Nexus and Sun Mouthwashing Animatic

Heyyyy, y'all, I made a new animatic todaaaay! Featuring Sun and Nexus, using audio from the Sun and Moon Show playthrough of Mouthwashing. The dialogue, especially paired with Sun's and Nexus's voices, reminded me a lot of them.

No, I'm not saying Nexus is as awful as JrunningawayfromJresponsibility, just that they have similarities in dialogue and their feelings about responsibility.

So, I did go ahead and watch the episode with Ruin's nightmare, and I gotta say- I'm one of the man's biggest haters, but goddamn do I love episodes that take focus on his past and his backstory, there's always something so deeply entrancing about them.

The ending did dredge up a bit of pity, as well. But I'm gonna say this and potentially get ripped to shreds, the dream Creator did have a point. Ruin did exactly what he did on a scale 5,000 times greater. And he took any choice, any say, any freedom away from the trillions of lives he ended in a blink.

Did he have noble intentions? Yeah. Even I understand that wanting to get rid of the Creator council in and of itself was a totally understandable goal. But the ends do not justify the means. I don't care if the deaths were painless, I don't care if everyone went all at once and there was no mass hysteria caused by people randomly fading out of existence, I do not care that the presented reason for the audience to be angry (Solar's death) is now rectified with Solar alive again.

Ruin still ended trillions of lives. He still played god, just as Lunar said. And he is still far, far, far away from ever making things right for his actions. Which he needs to stop justifying and making excuses for, because trying to defend ending trillions of innocent lives is disgusting.

And I frankly want to see another restored soul come after him. I want to see someone who was brought back like Solar was, but they're justifiably angry. Their entire dimension was ripped away in a blink, they died and were brought back, but now they're alone. No family, no home, just the name of the animatronic who decided that the deaths of 5,000 evil men was more important than the lives of trillions.

Sharing my favorite frames from the Take Responsibility animatic! Looking at it I feel like the lineart of Sun's eyes was a bit too uneven but that's okay, I still like how his expressions came out.

I do think the energy of this dialogue from Curly and Jimmy suits Sun and Nexus. One is trying to be positive, to be supportive and look on the bright side. The other is only looking at the negatives and burning with resentment for the other. Only worrying for himself while frothing at the mouth to see the other's downfall. (At least, that's how I see the dialogue due to how Moon read it.)

Oh, Nexus, you truly are a fool. If you had just set aside your anger and resentment to try and make amends, you wouldn't be ashes on the floor.

Well, today's episode of LAES wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Everyone was civil and communicated decently. I do appreciate Earth taking like, a moment to at least somewhat acknowledge that she might not always be the best sister but I wish there had been some reassurance for Lunar that he wasn't totally awful?

Because he's not. He's screwed up a lot and he did hurt Earth, yes, but I still remember how he was very often there to listen to Earth vent in the past and support her, especially around when she died. Not that Earth can't be angry because of how he's helped in the past, she can be angry and I don't expect her to be the one to reassure Lunar. But just in general, Lunar isn't the worst brother and it sucks that he feels like he is. And that does also kind of tie into my thoughts on Earth saying, "I feel like I give so much, and no one ever does the same for me."

Because, like. My immediate thoughts go to what Lunar did for her in the past, and also towards how supportive Moon and Monty have been, and the times Sun and even Nexus in the past have been there for her- I specifically recall her venting to them at least twice and they gave her their full, undivided attention, only for her to later on say she had no one to go to, and now this,,, I'm not trying to pick a fight or insult anyone, ofc.

Again, she does not have to tolerate any perceived mistreatment just because of aid rendered in the past but Sun, Moon and Monty haven't done anything wrong as far as I know, yet their efforts are still being dismissed. Has me a little :( /nbr

As for her saying that she kind of entered what I could describe as a sort of people-pleasing state in response to Lunar's distress, I honestly can't blame her because I tend to do that, too. Put my own feelings aside and tell people what I think will be met with the path of least resistance.

But anyway, overall the episode is good and I hope we're at the end of the Lunar-bashing era. Earth doesn't have to forgive him and she has valid anger and resentment, I just hope she addresses it in a healthy manner and doesn't end up using her feelings to mistreat Lunar like a certain edgelord manipulative crybaby jackass did. Also the fact that Lunar is essentially homeless is really uncomfortable...

Anyways :D Actual ramble lol. That was a lot. And Lunar actually going back in willingly is pretty impressive. Also, another thing that I would be beneficial for Lunar is sitting down after those and sorting through the stuff that was said. Like saying what was true and what was not.

Cause Moon saying he needed to hear all that bothered me, cause like half of it was either saying that no one loves him or that he should have stayed dead (the other stuff he needed to hear cause it’s stuff he needs to work on)

So going through that stuff and showing what he actually needs to work on and then being like “this stuff is your insecurities and fears, they are not true” would also be beneficial I think. Cause if he learns to accept that stuff as true too, bad stuff happens.
