.. than I fear that his downfall is nowhere in sight in the near future..

I think about that every time people are having such a great time with their FtM headcanons of the Gladiator characters and all I can do is sit here and be like,

I'm an Old-Ass Gamer

I can still remember my bugging my parents for quarters for the arcade at 9 years old wanting to play Galaxian and Asteroids. And I could play those games for hours if I had enough money. But we were the first generation of gamers that grew up on vector line games with minimal graphics and having to rely on mostly our imagination as far as getting any sort of fun out of a game that looked like a collection of squiggly lines.

Then along came a coin-operated Star Wars game in 1983 - which was my first foray into playing anything related to Star Wars.

This was my first chance to pilot an X-wing and even though those graphics were just squiggly lines and filling it in with my imagination, "I was Luke Skywalker" going after the Death Star".

Now we have games like the Sims 3...

...with mods...they look almost "human". This kind of game I couldn't picture back in 1983 as a 13yr old hanging out at the arcade in between algebra class and homework - that I would be able to play with characters that I've grown attached to and my literary creative side keeps seeking to write stories about.

The Star Wars game I play now is vastly different from the arcade game I played back in 1983.

Even though this game (Star Wars the Old Republic) is set in an era long before the Galactic Empire and Palpatine even were a thing - it is Star Wars, with lightsabers, Jedi, Sith and all sort of other characters and retain the feel of Lucas's Star Wars that we love and miss (at least I do. I don't find Disney's offerings worth watching). There's even space combat which I still find difficult. So I stay away from the "Starfighter" portion of SWTOR and play with my Jedi, Sith, Trooper, Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent and Smuggler.

The Flight Simulator II that I remember flying in my youth on the Apco (Apple IIe clone) computer,

These are games that I couldn't even conceive of in my youth playing vector line graphic games and it shows just how much computer graphics has changed in 45 years.

I don't have the ability to be able run inZoi on my current computer. But I'm eager to see how far the boundaries of computer gaming graphics gets pushed over the next twenty-five or hopefully thirty to to forty years I have left to walk on this earth. You kids are gonna have it so lucky.
