I’m gonna try to censor this cause I’m about to be rude.

S!dL!nk shippers are perfect examples of why shipping has become so annoying to my aroace ass in fandom as a whole. People see these INCREDIBLY minor things and insist it’s a sign of a deep profound love, and CANNOT let it go if canon doesn’t bend over backwards to validate them. They attack other characters (very often using sexist logic cause the “threat” is almost always a woman), they try to do everything they can to deny the canon/semi canon ships (the debate about how Link CANNOT be living in his house, as if Zelda just kicked him out lol?) and it’s so annoying to deal with because of how they act.

It’s not canon. It was never canon. It was never going to be canon. Not every interaction is about romance and sex. Sidon is friendly, that’s how he is, he’s sweet and friendly to Link because that’s his personality!! His DEAD SISTER was in love with Link, she was going to give him engagement armor! Sidon wasn’t going to jump on his dick five seconds after meeting him! (I don’t think the ship is “amoral” or whatever. I’m just saying since we’re so hung up on canon, canonically it’d be weird for that to happen like that or quickly. But I’ve noticed shippers also try to undermine Mipha’s feelings, as if their ship only works if Link has never felt anything romantic or had anyone feel anything romantic for him.)

Stop going on other peoples ship posts and making it about Sidon! Stop complaining about his fiancé! Stop trying to deny canon evidence and push on happy Z3link shippers that it’s not what it clearly is! I’m sorry you’re not happy but your ship is just as valid! Your fics are still good! Why has fandom become so obsessive about canon backing y’all up? I was here for early day slash shipping and none of it was explicitly canon and we had a great time!

Fucking hell let people enjoy things and enjoy things without getting so pressed a ship you made up in your head didn’t happen! You will be so much happier!

(Also consider that bi people exist. Sidon can be MLM whether Yona exists or not. Fandom is constantly chomping at the bit to exclude and deny bi people so I’m not surprised. But still.)

I’m up early thinking about how fast people went from being cool about Tommy (and Lou) and the first kiss to absolutely hating him and wanting him dead.

At first, seeing the kiss brought everyone together, but also not really. Everyone was excited about the kiss, how it was executed and the fact that Buck was bisexual, but the thing is, many people were excited for completely different reasons.

Some people were excited because they thought Buck was written as bisexual for them. For their ship. To fit into their headcanons.

So at first, they were willing to ride the wave of Buck and Tommy, thinking he was only gonna be around for 4 episodes. They read Lou’s interviews, thought it was great that he improvised the chin grab, and he received a great deal of approval for how gentle he was with Buck. It wasn’t just bucktommy shippers that wanted to interact with Lou on twitter at one point in time.

Then, people started showing interest in Buck and Tommy as a ship and not a stepping stone and bucktommy shippers were being side-eyed like “hey haha wtf are you doing, this is temporary.” There was a lot of disappointment and resentment because people were “closing” on one ship to enjoy a very real and canon ship, and then the ship itself grew to 1,000 fics in a very short period of time and again, people were like “hey haha wtf, can you literally fucking stop? you’re being weird over a 4 episode fling.” and then people were showing Lou a lot of love, booking his Cameos and constantly praising bucktommy as a couple. And once more, people were like “yo, what the FUCK, you’re gonna make them last longer STOP TALKING ABOUT IT.”

So then the heavier resentment began and there was a very nasty shift. It was “bucktommy bones xx episode trust” every week until it wasn’t, and people became angrier and angrier about it.

Some people already didn’t like Tommy, but they were willing to speak on it either privately or not very aggressively until, well, Tommy received a lot of support and was *checks notes* around for too fucking long. And then hundreds of people started being so aggressive about it that some people felt forced to pick a side for sanity.

People were showing interest in Tommy in a way that was upsetting to people because it made him too significant. Like, when people asked for a Tommy begins episode and fatphobic jokes were made in response.

Shippers have been single-handedly blamed for Tommy being around beyond the 4 episodes. A lot of people thought he would simply disappear and Buck would move on to the relationship people believed he was made bisexual for.

I watched this happen and things became more and more uncomfortable with every week that passed until it was insufferable and I deactivated my old twt account and recently made a new one and blocked a bunch of people.

Later that night, there’s a knock on the fresher door while you’re getting ready for bed.

“I’ll be out in a minute.” You reply around your toothbrush.

“It’s me.” Kanan’s voice is quiet on the other side as if he’s trying to avoid being heard from any of the others, so you open the door. Somehow, the ‘whoosh’ of the door is louder when you’re hoping no one will hear it.

He walks inside, letting the door slide shut behind him, despite you standing in nothing but a towel wrapped tightly around you. 

“Gee, make yourself comfy.” You roll your eyes, spitting into the sink and then rinsing it out and then gargling a bit of water. 

You throw your toothbrush back into your bag and then look at him, leaning against the sink as you do so.

“We should… talk this thing out before we… do anything.” He whispers.

“What thing?” You grin, amused.

It’s almost cute how flustered he is about your kiss earlier. You’d be lying if you said you weren’t also, but you’re trying really hard to play it cool. Sabine’s earlier comment about how you should just bang it out keeps repeating in your head.

Kanan walks in as Ezra walks out, standing over you, making you go warm in the face. 

“It’s too early for this.” You mumble, amused.

Kanan rolls his eyes and hands you a mug of caf. “Thought you could use this.” 

“Thank you.” You outstretch your hand for the mug and he brushes his fingers against yours. 

Whether or not it’s an accident, you can’t be sure. Either way, you take the mug and he sits next to you on the edge of your bunk. As you sit your feet down on the floor, you sit there next to each other in comfortable silence as you both drink your caf.

“I don’t mind this.” He admits. 

“Why, because I’m quiet when I first wake up?” You tease.

He elbows you in the side, teasingly and you both laugh. “Because when I wake up in the mornings, you’re the first face I want to see.” 

You look at him with parted lips. “I-”

“Hey, are you awake-” Sabine’s voice is in the doorway suddenly. “Oh. You’re up.”

You both look at her, flustered. She’s smirking between you and Kanan. Nothing is necessarily happening, but it still feels like she’s caught you in a compromising position.

“She’s up. Just had to coax her out of bed with some caf.” Kanan stands up and heads toward the doorway. 

“Oh, is that all?” Sabine wiggles her eyebrows at you suggestively, and you and Kanan both roll your eyes so hard that it’s almost a surprise they don’t pop out of their sockets.

She quickly makes her way out of your shared cabin and heads toward the exit of the ship to join Hera and Zeb. You can feel Kanan’s presence as you dig for clothes in your drawer and your fresher bag. 

“I feel the same way, you know.” You tell him as you pull out a shirt and pants. 

“I know.” You can feel the smile.

Walking into one of the briefing rooms on Phoenix Cell just as Commander Sato, Ahoska, Sabine, and Hera are talking, you greet Ahsoka with a wave but she glances between you and Kanan and shakes her head with an amused look as she leans against the wall.

Well, that was quick. 

You try to tune into what Sato and Hera are saying but you’re hyper aware of the way that Kanan’s gaze is solely on you from behind you. How it feels like he’s pressed up against you, but he’s not. His presence is just that impactful and compelling to you. 

“-If only we had more allies.” Hera’s voice snaps you out of your trance. 

“I know someone who might be able to help us.” Ahsoka speaks up, still glancing between you and Kanan before walking across the room, in thought. “A great military commander with a vast knowledge of the Outer Rim. He could assist us in finding a base, and his experienced leadership would make him a powerful ally.”

“How do we recruit this leader?” Sato, asks her. 

“That’s the problem. I lost track of him a long time ago and all my transmissions have gone unanswered.” She replies, crossing her arms.

You can sense the worry in her. Whoever this ally was, was someone important to her. 

Ezra speaks up. “We can find him. Let us try.” 

“Well, there is one option I’ve not yet attempted.” Ahsoka smiles softly. “I’ll be back and meet you at your ship.” 

Sato clicks off and everyone starts to leave, but Ahsoka stops you and Kanan in the hallway, just outside the door once everyone has left. 

“What’s up?” You ask her, nervously.

She places her hand on your shoulder in a reassuring way. You immediately feel more at peace and you’re not sure if that’s her doing some Jedi power thing or if it’s just Ahsoka as a person. 

“I notice something’s changed between the two of you.” She murmurs, a soft smile tugging at her lips.

“Uh…” Kanan rubs the back of his neck, looking at you. 

“Is that… a problem?” You ask her.

She chuckles. “Between two consenting adults? No, of course not.”

“But?” You ask.

“But… it is not wise, nor appropriate for a master and a padawan-”

Oh. Of course. It’s not like you hadn’t thought of that. But you don’t see yourself as Kanan’s padawan. You never have. You barely attend his lessons with Ezra. It was just evident that you’re also force sensitive like your brother. You’re not sure about the whole Jedi thing, but it’s still intriguing to you. And you also like to be prepared for as much as possible. It’s just not your path the way it is Ezra’s. “I’m not his padawan. That would be my brother.” You tell her. “I’ve sat in on some of his Jedi lessons with Ezra, but I don’t see him as my Master.”

Kanan smiles softly down at you and then looks at Ahsoka. “Nor do I see her as my padawan. I would never take advantage of her like that. She’s the one in control here, calling the shots.”

“Well, most of them.” You smirk up at him. 

Ahsoka chuckles and nods. “Well, just… be safe.” 

You know what she means and you decide that it’s time for you to go.

“Oh good Maker. Alright, I’ll see you guys…” You shake your head and walk away back toward the Ghost, embarrassed and hot in the face.

You can sense delight practically radiating through Kanan. He’s enjoying this far too much. 

“Is that an old tactical droid head?” Kanan asks Ahsoka when she walks into the cockpit after a while.

You all turn to see her, in fact, carrying an old, bulky tactical droid head. You’re pretty sure those droids were used by the Separatists in the Clone Wars, but you’re not exactly brushed up on the Clone War history, since the war didn’t really reach Lothal. 

“These droids were great at finding things, calculating.” Ahsoka scoffs. “Found my master and I a few times when we didn’t want to be found.”

“How in all the galaxy is that droid gonna find your friend?” Ezra asks, amused and Chopper warbles in agreement. 

“Well, I heard he was last seen in the Seelos system.” She replies, turning to leave. “You can start there.” 

“You’re not coming with us?” Ezra asks, confused.

It’s evident how much your brother looks up to her. 

“I have something else to attend to.” She tells him. 

“The Sith Lord.” Kanan realizes, solemnly. 

“There are questions… Questions that need answering.” She doesn’t look back when she says it, but you sense the worry within her. 

“I wish we could go with you.” Ezra tells her. 

“You have your own mission, Ezra. And Kanan, if you find my friend. You must trust him.” Ahsoka tells Kanan, turning back one last time.

“If he’s all the things you say, we can’t afford not to.” Kanan replies. 

“Trust him.” She says, her face going completely serious before the door closes and she leaves. 

“That was… ominous?” You look up at Kanan from your seat, confused. “Did anyone else think that was ominous as hell?”

Kanan shrugs, like he has no idea what that was about either. A few moments later, Hera pulls the Ghost away from Phoenix Cell and pushes into hyperspeed, headed toward the Seelos system. 

“Well, I don’t know about you, but ominous Jedi warnings always make me hungry.” You clap your hands together and get up to go down to the kitchen. “Anyone else?”

“I could eat.” Kanan pushes away from the wall, smirking at you, prepared to follow.

“I bet you could.” You mutter so only he hears you, only making his smirk break into a grin. 

The moment that the door slides shut behind Kanan, his hand is on your lower back, except when you try to turn to go down the ladder toward the kitchen, he grabs you by the belt loop and leads you into his bunkroom, hitting the lock button behind him.

It must be nice to be able to be a multishipper, but Buddie are so deeply rooted in my brain so it'll need to be surgically removed, I'm afraid, before I can ship either Buck or Eddie with anyone else on the same level 😩

You can imagine parents when a child is diagnosed with an incurable disease, if they have different opinions around what’s best for the child - treatment, dignity, suffering… neither is completely right or wrong, but It can tear them apart. And when the child eventually succumbs, they are left with nothing but each other and the grief - some marriages survive, some don’t.

And to those worried about Louis fading into the background in S3, don’t worry. Don’t you worry, our boy throws down the gauntlet!

Overall, a great conclusion to the NOLA-PARIS arc. And laying foundations for something BIGGER. *wink wink*. My shipper heart whist not euphoric, is adequately satiated for now, knowing a more satisfying outcome is in the future.

Season 3 possibilities: We’re going into somewhat uncharted territory now I think. Louis is a much stronger character than the book!Louis. He has bits of Lestat’s personality and vice versa. Honestly I love it, it will make their relationship moving forward more on equal footing. It lays down the possibility of a power couple Loustat (one that I’ve been advocating) going into Prince Lestat. Lestat doesn’t have to shoulder the entire burden of governance through his personality alone, an equally charismatic partner to share it with. Maybe it will be Prince Louis & Lestat of the House of LOUSTAT endgame for the show!

I guess this feeding discourse could be subjective but what do you call someone waking up at 4am and specifically saying he came to watch Jimin on Suchwita, something he has never done for any other member? Or him lying in bed half naked at 7am in the morning and asking Jimin to come over or opting to go over to him for a Live and a shower? Let’s not even get into all the “ I can handle you” “Jimin hyung can handle me” talk. As someone who loves a lot of mlm ships (and is gay myself) I tend to avoid mlm shippers in a fandom because why are MOST of them so insufferable? Every mlm shipper I see online does at least one of these things.

• Oversexualizes the fuck out of both characters even if one or both is underaged.

• Make 🍇 jokes about the two

• makes nsfw art with questionable or no consent (dare i say the Aletyler video is questionable consent??)

• literally refuses to acknowledge the characters outside of the ship

• mischaracterize the fuck out of both of them, following a ton of gay stereotypes

• misogyny

• pretty much make the fem love interest or even a non love interest an abusive partner, have some obsessed one sided thing for the character, or just in any other way be used as the antagonist for an mlm plot (Sakura and sasunaru/narusasu from Naruto for example)

• will genderbend one character to make it straight

• they’ll hc one as transmasc but then make them look super feminine and girly and idkdkk that or they’ll just use it to sexualize them and/or make mpreg

It bothers me because a lot of these ships are so great but the shippers can be like THAT and it’s just annoying

I am glad you said something I was going tomorrow say something similar this afternoon. Cirie is not a bad player but her game is not what her fans are making it out to be. She is not even the one keeping herself off the block this week. Where is the mist they mentioned? It is lacklustre and not the slam dunk win they are trying to sell.

Agreed. All season I’ve wanted to see more from her and it just kind of went no where. She’s good at repositioning herself and has laid low post Izzy and Jared but at the same time, she became less of a threat to the house without them so they overlook her anyway. But it’s like… of course they’re overlooking her with two duos right there. So can we really credit that as a move or as the nature of the house rn?

I think my issue is that I don’t mind a passive player in bb but at some point there has to be something else we (everyone in the house and us as the audience) can point to and say “that’s was a great move that benefited her game!” And I don’t think I’ve personally seen that from her so I’d love to hear her talk more about it. If she makes it to final two I think her answers and speech could provide some clarity.

When I think of the first half of this game, she had all the control and fumbled it by targeting people that could’ve shielded her core three and gave it up on a whim. Which was fun to watch but it ended up biting her in the butt now. She did recover Felicia but planting the seeds against her so early and almost out of nowhere was.. an unnecessary choice. It’s a miracle that she got her back on her side.

I just can’t call her a good player when she came in with a huge advantage of having Jared there (which became a huge disadvantage and was frustrating to watch,) had a super fan willing to die on the cross for her (completely unintentional,) and made a bunch of messy alliances just for it to get out (moves she had complete control over).

This house is full of messy gameplay and full of people that can’t lie or keep secret for more than five seconds. She can, so she has that going for her and outwardly it seems more impressive.

It’s like when a queen from drag race goes on all stars and I didn’t watch their season so I just.. have nothing to go on until I see how well they do or don’t do on the current season. That’s the camp I land in with Cirie. I don’t doubt that she’s a god tier survivor player but that doesn’t and hasn’t guaranteed that she’s also a great bb player and she doesn’t have to be. I feel like a lot of her fans can’t take her bb game for face value and admit that’s it’s just fine. Also the stan wars this season are insufferable so some of that plays into how I feel about her just like the people that don’t like Cory & America bc of the shippers.

But overall Idk if complaining about it is me just being over this season or if I’m harping on shit that doesn’t matter but it’s day fucking whatever of this long ass season and I desperately hope we get a good winner out of this cast bc it has to be worth it or Mr. CBS is gonna get it.

Jilypad Week 2023

Day 1

When and Why did you begin to Ship Jilypad?  What makes you Ship it? Basically, just gush on this ship.

I think Jilypad has sneaked up on me this year without me noticing, until I just suddenly realised I actually like the idea of Lily, James and Sirius together. Mostly I blame the Prongsfoot discord and the amazing writers who have written some really good microfics about them, which then opened my eyes to these three. :D

I originally started as a Jily shipper a long time ago when I first read the books, which is still so random because there was not much information about their characters (only the first four books had come out back then). Then I beta-read a long Prongsfoot fic that my friend wrote and it altered my brain chemistry, because I switched to shipping Prongsfoot, completely forgetting about Jily. I still think Jily on its own doesn’t do it for me anymore mostly because James needs Sirius in his life (and vice versa) and I don’t see how Lily would get much out of being with someone who’s clearly in love with his best friend. She deserves better than that.

BUT in a universe where the three of them are together they really are unstoppable (everyone else not understanding their relationship and them not giving a damn but being an unhinged trio...love it!). I think James is happier when he doesn't have to choose between Lily and Sirius, Lily is a lucky woman to have two insufferably arrogant but amazingly witty, smart, loving, loyal, courageous and gorgeous men instead of one in her life, and Sirius gets all the love he deserves from not just one but two people. (Let's face it, his happiness is determined by whether he can have James in his life, but with Lily in it as well makes it all the more better. Plus, a happy James makes Sirius happy.) The three of them are also the best parents for Harry. <3

The relationship between Lily and Sirius is something I haven’t explored much but I think it’s a cute idea of them crushing on each other as much as on James. All of their dynamics are so interesting to explore, and I’m only just at the beginning of this journey. :)

I don’t want to say people's real names in this post because I don’t know them personally and I don’t want to get in trouble and to put it clearly: THESE ARE MY OPINIONS AND YOU CAN HAVE DIFFERENT ONES AND THAT’S OKAY! 

Elena for the most part, is a victim of her circumstances. She is a bit annoying but for most of the show she is a teen who has lost a lot of her family. But I completely understand that fans don’t like her because when I was watching the show for the first time, I didn’t like her either (and I still really don’t). 

I don’t love Kol like a lot of the fandom does. It’s mostly because his actor doesn’t seem like a good person and I cannot really separate the character from the actor. Also, I find Kol a bit too whiny for my liking, but I get why people like him so much.

Alaric is creepy and becomes a worse person the longer he is on screen. Especially when Caroline was having the twins and that whole thing was going on. Also the few first seasons of Legacies that I watched, I found him just insufferable. It doesn’t help that the actor seems to be quite a horrible person in real life. 

Stelena is better. I’m in no way a shipper but Stefan and Elena made a better couple (or at least a bit healthier one). I also find Damon really creepy towards the main girls in the first few seasons. Damon was turned when he was 24ish which means that he was basically hitting on 16-17 year-old girls. (Also, he was a dick to Bonnie.) 

All of the older vampires are queer in some way. I really believe that especially the Mikaelson siblings are bi/pan/stuff like that, because when you are literally thousand years old, you are fucking everyone regardless of gender. 

I hate the last two seasons of the Originals. I feel like Hollow was full of wasted potential and the characters felt really different. It really feels like season five was just for rushing to the end so they could make Legacies, so it felt that nothing meant anything. Also, I really disliked Hope in season 5 which made me not really excited about Legacies.

Also, I hated the ending of the Originals. I understand that we were never getting a happy ending and that’s fine but the ending (and the whole last season) was such a mess. It felt like the writers were just trying to pile as much trauma for Hope as possible. 

Season 2 is the best season of TVD and season 3 is the best season of The Originals. You might see something common with these two seasons (Elijah and Klaus) and I will not feel bad about it. Elijah really shines in both of the seasons and in general both of them are really fun. 

Legacies ruined the universe for me for a long time. I tried to like the show, I really really tried, but I hated what they did with the universe and for a while I couldn’t enjoy the TVDU at all. Them changing the magic makes me so angry and all these new supernatural creatures just popping up every episode got me so confused and lost with the style of the show. I stopped watching after two-ish seasons and what I have read about the show later on, it didn’t seem great. 

This isn’t really unpopular but the mistreatment of people of color off and on screen is insane. But it's good that a lot of the fandom sees that and calls out the problematic behavior that the creators have shown. Some of the choices made by the creators are awful and I hope the people affected by those decisions have been able to heal.

Hi, a 'BT' here! (Although I also happily ship buddie too because multishipping is so valid!) I come in peace and just looking for some discourse if that's okay? I saw the ask in regard to apparently BTs are saying that all the focus on rg means he's leaving? I haven't seen anyone say that on either side so a strange one huh!

But it was more your comments in terms of pushing for Tommy to replace Eddie as lead when Ravi is right there and I just wanna say I agree! And I have seen many bucktommy shippers including myself pushing for Ravi to be main cast. He absolutely should be and deserves it and is an absolute darling angel and I love what he brings to the whole dynamic!

My biggest hope for Tommy is for his to be recurring much like Karen! Speaking of, there's another character I'd love to be main cast and who I think is ahead of the queue in front of Tommy to be main cast. Heck I'd love if all of them got to be main cast but, as much as I love bucktommy, I definitely can see there's an order to who should be main cast and don't want any 'queue jumping'

One other thing I want to out out there as food for thought, is that on both sides I see a lot of discourse thrown out through anonymous asks of 'oh the bts are saying this' or 'the buddies said this ridiculous thing!' And something I would love both sides to seriously consider is... did they really? Or are there just a few people out there who feed on the chaos that it all brings and will send out anon asks that they know will increase this 'fandom war'and pretend they are kn the other side when doing so just to get a reaction and give ammunition to 'their' side to make it seem like one side is delusional and the other side isn't?

Tldr I just wish we all got along and stopped taking messages intended to stir up hate as gospel.

I’m trying this again without putting my foot in my mouth and underplaying the bullying and harassment BoBs have been doing, which I’m sorry for doing as I’m sure some people who saw my last post have had that from them directly.

I need to get my point off my chest though because it’s been driving me wild for weeks. I keep seeing buddies say “I can’t wait for bucktommy bones so Tommy and their fans are both gone and we can stop talking about them”. And like. They’ll never stop? They’ll use Tommy (and all bucktommy shippers) as a punching bag. They’ll keep harassing Lou. They’ll keep asking when buddie will be canon. They won’t ever stop. If buck and Tommy break up (and big if because the general audience reception to them was positive from what I’ve seen) they’ll be like “hah! Gotcha” and be insufferable. They’ll be on their deathbeds going “fuck Tommy kinard!”. Just like how they still say it about Taylor, how they still write fics making Ana a villain, how they write fics about Chimney and Maddie being horrible horrible people so buck can run into eddies arms in the aftermath. Hey there! I love that you love TVD and Delena too. I really enjoyed season three (s2-4 are the best seasons in my opinion). I agree that the Mikaelsons made s3 that much more enjoyable. Were you drawn to any other ships and characters on the show? Did you ever watch the Originals?

I’m also a big big Caroline fan! As well as most of the Mikaelsons. Klaus is my favorite character overall from the franchise, because yes I did watch the originals. Which was FANTASTIC… until it wasn’t. S5 and parts of S4 I am looking at you.

I’m a bit of a multi shipper with some of the rest of the tvd ships. I think Klaroline has the most chemistry and iconic scenes and should have been endgame with the way things played out when they brought her into the originals. What was even the point to have them reconnect with him finally as a more decent person and then just kill him off? However, I even enjoyed forwood before I decided Tyler was just too insufferable. I also like steroline and klamille. Kolvina obviously!!! And I liked haylijah until they got a bit boring for me.
