Fell quite badly today. Luckily, I seem to have bones made out of rubber because no bones were broken. I'm a bit sore so *again* I'm prevented from my yoga session..I've been so injury prone lately and somehow seem to keep getting involved in a bunch of little *accidents*..😔

The first time I fought the King (after getting the shield of course) I was able to beat him no problem, but then on the subsequent attempt I ended up dying like 5 times in a row because he keeps spamming his instakill attack before the shield can recharge.

Is he supposed to be harder after beating him the first time? Or am I just getting unlucky, because I feel like I only beat him again purely by lucking out and having him not spam the instakill.

#the first time i fought him i didn't have to break out the shield until halfway through and he was kind of a pushover #but then fighting him again he started doing the instakill move much earlier in the fight #and would keep using it again once the shield wore off and before it was recharged #like i eventually beat him a second time but I was genuinely tilted from the repeated bullshit deaths #and it just felt like dumb luck #is their a way to reduce the shield/ability cooldown that i'm not remembering?#instead of holding off on using it should i just activate it as early as possible?#and just hope its still active/cooled down before he preps an instakill?#can't think of anything else i could've done better strategy-wise #is this fight just normally this bullshit and i just had a lucky 1st run?#i've been having fun getting back into the game up until this point #but that stupid rematch genuinely left a sour taste in my mouth #and im not looking forward to having to do some RNG boss over and over #in stars and time #isat spoilers #ramblings #will probably delete later (just tilted rn)

i got my pathology results back at my one week post-surgery appointment with my oncologist yesterday and all the margins looked good with no evidence of lymphatic spread, which means there's no need for radiation or chemo atm - instead i'll be having imaging done every three months to watch for any recurrence and we'll go from there 🙃

#by all accounts great news and i'm definitely very lucky #i feel weirdly blah about it all #i think because i first got diagnosed right before finals week and pretty immediately had to start planning for surgery #so i just flat out didn't have enough time or bandwidth to process it properly #but now i'm in a couple week break from school and the surgery's done #and since i'm still laid up *from* the surgery i'm doing a lot of just lying around.....thinking™.........very dangerous #my oncologist mentioned they have a survivorship group with a doctor who helps you navigate the 'new normal' of it all #and how to get back to living without constantly worrying about the rug getting pulled out from under you again #honestly i might need some of that #she's having me do some genetic testing too so that might help give me some peace of mind for my risks for recurrence/other cancers #cancer //#medical //

it's that time in production when i'm seriously considering quitting my job again 🥴

#uhhhh me #the thing is. i always feel so guilty when i think about this #bc the animation industry is utter dogshit right now and the fact i managed to keep this job is supremely lucky #i literally have ex-coworkers who will do anything to have an anim job again and here i am wanting to quit because what #because i'm bored and feeling creatively unfulfilled #i don't know how to stop feeling like i'm just a cog in a machine that doesn't really care about me #every time i look at my shots i just think about how much i don't want to do them #i'm not learning anything new anymore #every day feels like the same thing #and it definitely doesn't help that i don't really care about the contents of the show and also i didn't get a raise when i was supposed to #also! i despise receiving client notes that basically undo what they asked us to do before like CMON. WHY #'what would you do without a job tho' for starters. i want to make another short film #i only managed to make the previous ones because i was on work break #i would love to have the mental capacity to get started on it for real #literally the one thing stopping me from quitting now is the income. which is. you know. pretty important

ANNOYING.#mostly cause i like a brown/blonde split and if you're not very lucky w box dyes Sometimes.#you get a dirty blonde when it was like. not advertised like that. on the box. and sometimes you get a light light brown #that's dirty blonde. that doesn't quite look like dirty blonde on the box. however.#you see. how this ends up sometimes.#I THINK. i just have to trust the process though. i mean esp bleaching a lot of times it looks better as time goes on #once it's set in a bit and you've violet shampoo'd the shit out of it. it takes a few days.#HOPING... PRAYING.......#this IS really exciting though last time i had the split i didn't have my mullet. I see you. I watched The Shape of Water with my family (mother, sister, brother in law) at the cinema. I loved it. When it was over, I was ready to praise it and talk at lenght about how great it was. And when I was about to speak, I got interrupted by rants about "how can it be that she fell in love with a monster??? and she fucked it!!!!" hahaha.

That scene where Elisa says he sees her, and knows nothing about what she "lacks" just hit me so hard, and that's why she loves him. I mean, the way she's treated by Zelda and by Giles is pretty decent all things considered (I loved the dynamic they had) but c'mon, there's a reason she feels like she isn't seen, isn't heard. And finding somebody not only like her, but somebody who saw her, that's what we all want, isn't it? It's an amazing allegory for the desire to be seen for you first and foremost

One thing I do look forward to about in-person work for the first time in four and a half years, even if it's 28 miles of travel both ways right during the worst winter months, is I can't be my father's free Chore Servant when he's too busy (read: disorganized and lazy) to sort things before he leaves for the day

#just this morning the guy calls me eight minutes before my shift starts when I'm still in bed trying to wake up and goes #'oh by the way I didn't take the dogs outside can you handle that'#this is a process that takes five minutes normally #on top of the three to five i need to get dressed use the bathroom etc #AND one of the dogs is on medication right now #add another two #also this man was standing around in his kitchen this morning at seven chatting with his employee and his gf #he ABSOLUTELY could have taken them out #fucking prick #lucky i can clock in from my phone and my current employer is none the wiser #if he tries that shit with my new job in two weeks i will literally not be home by the time he calls #in fact i'm just gonna silence my phone. this fucking course is such bullshit the damn online test thing just tested me for an entirely different topic (that i was unable to access), nitpicked my wording for no reason (i entered "safety/cut resistant gloves". the 'correct' answer? "gloves". ffs.), and marked me as wrong on one question bc whoever built the shitty 3d section of the test made the mistake THAT THE TEST IS SUPPOSED TO BE TEACHING US NOT TO MAKE. IN A 3D MODEL NOT EVEN A REAL BUILDING CHRIST ON A STICK. the human instructor is fucking amazing but this new online-based curriculum is shitty and half-assed as fuck.

#i am minorly disappointed i didn't do this before this year but SUPER glad i didn't leave it any later #the impression i get is that they're trying to semi-automate the course to be Hip and With It and also cut back on staffing costs maybe #but the people doing it don't have any fucking clue what they're doing when it comes to computer systems #so half of it's broken and they're like outsourcing a bunch of it to fucking youtube instructables i wish i was joking here #and you have to enroll in each topic individually but some topics reference others so if you have one but not the other you're fucked #and you can't just enroll in all of them the instructor has to open enrolment individually & give you the password for that window #this is a trade we're studying for btw it's hands on stuff that should be taught by humans who you can ask questions #and i'm super lucky that my instructor is actually good at his job but oh my god #the secondhand shame in this man's eyes every time something stupid breaks on the website. heartbreaking.
