When do u think dean n cas wouldve become canon if the spn writers weren't like that

assuming all other storylines up to that point had stayed the same, i really do think human!cas in season 9 would have been the perfect time for them to go canon. even though i don’t like season 7 i think dean grieving cas was vital to taking their relationship from its early seasons “friendship with massive sexual tension” vibes to a full-blown romance. dean had to lose cas for a long time, then kind of get him back but not really, then actually get him back in order to realize how much cas meant to him. plus purgatory, as a place of pure id, is the perfect environment for dean “repression boy” winchester to admit to himself that his feelings for cas are romantic.

so then season 8 is just dean pining but thinking he can never have cas because cas is an angel and can’t feel that way for him, which leads perfectly into the finale twist of the angels falling from heaven and cas becoming human.

next season cas is human and experiencing the intensity of human emotion for the first time while also realizing that some of these feelings that he’s only now able to put a name to aren’t actually new, namely the way he feels for dean, who (in this universe where the spn writers are normal about gay people) does not kick him out of the bunker and is having an internal crisis about the fact that his whole dilemma/excuse for not being with cas has gone out the window. in this au cas stays human for much longer so the writers can draw out the will-they-or-won’t-they, and then in the penultimate episode of the season they finally get together but immediately afterwards they learn of a way for cas to get his grace back. it’s probably risky and/or would necessitate him returning to heaven for a while because they need to up the drama and emotional stakes heading into the season finale. idk whether or not cas ends up actually getting his grace back in this alternate s9 finale but either way things ultimately work out for him and dean—either he stays human and they get to spent season 10 navigating their new relationship+the fact that cas chose dean over his grace, or he gets his grace back but he and dean promise to return to each other as soon as the coma/heaven trip/whatever is done, which probably happens in like the midseason finale of season 10.

that being said, even though i know it only worked out this way because this show wanted to queerbait to the bitter end, i do really like dean and cas going canon at the very end of the series, coinciding with the defeat of chuck/them breaking free from the writers who refused to let them be together for so long. love conquers all including the line between fiction and reality. also i wouldn’t trade the shrieking hysterical joy of november 5th for anything in the world.

i’ve only seen up to about halfway through season 9 so it’s possible i would have a different answer if i’d actually seen the entire show lmao

i am the Spanish anon again and yeah you’re SO right. that actually made me feel better. i literally grew up watching spn so having the ending... ruined for me and my family, i guess, really sucked. but also i disagree that it isn’t explicitly romantic. I think it was undeniably romantic and that just makes it worse.

Like I keep thinking ‘M*sha had to be involved in this decision’. it just reeks of him and his clout chasing lmao. Like... they did use the word for brother but it was used in a more nicknamey way? I’d watch it right now to see the exact phrasing because it was probably the sentence structure, but i don’t wanna see it again until i get there in rewatching with my friend.

I don’t know man it just genuinely upsets me because this show was very important to me growing up? the relationship between the family and stuff, the confession from 15.18 changes just the entire context of the show and then the Spanish dub makes hellers correct. i hate to give them credit but it makes their analysis and crackpot theories correct :(

the scene with Sam and Dean was thank god more emotionally touching than the Cass confession. i dont ship wincest at all (no hate to people who do!) but it makes sense to use te amo for siblings in that scenario because... like normally you’d use te quiero but amo is used in very emotional scenarios like weddings, deathbeds. i have said ‘te amo’ to family members who were very sick or dying in any other situation i would say te quiero

this just makes Cass so much worse. they COULD have had him say something like ‘te quiero mucho, lo siento y gracias por tu carino’. that would make perfect sense and be just as emotionally touching as the original scene. the way the confession is said and structured it just... i don’t know it’s awful. they CHOSE not to use ‘quiero’ they chose to erase the relationship between the brothers in favor of some fetish ship.

I saw another post saying they couldn’t use the platonic love because it would translate to Spanish audiences as “I care about you.” I really appreciate everyone trying to explain the Spanish dub but I’ve seen that explanation multiple times and it just... really takes away the fault from the hellers and M*sha himself. because ‘te quiero’ was like a neon sign flashing in the background it was the ONLY phrasing that would have made sense but the freaks gaslighted everyone into deciding otherwise.

This is so long I’m sorry 😭. it just pisses me off. normally i let people ship whatever they want but with destihellers, they screamed to everyone about their ship and now Hispanic watchers will think dean was ‘in love’ with Cass. again ruining the integrity of the show ESPECIALLY for non Americans!!!

I'm sorry that you feel like it was ruined for you.

In English, it feels so intentionally ambiguous because Cas says "I love you" and not "I am in love with you". It would be very easy to include that one word and remove all ambiguity in what he meant and yet Berens chose not to, trying to win over the hellers - but not piss off the other side too bad. I honestly cannot speak as to what the implications of the scene as a whole are and the nuances in Spanish. (I'll address the script conspiracies stuff in another response since this is so long already.)

At the end of the day, I absolutely believe Berens and Misha pandered to the hellers on purpose and that does annoy me, because heller theories were stupid and they were assholes for years so rewarding them for twitter follows and shelling cheap merch kinda disgusts me. Misha lies like a rug, so it's hard to know to what extent it's true - but he did say that not only did he pitch the idea of Cas declaring love for Dean and dying, he suggested he actively went behind Jensen's back to pitch it in secret to Berens months in advance.

However I also gave up on Castiel being a decent character years ago, and at the very most, the scene is a one sided declaration of romantic love that Dean doesn't reciprocate. So it doesn't bug me nearly so much as it does people who were still fans of canon Castiel and hate how it ruins every single bit of his learning to understand free will and caring about the world - you know actual character development - to make it all about stalking Dean.

How I feel about this character

I can’t believe she’s from spn bc hello?????? How is she so great. I think I went off about her once about how basically I kept expecting spn to undermine her powers with new characters showing up etc. But they didn’t and she’s like.... she’s the most powerful witch. She survived Lucifer twice. She brought HERSELF back from the dead. She’s QUEEN of Hell.

She’s so bitchy and even when she’s TFW’s friend she doesn’t suddenly become super soft or anything.

She’s introduced by drinking tea with dead people stuck on her ceiling. I am in love with her. I want her to be my mom.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

I don’t think I ship her romantically with anyone tbh?? None of the people she’s been set up with in canon bc she’s arospec lesbian actually. Oscar was mistaking being grateful with romantic love ; Lucifer was worshipping power and rebellion ; Gabriel was about sex ; Ketch was being bored by the end of the world. I’ve heard some people ship Rowena with Sam but Sam is her apprentice I can’t see it at all. 

BUT I’ve been introduced to Rowena/Mary and honestly I’m listening very closely!!! I love the potential of it. It’s not smth I ship like... strongly. But it’s the ship with Rowena that I enjoy the best, and tbh the only ship with Rowena I enjoy actually! Rowena is girlboss4girlboss!!

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I’m gonna say Rowena & Jack’s dynamic. She sees him and goes “ok you are my nephew now” and she IS. She’s his aunt!!!!

I loved what they did with Sam getting into magic and the Lucifer thing. And I love Rowena & Dean dynamic bc she is the mother of his ex and it’s funny. And I love Rowenna & Cas dynamic I want more of that!!

But what makes me feel the most was truly the way Rowena handled Jack after his meltdown. No shade to Mary but she truly handled the autistic kid very very badly. Whereas Rowena respected his space, heard him out, stayed calm, all while slowly pushing him into talking to TFW bc that was the thing to do in this situation. And ig a lot of it was intended as like... Rowena realizing Jack’s power and not wanting to risk dying?

But I truly see it as Rowena caring for Jack bc she can see he’s just a boy, and being able to... see that forcing his hand won’t work at all with Jack. Like she sees the kid, but she sees the person, and each person has their own way to react to things. She’s not infantillizing him in the “I know best listen to me” way.

And maybe it reminds her of Fergus and how bad a mother she was, and here it’s a way for her to.. not to make it up, but to do better. I think Rowena would be a good mother actually - if she had a kid because she wanted to, and now that she’s learned love isn’t weakness.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I have no idea what would be unpopular lmao. I haven’t seen Rowena posts which pissed me off (yet?). I just think she’s perfect and never did anything wrong and the Rowena & Crowley dynamic is truly one family dynamic spn nailed. When she appeared I was like “omg boring the evil mother another redhead blablabla” but joke’s on me!!!!!!

Her makeups & outfits are always so epic honestly Rowena....... I wanna be your apprentice teach me the girlboss ways. If I was a demon in Hell and Rowena was queen? I’d prob have a fling with her and she’d break my heart and I’d thank her.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I don’t have specific things bc honestly the fact she survived all the show is already like.... everything I could have asked for. Especially with her queen of Hell ending.

However what I want is: a girlboss evil team spin off. Rowena & Ruby & Meg & Bela (as a demon by now).

It’s wayward sisters but with these extremelly morally grey characters. They kill abusers but not only. They’re manipulating people to get what they want. They mostly just wanna survive ; it’s fight or flight, not revenge. They drink wine and paint each other nails and gossip about hunters. It’s not a “life was a bitch with me so I’m gonna be a bitch”. It’s more a “idc about anything but helping myself bc you only have yourself in this life”. But then they have each other <3 And idk there’s some plot about Hell or hunters or whatever and they see Mary often I think Mary would join the team eventually.

Belphegor is a regular side character bc I love him and I also think Rowena would make him her nephew in 0.2sec. Some others can also appear from time to time but it’s not their show it’s about evil-ish sapphics.

What do you want out of the ending for spn?

can i answer this super thoughtfully but with actually NO coherent thoughts because i’m honestly so afraid of losing supernatural cause i can’t actually remember my life without it?? so here it goes 

so, overall i wanna feel happy. satisfied. content. peaceful. i wanna know that even though i won’t see them next thursday i know these characters are going to be alright, and together, and hopefully happy. you know, my perfect ending, the ending of my dreams, way before chuck revelead he was the big villain was that he would actually give sam and dean immortality since they are the protectors of the earth therefore they would live forever along with cas (and jack even tho jack didnt exist back then). idk that ending gave me hope that they would always be there. that anytime i would close my eyes, sam and dean would be there. that’s always going to be my perfect ending. but continuing

first, sam and dean. they are my favorite everything, my favorite characters, my favorite brotp, my favorite irl actors, they are everything to me and i cannot stand a ending where they would be separated. even though I LOVE s4, s9, s8 just the thought of them being apart on that seasons made me unhappy and i couldn’t live with a ending where they are indeed separated. so, some theories say that they could die and go to heaven, and even though i’m not prepared to see them die for real this time, them going to  their heaven would be so beautiful. or if they retire or something, became full men of letters would also be emotional, or just a ending where we know they are going to be hunting next week.  i don’t know just the thought of saying goodbye makes me cry. they deserve the best. they deseved a soft epilogue.

I WANT CAS BACK AND I WANT DEANCAS CANON. i can’t even elaborate much of that because we all know and we kind don’t what’s going on if deancas these past weeks it’s such highs and lows loll. if they reunite in heaven and dean tells cas ily too i’d be so happy because i really cant stand the thought of having already seen his last scene and also deancas last scene. like maybe cas’s soul goes to heaven and he waits for sam and dean there at their heaven?? and deancas meet?? and sam and cas get to see each other again?? and tfw is reunited?? hopefully so.i just would like to say that no one will ever convince me that dean wasnt in love with cas.

The doorbell rings. It is just Cas, in jeans and a button-up shirt with sleeves rolled up his forearms. Dean’s heart pounds and he goes to his knees on instinct, eyes on the floor.

“Hello, sweetheart."

i returned to the world of bdsm aus (and sex work) and had a great time! dean’s not the kind of sub everyone is looking for, but he’s the perfect sub for cas. <3

He realizes that this is her, trying to show up in a physical form, step out of the phone.

He doesn’t know where to look, but then his confusion wanes when a butterfly shows up, fluttering towards him. It lands near his phone, skitters a bit, flaps its wings.

“Lucy?” he asks, transfixed on the butterfly. Its orange wings are bright under the sunlight.

I THOUGHT I’D TRY SMALL, FOR MY FIRST TRIAL.

The perks of being a rarepair writer is that the only people who read my fics are the ones actively looking for content!!! And they can’t complain about my work because No One Else Is Writing For It!!!!!!

hey mandy! i know you play the sims and since there's a sale going on for all the packs, I was wondering which ones you would recommend out of the the expansion packs and the game packs.

Ooh yeah! I’m actually on a Sims binge currently lol. (Still working on my SPN themed world, which is taking forever)  

I’d totally recommend getting a bundle! You can choose one expansion, gamepack and stuff pack for about $50 or so bucks. I’m not sure what the discount is for bundles but when I got one last year it was like $50 (and the sale wasn’t as discounted as it is now so it might be lower idk)  I’m gonna write em all down since I’m not sure which ones you have. I’ve crossed out what I don’t have and bolded my favorites. 

EXPANSIONS

Get to Work - There’s only 3 jobs in this pack and they’re a rather...lacking. Once you do the doctor/police/science career its just repetitive. One thing I love about this pack is being able to own a retail store similar to the Sims 2 Open for Business. 

Get Together - The best part about this pack is the large world and able to create clubs which is really neat. 

City Living - APARTMENTS! ROOFTOP APARTMENTS! Do I need to say more? 

Cats & Dogs - The dog & cat CAS is the best we’ve seen so far IMO. I occasionally use this pack but caring for a dog/cat with a full family gets crazy sometimes lol. 

Seasons - The very best pack all Sims games have. 10/10 

Get Famous - I love playing a celebrity Sim but the downside to this pack is the world is pretty small. 

GAMEPACKS

These are the lowest discount I’ve seen, $11.99 for a gamepack is a steal especially for a few of them. 

Outdoor Retreat - Vacation! I sometimes take my Sims here. I use the build mode objects a lot. 

Spa Day - If you like spas, or just another lot type for variety then this is the pack for you!

Dine Out - I love restaurants. Being able to build them and run them is fun. What’s not so fun is the chaos that happens when actually dining out. 

Vampires - I’ve never played with vampires in the Sims before but I bought this pack on sale just to make Benny and the Alpha Vamp actual vampires LMAO. 

Parenthood - Its impossible to not have this pack if you play with families. 

Jungle Adventure - I don’t have this pack yet but I keep thinking of buying it just for the plants lol.  

StrangerVille - I just bought this pack so I haven’t played it yet but I love the desert world! Also a throwback to TS2 Strangetown 

Above all else, LGR on Youtube has the best review videos for packs. I’ve used his reviews since the Sims 3 to determine to get a pack or not.

Kids Room Stuff - Never bought this because the build mode objects don’t interest me 

Backyard Stuff - I just bought this pack but I’ve been wanting it for a while. I mainly buy stuff packs for build mode objects since I build a lot 

Vintage Glamour Stuff - Also got this one from a bundle. 

Bowling Night Stuff

Fitness Stuff - I bought this when it was on sale for $5 and the best thing about is the earbuds, so your Sim (and you!) can listen to music wherever they go. The only downside to that is you have to wait to get them via a random opportunity 

Toddler Stuff - Toddler in TS4 are the best out of the other games but IMO, I’d rather download toddler CC. Oh and you get 5 minute in a low quality ball pit that it comes with it too. (Didja get the oldschool tumblr reference? lol) 

Laundry Day Stuff - This was actually a community chosen pack! And its the best one IMO. Yep, make your Sims do boring chores like Laundry. But it adds realism to the game! And I love the build mode objects. 

My First Pet Stuff - Go donate $6 to a charity instead honestly. This is literal DLC for (Cats&Dogs) DLC. -100 / 10

from what point in your characters canon are they taken from?

He’s taken from current canon, so his latest memory would be the zombies(?) closing in on him, Dean, and Sam, after Chuck killed Jack and released the spirits from Hell. I’m saying that he was brought to this universe right as the zombies closed in, so that would be his very last memory, since we don’t know what’s going to happen from there, yet xD He’s pretty mad at Sam and Dean for their treatment of Jack, but still loves them to pieces. 

what are the basics of their ‘new lives’?

He was a bit of a lone wolf, probably had a few close friends who would have had to be patient with him, and he mostly just remembers a peaceful life. He worked as a clerk at a gas station, and he really enjoyed it. He remembers traveling a lot, enjoying and admiring the world. Basically, it was all just very peaceful and happy -- it’s what he deserves, god damn it! xD 

I was torn on whether to say that he was religious or not. Since he rebelled against Heaven, and God is kind of a dead beat dad/writer in spn, I decided to go with saying that he believed in something ‘bigger’, but not that he practices a specific religion. 

what were they promised upon arrival in woodshore, and what was their reaction to receiving it?

His grace. I chose this because I think it makes sense that he would have been human in this universe until now, and it would be the perfect thing to lure him here, as he would have felt like something was ‘missing’. However, curiosity would have been what brought him here more than his grace, since he would have no memory of being an angel and would just want to know wtf was going on xD

when they arrived in woodshore and received what was taken of them, did they gain any memories of their past? if so, what memories do they have?

Yes! I think he’d have a lot of his memories back but that they’d be fuzzy. He’s lived a very long time, so I imagine it would be overwhelming and would come back in pieces.

QUESTIONS

What is your special talent/skill as a roleplayer? Description. I like to have my characters show their emotions through their actions or how they carry themselves, in comparison to out-right saying it. Of course there’s times where the dialogue needs that, which is fine. But I like to spend my time describing how my character is behaving and reacting to the thread, or setting the scene with description as a whole. It’s a problem, sometimes x) 

What is your favorite type of roleplay genre, and why? I really enjoy hurt/comfort plots, but also friendships. I like to explore the flaws and caveats of our characters and bring them into the limelight, make it emphasized that they are far from perfect and there’s still things to improve upon. I think it’s nice to try and have characters help each other when their flaws come to the surface. 

Why did you pick your muse? I wanted to try something different and supernatural genre is my gig. I try to make it seem “realistic” in the sense that angels aren’t just humans with wings on their backs or halo-esque crowns on their heads. They can be atypical in appearance and monsters in how they’re viewed. I originally had my character in just his standard/true form, seen on my blog’s background. It’s fun playing a weird creature with eyes on his wings and scales along his arms/legs as well as stomach. 

If you could write any other muse - but know you don’t have the muse for him/her - who would it be? Uhhh. I’d have to go with some SPN muses like Garth or Sheriff Donna. MCU wise, I’d gotta say Foggy Nelson, Connie, Misty Knight, Pietro, and maybe Killmonger? 

What is one thing you think you need to work on for a partner? Activity, I guess? I have depression and been diagnosed with severely low vitamin D twice this year, so that hinders on my ability to pump the drafts out and be a consistent presence on here. I’m making an effort to be better about it, plus high doses of the D is somewhat helping. Californian native moving up to Oregon is like taking a plant and putting it in a dark, barely lit cave. x) 

What would be your warning label to other roleplayers? I’m awkward at talking but I love to communicate more with you muns! Also, I may get inspired to make art of our characters based upon threads or memes.

boy oh BOY wrap up time:

1. Ok Ellen, Jo, Ash and the Roadhouse, giving bits to the hunter world, adding incredibly compelling characters, holy fuck I AM HERE FOR IT. Like obviously I knew the Roadhouse was a Thing, but I didn’t expect how much I’d love it in concept as well as practice. I love Ellen and Jo, and that they’re gonna come back, I love Ash, just SO GOOD all around

2. the clown lore? The mystery was much better done this time around, there were cool lore elements(and misdirection) AND there were interesting ways to solve the problems(the brass pipes, the smoke, etc). The mystery aspect of this show is really coming into it I’m so excited.

3. Ok so obviously Sam and Dean are grieving in the not grieving ways they’re prone, but I think I can now kinda put something together. Just because we understand John’s motives, that doesn’t excuse his actions. And his actions are that he was a bad father, and it’s a bit too little too late. Especially taking into account the later seasons and how much it seems to have fucked up Dean specifically. I think we understand where he comes from, but he’s not supposed to be the Hero, nor is he, at all. One good action does not redeem a man. Which is funny, because this would generally make him a hero-type in a lot of similar media(notably pirates of the Caribbean, which is what I’m quoting) I feel like everything before and after that moment undo it. Let’s stick with grey for now, that seems safe.

4. I’m very excited to see where these characters go. Although it’s also funny to me that I forgot Jess existed because damn did they not mention her at all

Spn: Selfless Sam Winchester would be your match. You’ d just blow him away with how kind you are. Sam’s kind no doubt about that– but you put even him to shame and he’d love that to no end (dean pretends to be sickened and nocuous  sometime at all the “good two shoes” in you but he’s just jealous and awed in reality)  Sam would tell you to no end how good your work was (whether it be a piece of art or writing)  and be majorly supportive, seeing or reading whatever you do. the idea of you hunting would scare the crap out of him knowing you’ve the 0 sense of self preservation that you do, he knows  that the second you have a chance you’d sacrifice yourself and he couldn’t;t bear that so he restricts you to research. 

Doctor who: I’m going to say…Ten. Your selflessness would have been what got his attention and made him take you along In  the tardis. He understands having no self preservation given the life he leads but it scares the hell out of him sometimes and there have definitely been a few arguments over it…but at the end of the day there’s no one else he’d rather be traveling with. you’re the perfect companion and he doesn’t want you to leave– to have to say good bye to you and honestly, neither to you.

She is flirty and tease-y, but she doesn’t grope them. And for her it’s a way to distract herself from the fear of being monster bait very soon.
