Okay we finally caught up, and I'm seeing a lot of dumb critiques of the show and they all seem to circle back to the fact that it's not centered on any lore that's been touched on in On Screen star wars media. It's pre-empire, pre-clone wars, pre-EVERYTHING. Which is why it's so fun!! There's new people and cool Jedi robes and whip sabers and a look at the rise of a new sith lord and the rule of two!!!!! Just!!!!!!! Turn off your brains for an hour and have fun with the weird space drama!!!!!!!!!!
Also anyone complaining about canon star wars lore clearly hasn't read any of the books. Watching Acolyte with someone who HAS read the books is such a treat bc he gets so excited about little things that I wouldn't necessarily look for and characters he's been reading about for years.

Update: I finished the first book, it fucking sucked. I'm currently reading the second book, I've got like 60 pages left, and it's better. But man this woman doesn't understand what makes something sexy. Like sometimes she gets so close and it's just like she decides to take a hard left into a brick wall. That being said, it's far more interesting than the first book and I can only hope the third just gets better. I will not hold out hope, but maybe!
