they are best friends, the only friends the other has at times. even by the end of the series, despite all the shit that they've been through, all the ups and downs that drag into hell at times, they stay together. they are cohesive in some of the worst ways possible. they're toxic and codependent, they hate and love each other. and when house makes the decision to fake his death to be alongside wilson in his final days instead of working grueling hours at the hospital as the love of his life, his best friend dies, you are brought back to wedding vows.

because even when wilson finally passes away, house will still be there. constant, unmoving, until he, too, finally starts to wither away, an abandoned house.

severance is awesome because it excels on every single level, from script to set design to costumes to acting to etc etc etc you name it they nail it

the problem with severance is that, due to the aforementioned stellar quality of the everything about it, every 55-minute episode takes me at least 2 hours to watch

Okay I do want to watch another episode tonight instead of just back-tracking to watch stuff from earlier episodes over and over and roll around in my feelings and yell about them at my partner

BUT (this is from Corridors)

Yeah yeah Horde Prime is evil and the actual villain of the series but the fact is: he could read Catra's reactions to things. ("Elevated heart rate, dilated pupils. Adora means something to you.") And while obviously he sees affection/love/etc as bad things, he still nevertheless tells Catra (more than once) to her FACE that she still has feelings for Adora.

And yeah the feelings are often a mixed-up mess of envy and resentment, which comes out of Catra as anger and a need for revenge, and which Horde Prime accurately interprets as very painful for Catra--none of those feelings would be as strong without the love and grief under it all and causing so much of it.

It's a cliche but it's true: the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. And Catra might feel many things for Adora but indifferent is not one of them.

And it's just SO TELLING that after Horde Prime's next line: "Don't you want to be free of it?" Catra doesn't think "ha ha yeah that would be a relief lol"

She bristles and gets angry.

And then looks terrified

And YEAH obviously some of it is a logical reaction to being threatened with joining the hive mind.

But also she doesn't actually want to be freed from her feelings for Adora. And I don't know if she even knew it until that moment.

Well that was a weird one, but since when hasn't DW been weird! Ngl it took me watching a second time to enjoy it a bit more because I was just SO thrown off by the baby voices lmao, but it was just generally a fun time, nothing too serious and just a chance to see a bit more of Fifteen and Ruby's dynamic! And it did tie in nicely to the ideas of Ruby and the Doctor both being abandoned, Ruby being a foster sister and the Doctor being the last of their kind. Two baby episodes in a row is enough for me though, glad it looks like next ep is baby-free, space or otherwise 😅

things i loved about dead boy detectives ep 1: the case of crystal palace

loved to see kirby back as death, i am less scared of dying in real life if she gets to take me

i hope we get to see more of crystal's victorian ghost child friend emma

edwin's read of emma as supernaturally experienced enough to absolutely have the means to pay them is a great characterizing moment

edwin is such a bitch and i love him so much

charles is a puppy dog and i love him so much

the actress who plays disguised edwin (lauren robek) is so good at matching george rexstrew's expressions

crystal goes through a lot this episode and kassius nelson absolutely kills it

every character makes such an immediate impression and i fell in love instantly

jenny is not maternal at all and i love that about her
