thanks to all the dawntrail criticism, i’m rapidly learning that what other people think of as “pacing issues,” i think of as necessary time spent getting acquainted with a new environment, its history and the folks that live there. what they felt was a slog, i felt was the equivalent of going on vacation and submersing yourself in rich, previously unknown cultures.

so basically what i mean to say is i have a true adventurer’s spirit and everyone who gripes about this expansion’s pacing is a loser. (SORT OF a joke. but also not really. but also really. but also n)

thinking about that very brief moment after jess says “hobie you’re not helping” and hobie says “good” where there’s a split second you can see the gears turn in miles’ head as he tries to figure out what that little interaction means even though he’s definitely got more pressing shit going on. idk it almost like he’s grounded by that eye contact with hobie before that escape + big chase and BOY do i love it

The thing that I feel like people need to understand about whump is that it’s inevitable that some people are gonna be into it sexually and it’s inevitable that for some people it’s also a kink and it’s inevitable that some people fantasize about whump scenarios. And that’s fine. There ain’t nothing wrong with that, if that makes you uncomfortable you don’t have to interact with those people, there is a block button for a reason.

But just because it makes you uncomfortable don’t mean it’s wrong or bad. You can’t come to a community for weirdos, that runs on art and writing made by weirdos, and then get all upset when hey! There’s weirdos around here! The person who writes whump because they think it’s hot ain’t more weird than the person who writes whump because it helps them vent, and that person ain’t any weirder than the person who writes whump just because they think it’s neat. By the standards of most people outside the whump community, we’re ALL weird for enjoying it at all, so there’s no sense in getting all high and mighty because you believe you enjoy whump in the most pure and moral way possible, unlike those “degenerates” so to say. And honestly, if you aren’t mature enough to understand the simple fact that just because someone likes something in fiction, or just because someone likes to fantasize about something, that absolutely does not mean they want it in real life, then you probably aren’t mature enough to be having these discussions about whump/kink and whether it’s “okay” or not if someone gets off to it anyway.

still thinking abt anya and how other ppl r characterizing her tbh… like I know it’s a regular ass fandom thing to take meek women and turn that dial up to ten but like… I genuinely do not believe that Anya is anything like how we see her thru jimmy’s ryes 😭 I don’t think her interactions with curly are even her being herself to the fullest extent, like, knowing he’s jimmy’s best buddy and whatever. in her last moments she’s self assured and confident, and of course u can argue that it’s because. yknow. but I believe that she was probably that way before the tulpar as well. likeeee she applied for med school 8 times. that reads imo as somebody who is sure they DESERVE to be there, who is stubborn and strong willed, unlike the way a lot of people portray her. she acts that way around jambalaya and curly because she knows the character she’s been typecasted as by them. I don’t think she’s like, this secret mastermind supervillain or anything, but I think she’s a very smart, capable woman who knows who she is and why she does the things she does
