One of my favorite things about my first watch through of Yellowjackets is how blind I went into it. I hadn't heard of it through any social media before I started watching it, but one of my favorite podcasts briefly mentioned that it was one of the shows they were currently watching. They explained it as a girls sports team that has to survive in the wilderness because their plane crashed (which I think is a great and simple way to describe it). And I don't usually go into shows blind, usually I start watching shows cause I've heard a lot about it and one or a couple of the characters I've seen seem interesting.

I am SO mad about the suicide storyline in Downton Abbey due to the absolute lack of attention it gets from the narrative itself.

Like, he's lost a LOT of blood, and it probably happened fairly quickly. All you have to do is glance at that scene to know just how serious that looks. Obviously, I can't get exact numbers on the amount of blood lost, but it's gotta be at least a litre, which is - what, 25% of your blood? At least. It's possible that he could be weak for a month, and fragile for who knows how long after that. But apparently he's a) up and fine after a week and b) didn't even go to the hospital?? No. Don't lie to me.

As far as we know, all the medical attention he got was the tourniquet from Baxter. They stopped the bleeding and then . . . ? Yes, Clarkson checked up on him, but he never went to the hospital, and anyway, it's the 1920s. There is no way he could have recovered that quickly.

Edit: okay, guys, I'm very stupid and have been reminded that suicide was a crime back then. No way he could have gotten official treatment. The point still stands, though, because he's still badly hurt, and the lack of help & need to keep it quiet probably would make it take longer for him to recover.

The thing that most likely sped up his recovery the most was Baxter's quick thinking combined with Clarkson's advice (although I have no idea what their understanding of this would be like at the time, I can imagine they'd have just learned a lot about blood loss from the war).

Also, I am by no means an expert on anything medical. Most of what I know is picked up from research while writing. So if anything is glaringly wrong, don't hesitate to tell me.

It’s so funny to me that they are apparently making another Mass Effect game that’s going to function as a direct sequel to the original trilogy. How are they going to do that. Are they going to pick and canonize one of the endings. Do they have any idea of the uproar that will cause after they presented all three endings as equal. Why would they do this to themselves.

Blue Exorcist Season 3 - Episode 3

Ahh!! Love, loved this episode so much! It covered quite a few chapters that are some of the fun ones around this time. And the build up to what is about to come is sooo good. Most importantly it was sweet to see Shiemi come to school and get to a good spot.

Seeing everyone get ready for the festival and then having everything go down was perfect. Especially with Rin asking Izumo to help out. One of my absolute favorite scenes between these two. It was animated so well with the right weight to it!! Adore how these two interact on a constant. They're so much fun.

And of course the ending bit with Izumo in the waitress outfit! In full color!! it's so nice to finally see. She's super adorable as in the manga. I can't wait for the next episode when some action stuff happens. It's going to be so much fun.

Look at heeer. I love it when kato has her hair down. She's so pretty!!

Hehehe can't wait to see how this goes next week. Everything is starting to line up and get rolling. Soon we'll be in the juicier bits of this arc and it's going to be crazy fun.

Life sure likes it's little jokes some times

During my last year of college, I got some books for free. One of them was a coffee-table book I'd been helping to copy-edit during an internship with a publisher, and the other three were nonfiction books they'd previously released that I thought looked interesting, including one about sewing. All of them were put on my shelf and then promptly forgotten about.

Flash forward ten years, and I'm finally learning how to sew, something I've been idly meaning to do since I was like 15. I'm on reddit looking for fitting advice, and there's this one book I see mentioned frequently. I ignore it for a while, because I'm mostly looking for free articles and youtube videos, but eventually I get curious and look up the book, and--

I have that book. It's sitting on my shelf in between those other books I haven't touched in almost a decade. It's the same book. The book that keeps getting recommended. The book I was just thinking of buying. I already own it. I got it for free ten years before I knew I wanted it.
