Starfolk Lore!

(I'm stealing this term, if you don't mind >:D)

Anyways, Worldless lore! Because lore is my favorite part of every game.

From what we know, there are two main natures -- blue and orange -- that are constantly at war with each other. Once one wins over the other, the victor absorbs the loser, taking their energy and shifting both of their forms. They then swap natures, and the victor goes on their way while the loser bums around, probably out of exhaustion or smth. Blue starfolk tend to have either lightning or ice natures, while orange starfolk favor wind and fire (because colors~)

However, rarely, the absorption results in a sort of merge where the combatants fuse to become a single green starfolk. This is where Adaptation, Duality, and Yin-Yang come from, and you can see it happen in the Eastern area of the map. If I remember correctly, it's a crescent and ariman(?) that forms Quimera.

These merged starfolk gain an incredible amount of power, as the most powerful enemies in the game (*cough* Summum *cough*) and can be assumed to be a sort of ascendance, as they no longer obey either of their original natures. Also, from the character designs, it appears that the more green a starfolk has, the more powerful and "near-perfect" they are, hence the extreme difficulty of Summum's fight. The sole exception to this appears to be Edda and Aven.

While yes, Duality has two individual, fully-functioning parts that each have at least some independent thought, Edda and Aven are two completely separate beings. They are physically separated, even though you never see them next to each other unless it's in cutscenes or in special moves, unlike Duality who clearly merges to perform their giant star attacks. Part of that is logicked away to the functionality of gameplay controls, but still. There is no evidence of their merge until they touch, in which green light covers the screen, or the giant sword from Unified Division appears. We are clearly told that whatever they have going on is special in a way that has caught the eye of what is closest to a god in their universe (which is a whole other can of worms that I'll write about later). Either way, they're much stronger than the traditional green starfolk, as seen by the fact that people can beat Summum in 4 minutes *Gestures at speedrun video*.

Now, I also want to touch on whatever the heck is up with Edda and Aven's absorption. We can see in the background -- within 3 minutes of starting the game -- that whenever a starfolk is absorbed, they swap natures and are distorted beyond recognition. However, whenever Edda (and later Aven) does the same, they remain perfectly untouched while the enemy is completely obliterated. I, personally, think this is an ability granted to them following Aved's failed absorption of Edda at the start, where the two are something like a "ever-strengthening" or "consuming" being like how Adaptation is the "ever-changing" and Yin-Yang is the "stable yet unstable" being. Their initial merge is also probably why their own kinds attack them, which took me embarrassingly long to realize.

That's all I can really think of at the moment, but I might write more later.

Going on a walk with Phainon is either very fun or very annoying depending on the kind of person you are. He probably has acquaintances everywhere in Okhema and has to stop every 10 meters to greet people, catch up with them or help someone in distress. Excellent opportunity to make new friends if you're that kind of person and an extreme inconvenience if you're not :I

My take on a human Applejack

-> is not a student currently, works full time at her family's farm (might like to try out agricultural science once Appleboom is older)

-> is the oldest of the bunch (24)

-> is close with Fluttershy since she lives close to the farm and likes to check on the animals there

-> her and Pinkie Pie are cousins

-> gay ; is preoccupied with work to make moves though

-> met Rarity through Fluttershy. She often brings her resources from her farm or around town. She met Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmers through Rarity

-> met Twilight and Sci-Twi through Pinkie (it took her some time to realize that they were twins)

-> is the one in charge of making deliveries in town with her truck (designated driver most of the times)

-> is close with Starlight Glimmer

-> hat is from late father ; hair tie was part of her late mom's headband (it was divided into three and shared among the siblings)

I'm still kinda holding out for a stella pregnancy storyline just for the different ways they can incorporate it. More girls on fire stuff, her working in the bullpen, her teaching at the academy. It would be a nice way to switch things up, change the pace a bit. They so rarely have character step into different roles like that, it would be fun to watch

Yeeeeees as am I. I would actually love to see her working in internal affairs investigating corruption or alleged misconduct. There are literally 3 storylines that come to mind that would be really juicy.

1. Stella investigating Pascal for that assault on LT. Vale. 👀

2. A female firefighter lodges a complaint accusing her captain or lieutenant of misconduct & Stella is assigned to the case.

3. 51 responds to a call turns out to be arson, Kelly investigates for OFI turns out it's some big wig at CFD brass he then passes the case of to Stella to close out & they bring them down together

That's 3-5 episodes right there because, honestly, 1&3 could be 2 parters if done correctly :)

That's not including the GOF storylines, her creating or teaching a course at the academy or her advocating for better benefits & programs for expecting and working moms.

Also not including her & Kelly going to a parenting class or working in the nursery. Her cravings, being superstitious, Kelly being overly protective. There's a bottle episode in there also.

There's literally so much potential & so much to explore that we've NEVER seen in the 13 years this show has been on the air. 😩

Pete's fever wasn't going down. It wasn't really Pete's fault. He had started eating more regularly, even if slowly to not upset his stomach. (He didn't want to vomit his insides all over the duvet again. It hadn't been a pleasant experience.) He had started sleeping more, too, and even though it had mostly been accompanied by disturbing dreams and could be described as anything but nourishing, at least it was something. This wasn't really Vegas' fault, either. Well. It was. It was difficult to explain, and Pete didn't quite have the mental capacity or the patience to make Vegas understand why he hadn't magically healed in a day thanks to a bowl of noodles, a couple of pills and some bandages wrapped around his torso. In all honesty, that was a lie. Despite Pete's reluctance to admit it, he had been way more patient that he should have. More than he could sustain. Today, his patience seemed to be at its limit. Pete didn't let it show - he never did, he couldn't afford to, not even now - but he could feel it brewing under his skin. The urge to snap at an anxious Vegas hovering above him with blood-shot eyes and trembling limbs was big and tempting, but Pete knew better than to succumb to it. He simply closed his eyes and breathed in through his nose, trying to forget about it. Vegas, of course, wouldn't allow that. "Pete," he heard Vegas whisper. When he didn't respond, Vegas said it again, louder. "Pete. Hey, look at me." Pete did. "Do you not hate me?" Pete didn't answer. "Don't you want to kill me?" Pete sighed. He refused. H wouldn't give Vegas the satisfaction. "How would you do it?" This was starting to get irritating. "Vegas-" "Tell me, Pete. What would you do? Would you use your hands or a weapon?" Pete couldn't escape this. He realized when he looked at the pure desperation in Vegas' eyes. "I'm a bodyguard, aren't I?" he foolishly said, his voice breaking slightly. He lifted his head and stared at the ceiling. He could picture it; him wearing his uniform, blowing Vegas' brains out with his gun. The image brought him no satisfaction. Only a faint sense of dread he couldn't rationalize. Vegas' humming snapped him out of it. "Yes, I can see that. I can't imagine you using a knife, though." Pete felt slightly offended by that comment for some reason. "Why? Don't you think I have the guts?" "It's too... emotional a choice for you. You wouldn't use it to kill me." Right. Pete huffed in amusement. "I guess you're right. I'm not like you." This did the trick. Pete could feel the effect of his words, the hostility Vegas was emitting. It gave him goosebumps, despite the temperature of the room. The sound of the door closing harshly made him flinch, a racing heartbeat remaining for a while afterwards. It didn't bother him. He was finally left alone. It didn't matter if he'd manage to get better or not. If only Vegas could see that.
