Akatsuki’s Healing Unit

Dating (eventually engaged to) Kisame Hoshigaki

Responsible for retrieving any potentially fallen comrades before their deaths

Experimented on and kidnapped by Orochimaru in her teens and granted a curse mark (jugo chakra form)

Curse Mark Manipulation causes her to drain energy from flora and fauna, transferring it into nature chakra for her chosen usage

Staring into space more often than not / Head in the clouds

One of the few Koizumi remaining, and she isn’t fond of her family

Doesn’t usually go on missions herself, but rather instructed to follow at a distance in case things go awry (aka my excuse for none of the Akatsuki can die)

design points: kazuma, as a child, has chubbier cheeks than his father at the same age, and he gets his silkier hair from his mother. genshin's hair is drawn almost entirely with sharp angles. his ears stick out more. he, his own father, and half sister have vertical pupils like snakes might have. genshin's sister's hairstyle is meant to resemble a chonmage, minus the shaved part. she usually wears masculine clothing outside of formal occasions and around the house.

headcanons: genshin is his father's illegitimate child. he was brought to the house before he can remember; his mother left him with his father because she could not take care of a growing child (lives and works in the pleasure district). after his wife passed away, genshin's father decided to raise his then only child (miwa) as a man so that she could inherit the clan one day. this afforded her with privileges a girl normally wouldn't have in this time period, and she took much pride in living up to her father's expectations. this changed when genshin, a boy, arrived, and the resemblance to his father could not be ignored. miwa now finds her newfound privileges threatened by a mere child, so their relationship is naturally tense. she is one of the few people to encourage genshin to study overseas; it's unclear whether it's entirely for her own motivations to get him out of the way or if somewhere deep down, a small part of her wants to support her brother's goals. important to note that genshin isn't even interested in the clan beyond training his own disciples, so she's fighting this battle all by herself.

Here are the last OC designs I had left to do! 29 characters total, I could almost make my own Fire Emblem lmao. But I feel pretty proud, I don't think I've ever put so much effort into something haha. And considering I've never worked too much in character design, I think some of them look pretty good! Now that I finished with the designs, I hope I can start making proper illustrations of them (some short comics even?). I still have some writing left to do though, so I'll keep updating my Toyhouse.

By the way, this will probably be one of the last posts of the year, I'll be taking around a couple of weeks off starting December 25th and I don't think I'll be too available to draw during that time. C0mmissi0n forms will stay open if anyone wants to hop into the waiting list though.

My friend @tombstoneinfire and me created ParaLive OC who makes Shion Kaida much better as a character, in our opinion.

Please give a warm welcome to Shion's mother, Yukari Kaida-san.

Here's a bit about her background and today's life:

— she gave birth to Shion prematurely and fought for his life, had been barely recovered from the childbirth;

— she heard the question “Is he contagious?” about Shion more times than she can count;

— she used to work as an escort to earn money for bringing her son up;

— all her romantic experiences were extremely unlucky, since most men saw her as a sexual object, especially when they had found out about her job;

— she went to prison after she killed her boyfriend in self-defense;

— even before going to prison she had treated other girls who had been working in her job sphere very well and sisterly, and her will to help other women became only stronger in women's prison;

— she has started a blog about her life and experiences as a former escort and prisoner. In her posts she warns young women against life she had before, highlights the stories her subscribers share with her, and organizes charity fundraisings;

— she loves her son by all her heart despite everything. But she deeply regrets she couldn't be with him at very important moments of his growing-up and couldn't protect him from many terrible incidents and mistakes;

— now she works at a domestic violence shelter and plans to found her own in the future because she believes there should be more such places in Japan;

— she actively blogs and supports GokuLuck by attending all their performances and helping guys at the backstage.
