udai and akaashi facetiming over why akaashi thought it was absolutely necessary to strike out an overly-indulgent exposition scene but udai gets distracted bc why tf is akaashi. who drinks caffeinated beverages like water. who pays no heed to how well his meal of choice corresponds to the time of day/night. who he swore was deathly allergic to non-processed convenient store and non-fast food. is so obviously and so carefully meal prepping well-balanced and objectively healthy meals in cutesy matching tupper sets.

BSD Locations- Yokohama Visit 2024 - Part 5

24. Harbor View Park (S1EP9)

It's so close to France Yama. It was really windy and a pleasant area to relax after a long day. You can see a wonderful view of the entire city from here!! The sun was setting around the time I visited so it was kind of perfect :')

25. Harbor View Police Station (S1EP9)

Only a few minutes from the Harbor View Park. It so happens that a black car also passed by as I was taking a picture, such a great coincidence XD

26. Motomachi Park Telephone Booth

A nice old-fashioned telephone booth!! I'm not sure it is still operating though...There were some beautiful western styled architectural buildings on the way here.

It was getting so dark at this point that I was worried I wouldn't be able to find this telephone booth, but thankfully I did! (It was only like 16:45 or something 😭)

27. Motomachi Park (S3EP26)

The park featured in the 15!anime adaptation. Honestly this place was kinda difficult to find (i think I literally passed by a cemetery??). It was so deserted and I'm the kind of person who gets spooked when alone and loses sense of direction when it starts getting dark lmao. I tried to match the angle of the anime but the design of the park was slightly different.

How was Dazai even jumping over that pillar thing? It was so big, it would take a lot of effort to climb on top of one, much less jump from one pillar to another 😭

When I was leaving the park, I saw a cute kitty too!! Somehow, I felt like my trip was really complete lol. I really wish I had some cat food (I want more cat friends!!!! 😭)

28. The Sky Garden Yokohama Landmark Tower (OP2)

The final place on my list and one I was dying with excitement to visit!! S2 opening is so iconic and my favourite BSD opening, so I tried to search for a building with the same view hahaha. The ticket costs 1,000 yen, but I got it for 900 yen by booking in advance on Klook! The view was absolutely stunning!!!! I would definitely recommend coming here for the night view! 💕

The Cosmos Clock 21 changes colors every 15 minutes and it's so pretty!! They have a cafe and they have some books too! You can just sit and relax while gazing out towards the beautiful Yokohama timeline! :)

Speaking of which, they even had the BSD Anthology collection in a section labelled, "Books based on Yokohama" XD

I picked a random one and there was a chapter in which Kunikida was sick? I'm not sure if the anthology series is being translated anywhere but I sure as hell do not remember any chapter like this?? There was even one where Fukuzawa was feeding cats or something and I'm so intrigued, I will consider getting a copy if I ever find it in stores.

It seems that they have days when they plan fireworks at the Yokohama harbor. I saw it on a free pamphlet i collected from the subway station. It's called Yokohama Sparkling Twilight!! I've added the link for any of your fanfic requirements lol. Imagine how cool it would be to see the fireworks from here thoo!? 😩💖

Yokohama Museum of Art was the last place on my list. It's actually located close to the Landmark tower, but it was getting really cold and my legs were killing me so I had to call it a day lol :')

Final Thoughts

Looking back now, I find it crazy to think I planned to visit all these places on foot in one single day (and managed to pull it off???) If I had started a little bit earlier, I suppose I could have squeezed in a few more places, because it gets dark so quickly in winter, but the exhaustion would have got me before that hahaha. I think I walked 30,000 steps that day, the most I have ever walked in my life ig 😂 But it was totally worth it!! I felt so happy to see all the places featured in the anime, and it's just amazing how much work the anime team put into the smallest details. It's just so wholesome and fun to connect the places to the anime versions.

I think it would be better to do such a pilgrimage in summer instead. The BSD anime page on twitter had also made some posts about some of the locations, which i forgot to share. I'll add them to part 1, to the other references I listed.

I'm not sure if it's because I love the series so much, that made me romanticize the place a bit, but Yokohama really was such a lovely place. It was such a charming and peaceful city and when I walked around the harbour I found myself thinking how I wouldn't mind living here hahaha. If I ever get the chance to visit again, I would like to relax a bit, without having to worry about moving along to the next destination XD

Mina goes from "if he's in London" -> "I fear to think" -> "Jonathan will be home tonight so I won't fear tonight." It seems like she's worried for him being in the same place as Dracula for the night. Not necessarily because she thinks the Count will hunt him down, though that's always a possibility if he were to spot Jonathan somewhere this time. But at least for Jonathan seeing him and having another fit without her there to take care of him.

So of course Jonathan coming back to her tonight will ease those fears. But also, she's ready for them both to talk with Van Helsing over breakfast tomorrow, which she definitely would not spring on him with no warning. So she is planning on greeting him home and then having the conversation tonight. I want to see it so badly...

I’ve been rewatching Gilmore Girls, and in the dark depths of seasons 6 and 7, I have been unable to refrain from going on some rants to my sister. Thankfully, she finds this more amusing than annoying, but yesterday she was just like, “I’m fascinated by why you do this.”

And I’m like, “What do you mean? I have FEELINGS. They need to go somewhere!”

And she basically told me that it’s very weird for her to imagine wanting or needing to go on rants about media. She said that yes, while she’s reading or watching she might yell at the characters or whatever, but once she’s done it’s just kind of like…it never existed. She can’t imagine thinking about it more.

And my fangirl brain went ?!?!

What does she MEAN she doesn’t think about media after she consumes it? What does she MEAN she has no drive to discuss it with other people? What does she MEAN she doesn’t think about that character’s dumb choice and need to rant about it to someone?

What do you think of a phantom hourglass remake? Tbh I don’t know how they could remake it without basically remaking it from the ground-up. It would probably play more like windwaker, which I see as a both a good and bad thing. On the one hand, if it was more like windwaker a lot more people would probably play and it would be more popular since I know the touch controls were a turn off for most people for both Spirit Tracks and Phantom hourglass. But on the other hand, remaking it to be more like windwaker would make the game lose some of it’s previous identity. Like, Phantom hourglass was so unique because of the touch controls and the puzzles you can make and solve by having two screens and touch controls. And it was so nifty and handy to be able to write notes on your map. Idk, I still would like it to be remade in general even if it ends up a basically different game, but I wouldn’t change the story or the characters, especially Linebeck. The only other change I would make is the music. Phantom hourglass had rather weak themes, mainly because they re-used the same theme for the islands and the dungeons. The only songs that were really good were the few orginal tracks made for the game, so Linebeck’s theme, Oshus’s theme, both Bellum boss battle themes and the and that music that plays when you first follow the Ghost Ship. But what would you want out of a phantom hourglass remake?

I’ve thought a bit about a possible Phantom Hourglass remake, but not too much recently. I don’t really know if I’d want one, since you’d lose a lot of what really makes it special, and you can still play it through other means. I’m personally fond of the graphics and the music- yes, even the dungeon theme has grown on me- so I don’t really want a remake too badly, especially since I fear any additions/changes they might make with story or characters in a remake. The touch controls make it, and playing it on pc recreates that feeling decently well, but I don't think it'll be just the same if you had to control it with joysticks or anything.

Not to mention, there's so much emphasis on having the two screens, too, not just for map stuff, but almost every single boss had a mechanic related to the top screen! I have no fucking clue how you'd replicate that very well on something like the switch without just fucking with the mechanics altogether.

I would kill to hear some of Phantom Hourglasses tracks be orchestrated or otherwise rearranged in a higher quality. I wouldn't want any of the more notable themes altered in any way, no adding or removing of melodies and only very very small changes to the instrumentation, but I think it'd be neat to see what could be done with dungeon themes. I think a while back I had a fleeting desire to write some short tracks for each dungeon, with some ideas like mostly using instruments heard in Bellum's themes for the dungeons while each individual one gets a leading instrument unique to and reflective of the dungeon, while the Ghost Ship maybe gets a song that's a bit of a expanded version of the fog theme, while the Temple of the Ocean King could have slightly different themes the further in you got, starting with instruments more common to Oshus's theme or the great sea theme, while the further in you got the more instruments from Bellum's theme would be heard, plus some harpsichord thrown in for the hell of it.

Leave the original dungeon theme for stuff like the minor pyramids and some larger cave areas, idk. It's grown on me.

I think the only story rearranging I'd want is mayyyyybe unfridging Tetra? You could very easily shuffle some things around with her and just not damsel her for the whole game and honestly it'd still go off perfectly without a hitch. But you'd still have to deal with the World of the Ocean King being a whole other world, so either bring her and her crew in and have them as wandering ship npcs (the better idea) or just leave them out (not a good idea) but either way it's better than what they actually did. I just don't think I'd want it to switch to Tetra being a major reoccurring character tbh, the main character dynamics in PH are good as they are.

I think I like Phantom Hourglass too much as it is to really want a remake at all. I'd rather we get something like an anime adaptation. That's what I think about more. Give me animated Phantom Hourglass with some fun takes on the dungeons and fights and some fun slice of life stuff with the group between the islands what I want is a Phantom Hourglass anime

You know how sometimes, you decide one thing, only for the characters to show you the middle finger, and do whatever they want?..

Happened to me. Again. Max (my Antichrist OC) and Crowley decided they want a story where they're together. Which is fine, I actually like the pairing. It seemed strange at first, since in most of my ideas, Crowley's Max's mother, stepmother or uncle, then I realized it's a stupid thing to let stop me, I mean... Max's mother in this would be Michael. Enough said.

Speaking of Ms. Sword of God, she's not happy. Not because Crowley's a demon, she's married to Satan himself (her own twin brother), she doesn't like that Crowley's a "traitor", and has no rank. Luckily, Max puts momma in her place, and Lucifer is supportive of the relationship. Michael will relent eventually, too.

All in all, I guess I'm adding another WIP to my ever-growing hoard. Though, for now, a coherent plot is yet to dawn on me. I mostly imagine random scenes. Some of them are rather funny, like when Nina tells Crowley that yes, his relationship with the woman he loves might indeed be decided by the impression he makes on a bird. Since, Max has a hunting falcon, and Crowley, being a snake, does not feel easy around raptors.
