waow 2024 is almost dead!!! gone too soon. feels like it’s been a big year for me art-wise for many reasons, BUT. i’m making 2025 bigger.... hopefully....i’ve made some art goals for next year which i won’t explain in detail but they boil down to 1) do more studies 2) tackle my weaknesses (backgrounds, dynamic poses/angles, uhhh lots of stuff i am a one trick pony right now) 3) get into drawing comics, all of which are in preparation for 4) take my story ideas more seriously and get started on one of the many graphic novels living in my head. i have one in mind i HAVE to complete in my lifetime or i will die, but firstly i’m gonna mess around with some little standalone svanhildr comics perhaps. goat fans rejoice.

a sora!!

my first time seeing one, and it was so casual that everyone who saw it was astonished—for such a notoriously shy bird it spent a lot of time out in the open, even getting so close my camera couldn't focus on it anymore! it was a lifer for quite a few people last morning ( ˙꒳˙ )

I really enjoyed watching it hop around looking for bugs and flicking its tail, and watching it disappear into the grass only to pop out instantly much further than I would have expected. it's also a lot smaller than I expected, only about the size of the red-winged blackbirds!

the thing is. juno & nureyev's relationship has been such a major guiding thread throughout the podcast and the major drive of season 5, and the fandom has built itself so much (as fandoms often do) around shipping the two of them.

and yet nureyev doesn't show up at all in the last episode! or, he does, but it's only implied (for all we know it could be like. alessandra strong)(i know it's not but it would be really funny) and we don't hear his voice.

and it's so important to me that despite the room that their romance has taken in the plot and in our hearts, his absence reinforces that the point of juno steel's story wasn't a lady getting his man, it was about learning to grow as person for himself and for his friends (and not just his love interest), and it was about finding his footing in life and being at peace with himself and his place in the world. and he did! his growth and relative serenity is so apparent and just. a balm to the soul

and the fact that his man is back is just a nice add-on, not a necessity for his happiness

#aikotoweek2024 #persona 3 spoilers #p3 spoilers #makoto yuki #minato arisato #aigis #aigis p3 #my art #decided to base this one on the answer/episode aigis!#when i saw the prompt i knew i wanted to draw aigis with orpheus #from there i thought of the answer and how orpheus is the first persona aigis awakens to there #i later decided to incorporate shadow protagonist and athena #since he uses athena in his boss fight #overall this piece was. very challenging for me #despite drawing persona fanart i've never drawn the actual personas before #so figuring out the proportions and designs of the personas #in addition to the perspective/composition of the actual drawing was tricky #but i think it turned out well! i'm super happy with how this came out #this was the prompt i was most excited to do :D #p3 #persona 3 #persona 3 fanart

So I just made the most half-assed, spur of the moment notebook, and I think it looks pretty cute 🥹

Disclaimer: I've done much better binding before, this was a very last minute, let's just have fun, quick thing, so don't judge it too hard 🥺

So! I was sorting through some papers and such, and I found these loose signatures I had taken out of an old notebook and never did anything with. Figured I could turn them into a cute lil sketchbook!

I ended up using just the three bigger stacks (the smaller I'll do later), and some used watercolour paper to make the inner case a bit sturdier.

Took out the fraying old threads, bound the three signatures together, and then stitched the harder paper cover.

Then I used an old sketch painting (I have LOADS of discarded paintings just laying around), and glued it to the cover (with just good ol' glue stick).

The painting is just acrylic on sketch paper (thinner than watercolour), so the cover is quite floppy and has a nice plastic finish. The paint was layed quite thick in some areas and textured, which makes it super nice to touch.

Size is slightly smaller and thinner than a B6, but bigger than A6. Here's a comparison with my A5 journal:

#there is some mild staining on the paper edges (due to time and storage) but otherwise the pages are like new #they are not super thick - juuuuust slightly above print paper (i'd guess about 90-95g) and very smooth so not great for watery paint #but it's perfect for everything else!#great to have it on hand!!! the floppiness is SO nice - i'm actually pretty happy with it #i have a lot of loose paper and unused pages from old sketchbooks and such. i might gather them all and make more OR one thick book #the first i did was quite a few years ago and i bound several different types of paper together (with coloured paper too)#it's a hard cover and quite thick a6. only a couple pages left - i used it waaay more than i thought i would #the binding on this one isn't the greatest BUT it's enough. next one i'll actually take my time and make it properly #darya does art
