03, STORYLINE. you finally announce a small tour, you would be traveling to many cities to perform songs off of your new album. all of your fans are thrilled to hear this, eager for the tickets to go on sale. your management team decides to hire a photographer to capture professional photos and memories throughout the tour, this job happens to be offered to the one and only matthew sturniolo, who eagerly accepts the job.

Tinder in real life ( Harry Lewis x Reader)

Summary: You work as an influencer when you wake up to a call from your manager. She tells you about a chance to be on a video about tinder-in-real-life where you could raise your visibility and get more followers. You take the offer up and end up in a Sidemen video where you get to meet a certain shy, blond-haired boy who seems to have a liking to you.

Your phone rang somewhere.

”Ughhhh” you groan as you reach for your buzzing phone on your bed. You pat empty spots a couple times because you cant be bothered to open your eyes this early getting more irritated by the second when your hand cant find your phone. 

brr-

”Hello?” You answered groggily.

”Rise and shine girl, i got u a job offer!” It was your manager.

”This early? Give me like 2 more hours n call me again, i cant think rn”

”No, i need to give a response now if youre in or not”

”Ughh fine, okay what is it?”

”They cant disclose much, but its a tinder-in-real-life type of video and they’re getting a bunch of girls on it”

”Girl what.”

”It's a good way to raise your following! get your name out there, they get tens of millions of views every video, i really think you should do this”

”Hmmm alright when is it?”

You hung up on your manager, shes great at her job but sometimes shes a bit too hyper. You throw your phone away and pull the covers further over your head.

It's been about a month and you’ve been getting more anxious every passing day about this video you promised to be in. It is tomorrow and you don’t feel prepared at all. You would need to put on your best smile and make yourself entertaining and likable so you could get as many people to follow you after the video was posted. Your biggest fear was that you’d say the wrong thing or completely embarrass yourself in front of millions and millions of people. 

You walk into the studio and step into a line of beautiful girls. You knew you were pretty but these people were all breathtaking. The line went by fast because it was just a security and id check and after you were guided into a room to wait. You went on your phone to pass the time while some of the girls were squeaking about getting to meet "The Sidemen".

Soon it was your turn. Hands sweating you left the waiting room and walked over to where the tape was placed for you to stand on. You saw a line of about ten guys, some chatting amidst themselves and some giving you awkward smiles. Infront of you there was a cardboard frame with yes and no stickers at the bottom representing tinder. 

You noticed you were fiddling with your ring and made a mental note to try and not look so nervous. “Okay, first introduce yourself, say your name, age and where you’re from” yelled someone from the camera crew.

You took a second to calm your nerves. “Hi, I’m y/n, I am 21 years old and I’m from Brighton!” You smiled at the guy ahead of you. 

He was tall and confident. “Hi, I'm Simon, I’m 27 and I bet I could touch your belly button from the inside!” You saw him cringe at himself.

“Eughh” was heard from the herd of men. “You winced when you said that, I don't even think you wanted to say that” you laughed. “I know, '' he said as you guided him to the left with your hand. Time went on and you kept swiping people based on their lines. You were nearly halfway done and you were having the time of your life.

Next up walked a cute blonde boy who seemed even more nervous than you, if that was possible. He was holding a notebook with both hands where he had scribbled in earlier, probably trying to come up with good pickup lines. 

“Hello, im harry I’m 23.. uhh”

He glanced at his notebook

“Girl you got more legs than a bucket of chicken”

You couldn’t help but giggle at the fact that he had written that down, and thought it was good. 

Every guy laughed while he stood there sending you an awkward smile, fiddling with his notebook. He was having a hard time keeping eye-contact since he was nervous but he tried his best. Something about him made you unable to stop smiling.

“I liked that, plus you’re cute so…” you swiped him right. He did a little “hooray!” with his hands and walked up next to the guys you had said yes to.

After saying yes to Harry you kept sharing sneaky glances with him. Every time you looked over at him, he was already looking straight at you. You noticed he hadn’t stopped smiling since getting there.

Rest of the group went by quickly, lastly you gave a little recap on why you rejected the people you did and then you were on your way. While walking away you looked back one last time and gave Harry a smile checking him out. And he seemed like he was about to say something but decided not to. Shame.

You walked trough the waiting room, where there were only 4 more girls waiting for their turns, to where your jacket and bag were. You felt happy because you did well and it was over. You couldn’t wait to be able to see the video in a couple of weeks. Just as you were about to open the door to leave 

“Hey! y/n wait!” You were surprised he remembered your name

“Oh hi! did I leave something?”

“Just my number haha! uhh anyway..” He scratched the back of his neck holding his phone in his hand.

“..so yeah i was thinking maybe we could grab coffee sometime? Id like to get to know you more.. or i mean if you want that is.. so uhh”

“I would love to! Here” You took his phone and put your number in it. 

“Text me -

“Harry where the hell are you ? We have to wrap this up” 

You heard somebody yell

Harry looked at you and smiled. You nodded signaling that he should go. He jogged back over to the set looking back at you once more.

And there you were walking back inside your apartment smiling from ear to ear when your phone received a notification.

backstory .ᐟ ( tw: mentions of anxiety disorder, familial death )

minji, who 100% prefers the name mimi, is an.. interesting one! she first developed her ability when she was 7 years old. her parents do not have any abilities, and her ability is a direct descent of her grandmother, who was a famous scientist who did research on clones, and used her own ability to test the limits.

she was always a nervous child, but it only got worse after the death of her grandmother, who she was extremely close with. it happened when she was 6 years old, which is also when thoughts of her having an anxiety disorder manifested as rumours within her family. however, she was a bit too young to get diagnosed.

once her ability manifested, she felt herself spiralling with issues of identity, along with trying to figure out herself and what she wanted to do — who she wanted to be. besides her identity crisis she had ( & still has ) once a day, she’s a pretty happy and go-lucky person.

she grew up extremely interested in journalism, and with the help of her other abilities ( & annoying clones she could never control ), it was easy to find things out about people, and also discover her talent for reporting and writing. she was quick to join her school’s newspaper, and became the top columnist every year.

it’s pretty hard to control her abilities. her minor abilities manifested at different times: her first one at 10, and her second one at 16.

she was diagnosed with anxiety at 10 with the discovery of her 1st minor ability, and later diagnosed with adhd, which is a primary reason for her constantly being scattered and all over the place.

she found school to be appropriately challenging. she was always the academic weapon — the one everyone went to for tutoring or to ask for answers, and the one who was destined for greatness. a christiane amanpour. a journalist to bring change and report on the world and what was really going on. graduating a year early also helped with her thoughts of a successful future.

and then… she got accepted to harvard. it had been a rash decision — a slightly manic episode where she applied to the international school where she believed she would never get in. but she did, with a full-ride. and soon enough, she was a harvard student. and honestly, her time at harvard had been the best time of her life. she had graduated rather highly in her class, and was able to receive an entire master’s degree in only a year after receiving her bachelor’s degree — which leads her to now.

recently moved back to korea, she believed that finding a job would be pretty easy. she was a graduate of harvard with a master’s degree, and had a few notable internships under her belt. but what she hadn’t realised is that… becoming a reporter wasn’t easy when all anyone ever cared about was the aeternals.

if she wasn’t writing about the latest gossip about the aeternals, her columns got little-to-no attention. she wants to write something big, something that matters — not the egotistical heroes their society glorifies. but… no one else wants to read about that. so, with her degree somewhat thrown down the drain, she stays at silver line, hoping for her big break.

she took a waitressing job at hi-dine in order to help pay for her bills, and put out numerous ads for a roommate. she tries her best to keep her cloning a secret, as it is more of a nuisance than a beloved ability.

her favourite color is light pink & sage green. her favourite flowers are tulips. her favourite food is bingsu & any other sweet foods. her favourite drink is lemon water, or any other drinks with fruits in them. her favourite alcohol is blueberry wine. her favourite animals are foxes. her favourite song is hot to go by chappell roan. her favourite movie is the chronicles of narnia & coraline.

she is an ambivert at heart, but identifies more with her extroverted side. she is always happy to meet new people, but gets awkward once she hears their thoughts. she is kind to a fault, and sees the best in people. however, she is quick to drop those she feels have wronged her within reason. she may give second chances, but she won’t give a third one.

she is easily stressed, especially with her anxiety disorder, which causes her clones to appear, and she doesn’t really like them. they act more like sisters than clones, and will bother her or help her depending on their mood.

she is also very absent-minded at times and clumsy. she’s very expressive with her emotions and her face, and is always running around somewhere. she is typically a little late to things… but always tries her best to be on time! she gets lost easily as well, and can sometimes spoil things without even thinking of them ( think of tom holland always spoiling spiderman or marvel secrets ).

has an irrational fear of heights & bugs. they are her #1 opps.

abilities .ᐟ ( read the full description of her ABILITIES here .ᐟ )

this is a simple tl;dr of her powers as i have a page of a detailed explanation of her abilities. however, this will have enough information for you to be able to grasp them!

major ability — cloning: she can clone herself, pretty much! her clones are separate from her and have their own thoughts, feelings, and emotions. they are a bit like super detailed holograms, and usually can stay at most for 2-5 hours. she cannot control this, however, and is typically only able to manifest them when she’s stressed out.

minor ability #1 — supernatural precognition: basically, the ability to see the future. however, she can see anyone’s future within a 200-meter radius of her and can not know if it’s hers or someone else’s future unless they are shown in the vision she sees. she can also only see their future until the end of the day.

minor ability #2 — telepathy: she can hear other people’s thoughts, and in theory, speak to people with her mind. however, she has never been able to do that before. anyone within a 200-meter radius of her can hear her thoughts, and she can hear theirs. comes in handy for her job!

connections & plots .ᐟ

there’s a BUNCH of plot ideas floating in this big head of mine, and i am always down to plot something from scratch, but this is what i’m thinking of:

connections wise: best friends who grew apart ( mainly due to mimi moving for college ), neighbours who always forget her name, found family relationships, ex-best friends who hate each other, friendly rivalry, coworkers @ the herald she works with or rival reporters that don’t get along, hi-dine staff who also hate their jobs, ex-aeternal or almost aeternal who wants their spotlight but she would rather die than talk to them, regulars at hi-dine she loves & hates, etc!!

plot ideas just for fun && will be added to or changed when i can remember to do so:

mimi learns a really interesting secret about you and you’re trying to do everything in your power to keep her from writing about it.

but also, mimi learns a really devastating secret about you and is trying to keep it from you that she knows about it!!

it’s late and you come into hi-dine as the only customer and keep bothering her to chat but she needs the extra tips and plays therapist.

she has to interview you for her column and is really not looking forward to it bc she thinks you’re insufferable but you’re actually not as bad as she thought.

you have a bad experience with an aeternal and are trying to expose them with mimi’s help.

there’s workplace drama and you and mimi spend an entire manic, sleepless night trying to get down to the bottom of it.

instead of taking blockers for an important event, mimi accidentally takes a kicker without realising and can’t stop mass producing clones which makes her inconsolable and allows you to find her.

her clone gets out without her knowledge for a few hours and goes out with you, and you see mimi a few days after asking for another date. but she has absolutely no clue who you are.

mimi sees your future one day and is convinced something terrible is going to happen to you today, but she’s had the same vision for 2 months and is tired of it and decides to confront you for being so careless!!

a random child is dropped off at mimi’s door and she’s ready to become a mother until you ask her to return your niece/nephew to you.

mimi’s roommate is gone for the night and there’s a huge bug in her house she can’t get rid of and ends up practically tackling your muse to help.

graduated from the national university of idgafistan, with a doctorate's in idgafism and a minor’s in ijbolism. thats it, that’s all you need to know about her.

her life pre-apocalypse was pretty normal: grew up in a family of 3 with her dad and older brother. mom passed when she was young, and at mama's funeral, her grandma tells her she has shitty fate. she's literally 10 though and doesn't understand what gran's trying to say except she doesn't ever see the maternal side of her family ever again x

watched train to busan like right before the apocalypse started and decided she just wouldn't be built like gong yoo. did, and still does not have that much will to survive, but hey, she's still here!

same can't be said for her dad, who d*es in seoul qz because of a very mundane stroke. doesn't get his blood thinners on time... or at all, bc of the kdrt rationing it super strictly. her brother turns angry at the world, and somewhere in their 5 stages of grief, they make the move to the busan qz. his joining the fireflies is the natural next step for someone so full of anger towards the kdrt.

all the unprocessed grief really makes one a great member of the resistance, and he does well within the ranks of the fireflies. he goes on every mission he can, and chaeyun knows he's gone too. his body never comes back somewhere between the 10th and 20th mission. L + ratio + skill issue!

eyes turn to her, then, to carry on his legacy. problem is, she just... doesn't want to. she's happy chilling in the qz, being a silly little 21-year-old teenage girl.

a demented old lady accosts her randomly. the same shit's spouted, but this time w a twist! she's got shit astrological fate that kills the people around her. the lady's family pulls her away and apologises for her, but it lingers in the back of chaeyun's mind.

* she entertains the idea a little more than she should, and thinks everyone around her in the qz might die. has nothing more to lose (besides a delusionship over someone who barely looks her way) and if she does something useful in div4, then maybe she deserves to live.

venting some stuff

growing up i was always told i was so mature for my age (like most kids are i think) and i would get so frustrated bc the people i got along best with WERE adults. id sit there and listen to my older cousins go back and forth in these airtight dialogues packed to the brim with references and inside jokes and i could understand exactly what they were saying but u just wasnt experienced enough to contribute. i didnt have the language to express myself or enough experience to HAVE a self. juggling was the one thing that made me feel like i was actually kind of equal with people older than me because i was performing with them. there was hope that i could keep at it and really be someone worth the respect of other performers. my brother and i are 19 years apart and his juggling partner was right in between us in age. for the short time i knew him, he was my brother and he created a perfect generational step ladder between the 3 of us. they were both adults so they did all the performing together, but sometimes i was involved and he gave me the hope that truly being a part of the act wasnt too far off for me. one day id be old enough to be someone and id be able to express myself to him. id be able to tell him i loved him. id finally be something more than a prop. he made it all so fucking achievable and then he was dead. no warning, no lead up, just a hospital phone call a few hours before he was gone and the gap widened once again. i needed closure so i got into my first relationship a few months later and traded love for shame and let him abuse me and treat me like a prop so long as it meant i had someone to hold and to say "i love you" to. i was an embarassment and someone who didnt get to say no, but i stayed because i was committed to the concept of love and because i hoped that if i just kept saying it then somehow the fact that i never got to say it to tyler would be easier to deal with. im glad my mom has juggling as her hobby now, but i just cant stand doing it around her. where it was once a hobby that made me hopeful i could one day be someone, it became a space i shared with the person who told 21-year-old me that i didnt deserve to be treated like an adult. it became a space where i was an adult with a curfew being introduced to people as someones daughter with a name i havent used since i was 10. it became a space where i was eternally doomed to be a prop. i hate how she tries to explain shit to me. ive been doing this longer than you and youre what pushed me to stop. i want to have a juggling partner of my own, i want to have someone who treats me like an equal and who i can be ME with. i want to have real conversations and not have to look over my shoulder to see if my moms listening like im fucking 15. i wish driving didnt scare me so bad and i feel like the biggest idiot in the world when i have big breakdowns at the thought of being behind the wheel because it is the one thing i have the power to change about myself that would drastically improve my situation and i just. cant. do it.

i like to do it in "subtle" ways. i say subtle because theyre not super obvious, but theyre easy to spot too. i like to paint my nails rainbow and wear rainbow earrings (i recently got rainbow star earrings and theyre so cool!!), and ill usually do more extravagent makeup on fem days, like using coloured eyeliner or putting little stars on my cheeks. and, of course, this year ill be at a pride parade too!

I had been a fan of theirs for almost two years and being able to see them in person, even from afar in the balcony section of New Frontier Theater, was the cherry on top. And even if one of the members had left already, seeing my ultimate bias and the other five would made me the happiest 14-year-old boy in the world who was able to see the soon-to-be one of the most popular groups in South Korea, NCT DREAM.

In 2016, they debuted as one of the youngest, if not the youngest K-Pop boy groups. NCT DREAM had an age range of 14 years old to 16 years old and debuted as a sub-unit of NCT, SM Entertainment’s most ambitious project yet. A boy group with no limits to their membership, NCT DREAM is the third sub-unit introduced in NCT, the first being NCT U, which debuted in April of that year, and NCT 127, which debuted in July. NCT DREAM was introduced to the world with a graduation system where members would be leaving or “graduating” from the group after they reach the age of 21 in South Korea, and be replaced with new members, keeping the group young and dynamic.

NCT DREAM is composed of 7 members, namely Mark Lee and Lee Haechan, both being members of NCT 127, Huang Renjun, Lee Jeno, Na Jaemin, Zhong Chenle, and Park Jisung. Being the eldest out of the septet, Mark had graduated from the group in January of 2019 when he turned 21 in the Korean age system, joining NCT 127 full time and leaving the 6 remaining. NCT DREAM moved on as a 6-member group, 6Dream as fans would like to call them. They released a collaboration with british artist HRVY in May without Haechan due to his schedule in NCT 127. They had a comeback as 6Dream, releasing another Mini-Album titled “We Boom” in July, which charted well, even better than their previous comeback as 7 members. They then kicked off their first ever world tour, “The Dream Show” in October of that year starting off in Seoul, and going around Asia, including Manila, which I attended. The groups’ four members who were set to graduate in 2020’s graduation had been delayed for the sake of the world tour. The group was set to perform in Singapore in mid-march when the COVID-19 pandemic had broken out around the world. Shops were closing, people were panic-buying for goods in supermarkets, and the world shut down.

But for them, the world kept moving, just slower than usual pace. After a few emotional ments during the world tour where the members talk about the graduation system, the system was abolished in April 2020 and announced that Mark was set to return to the group after one more comeback. 6Dream would release their last Mini-Album as 6 members on April 29 with “Ridin’.” After its release, Ridin’ was in the top 10 on all of South Korea’s streaming charts, even beating out BTS’s “On” immediately following its release. This was the start of their steady rise to fame in South Korea, solidifying their place in the history of K-Pop with their comeback as 7Dream in 2021. They released their first full-length album, “Hot Sauce” on May 10, 2021 with the return of Mark to the group, and this comeback took South Korea by storm, racking up around 1 million copies of the physical album sold within a week, which has not been done before with the exception of BTS. They proceeded to release a repackage album titled “Hello Future” on June 28, another full-length album titled “Glitch Mode” in March of 2022, its repackage “Beatbox�� being released in May, a special Christmas mini-album with “Candy,” a remake of the famous song by H.O.T., SM Entertainment’s first boygroup, which also trended in South Korea during the Christmas season. They released the latest full album last July 17, 2023, with the album “ISTJ” with the title track of the same name. NCT DREAM is now one of the most popular groups in South Korea and this success can be attributed to their never-ending hardwork, perseverance, and dedication these past 8 years. They maintained stability even in the hardest times because they got each other to help themselves go up the ladder.

listen. they’re the reason I started this thought process. there ARE plenty of high school idols and even middle school idols but the amount of drama and leaving and coming back it would make so much more sense for them to be older. and also! you can introduce so many more interesting subtleties by having them older. I think it would be interesting for Shizuku to be the oldest, and her to have “aged out” of being an idol at around 25 because she “looks too old” but after graduating realizes she still loves it and wants to come back. Airi, a bit younger, could keep her same story of having been pushed into variety. Haruka is then the youngest of the 3, and graduated early at like 21 for the same reasons as in the story. meanwhile, Minori is still a high schooler. Giving that age difference makes it more realistic for her to have looked up to the other ones as a kid. plus idol groups with wide age ranges are super fun!!! there’s a lot of shock to it in the actual story as well but having these three 20+ veteran idols be like we’re back and our BFF is a high schooler would be SO funny. bonuses to this change is it ups the age difference between Shizuku and Shiho to ~10 years which I think is SUPER interesting.

Rui is Local Deranged Man. But the funniest thing is, by far, Tsukasa. Instead of this high schooler running around proclaiming his own greatness while getting no roles it is. A fully grown man. Just like with Shizuku, this would exaggerate his difference with Saki and let me tell u I have seen how 4 year olds act around their newborn siblings and yeah Tsukasa would kill or die for saki.

I feel like her being the youngest of the group also emphasizes her prodigy vibes and ena’s annoyance and admiration of her. ena is going to art school, and unlike Akito she moved away to a different town. he’s the only member of her family that she calls. she loves and hates art school all at once. mizuki.... so I actually feel this is super fun for mizuki? the others don’t know SHIT about mizuki. their age, gender, job/school status, where they live, etc. it’s SO much easier to keep your life hidden when you never see each other irl. when they discover the sekai for the first time, mizuki has a panic attack afterwards about having been Seen.

I could have sworn that I had left it on my desk, but it's not here anymore. I've checked every possible place I could have left it: my bag, my closet, even in my portable keyboard case. But I came out empty-handed every time.  "Okay (Y/N), calm down." I whisper to myself. "I know I had it yesterday while I was practicing...hrm. Maybe I should ask Father...he's usually in the same room as the grand piano, so maybe he's seen it." Even though my father Zeniru isn't always reliable for helping me find things, it was worth going and asking him anyway. We have a grand piano in one of our rooms, and I've seen him frequently in there, even when I'm not playing. 

I tuck a lock of my hair behind my ear and fix up the top buttons of my shirt as I go down to find my father, only to run into our butler. He jumps when he sees me approaching.  "Ah! M-Miss (Y/N)! What are you doing here?" he asks nervously. Why is he acting like that? "Um, is my father in there?" I ask, "I need to talk to him." "Uh, I'm sorry but he's in a meeting!" he almost blurted out. I frown. The last time he made that excuse it wasn't even true. With an eyeroll I slip past and open the door, ignoring him when he calls, "Miss (Y/N), wait, you can't-!" I honestly do not care what he has to say. Without a second thought, I walk in and start to question my father, who as usual was wearing a bath robe.  "Hey, Daddy? Have you seen my piano score-?" I start to ask, but then I stop and my eyes fall upon the young stranger standing opposite my father with his arms crossed.  He has black hair tied up in a messy topknot, and purple tattoos under his grey eyes. He is dressed in a skin tight black bodysuit with metal plating on his chest, waist, shoulders arms and shins, with a long purple scarf and a katana strapped to his back. His eyes are immediately on me, and suddenly I feel slightly nervous. He may look peculiar, yet I have never seen such fine features.  "U-um...I'm sorry..." I mumble, feeling the heat in my face. I'm about to back away before my father energetically calls to me. "Ah, (Y/N)! Seeing as you're here, why don't you come in and meet our new bodyguard?" "Bodyguard?" I repeat, looking back at the young man. This guy is our new bodyguard?  "Um...o-okay..." I reluctantly walk into the room, and stand beside my father as he somewhat proudly presents me to the newcomer. It's strange. I haven't been in this situation since I was little. I would usually just bow and leave, or stand closer to his side without saying a word, but I'm assuming that my father wants me to actually speak with this guy, even though I'm still not that much of a pro at interacting with men, and I tend to be shy around strangers. Not that it stops my father from showing me off to people. "Sonic," he says to the stranger, "Let me introduce you to my lovely daughter, (Y/N). (Y/N), this is Sonic. He's going be our new bodyguard. Go on, now. Introduce yourself." "U-um, yes. It's nice to meet you, Sonic-san." I say politely with a smile. He smiles at me in return and instantly takes my hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, too, Miss (Y/N). I look forward to being under your father's service. I hope the two of us can get along well..." He kisses my hand, and a giggle suddenly escapes me. I must admit, this Sonic person does have some charm, which I surprisingly like.  "Th-thank you." I say, withdrawing my hand.  "By the way...is this what you were looking for earlier?" he asks me, and in a heartbeat I see a paper booklet held in front of my face between his fingers. I take it and immediately recognise it. "My music score!" I gasp. "How did-?!" "It was open on the piano over there," he replies nodding over the grand piano in the room. I knew I left it somewhere.  "Thank you, Sonic-san. I appreciate it." I quickly say with a bow. Suddenly I feel my face getting unusually warmer than normal. Wait...am I...am I about to blush?

Quickly excusing myself, I hurry out of the room and escape to my bedroom. As soon as the door is closed, I drop to the floor on my knees, hugging the score to my chest for dear life. My face is heating up unbelievably quickly.  I can't believe that I'm saying this, but...this new bodyguard, Sonic, he's charming for sure, and I feel like he has a mysterious, shadow-like vibe to him too, which, funnily enough, I find so cool. But most of all...Sonic is so darn cute. But wait, we've only just met, though. I'm sure he knows that a personal relationship could breach the fine line of professionalism. Besides, there's no way I could be falling for someone like him already. That's just stupid!  ...Right?

howdy jac! i noticed jack is trans in i'll try to talk refined! do you have any backstory for him realizing he's trans, etc etc? (coming from someone who's nonbinary/ig trans lol)

okay so !! as you can probably tell, jack being trans isn't like. a Huge part of the story, it's just me projecting something that i wanted to showcase ?? i guess ?? there is a Lack of trans jack content and i want to rectify that

i am not trans, but i had. a similar experience figuring out that im nonbinary so !! yeah

that being said, here are some hcs!! (also i use he/him throughout, even describing things before he came out, just to clarify!)

ok so in this au, jack was adopted by medda around the age of ?? 11 or 12 !

he went through a few rough years (undiagnosed ADHD and PTSD, family trauma, the usual) and, during that time, he just. wasn't happy at all

he hated the world, he hated himself, blah blah

but over time, he starts meeting new friends at school (race and charlie) who take him in and give him something to be happy about, something to look forward to.

this happens when he's 13-14! and it's around this time that, thanks to Charlie and Race, he's,, ok not "introduced" to the queer community but he understands it a lot better

i always imagine that Jack would have been raised in a fairly religious/traditional household before being adopted (traditional values, not traditional parenting skills, bc lets face it: jack's family SUCKED)

and because Race and Charlie help him out, he starts learning all this stuff and learning labels and gender/sexuality issues.

at fifteen he comes out as bi, but he still doesn't feel,, right? like he feels BETTER and he's starting to feel HAPPY but there's still something off

and that's when he starts questioning his gender identity, because he's never felt attached to like,, "feminine" things. he's never felt comfortable in certain clothes, he feels weird introducing himself, he just feels ,, bad

after like !! a year of trying to figure things out, he goes to medda and talks to her about it, and he expects her to be confused, he expects her to ask questions, but the only question she asks is, "what are your pronouns, and what is your name?"

obviously his school friends don't really care, they're happy and supportive!!

he gets his first binder, a new wardrobe, a haircut, and he feels completely happy for the first time.

ALSO okay so in the fic, Davey and Jack are around the 23-24 year old range

i imagine jack got top surgery around age 21, just so he could save up money and stuff, and he's been on T since he was 17.

OVERALL he's happy and he's out and tbh the family stuff was harder for him to process than being trans so !! yeah
