I absolutely LOVE the Squirtle/Wartortle illustrations by kantaro in Pokemon 151!

The Squirtle jumping so joyfully from the rock into the ocean, the colors are STUNNING! I love the contrast of the Squirtle's aqua blue framed in the vivid orange sky, the soft bit of blue reflecting in its shell and its tail just catching the sun, how little and squishy its body looks as it launches itself towards the water with such tremendous excitement!

The lineless style of the background gives me the feel of a travel poster and I sense the tropical environment around it from the rocks and trees framing the corners, the waterfall splashing with as much energy as the Squirtle!

The layered blues on the surface of the water and the bubbles rising at the corner make me FEEL the liquid rising to meet the Squirtle--I can just feel how the next moment it's going to break through and be immersed in a cool island swim!

And the Wartortle running along the sunset beach, this is somehow everything I always imagined for Wartortle! I adore the way the rich purple melts into the warm red/orange sky, the matching purple clouds and shadows in the foreground, and how the dimming sunlight glows red on Wartortle's deep blues!

I love how the yellow and orange of the sky illuminate the lapping waves, I can just feel the gentle motion of the sea at dusk. The aqua color of the ocean matches Wartortle's ears and tail and sets off the red-orange sand, I just love how the colors are here!

Wartortle looks so round and squishy, I love its happiness as it goes frolicking through the shallows, chasing the bubbles caught in the setting sun! The shine and deep shadow on its shell give it an almost jewel texture like real tortoise shell; I love the silhouetted splash Wartortle leaves as it goes running across the shore. It's so full of energy and delight at the end of a gorgeous day! The colors in these are SO vivid and harmonized and the style is so cute and bursting with energy and joy. I just LOVE it (also Squirtle is my starter)

While I am still very much busy with work i figured it'd be a good idea to continue talking about the behind the scenes of creating some of my artworks. This time i wll be talking about this peace.

The initial idea was to have a giant billboard, just like the one with Fairy Godmother shown in the beginning of Shrek 2. But then i realised that i will have to put said billboard into an environment to show it's size - draw it's surroundings, maybe put a big shadow over it for immersion. But i wanted ALL of the attention to be on Princess Charming and her product, so i decided to change the format to vertical and leave the background empty, as if it was a poster ready to be printed.

A piece with Princesses Charming's advertisement being in the background was done later, AFTER I've introduced you all to the idea of Princess Charming being a Business Woman - Here it is 🧡

After that i got inspired by vintage perfume advertisements, but quickly realised, that while the style is very beautiful and soft looking, it doesn't really say anything specific. Meaning that any woman other that Princess Charming could have this poster. But Princess Charming is a brand and the poster needs to reflect it.

So i went looking for inspiration in Fairy Godmother's office. Found these triangular arches and put them into my composition. NOW it was starting to look like something that i was looking for. But something was wrong still. The colour palette. With a change to purple and blue colours suddenly it became very clear that this was a product done by THE Fairy Godmother.

And the finishing touch that i needed was, of course, glitter. Lots and lots and lots of glitter✨

And that's how we got here 💜🧚‍♀️✨

since buck tommy happened i said this is gonna play out how buck and taylor was going to play out, because I've always suspected that the real reason buck and taylor were going to break up in s5 is because buck put so much more focus and energy on eddie especially going through his breakdown but of course fox said no to Buddie. Will not surprise me if the same thing happens here and Tommy realizes that Buck is in love with Eddie sometime in S8 when Buck is their for Eddie during his recovery period and Tommy is like you're in love with him. Just how Taylor would have done.

im super fascinated to see how their relationship plays out tho, having someone who is somewhat established in the canon of the story (like taylor) but who is actually like. nice to/good for buck fjfhdhfh

in hindsight, i am pretty surprised that we really didn’t get too much of taylor being annoyed about buck’s commitment to the 118, and never really much explicitly about the eddie and chris of it all, (on one hand, i dont think it was really pertinent in the writers room, but on the other i could easily see taylor being too independent to mind much that buck leaves her to her own devices yknow) so i am super intrigued about what that dynamic will look like here. especially with someone who has been textually on good terms with eddie and chris!

very curious to see how it all plays out!

I hope the show gets cancelled before we get to this point but I'm just saying, IF I were a writer on amc iwtv it would be so fun to write an episode from like a random npc's point of view for the concert. Not even OF the concert, like I don't want to see the actual show, I want the story of a girl who waited 10 hours in line to see The Vampire Lestat. I want the story of the girl who made friends with other strangers in line, who skipped out on school to go to the show, who drools all over herself while wearing horrible fake fangs. that's what we deserve tbh

real talk, I cannot believe I'm seeing gfms that I remember from the first round of donation posts on tumblr still attempting to reach their fundraising goals. i don't even know how to put into words what i'm trying to say but i think it's a miracle that so many of these people asking for help are still alive after months. i'm almost relieved to see asks in my inbox because at least i know they're probably still alive. at the same time, it's awful when it's a fundraiser i remember from so early on, because they are still trying to reach people and raise what they need.

genuinely considering making easy-to-read pamphlets/posts about some STEM concepts, specifically about genetic engineering (CRISPR), how GMOs actually work, what epigenetics are and/or what popular lab procedures basically do. However. That would be like, incredibly niche and science-y. And this is also basically a fandom blog. And unless they’re fanfic writers trying to write a scientist or something I don’t think people come to tumblr to read this kind of stuff. Maybe… if I make them with anime characters…?
