My Hero Academia Chapter 425 Spoiler Talk

I'm enjoying writing about this stuff again, though I've got a headache going on, so I'll do the best I can for now. I might add in stuff later:

I'm very happy to see our Big 3 graduate finally! I was kinda worried Mirio wouldn't even graduate for a second, but I'm happy to see that he did and he gave a valedictorian-esque speech to everyone talking about rebuilding society so everyone can have a bright future like Sir Nighteye wanted. Ending his speech with a joke is such a Mirio Togata thing 😂. I'm going to miss that guy so much 🥹

Why are Deku and some other students just lying on the ground with their feet up like that btw? Did they run out of chairs or something? It's a weird, quirky little thing that's just there, I guess.

The narration mentions that it's June in the MHA universe now (Happy Pride, btw 🏳️‍🌈). So, if the War took place around April or May, then it's been at least 1 month since we last saw the kids at the hospital.

Our class 1-A is now officially Class 2-A! They're finally second years as they should have been. Everyone including Aizawa is alive, though saying they're well is debatable. Everyone is clearly still injured in some way, shape, or form. Most have several bandages and even Jiro looks like she has a prosthetic for her missing left earphone jack.

Quick note: I notice that Bakugo is actually wearing a tie with his uniform now. It's still not buttoned up, but you can tell that he's definitely softened a bit since the war. EDIT: Looking at it again, it might not be buttoned up because he has a cast holding his right arm, but it’s hard to tell from the scans.

Aoyama not wanting to return to UA is sad, but it makes sense. I'd argue that he earned his place there regardless of AFO's influence, but I can understand that he doesn't feel that way and wants to redeem himself and become a hero in his own way without being forced to betray his friends and teachers.

Replacing Aoyama will be Hitoshi Shinso! I think most of us predicted that Shinso would be joining Class 2-A, but I'm very happy to see that confirmed. It's going to be a bit of a weird start for him, but I think he'll get used to his new classmates quickly.

Another quick note: The second-year cloud girl, Fuwa Mitawa, is seen quite a bit in this chapter and her return is something Horikoshi promised many volumes ago, so I'm glad to see him keep that promise.

Those two first panels of Shouto make me so sad, y'all 😭... His hair is so messy and you can see bags under his eyes. It's hard to tell because of the leaks, but I don't know if there's even light left in his eyes. He looks so exhausted. What happened to Dabi, Endeavor, and the rest of his family? I have no doubt that he's been agonizing over them for god knows how long. I hate seeing him like this, honestly. He's my favorite character and deserves all the good in the world, especially after the harsh life he's been put through. I want to give Shouto all the hugs in the world 🩵.

I don't think Deku smiled at all this whole chapter btw. He tries to talk to Ochako at one point, but she interrupts him with a comment about his new haircut. He just looks sad this whole chapter. I bet he's still grieving and processing what happened. I need Izuku to open up to someone because he can't just bottle this up.

Then we have this mysterious man walking around a desolate town. We have absolutely no idea who this is, but apparently it isn't someone we know of. I want to say it's a grown-up Tenko Shimura somehow, but even that might be too farfetched.

Finally, there's Shouto and the Todorokis. Shouto reassures Deku that he's ok, but I bet my gatcha game currency that he's putting on a brave face because that final beautiful panel of him does not scream "I'm ok!" to me. If anything, I'm amazed Shouto doesn't look like he got any other permanent scars on his face at least.

It looks like Shouto is going to see his family at the hospital. Specifically Endeavor and what might be Dabi who's being kept alive in a big machine. It's hard to tell because the scans are so unclear, but I'm 90% sure that's Dabi in there. It's a miracle that man is alive given he was just a skeleton last we saw him. I'm 99% sure we're going to get a Hellish Todoroki Family Part 3 or something next chapter.

But, we won't see that until 3 weeks from now because we're officially on a 2-week break. There isn't a given reason why like Jujustu Kaisen got (Gege Akutami is sick, so he's taking 2-week break too), so I really hope Horikoshi is ok. It's either he's sick too or he needs time to think of the final chapters of MHA. Or both, that too. Regardless, any breaks given to Kohei Horikoshi to give him time to rest is ok with me. Just sucks for us as fans. Leaving us on THAT kind of a cliffhanger is just mean 😭

We’re actually getting a victory party sooner than expected!

It took almost a month for our boys and the town to recover. I can imagine the school must have suspended classes first for the boys to heal and help repair the damages.

Oh man, look at our Class 1-1 all up and about and just being teenagers. We miss this.

And we got Nirei wearing clips again!!! He looks so cute 🥰

Wow, there are seats both on the rooftop and on the school grounds. There's so many people! It’s almost like a school festival.

Pfft our typical Ume & Hiragi shenanigans 😅 Ume’s voice will always be loud dear Hiragi.

Our dear gang friends are here 🥹Aww, look at them all shy...and nervous! I mean, this doesn’t happen everyday y’know…celebrating and being friendly with another gang. All the more for the Gravel gang.

They’re really the best for going all the way to come and help; Especially after that scary hoard of “❌" in the Bofurin group chat (the traumaaaa). Our anxiety and stress spike ever since that happened.

I immediately remembered Umemiya’s bow to the grade captains & vice captains. And now he’s doing the same thing in thanking the other gangs who helped them. The panels even look exactly the same!🥹

To be honest, I don't know what I would call this party 😅 our leader is strong but not great at coming up with party names. Haha.

From “Sakura’s first conversation anniversary” to the simple “thank you” party. To think Hiragi suggested "Welcome party" the first time this kind of thing happened, and I believe Umemiya thought "Thank You Party" would be okay after that. 🤭

We’ve been waiting for their Summer BBQ party with Umemiya’s grown veggies and now it’s happening!! Let's go!!

Sakura and Nirei are in the BBQ station...and Sugishita is not having it. I understand him though. He helped and worked hard in growing those veggies and if most of them are burnt…heck no! Sakura is trying his best, Sugishita. Have patience for your fighting partner.

And look at their SUMMER UNIFORMS!! They’re all short sleeve and white! It’s so cuuute!!

The Class 1-1 boys are growing on me. I mean, look at them being all supportive (and showing off) to Sakura. I love their dynamic. I don't know, it warms my heart when they call Sakura “The Cap” 🥰 aww

"The Cap's gotta make his move" -- what do they mean though? Why does it sound like their Cap has a crush on someone and needs to take his chances 😆 Probably they meant he needs to go enjoy and socialize (knowing how he is) rather than be stuck grilling meat.

I'm not sure about their grilling skills though. If you’ve read the special comic, y’know what i mean.

Nii sensei…you really drew Sakura like this. 🤣I feel like Sakura was pacing to and fro in his room, itching to go see everyone outside Furin and thank them.

Oh, wait. Don't tell me he also looks like this when he went to thank Shishitoren; especially in facing Togame. 🫢 I can hear the Second-in-command be like "Sakuraaa~ is that you??" the same way Kanji reacted.

Same, Tsubaki, same. I am like truly happy and proud to see Sakura hanging out, caring and talking to his friends. Look how much he pouts and blushes. He's come such a long way *sniffs*

Their reactions though from giddy to embarrassment when they heard he still sucks in playing games. Please, Nii sensei. We need an extra or one-shot of Sakura finally winning one!

Oh what’s this? Why end here? Not gonna lie, it’s like Togame is abt to confess. (I mean, throughout the arc, he’s always been “thats our Sakura!”)

Fangirling aside 😅 It seems like they’re about to reveal something especially with those reactions…orrr we’re overthinking. Maybe they're just glad to see the leaders of Shishitoren. And it's just the beginning of a beautiful friendship between these four gangs (Bofurin, Shishitoren, Roppo Ichiza, and Gravel).

Side note: If you look at the food he's holding, Choji is finally trying out a fresh Red Bean bread of the town that Umemiya shared before (Shishitoren arc) 🥹

There’s really not much to analyze here. Just pure fun and good vibes! And when it’s too fun, it feels too short 🥲 (despite it being the usual 20 pages)

We didn't get to see Ren Kaji 🎧 though and his vice captains. Kaji had a mentally draining fight so I hope they're doing okay.

I'm curious as to what’s next for the boys other than “the talk”. I'm not only talking about Chika and Umemiya's talk, but Umemiya and Sakura's.

I feel like that's something we need to have where they talk and ask each other about their fights. I'm sure our Bofurin leader wants to know how was Sakura's fight with the legendary Endo. They did leave it up to him to defeat one of Bofurin's shadows. And his fight did leave a dent on Sakura's mental and emotional state.

And Sakura would want to be clear with Umemiya what Endo was talking about. It seems Endo did say those things about Umemiya to Sakura out of spite and jealousy, but I'm sure Sakura still has questions about it; especially when Endo noticed how distant Sakura looked.

I'm guessing we will see that conversation in a flashback. I really hope we do.

Other than that, Nii Satoru sensei had a Q & A with Thai fans about the future of Wind Breaker and if my memory serves me right, we will have more info about Kiryu and Suo in the future.

I also hope for Sakura's back story soon too. I have my guesses that someone from Sakura's old town, someone familiar, will appear and trigger it.

Obviously, we don't want it now. I hope our mangaka will ease us in to the next arc. We just experienced an intense and stress-filled 59 chapters after all. So let's enjoy these light panels while we can.😋💚🎐🍻🍖

Bucky was exhausted but more than that he was anxious to get back home. This mission had been the longest he’d ever been away from home. For three weeks all he could do was send or receive sporadic texts from you. He missed his family but for some reason he wasn’t sure if his family missed him.

It was a ridiculous thought because he hadn’t even made it on to the porch when the front door swung open. It was still early morning. The sun was barely peeking over the horizon but the few rays of light illuminated your face beautifully. Bucky barely had any time to catch you as you jumped into his arms.

“Oh god I missed you.” Bucky said into the crook of your neck. He inhaled deeply, taking in the scent of the lotion he loved so much.

"Trust me I missed you more."

You pull back and give Bucky a few quick pecks before trying to pull away from him. Bucky pulls you back in and holds you close, trying to make up for lost time. The two of you stood there for a while before you heard the little coos and cries of your youngest through the baby monitor you had on you. Bucky smiled then, it helped to be reminded what he had waiting for him. He was glad he'd showered in the lockers in the main building because he was now able to go straight into the nursery and pick up his baby.

"Hi Peanut." Bucky cooed softly. "I thought I told you not to grow anymore until I got back."

Your youngest was really growing rapidly and every time you'd turn around you felt like they grew another inch or learned something new. Bucky hated missing out but he also knew he wanted to be out there fighting to keep his family safe.

Peanut babbled and giggled as Bucky peppered kisses on their face. You had been standing by with a bottle in hand which you gave Bucky and gave him privacy to spend time with your baby alone. They both needed that bonding time.

The next one to wake up was Henry. He walked into your room while rubbing the sleep from his eyes. His hair was slipping from the bun he wears to sleep, he was completely adorable.

"Morning mama." He yawns as he climbs the foot of the bed.

"Morning bubs."

All Sleep drained from Henry in a flash. A smile creeped up slowly on his face before he climbed the rest of the way and threw himself onto Bucky. The two of them spent a long time in an embrace and talking amongst themselves. Mostly it was Henry telling Bucky everything he did while Bucky was gone. It was sweet to watch them interact. Bucky and Henry were so similar in many ways. Bucky lovingly stared down at his son as he listened to everything he had to say. There was no rush as they cuddled.

"You should wake her up. I'm not going to deal with sleepy, annoyed Charlotte." You joke as you push Bucky toward her room.

Bucky chuckles but opens the door to Charlotte's room. Out of the three Barnes children Lottie loved sleeping in and she hated being woken up. Normally she woke up on her on at a reasonable time but it seemed like today she was stuck to her bed. Bucky admired his little girl for a moment. How her lashes popped against her chubby cheeks, her slightly parted mouth that let out little snores and how she was clutching on to Pinky, the bear he'd given her when she first arrived at the compound. Her hair was tousled and sticking to her cheek. Bucky gently pushed it back before rubbing his hand up and down her back to try and get her to wake. She scrunched her face and turned away from whatever was bothering her.

"Good Morning, Doll." Bucky says and Lottie starts to stir. "C'mon wake up. Let me see those pretty eyes."

Charlotte groans and pulls herself into a ball.

"Doll are you going to ignore daddy all morning, I missed you."

Charlotte takes a deep breath and stretches before turning back around. She opens one eye and finds Bucky at her bedside.

"Daddy?" She asks, her voice riddled with sleep.

"Yeah Doll, I'm home."

Bucky isn't sure what happened because the minute he said those words Charlotte started crying, hard. She reaches out for him and Bucky happily picks her up only for her to wrap herself around him like an octopus. Lottie continues to cry for a few minutes while Bucky does his best to soothe her.

"Why are you crying?" Bucky asks once she's settled a bit.

"I missed you daddy." She says between hiccups.

"I missed you more, Doll. But I'm home now ok?"

Lottie nods and rests her head on Bucky's shoulder again. She plays with his dog tags for a while. It takes some time for her to calm down, only sniffling every now and again.

"How about we go find everyone else and do something fun?"

Lottie nods again so Bucky heads out to the living room. There he finds you with Peanut and Henry. You look up to see Lottie's red and teary eyes.

"Oh my sweet Angel, do you want cuddles?"

"Only daddy." She mumbles and you smile.

"I think we all want to give daddy lots of hugs. Why doesn't he sit in the middle that way we can all cuddle with him for the rest of the day?"

Lottie wipes away a stray tear and nods. Bucky kisses her temple and smiles while taking the middle seat on the couch. The day is used to decompress and let Bucky remind himself of his family's needs, which is him.

All in all it was a good day for hugs.

Our two resident bookworms, Minsu and Saebyeok, are apparently very good at badminton. 🏸 The back and forth shots continued for 25 whole minutes. Everyone was surprised.

Gihun and Hyunju have very lively conversations with each other, they're full of energy and so many topics/gossip to go over. Also Gihun absolutely is the kind of mom to show pictures of his kids and their achievements to others. He is so proud 🥹

After activities and dinner when they're watching Forrest Gump together, all of the kids sit close to Inho but the ones who are the closest are Saebyeok, Daeho, Subong, and Gayeong. Idk I think they all are just very attached to him right now 🥺

When Gihun is back home and all he can hear from his babies is "Makeup still on fleek! Looking good, ma!" "How was Swan Lake?" "How's Hyunju-unnie doing these days?" "Mom, we played a bunch of sports today!" "MY FAVORITE SNACKS, I LOVE YOU MOM!" with such interest and excitement listen he would not trade this life with anything ok 🥺

At night when everyone went off to bed, Gihun and Inho are in their room making themselves ready to sleep. Gihun is applying jasmine scented body lotion to himself, while Inho is stretching out his limbs after a busy day. Now usually, there would be "Inho Gets to Be Buried Deep Inside Gihun" action but they're both very tired and also all the children are in the house. Maybe they can ask Junho and Jungbae to watch them tomorrow while they slip off to the motel...

I have so many SO MANY thoughts, I don't know how and where to begin. I'll have to re-read the book at least twice: one for my Italian clummy brain and one to catch the hundreds of things I missed. I wanted to do a hot take, I didn't take notes while reading (I winged it), BUT I kind of needed a tiny bit time to """process""".

Anyway, SPOILERS under the cut part 1 of The Good and the BAD (part 2) in my humble opinion 🌩⚡️🌩⚡️

THE GOOD (ish)

1. Ridoc was the MVP of Onyx Storm. I always loved him but in this he SMASHED IT. I loved his humor, sense of loyalty toward Violet, the QUEST SQUAD thing made me cackle, the ride or die thing when he discovered Xaden's little venin secret. The jokes, the comments, HIS POWER, everything!!!

2. Sawyer's journey and his rehab, although I hoped we could get more. He obviously disappears at a certain point and the moment he reappers he has a prosthetic. I loved the sense of guilt toward Sliseag and the scene with Violet, it felt very real. But then it also goes from 1 to 100 and the moment he's back on his dragon it's: "well look at that, everything's back to normal, let's go slaying some venin!!". Kudos to Jesinia, I love them your honor!! 🥹

3. Ridoc and Sawyer's relationship!! My boys!! 🥰🥰

4. We didn't get much Rhiannon - Violet BUT what we got satisfied me. And I'll tell you when the book switched to Rhiannon pov, I legit SCREAMED.

The "Let us be menaces" being Feirge's. I think we'll get more and more povs in the next two books. It makes sense if the battles and the fights will be as fragmented as the one in Draithus. She is exactly EXACTLY how I imagined. Fierce, loyal and a great leader, who got the meaning of following orders no matter how much we care for others.

5. I got Quinn's death right on my OS bingo. It made sense to me as a "secondary" character, but IT SHATTERED ME, because of Imogen. Imogen's chapter was by far my favorite and I love, LOVE, her. She's so much sharper than I thought and I appreciate it. The "only person I truly love on this battlefield" quote makes sense: Quinn is just her friend and doesn't expect nothing out of her. She's not a marked one, not her signet and not her abilities, just someone to love and care for. I cried during her death.

6. FEARSOME FOURSOME!!! 🥹💗 Second squad lore was unmatched and I appreciate how the squad expanded to the gryphon fliers.

7. DAIN AETOS IS MY SECOND HUSBAND 💍 and I will die on this hill because I proudly wear the apologists club badge and he's in it deep and I love him, love him, love him!!! 💗💗💗

8. Amy gave us Dain/Sloane before it was canon and I sailed months ago. But their bits in the book made me scream. SHE GAVE HIM THE MIDDLE FINGER (she hates that she'll love him).

"Someone like you shouldn't have this much power" "Good thing I do"

and

"You're not venin. You're the artery power chooses to flow through. You're life".

YES.

Slone needed to realize her power is a good thing. I liked how it balanced out taking one Sorrengail's life away and giving another Sorrengail (Mira 😭) a new one. I liked it was Dain delivering that note to her.

9. I liked Cat's arc and truly felt sorry when Trager died. Also the "thank you" line was harsh and raw and I liked it.

10. Aaric Graycastle I love you too. You can be my third husband 💍.

After Garrick's big revelation, I knew we would get some big ass signet for him. I'm not a fan of how the precognition thing got on the page, but I'm glad it's his signet.

11. Xaden's fully turning venin chapter was beautiful to me. And it made sense.

"In my final act of resistance, I become the very thing I despise".

It broke me. There's chapters I liked Xaden so much and the fact that the loss of control is not over power per se, but over the ones he loves is well played. In the end he turns for the only two things that could descend him into madness even normally: Violet and Sgaeyl. I felt so sorry for Sgaeyl, it was so bitter sweet that ending and the fact she "accepted" what he did to save her life.

12. Violet my baby, I love you. She grew so much from the first book and she was shrewd to bits in some chapters it left me speechless (hello, are we menacing kids now? yes, we are apparently). She's very Lilith in some parts, very "ask me again when you're a mother what you'll do" (gods, spare us from the pregnancy trope in book 4 please), but there's obviously nothing she wouldn't do for the people she loves. AND IT SHOWS.

13. WELL, we got a marriage cliffhanger!! (more on the bad part on this), but the foreshadow was there throughout all the book. "duchess", "consort", "the one who stands at my side"...eeeeeh our girl really realized she had a massive ring on her finger and went "WELL AWWWW 🥰🥰💍💅" and then "oh shit I do not remember any of it". LOL

14. The world Riorgail made it to the page, I'm not okay. Screamed, cried, swooned. Their relationship in this: 1000000/10

15. The Duke of Angst™️ LOL

Born in the same year!?! I knew Laurens and Juna were born close together but didn't realize That Close.😨 So Reader literally spends like a year and a half pregnant.😮‍💨 I hope Ruby scolded Joosti for her bestie lol. He better have treated her like a queen during that time.

(I totally don't get emotional at the thought of him holding the babies for the first time. Their little fingers grabbing his tattooed hand. Feeling all the emotions. Never thinking that a spilled drink on a pretty lady at the club would lead to this... Not at all 🥲) (Also him with that beard not only gives me husband vibes but also new dad vibes. No wonder Reader got knocked up again so soon 🤭 /j)

Also now with this timeline, the thought of them just finding out about the pregnancy and THEN finding out they were already like 4-5 months of the way there????? Those crazies. They probably thought, "haha wedding night baby lol" then the doctor being like, "you are further along than that" Both of them: 😧😧

Also also I knew Laurens was probably at the second wedding (wearing an adorable little suit I'm sure), but now Juna probably was too?!?!? Or were they like we need to speed this up and had the second wedding early first trimester with Juna? Reader was pregnant at both weddings 😂. They are nothing if not consistent.

Thank you!! 🥹 I swear you and everyone on here are all so kind💖 writing for Lu is one of the best choices I've ever made and you just keep proving it 💖💖💖 I decided to write this for Hyrule and around when the chain met reader for the first time, just about when they're starting to fall, I've got four's in the works as well!! The exact piercings aren't said beyond one or two named ones.

“[Name], would you mind if I ask about your piercings?”

“Sure Rulie, what did you want to ask about them?”

It’s nice that he’s got the courage to ask, and to be honest I’m more surprised that none of the others have yet. With how little he’s talked to me in the days since I started travelling with the chain I can’t help but feel like I’m not quite an equal to them. Hopefully, if I can handle this talk well though he’ll start to open up more, seems he already is with how he’s reaching for my ear. 

“Well I know in Hyrule having your ear pierced is a thing done to show that someone is over a certain age and that they can also be very painful, so I guess I just wanted to know why you have so many, is there any reason to them? I’m sorry if it’s a personal question, you don’t have to answer it…”

Listening to his rambling is pretty sweet, although it is pretty hard not to blush with how he’s absentmindedly fiddling with my double helix. He doesn’t seem to have noticed it and for the sake of his confidence I’m not going to bring any attention to it, sure he should have asked but he’s not doing it intentionally that’s clear. If anything it’s sweet he’s this interested.

“Well, they were a bit painful when I had them done, now though? I can barely feel them unless they get caught on something, and there’s not really a reason behind most of them.”

His hand flinched back with that like my words burned him more than any fire could ever hope to. Oh, he’s got an even worse kicked puppy look than Twilight, I don’t think I can handle him looking at me like this. 

“You’ve not done anything wrong Hyrule, you don’t need to look at me like that. I would have told you if you’d done anything.”  

“So you don’t mind me touching them? If I do hurt you at all I’ll heal it immediately I swear.”

“No I don’t mind you touching them and unless you tug on them hard you’re not going to hurt me, and I trust you aren’t going to do that.”

His smile’s back now, and he’s near reverent with how he’s admiring my multiple hoops and studs within my ear. I’m just glad I don’t wear any cold iron, that wouldn’t be fun to explain to anyone. My jewellery doesn’t seem to be the only thing he’s looking at either, with my non-hylian ear getting some of his attention as well as he ghosts his fingers over it. 

“Thanks for this [name].”

"It's fine Rulie, it's cute how fascinated you are actually. Not many people are this interested in them usually."

"So you really don't mind me touching them… or your ear?"

I can't hold back the laugh as he's asking me the same thing again, thankfully he doesn't seem offended by it so I've no reason to feel bad about it. He's even laughing alongside me now and isn't that a beautiful sound? His games never really showed anything of him accurately, how could they to be honest they had what… a hundred kilobites to work with? 

"No I don't mind, like I said, it's cute. If you want you can look at my other piercings as well, I mean you can see the ones on my face already but you can look closer.”

Mentioning that seemed to be an invite to him like he was only waiting for my permission for him to do this. His fingers gently ghosting across my face with that same reverence, like he was touching a goddess rather than, you know, a normal human. It took him a far longer time than it really should've to be satisfied with how he’d examined everything, certainly a long enough time for me to blush before he backed off again.

So I met Dan and Phil 🥹

I feel like I need to write it all down so that I don't forget but at the same time it's been over 48 hours and I'm not sure I fully understand what has happened yet.

I was so stressed out the days before the show, not knowing what to wear, what to say or what to take for them to sign. That was my first m&g ever and with people I've been following for like 11 years, who have basically raised me and definitely are the reason for my English accent. I was fully prepared to cry that day.

Waiting in line I met some awesome people (who are probably not on tumblr but i actually didn't ask, so if someone reads that and recognises me then please come say hi!). The Phandom really is the best. There was this amazing person who swapped a card with me because in the two packs i got I had three Dans wearing the same sweater and no Phils which was heartbreaking 💔 And also a girl from Slovakia (i think?) who came up to us before the q&a with a bunch of awesome bracelets. And Ola who even texted me the next day to ask if i arrived home safely ❤️

And the m&g itself 🥹 A couple days before I saw a post saying that Dan and Phil are not as tall as everyone makes them out to be. And I started to think about it and make calculations and thought that I have friends who are only like 10cm shorter than them and they are tall but not like crazy tall, so I won't be overwhelmed by their heights. WELL, let's just say i was wrong 😂 But they really are the nicest giants on the planet. I had both tabinof and ywgttn with me because I couldn't decide which one I want signed. They grabbed one each and signed and then switched. When Phil took ywgttn he stopped and asked if I wanted him to sign it too. I said "of course, if it wasn't for you, this book wouldn't exist" to which Dan said "that's very very true" (i feel so fulfilled to have Daniel Howell agree with me, holy shit). Then Dan grabbed my phone and asked if I wanted a photo (no, i paid almost 1k to come here and meet you and not get a photo, wym 🙄). After the selfies I told them that my birthday is coming up (next week) and this is literally the best birthday gift I've ever gotten and they wished me happy birthday and to enjoy the show. I had planned to say so many other things but didn't and then was remembering everything throughout the night. But it was amazing nonetheless.

A huge shout out is due to the crew and the venue workers who were all super nice. There was a bar with two bartenders right next to the m&g wall. After m&g one of the girls went to get some coke and one bartender said "i guess i need to take the cap off the bottle for you" (for safety reasons - venue rules) to which the other one said "there's no need, i've seen them before, they're not that type of a crowd" which was absolutely hilarious (and i think deserves a separate post). Also the security guy who came up to us super confused and asked if the seats were numbered or if we are going to sit wherever. He looked very relieved when we told him they are numbered 😅

The q&a was great, even though they did skip some questions (cowards). I honestly cannot remember most of it, I was so emotional. But I did write the note about Tabitha (which I think they didn't read in its entirety but whatever). I remember them splitting the last card, which was chaotic behaviour (and I loved it but also rolled my eyes at them) and Dan wanting us to say "pierogi" for the selfie but nobody actually did so he applauded us for having some self respect 😂 and then I'm pretty sure he did naruto run off the stage. Nerd.

I won't get into spoilers about the show because there's plenty of them out there but i need to say I'm glad no props were destroyed or stolen that night 😅 i kinda expected to go through the entire emotional spectrum (like i did at wad) but this one was more like sitting and staring with my mouth open, peachless. And also ruining my throat by screaming, but well.

After the show I found my friends who were wearing the sister Daniel costumes (seriously go check them out on twitter and ig because they ate) and i pretty much took on the job of the court photographer because everyone, understandably, wanted a photo with them. It's amazing how a single dress (well, two) can make people smile. My only regret is that Dan and Phil didn't see them because I'm sure they would've loved it just like everyone else.

This was truly the most fun I've ever had.

So, I'm almost done with part 4. I think I can have it out by Thursday? Maybe? I'm super busy today (well, busy for me LOL) and gonna try to write but I've also got something I'm working on that someone paid me to write so I'm prioritizing that. And the random capitalization? My phone does the same. 😂 The words can't, can, and don't often get capitalized in the middle of sentences and it's a crapshoot on when the beginning of a sentence will be capitalized or not. I need to turn it off so it just leaves everything lowercase. So no judgement from me!

Y/n was wearing her newly altered peach silk dress. The alterations were simple. The straps and hem were adjusted and the back column was dropped down a bit to drape to her low back. Her strappy nude heels were well-worn but comfortable because she was just simply not in the mood to wear the stiff, new heels she’d just bought.

The estate of Rebecca Manera was impressive. Probably equally as impressive as Leonardo Styles’. Most of the guests had already arrived by the time the Styles’ walked through the front door a little late.

Leo scolded Y/n for taking so long to get ready and making them run behind but in all honesty, she didn’t give a fuck. They could be half an hour late. No one would care. Why rush to go to a party? It’s not like they needed to clock in and earn a paycheck.

“It’s rude, Y/n. That’s why it matters. You’re so goddamn rude sometimes. You only think about yourself.”

She turned sharply to look at her husband in shock. That was the first time he’d ever said such a thing to her. Normally he had no opinion on how she conducted herself. She was chronically late. Yes, she could admit that was a flaw in her character but she was on time when it really counted. But to get so worked up over a party? And to insult her on top of it?

That had set the whole mood for the night. And now she was even more suspicious about this Rebecca.

But when Rebecca did make her appearance and introduced herself to Y/n she was taken aback. The woman had to be in her 50s. She was pretty, sure, but not quite Leo’s type. If Y/n were any sort of indicator of a type.

Servers walked around with trays and served the couples in attendance. There were only ten couples there as well as Rebecca’s two daughters, Y/n learned. Quite the intimate affair really.

Leo brought a glass of wine to Y/n as she chatted with Mrs. Topman (she never learned her first name, as the woman literally introduced herself as Mrs. Topman).

“Here you are darling.” His green eyes shined down at her before searching the room casually. She was on to Leo. But she found it odd that the woman he was with in the Hamptons was Rebecca. She was intrigued.

She watched Rebecca mingle and sip wine and laugh and there was nothing there that made Y/n think Leo would be interested in her sexually. But maybe that was it, Y/n thought to herself as she cocked her head to the side watching the woman speak boisterously. Maybe it wasn’t sexual. Maybe it was a woman he felt a deeper connection with than he did with Y/n. Perhaps it hadn’t started sexual but led there.

The snack table was set up with decadent treats. Y/n picked up a toast smeared with something pink, topped with heart-shaped tomatoes on top as she scanned the room for Leo, wondering where he’d gone off to. It hadn’t been that long but knowing about Rebecca being with him made things feel like she was in some kind of true crime detective story and was trying to get to the bottom of a mystery. Though there was no crime being committed, she could entertain herself with that thought.

“Are you enjoying your time tonight?”

Y/n turned her sight to Rebecca who was next to her picking up the same toast with pink schmear.

“It’s amazing. Your home is so lovely, Mrs. Manera,” she smiled and noted the woman’s massive diamond ring in addition to her massive diamond wedding ring.

“Why thank you. Phineas has put in so much work to make this large shell into a lovely cozy home.”

Y/n nearly spat her bite out. The home was anything but cozy.

“It’s incredible. Where is Mr. Manera tonight?”

“Oh, just over there,” she pointed to a man in tweed with thick black-framed glasses, “You haven’t met yet?”

Rebecca led the way as Y/n walked in her wake to meet Mr. Manera. She had still not spotted her own husband.

“Phineas, dear, this is Mrs. Styles. Leonardo’s wife.”

The man held his hand out, “Very nice to meet you, Mrs. Styles.”

“Likewise. You can call me Y/n.”

 “Well, Y/n. We’re happy to have you here. Where’s Leo anyway? Haven’t seen him.”

Turning around quickly to look over her shoulder she shrugged and faced the man and his wife again, “Not sure actually. I haven’t seen him in a bit myself,” she laughed. And before she could even think about what she was implying she spoke to Rebecca, “But I’m sure you’ve seen enough of him since you saw him in the Hampton’s this weekend.”

Rebecca and Phineas’ smiles dropped as they looked at one another and then back to Y/n, “I haven’t been to the Hamptons in over a decade. Are you sure you’re not mistaking me for Parker? Our daughter? She was just there all weekend with her girlfriends.”

Kenshi Yonezu @ Radio City Music Hall 🔩❣️🚧

i imagine everyone who read kenshi yonezu's latest tweet felt a similar rush of emotion. but. oh 🥹 oh my goodness. you know when you can just tell that something is written straight from the heart? it quite literally had me tearing up over breakfast the other day. maybe it's bc i spent the last week entrenched in art in a way that i haven't really experienced since school. but between all the galleries & exhibitions & guided tours & live shows, i was reminded how art builds bridges of real, genuine human connection unlike anything else. which made his message hit all that much harder, i think. it felt like he was saying 'i really see you guys.' when honestly, his music has made me feel seen all along. and idk i'm just so glad he enjoyed the tour & that maybe he felt seen too

but yes :) i'm home at last & things have stilled enough that i can finally write about The Grand East Coast 'Junket' of 2025. everything about it still feels so surreal ! i keep pinching myself so that it'll really sink in that i saw kenshi yonezu perform live

the day of the show i'd planned to stop by rough trade, but somehow they closed shop early, so i got in line instead. and as luck would have it, that worked out perfectly, bc i ended up right next to the video truck !! a ripple broke through the crowd & everyone got so excited when it pulled up & started playing snippets of concert footage

and speaking of the crowd ! what a fantastic turnout !! stands to reason that there would be tons of people, seeing as he SOLD OUT (!) 'the largest indoor theater in the world' 🙌 but wow !! completely blown away too by the number of people wearing merch from almost every era! even saw a few in cosplay for donut hole! i want to emphasize here that the venue had at least 3 merch lines (possibly 4?) that wrapped all the way around both floors, downstairs to upstairs. pretty sure i stood in the merch line longer than the one outside aslkdflsfjlkj. truly incredible. i got one of the reversible towels (which will soon be hanging on my bedroom wall across from my radwimps one). in both lines i encountered the sweetest fan ever who had personally made hundreds if not thousands of photo cards & buttons & handed them out to everyone! for free! for no other reason than to spread joy 🥺 you can see the ones she gave me in the bottom left photo

after that it was time 😈 by about 8:15ish most people had settled into their seats. but as soon as kenshi yonezu & the band came out on to the stage, every single person in the theater launched up & on to their feet! he began with red out (just like the album!) & from the energy in that song alone - the reaction it got - you could immediately tell that the night was gonna be something special. so many songs that i've loved for years were on the setlist! 感電！ゆめうつつ！LOSER ! アイネクライネ！still can't believe he played flamingo !!!!! that i heard m87 in all its glory! the visuals & set design were fucking gorgeous throughout the entire show, but that blue-green lighting will stay with me forever. when the first few notes of lemon played right after that, there was a collective gasp from the audience & a kind of revelry as everyone sang together & watched the dancers lift & lower the lights. btw the dancers !!!! were so good !!!!! the choreography & wardrobe changes between each song really added to the mood & atmosphere of the performance !

also gotta say i've rarely, if ever, gotten chills like those during 海の���霊. i stood there in complete awe, every hair on end, a sensation akin to the moment just before lightning strikes. the brilliant animation & the power in his voice as he angled towards the floor? god. i wish i could relive that again & again. same goes for kick back! the energy kept ramping up & up!!! especially when kenshi yonezu did his signature stunt of singing directly into one of the cameras & pointing it at the crowd. the 2 girls on my right & i were having the time of our lives, taking every opportunity to scream as loud as possible 努力 未来, A BEAUTIFUL STAR !!!!!!!!! 🌟

here & there throughout the show, kenshi yonezu would comment on the stage & how excited he was to be in new york (as it was only his 2nd time in the states). he paused & repeated 'すごい’ a few times, like he was at a loss for words, which made everyone laugh. bc i'm sure we could all understand. how else do you sum up such a magnificent experience? at one point the guitarist (who i've seen a lot of people refer to as naka-chan) took over. and. it. was. so great. he introduced all of the band members as 'amazing,' 'perfect,' etc & acted as though he was caught in slower spacetime?? idk but i loved every minute of it

the show closed out with the 2 newest singles, bow and arrow & plazma (which i was really hoping he would play !) followed by lost corner & おはよう, again just like on the album. おはよう actually played after the band had already exited the stage & the credits rolled. it was right at the end that i felt the full force of what had just transpired. just before the encore, during がらくた, i definitely cried a little bit. but those last 2 songs? ohhhhhh. thinking about all the things it had taken to get there. how wonderful the show was. living to lose. i'd come across a copy of 'never let me go' 2 days before i was set to leave & took the plunge & started reading it on this trip. so my entire understanding of the album was beginning to evolve & shift with new appreciation. i sat across from the venue - once the show was done - on the edge of this beautiful, lit fountain & let the night & all the emotion wash over me in a way i'll never forget

more than just his music & the themes of this album/tour, i'm really so grateful that he played here & hope he comes back soon! 💗

"What is going on, Bryce?!", the blindfolded Luna asked him as he led her into the Graveyard Shift.

"It’s a surprise, Lunes! Your Christmas present tonight.", Bryce whispered into her ear.

When they stopped, he carefully removed the blindfold infront of Luna’s eyes. Her blue eyes adjusting the light infront of her.

A beautifully decorated Christmas tree was standing in the middle of their living room and several presents were lying under it.

"So many presents?"

"Correctly noticed. And they're all for you. Every single one of them."

"But you didn't had to. One would have been enough.", her blue eyes met his warm gaze.

"I know, but... Uhhh, I couldn't decide which one, so I got you all.", he answered which made her laugh. Bryce Lahela was the most sweetest and kind person ever. He would do anything for her. His love.

Excitedly Luna Auclair sat on the floor and began to open her several Christmas presents one by one like a happy, little child. New shoes, a pair of flamingo sunglasses, an umbrella, headphones and even more...

"Ahhhhh, Bryce. So many presents and there are more than 15 presents which still need to be opened.", she squeaked while admiring the 5th Christmas gift which was a brand new snowboard.

"Glad you love them, Lunes. I hope you don't forget to give my Christmas present.", he reminded her.

Luna mischevously grinned at him, asked him to wait in the livingroom as she left in her bedroom. After a few minutes, she returned back to her boyfriend while wearing a hot olive-green dress. Her favorite color which sparked with positivity and good vibes only. A big red bows elegantly wrapped around her body, like the ones around Christmas presents.

"What's that, Lunes?", he couldn't hide his smile.

"Oh Bryce... Don't you understand? I'm your Christmas present.", she answered in a seducive tone and winked.

"Oh, ho-ho-ho... I love it!!! Can't wait to open it. Best present ever, Lunes.", he moved closer and planted a kiss on her cheek.
