Make sure you don't accidentally punish people for communicating their needs and boundaries. When someone cares enough to have the uncomfortable conversation, that's a compliment and a clear sign that they are invested in the relationship. Yes of course it's uncomfortable to hear that something you've been doing has been upsetting someone you care about when that was never your intention, but people generally only bother to have these conversations with the people they want to keep around - the people they trust to care. If they just didn't like you, they'd probably just try to avoid you. So make sure you don't make it into a more punishing experience than it has to be. Try to see the care and the trust behind the criticism, even when it triggers uncomfortable emotions. It's a good sign that they're there telling you.

I believe that Harley was the one who was experimenting on animals with poppy gel and I think that Elliot stole his project.

I was thinking that maybe Elliot told him about Poppy - his dead daughter I mean - and Harley decided to find a way to bring dead humans back to life.

Everyone assume that Elliot made Poppy and the Prototype, right? But it was never confirmed in game. Which is a bit odd considering lots of other info we get about experiments that are just a mere background to the story - that are not important.

It wouldn't hurt to say at least that Elliot made Poppy and the Prototype, right? And yet we never got any confirmation on that.

So I was thinking that Harley made the Prototype and because he was doing it mostly by improvisation cause he lacked complex knowledge (and he definitely lacked years of practice) at that time cause he was more than likely a young teenager then. It would also explain why the Prototype looks so weird and nothing like the rest of experiments including Poppy.

Elliot was angry at Sawyer cause oh well experimenting on humans is completely and vastly different thing than experimenting on animals which I think that it's something that Elliot didn't mind that much imo considering that experiments on animals and animal testing was quite common back at the time.

And when Elliot kicked Harley out from YGP he decided to use his project to bring back to life his own daughter. And later when Harley was hired at Playtime Co he found out that Elliot made Poppy and he knew that he stole his project. He felt backstabbed and betrayed once again and in hit of rage killed Elliot but immediately regretted it hence why he goes "..." when is asked in ARG if he is the one who killed Elliot.

I don't recall it exactly but ik one of the ARG email exchanges is something along the lines of "what happened to Poppy?" or "What happened to Elliot Ludwig's daughter?" with the response "... [stay silent]"

Here's my theory: Harley was the one who turned Poppy into a doll, at Elliot's behest.

I think the procedure happened during the YGP. Elliot and Harley worked on experiments with the poppy gel all the way up to turning Elliot's dead or dying daughter into Poppy. Then, when his usefulness had ended, Elliot found an excuse to get rid of Harley. He'd been using Harley as a 'surrogate child' to cope with the loss of Poppy, then when his real child was returned, the replacement was quickly disposed of.

alternate version: in part of the hyperlink maze when he's talking about her, he mentions embryology and how it's more advanced than given credit for. Maybe Poppy was a complete test tube baby, and Harley's purpose to Elliot was to help create her?

I've kept wondering how 'storming out of the lab' would warrant termination (assuming the letter isn't failing to mention something). Maybe Elliot felt it was warranted because Harley leaving in the middle of an experiment with the embryo put it in danger?

maybe the reason Harley went off about how 'progress doesn't care how anyone feels about it' is because he wanted to augment the embryo to be 'stronger', as he shows a similar desire with all of his experiments. Elliot pushed back against this and that's what made Harley upset.

If that's the case, maybe he felt that there's no point in creating a test tube baby if it's not going to be 'better' than a regular child. Why create a living being like that, cruelly, in his eyes, if it's just going to lead a meaningless life as a freak of nature? (like himself, he thinks) If it were better, stronger, a living specimen of progress, maybe its life would be worth something.

Creepy Harley Headcanons because he's a freak of nature

Disclaimer: hes NOT a sexual creep, I despise those hcs, but hes just very offputting in a uncanny way.

- The most agreed one is he does have a staring problem. Like, REALLY bad, he stares at you like he's thinking about something but won't say it.

- Gets very up close and personal when he's talking to someone, does not care about personal space (unless it's his own ofc)

- Very weird smile, it looks too big, too much teeth. Something is wrong with it. Also him smiling at inappropriate moments.

- Can come and go without making a sound. He'll suddenly be right behind you without you noticing until he speaks or puts a hand on your shoulder.

- Walks around the factory at night whistling, he always stays after closing, even if he's not really supposed to be there. Also will play classical music from his office at night, sounds terrifying to the security guards.

- Knows way too much about people, its easy for him to remember names and faces, so he easily could put together a profile of information and secrets about almost everyone he's spoken to.

- Will make weird random comments then completely change the subject. Ex: "I'd take caution when leaving today. Never know what may happen." Then talking about experiments again. (He does this for his own amusement)

- His veins are very prominent naturally (not exactly creepy but a headcanon nonetheless)

- Keeps mice taxidermy (I love taxidermy so no hate but he'd definitely have some) I also imagine he'd somehow get a taxidermied human hand. How he got it? Probably best not to ask.

- Talks in his sleep, like, saying "there's someone in the window." Or "They're coming to get me"

Specific Executive Designs for an animatic/animation I've started. Sawyer, Leith, Stella, and Eddie, in that order.
