Being asexual is just like one long game of 'if you had to, would you have sex with a man or a woman?' and then when you say neither the other person says 'but if you HAD to'

You’ve probably already answered this but: top 5 favorite (and least favorite if you’re alright with it) TMA characters ?
Also if you could be an avatar for any fear which would you choose and which would you be most likely to actually get ?
Favorites: (well I say favorites but. I don't really have favorites that much HAHA. I generally like all of the characters tbh)
1. Jonathan sims
2. Simon Fairchild
3. Mike Crew
4. Helen Distortion
5. Eric Delano (I'm gonna be so fr I just really like his voice)
Least favorites: (I'm ngl most of these are just sensory. I like all of these people 😭)
1. Jared Hopworth (I LIKE HIM. He gardens. That's so sexy of him. I just. His voice. It hurts me)
2. Nikola Orsinov (same reason as above. Love her but the voice hurts my brain)
3. Tim Stoker (see this is funny because I love Tim stoker. But also he reminds me of me and we can't have that. I microdose on Tim stoker)
4. Jurgen Leitner (I think he's silly. But in the grand scheme of things his death was objectively more gratifying than his life)
5. NotSasha (girl I like your vibe but also your voice. Hurts me)
Fear I'd want to serve: The Vast definitely
Fear I'd more likely serve: hmmm probably the lonely or the end

Your blog is making me want to replay Patho 2 again... I did play once on the intended difficulty, and then I replayed it afterwards on the easiest settings, doing everything and saving everyone and I'm ngl, that was some of the most fun I've ever had even though it wasn't quite in the spirit of the game haha
Tumblr media
The so-called spirit of the game is this senior citizen wirh an overgrown 2000s anime boy haircut who shakes his cane at you sassily when you choose to only swallow a handful of razors as opposed to the razor muckbang the game offers.
I finished the game on the hardest difficulty
Tumblr media
This was my first time playing the game ever. I straight up went to the intended difficulty, saved everyone, did everything, and never starved for a single day. I had 20+ Shmowders by the end. I was fully stocked on meat, I was fully stocked on homemade antibiotics and maxed the hospital shift each day.
All of that with only 3 Deaths
WHERE IS MY FUCKING CELEBRATION HUH? WHERE IS MY MEDAL? NO ONE THEW ME A PARTY, NO ONE INVITED BELLA HADID >:( MARK WASN'T IMPRESSED.
Fuck you Mark! ONE OF THOSE DEATHS WAS BULLSHIT YOU DUMB SLUT. YOU SPAWNED A GUY ON TOP OF ME WHILE I WAS PICKING UP HERBS, HOW THE FUCK DID HE ONE SHOT ME WITH FULL HEALTH HUH? YOU WHORE.
What I'm saying is. Look, we both finished the game on complete opposite extremes, yet we're both here. In a pathologic x reader blog on tumblr. We both had fun and shared a good understanding of the plot and characters. That's what matters. Everything else is just people patting themselves on the shoulder. You're the only one who will be impressed with the fact you beat the game flawlessly, and you're the only one who will be bothered by the fact you picked an easier difficulty
Because it's really not that different. To me, I have the kind of autism that makes games like pathologic smoother than water for me, I thrived on the ruthlessness of dark soul and did a no death run in darkest dungeon. But also. I absolutely suck at casual games, I can't play Stardew Valley unless I'm fully cheating, I can't for the life of me beat a single platforming game because I have a slow reaction speed.
Play Pathologic however you want! Ice-pick Joe isn't gonna pop from under your bed at 3am to beat you up with hammers. This is coming from the most tryhard difficulty elitism person there is in games.
Buttttt. I do recommend giving Pathologic classic HD a try. I promise anyone who beat Pathologic 2 on ANY difficultly will cuck tf out of the first game. There is no thirst! The vendors have unlimited money, and you can sell all of your trash to them! THE ECONOMY IS THRIVING I BOUGHT FOOD ON THE DAYS THE PRICES WERE SKYROCKETING BC I COULD AFFORD IT. I would've never financially recovered from buying food in P2 on any day that's not the first one. In P1, I rarely slept because I was deepthroating lemons and snorting coffee beans day and night since I could easily afford the health/hunger penalty.
Meanwhile, in P2, I'd save coffee beans to sell to get enough money to save up for army clothes.
The combat is so forgiving, the houses with good loot aren't the infected ones like in P2 but the burned ones! The AI in that game is so stupid you can trick plague clouds into disappearing if you stand still! You can glitch and jump over fences to take shortcuts through the town! YOU CAN SCAM THAT CUNT ANDREY STAMATIN FOR ENDLESS SHOTGUNS.
Lastly don't forget that 90% of the Pathologic fandom haven't even played any of the games at all. 70% probably never watched a single playthrough either and just video essays instead.
In the steam version of Pathologic 2, Only 10% of players who bought the game have ever reached the end.
Tumblr media
10% !!! That's us there! Me and You! It doesn't matter how what matters is that we both did it while 90% of people gave up.
And the situation in the classic game is even more dire tbh-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Only 6% ever opened the game and made it through the first day. Only 3% ever made it to the last day.
So, really good on you for finishing the game! Good on me for finishing the game! WE DID IT! YAY! Someone really should give Bella Hadid a call.
Also, please do yourself a favour and ignore whatever the video essayist says about the difficulty of the games. They're good storytellers for building an interesting narrative to watch, but they're not good at videogames assessment. Each of their reasons is very personalised by their own experience and doesn't necessarily mean other people will struggle with the same issues. Don't listen to anyone who tells you picking an easy difficulty ruins the game either, Pathologic doesn't relay on its brutal gameplay to shine, it can more stand on its own as a narrative story walking game. If anything, it would probably shine better on easier difficulties when you have time to dig for context clues and plot without starvation breathing down your neck. I missed some flavour text quests because I was too stressed about balancing different objectives to do them or pay attention when something important was said.

Hello! Um I know it's been a few months since you said people could ask you more questions on your tgaa thoughts, but I was hoping to ask about your baskerzieks and genshinxwife ones. Like how they met, or what their last in person convos went like before each couple separated/died, etc, bc I really adore your Lady B & Mrs. Asougi designs! They deserved first names 😭
Also I'd love to hear your genklint/ville thoughts too if you care to share those!
ALSO I wanted to say you're 100% correct that if Kazuma & Klint ever actually met good ending au Kazuma would think he's the most annoying person alive. It's funny if genklint is platonic or romantic too, it's like Herlock Sholmes is right there and instead Kazuma thinks his dad's bf (best friend OR boyfriend lol) is significantly worse. Something something hating your parallel
Anyway no pressure, and sorry if you aren't looking to answer more questions at this time!
HI i love to yap and to yap about dgs especially so you're good haha <3 i'm the kind of person who needs to be asked tbh bc i tend to be self conscious/doubt myself so questions are always super appreciated 🥹💗 this post got LONG so i'm going to put it under a break to spare anyone who's just here for art or trying to look at memes during their lunch break
TL;DR: klint and primrose were engaged as kids but it was broken off upon his parents' death, it was renewed when he earned prestige as a prosecutor; their last conversation was when primrose forced him to confess his crimes to her but she'd started having doubts months ago; in my favorite hc, gkv never pursued one another beyond dropping hints here and there but because i am bisexual i also want them to have fun; genshin and yukari met by chance as teens and genshin had to convince his father to let them marry each other after finding out she was pregnant; he could never say his last words to her because writing about the professor's identity could've endangered her and kazuma.
first of all thank you so much, it makes me so happy when people enjoy my designs and characterizations for lady baskerville and mrs asougi!! for clarity, i'll be calling them by the names i gave them in this post, primrose and yukari respectively.
klint and primrose's engagement was decided by their parents and they met as children- i think they were probably feeling awkward around each other for a while since children don't really care about such things (right..?) and primrose actually chose to spend her time reading when her father would take her to visit, and she might've even been more interested in talking/playing with barok because there wouldn't be the daunting idea of an engagement looming on the horizon lol. eventually, she and klint do grow closer and come to consider each other friends thanks to him putting in a lot of effort to make her feel welcome and also have more fun (she finds him boring- i characterize klint as having been a very serious and dutiful child, though he does play with and dote on his brother).
when the van zieks parents die in my hc, losing their life in a fire specifically, primrose's father chooses to cancel their engagement because he doubts klint can suitably provide for his daughter- a cruel but logical decision as klint is just fourteen years old with no backing or achievements. as an aside, the fire is declared to be an unfortunate accident but klint silently believes it was premeditated- this incident contributes to him considering prosecution as a career. out of care for his brother, he never brings up this idea to barok.
still, primrose is a very clever child who's acutely aware that her father's doting is a form of control (such as making her wear beautiful, white clothes to easily find out if she's been sneaking out, which i think i talked about before), and she insists on meeting klint either at his estate or in the city while they both (and occasionally barok) wear disguises/common clothes. the latter option allows them to meet people outside of their social caste, and to develop a sympathy for them from an early age which also contributes to klint's growing bitterness towards other nobles. throughout his struggle to be taken seriously by these men in spite of his age, primrose continuously encourages him and even spies on her father's meetings with other gentlemen to then report to him, and this continues in their adult life with her reporting rumors and "gossip" from other ladies about their own husbands (with perhaps dire consequences in the long run, haha...)
primrose has ambitions of her own, though, many of which are philanthropic in nature and stem from guilt at being born in a wealthy household to a father who does not care about people other than his own. they are difficult to achieve as an unmarried woman (or even as a woman in general), as her father would never greenlight her ideas, and as such she becomes enraged with klint when he allows the engagement to be dispelled due to believing she would ultimately "be happier with someone else" when it would effectively condemn any ounce of freedom she could have. from primrose's perspective, klint is the only candidate for marriage because he actually respects her and understands her as a person.
their engagement was eventually reinstated following klint's multiple achievements, chiefly when he made a name for himself as an extremely prolific prosecutor and primrose's father couldn't really object to it (ha) anymore. when i researched, i learned that men in the victorian era would commonly get married in their thirties once their careers were established, and i especially like that for this couple because it means that genshin could've attended their wedding. (it's also amusing to picture klint pitching him as the best man while primrose is firmly in barok's camp and they have a silly spat about that, haha. but ngl i prefer genshin as their best man because it was tradition that the best man would drive the married couple to their month long honeymoon directly after the ceremony so. he could stay behind a little while if you catch my meaning. teehee)
on the topic of genklintville, my ultimate preference/personal "canon" is that they never outright acted upon their romantic or sexual interests in one another although the tension was clearly there. but like any bisexual on the internet, i like to indulge a little bit, as shown in my previous paragraph hehe. i like to imagine a kind of kinship between genshin and primrose as they are interested in similar literature and share a similar sense of humor as well (chiefly teasing klint- in a deadpan manner for genshin). klint and primrose tend to dote on genshin in a way they think is discreet, because they can sense his loneliness at being apart from his family even though he generally doesn't voice it, but as we all know genshin isn't a fool and it leaves him quite flustered haha. genshin also relates to klint in the way that they are both heirs to something "greater than them" (the asogi clan/the van zieks heritage) and sometimes yearn to break away from it which might contribute to why genshin left for london if the first place. i'd like to add that if i draw genklint without primrose present, it's taking place with her knowledge and consent, though them being pushed to cheating due to increasing stress or suchlike circumstances is an interesting angle- it's just not something i see myself making at present. though now saying that has made me think about the ways it could be fun to explore the way klint's lying and gaslighting keeps piling up, so what's one more lie? so i'd be interested in reading a story that would attest to his guilt from committing the act and his gaslighting towards not only his wife but also to himself, hmm. the best way that i can put it is that if i'm to explore gk without the v, she must be a relevant character because i'm not about to discard a canon female love interest to focus solely on the yaoi lmao.
now for genshin and yukari, or genyu for short as i like to call it in my head (lol)... there's a lot to cover here too 😵‍💫 some of this, particularly the stuff concerning ayame, is still undecided on but i thought the more context the better!
to understand their dynamic, it feels important to state/repeat my headcanons about the asogi clan aka genshin's immediate family beyond her and kazuma, which were mentioned here. but to summarize, they are very patriarchal, strict, and the type to suppress their emotions. genshin is his father's illegitimate child, and his real mother is... hm, well, she won't ever appear in my art because it's suitable for her character, but she's a high ranking courtesan, aka "oiran", and therefore pregnancy/being a mother could bring shame to her and likely ruin her livelihood, because they are meant to project the image of being unattainable both in appearance.. and price. her disappearing for some months to a year wouldn't be all that suspicious as few men can even afford to meet her.
because the oiran brings the House where she works good money, they help her cover up her pregnancy and her son's existence by sending him to live with his father as soon as possible. once, genshin tries to visit his mother, but he is turned away. in short, his first experience was to be abandoned by someone who was supposed to love him. i think this backstory also serves to give reason to his name (written with the kanji 'shadow' and 'truth') because he is a truth meant to be hidden by the government. if you think about his father giving him that name, it becomes quite sad and implies shame for bringing his son into the world. i think it would also justify the personality i like for him, which is more reserved and serious than how i portray the rest of the visiting trio (with a boisterous but ambitious seishiro and a downtrodden but shy and earnest yuujin), and with a greater disposition for being suspicious... which is naturally a good thing for a detective.
genshin's father's wife lost her life to an illness some years prior to genshin integrating into the asogi clan, which is why he sought comfort from the oiran. to avoid unsavory rumors and to preserve both women's reputation, syoma (genshin's father) forbids his son from venturing outside of the house - paralleling primrose's childhood, which they could bond over later in life - until he turns a certain age. he's the dark sheep of the clan, to make it short. it's by sneaking out as a child that he meets seishiro, and then yukari who is accompanying ayame.
as an aside, i want to add that while syoma holds misogynistic beliefs, he still feels a sense of responsibility so he does eventually pay off the oiran's debt in the end- not that she's particularly grateful since he led her on and made her promise not to abort his child without ever planning to marry her. not a great guy, but def a fun character to write. those are things genshin deduces in his teenage years, and he swears to never become like his father.
as for yukari, her family history is also nebulous, and i don't know if i even want to establish her circumstances before meeting ayame and genshin because i like the meta irony of those details remaining unknown to us just as they were unknown to those around her outside of how she is tied to other people. ayame's friend, genshin's wife, kazuma's mother- never her own person. she reaches a breaking point during genshin's absence, but i won't go into detail about that for now because it's part of a long project of mine. what i can say about her is that she does housework for ayame's family in exchange for room and board, but she's not categorized as a servant because ayame cherishes her, a privilege that makes her feel awkward at times.
genshin fell for her due to her frank and joyful approach to life which was so different from the outlook he was raised on, and she piqued his curiosity with her unusual and often "silly", but free, behavior. he has the utmost respect for her, which is why as much as i like gkv and think it could work in a modern au with yukari's inclusion/approval + rapid methods of communication, i think realistically genshin wouldn't have the heart to start anything with someone else when she is waiting for his every letter so far away. he wouldn't be able to read the expression on her face, and she could easily lie about being okay with it.
in this wikipedia article about marriage in japan in the edo period (1600-1868), it reads: "Members of the household were expected to subordinate all their own interests to that of the [household], with respect for an ideal of filial piety and social hierarchy. [...] Marriages were duly arranged by the head of the household, who represented it publicly and was legally responsible for its members, and any preference by either principal in a marital arrangement was considered improper."
you might've guessed where i'm going with this, but genshin's father had already chosen a wife for him, and that person was ayame, who is from a 'good' family. obviously that marriage didn't go through with yukari becoming pregnant at 18 or 19 (!!), and syoma capitulated to genshin's request that he be given permission to marry his girlfriend which only further strained his relationship with his father further. as for ayame, she was fortunate that the man she was interested in was studying medicine, and therefore struggled less for her family to accept yuujin as her husband. but for yukari, although she knows genshin doesn't love ayame, there's always that nagging feeling that she was the "wrong" choice. after all, she has to witness the interactions between genshin and his family every day, and her presence is often the source of tension. her only rock after ayame's death and genshin's departure is her son, who starts rejecting spending time with her as he grows older because, well, he's a teenager (something i want to expand on in that project i mentioned).
in yukari's case, she was never able to read her husband's last words as even writing about the professor's identity could endanger hers and kazuma's lives, but perhaps genshin had promised he would briefly return at the half-way point of his stay overseas and then ended up having to break that promise by choosing to investigate the professor killings before eventually losing his life. yukari's feelings of helplessness were confirmed as the truth in her eyes then.
as for primrose and klint's last conversation, it's been sitting in my wips for a while LOL. i def think she had her suspicions, and when she finally gathered her courage to confront him, he broke down and told her the truth. i've revised this comic and especially its dialogue so many times that i don't even know if i like it anymore, please pray for me 😅
It's funny if genklint is platonic or romantic too, it's like Herlock Sholmes is right there and instead Kazuma thinks his dad's bf (best friend OR boyfriend lol) is significantly worse.
this made me laugh LMAO honestly kazuma would be so petty about it meanwhile i feel like he'd get along super well with the man's own wife 😂 i also think that as an adult kazuma would admire his father less and even be a bit of a tsundere lol, but yeah in a No One Dies/Good Ending AU(tm) he'd probably resent genshin a little for leaving him and his mother, whose struggles he witnessed firsthand for ten years. hell, maybe he does resent him in the current circumstances even if it's not the dominant emotion when it comes to his father, it of course being grief... still. lord van zieks get your paws off my dad!! 🙄💢 also if genshin starts reciprocating the attention kazuma might start killing LOL
...this answer is now well over 2000 words and i still feel like i'm leaving things out i feel CRAZY omg. autism diagnosis unnecessary atp lmfao.
also just found this in my #yukanotes i should've just copy pasted all this augh. i love yukari very much she is extremely dear to me. 😊💗
Tumblr media
thanks again for your questions I'M SORRY IT'S SO LONG....... i DO love to yap 🥹🥹💗

drdt death predictions and reasons (spoilers ahead):
Chapter 1:
Victim: Xander- cannon
Culprit: Min- cannon
Chapter 2:
Victim: Arei- cannon
Culprit: Ace- (99%) cannon
Chapter 3:
Victim 1: Arturo- MAJOR chpt.3 victim vibes, i can't explain it
Victim 2: Rose- i think she'll be a victim in either chpt.4 or 5 but it will be because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time
Culprit: Hu- i just feel like she's gonna snap and commit a murder, in this case it would be on accident and then someone walks in and she kills them to hide what she's done
Chapter 4:
Victim: Veronica- like Rose i think she'll be the victim in chpt.4 or 5 it would probably be that she wasn't the intended victim but got in the killers way
Culprit: Eden- i think she'll be a blackend because of pressure and wanting to escape the game, what i have in mind for this specific order of victims and culprits is that after Rose's death she becomes suicidal and tries to khs when someone walks in, this person would maybe try to stop her themselves or go tell someone. Eden would kill them to stop that from happening and then kill herself. this would play out kinda like Sakura's suicide did it THH with everyone accusing one another until they realized what actually happened, they would also think it was another double murder
Chapter 5:
Victim: David- i just feel like he'll be a chpt.5 victim, it seems like something that would suit his character, be so close to escaping and/or figuring something out and then getting killed before he can achieve it
Culprit: Whit- David would be getting in his way and close to revealing something so he'd kill him to stop that from happening (context below)
Mastermind: Whit- He's the happy go lucky character and while this could be a coping mechanism through the games or something that hasn't been revealed yet he never seems too bothered by the murders, executions or trials
Survivors:
Teruko- The protag, must I say more (it's either this or she'll sacrifice herself for the others to escape)
Nico- He's attempted to kill someone so I don't think he'll be the actual killer, if not a survivor i can also see him being a victim
Levi- Like Nico because he's been revealed as a killer in his past I don't think he'll become a killer and I don't think that anyone would be able to kill him given the strength or implied strength he's shown throughout the series
Charles- I can't see him as a blackend, victim or survivor tbh, if i had to choose i'd lean more towards victim but i think he'll become an ally and close to Teruko in later chapters
J- I just can't see her dying, like at all, J is gonna be that one person who survives and you're not entirely sure how but also it makes so much sense (such a queen tbh)
pls tell me ur theories and/or let me know if i made any mistakes!!

2, 9, and 13 for the ask game? ^_^
Isat ask game link!!! Thank you for the ask!!!!
2. Least Favorite Character?
Oooh, my spicy take first.
...Mal du pays.
LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN, I adore them in concept!!!!! I think mdp is a good emotional conclusion to the ghost arc and a good way to show Siffrin losing his resolve at the end of act 5. There was an amazing analysis post about mdp and Siffrin's relationship with their own homesickness as well. However. Ngl. I remember none of mdp's lines. Also, the "someone intimidating your loved ones yelling back they hate you" isn't my favorite trope either.
Idk, mdp did nothing for me. I'm much more of a "darkness parts of your mind sound like sweet nothings" sorta person rather than the intensity of mdp. I'm sorry little homesick fella. Love that you had the fucked up version of the death music though.
9. What would your wish at the Favor tree be?
I am. Limiting the range of this question because otherwise I'd be here all day. I am going to assume that we're in a similar circumstance as the party and we're about to go fight the King, and I'm just a little guy hoping for some favor tomorrow, and don't know the favor tree has actual major reality bending power.
In THAT circumstance, I'd probably wish that we all would survive the next day.
13. Favorite Line?
Don't make me choose between my darlings-
Tbh I could pick nearly any line from the Loop fight tbh. When looking for any one particular line, I nearly cried, so there's that. My darling Loop my beloved, I want to give you the world.
But if not for that, tbh both the act 3 and act 4 versions of Odile's quest just stick with me. In general, Odile's quest is just one of the most fascinating in the game, and provides such a depth to the world. But I REALLY like that quest in particular reveals about Siffrin. Particularly act 4, between the family quest and the sus quest, you get a lot of the reason WHY emotionally Siffrin sticks with the loops and doesn't tell their family what's going on.
(Is it any wonder you crave knowledge? Habits?!?) (If it all keeps happening the exact same way every time, you'll never lose anything, will you? You'll HAVE to remember it all, because you're living it!!!) (Forever living in memories you can't let go of!!!) (You're so pathetic.) (Telling the King to let go?) (You can't even do that. Can't let go of it.) (This perfect play.)
Also it's one of the few family quests where Siffrin thinks mean things about them while not in act 5 aslkdja .
(What a privilege, to be able to think your roots don't inform your identity.)
(chef's kiss) love that for you Sif. Go be a little mean in your head. it's unfair, but also the fact it took this long to be mean is impressive tbh. Also good set up for act 5 alskdjsa.

Heathers thoughts none of you asked for :)
Ok y'all so I've been on a plane so obviously I downloaded heathers and I thought "you know what? Lemme write down my thoughts, because I'm pretty crazy about this musical." So I did. These are the aforementioned thoughts. Enjoy if you choose to :)
Content warning: spoilers lol
Trigger warnings: murder, sex, suicide, sexual assault/violence, depression, anxiety are all mentioned. Also there is a lot of cursing because a lot of the songs cuss lol (if you've already seen it then there's nothing else apart from what's already in there)
It's about 3000 words long, and probably quite funny to read even if you don't know what's going on
Um yeah that's it, let's go!
My thoughts on Heathers
ACT ONEEEEE
- "September 1st 1989, dearrrrr diary"
- (ok imma nerd out on the first line because September 1st 1989 could be a reference to September 1st 1939, but that's it I promise)
- welcome to my school, this ain't no high school this is the *thunderdome*
- "if I'm not dead by Juneeee" yeah about that-
- "then I can blow this town," um Veronica that's jds job
- "fight the urge to strike a match and set this dump ablaze" girl if you knew what would happen next....
- RAMS EXPRESSION HELP
- Life really isn't looking beautiful Veronica
- "smartest guy on the football team :0"
- "did you really just talk to me?" "My buddy Kurt just asked you a question" *nod/grunt/chest pop thing*
- (they are soooooo not straight)
- "dear diary: whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?"
- BRO I THOUGHT THEY SAID "COLD BEEER" NOT "HOPE HERE" 😭
- Heathers' entrance giving vogue tbh
- "no discernable personality but her mom did pay for implants,"
- "id like them to be nicer," Martha ur so real for that
- so everyone is just going to ignore that line about kidnapping them? Ok...
- why does miss Fleming act so dismissive of one of her students having an eating disorder? Like ummmm safe guarding?
- chandler not even knowing Veronica existed till she saved her ass lmao
- FIRST SHUT UP HEATHER OF THE SHOW AYYY
- "if I took a meat cleaver down the *centre* of your *skull* I'd have matching halves.... That's very important :]"
- "ask me how it feels, looking like hellll on wheelsss... My GOD it's beautiful"
- THE RIFFS OH MY DAYS
- ok first song done :]
- "more like the heathers are my co-workers and our job is being popular and shit,"
- "but it's still the same me underneath!" "You sure? 🤨"
- "how very" !!!!!!!!!!!!!
- "heather. Bend over."
- "...are we gonna have a problem?"
- "LISTEN UP BIATCH"
- honestly playing dolls sounds more fun than smoking with some quarterback to me but like wtv
- "say goodbye to shamu"
- LET'S GO TEAR UO SOMEONES LAWN
- step into my candy storeeeëëëEEEEE
- honey what you waiting for... "SHUT UP HEATHER!"
- "don't just quote bodelare at me and walk away?"
- "I didn't catch your name..." "I didn't throw it 😎🔥" jd thought he ate
- "my buddy Kurt just asked you a question" "*huh*"
- "I'm not sure what your problem is, but I bet it's pretty hard for you to pronounce." Ok jd ACTUALLY ate this time
- holy shit (holy shit) holy SHIT (HOLY shit) HOLY SHIT **Holy Shit** HOLY shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
- "why, when you see Boys fight, does it look so horrible, yet feel so riìïíîīïìight,"
- "DAAAAAAMN"
- girlypop is infatuated
- her posing with him while he's frozen is pretty iconic tbh
- "if your still alive," she knows the chances
- (also death reference (?!?!?!?))
- the ball popping scene 😭
- "come on admit it you like the new kid," says you heather? We alllll know that you like someone who's name starts with v
- duke looks so scared :'(
- "they will get me safely through highschool," ehhhhhh
- "I'm not gonna change, I promise," ehhhhh
- it's my candy store it's my candy
- it's my candy store it's my candy
- it's my candy store it's my candy storeeeeeEEEEEE
- (also the choreography is eating)
- "VERONICAAAAAAAAAAA 🦅 DON'T FORGET GET TO BUY CORN NUTSSSS"
- "plain or bq?" "BBBBBBBBBQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅"
- "greetings and salutations" fhhfsjsfdj
- "did you say cherry or lemon?" "I said big gulp,"

can u make like. ur top 10 books. freak books. anything. kisses your brain
sure!! these r not gonna be ranked bc god knows i could never choose between them & also im gonna be annoying and ramble a bit about every one
death in venice by thomas mann (classic. but its so rich w metaphors and symbolism. if you do read it, i'd recommend reading "the uses of myth in death in venice" by isadore traschen afterwards, bc it does a great job explaining all the freudian allegories and mythological symbolism and u'll literally be tearing ur hair out afterwards over how brilliant thomas mann was)
the carnivorous lamb by agustín gómez-arcos (idc that i've already talked about this a gajillion times on here. its literally the best book i've ever read. i'll forever be obsessed and i wish there was literally anything that could ever hit as hard as this did. if u read it, anon (if u havent already) dont go through the carnivorous lamb tag on here bc u need to experience this without any big prior knowledge. trust me)
erotism: death and sensuality by george bataille (ik im just listing the classics atp. but how could i ever leave that one out. this ones a lot and depending on how into bataille & philosophy in general u are it could be too much. but if u havent already read this one anon, just read the introduction. trust me ure gonna loose it from that alone)
gemini by michel tournier (this one... took me ages to get through it on my first read bc of the way its written, but it was so worth it. not even gonna say much about this one - its basically like if twins by bari wood was good lmao)
incest: from a "journal of love": the unexpurgated diary of anais nin, 1932-1934 (or every anais nin diary ever in general, but this one especially. there was just no one that got it quite like she did)
indecent theology: theological perversions in sex, gender and politics by marcella althaus-reid (sorry for literally recommending theory. im pretty sure u were asking for fiction lol, but this (& althaus-reid in general) is everything to me. if u've any interest whatsoever in theology u should check this one out)
the sluts by dennis cooper (slightly controversial opinion i think? not that the book itself is controversial, just that dennis cooper is very hit and miss at times. this book tho, definite hit. its so intense and convoluted and i loved every second of it. read this before death and sensuality and u're guaranteed to think of nothing else for at least a month)
querelle of brest by jean genet ("those knock-out body fluids: blood, sperm, tears!". kind of a classic since theres also the fassbinder movie but i prefer the book tbh. its been a while since i've read it but it'll forever be in my favourites)
crash by j.g. ballard (yeah ik we've all seen crash but i need more ppl to read the book. hold on actually i need to insert one of my favourite bits from it here:
Reaching through the fractured windshields and passenger windows around me, I marked my semen on the oily instrument panels and binnacles, touching these wound areas at their most deformed points.)
ada, or ardor: a family chronicle by vladimir nabokov (one of the most beautiful books i've ever read. probably not the most helpful recommendation bc im pretty sure its a classic but i cant not mention it.)
also some bonus recommendations of books that didnt make the list bc they're either not freak books or bc i havent read them yet:
christopher and his kind by christopher isherwood (not a freak book. not even remotely. but will forever have a special place in my heart.)
the sparrow by maria doria russell (read this one anon!!! this would be on the list, but im not fully finished w it yet so i cant officially put it in my top 10 yet)
exquisite corpse by poppy z. brite (havent read that one yet but its on my list!!)
autobiography of red by anne carson (not a freak book. beautifully written, a work of art really)
as meat loves salt by maria mccann (havent read that one yet. hoping its as good as everyone says)
skagboys by irvine welsh (one thing about me is that i'll always find a way to mention the trainspotting books)

tell me more about the Bruce Wayne womb envy theory
LOL. alright then.
tbh this was mostly a joke, born from this post (+ probably influenced by the way one of my mutuals talks about david 8 in the alien prequels but that's neither here nor there xDD)
(david 8 character of all time though. I have mixed opinions on both of those films but he as the common thread uniting them is *chef's kiss*)
(also I don't really believe these men / "men" in david's case want to be pregnant but that's because I can't conceive of anyone wanting to be pregant if nature has spared them the ability to become so whether they choose to or not, but I acknowledge those are MY gender issues. bruce can have others if he wants xD)
but if I was to take it seriously and run with it, I'd relate it to how I can see bruce... wanting to have had his kids earlier in life. seeing them grow, getting to enjoy them in those early stages when they're cute and fully depend on you and don't argue back, etc. that desire would be tinted with guilt in dick's case and to a lesser extent tim's, I suppose. I've always seen dick's parents and the environment in the circus presented as a positive one for dick (I have yet to read any of that court of owls shit lol), but I do think the drake's were neglectful/emotionally distant/not people tim could rely on, just not in the way or to the extent fanon presents. otoh... well, there's an argument to be made that maybe the waynes and the drakes weren't so different, or were around the same place in the spectrum of parenting in terms of good versus bad (source: thomas backhanding bruce in batman #430), and that bruce might've had blind spots with them as a result. I have yet to read any comic where bruce judges the drakes parenting though I wouldn't be surprised if they did exist, cause he's hypocritical like that. either way, I think tim's not in the same place as dick in this scale of guilt vs. saviour complex lol.
meanwhile in jason's, cass's, and damian's cases, that wouldn't be an issue because he'd seen it as sparing them pain / saving them. which wouldn't be innacurate, although there's an argument about whether being raised by bruce would've fucked them up in other ways lol.
and ironically, I think bruce would feel this saviour complex the most with jason, despite his situation with the todds (no matter whether you believe they were shitty parents or just fellow victims of circumstance or something in between) being objectively not as much of a shitshow as being raised the way cain raised cass OR being raised within a cult with the expectation of eventually leading it, like damian.
I attribute this to how bruce's classism always made him perceive taking jason in and adopting as the act of saving jason, both from his situation and from jason's "fate" of becoming a violent criminal himself, while cass and damian came to be in bruce's care under different circumstances. and second, to how bruce perceives jason's abilities vis a vis cass's or damian's. cass and damian were trained, obviously weren't born knowing, but they are "prodigies", if only because of how young they started. bruce doesn't even seem to contemplate the possibility of them distancing themselves from the fight. moreover, jason was trained later and by him, specifically because bruce felt lonely, all of which would add a feeling of responsibility for jason's end. but most of all, due to his death (+ might makes right + just world fallacy + other such fun things), jason's abilities are perceived by bruce as lesser, and as less of an ~inherent part of him.
so, yeah, jason will always trigger his saviour complex in an extra fun way xDD
all of this to conclude that now I have this vision of bruce having a weird dream soon after jason's death where things are happy at home (his parents are alive in the dream, because that's a prerequisite for a happy one), and dick is a much younger kid than he was when they first met (it's sort of implied dick is also biologically his but not outright stated), and he's pregnant, and he knows it's with jason, who's safe and sound encased in bruce's body, where nothing can reach him.
(I wrote a bruce + grief fic very recently already but this idea is also tempting me now ñalsdjfasf)

How bad is the extent of Miles Edgeworth's mental state in rise from the ashes?
Tw: suicide, implied self harm
Obviously he ends up essentially leaving a suicide note of "prosecutor edgeworth chooses death", but that could be symbolic. He HAD already quit his job (one of the only things that had held his life together possibly since his father died) so him as Prosecutor edgeworth had essentially "died".
There's also the ambiguous definition of "dying" in the note. Did he mean it as in he would not be coming back (from death or to prosecution or to japanifornia or whatever) or as he would never come back as the same person (the "demon" prosecutor) or just to fake his own death for a little moral/mental break or whatever (everyone's allowed a little gay panic break every once in a while).
Who knows, and I genuinely love the ambiguity the game leaves.
Obviously, phoenix takes it as a serious suicide note, and is obviously absolutely wrecked by it for the next year. This is a topic often touched upon in fanfiction, though not in the game quite as much. Obviously it is hard to talk about mental health issues in a lawyer game, and they do it really well for a game not technically focused on it and from the early 2000s. Specifically for Maya and Edgeworth I think, as they both have loads of trauma that they deal with in fully different ways. Miles is more worrying though, as most of his coping skills are absolutely horrible, he has very little emotional support, and he's been pretty messed up in the head.
I honestly wonder a lot which people and relationships are meant to mirror the main characters, like phoenix saying shit like "that's so romantic- he saved you- I guess I'd fall in love too-" for the Delite's love story or edgeworth saying Adrian andrews codependent situation is very similar to how Franziska operates with her father or definitely Lana and ema reminding Phoenix of Mia and Maya or him literally telling Adrian andrews to kill herself in court. Specifically that last one. He specifically phrases it as "if you're going to say you would 'choose death', that is of no concern to me."
There is some especially worrying evidence in rise from the ashes, when he was at the most mentally unstable he's ever been. The only time that would compare was when his dad died when he was 8, but even then he had a new foster family to rely on (more or less). He's at his very worse, because, after 15 or so years, all of his past has just been dredged up and solved (by "that man" no less. Also, side note, does he only start saying Phoenix "saved him" after he came back from the dead?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really don't like any implications of why edgeworth would have traces of blood on the ground, especially at this point in his life.
So the options here are 1) it's someone else's blood, and maybe he fucking slapped someone so hard they bled or 2) it's his blood on his office floor for whatever reason. Neither imply anything remotely good for his mental state.
At this point it really could just be coincidence and ema is right or whatever. It's an easily missed peice, completely unrelated to the case and just an interesting tidbit for lore maybe. But sadly I found more evidence to support that that is not indeed the case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't remember what the plot point for edgeworth's knife besides the fact that he had it in the car for Lana to find.
Tumblr media
Mmm yeah ema. What is that little fruit doing with a knife? Very low chance that gay man knows self defense tbh.
Ema goes on to suggest he spends weekends "roughing it in the wild" and Phoenix basically laughs in her face (does this girl not understand what a homosexual man he is) as Edgeworth has probably never been in "the wild" a day in his life.
This doesn't feel like a coincidence anymore. There is cleaned up blood on his floor, enough for a nosebleed, and there is a knife in his car. One which he would probably never actually use on another person. This and then added to the fact that he had just quit his job and "died" shortly after. it's pretty obvious he is doing worse than even what he says, as he actually is kind of open about how he is doing throughout the games. Obviously he's always trying to hide his feelings (which Phoenix always sees right through), but during the case he does mostly explain to them exactly what is happening. Not that they do or even can help.
Tumblr media
His entire career was based around punishing himself for something he didn't actually do. There is no way he isn't harbouring a lot of self loathing, and it's hinted at throughout the games (again, hard to touch on in a lawyer game). This game is so hard to tell what the writers originally meant, both beacause of it being looked at through translations and it being written in the 2000s (like how fruity they 'accidentally' made them in the first game lol) so that's not an angle I can look at this from.
So, to recap, he
had all his past dredged up, obviously very painful
he is open about talking about it, but doesn't show the true extent of how it effects him
has a knife in his car that no one has any real theories on why he has it (and the blood)
There is traces of blood on his office floor
he has spent his entire life punishing himself, and then can't forgive himself for it
he then chooses death
when he comes back, he repeatedly projects onto Adrian Andrews
No wonder he's always saying Phoenix "saved him" he sure needed a bit of saving.
This poor, poor man. His story arc is so beautiful to me.

Seems like you've got a lot of thoughts on sacred bodies! Tbh I didn't entirely get it and moreso liked it for the art. Would love to hear your opinion :)
As the author says, Sacred Bodies is about "what different people/s see as taboo, and the socio-cultural lines that delineate propriety and deviancy." Which is a fascinating topic! They've created a really interesting world with a lot of really interesting character relationships and concepts but all of it fell JUST short of having real depth and punch. When I say I liked the idea of everything but found shortcomings to pick at with all of it, I mean it.
Barely organized ranting and a lot of it under the cut.
I should say right up front that I'm both a hopeless romantic and a conneseur of monster loving. However, the simple presence of either in a narrative isn't going to cut the cheese with me, it's gotta be Good. So here we go.
The World:
This relationship between humans and garaang as cooperative in the holy space above the clouds, viciously antagonistic below, is really interesting and I have a lot of questions about it. What made these apex predators choose to give up their perfectly successful biological niche and live mutually with their prey? What made humans decide to trust them enough to go along with it? The comic implies divine intervention, at least as far as the characters know, but that's a narrative cop-out, and I think there could be some interesting things done with that. Especially with the implication that this ostensibly utopian society is actually quite cult-ish. Garaang are expected to perform various levels of self mutilation to remain pure, its implied that mating with the matriarch leads to the males being cast out below the clouds, and a certain amount of abuse is definitely happening amongst humans. Nothing is what it seems here and there's a lot of potential in that.
Also humans are the ones who are raising garaang children, so what's up with that? Is having garaang chicks imprint on humans a key part of this coexistence, so that they instinctually see humans as "people" too and not automatically as prey? I'm also very curious about this thing where garaang have a hive-like biological/social structure. That's rare in anything more complex than insects and I'd think it'd have a lot of complications for a fully intelligent species. None of that really gets addressed though.
I'm also frustrated that what constitutes "sin" is more specific for the garaang (being predators) but not so much for humans. Obviously sex is meant to be strictly for procreation and there's an apparent aversion to meat(?) but does that mean humans here are vegetarian? Are the garaang allowed meat and humans aren't? Are there protocols to make meat acceptable vs unacceptable? Like it's generally implied that humans are more concerned with controlling sexual appetite and not what they can or can't eat, which is something in cultures that fascinates me personally (I'm a huge Dungeon Meshi fan btw). More on this when I talk about characters.
The Characters:
I love the idea of a neurodivergent/autistic character in general (hello, hi) but especially one who is used as an offering/sacrifice, something which probably did historically happen. Dualayim's abuse at the hands of her mother in some ways leading to her "promiscuity" is interesting but that's a whole can of worms that I don't feel the comic addresses honestly. I don't believe sex is inherently bad or evil but an autistic woman trying to cope with her abuse by having casual sex is... not a choice I'd make easily as a writer. Especially within the context of a society that, apparently very reasonably! associates promiscuity with death and suffering. Like, both garaang and humans have a very good reason to fear and abhor the feral urges that lead to the MASSIVE amounts of suffering that goes on below the clouds, it's not a theoretical. Dualayim's mother, abusive as she is, technically has a very good reason to fear and hate her daughter (some more). Somehow though, I doubt that justifying this prejudice in the narrative was Ver's intention.
Tolpan is... so fucking disappointing. I love me a good monster character but Tolpan is the quintessential monster husband archetype and it breaks my damn heart. He's big, outwardly scary but apparently harmless, he instantly respects Dualayim and asks nothing of her, he's deadly afraid of appearing threatening to her despite her having no reason to do so, he's attractive by the standards of his people and he has a respectable job. This is like a teratophile checklist, it's painful. He has basically no personality of his own. He barely even provides any interesting context for his culture aside from what's directly relevant to the story. He exists to be cutely awkward at over eight feet tall and fit the shape of Dualayim's needs and that's about it.
It's a stereotypical romance dynamic and it's boring boring boring. Tolpan and Dualayim never have any significant conflict aside from the very end when she misinterprets his bloodlust as sexual lust and it leads to the biggest flop of an ending I've read in a while. The whole story is about cultural propriety and deviancy and the two deviants don't even get to release their feeling of repression on each other? And yet this is a good thing because the story has established that he wants to fucking Eat Her, because he apparently doesnt have sexual desires. So while the theme is ostensibly "giving into natural desires" neither of them... actually does. And if the theme should instead be "outcasts finding interpersonal connection" then it still fails, because what they find is still only surface level because the characters have one pivotal moment of understanding and then... hug it out, DESPITE the narrative establishing their desires VERY EXPLICITLY. This could be a story about two people discovering a shared nature between them as animals that have multifaceted interconnected desires and needs, but instead it's satisfied with them just acknowledging that those distinctly separate desires exist. It makes no damn sense to me, and it shouldn't make sense to anyone who's been told to wait just a little longer for dinner or gotten interrupted while trying to get off.
Basically, Ver is a very good artist but they are not a very good writer and bit off WAY more than they could chew to try and cram into 60 pages. This is the kind of story that could be told by someone with a lot more experience in literal volumes of material and also the help of an editor who knows from more than AO3 fics. I want more. I want it to be good. It has SO FUCKING MUCH POTENTIAL it makes me want to tear at my hair! But every time I read it I keep asking questions that the narrative doesn't seem prepared to answer and I get more frustrated every time.

Ok, so as much as the Hunger Games scare and unnerve me as a concept, I really want to learn so many things about how they played out through the years...
Let's start with the first games ever. I wonder how long they took and what happened, who was the victor ofc, I think that in this exact case, all tributes had more or less equal chances as they didn't know what to expect, but most importantly, how did everyone else die? Did anyone actually kill another tribute, or the arena finished them? Because we already saw what's going on in the 10th games and tbh, yes, there was a group that was ready to kill and all but most of them were just scared and didn't want to kill/hurt. But they got to watch 9 games before that and already had an idea what was to be expected. And also, this arena didn't seem that easy to control as the ones in the 74th and 75th so what happened during the first games?
Then there's the First Quarter Quell. It's been a while since I read the books and I don't remember seeing in the movies but it goes around the fandom that the twist there was people from the districts voted for who goes in? How crazy is that? Tbh, if I have to number the wickedness of these quells, I'd say this is the worst, followed by the victors entering again in the 75th, and then maybe the most... Mild would be the Second where it was double tributes. Because yeah, double the trubutes is awful but... they're all endangered and 23 or 47 lost lives is... when it comes to having large number of victims, somewhat not that crazy. And only victors entering again is also so crazy and twisted, like, look at them, they're all mostly mentally or phisically damged but imagine being chosen not in some large poll with numerous other names in it but because people choose you?! Like, neighbours, people that know you actually looked at you and decided "Yes, they'll be the ones doomed this time." How did this one even go?? I've already discussed this with friends and we were trying to decide if some of the districts chose the ones most likely to win, or just the ones they disliked for one reason or another. But come on, it's crazy. Though, this might be eventually how the idea of Careers appeared. But I also wanna know the victor of these games because just imagine winning games in which people you know put you in? How do you get back and live... Not a normal life but some kind of life and you just know people you interract on a daily basis send you to your death.
And then, of course like most people in this fandom, I want to know more about the games of the victors we've seen. We have some of them discussed and shown in bigger details but still, maybe just a little more information and details about how exactly these games played out wouldn't hurt...
I just said earlier how the Second Quarter Quell was maybe the most okay-ish when it comes to the twist but this doesn't make it less tragic. And we first see Haymitch when he's older and he's... Well, a total wreck, dealing with alcoholism and all of that and you just wonder how this guy even won?! And then we later learn how he won and what led him to become the way he is now but still, it's pretty crazy that he won when there were not 23 but 47 other people. And yes, he "cheated the system" but I don't really think he was the first one. As I've seen people pointing out, so did Lucy Gray and so did Katniss and Peeta. And I believe others also found a way to just... Survive. And as I sae in an earlier post, who was his mentor? I think there wasn't one. And there were surely Careers in these games too. Wasn't the last girl he was left with a Career? So, this guy from District 12 managed to win a game where there were double tributes without a mentor even. And then he just keeps suffering and honestly, I absolutely understand him. Honestly, I think for all he went through, alcoholism is an understandable thing, I probably would have just commited a suicide or sth. And the more I think about it, the more I think the real reason he was punished and had his whole family killed wasn't because he "cheated" but because he was someone who was extremely unlikely to win and yet he did and this is what really made lots of people angry. He wasn't an "interesting" tribute.
And speaking of "interesting", here comes Finnick. Yet another victor who we know most of the details about but still. He's famous for winning sg only 14. Was he a Career? Was he just unfortunate? And his whole story with Annie. Did they know each other before her games? Did they fall before or after that? Was she a Career? I've seen lots of people commenting on it and how she might have been, even though she developed problems after that. Likee, it's one thing to prepare for the games and a whole another to actually be there. Yet this only makes me think that if this was the case, they probably became a thing after the games. I just can't imagine him knowing what it means to be a victor (him, of all people!), and actually supporting her decision to take part.
And on the topic of Careers, I really want to know how this became a thing. I have to admit, I somewhat see the logic of children starting to prepare and train for the worst but I can't fully wrap my mind around the idea of someone volunteering for the games knowing fully well that they have a very big chance of dying. No matter what, there's is only one victor always (with one excpetion but we know how bad this played out in the end) so to enter willingly games where you just know there are others who have trained for? And one of them is also from your district and you've most likely trained together?? What's going onn?
And how some of the tributes would form packs. I actually want to see how games like this one played out. Haymitch and the girl from 12 (I know her name but I won't spell it right) broke theirs because they didn't want to kill each other in the end but there surely must have been games where this was the case in the end. A group of people who had been hunting down the others together would have been the only survivors in the end and they must have had to kill each other eventually. How do you even kill someone who was your ally and you had each others' backs until this moment??
And I also wonder how many people had won similarly to how Foxface got close to winning. By just avoiding the others and survivng. And were they punished for it later too?
Also, when and how did the victors become public and famous figures? We saw Lucy Gray after her games back in 12, continuing her life almost as before (though we see this through Snow's eyes so I don't claim she didn't have a hard time, it's just that she was left unbothered, mostly). Then, the 11th Games is when the Victor's Village first became a thing. And the tours? Everything else? The way the victors would be used by the Capitol for the rest of their lives? When did this become a thing? I can't help but think this must be just another form of punishment that was implemented there. They survive yet they suffer for it in other ways.
I just really need answers and these are only some things on top of my head now, I might add to the list later...
If anyone is interested in indulging and discussing these or something else, feel free to DM me..

Did the death one!
If you had to remove one book from the series, which would you choose?
Oh this is hard for a serialised medium. The cheap answer would be erasing Costa's run, because mostly it is Nothing written by a guy unhappy to be writing those comics at all who constantly spins his wheels- but I mean, Barber does a shocking amount of work I like which does in fact refer back to that mess, and I'm not sure totally erasing it would therefore overall work. Same with stuff like the Autocracy/etc series, it's not good and mostly ignored, but it influenced MTMTE Rodimus just enough that getting rid of it seems... mmm. The problem with 'removing' this or that bad volume of comics is that very often in IDW, a later better concept requires they be there.
...at the risk of attracting the sort of person whose hatred of said series is uhhhh, extreme and uncomfortable and ungenerous: I do not think much would be lost without TAAO. while I like a lot of Scott's other work in IDW- I think she did some genuinely great stuff with Windblade in minis, I love the Combiner Hunters oneshot and wish she'd written more Arcee actually, and I find the sheer hatred she attracts for TAAO very odd and unearned... tbqh. TAAO is mostly spinning its wheels when it's not just giving us a much less interesting version of what Barber did with Starscream, tbh; not a sin or anything, but ultimately I find it largely unnecessary in how it fit into that era of late IDW1. I would remove that brief ongoing run with the caveat I would like to replace it with, say, another self-contained Windblade limited run comic she wrote or something. I think Scott did much better when working with a smaller scope and characters she was more directly involved in introducing and developing, and the very short run that TAAO had ultimately had didn't help her out at all in taking her concepts to interesting places. If I can say I would still have her writing a third Windblade mini or something, I'd probably nix TAAO and have her working to her strengths on self-contained miniseries.

I just finished watching the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...and I have...thoughts (along with some bad grammar)
This is an overall negative post, so if you don't like that keep scrolling. If you like this movie, go ahead and scroll on past if you don't want to read this. If you want to debate me, then hell, go ahead, I might be wrong in some areas and I'm fully willing to admit that. I'd love to see anyone's take on this movie.
To say real quick, I haven't finished reading Dracula (over 1/2 through tho), Sherlock Holmes, 4 billion leagues under the sea, and a few others.
Also...spoilers...obv
(last note: I am not against retellings or that stuff, I'm just rating it on MY OPINION of these little guys and all that stuff. This is depending on how much I like them from just a writers sense.)
Tbh I really love the idea of crossovers, I love so much seeing the babies all together (I am working on a crossover myself so...) but I feel like this one was just...mediocre
First up Jekyll!
Number one, assuming this takes place after the novella, that is not how HJ7 works. Jekyll turning back into Hyde is not right then. At that point, Henry would be living on a timer rather than Hyde.
Also, little pet peeve...THE POTION SHOULD BE GREEN!!!! THE POTION'S FINAL COLOUR IS GREEN AND THEY MADE IT CLEAR!!!
Also Jekyll is a doctor, he acts like the fucking wimpy Swiss man from Frankenstein. Jekyll is meant to be a (mentally) strong man who experimented on himself and kept good notes during the whole thing. He is a doctor; he is used to seeing some shit.
Also...why would you make Hyde look like that? One of the few clear physical descriptions in the book is that Hyde is much shorter than Jekyll, but he's...hulkish. I don't like that because it takes the monstrosity away, pinning it all on looks and not on action.
Also why Paris? Why did Hyde run to Paris? There wasn't really a reason for him to do that in a writing sense.
Upside: At least he continues to run on rooftops. All Hydes run on rooftops; it is not optional.
Next on the Chopping block is Dorian.
For a moment there, I really thought they ruined Dorian, but hell yeah! They kinda did it!
I wish they'd had another actor to play him, since the dark hair makes him look a little malicious, which is quite the opposite of what he's supposed to look like. He's supposed to be a child-like and innocent; deceiving.
Also...what the fuck was his ending?? Like he doesn't perish if he looks at the portrait. It literally says earlier that "the last time [he] looked at the picture" which literally contradicts what happens later. He can look at the picture, but chooses not to.
I am glad they decided to not have him redeem himself. That fits a little closer to the book.
For Mina!
Quick thing: I have not yet finished reading Dracula, so I have no clue what's happening there or why she's the vampire (please don't spoil it) so I won't say anything on that (cough cough...should've been Carmilla)
I don't like making women the sole love interest. It feels weird. Literally three people liked her (well only 2, Dorian was pretending) out of five. Make it interesting, make it something someone would ship...there is literally no chemistry between any of them (except Dorian, and we don't even get a proper "oh yeah I hooked up with him" moment. It's only implied. When did that happen???). Also, Mina isn't that kind of person. She's (in book) not looking for romance in that sense, she had a husband, and I'm pretty sure she'd probably stay faithful to him even after death.
Speaking of Chemistry, why tf is she a chemist? Jekyll should've been the chemist. Mina is literally known for being able to write in shorthand, and they could've used that to her advantage. Again, please excuse this if somehow Mina does become a scientist after Dracula, but considering people's views on women in that time period, it's unlikely.
Skinner:
I think that's his name...idk. I have not read the Invisible Man, but why would they kill off Griffin? Like Jekyll dies, but he doesn't have a replacement. I can't say much since I haven't read the book.
I think that's all.
Thank you coming to my Little Leo lecture, and I hope anyone reading agrees, or can hopefully handle this as a mature adult. If you have other thoughts on this movie (whether they agree with mine or not) go ahead and share them, I'd be thrilled.
I may update this as I have things to say, but idk.

insurgence rewrite ocs? also are you keeping the amnesia bit? (also eee someone else rewriting insurgence!)
As of right now, I have two ocs! Yancy(they/them), the main protagonist, and their mom, Bree(she/her)!
I tried talking about Yancy before, along side Damian, but it got too long and felt convoluted. What you should know that, yes, Yancy has amnesia like the player. The end result of that is them being more...apathetic, to the things surrounding them. Having no memories of who they were and what were they like kinda left them in a state that they just don't seem to react to the things around them. They don't even speak much, preferring to just listen. That isn't to say they don't care about things, they do, but for the early parts of the story, they are pretty much just going along with whatever is happening. Though, tbh, that's kinda a Yancy thing in general, with or without the amnesia. Yancy's relationship to Damian is pretty important! Two lonely kids who end up getting attached to one another, and yet, Yancy doesn't seem to give as much as Damian does, and Damian tends to assume what Yancy wants. This comes to a head when Damian get's taken over by the pokevirus, and that's when Yancy realized how important Damian is to them. It hurts even more since Damian ( under the influenced of the virus) stated how he truly felt: he felt like Yancy ( and Nora) didn't really care about him. That they didn't see him as a friend as much as he did. And the scary part is that he was kinda right! It made Yancy really think about how they've been treating Damian before hand. Que Yancy and Nora's "I miss Damian" arc.
Bree is Yancy's mom! That wasn't the case before, she was some lady that ended up being involved with the kids ( against her will) but after thinking about it, I ended up changing her to be Yancy's mom! I'm still figuring out her role with the plot itself but here's the deal: Her and Adam? About to get a divorce. For several reasons- Adam's work as augur was taking away a lot of time from his family. Taking away time from their marriage. Bree was also busy, as a news reporter, but she at least tried to give time to her family. She doesn't blame Adam, btw! This was just her realizing that things weren't going to work. There's also the issue of, uh, Adam preferring to hide Yancy away so the cults won't get to them, and Bree being like " hey man, maybe don't isolate our kid even if it's to keep them safe". So there was also that. Bree is overall a nice woman, hard working and doesn't take kindly to nonsense, but simply wants the best for those she loves. When Adam and Yancy were pressumed dead, the poor woman grieved hard, part of her feeling it was her fault. One thing I'm always debating on is whether or not she was aware it was Jaern. If she did know, then Jaern would have had the woman under his thumb, and was probably be forced to spread propoganda for him. She doesn't want to do it, but any other option meant death. If she didn't know, then Jaern would have acted as a friend to Bree, comforting her in her time of need. While she is grateful, and was eager to vouch for him, Bree isn't dumb. She's a news reporter after all, her job is to be aware of her surroundings. She grows suspicious of Jaern over the years, but can't ever really find solid proof of anything, not to mention the guilt of being suspicious of a dear friend. Regardless of which one I choose, one way or another, she will see Yancy again, her child. And that alone is enough for her to take action. Again, I don't know how specifically, but yeah! That's Bree, she's so cool.
I don't want to leave Yancy with amnesia forever, of course, though I'd imagine Dream Eater is a very efficient way of losing memories, so maybe a trip to the Dream World would help get them back? Or maybe some help of the Timeless? Who knows, I'm still working on it.
Upon writing this I realized I have more ocs, lmao! Whoops. In fairness I haven't thought of her in some time.
Demeter is dead by the time the plot starts, but her impact is pretty important. She is the mother of Diana and Persephone, and a powerful magician. She was the one who created The Oracle, Seren. Demeter was well aware of the power she held, was well aware of how favorable it was for the cults around her- so she hid her and her children away in the forest, protected by a seal. Only she was allowed to go outside of the seal, giving her daughters the strict rule of staying within the seal. Of course, being rebellious children, they disobeyed, and was promptly captured by the Infernal Cult. Demeter found them, and tried to save them with her powers but....she ended up failing, and dying in the process. While she isn't present in the main story, her over protectiveness, her death, as well as being taken in by the infernal cult, caused a looooot of trauma for the twins.
The final oc is honestly just a concept - I don't want to make things super complicated by adding so many ocs when the game already has a lot of characters- but! I've been thinking about adding another chosen one- one that's chosen by marshadow. The concept is that she's a young thief, particularly raiding ruins cause " no one cares if ruins get raided lmao" ( Nora cares. Nora cares a lot), all in effort to make money ( and bc it's fun). Ever since I started developing East more, I've been playing around with the idea that she could be East's adopted sister or something, and the reason she's stealing so much is to help East gain money to run away from Jaern. Not that East knows any of this. Again, it's honestly a cool idea, but I'm worried about crowding things up.
And yeah! That's all the ocs I have!!!!!

my love!! 14 & 17. 👀👀
cloeyyy my love hi ty for asking mwah <3
14. Would you rather have Sukuna as a roommate or fight Mahito one-on-one?
the gun would go off !
if i had to i'll take sukuna as a roommate. murderous and cannibalist tendencies aside; I don't think he'd be the worst roommate?? like I can probably get away with not interacting with him at all. i mean I'd probably die either way, tbh but a mahito death isn't even a death technically. again, sukuna as a roommate.
17. Match your favorite JJK character with a song.
ok I don't have one fav character but let's go with nanami, who I have an entire playlist for, but if I had to choose just one:
jjk ask game (send an ask)
