Okay okay okay. Hear me out: Apollo x Telemachus.

I know I sound mental rn but it would be REALLY funny, and honestly kinda cute. Like you cannot deny that Telemachus would be Apollo’s type. I fear local pretty young prince is exactly the kinda person Apollo would be like “yeah I’d hit” and Tel would honestly probably go from “why is this god talking to me so often?” to “wait is he flirting with me?” to “wait but I don’t like men… but like Apollo’s kinda cute… wait no!” to “okay so maybe I like men but do I wanna get involved with a god?” pipeline of self discovery era all because the god of archery and music came down and started flirting one day

Athena is VERY unimpressed with her half brother for this one of course 😔 she is in fact their biggest hater (Ody is close in second he wants Apollo AWAY from his child)

Penelope and Hermes are very supportive of the relationship though. Penelope more in a “as long as you’re happy and he doesn’t hurt you or get you hurt I’m fine with it” way. Hermes though, he actively encouraged Apollo to start flirting with Telemachus to begin with (great grandpa being a wingman to get you set up with a god? More likely than you think)

As for the rest of the Olympians? Zeus is wondering why his existence is haunted by Odysseus and his family, same with Poseidon. Artemis is entirely unsurprised her twin brother has decided to start dating a mortal prince, it’s very on brand for him. Ares couldn’t care less, same with Hephaestus. Aphrodite is actually a big fan only because she can tell that Apollo genuinely likes Telemachus. Hera is indifferent about it but I like to imagine that after God Games she’s a slightly better step mom so she’s relatively supportive of Apollo’s prince rizzing endeavors.

The relationship itself is surprisingly highly functional and really normal despite Apollo being a god. For a long time Telemachus makes an internal vow to himself not to fall in love too much because he’s aware that Apollo tends to switch up on how much he loves his lovers sometimes and doesn’t wanna get hurt but after a very long discussion and Apollo swearing he’s serious about this (like Hyacinth levels of serious about this. Bro is LOCKED IN) and after staying up literally all night thinking about it Telemachus decides to seriously give this a chance and stop acting weird and it goes extremely well actually. They hang out daily, usually in like the woods or something or down by the shore where there isn’t anybody around simply because neither of them really wanna deal with other people knowing they’re together. It isn’t because either one is ashamed of the other or anything, just simply wanting privacy and knowing they wouldn’t get that with Telemachus being prince and Apollo being a literal god so people would probably just be staring the whole time.

Apollo also gives Telemachus gifts like crazy. He’ll write him love poems and songs all the time and is always equally as excited to show him every time (Telemachus is always just as excited to hear it because he’s never had anyone love him like this before)

Now the funniest part of this whole thing: the era where Apollo is trying to woo Telemachus. He 100% used serenading but stopped after Odysseus tried to shoot him with an arrow (to be fair it was the 10th time Apollo was outside the palace singing so the attempted shooting was pretty valid. Ody wanted his sleep)

Then Apollo started bugging Athena and tagging along with her whenever she’d visit the royal family (she knew what he was trying to do but there’s no stopping Apollo once he wants to woo somebody. Not for a lack of obvious hating though. Very actively hates on his flirting. Apollo is extremely un-subtle with his flirting too which makes it even funnier because 9/10 Telemachus just runs away because he’s never been flirted with before

Then after the flirting just turns into Telemachus avoiding Apollo at all costs (Telemachus is in his questioning his romantic attraction era during this but ofc Apollo doesn’t know this) Apollo just starts leaving love poems once a week (this goes on for about a month so four poems in total).

Then yk as I said before Telemachus decides to give it a shot blah blah blah gay people real they kiss the end 🥳

So yeah there’s me explaining my crackship. It’s essentially just: “Apollo likes pretty boys and Telemachus is a (very awkward) pretty boy”

omg yes!!! thank you for asking like nobody ever really sends me asks so this is so fun to me!!! also i’m sorry for getting on this train late but i’ve seen the light finally!

(also putting the preview thing bc i went on a long ass tangent, i told y’all if you get me started on this i won’t stfu 😭)

but my mutuals and i have been talking about it and we were saying how katniss is definitely not the kind of person who ever wanted to be a hero. she certainly isn’t a selfish person (her volunteering for prim shows this), but she never intended to be the forefront of a revolution. also katniss is very socially inept and pretty unaware, she thinks everyone hates her or she doesn’t like people but she constantly goes out of her way for people bc she cares! i think these are really similar (in my head at least) to how annie is. annie only became a warrior to help her dad (well he also kinda forced her but anyways), and her intention was always just to get back home to him, so that kinda reminds me of katniss. also annie is perceived as mean and aloof, but she’s just not the most social person and isn’t the best as socializing (i think this is most shown in aot jr high), and kind of misinterprets social situations, very similar to katniss! i think annie is a very caring and kind person but her situations have led her to be closed off and causing her goals to be the forefront of her mind, but towards the end of the series she realizes that people do care for her and starts to be more trusting/open (i.e. armin/mikasa/even reiner a bit) and we see a more lighthearted side of her (the okapi scene LOL)!! i think katniss and annie aren’t exactly the same but i see so many similarities between them, even with the whole aruani interaction too, it reminds me a lot of some of the more vulnerable everlark scenes. also annie is very aggressive and so is katniss, and that whole scene where katniss throws peeta into the wall after the whole “if it weren’t for the baby” shenanigans, that’s annie as hell LOL she wouldn’t want to be perceived as weak or vulnerable, it’s just not her

as for armin, armin is literally the equivalent to peeta to me. armin is actually my favorite character after eremika, so i adore the fact that he’s so similar to my favorite book character. i think armin is one of the most kind characters in the story, and his genuine care and devotion to mikasa and eren make me love him so much, but armin is also definitely a very manipulative person. he knew how to manipulate situations to his advantage in order to achieve whatever it is he wanted, and that’s definitely in line with peeta. peeta put on a performance as much as katniss did, but because he knew how to work the room and use his charms to his advantage. i 100% without any thread of doubt in me know armin is capable of pulling off the baby stint, because he would think of the same scenario, using the capitol’s pity to their advantage. being able to be manipulative stems from your ability to read people and your intelligence, and we can tell that armin is good at both of those (how he got eren to confess his true feelings for mikasa just by fucking around with him lol)!! also cute blond boy, blue eyes that’s so armin!!!! but beyond all the manipulation and working for the cameras, peeta did have a genuine care and he loved katniss his whole life, and armin had always been interested in annie as well and she was a bit naive to it too.

honestly i was never the biggest aruani fan (i like them but they’re not a fav basically) but seeing their everlark parallels made me have a new appreciation for the ship!! i could honestly say more but i just woke up and i can’t think of as many canon references to as i’d like!!! but sorry for going on a whole tangent i just love the hunger games a lot 😭

Oh… my god… I’ve been emotionally devastated by Le Salut 😂

Rambling and spoilers under the cut as usual! Still haven’t done any of the salvation ends though so no worries about those, not sure if I’ll make one post for all of them or reblog my individual posts from each route lmao

Wow this route was CHONKY Jesus! I guess my biggest initial thoughts after playing are:

1) I am boo boo the fool… cannot believe we were betrayed by Dahut like that… the signs were there but I dismissed because he was best (adult) boy and I loved him… to quote my other post: “Any time Dahut shows up now I’m like OH THANK GOD someone who doesn’t need therapy” 🤡 never before have I been so utterly devastated by a character’s betrayal 💀

And 2) Ankou being Adolphe punched me in the gut, stole my purse, and kicked my dog, I was thinking there had to be time travel or multiverse shenanigans but not like that… (I love Ankou but tbh Adolphe is just kinda, meh to me? So I’m conflicted…) Though the real kicker was the fact that HE WAS AMERICAN THIS WHOLE TIME HELL, YEAH USA!! USA!! USA!! 🔫 (LOL sorry jkjk… but no really when he pulled out a fucking gun I busted out laughing, bitch why did you not use this earlier 😂)

But anyways, back to the route itself! I very much loved the character interactions we got with Ceres, Adolphe, and Ankou! Very cute, very wholesome, and Ankou in lounge wear…? *chef’s kiss* 👀 Although this is when I noticed that they both had such shiny blue earrings… maybe in my heart I knew all along… I also still love the friendship between Nadia and Dahut… 😔 and Ankou meeting Yves was so sweet!(even though knowing the truth now makes it… oof in hindsight) but good to know we all support Yves being with Ceres 😂

This route kinda turned me off Salome though? Like yandere tendencies aside, in every other route she was just the loving, maybe a bit overprotective milf (yeah I said it fight me) with a complicated and tragic past… but damn really was not a fan of her actually being the queen and Dahut’s mom. Kinda mad she killed him in the end 😬 (also, my god the teenage pregnancies must be wild in this country)

Also I am SO. SICK. OF CAPUCINE!! PLEASE STOP SHOWING UP AND BEING CREEPY TOWARDS NADIA AND A DICK TO LUCAS!! Him, the Royal family, and honestly the vast majority of the people in Arpechele suck major donkey balls oh my god. Y’know what I kinda support Dahut’s plan to just burn the country to the ground, we stan a short king 👑

… is it bad though that Capucine’s kinda grown on me? LOL, like I still hate his guts (thank you Scien our god for blowing him up) but it’s kinda hilarious watching him when things don’t go his way 😂 idk if I find him a kind of well written villain or if I have Stockholm syndrome after we’ve been forced to see him in every route 💀

Jean on the other hand! I am so happy that my evil hot butler turned into a reluctant ally in this route!! The bit where he and Mathis had to help Scien was very super cute, and poor sweet Mathis you are so forgiving, you deserve so much better, I hope Jean treats you nicer 😔 I respect his one-track mind for Rosalie though, man has a mission to get his wife back and by god he’s not gonna let anything stop him lmao 🫡

Gotta say though, I don’t remember exactly what triggered this but I just remember thinking, “oh more science to ignore!” So, yeah it… did not get better lmao. Like, some hand-wavey science is fine for world building and stuff, but when your plot hinges on the science and details, it’s really gotta have a more solid foundation than this. It’s not even nitpicking, it really doesn’t make sense if you think about it for more than one second 😂

Ngl I kinda wish that they had kept the supernatural aspect (not just because I’m not super keen on Ankou being Adolphe…), it would’ve made the nonsensical science easier to digest so they wouldn’t have been forced to explain everything away. Like, if it’s all grounded in reality, answer me this game! How did Ankou regenerate HIS CLOTHES after being just a HEAD IN A JAR??? 💀 the censoring was also kinda weird… like okay sure it’s all scientific but what, “the world” won’t let Ankou talk about specific things Adolphe doesn’t know yet?? Sure……. 😐

Although, no magic does make Ankou’s “vanishing” kinda hilarious since it meant he really did have to just run and hide behind whatever he could find. Like that’s inching towards JJBA part 3 DIO stopping time and carrying polnareff two steps down the staircase just to fuck with him levels of petty and dramatic LOL, but also have you seen how long and flowy this man’s hair and clothes are, Ceres how did you not notice?? Girl is you dumb??? 😂

Also I find adolphe being 25 while Ceres is 18 a little bit sus, and I’m really not a fan of the “big brother” figure becoming a love interest trope (I know they’re not blood related but still 😬). If Ankou had actually been a supernatural entity that was hundreds of years old, I would’ve been totally fine with that lmao, but him being Adolphe?? Mmmmm… mmmm unfortunately that’s a no from me, damn I’m actually kinda disappointed, just gonna make up something in my head and pretend that fact doesn’t exist 😔

I LOVE that all our boys + Jean(LOL) banded together in this route though!! Seeing them all alive made me so relieved oh my god 😭 wish we got a little bit more Lucas (yes I’m biased) but I get it, he’s too OP lmao, they literally had to nerf him with incurable anime disease before the game even started or else he’d be too much of a threat 💀

OH I FORGOT ABOUT HUGO LMAO, thanks for helping too, bud! I’m so glad you realize how Yvesexual you are in this final route!! 😂

Okay. I think that’s all the word vomit I have… tldr; Dahut is a short king, Salome kinda sucks to me, Ankou still >>> Adolphe (sorry Adolphe fans) and I wish there actually was a supernatural aspect, loved the squad of my boys + Jean helping out!

My personal character rankings now are Lucas > Jean(I know he’s not an LI just let me be delusional💀) > Ankou (took a hit being Adolphe but he’s so pretty it makes up for it) > Yves > Scien = Mathis > Adolphe

I’m still emotionally devastated but I’ll probably do the rest of the despair ends today and then all the salvation ends tomorrow/the day after depending on how long they take… I think I’ll just squeeze them all into one ramble lmao

PGR vs Genshin: Story telling

Ya know what I adore about PGR’s story? It’s how they don’t let the main plot take a backseat and keep it consistent.

(Spoilers for Grand Blue and the first eight ish chapters of PGR update under cut, I will also be comparing it to Genshin Impact’s 1.6 or Golden Apple Archipelago update and Genshin Impact as whole)

The most recent example is the Grand Blue update. Yes, it was fan service, a beach episode and it was more light hearted than say, the previous Kowloong update which was heavy in themes and story. But, it stayed consistent with everything and introduced a character while also wrapping up Kamui’s arc in a way.

It wasn’t just a throw away story, we sense that there’s something up with Lucia and rightfully so after shit hit the fan in Kowloong. And Kowloong is the whole reason we go on this vacation in the first place. Good, great set up, we have a reason, hooray.

Grand Blue introduces us to Camu, Kamui’s… uh… technically Kamui is Camu’s alter Ego and that’s the interesting thing. I will talk about it later since I’m here to talk about how PGR does it’s story well and the way it introduces it’s characters plays a huge part in it.

Anyways, Camu appears, and so do the Ascendants and suddenly, our summer vacation kinda goes sideways. Typical beach episode stuff. But it isn’t your typical beach episode, because it debuts Camu, a new character for the story as well as a new type of construct, a transcendant as global calls it. It’s smart, you introduce your character this way while also introducing a new game mechanic. Good shit.

As for story, Grand Blue also speaks a bit more on lore heavy things. It shines light on the Golden Age and what happened before the main events of the story. Punishing Gray Raven isn’t too lore heavy, it’s plot doesn’t depend heavily on it‘s lore if at all, but it’s still interesting.

Overall, Grand Blue establishes a new character, completes a character arc that was sort of left hanging, and introduces a new mechanic. Real shit. Now, let’s talk about Genshin, mainly where I think Genshin’s story telling fails at times.

The Golden Apple Archipelago was fun, don’t get me wrong, but it was one of several filler updates. With Inazuma being released after a year, it’s safe to assume the other nations will follow with this one Nation a year thing.

1.6 did two things: set up Inazuma before it’s release, and gave us our beach episode. It’s a nice update. We get our first Inazuma character with an interesting story that sets up Inazuma, and we get a cute, light hearted story featuring our favourite arson child Klee With an underlying theme about family. It’s sweet and it‘s honestly one of my favourite updates (also because it gave me a fully refined weapon for Yanfei uwu)

That was just a comparison between the two beach episodes. Grand Blue it still relevant enough to the main story, and the Golden Apple Archipelago honestly didn‘t need to happen because it isn’t exactly relevant to the main plot but it was still good. No, my problem lies in the setting up Inazuma part of 1.6

1.6 introduces us to Kaedehara Kazuha, a wandering ronin from Inazuma who has ended up as a temporary (ish, we don’t know what happened to him post Inazuma like if he went back or if he’s still with the Crux) part of Beidou’s Crux fleet. With him, we get a basic picture of Inazuma, the Raiden Shogun has gone as far as to seize all visions in Inazuma because she sees them as threats to her Eternity. It’s interesting. Now, I would drag the Inazuma arc by the neck across the ground, but all you need to know, is that I have problems with it, the biggest of which could be solved if one simple thing didn’t exist:

1.4s We will be Reunited quest

I love Dainsleif. He’s super interesting, I love his character and his role in the story is very interesting. He is also made of 100% simpable material. But BOY this quest did NOTHING for Genshin’s story.

We, the player know that your sibling is in charge of the Abyss Order and that they orchestrated the prologue in Mondstadt with the whole Dvalin fiasco. We also know that our sibling is fully aware we are on Teyvat and that we are fighting against their forces.

So we have all that. It would be interesting is our player character, the traveler, was blissfully unaware of this and it would remain that way until Snezhnaya or even Khaenri’ah, we would just get hints about it throughout the story.

BUT NO

They handed the traveler the answer on a silver fucking platter, and then acted like it never fucking happened!

We know our sibling is with the Abyss so why go to Inazuma at all!? “Search this entire continent for my sibling by asking the god of each nation to progress the plot and provide an excuse for continuous updates and more characters” is already flimsy but Genshin covered for it up until this point with an engaging world and characters. The main story was good and our side adventures with the characters were also great.

Traveler doesn’t need to go to Inazuma, much less get wrapped up in it’s politics and serve as a device for terribly written characters (I love the Inazuma characters but the way they’re integrated into the plot and have their character arcs defined by the traveler is ass)

By all means, we shouldn’t even be asking around for our sister at this point. Our goal now should be finding out what happened to Khaenri’ah five hundred years ago, and how that fucked everything up for us and our sibling!

Another point I have to bring up is how dependant everybody is on traveler from Inazuma going forward. For their own character arcs and for just shit in general. Ayaka, you did not need our help to rebel against the Shougunate. Why the hell does Shenhe’s story feel like a love story where we help her settle into society and find her emotions or whatever. She can do that herself why do we need to go with her and pry into the backstory of a person we just met???

Like none of the constructs really revolve around commandant (MC payer character) Only Lucia does and we’re given a reason for it, we’re the first person she meets upon her reconstruction and she’s hinted at to be our main love interest. Even then, it‘s done well.

It’s pure coincidence that we meet Shenhe, we don’t have a reason to pry into her past, we don’t really have a relationship with her. If anything, Chongyun, ya know, her NEPHEW would have been more suited to help her in her story arc. Traveler could have just introduced the two or tagged along because we know Chongyun and we want to help. But of course, god forbid Mihoyo feature a MALE CHARACTER who isn’t an archon/has something to do with Khaenri’ah as the focus of a story that isn’t their specific character side story or hangout event.

More than that, commandant has a reason for all of the stuff they do. They‘re a commanding officer, there’s a war, and they have to fight it. It just so happens they get a lot more than said war and often get into more dangerous situations due to them being extremely good at their job. Traveler had a reason up until 1.4, they found out what their sibling is up to but decides to still get involved with every single nation.

I think Genshin is looking up, like it’s recovering from the shit show that was Inazuma and I hope that Sumeru has better writing and integrates the characters into the story better. It seems like it will, Shenhe arc aside I do love that we revisited the Jade Chamber and of course, Lantern Rite is my favourite time of year and while the story quest isn’t the most lore intense epic thing, it’s still a blast to see all of the Liyue characters returning.

I just hope that PGR gets the recognition it deserves after it’s global launch was overshadowed by Inazuma and Genshin’s one year anniversary. It’s pretty big in east Asia, mainly China, and it’s community is extremely talented.

Anyways, this has been my messy thoughts on Genshin and PGR so far. Uh, yeah. Hope you enjoyed this shit show.

I ADORE Max Brinly just because he’s so sweet and kinda goofy, but in a cute “I wanna be your knight in shining armor but I’m more of a puppy” kind of way.

I absolutely LOATHE Abigail Blyg—she reminds me too much of myself sometimes, but her naivety and her just general demeanor the majority of the game makes me want to punt her across a room. I’m not exactly sure why I feel that way so bad, because I can tolerate and sometimes like her when she’s around Emma, but without Emma she annoys tf outta me.

Favourite chapter and least favourite chapter. Why?:

I gotta say my favorite chapter is prolly Chapter 5: White Noise—I just love the growing climax with the tension of Nick’s impending transformation and the cute scenes between Dylan and Ryan. I will never NOT drool over those two, I swear.

My least favorite chapter, however, has to be chapter 10: Bricks & Mortar/The Final Girl—I love max so very much and the fact the he got barely a five minute segment to be played out of the whole game is both incredibly frustrating and completely unfair. I dislike this chapter simply because I feel Max should’ve been given more gameplay time and had a better storyline in his end, since it was almost like he was completely disconnected from the actual story we get to play through.

That’s a tough question. I personally believe I’d have the same level of resilience as Dylan does with his infection and be able to fight it off most of the night. Due to this, I’d gladly allow myself to become infected towards the beginning and I’d use it to my advantage to protect the rest. If it came down to a point where I would put them in danger or I was likely to turn, I’d head for the food cabins from the first segment of the game(where Emma and Jacob raided the cabin for alcohol, watermelons and a shotgun—yes, I remembered the cages in it) and have myself locked in a cage, informing those I was with beforehand of where I was going and why so they could free me in the morning.

My favorite writer prolly has to be @drylan because their headcanons and ficlets are absolutely TO DIE FOR. YUP. nick gets jealous so easy yup yup yup. jealousy, protectiveness, possessiveness, you name it. you two would often get in fights about this, but most of the time you would just think it’s cute how riled up he gets. he doesn’t get mad at you (because you’re his precious little baby and can do no wrong in his eyes :D) but god help the souls of whoever tries to flirt with you, because they’ve got a hell of a storm coming.

god nick’s such a passionate kisser. or at least he can be lol. he loves the way your face fits into his hands, and how soft your lips are. so he definitely is a fan of just some wholesome passionate kisses. but damn this man gets sloppy when he wants to. his lips constantly trails off to your jaw, neck and collar bones.

there are certain moments where nick just sits back, watches, and realizes how amazing his life is. and how grateful he is to have you. for example, you were playing minecraft on his pc, and your house kept getting blown up by creepers, he found it adorable how mad you got every time. he just watched you play, while sitting on his bed. after a while, you looked over at him, and caught him staring. “what?” you asked after letting out a soft chuckle. he felt like he was gonna explode from how much he loved you.

i’m getting very strong “baby” and “doll” vibes from nick. he loves baby-ing you and smothering you with other loving nicknames. just any petnames that show how much he loves you he’s all for. he would also love calling you “pretty” or “beautiful” for obvious reasons.

nick HATES fighting with you, but once you two get into an argument he can get pretty carried away. he’s definitely the type to let his emotions get the upper hand on him. raising his voice a lot, stuff like that. but the second you leave to get some space he just breaks down. sliding down the wall and resting his face in his hands, just letting all the emotions out. he never meant to hurt you. when you came back to him, ready to be enclosed in his arms again, he had a hard time letting you back in. he just felt like he didn’t deserve you after he treated you like this. it took some convincing, but once you broke down his walls again, it was like he gave you all the love in his body. just smothering you with “i’m sorry”s and kisses.

he loves holding your hand. especially in public. if you’re in a crowded space, he just holds onto you very tightly as not to lose you. or if you two are just going on a walk together, his hands would just feel so warm and soft around yours. and omg he loves it when his hands are in his pockets, and you put your hands in there with him, and intertwine your fingers with his. hmmm he gets so soft when you do that.

R=Romantic (How romantic are they?)

i- uh- I MEAN HE WOULD TRY he really would, and again, that’s all that matters. I feel like he would be the type to try to prepare a whole surprise dinner, he would cook all the food himself, he would set the table all cute, with candles and shit, but just completely ruin the surprise by accidentally giving it all away by saying something or just behaving very obviously suspicious. 

S=Sad (What are they like when they’re sad?)

he just gets really quiet. he would never want to bother you or be a pain in the ass by complaining to you. but obviously you notice when something is wrong with ur bby boy. a sentence like “are you okay?” or “what’s wrong?” would immediately send him over the edge, burying his face in your chest, trying his best to supress his sobs. but he eventually calms down, and once he does, he’s able to just rant to you about whatever is bothering him.

T=Together (What are they like when you’re together?)

i feel like it would really depend on his mood, like he could be either SUPER chill, just wanting to savour the time you two had together. or he could be really hyper, constantly talking, wanting to do all kinds of activities with you. he’d be the literal definition of :D

very. i just get such empathetic vibes from him. he’s such a good listener and he’ll just listen to you talk whenever you have something to be upset about. he never invalidates your feelings and omg he’d give the best advice. 

V=Value (What do they value most about the relationship?)

he loves that he can 100% be his self around you. there’s no part of his personality that he feels like he has to hide, or tone down, whenever he’s with you. you also aspire him to be his best self, he just wants to be the best boyfriend in the world. all his friends have noticed this too, you bring out the best in him.

eh. if you’re a person who really values marriage, he’d 100% do it for you. but it’s not like he HAS to. he gets a bit scared by the idea of this whole big event, where everything is about you two, he would way rather celebrate the love you two have in the comfort of your own home, just the two of you. the one thing he would love about a wedding, would be seeing you all dolled up, walking down the aisle, omg he’d be the proudest man ever to be able to call you his.

the SECOND you start to feel sad or depressed in any way, nick notices immediately. he knows you better than anybody else, and he knows exactly what to do to cheer you up. it’s like his superpower. if you’re feeling anxious he’ll just wrap his arms around you really tightly, holding on to you until you calm down. and when you’re sad, and in need for something to cheer you up, he’ll take you outside for a walk in the park, or he’ll just sit in bed with you, watching your favourite show. 

Y=Yuck (What they would never want in a partner)

he hates when you flirt with his friend, even when you’re very obviously joking. his jealous ass can’t deal with that lmao. he also gets super pissed when his friends make flirtatious jokes towards you, they know how much it gets on his nerves and that’s really the only reason they do it. but omg he gets so pissed when it happens. 

Zzz (How do they sleep around you?)

nick would be the cutest sleeper ever omg. he doesn’t like to admit it, but he loves being little spoon. he loves resting his head on your chest, while you play with his hair, patiently waiting for him to fall asleep.

Speaking of romance, whats your preferred ships in each mainline zelda game post OOT?

I’m glad you specified post-OoT, as otherwise I’d have to wrap my head around there actually being a choice between Zelda and Impa in the original NES LoZ. And Impa doesn’t even appear in the actual game.

Oracles: Maple the witch. Obviously. Even the manga realized she was worthy of a beefed-up role.

Wind Waker: I have to go with Tetra/Zelda. Medli felt more like a buddy, aside from being a bird girl. (What can I say? I'm biased in favor of humans.) It helps that Tetra is one of the best characters, never mind version of Zelda, in the franchise.

Twilight Princess: I think there's something neat about Ashei and her legacy of being a knight that works better for this Link than the typical Village Girl thing with Ilia. I like the little extra interactions the manga gives their time together.

Skyward Sword: Zelda, I guess. The only other option I can think of Fi, and she's a robot. I never got very far in this game.

Hyrule Warriors: I dunno, should we give Lana and/or Cia a chance here? Linkle is easily what the weeaboos call Best Girl, but I honestly think she's too good for Link.

Ah, the pain of being a Link x Ruto shipper :D we are a lonely lot(You Malon fans don't know how good you have it)

In all seriousness, that's basically how I imagined it as well. That if Zelda should have romance, "The courtship" should probably be in the style of the sidequests of Majora's mask, moreso than fire emblem, and at the end, there should definitely be a cool reward for each path. Hell if you wanted to build on what already exists, each romance route could have had an optional dungeon associated with it, like have the gerudo fortress one be a dungeon related to Nabooru's storyline, then add in more such equivalent dungeons, and with a cool reward at the end of each, along with the ending of said questline.

I also really like the way you described each of the girls as having a moment of "something something" that could have lead to something more. That’s basically how I have always thought of how Zelda handles Romance with Link, and frankly, i’m not a fan.

About the only time where i got a sense that there was more than something-something, that was genuinely on a deeper layer was Link and Midna from Twilight princess, but that game's ending pretty much much put a kebash on that. (Though I suppose if the next game finally explores the twilight realm again, Nintendo might throw us a bone with Midna's descendants all having blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. There was a period of time between ganondorfs death and midna leaving, where something could have happened.)

But in regards to romances in Zelda, my biggest problem with it, ironically enough, is Zelda herself. Because i find pretty much every single other girl the franchise has ever produced to be infinitely more interesting than her when she appears.

She's generally just a... Okay character. Which is annoying, when she's basically the default implied love interest, and I almost never get the sense that she and link have any chemistry or dynamic at all(even less so than most of the other girls introduced). Pretty much the only time where that wasn't the case, and i really liked her was in Wind Waker, but that's about it.

I didn't find her tsundere shtick in Breath endearing. Skyward sword Zelda was... Well it was Skyward sword, no one from that game is interesting. In Ocarina she was cute, but that was about it. Twilight Zelda was... There. Very regal and queen like but not exactly that interesting. In Minish Cap she has what could have been an interesting character... Only to get turned to stone 20 minutes in. And because i hated hourglass, i didn’t buy spirit tracks, so i cant comment on how she is in that game.

As for introducing a full blown romance mechanic into the franchise, i kinda wish they would, because i’m sick of them introducing implied love interests after implied love interests, only for it to never ever go anywhere.

Lets see not counting Zelda in her various incarnations, from Ocarina there is Saria, Malon, Ruto, Nabooru, Impa and maybe Navi. In majora's mask there is the romani sisters. Wind waker had Medli, the GBC color games had Din, and would probably also had Faroe if the third game had been made, twilight princess had Illa, Midna, Ashei and Hena, and Breath of the wild had Mipha (though she's dead) and best girl Paya.

Like... If you're going to introduce all these love interest, at least have the decency to utilize them. I think the reason Midna x Link resonated so strongly despite links kinda barebones characterization, is that for once, despite how it ended, it kinda felt like Nintendo was actually doing something with one of these love interests, and clearly a lot of fans were on board with that.

As for Fire emblem... I unfortunately kinda have to agree. I think there are definitly great romances that can add a lot to the games(Robin x Chrom by far being the best example of that), but for the most part i can take em or leave em.

I think this gets to a bigger problem with the storytelling in the Zelda franchise, that so much is kept vague in the service of allowing players to project into the role of Link, despite the implementation really not having progressed much since they let us name our save files in the original NES game. If they pushed a certain love interest or gave Link real dialogue, that would supposedly break the immersion. And yet I’ve never been more immersed in Link than I am in Mario or Megaman or any other character.

But yes, as mentioned in my shipping list above, Zelda is a very generic character outside of Tetra. That makes sense, as the original NES game made Link and Zelda and Ganon (...and Impa) pure archetypes with nothing unique about them. Zelda has continued to simply be The Princess In Need Of Rescuing, even when we don’t actually have to rescue her. They’ve tried to make her a stronger character at various points, but the confines of tradition have very much limited what they can actually accomplish on that front. Tetra is the exception that proves the rule, as she got to break free of the Princess role (for the first half of the game, at least, and then she loses her personality and becomes boring), but Wind Waker was probably the most innovative of the post-OoT games until Breath, and that got slapped down relatively hard by audiences, to the point where Twilight Princess retreated to the familiar. I doubt we’ll see the likes of Tetra ever again, but Breath did break down a lot of the OoT formula to great reception, so perhaps there’s room for hope of a truly different and interesting Zelda again. I personally love most of the ideas I’ve seen amongst the fandom for a Zelda-focused game, but I doubt Nintendo would go that far in a main-series entry.

Also, just a bit more of trivia regarding Ocarina of time, Nabooru actually has an in-game but unused bit of animation where she's sitting and playing a flute, as well as her being located in the Gerudo fortress at some point in the game (Probably after you beat the dungeon).

So presumably early in development (Before they cut the romance aspect of the game) they were probably gonna have you interact more with Nabooru as an adult, and given the flute, it would probably have been her teaching you the song to get to the spirit temple.

Kinda makes one wonder if that was gonna be how it was for most of the temples and sages, only to be cut, and the sages more active role in the story were effectively replaced by sheik to simplify it all.

Well, that’s interesting. I’m skeptical, though, they got as far as development of assets and character placement in dungeons before deciding on the importance of Sheik. Usually, stuff like that are signs of mechanics or features that proved to ambitious for the timeframe or capabilities. Perhaps Nabooru was originally supposed to be a partner in certain parts of the dungeon, either under player control or just scripted. I really doubt the Romancables angle survived up to the point of dungeon design, and probably didn’t make it past the early character design phase.

Hey, maybe she was part of the true quest to find the Triforce and unlock a completely different ending. I’m sure the players will finally figure that one of these days. ;)

Nishinoya Yuu:

one of the most energetic and happiest boyfriends!!

Will literally love and cherish you until you die and probably even after that, I’m being serious his love and affection for you have no end

though in the beginning of your relationship, or even before it, he always gets very shy around you which is unusual for him. That’s how he knows you’re special to him, because you make him doscover a whole new side of him!

The secret admirer type of crush, everyday you’ll find a new small present waiting on your desk. Your favorite drink, a snack, a small cute note, a new pen when he noticed your old one didn’t work anymore, a small bunch of flowers... It’s just so cute!

But it takes forever until he actually asks you out. In reality, it happens a lot different than he imagined. Normally he made sure he was in school waaayyy before you, but that one day he overslept and was in class just a few minutes before you. or so he thought. You just walked in the moment he placed the small package of milk on your desk and you both just stare at each other for several minutes and he’s about to faint until Tanaka saves him and gets him out of class because “he might develop a fever, his face is all red and sweaty”

2 days or so you don’t hear anything from him, until he manages to get over himself and ask you out in the tiniest voice. He has to repeat himself several times until you understand him properly because the poor boy was so nervous he spoke too fast and too quietly

Always wants you to be on his side, like at practice and such. You can be guaranteed to be found at every single game that Karasuno ever has again, even practice games. You’re always there cheering for him and he’s at his 150% every time! The team loves his energy on the field but it’s a biot exhausting everywhere else :’)

ANWAYS definitely a lot of activity dates! I’m not saying that he would say no to a good old cuddle session, but he’s just always bouncing around, so going to the arcade or comign up with fun games at the park is normally what you do after school and practice!

Tanaka is the accepted third-wheel of your relationship. Whenever your over sat Noya’s he ends up showing up, too a lot of times or he joins in on fun dates, but it’s never uncomfortable or weird. You two actually become really good buddies and he always tells you funny stories about Noya! Also him and Kiyoko and you two go on double dates and it’s!! So cute!!

Did I mention that Noya is the king of skinship and PDA?? He really couldn’t care less who’s around you or who might be watching, his eyes are always on you and his hand somehow magically finds his way to your ass lol

No but on a serious note he just can’t live without you and sometimes he can get really anxious if he doesn’t find you in a crowd or your hands don’t intertwine immediately when he reaches for you. He can’t explain it, it just doesn’t feel good about it when you’re not around him.

When I tell you he did NOT know what he was doing when he asked you out. Just listened to Akaashi’s and Kuroo’s advice and it somehow worked out for him. Several months into the relationship he’s still not entirely sure how he got you, but he doesn’t complain

(psssht, it was his clumsy charm mixed with some kind of natural charisma that got you, but don’t tell him that he will not shut up about it)

When he first saw you he was at practice and he couldn’t help but stare because how can a real human being be so pretty?? and he actually missed a ball, got it slammed to his head and well what can I say? You almost got him passed out the first time he saw you

He got soooo embarrassed afterwards help the poor boy. The brightest blush ever appeared on his cheeks and ears and his hair immediately went emo mode straight down hanging into his face

The whole situation was so chaotic and messy you couldn’t help but turn around and look for the source of all this trouble, just to find the silver-haired boy staring right at you and hitting you someplace special in your chest, literally taking you aback

Afterwards the coach scolds him for being inattentive and you leave the gym in a hurry, because you as well are embarrassed. But it doesn’t take long until Akaashi gets send to get your number and you can’t help but giggle as he tells you about how Bokuto literally won’t stop whining about you being the prettiest human being on earth

That’s how you started texting and bokuto might just be one of the most random texters (is that even a word??) ever. Like yeah, in the beginning he’ll mainly talk about volleyball and send you sweaty pics of him (no, not these ones!) but then again you’ll get a text at 3am on a thursday and it will be like a really bad picture taken of the moon and it will say like “thought about you” and in the next message 3 seconds later he’ll talk about wanting to be a werewolf or so. And you have to laugh so hard you can’t even be mad at him for waking you up

And that’s basically how you’re relationship works, too. A lot of random texts, especially “come over?” ones or “watch me at practice! please???” and you can’t ever get yourself to say no to him, because he’s always so happy when you show up!

Ngl it kinda distracts him too, but he’s in ace mode when you watch him because he feels the need to impress you even when you tell him there’s no need for him to because you’re already impressed by him

Loves hugs! Hugs after a victory or a defeat, hugs after school and practice and hugs as greetings and goodbyes... Just hugs, so he can entirely engulf you in his big and strong arms and you basically vanish somewhere between his arms. Loves pressing you close in the whole process of it, so close that you can barely breathe for a second, but you actually love it because it just shows his love and affection

9/10 times you’re also the cure to his emo mode. Just very rarely even you can’t help him and it’s upon himself to get over it, but with your presence near him and the opportunity to cuddle onto you while reflecting about himself, he’ll get over it eventually

He’s also the biggest cuddler there could possibly be. most of your dates are stay-inside ones because most of the times he’s exhausted from practice and games, so a chill night in with a good movie or series and some nice snacks really do it for him. He can just cuddle onto you however he likes and he especially likes brushing his fingers over your warm, soft skin. It makes him feel very at ease.

Oikawa Tooru:

People might think he’d be very blunt and cocky and all when he has a crush, but I’m telling you - he’s actually the softest boy ever and prefers to keep his distance at fir4st to observe and understand his feelings for you

So what I’m saying is: As soon as he realizes what exactly his feelings are for you, he gets a bit shy and distant but blushes whenever he sees you

At first he thought you were just one of his obsessed fans and he didn’t think much of it, but then his gaze always wandered over to you, no matter if it was during a game or a practice or at school or when he saw you somewhere else... It was like you were haunting him, in like the best possible way, as he soon realized

It takes him forever to get himself to talk to you, because he wants everything to be perfect. He chooses to approach you in school when he found you alone that one day, but oh well, it totally didn’t go as planned. His glasses fell off his nose when he was trying to be smooth, he hopelessly stumbles across his words and his face got so red you thought you were talking to a tomato. Still, it kinda did something to you. You found it endearing, really. So you could just smile and nod when he asked you to got out with him and the biggest sigh of relief ever™ leaves his lips

He’s still hecka nervous for your first date, asks all his friends and team mates about their opinion on what he should wear and do, where should he take you etc... It takes him so long to decide that you just take it in hand and suggest something and he just rolls with it and turns out to be one of his favorite dates ever. A day at the park, though halfway through it got messy because it started raining and neither of you were prepared, so you had to run and share his jacket to go someplace dry and you end up in a library and neither of you can hold in the giggles when the librarians tell you to “tone it down.” It’s also your first kiss between seemingly endless rows of old books and your hearts flutter like crazy afterwards and you’re just speechless because... OIKAWA IS A GREAT KISSER idc what any of y’all think

so it just becomes a regular thing for him to pull you aside in the gym hall or school halls or whatever and kiss you senseless for his entertainment because your reaction is always 10/10

He may act smooth around others, presenting himself as the cool confident boyfriend, but really... He’s just the softest boy for you and a hopeless romantic on top.

Play with his hair and he will never leave your side ever again. The cutest pink hue will spread on his cheeks the first time you do it and with time you learn more about his soft spots, like brushing your lips or fingertips over his neck or the ticklish feeling he gets when you touch his waist.

Loves to pick out movies and series for you to watch. Most of them are alien or conspiracy theory-themes but you don’t mind, Oikawa is happiest when he can connect several things he loves, like you and aliens, or you and volleyball.

You’re also gonna have to accept the fact that he spends a lot of time on volleyball and that he will come home late and not always have time for you on the weekends. He will, however, especially love it when you work your way through his schedules to meet him, like when you come to watch and support him at practice. He will take extra breaks to pull you close and calm himself down in your arms.

Iwaizumi will definitely become one of your closest friends and you’ll both spend time shit talking about Tooru (ofc in a loving way) and Oikawa can’t help but smile seeing as you get close to his best friend~

He’s not exactly the most jealous type of boyfriend. He does trust you a lot and just makes sure that everybody always knows he’s your boyfriend. Trusts you with handling certain situations, though he will keep an eagle eye on strange boys and men near you and won’t lose no time chiming in when he feels like it to safe you

Of course there’s a big decrease in the numbers of his fangirls after everyone finds out you two are official, but Oikawa actually prefers it this way. As long as you are cheering for him, nothing will be able to stop him.

The bestest and softest boyfriend, not to be dramatic but I’d die for him

Miya Atsumu:

Okay now this one is actually smooth. Or so he thinks.

He’s quite obvious about his crush and feelings for you, so like he won’t hide it and use every possible opportunity to talk to you and flirt with you. And when I say flirt I mean he will use every bad pickup line you have ever heard somewhere

At first you’re really really turned off by it, but you do give him credits for being so determined and never giving up. He even takes advice from all his team mates and even though Osamu and Suna are very annoyed by his behaviour, they help because they think it will get better once you two are dating.

So every once in a while he will bring you some self-made delicious food along with a smooth line and one day he catches you off guard so hard you choke on some rice and then blush so hard you run out and you just leave poor Tsumu standing there wondering??? Are you okay? Did he just make you blush?

The next day he comes apologizing with the biggest bouquet of flowers right in front of everybody in your class and you get soooo embarrassed and the way he’s standing there is lowkey just adorable so you have no choice but to say yes. You almost catch him blushing right there, as well, because he really didn’t expect you to say that right then and there

Now when I tell you, he’s the most likely out of these 4 to ditch volleyball practice to sdpernd time with you. Most of the time it isn’t even intended, he just forgets time until he either gets a text from his brother or Suna or Kita OR you realize how late it is being like “Tsumus shouldn’t you be at practice since like 2 hours?” “Oh really? Guess not today. Now come here.”

He gets very used to having you close to him, just like Bokuto, so he will start whining when you can’t make it to a game or you’re busy with school work. Will definitely also make surprise visits at your house, like he’ll just randomly appear in front of your window at 3 am?? Are you spiderman??

Not to be angsty on this fluff post but uuhh fights with him can get very bad because he’s a stubborn child and sometimes you’ll catch him not talking to you 3 days after an argument because he needs time to cool down and reflect. He’s in the wrong 4 out of 5 times and he knows, but just give him time and he’ll be fine again. Shows up with the biggest face of regrets and food he threatened his brother to make and he’ll just blob down into your arms mumbling apologies over and over again. Cute.

Jealousy over 3000. Grows red with anger and balls his hands into the fist the moment some guy makes his way to you. Is on your side in 1 second will make no effort to hide his distrust towards the other guy. Sometimes he’ll get a bit too protective and you just have to tell him that and he’ll let you do your thing, though his gaze will never leave you just to make sure

Biggest show off. Will pull you close or hold your hand in public, grinning like and idiot and constantly placing kisses on your knuckles because you’re his baby and he loves you

Also he gets very pouty and whiny when tired after a long day at school with practice or after exhausting games! Will constantly place his head on top of yours, saying it’s “too heavy” and he literally just covers your body with his.

A lot of your dates involve either volleyball or playing video games (sometimes Osamu or Suna join) and it’s most of the times just really chill. Cause I need the Spirit simps to return to my blog and cause Spirit is my main source of serotonin!!! How intense would it get? - Spirit is VERY intense affection wise, and is almost always holding onto you in one way or another. Whether that be laying his head on your chest and purring quietly, or by insisting that your hand stays connected with his while outside, he's always making sure he has a good handle on you. He's also very protective and caring, so expect to be feeling a lot safer in the future. And I mean a LOT safer. Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling? - Spirit was never a big fan of wasting his time on the filth that keeps the two of you apart, so he likes to keep rival elimination quick and painless. However, if he feels that whoever he's killing isn't worthy of a quick death, he will most definitely accommodate to that fact. Or, if you ask him to kill someone and specifically request for it to be long and messy, he'd do it without a shread of hesitation. After all, he'd do anything to prove his loyalty to you. Though, he couldn't directly show that considering he wouldn't ever get let out then. He'd just keep tabs on all your devices through the shadows. P.S., it was very kind of you to make a ROM of his game for your laptop for him to move into! It made things so much easier for him! The feeling of betrayal from you doing something as selfish as trying to leave him, the pain could almost eat him alive. How could you? He's done everything for you, he's given you every inch of love and affection that he has to offer, and you repay him by trying to leave him all alone? Expect the biggest guilt trip you've ever experienced. "I thought you loved me, dearest! Why would you try and leave me?!" Along with millions of demands to know who you were running away to. There had to be some place for you to go when you left him after all, so whose throat does he have to slit just to prove to you how much he adores you? Go on, don't be shy, tell him! Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape? - The hunting you down aspect of all of this? Yeah, I guess he could consider it a game. But the thing is, he never really considers what he's doing Hunting you down unless you're directly trying to run from him. So, at that point, hunting you down is exactly what he's doing. Spirit considers everything he's doing to be completely understandable and normal for human relationships. So he definitely doesn't consider what he's doing to be a "game" or anything else similar. His love for you isn't just some game, it's serious and it's all he has Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them? - If you ever dare cheat on him, expect to see the last thread of sanity he has in him just snap right before your eyes. He can't have anyone walking in on private property thinking it's their own, can he? Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling? - He's usually extremely understanding and sweet. Spirit doesn't like having to use fear tactics to get his way, since he hates it when he has to resort to putting fear in you. Around you, Spirit is more loving than he ever was around anyone before. You're his precious darling after all! You saved him, you taught him what love was like. How could he not act painfully loving and sweet in your presence? You know how protective and jealous he can be, but he completely hides the fact he's literally committed murder. He doesn't want you to think of him as some heartless monster, now does he? That wouldn't do at all. He needs you to adore him, just as much as he adores you. He wants you to be fully willing to marry him, and live out the rest of eternity with him. How could that happen if the very thought of him scares you? Naughty: How would they punish their darling? - The usual, causing you physical pain. His methods of doing this vary, along with the severity of the pain. But, lucky for you it takes a lot to get him to the point to where he sees punishment as the only way. Additionally, if you allow him too, he could get a little...lewder with the punishments... Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling? - Not many, if everything goes by his plan. However, if you refuse to do what he says, he'll take away as many rights as he can. Physical freedom, friends, family, and everything else in between. If he feels something is keeping you from him, he'll snatch it away in a millisecond. You don't need it. However, if everything goes to plan, then great! He's so happy you realize that your future is with him, and only him! Patience: How patient are they with their darling? - Oh, he's extremely patient! That is, unless you do something to upset him. Don't show too much fear, don't yell or scream at him, don't deliberately make him jealous, or do anything similar, and everything will be okay! He understands why you might be a little reluctant, as you've probably never had someone as loving and adoring as him in your life! So much affection being given to you is something you need to get used to, he would know. It took him a little bit to fully adjust to all the love you had for him. Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on? - No. He wouldn't. Not in the slightest. He'd never be able to move on if you were to leave him forever. If you die, he could just chase you down to wherever you ended up considering he was a demon himself. But, if you somehow find a way to get away from him even after he chases you down? He'll be devastated. He thought you loved him, he loved you so much. He still does love you. He can't let you go, he just can't. He needs you. He lives for you. He craves you. You're his light, his everything, he can't imagine an existence without you by his side. But, that won't even happen, he won't let you go no matter what. You won't be able to loosen yourself from his grip. Not that you want to though, right? (Extra fact: Spirit wouldn't hesitate to resort to killing you himself, just so he could drag you down to Hell and keep you there forever. But Spirit will do whatever it takes to have your love) Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go? - Spirit has a very warped view of love, so while he is capable of feeling guilt, he doesn't at all regret what he's done. He feels guilt for the way you cried when he tried snuggling you and holding you, he felt guilt for the way you trembled as he reached out to you, but he just couldn't feel bad for the people he damned and murdered. They were trying to take you away from him, and that's absolutely unforgivable. Stigma:

What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)? - Definitely his time in the Hating Simulator. He was completely ripped away from all contact with the outside world and everyone that inhabited it, human or not. He stayed like that for years, until his captors daughter finally decided to dispose of him. Then, somehow, he met you. You decided to pick his game and it's console up, and take him home. He didn't trust you at first, but soon, watching you talk to Senpai and get closer with him, he fell in love with you. Hard. He needed you in his life, he needed to keep you. He had to have you. You needed to be his, and his alone. Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves? - Confused, but still upset and guilty. He hates seeing you in pain, whether that pain be physical or mental. So to hear you scream and cry with such pain, it absolutely makes his heart shatter. But he just doesn't understand why you're acting in such agony...aren't you happy? Don't you love him? He'll probably look at you with a pained look in his eyes. He'll try and hold you in his arms and hold you close to his chest, no matter how hard you struggle. Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere? - Literally chasing you down to wherever you go, with no effort at all. He makes it so you CAN'T escape him, no matter how hard you try, and no matter who you cry to for help. With any other Yandere, there's always the possibility of escape. Whether it be by leaving their basement, killing them in self defense, getting them arrested, etc, etc. But with Spirit, there's nothing you can do. You're going to love him, or he'll make your life a living hell. Quite literally, in fact. Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape? - While there is literally no way to escape him, you can try and manipulate him to get whatever you wish. Spirit is extremely touch starved, to the point where he'll probably tremble and shake with pleasure if you do as much as reach out to him. Just hold him in your lap and let him purr into your neck as you run your finger through his hair, he'll be literal putty in your hands. While trying to use this against him to escape will result in harsh punishment, if you can think of anything you can get out of him using this then by all means go for it. Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling? - Only if needed. Spirit doesn't wish to cause you pain, but he won't hesitate to if he thinks it will make you love him and stop that hopeless struggling of yours. Spirit will make sure to cuddle you and kiss you after each punishment however, praising you in a soft whisper about how good you've been for him while he taught you a lesson. Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over? - If you want to know how much you mean to him, Spirit will without hesitation get on one knee and kiss the tips of your hand as he purrs words of pure love. He'll make sure you know just how loved and important you are to him by the end of the night, any way you wish for him to, no matter how direct or "explicit" Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap? - After escaping the Hating Simulator, maybe about a year Zenith: Would they ever break their darling? - If you were to "break" under his care, rest assured it was completely unintentionally. But, he'll still take your submission as a win. You're willing to tell you love him, you're willing to marry him and live a life with him, and that's all Spirit needs. He loves you so much ♡

“Cappuccino with 2 sugars for ... Mat?” the barista said from her spot behind the counter and your heart stopped for a second because you knew someone named Mat whose usual order was that. He happened to be your ex boyfriend.

This happened a lot of times, way more than you’d like to admit. Whenever you heard someone say his name or saw a tall brunette on the street that looked just like him. This time, just like all the others, you pushed the thought away because there were probably thousands of Mats and tall brunettes in New York, and even if it was him you wouldn’t know what to say. So you went back to your phone as you took another sip from your cup, trying to distract yourself.

“Here.” he answered, making you almost choke on your drink. You’d recognize that voice anywhere and your suspicions were confirmed once you looked up to find Mat thanking the barista as he took the coffee from her hands.

Mat on the other hand knew exactly what he was doing. He knew your workplace was only a couple blocks away, he knew you’d sometimes like to take a break in the afternoon and he knew this was the place you’d always choose. However he didn’t see you when he walked in so instead of finding a table and taking a seat he decided to order something to go since he was already there. He stood there waiting for his drink, feeling dissapoited and stupid for thinking this would ever work. He thanked the barista as he grabbed his drink after they had called his name, and was about to leave the coffee shop when he heard you.

“Mat?” you called him and he turned around instantly at the sound of your voice. A certain spark appeared in his eyes when he saw you. You thought it was probably a surprise, but what he was feeling was pure happiness.

“Hey.” he said with the biggest smile as he walked up to your table.

You stood up to greet him, not sure if you should go for a hug or not. He awkwardly opened his arms once he was in front of you and you stepped into his all too familiar hold. The two of you stood there in eachothers arms, it was clear you both had missed this.

“What brings you to this side of the city?” you asked breaking away from the hug, worried it had gone a bit overly long for a hug between two exes.

“I was just- you know, running some errands. What about you?”

“I wanted to take a quick break from work and this place is near my office.”

“Oh! You still work a couple blocks from here, right?” he pretended to remember just then, even though that was the exact reason he had driven to the other side of the city for coffee.

“Yeah I do.” you replied and the conversation died there. Neither of you knew what to say, you had both imagined this moment so many times and now that it was happening you were silent. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in so long.” you finally said.

“Same. We need to catch up one of these days.” A thought crossed your mind and you let it out without much thinking.

“I still have some minutes left from my break if you want to- you know. I mean if you have the time, I-I get it if you don’t-” you started to regret it as you were saying it, not because you didn’t want to sit and have a nice talk with him, but because maybe he didn’t. After all you were still his ex, no matter how friendly exes could be, maybe he was just being polite when he said you should catch up and you shouldn’t have taken it seriously.

“I’d love to.” he said with a sweet smile cutting you off when he saw how nervous you were getting. Relief washed over your body and you went back to your seat.

“Are you sure? Weren’t you running some errands?”

“Oh yeah but that can wait.” he brushed it off as he pushed the chair in front of yours to take a seat. “So how’s life? Anything new?”

“Not really.” you said and it was like a weight was taken off his shoulders. All of this would have been pointless if you were with someone new, however he knew you were too nice to actually tell him if you had moved or not. “I finally got that promotion I wanted.” you added like it wasn’t a big deal, not sure if bringing up work was a good idea. It was a sensitive topic when you were together because your jobs were the main reason you couldn’t spend as much time as you’d like together, that was one of the main reasons you had broken up after all.

“That’s huge news Y/N! Congrats!” he said grining from ear to ear. You could tell he was genuinely happy for you. “I know how hard you worked for that. You really deserved it.”

“Thanks. What about you?”

“Everything’s pretty much the same. Family is good. Team is good. We play next friday.”

“God I miss going to the games. It’s not the same watching them at home.” you said thoughtlessly, it didn’t feel like a big deal to admit you still saw him play but to Mat it definitely was. You could tell your comment surprised him by the way his eyes went wide and he caught his breath.

“You still watch our games?” he asked, still unable to believe you would. He didn’t know why, but for some reason he thought after the breakup you had stopped watching their games, trying to avoid him like any ex would. Knowing you didn’t try to somehow erase him of your life gave him hope.

“I became an Isles fan because of you but I can’t just stop being one because we’re over.” you replied like it was the most obvious thing on earth. His smile only grew bigger at the thought of you laying on your couch in your pijamas, watching him play, cheering when they’d score and probably doing that cute twitch with your nose you’d do everytime it became too rough for your liking.

“Maybe I could go to the next game. Say hi to the team and the girls. If you’re okay with it.” The idea came to your mind as you witnessed how happy he was to know you were still a fan, nevertheless you started to regret what you were saying again as the words left your lips, not wanting to overstep that line between friendly exes and actual friends.

“I’m more than okay with it.” he was quick to reply, excited at the mere possibility of you going to see him play. He knew you were going to see the whole team, not just him, but still he’d be lying if he said he didn’t miss looking up and seeing your face in the crowd, a huge smile full of pride for him.

“The guys really miss you and the wags too. They ask me about you all the time and I never know what to say.” he added.

“I miss them too. The barbeques, going to the bar after a win, gossiping with the girls, kicking everyone’s ass at beer pong.” you said, reminiscing all the amazing moments you had lived with his team.

You had dated for over 2 years and in that time you had become part of his family, not just the team that were like a second family to him, his actual family. In those two years you had somehow made your way into all the aspects of his life, rooted yourself there to the point that after the break up it felt weird not having you there. That was the reason why he was here today, because even almost an year later he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing in his life.

The conversation kept on flowing naturally between the two of you, no one who saw you would’ve guessed you were exes. Mat could feel that other part of him that had been missing slowly coming back, and you too, slowly all the reasons why breaking up seemed like the only answer to your problems started fading away and you even found yourself wondering why you broke up in the first place.

You talked about your families, your friends, your jobs, and once you had run out of topics you started sharing anecdotes, remembering all the good times you have had together. You remembered that night you met after Mat saved you from the worst date of your life, you had become friends after that and slowly started falling for eachother. His happiness the first time you went to see him play and how it had been one of his best games ever. The time you almost burn down the kitchen trying to cook, that had actually happened many times. How nervous he was when he decided to tell you how he really felt and  the overjoy when he heard you say you felt the same. The fact that no one was surprised when you told them you had gotten together, they even teased you saying it was about time. Everyone seemed to know you were meant to be except for the two of you.

Without him even noticing that one question started forming in his head. It wasn’t a new one, he’d sometimes ask it to himself and drift off in his thoughts about all the possible answers and outcomes. He always felt tempted to just text you said question, finally put an end to it and find out the real answer. And now as he had you right in front of him for the fist time in months, a sweet smile plastered on your face, laughing at some dumb joke he had made, he couldn’t resist it anymore.

“Do you ever wonder if one thing had been different, would everything be different today?” The question left his lips before he could even process what he was saying. He was as shocked as you were to hear him say it. “I mean, if we had worked it out how different everything would be today, you know.”

“I do.” you replied, taking another sip of your now almost empty cup and looking away trying to hide the blush that was quick to appear in your cheeks. You didn’t know why you were blushing, it felt like you were admitting something you hadn’t even been able to admit to yourself yet.

“Me too. I think that by now, after trying a million times, a lot of begging and maybe a bit of extortion, I would have finally convinced you to move to my apartment.” You couldn’t help the childish laugh that escaped at his comment. Mat had asked you to move in with him countless times when you were still together, saying it wouldn’t be much different since you already spent most of your time there. But you never gave in, there was always that one insecurity, what if we break up? What if the convenience was too much? You weren’t wrong after all you did end up breaking up, but now as you thought about it it sounded nice, you almost wished it was real.

“And I would have convinced you to adopt a puppy.” you added and he was the one laughing now.

“That’s the extortion part. If you move in, we adopt a puppy.”

“It probably would have worked.”

“So it would be you, me and a dog living together?” he said while counting with his fingers, then stopped to look you in the eyes. “Doesn’t sound bad at all.”

The conversation went quiet once again, but not because there was nothing left to say. On the contrary there were so many things the both of you wanted to say. ‘I miss us’, ‘I regret it all’ were some of them. But neither of you had the courage to say them, you just stayed there looking at each other with a mixture of nostalgia for everything that happened and regret for everything that didn’t. There were smiles on both your faces and your heart started racing when Mat finally opened his mouth to say it, somehow you knew he was going to say what you were too afraid to confess to even yourself.

That’s when your cell phone started ringing bringing you back to reality, the reality in which you were just two exes grabbing a coffee together. You had forgotten you were supposed to go back to work, that’s the effect he had on you, the whole world would disappear. Your phone was in your bag, at some point you had put it away so there would be no distractions. You grabbed it and saw your boss's name on the screen.

“Shit. It’s my boss.” you said shoving it back in your bag. You don’t know how long you had been talking, but it was definitely past your break. “I probably should head back to work.” You hated each word as it left your mouth, but there was nothing you could do. The moment had come to an end.

“Yeah of course.” he said as both of you stood up.

After you made your way out of the coffee shop you stood on the sidewalk. It was clear neither of you wanted to say goodbye but it was time. He noticed your hesitation, so he stepped forward and pulled you into a hug.

“Goodbye Y/N.” he whispered into your neck. It felt like your break up all over again, neither of you wanted to pull away, neither of you wanted it to end, but there was nothing left to say or do. You hated it.

There were a million thought runnign through your head but all you were able to reply was:

“Goodbye Mat.”

Then you pulled away and turned around quickly so he wouldn’t see your face, because if he did he would know exactly how you were feeling. You started walking down the street, trying to push away the feeling that there were so many things left unsaid.

Mat watched you walk away. A feeling of dejavu took over, it was just like your break up, you walking away from him down the hall of his building, into the elevator and out of his life. He couldn’t do it again. No. This time it was going to be different, he would not let you go.

Before he knew it he was running down the street, shouting your name.

“Y/N wait!”

“What?” you turned around confused.

“I wanna see you again.” he finally said once he had caught up.

“Sure we can keep catching up-”

“No I mean see you as on a date.” he cut you off. “I wanna take you out on a date and talk and laugh and discuss what went wrong and how to fix it. I wanna try again Y/N.”

He was saying everything you knew you wanted to hear but hadn't admitted it yet. However your insecurities were stronger. It was getting real and the moment you have had minutes ago was slowly being overshadowed by the bad memories. The fights and the impotence you’d feel after each one of them because the problems you had couldn’t be solved.

“Mat ...” He knew you were about to turn him down, that doubt was taking over, but he wasn’t going down without a fight.

“Come on, you can’t tell me you didn’t feel that. It was like time hadn’t gone by, like we had never broken up. We still have it. Please give me a second chance. Give us a second chance.” He didn’t care how embarrassing he sounded basically begging you, all he needed was the chance to show you not everything was lost.

You stopped for a second to actually think about it, but there wasn’t much to think about, your destiny had been sealed the moment you called out his name when he was about to leave the coffee shop earlier.

“One date.” you finally said and his whole face lit up. You couldn’t help but smirk at how sweet he looked.

“One date.” he agreed.

“Then we can see how we go from there.” You wanted to be clear with him, accepting his offer didn’t mean you were getting back together. He nodded. “When?”

“Whenever you can. If it was up to me I’d take you out tonight, but I don’t wanna be pushy.” You laughed once again at how cute he looked ecstatic to get that second chance.

“Maybe next friday after the game?”

“Yes.”

“I better get going.” you told him slowly, turning around to leave, but he stepped forward to hug you one last time. This time it felt different, it wasn’t a goodbye, this time it was full with hope.

Sharing a room with Alex during the World Cup was somewhat rough when you were barely able to look at her without blushing. You were crushing on her since the day you met, but it was never that bad until you were on the bed next to hers.

The awkwardness that overcame you around her was odd, considering you texted practically nonstop. You became good friends like that, and there was an ease on your conversations that you’d never experienced with anyone else.

You shared so many interests, even had a similar lookout in life. You aimed for the same goals and put in equal amounts of effort to achieve them.

None of that changed the fact that Alex was stupidly handsome. Her beauty smacked you on the face whenever you looked at her and that was your downfall. It didn’t matter what you did, your cheeks would end up flushed with color and you’d stammer total nonsense that would make her chuckle. Alex would inevitably get closer to make sure you were okay, and just like that you were a gay mess.

A thing you learned quickly about Alex is that she never quit.

When you were too nervous to talk, she filled in the silence with a funny story or a new song to listen together. Free nights became movie marathons or just quiet moments where you’d work the nerves away before a match.

Halfway through the World Cup it wasn’t a rare occurrence for you to fall asleep in her bed and wake up cuddled on her side come morning.

Pointing the exact moment when your relationship became more than a friendship was near impossible. It was slow, steady and swift. One day you looked at her and realized that she was more than your friend, and when you leaned down to kiss her, she met you halfway.

This was a new side of yourself and Alex; one that you wanted to enjoy without rush or pressure. No one really knew you were into girls to start with although your crush on her wasn’t exactly subtle. Then again, everyone had to be a little starstruck by Alex Morgan when they joined the USWNT.

Once you were World Champions, you had time to explore that relationship and everything it meant to you. It was both exhilarating and terrifying with all the media swarming you, and yet no one noticed the slight changes in your demeanor.

No one really asked, and you never told.

Perhaps you just weren’t ready to come out to the rest of the world. Maybe wrapping your head around some of the details was harder than you thought. After all, you were dating Alex Morgan, for fuck’s sake!

Maybe the longing looks, the lingering touches and the secretive smiles were a few clues for the team, but if they knew or suspected something, you couldn’t tell. They were a part of your family, and in the end, they wanted you to be happy above everything else.

They would wait for you to be ready, and once things went back to normal after the victory tour, you finally were.

“How are we doing this?” Alex asked as she played with your hair. “Livestream?”

You look up at her, your head resting on her lap as you scroll through social media wondering what the fuck you’re about to do. But a second later all your attention is on her, and you find yourself breathless once again.

She’s stunning in a million different ways but you preferred this one; soft and relaxed. That was one of the perks of enjoying a quiet weekend at her place in L.A. before you went back to your respective clubs.

It seems like the National team is fond of Live Streams but it isn't how you want to come out. First because you’d become a nerve mess before actually sharing the news, and second because it isn’t original at all.

If you are about to come out to the fans and sponsors out there, you want to do so in a way they’d remember.

“I don’t think I could do it even if I tried,” you finally say.

Then it dawns on you: humor is the way you handle most of the things that would make you uncomfortable otherwise. That’s not to say you want the world to believe your relationship with Alex is a joke, but there has to be a way to come out in a funny, quirky and clever way.

“We’ll see each other in a couple of weeks, right?” You ask trying to remember the exact date when your clubs will face each other.

“Yeah,” she pauses for a second and you look up at her curiously. “Speaking of, any chance I can steal you for a night while you’re in Orlando?”

“Well, Ms. Morgan, I’m pretty sure that can be arranged,” you tell her with a coy smile. “For now, there’s some online shopping to do.”

With a kiss on her cheek and all the hesitation on the world to leave her side, you finally go to the other side of the room to retrieve your laptop. After all, you’re in a very important mission. And NWSL is the kind of merchandise you’re looking for.

For some miracle of the Gods above, you find both your jerseys in stock available for shipping within 24 hours with an extra fee. You don’t mind paying a bit more to stay on schedule, and even when you technically still have time, you like to be prepared.

It’d be nice to get your items before you and Alex go your separate ways.

You’d be lying if you say having her autograph wouldn’t be nice too.

“What’s the big idea here?” Alex asks while you finalize the purchase.

Her arms found their place around your waist and she rests her chin on your shoulder so she can see what you’re doing. Your plan is still a secret, and you want to keep it like that for a little longer.

“You’re gonna have to wait and trust me for a while.”

The smirk never leaves your face even when you can feel her little pout. It doesn’t last long, the laptop is forgotten on the coffee table and you turn on her arms to face her. A moment later you’re straddling her lap, your fingers undoing her ponytail and combing her hair until she closes her eyes.

“For now, what do you say we stop worrying about the rest of the world?”

“What should we do then?” She asks, already leaning in for a kiss.

“I think you got the right idea.”

You scan the place one last time to make sure nothing’s missing from your bag. Nothing important since Alex has already claimed half your clothes.

Cellphone and wallet already in your pocket, and keys right on your hand, everything seems to be where it should. The rest of your things are packed and ready to go for the last flight home.

The Victory Tour ended on a good note, so now all you have to do is say goodbye to Alex.

Sharing a room with her was hard at the beginning, and you never expected that not sharing it anymore would be exponentially harder.

“Yeah,” you finally answer after patting your pockets once again. “I think-, I think I’m ready.”

“Okay.”

But just like you, Alex doesn’t really move and when she does, it’s towards you.

You’ve never seen her move as fast as she does while crossing the distance between you. But you don’t comment on it, really can’t when her arms are around you in a second and her lips are on yours.

It’s soft and yet firm. The kind of kiss that makes you weak at the knees and all you can do is hold onto her shoulders. You move with her, allow her to take control of it all as you try to burn her into your memory.

You try to memorize the softness of her lips, the silkiness of her hair between your fingers and even that scent that is purely Alex. You try to take all of it in, but you only have a moment that is over far too soon.

Technology is your saving grace, and you’re not sure what you’d do otherwise. And yet there are things you can’t convey through the Internet.

“I should go,” you whisper against her lips.

“Yeah.”

It’s hard -almost impossible-, to resist Alex. So despite the pressing matter of time, you indulge in another kiss.

Just like last time, you melt into her embrace and you consider staying there forever. It’s almost as if time stopped around you. Almost. Your alarm goes off startling you out of the daze, and you can help the little jump that makes Alex chuckle.

A step back creates just enough distance to clear your mind, the action making Alex raise an eyebrow in amusement but it’s really not your fault. She has that effect on you, has been that way for a long time, and yet she still finds it amusing.

With a tap on the screen you take care of the alarm. And there you are, right where you were ten minutes ago.

Time to go.

“Right. So...here I go then.”

“And-,” Alex adds with an excited smile, “-we have a game plan for next week.”

“That we do.”

Next week you’re playing against different teams on different days which gives you the opportunity to watch each other’s match. It’s the first step on your plan. Coming out seems like a big deal, and bit by bit the pieces get in motion.

“No regrets, right?” You ask.

This is not just about you. As big as coming out can be, this is also the reveal of your relationship with the biggest face of the USWNT. Whatever backlash you can get from this, it’ll be worse for her due to her massive following.

So you have to ask her again if she’s sure about this, if she’s as ready as you are.

“Y/n,” she calls softly as she cups your face. “No regrets at all.”

“Good,” you said with a small voice, barely believing this. “That’s...that’s good.”

You’re on this together, and yet, it’s incredible.

Her match is about to start when you pull out your phone to take a selfie.

The pride colors look kinda odd on you. Maybe it’s because you spent the last few months only wearing the National Team kit, or maybe it’s because you don’t wear purple that often. But well, you’re not requesting a team trade, and it was your idea, so you can’t complain.

One of your friends already helped you take one picture of the back where Alex’s name and number are perfectly visible.

You’re practically shaking, but manage to smile as you snap the picture.

It’s something simple, really. Something that shouldn’t mean too much and yet, it does.

The wink is cheeky; it’s a reason for people to read into it and wonder if there’s something else going on. Which is…well, totally the point.

It’s funny to see the diverse reactions to your post. Some are confused about what you mean, some jump to call a trade that simply won’t happen; at least not that you know. But the press, oh they are ready to call it a rivalry.

It doesn’t matter how many times you two were caught on camera during the world cup being friendly. It didn’t matter if you two worked like a well oiled machine on the field during every match; Victory Tour included. They wanted to push the rivalry angle; fueled by the lack of a rebuttal from either of you.

You can’t help but laugh later when you call Alex to congratulate her. She truly showed you what she got with a couple of goals and the victory for the Orlando Pride. Those have been rare for her team lately, although you can’t blame them with so many key players also going to the World Cup.

However, the rivalry angle is fun to play with and in the end it’s the one you decide to push a little more the next day when it’s you on the field while Alex watches.

You’re already done with warm-ups and head out to the locker room to change into the kit when you hear your phone pinging with a new post. As expected, you find Alex’s post already blowing up despite it has been up for a grand total of two minutes.

A week later the press is going wild with theories about you and Alex. They aren’t sure what to make of it, but everyone has been talking about it for days. The upcoming match up between your clubs has served to add fuel to the fire, but you ignore all the fuzz of it as you prepare.

Last week you obtained the victory with a last minute goal to earn the three points. And unable to resist temptation, you had to make another post about it.

The last part was a clue that no one seemed to catch on considering you were staying at her place instead of sticking with your club in a hotel. Of course, you didn’t share that bit of information and instead let the tension grow outside of your happy bubble.

This match is the moment of culmination if everything goes the right way. But playing against Alex doesn’t mean you’re going easy on her. If anything, being on the same field always pushes you to play the best soccer and be the best player you can be out there. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing the same colors or not.

Being lenient with her as a rival is the kind of mistake that could and would cost you a game. You just don’t underestimate Alex Morgan. And she better not do so to you or you’ll make her pay.

Adjusting the captain armband once more, you follow your team into the field and take your place just a few feet away from your girlfriend.

“Good luck, Morgan.”

“May the best team win.”

You play your hardest on that field; push to your limits and beyond, but in the end it’s a draw. Two a piece. Of course it had to be a draw. But you left everything there.

The game became physical and you tackled Alex as much as she tackled you in order to get back a lost ball. That’s part of your motto, not giving up even if it seems like a lost cause. And considering Alex decided to date you even when you couldn’t look at her four months ago, you’d say Alex doesn’t give up either.

Well that and the couple of new bruises you have after the match.

You’re a bit disappointed with the final score; you always want to win and carry that inertia into the next game. But it’s a fair result considering how close the game actually was. You two put on a show and the fans of both teams can see that.

“Y/n! Y/n! Can you give us one moment of your time?”

Looking at the person calling for you, you have to fight the smirk as you see it’s a reporter. It’s not hard to imagine they’ve been waiting for this moment since the first post you made a week ago.

“Sure.”

“What a great game you gave us today. Are you disappointed with the result?”

You can see this is not really what they want to ask, but you don’t mind playing along giving your commentary to this question and a couple of others.

“One last question, the fans and everyone really, are wondering about this new rivalry between you and Alex Morgan. What can you tell us about that?”

Bingo.

“Oh, there’s absolutely no-”

You could feel Alex lingering around, listening into this interview while being interviewed herself by another reporter for a quote after the game. But it’s only when you’re in the middle of your answer that she takes the few steps to wrap her arms around you from behind.

“We’re dating,” she announces proudly and straight to the point.

“-rivalry.” You finish your sentence before shaking your head. “Babe, I was going to say it!”

“What’s stopping you?” Alex challenges with that smirk you absolutely adore.

“You’re impossible.“

“Yeah, and…?”

“And Alex Morgan is my girlfriend,” you answer with just a little grumble as you look back at the camera. “But we’re definitely winning the next game.”

“Not on my watch,” she counters before turning your face towards her to kiss you softly.

Whatever argument you had is gone just like that. But it’s hard to keep track of your thoughts when she kisses you. Hell, it’s impossible to think straight when she’s too close to you. That’s why it took you so long to actually talk to her.

Your relationship is still so new, and yet you can’t help but feel like you’ve known her for decades. The connection between the two of you is meant to last, and you’ve never felt your heart skip a beat as it does when you look at her.

You’ve never felt your heart hammer against your chest so madly; and that’s something considering you played -and conquered-, a World Cup. You’ve never felt so in peace as you do when you look into her eyes. You’ve never felt so happy, or so whole, or so seen...or so you.

Alex has the ability to understand everything you say, but words aren’t needed for her to understand you. In a short amount of time, Alex knows you better than anyone else in the world, and as scary as that might seem, it’s also the best thing in the world.

“If you’ll excuse us now...”

Surely there are a thousand other questions the press wants to ask. However, you have no need to stay on the field as you guide Alex back to the tunnel. The fans will be all over that interview in no time, and it’s bound to appear in every social media and every news channel.

Even with the anxiety starting to creep in, the doubts nagging at the back of your mind, you don’t let go of her hand until you have to. After all, you belong to two different clubs. But your goodbye will be short lived as you’re going to her place for the night.

Still, the time apart is a bit scary when you’re about to face the backlash of many, and perhaps the support of most. After all, you’re not the first couple -or the only one-, in the USWNT, NWSL or even women’s soccer around the world.

After another gentle kiss, you part ways to reunite with your team.

You’re hesitant for a moment; taking a deep breath to steel yourself before facing them.

As soon as they see you, the room erupts in cheers and whistles of approval. Then again, your crush on Alex Morgan wasn’t exactly a secret. And after the World Cup, they could see something had changed within you.

Of all the people out there to get you, your club got your back. And after you get a chance to check your phone, you notice they ain’t the only ones.

•He is grabbing you, holding onto you trying to hide all of his fear

•”So... like a nightmare?"

•"It isn't exactly like a nightmare, because you are actually awake so you feel everything a  lot more realistic and you really feel like it's here" you try to explain him

•"B... but... are those shadows real?"

•No, Kazu, they aren't

•He chills out after that

•Poor boy was totally ready to move to another house or even another country if those shadows were real

•And now, knowing it isn't real he can focus on you

•He knows it has to be horrible, he usually wakes up crying after a nightmare so he can't even imagine how horrible it has to be

•So he cuddles with you and caresses you all night

•And also suggest to keep the lights turn on

•Just in case... it helps you, you know?

•Yeah, sure, you aren't afraid at all, Kazuichi

•But you actually thank him for that

•He suggested it for himself but having the lights turned on help you

•You have much less terrifying paralysis this way

•Everything that can attack you looks less bad on the light

•And having Kazu holding onto you also helps to reduce your paralysis

•Not that he mind it, he has tried to convince you about it before knowing about your paralysis already, he isn't a big fan of darkness

•You had never had a sleep paralysis sleeping with him

•And you screamed when you woke up

•Well, you were scared so you had reasons to scream

•But know he is angry

•Someone woke him up and that makes him very very angry

•And then he realizes it's you, screaming, who woke him up

•That makes him even more angry

•And also worried

• Who or what dred to scare his beloved S/O?

•"What happened?! Is someone here?! Someone hurted you?! Someone tried to kidnap you?!"

•Okay, he is a little paranoid

•But he is the leader of the biggest yakuza clan, he is used to big problems so he gets on the worse easily

•You explain him the real problem as fast as you can so he calms down as soon as possible

•And he is relaxed

•Well, he is worried about you and gets that it is a horrible thing

•But he thought something a lot worse had happened

•So he hugs you and tries to reassure you

•But the one that has really been reassured is actually him

•Now you do manage to fall asleep on his arms

•And he waits until your breath gets heavier to try to sleep too

•He didn't want to sleep while you were scared

•But you are sleeping now and he has to get as many hours of sleep as he can or tomorrow he will be even more irritable than usually

•And when you open your eyes you see your girlfriend with a sword in her hands

•Wow, she's fast

•"There's.... there's nothing..."

•She and Fuyuhiko are just as paranoids

•You try to explain her that it was just a sleep paralysis, like a nightmare but much worse

•She just has to hold you and calm you to sleep

•But she tries to cheer you up

•And being honest, seeing her with that sword just as soon as you woke up made you feel very vey safe

•You had just seen a girl next to you, sitting on Ibuki's lap

•So you are quite... scared

•And Ibuki wakes up with you

•She doesn't have a heavy sleep so she wakes up easily just with you moving a little

•And you explain her what happens

•She tries to cheer you up singing

•And sing you to sleep too

•But her voice is worse than the nightmares

•Not tha she's a bad singer, she is amazing

•She just... isn't very... relaxing to say

•And you know that If she keeps singing the neighbour's will probably call the police

•So you just ask her to tell you about her day until you fall sleep again

•She knows there are hundreds of ways to stop sleep paralysis

•But with medical proofs? Not so many

•She's the ultimate nurse so she really knows how to help stop them

•Have enough sleep, regular sleep patterns and being relaxed and comfortable going to sleep

•She can help you with all of that

•She steps an hour to go to bed so you have enough rest

•You two always sleep together since she knows about your paralysis so she will comprobar that you actually follow a sleep pattern

•And she tries to calm you and reassure you that nothing will happen while you sleep

•Caressing you, hugging you and being your personal teddy bear

•Of course with all of her usual shyness and clumness but it does help you feel better

•And if that doesn't stop your sleep paralysis then she knows the medicine that can help stop them

•She either prescribes you imipramine or clomipramine

•The point is that, however she manages to you do stop having those paralysis

•So go and thank your nurse girlfriend! She's definitely the best!

-He isn’t exactly the cuddly type if you couldn’t tell already. He’s pretty reserved when it comes to giving and receiving affection

-That doesn’t mean he dislikes it by any means!

-It’s just hard for him to accommodate to having a partner and receiving physical affection

-He gets used to it after a while

-But for the first few months of you guys going out, he kinda tends to lay quite still while cuddling in bed

-Sometimes it feels like you’re cuddling a lamppost

-Stiff and unresponsive

-He’s still not exactly the biggest fan of cuddling but he finds your little acts of love cute

-He’s OK with you laying your head on his chest at night since you are close but your presence isn’t too overwhelming

Lindsey x reader x Sonnett where Reader tries to hide being sick from Lindsey over Facetime and Lindsey shows up to take care of her?

You were a lot of things. You were a fantastic forward for the US Women’s National Team. You were a great baker and a fantastic girlfriend to both Lindsey and Emily. However there were a few things that you were not good at, and lying was at the top of that list. Your girlfriends had learned your tells within the first month that the three of you had been together, and their ability to read you like a book had grown exponentially in the three and a half years you had been together. 

Though you had never tried to lie to them on FaceTime before, so you could only hope that your sister’s spotty internet connection would be bad enough to prevent them from seeing right through you. You loved your sister, but not including 2 plus ones in your invitation to her wedding had been a major mess up on her part. She hadn’t budged on the “just one girlfriend” Mantra, and you would never be able to pick between Linds and Em, So here you were trapped in Kansas City alone. Alone and suffering from major food poisoning from her shitty wedding food. 

You had spent the entire day practically glued to the porcelain throne, unable to do anything but be miserable. You knew that you had missed texts from your favorite duo and that if you missed your nightly FaceTime, they were going to freak out more than they probably already were. 

You dragged yourself back to your bed and tried to make yourself look remotely presentable. Just passable enough to not draw the suspicions of your very overprotective girlfriends. 

You took a deep breath just before clicking the accept button, forcing a smile as your blond-haired beauties appeared on the screen. 

“Babes!” You cheered, praying that there was enough pep in your voice. 

“Hey beautiful, you alright, you look a little pale,” Lindsey smiled at you, leaning closer to the screen to get a better look. You could see the worry in her eyes and felt a small rush of nerves. 

“Yep I’m great, just a little tired,” you waved nonchalantly, doing everything in your power to prevent your hand from traveling to the back of your neck. It was your most prominent tell and the most difficult for you to stop. 

“You sure, because the way your squinting makes it seem like you haven’t quite gotten over your hangover yet,” Emily said, quirking an eyebrow at you, worry leaning into your tone. You weren’t nearly as smooth as you thought you were. Your eyes were bloodshot and your face was pale. They would have to be living under a rock to not recognize the signs. Still, you rolled your eyes at the girl as though she was crazy. 

“You two know how to make a girl feel good… and yeah I’m fine,” You huffed, running a hand through your hair, and tucking a more stubborn piece behind your ear. 

“Whatcha been up to?” Lindsey asked, eyeing you suspiciously. She was more worried than anything that you ignored them for the entire day. They knew that you had a fairly contentious relationship with your family and that you had probably gone overboard with the alcohol at your sister’s wedding. She didn’t like that she wasn’t there to protect you both from your mother’s silver tongue and your unhealthy reactions to it. 

“Boring family stuff,” You yawned, your fingers migrating to rub soothing circles on the back of your neck, your eyes closing for a moment without your permission. Being around your family was exhausting. Your parents wouldn’t leave you alone when they found out that you weren’t feeling good. But instead of doing helpful things like rubbing your back or holding your hair, they were more concerned about if this would ruin your sister’s wedding weekend. What you would give for Linds and Em to be here. 

“Hm,” Emily hummed quietly, worry etched on her features. Your hands were your biggest give away when something wasn’t right, but why would you be lying to them and ignoring them?

“Did you get our texts?” Lindsey questioned after a few seconds, your eyes blinking open in surprise. You had been pretty preoccupied with your stomach issues to answer them. You had known that they were texting you, but you couldn’t bring yourself to answer. 

“I didn’t get to read them,” You mumbled guiltily, and you saw the telltale tick up of your girlfriends’ lips. Yes, they were worried about you, but your guilty pout was too cute to not smile at, though they would never tell you that. You hated being called cute and adorable, though your bedhead right now was making you just that. 

“That’s a shame because we kinda got into a little bit of a contest,” Lindsey smirked at you, seduction leaking into her tone. They had both planned this as a way to help you… relax… while you were away. The three of you barely spent time apart, and when you did, you always got antsy. 

“You two and your competitiveness. What was your contest,” you laughed humorlessly, forcing a small smile onto your lips. You were typically excited about their stupid games. They were always entertaining, but you weren’t feeling it right now. If you told them that, then they would know that there was something wrong. So, you would pretend for their sake. There was no sense in worrying them when there wasn’t anything they could do to help. 

“It was the TikTok dirty photo challenge,” Emily said, bouncing in her seat and shaking the phone around. 

“The what?” You furrowed your eyebrows at her, both from trying to quell the nausea that all her moving was giving you and because you had no idea what she was talking about. You weren’t a big fan of social media and stayed off of it for the most part. You balanced out Emily’s over involvement nicely.

“You send a dirty photo to your significant other while they’re in a public setting,” Lindsey explained, grabbing the phone from Sonnett’s hand and steadying the camera, squinting at the suddenly green sheen that had washed over your face. 

“And then record their reaction,” Emily screeched, and you recoiled from the piercing sound, nearly dropping the phone. 

“We changed it to who could get the best reaction out of you, so we need you to tell us who won,” Lindsey hummed, placing a settling hand on Emily’s shoulder. The pained look that crossed your features confirming that you weren’t ok. She sent you a sad smile, as you groaned. You usually didn’t mind being pulled into their antics, but right now all you wanted to do was sleep. 

Rather than respond with words, you nodded to them halfheartedly, missing the worried glance they shared. You had the dirtiest mind of the three of you, and you loved it when they sent you “surprises” as the three of you called them, especially after being separated from them for a week. 

You flipped through the photos, that on any other day would have stolen your breath away, squinting to minimize the effect of the bright screen on your eyes. You head throbbed as you took in the two photos, the difference being that Lindsey had chosen a blue number while Emily had chosen red, both of which were decidedly your favorite colors on the women. They had pulled out all the stops. 

You barely looked at the photos, before switching back to the call, grumbling out an “I can’t choose, so it’s a tie,”. 

“That’s not the reaction we were hoping for,” Emily visibly deflated on the screen. You were usually the most articulate of the three of you. You loved to tell your girls how amazing they looked, and to point out exactly what… features you were enjoying the most. It was nice because you weren’t gross about it. They didn’t feel objectified under your gaze, because you always made sure they knew that you loved them and how lucky you felt that they felt confident enough to send you stuff. You were never shy about telling them how sexy they were and you always made sure to make them feel gorgeous. 

But right now, you looked like you were half asleep, and if dirty pictures couldn’t wake you up, something had to be very wrong. 

“You sure you’re feeling alright?” Lindsey asked again, no longer trying to hide just how worried she was. You let out an audible groan at their continued questioning. Yes, it would be nice to have them here, but you didn’t want them to have to deal with the family bullshit that always came with it, and they had important Adidas obligations while you were gone that were more important than your stupid sister’s wedding. 

“Hey y/n I brought you food because you haven’t eaten all day,” Your sister burst through the door, carrying what looked like a sandwich, and you scrubbed your hands over your eyes in frustration. Of course, she had to choose this moment to finally care about your wellbeing. You were known for your snacking abilities, and you not eating was like the nail in the coffin of your lie. Plus it meant that you had broken one of the rules that the three of you had. Sometimes when Emily got stressed, she skipped meals. To fix that, all three of you had made a rule that you had to eat at least twice a day. You were usually the best at not breaking it, so it was shocking when you did. 

“What?!” Both your girls exclaimed, and you winced. 

“I told you guys I’m fine,” You growled, glaring at your sister with all your might. 

“Bullshit,” Lindsey hissed back, utterly tired of you lying to them. Something was wrong and she needed to know what it was. 

“Look, I’m tired and I just want to go to bed,” You grumbled, yawing again. You didn’t want to eat the stupid sandwich your sister had brought you, as you probably wouldn’t be able to keep it down anyway. You didn’t want to argue with your girlfriends either. You didn’t feel good, and without them, you just wanted to cuddle your stuffed Dino and go to sleep until you could fly home to them. 

“We love you,” They whispered worriedly after a few seconds of watching you. 

“I love you too,” You hummed, closing your eyes. 

“Sleep babe, we’ll stay on until you’re out,” Emily said quietly, and your grip on the phone tightened as though you were trying to hang onto them. It only took a few minutes for your breathing to even out. Your sister watched you fondly from her place at the door, listing as Emily and Lindsey talked quietly to themselves, trying to figure out what was wrong with you. She was regretting not allowing you to bring the two women. 

She walked over to you, gently taking the phone out of your death grip, and glancing at the women on the screen. 

“She’s super sick, and she won’t tell you this, but I think she needs you to come. We can’t get her to eat and this is the most comfortable she’s been all day,” Your sister listed off, glancing down at your sleeping form, Lindsey and Emily told her their thanks before hanging up. They had a flight to book.

You weren’t sure how long you had been asleep, but as you became more conscious, you could hear light voices very close to your ear and feel warm bodies surrounding you. Emily’s perfume permeated your nose, and you dug your face deeper into the pillow that smelled like her. You knew you still had to be dreaming because it felt like her neck, like your favorite hiding spot. 

The weight around your middle tightened comfortingly, almost like when Lindsey rubbed your tummy to get you to settle in your sleep. You sighed contently, what a great dream this was. 

“She’s been asleep since your call,” Your sister’s voice broke through your internal monologue. You’re ears perked up. Who could she be talking too? The pillow under you shifted, and a careful hand was run through your hair. 

You lifted your head at the action, staring at your two girlfriends in shock. 

“Em, Linds, told you I was fine,” You mumbled quietly, snuggling back into Emily’s neck, and pulling Lindsey’s arm tighter around you. 

“You lied that you were fine, but we forgive you,” Emily chuckled lightly, gently running a finger over your cheek. 

“You didn’t have to come all the way here,” You said halfheartedly, holding onto them tighter. You had missed them, and you still didn’t feel good. You were able to put up a brave front while they were on the phone with you, but with them here, you knew there was no hiding. 

“And we’ll always come for you,” Lindsey hummed quietly into the back of your neck, placing light kisses into the skin she found there. They knew that you were a tough cookie and that you could handle yourself, but they were still happy that they were here to take care of you. Your mother had barely let them in the house, so they could only imagine the shit she had put you through, and your sister said you still had a low-grade fever. 

“Love you guys,” You mumbled leaning up and kissing Emily cheek, before turning slightly so you could do the same to Lindsey. You settled onto the midfielder’s chest, sighing in contentment. You were so happy that they were here. You released a dinosaur yawn as you snuggled deeper into her chest. 

“Trust us, we love you too,” Lindsey smiled, running soothing circles down her back. 

“Sleep babe, we’ll be here when you wake up,” Emily murmured, joining Lindsey’s hands. 

“Promise?” You asked, cracking an eye open to look at her. 

“Always,” She said, kissing your nose and tucking your Dino under your arm. They were here to take care of you now, and there was no way they were going to leave you now.
