I feel like people don't often fully appreciate how hard dating can be for demisexuals.

It just hit me the other day when I found out that most people are kissing by the first date and having sex by the third and to me that is just wild. And apparently, some people wait up to three months before having sex and that's seen as like a really long time and I'm sorry but is everyone okay???

After three dates a person is still a stranger and after three months they're at most an acquaintance - and people are not willing to wait longer and you'll be seen as unreasonable if you want to wait for a year or more??

#I'm asexual and am not in the business of wanting sex with anyone #but sometimes I find myself wondering if I could and in what situation #and I'm like hm maybe if I knew someone for like 5 years and loved them a lot as a friend and trusted them maybe I could compromise #and then I found out about expectations in dating culture and my mind was blown #it makes me realise how asexual I am lol #but I feel like most people are using dating apps now and it's pretty hard to have a really slow getting to know someone #so my heart goes out to demisexual people because I think a lot of people see them as not having many obstacles #demisexual #asexual spectrum #asexual community #ace spectrum #acespec #asexuality #asexual

I get why it happened but nothing has made it more glaring how people refer to men in power vs women in power than kamala harris...... like it's smth every gender studies professor will beat into your skull by week 1 but most people don't even think about but like

if you're referring to "trump" or "biden" or "obama" in serious conversations and never just "donald" or "joe" or "barack" let's all take a moment and Rework our vocabulary to say harris or kamala harris instead of just "kamala"

like I'll be the first to criticize her don't get me wrongggg but if you can respect shitty male politicians enough to go by last & first last names unless you're making a shit post, do the same for her

(this is not an attack btw it's a deeply ingrained social norm to give women less respect than men but let this be a Reminder!)

A year ago I was thinking maybe I'd try to create more original content in a vain attempt to help pay for the various health supports I'm slowly starting to need.

I didn't really get too far into planning what I'd do exactly before a bunch of crap happened and I ended up doing nothing.

But I did create a mascot character for my "brand" (I guess you'd call it) before things fell apart. I had a few cool artists work on a few different versions of my original design before I ran out of cash, but out of the blue the other day I remembered she existed and that I'd never shared her with the blog.

She doesn't have a name (feel free to come up with one) but she's kind of a mix of everything I love about the magical girl visuals from Iczer Girl Iczelion, Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna, Chou Kousoku GranDoll & Akihabara Dennou Gumi. Y'know, with an even more obnoxious faux retro colour scheme because of who I am as a person.

I've thought about using her as my icon here and completing the "rebrand" I suppose you'd call it, but I can't seem to bring myself to change my Hiwatari Saki illustration icon for now.

In saying that though, I didn't want my magical robo girl to go completely unseen after I spent all that time creating her so here she is, hope you like her.
