Me existing while I feel like time is moving ungodly fast as I try to do fun stuff and work on personal projects that I haven't actually started, just small stuff, while I wait for the impending doom that is my summer class witch starts on the 12th and ends on the 30th of this month. While its only a few weeks, that means that I probably have to cram a shit tone of work in a short amount of time.

Not to mention, I don't have nearly as big of a fallowing to start selling my art and when I ask my fallowing, I'm convinced no one would buy my art.

Over the weekend I bought decaf coffee by accident and figured I'd just drink it since I like the coffee taste anyway. But it turns out I just like the way caffeine makes me feel despite the stomach pain I'd ritually go through from it. Anyway now that I've been starting my days without caffeine, it seems I REALLY like how not-in-pain I am. I'm still struggling with grogginess but it's a swap I'm... pretty okay with? I can actually see myself... NOT drinking coffee anymore?? And I THINK my stress levels may have gone down too? I... I... Who was I before all this happened? What's going on???

here's my ring found in an old trench by a metal detectorist in ukraine. it was almost certainly made in the trenches due to its imperfect construction and by nature of literally being from a trench. it makes me kinda sad he cleaned it up this much (i'm guessing via electrolysis? he has a big shop and that's quicker) and i wouldn't have bought it for (OCCASIONAL) wear if it wasn't already both removed from the dig site with no notes on context and likely cleaned with aggressive measures, but it was, and it's not like i can undo that lol. so, cool belt ring

the guy also threw in two free buttons of which i believe the left is prussian or german and the right is russian (tho it may be austro-hungarian, but i'd bet russian judging by the basically illegible print on the back which resembles cyrillic if you squint)? i admittedly know jack shit about uniform buttons and this is my best guess after 30 minutes of research. also this guy seems to travel a lot so i have no clue which battlefield any of this was taken from aside from somewhere on the eastern front. incredibly cool regardless!

GOD usually I like tordotcom and some of their articles are super interesting so today when I saw a 10 year anniversary reflection on ancillary justice I was hype about it, ESPECIALLY with translation state coming out next month (!!!)

But GOD it was the most boring summary of the book with several factual errors and the article's writer completely missed the entire point of the radchaai gender system!!! Like yeah dude I get it having someone introduced as 'male' in the first chapter and then referring to her as she can be confusing for cis people, I also had a bit of trouble for about half the book, but the whole POINT is that RADCHAAI ONLY HAVE ONE GENDER. it's not that "seivarden is a he but you only find that out on nilt" it's that Seivarden is a male and she is a she. There's no radchaai that's a he. They're all she. Like it takes a minute but there! is! only! One! gender!

I almost wrote a mean comment but some people had already written nicer comments saying the same thing (although there was another stupid fucking comment about how they think Breq might be bad at gender bc she's a ship....and it's like no......she can't clock different genders bc she's radchaai and they only have one gender......did you read the fucking book or did you simply let the words flow through you. Like. Sometimes I feel like my reading comprehension is bad or like I miss things but jesus fucking christ
