hey I don’t like being a smart gifted kid anymore. can I please be normal I’d much prefer that
#vents#I felt a lot more strongly about this like an hour ago but I sat around and watched hockey and played sudoku with my dad for a bit now I’m#Better 👍 still need to write this down though#anyways. I do not want to go to special classes. it’s not like I’m not being challenged by my regular ones?? Like they see my grades#it’s not like I’m acing every test.#This would also mean choosing classes to go towards university. that means choosing what I want to do when I’m older now#Which I don’t want to do#I want to be normal like my friends please#I want to be able to live my teenage years and not have to worry about all this#cause this would mean meticulously planning everything around a future career#and if I end up not liking it I would definitely feel too guilty about wasting years of my life and my parents money that got me there#I would go through with that career I hate because 1. I would not let myself change 2. My parents would not let me change#I just wish I could live my life as a fucking kid please#I don’t want to go my whole life never having a sleepover cause I went straight from being super sheltered to too academically focused#Shit I’m crying now#I’m also super indecisive and I DONT KNOW what I want to do. Law seems cool but that’s mostly because of my ace attorney obsession#I would also never personally want to be a real life lawyer. Too much pressure and also paperwork#Why can’t I just be a teenage weirdgirl assistant best friend forever. I’d love that as a career#anyways to brainstorm stuff. Something science could be one but really the only field that fascinates me is space and idk what I’d do there#I’m never being a doctor I don’t care how hard my parents push I’m not doing it ever#anyways I do genuinely think my parents think this is what’s best for me. And they could be right#But right now I hate it I hate it so much#I’ve never even implied I WANT to do this. At least my friend is doing this of her own accord. for me this is all my parents#Augh I wish I could be a normal teenager!! Please!!#I literally went to watch a movie alone with my friend for the first time last week and that’s only cause we didnt tell my mom we were alon#(She wasn’t really mad which I’m super thankful for)#Augh#I guess I am no longer ok#Time to push this to the depths of my mind and not think about it ever again (impossible I will think about it like every day because the#The thought is unavoidable)

Loved You Forever | Luke Hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: four times you and luke knew you both wanted more, the one time a move was made, and the one time you both actually remembered it.
request: yes/no
warnings: underaged drinking (if you're american), minimal swearing.
word count: 6.16k
authors note: happy February loves! I realised that this might have been a better valentines day piece but too late? I am actually in love with this piece though and it was seriosuly so much fun to do another 5+1 thing and I'm pretty sure that this is my first proper attempt at it. I am nothing but a slut for best friends to lovers with Luke! After the loss tonight I think we all deserved something sweet so I also think this might be one of my first attempts at tooth rooting of sweet?
Tumblr media
Luke had been in your life for as long as you could have remembered.
The two of you met during a day at the park, you had been desperate to be on the seesaw but as your siblings got caught up with Jack and Quinn it left you alone, sat on the one side all by yourself “can I join?” Luke asked pointing at the seat that was in the air.
A grin spread across your face “you wanna sit with me?” You asked almost not believing him “yeah you seem sad.” It seemed that it was all it took for your friendship to be formed.
Hours were spend on that seesaw over the autumn months as you got to know him. You were no longer the sad lonely girl to him, now you were the fun and chatty one who had a dog.
𝟏
You had been a bundle of nerves the entire week.
In the week leading up to prom your dress was in need of alterations and your date had decided that going with the captain of the cheer team was far better suited to his taste than you. Your curling iron had also decided the morning of prom that it was going to stop working.
So while you felt like the world was against you, Luke decided to step him. He had gotten Ellen to drop off a brand new one courtesy of him of course, with a note saying that he couldn’t want to see you that night.
The moment that he learnt about you no longer having a date he changed his own plans, well first he actually did a happy dance because now you were single which he appreciated. But then he told the hockey boys that he was breaking from the pact of going as a group. At first they all gave him stick, but when they learnt it was for you they understood.
Because even if you were totally off limits and so clearly Luke’s girl, they all had eyes as a hormonal teen boy. And you were a total package.
So that was how Luke ended up on what was a date but didn’t feel like it because he felt like your second choice, even if he had never been the one to ask you in the first place. Gosh he had seen all of the cringey proposals online but he knew you would have loved one of those. Something to laugh about afterwards that could be cherished as a memory forever.
Jim placed his hand on Luke’s shoulder pulling him out of this thoughts “you okay bud?” He asked cocking his head as he furrowed his eyebrows “I’m good.” Luke nodded “just worried about the time.” It was a lie but it was enough to take the attention off of him and his thoughts.
Your mom looked at her watch “y/n are you coming down anytime soon!” She called up the stairs fearing that you’d end up late and miss the limo that your friends had arranged after pictures.
You turned down your music as you rolled your eyes. In your opinion you weren’t late, just pulling everything out of your drawers because you couldn’t find the perfect earrings to go with your dress “yeah, yeah I’ll be down there!” You yelled back focusing on what you were doing.
Luke stood between his parents and yours “sorry about her.” Your mom apologised as she softly shook her head, knowing that this was how you were “it’s okay I mean she’s.” Luke was lucky he was cut off because it meant that he didn’t have to come up with an end to his statement.
“I’m ready!” Your words traveled down to the group causing all of their heads to turn to your bedroom door. You were right by the top of the staircase so there wasn’t much of a walk for you before your dress was revealed in all its glory “wow.” Luke thought he had said it softly enough for nobody to hear. But the smile on Jim’s face said it all, he knew his son was in love as he watched you twirl all excited for him to finally see the dress.
The red dress hugged every part of your body that you wanted it to. And now with the alterations your slit showed the right amount of leg, it was enough to look hot but not enough to the point where the dress wouldn’t have been appropriate for a high school prom.
Luke felt his throat grow dry seeing you at the top of the stairs, with a smile painted on your face. You looked gorgeous, in every sense of the word as you radiated this glow that encapsulated your body.
His hands grew sweaty, gripping at your corsages packaging. Watching you walk down the stairs, the sounds of your mom in awe with your dad taking pictures turned to background noise. Luke couldn’t understand how you were panicking about your hairstyle to him at lunch all week, because it seemed like it was made for you.
You stopped on the final step holding your hand out to Luke, enjoying the moment of him in his navy blue suit. It was easy to see that he had just had his hair cut, but you weren’t going to make a comment about it as you appreciated the effort.
Sure you wouldn’t have cared if Luke showed up in jeans and his crocs, but he knew how important the night was to you so he made it important to him. His hand was soft against yours as he helped you down the final step “you look-” he cut himself off, opting to take the chance to bask in your beauty once more.
It made you rub your lips together nodding in agreement “you too.” The sight made Ellen place her hand on her heart. Her youngest son here stood tall and all cleaned up, in front of the girl that his parents wished he’d date.
Luke let out a soft gasp remembering that he was still holding your corsage “this is yours.” He scratched the back of his neck nervously, hoping you’d like it “it’s so pretty Lukey.” You held the plastic container in your hands pulling out the pink arrangement.
You handed it back to him “put it on f’me will ya?” You asked watching him nod “sure.” He obliged your request seeing how pretty it looked with your manicured nails.
Your eyes shone looking at it “it’s perfect.” You confessed leaning up to kiss his cheeks “thanks, Lukey.” You gave his arms a squeeze before you settled back in front of him.
He prayed his cheeks didn’t betray him as they felt warm “anytime.” Luke honestly would have done anything to bring that smile out and for you to kiss his cheeks again. Even as he hoped he’d be lucky to kiss you properly one day, he prayed that this wasn’t the last time he’d get to feel one of your kisses.
𝟐
Your high school graduation was not what you expected it to be. Sure you expected to be a little emotional leaving the place that had helped shape you into the person you were set to become. It was the place where Luke cemented his life long place as your best friend.
You held your diploma in your hand as you searched through the crowd for him “y/n!” Luke cheered causing you to whip around.
His smile matched yours as you let out a squeal before you ran into his arms. You almost knocked him over as you laughed “someone’s excited ‘eh?” He let out a soft laugh settling you back on your feet.
He had spent a portion of his afternoon wishing he told you how pretty you looked “I mean how can I not be we have like properly graduated.” If you looked back at the memory now you would have laughed, you felt so prepared for the big world when in actuality you were still so young with so much more growing to do.
Luke smiled “I mean we always knew you were going to.” Brains had always been your thing, much more than Lukes at least.
You looked at the athletics band around his shoulders “and you got this.” You toyed with the ends of it in your hands “I think we both should be proud today.” You had succeeded in your own fields, reminding each other why you did so well as friends because you were so different.
Luke could see that something else was on your mind “what is it?” He asked, seeing that there was a glimmer of excitement like you were trying to hold back a bomb of importance. You felt like a child who had been trying their best to hold off on telling the secret they promised their parents that they would keep to themselves.
You pulled the grad cap off of your head as you took in a deep breath “remember how I told you that I wasn’t sure where I was going because of those scholarship applications?” You were the more academically inclined out of the two of you, to the extent that you did have a good chance to get some scholarships.
This was why you hadn’t decided where exactly you were going, so Luke hadn’t been told of any of the places that had accepted you. This was the first and last time that you were ever going to be holding a secret from him, the last few weeks felt like your very own definition of torture “so you remember how we applied to some of the same schools?” You asked, reminding him that three schools appeared on both of your lists.
He nodded, raising his eyebrows and urging you to continue, “well one of those schools was UMich, and I got in.” Luke let out a gasp, knowing exactly where this conversation was about to go “yes?” He urged you to carry on so he didn’t celebrate prematurely.
You rubbed your lips together “well how do you feel about getting an apartment roomie?” It had been a conversation since you were both eight years old, if you went to uni together, then you were going to be roommates to some degree.
Luke finally allowed himself to cheer as he pulled you into a hug. He spun you around as he let himself celebrate the news “I can’t believe that we are staying together.” He was honestly in shock as he finally placed you back on the ground.
In the distance stood your mom and Ellen, who watched the interaction unfold in front of them “I wonder if this is what they need to take a step forward.” Everyone but the two of you knew about the undeniable feelings between you both. They knew it was asking for a lot, though, because you two had been around each other for so long that maybe it just wasn’t meant to be and maybe that was okay.
Ellen smiled as she watched Luke grab your hand before he pulled you into a group of people “I think that maybe they are only going to be friends.” She let out a sigh as the words left her lips. Boy did she hope that the two of you proved her wrong.
𝟑
Luke had yet to come down from the high that was being drafted to the same team as Jack. He was absolutely ecstatic and having you there too was the perfect moment for him. His family had all come along and they mixed with his friends, every one of his supporters were in that room.
He almost got emotional when he thought about it because none of you had to come, not to the bar afterwards and not to the draft itself either. But when his name was called by the New Jersey Devils Luke just remembered pulling you into this hug as Jack hit his back in excitement.
You were his absolute best friend and world so it was never a surprise that Luke hugged you first but still fans had been going on about how Luke basically blanked his future teammate at first. People who followed Luke’s days at Michigan knew who you were, if someone listened to Luke talk for long enough you were brought up in a conversation. And it wasn’t that it was weird for him but it was because you did everything with him so away from the ice, you were attached to every memory.
But for the people who hadn’t paid attention, you were the mystery girlfriend in their eyes. So you were also now the new target of everyone’s Instagram searches. Their comments to you saying they wished they were Luke’s girlfriend made you laugh, because you felt the same way. His name had been circled with hearts in the corners of your notebook pages. They were left in the math and English books because you knew that was where Luke would never have looked.
Luke would never have admitted it aloud but he knew whenever you weren’t in a room. The sound of your laugh burning at his ears, how you seemed to radiate this sense of light and warmth that could be felt through the room. He had been caught up in a conversation with his parents friends when he had lost that feeling.
It was clear to them that Luke had his mind somewhere else, or well they knew it was with someone else so they let him go. You were nowhere to be seen as his eyes scanned the crowded bar “she’s out front I think Lukey!” Jack slurred his words clearly drunk but still knowing all too predictable his younger brother was.
Luke felt his cheeks grow warm as his eyes went wide “relax dude, just go to her.” Jack laughed as he rolled his eyes, not caring about it before he went off again.
He tried to make it subtle to anyone who watched but Luke headed straight for the door where he of course found you. You were still in his devils cap as he put it on you when he finished his media interviews. An awful attempt at a joke was made when he said that you could be a player now too.
It looked so good on you as he smiled “there you are.” It was like a weight off of his shoulders when he found you.
You were in your own little world before you looked at him “shouldn’t you be inside?” You asked as you cocked your head “this is a party for you after all.” Luke rolled his eyes, turning the cap around so that he could see your face not covered by the lid of the cap.
He leaned against the wall next to you “I wanted to be with you though.” You blushed at the words, your hand reached for his “I just wanted a bit of air is all.” You explained putting his mind at ease as he had worried that you were overwhelmed.
You licked your lips “I’m proud of you tonight.” The confession made his ears ring as his head felt fuzzy “all I did was get drafted.” Luke always was one to downplay his achievements, but you never let him succeed.
A laugh escaped from you lips “Lukey you were drafted fourth and to your brothers team.” You reminded him in a duh tone “you’re actually gonna be an NHL player now.” It had been his dream for as long as he could speak, from the moment you turned seven it even had a space on your vision board cementing itself in the right hand corner. That’s how much you knew he was getting into the big leagues.
Luke looked up at the night sky before he let out a sigh “god everything is going to change isn’t it?” He chewed at the inside of his cheek feeling your eyes piercing into his soul.
The words echoed in your ears as you pushed off of the wall before you stood in front of him. Things didn’t need to change, in fact you didn’t want them to.
You smiled as you held your pinky out to him “what is this?” He asked mimicking your movements “a promise that I will always be with you.” Your voice was sweet as you nodded.
Luke knew he was wrong but part of him thought about how beautiful you looked in the light, how kissable your lips looked too “forever and ever?” Luke cocked his head letting a grin spread across his lips.
Your heart throbbed at the thought, you wanted Luke around for all that time and more “forever and ever.” You agreed locking your pinky into his before you both kissed your thumbs.
The gesture seemed small but it was something that you both could agree on. For you and Luke, it meant that the promise was written in the stars as if you had written it on sand. With every passing wave that came in with the tide, the message still stood.
𝟒
Luke hated the fact that he was leaving soon. He knew that his time with you at university was always going to have an expiration date, but he never thought it was going to come so soon.
You two spent all of your life together, often moving within six months of the other. So now if he really was leaving you then it felt like this was the last time.
Your paths had always been one of the same, with both of you never straying far away from the other. Luke had gotten so used to you being around that the only person who he was worried about leaving was you.
Life had always been the y/n and Luke party that he didn’t know how you were going to react if he left you “what’s going on in that mind of yours?” You asked finding him sat by himself.
He smiled seeing you stumble in his direction “I am just thinking.” He confessed watching you sit on his lap, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
A giggle escaped from your lips “ain’t that dangerous.” Those words made him scoff as his eyebrows furrowed.
You seemed so care free in that moment, it made him envy you. How did it all seem so easy for you as he felt like his head was barely above water, drowning with worry “I am kidding.” You rubbed his cheek against your thumb “what are you thinking about?” You asked urging him to let you into his thoughts.
Your hand squeezed his cheek reminding him that you were there for him “what if I don’t make the right call going.” Luke felt that a weight was lifted off of his shoulders letting that confession slip “I think that the universe is going to put you in the best position for you long term.” You truly believed that everything happened for a reason, so if the agent did come and ask Luke to join the devils like you knew they would, then it was the right thing for him.
It seemed that you always knew what to say to him “and what do you think I should do-” Luke hugged you not taking a chance to let him finish “you are going.” You stopped him from trying to hug you.
He raised his eyebrows “I am?” Your tone made him think you were going to be forcing him onto that plane if you had to.
Luke ran his fingers through your hair “y’know I’m happy that you’re going.” Your confession made him furrow his eyebrows “you are?” He cocked his head as he had of course told you all about the possibility of being signed the moment he learnt the agents were coming to Florida.
You nodded sending him a smile “I mean this had been your dream like forever and Jack will be happy to have you there.” Your explanation calmed his heart, practically brushing the worries from his mind “and how do you feel about it?” The two of you were feeling a little more open tonight as you had a bit too much vodka sprite in your system to think clearly.
A sigh escaped your lips “honestly I’m gonna miss you.” It was the first time you actually admitted that “but it makes me so happy that you get to live out your dream.” Your hand ran along his shoulder.
A smile formed on his face “I love you.” He blurted out unaware of the ramifications it could have had “I love you too.” You mumbled kissing his cheek.
Luke frowned knowing that you didn’t acknowledge what he meant, he was in love with you.
𝟓
Christmas with the Hughes family was something that you had always loved. It seemed to be a family tradition for you too as you always seemed to crack a nod to the event.
Selfishly you loved that it was in Michigan, the short drive from campus meant that it was where you spent the first half of your Christmas break. Your parents came down to them and then brought you back home afterwards and it was the perfect little routine.
This Christmas felt particularly refreshing as you had missed Luke, it was the first Christmas since he made the move to New Jersey and it meant that you two were forced to pack everything into the days he had off. Years of perfectly crafted Christmas traditions forced into three days that you usually put into two weeks.
The days felt jam packed not that you or Luke cared, the only time you weren’t with each other was when you went to the bathroom. Nights he had home were spent talking to you until the sun played peek a boo in the curtains.
Christmas night was by far your favourite highlight though, matching sweaters with Luke and eating so much that you were in a food coma. But this year something felt different, you couldn’t put your finger on it and part of you didn’t want to acknowledge it.
You were never one to push out of your comforts and you just assumed that Luke would share the details of his life if he wanted to “will you excuse me for just a sec?” You asked cutting off one of Quinn’s old friends as you saw Luke heading up the stairs.
The boy shot you a smile and motioned to you to go. Nobody ever needed to look hard into the relationship, you looked at Luke like he was the man who made the moon and the stars that sprinkled around the universe. It may not have been the case but he was the light of your universe and the stars of your eyes.
Jack and Quinn couldn’t help but watch, softly elbowing each other as they knew it was only you and Luke up there “think they’re finally gonna do it?” Jack asked sipping at the eggnog from his cup.
Quinn pursed his lips together “I think it’s been a little too long for that.” The captain craved to be proven wrong, this was probably the first and the last time he touch of that really.
You saw Luke on his phone “hey,” your voice was soft wanting to check up on him “oh hi.” Luke smiled turning around to see you.
His phone got tucked into his back pocket “thought you were going to still be downstairs.” He added, having had watched you talk away with that boy most of the recent hour.
But you shook your head “I wanted to check on up on you.” The act was something meant to be innocent, like it always was. Because you cared for him, this was the what you were meant to do, and what you had always done.
It made him smile “look if you want a quiet day tom-” you were almost immediately cut off “I actually just want to spend time with you alone.” Luke explained making your heart feel so full.
You loved the way that he had with words even if you envied him, it made it so much easier falling in love with him “so you wanna stay up here for a bit?” The request made you nod, taking his hand with a squeeze as the two of you took the three step walk to his room.
His door opened letting the mistletoe drop from the frame that was only seen when the lights turned on, causing your eyes to go wide “shit.” Luke grumbled as it sat between the two of you. It was like a sign from the universe, begging for one of you to put it out of its misery.
The mistletoe stood above the two of you, shining like it was sent from the gods to put you both out of your misery “we don’t have to.” Luke felt his jaw go slack, not wanting to make you uncomfortable as you stared up at the leaf fixture “Jack thought it was funny to put it there.” He added remembering how he was actually planning on removing it the night before.
Oh how different that night would have turned out if he had.
A dry laugh left your lips “who are we to go against an age old tradition?” You asked letting your eyes lock onto his “are you sure?” Luke studied how plump your lips were and god he just wanted to kiss them.
You ran your fingers over the knitted fabric that was your Christmas sweater “I feel like I should be asking you that?” You shot back slightly raising your eyebrows as you felt that he was trying to tell you something in a softer way.
Oh god no, he thought to himself shaking his head “I do wanna kiss you!” The panic escaped in his voice, doing little to help his nerves as his heart and mouth betrayed his brain “but only if you want to kiss me too.” The boy straightened his shirt with a cough attempting to block the embarrassment that  came over his cheeks.
You smiled with a nod “I wanna kiss you Lukey.” Your head buzzed as you drunk one too many vodka cranberries that night.
His hand cupped your cheek as he nodded “and we agree that this won’t make anything awkward right?” His words made you roll your eyes. Sure you knew he was being cautious and you should have appreciated how much he cared for your feelings, but god you just wanted to kiss him.
So that’s what you did, you wrapped your arms around his neck so that you could bring him down to you. The move took the boy by surprise as he steadied himself placing his other hand on your hip. His lips were rough against yours, reminding you that you needed to buy him a chapstick he’d actually like.
Luke always knew that your lips were going to taste good, but he never could have predicted that you could have taste that sweet. It caused this buzzing sense in his head that only stopped when you pulled away just as the sound of footsteps came from the stairs “oh good mom you found it!” Quinn called out going back downstairs.
You drank in the sight of Luke, your lip gloss shone on his lips as he fiddled with his hair “I guess we should go back down?” Luke asked with a shrug as you nodded “maybe just-” you brought your thumb to his lip. Brushing your finger against his lip to collect the product from his lips “there.” You took a step back with a smile seeing that there was now no evidence of the fact that you had kissed him.
The only issue with this kiss was that neither one of you would remember it. Well you both it, but because it was what you had longed for, it felt like a dream. And with the fear of rejection creeping up your neck like an uncontrollable rash, it was best to keep it all to yourselves.
Because after all how does one ask someone if they really did kiss last night?
+𝟏
The crackling noises of the burning wood echoed in your ears as you stared at the campfire “you should talk to her.” Quinn’s voice was soft, somehow still startling Luke who stood by the cooler.
His hand gripped at the new beer can “why would I do that?” Luke asked, adjusting his gaze to make out that he wasn’t looking at you “are we seriously going to do this again?” Quinn couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
He had spent what felt like Luke’s whole life watching the both of you dance around your feelings. Luke’s lips turned upright into a smile at the sound of your laughter, which made his heart bloom with joy, but that was short-lived when he saw Jack being the cause of what you found so funny.
Luke’s lips were quickly forced into a thin line as his hand tightened around his drink “Luke, Jack is the last guy that she would ever go for.” Quinn reminded his brother, placing his hand on his taller brothers back.
It made the Devils player furrow his eyebrows “you don’t know that.” Everyone in fact knew that, Jack was the kind of man that you would have ended up killing if you had to live with him for the rest of your life. Hell even Luke knew it, but he was willing to forget about the logic. He never seemed ready to acknowledge that there was a chance you could like him back.
A whine escaped your lips “y’know lying is just mean right?” You sunk back into your chair “yeah well I ain’t lying.” Jack shot back rolling his eyes.
You clearly didn’t believe the boy as your arms crossed “fine look at them right now and if he isn’t then I will shut up.” Jack clasped his hands together as if a lightbulb had turned on above him. You sighed sending him a nod as you turned your body back to the porch, allowing your eyes to scan the area for Luke. The boy cut himself off in the conversation with Quinn when your eyes locked with his “this means nothing.” You mumbled still in denial.
It honestly should have been so obvious to you both, I mean everyone around you both noticed but the two of you.
The night carried on with you trying to ignore Jacks comments as Luke did the same. Cole let out a yawn as he blinked “I think it is time for bed.” He announced placing his hands in his thighs as he got up watching a few of the guys agree with him.
As the last two besides for you and Luke, Quinn patted Jacks shoulders “why don’t we head up to bed too?” He asked, barely giving his younger brother a chance to say no. Jack was pulled up as he sent you both a salute “don’t stay up too la-” his tease was cut off when Quinn slapped his hand over Jacks mouth.
Luke watched Quinn and Jack walk back into the house before he turned back to see you smiling at him “what?” Luke asked pushing his curls out of his eyes.
He worried that he had something on his face “why don’t you come sit with me?” You offered, patting the camping chair next to you. It felt weird having him sat on what felt like the other side of the fire, he was way too far away from you for your own liking “do I have to?” Luke let out this dramatic sigh letting you know he was messing with you as he got up.
It was nice just being alone with him away from just your bedroom. Since he moved to New Jersey you really did appreciate the one on one time that you got with him “I’m glad you came this year.” Luke confessed finally taking his place in the chair next to you.
You rested your head against the back of your chair “I’ll always come for you.” Your hand reached for his wanting to reassure him “unfortunately for you the return policy on this friendship is long expired so you’re like really stuck with me.” You spoke in a serious tone that made him laugh.
Luke squeezed your hand “darn I was just figuring out how to write my reason for returning ya.” You reached out to hit him “and what was that going to be?” You cocked your head running your tongue along your teeth as you smirked.
He felt his heart pound sitting closer to you “don’t think it makes a lot of sense yet.” Luke shook his head, not having an actual answer for you.
The crackle of the fire served as the perfect background noise “well you’ve got to speak now or else you might really be stuck with me.” You pointed out sticking your tongue out at him making the boy grin as he shook his head.
Truthfully he was never going to return you, hell it was going to have to be you returning him if anything. Even then he was not going to leave you without a fight to stay.
Luke ran his fingers along your jaw “I think coming to Jersey would be good for you.” He knew it was one of your options for what you’d do after you graduated “oh god are we gonna be those friends who end up living next to each other and raise their kids together?” You laughed opting to cover the nerves that coarsed through your veins.
It made the boy shake his head “can I tell you something?” He asked sucking at his teeth “you know you can tell me anything.” You nodded ignoring how close your face was to his.
Luke could hear Jack and Quinn in his mind screaming at him to finally stop being such a baby and just tell you how he felt “and it can’t change our friendship.” You now grew worried at words “you’re scaring me.” That was also what Luke didn’t want.
So before he dug himself into a hole he just decided to jump off of the decision cliff he was on “I like you.” The words escaped from his lips “so when you talk about us living next to each other with our families it’s not nice.” He shook his head watching you listen.
But he didn’t stop there “and it kills me that you don’t feel the same-””you think I don’t like you?” You asked letting out a laugh as he nodded.
You threw your head back shaking your head “oh god Luke I’m mad about you.” The words were meant to be innocent but they lit a fire under his ass “but then why do you talk about us raising separate families together?” Luke scoffed almost thinking that this was a dream and you were joking.
But still it was your turn to explain to him “I thought that it was all I’d get.” You shrugged feeling your cheeks grow warm.
Under the moonlight as the fire illuminated your face, you looked beautiful “can I kiss you?” The question was something you had wanted to hear for such a long time now “yeah.” You nodded with a grin dropping your head as he cupped your cheek so that you could kiss him.
The kiss had you swearing that fireworks should have been going off around you guys. The boy was sweet letting the taste of whatever lipgloss you wore make him feel drunk. Was it vanilla? Or maybe even cherry? Well he didn’t really care, it taste good and he was getting to kiss you.
Jack and Quinn stood in the kitchen watching with smiles on their faces “who would have thought that it would take them this long to finally get together?” He laughed shaking his head “I am just glad that we don’t have to put up with another summer of these two and their puppy dog glances.” Quinn shuddered at the thought, mentally cringing at the idea of having to listen to Luke psych himself out of telling you how he felt.
But what both boys forgot, was that when you have been in love with someone for so long, when you finally get them you enjoy it “oh god.” Jack slapped his hand over his mouth watching Luke pull you onto his lap.
His hands cupped your ass, deepening the kiss as you were addictive to Luke “and just like that it got weird.” Quinn announced listening to Jack agree as they shut the blind of the kitchen window, opting to finally give you both some privacy.

Get You Alone ft. Quinn Hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One day alone together was hard to get. You were used to it by now after being with Quinn for over a year but it didn’t get easier. Today was the first day in a long while that he had no plans and you had no plans. Yet you couldn’t help but groan at his next set of words. “An hour max, come on. You can come with me, it’ll be fun.”
Well you weren’t going to say no to going with him because that defeated the purpose of hanging out together but you didn’t really want to watch Quinn practice on a day he didn’t even have to practice. But he was always striving to be better so even when it wasn’t mandatory and no one else was going, he would be there in an empty practice rink.
That’s exactly how you ended up here with Quinn tying up your laces for you. It wasn’t too bad, it was still just the two of you and he made it at least fun even if you couldn’t fully participate like a teammate could. But that all came to a quick end when some of his teammates came striding in with grins on their faces. “Hughesy boy.” They cheered and just like that you knew you lost your boyfriend.
Now this not so serious practice was turning into exactly that and you were just a bystander but just an hour, that’s it. As the time was cutting close Quinn skated up to you “Is it cool if we stay just a little longer? Boys wanna practice some more shots.” He asked but you knew it wasn’t really a question. “Quinn, you said an hour. This is the only day we really have together and I’m hungry.” You knew you were being bratty but you rarely ever complained to him about anything he did.
“We can get lunch later, the boys were saying..” “Nope, no.” You quickly stopped him from finishing his sentence which caused his eyebrows to furrow. “Come on don’t be like that.” He told you and you raised your brows at him. “I’m not having this argument right now, I’m gonna take the car and get lunch. Call me when you finally have some time.”
Dramatic exit for the win as you turned to leave. Except suddenly your motion was stopped by something looping around you and now you were going backwards. “What the..?” You said as you looked down at the hockey stick that was pulling you back. “Nope, you don’t leave angry that’s our thing.” Quinn pointed out as he turned you around to face him.
As much as you hated to admit it right now, that whole movement was hot. But again you weren’t going to admit that when you were supposed to be angry. “Fifteen more minutes and then we’ll go get lunch wherever you want. Just you and me.” He promised and his blue eyes were shining so bright in this lighting. “I hate you sometimes but fine, yes because you have a stupidly pretty face.” You told him and a grin grew on his lips as he pressed a quick peck to yours. “Love you.”

Tumblr media
summary: luke takes the risk and admits his feelings for you
warnings: a couple instances of cursing, mostly fluff, awkward dialogue
word count: 1.40k
“Luke, if you don’t get your ass over there right now, I’m gonna do it for you.”
Luke turned back around in his chair, reluctantly meeting the sets of eyes boring at him. Dawson let out a snort at Luke's sheepish face. “Look at his cheeks, he’s blushing.” Dawson laughed.
Luke rolled his eyes, taking a sip from his glass. His drink, purchased over an hour ago, had now become watered down and lukewarm.
“You’re such a pussy.” Jack taunted, sipping from his bottle.
“Okay, fuck off guys,” Luke muttered.
Luke fought the urge to look back over his shoulder where he knew he’d spot you still, dancing freely with your friends. Your body swaying and twirling along with the beat, hand in hand with your friend.
“Luke, c’mon, she’s been in Jersey for… what, six months now? And you still haven’t made a move.” Nico pointed out.
“She’s… we’re just friends,” Luke said, pulling his eyes onto his glass.
“Oh please, Luke, you’re not fooling anyone with that whole ‘we’re just friends’ bullshit,” Jack said, his tone practically a laugh.
Luke opened his mouth to retaliate but shut it promptly when he realized he had nothing. Luke had spent countless nights replaying your interactions, dissecting every smile, every laugh, every glance. But nothing gave him a clear answer on what your relationship was.
He remembered the first time you met. One of Luke’s first days on campus he’d gone to the rink to film some content for the Michigan Hockey social media. Your eyes caught Luke first, sparkling as you instructed him on the content he needed to film and the various photos to take.
He got to know you over the year, and your relationship developed into something that felt like more than friends, but you never actually crossed that barrier.
You laughed at his jokes, but then again you laughed at everyone's jokes. You smiled wide at him, but you smiled at everyone. The ambiguity drove Luke mad. Sometimes, he thought he caught you looking at him, your gaze lingering a second longer than necessary. But then he’d dismiss it as wishful thinking. Maybe you were just friendly. Maybe you were just nice.
Then, early this summer when you gave the news of your hiring by the Devils to Luke, he felt that maybe he’d get to clarify what you were. But six months of you being in New Jersey had come and gone, and the status of your relationship still hung up in the air.
“Look, Luke, just go talk to her,” Dawson said, his tone softer. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
Luke knew the worst. The worst that could happen was you telling him you didn’t see him that way. That you valued your friendship but nothing more. The worst was losing the ease and comfort of your current relationship. The late-night conversations, the inside jokes, the shared secrets.
But the best? The best was you feeling the same way he did. The best was the possibility of something deeper, real and deep. That thought alone made his heart race and his palms sweat.
“Guys I… I don’t know.” Luke admitted, his voice low and barely audible above the music in the bar. “What if she doesn’t feel the same way?”
Nico smiled softly, recognizing the nervous demeanour of the younger boy. “Luke, you’ll never know unless you go for it. And if she doesn’t feel the same way, at least you’ll have your answer. You can move on. But if she does… think about it, man. Think about how amazing that could be.”
Luke thought about it. Thought about what could be between the two of you. And right now the best was seeming like it was worth the risk.
Luke took a deep breath, his mind racing. He glanced over at you one last time, seeing the way you laughed and moved so effortlessly. The fear of rejection loomed over him, but something shone through and pushed him forward. He watched as you said something in your friend's ear, before laughing and sauntering over to the bar.
“Alright,” Luke said, standing up and setting his glass down. “I’m gonna do it.”
“Attaboy!” Dawson cheered, while Jack and Nico whooped in encouragement. Luke gave them a look and they quieted their cheering. The last thing Luke wanted was for the boys to freak you out before he even got a chance to speak.
Luke leaned on the bar next to you, flagging down the bartender before you got the chance to. “Hey, man, can I get a Heineken and a Jack and Coke?”
You shot Luke a small, appreciative smile, your heart tensing slightly at him remembering your usual drink order. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“Yeah, but I wanted to,” Luke said, glancing over at you with a small smirk tugging on his lips.
Once you got your drinks, Luke fully turned to you, heart pounding. “Having fun out there?” Luke asked, nodding towards the dance floor.
You laughed, a sounds that was melodic in Luke’s ears. “Yeah, you should join us.”
Luke chuckled, shaking his head. “Maybe later. I'm more of an observer than a dancer.”
You raised an eyebrow, teasingly. “Oh really? I seem to remember a certain someone busting some moves at that team party last month.”
Luke felt his cheeks heat up at the memory. “Okay, okay, maybe I dance a little. But only for special occasions.”
“What? Is tonight not special?” you asked, taking a sip from your drink.
He leaned in slightly, eyeing your face for any hint of where you were going with this. “It is now.”
Your eyes widened slightly, caught off-guard by his sudden boldness. “Luke Hughes, are you flirting with me?”
Luke grinned, feeling a rush of adrenaline run through his veins. “Maybe. Is it working?”
You bit your lip, fighting back a grin. Despite him trying to keep a calm exterior, you could tell that Lukes mind was running a million miles a minute. “Maybe. Why don’t you tell me what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?”
Luke took a deep breath, deciding that it was now or never. He set his bottle down on the bar top, wiping his damp hands hands, either from sweat or the condensation of his bottle, on his shirt. “Okay, here it goes,” Luke said under his breath. “We’ve known each other for a while now, and… I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you. You’re amazing, and I love spending time with you.”
Your smile widened, but you stayed silent, giving him the space to continue.
“I guess what I’m trying to say is… I have feelings for you. More than just friends. I’ve been trying to figure out if you feel the same way, but I can’t tell. So, I’m just gonna come out and say it: I like you. A lot.”
Your expression softened, a mixture of surprise and something else that Luke dared to hope was mutual affection. "Luke… I don't know what to say."
“Say you feel the same way,” Luke said, his voice slightly desperate. “Or tell me you don’t, just give me something, anything.”
“Luke,” you began, your voice filled with warmth. “I’ve been waiting for you to say that.”
His eyes widened in surprise. “Really?”
You nodded, a smile spreading across your face. “Yeah. I’ve liked you for a long time too. I just wasn’t sure if you felt the same way.”
Relief washed over Luke, and he couldn’t help but grin. “So… does this mean we can give this a shot? Us, I mean.”
You leaned in closer, your eyes locked onto his. “I’d like that.”
Luke felt a wave of joy and excitement as he closed the distance between you, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. The bar around you seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in that moment. When you pulled back, you were both smiling, as months of pining had finally culminated.
“So… where do we go from here?” Luke asked.
“How about we start with a dance?” you suggested.
Luke laughed, feeling lighter than he had in months. "Alright, let's do it."
He took your hand, leading you to the dance floor, where you both lost yourselves in the music. As the night went on, Luke realized that taking the risk was the best decision he had ever made.

You bustled into your cozy apartment, seeking shelter from the cold, windy evening. Your eyes gleamed with the promise of a weekend devoid of weddings to plan or happy endings to attend to. Your job kept you on your toes, orchestrating fairytale endings for couples in love. You had dreamed of such a career since you were a child. Yet, at the end of a particularly hectic week, you craved nothing more than a quiet evening alone with a good book and a glass of wine.
Your phone, a sleek black device that had become an extension of your hand, buzzed with a notification. It was a text from Jamie, the charming Canadian hockey player you had met at a destination wedding you had planned over a year ago.
He was a cousin of the groom, a towering 6’7” with sandy blonde curls he kept short. The attraction was instant, he stuck to your side like a persistent shadow that day, flirting with the kind of charm that could melt a polar ice cap. Since then, the two of you had maintained a friends-with-benefits arrangement that suited you both. Two busy professionals with no time for commitments, you had agreed to keep things casual, a secret known only to the two of you.
Jamie’s message was accompanied by an innocent heart emoji.
Missing you.
Wish you were here, waiting in my hotel room, begging for me.
It was to the point, yet playfully suggestive.
You couldn’t resist the urge to tease him back. You snapped a sultry selfie of your bare shoulder and the curve of your neck. The light from the bedside lamp casts a warm glow on your brown skin, setting an alluring mood. You sent it with an accompanying message.
Looks like you’re going to have to wait a bit longer.
Your heart raced as you watched the message bubble turn blue from sent to delivered, knowing the effect it would have on him.
Deciding to leave him out to dry, you sashayed into the bathroom, your thoughts racing with the thrill of the game you played. You poured herself a generous glass of wine and slipped into the steaming tub you had meticulously prepared. The scent of vanilla filled the room as the candles you lit flickered, casting dancing shadows across your skin. Your phone lay on the edge of the sink counter, a silent spectator to the steamy evening ahead.
Your mind wandered to the last time you had seen Jamie, the way his eyes darkened when you straddled him, his grip tightening on your hips as he claimed you in his Seattle high rise. The memory was so vivid you could almost feel the phantom touch of his large, calloused hands on your skin. You took a sip of wine, your thoughts drifting to the thrill of your mindless hookups. The two of you had agreed on the terms: no strings attached, no expectations beyond the physical. Yet, as you traced the rim of your glass with your fingertip, a nagging question whispered in the back of your mind.
Was this all there was between you?
As you climbed out of the tub, your skin pruned from the hot water, your phone buzzed again. This time, it was a picture of Jamie, his muscular chest on display, hand placed decisively on the bulge in his sweatpants. His curls more pronounced than the first time you met him, a silent nod to your hair care recommendation whispered into the night several months ago. His smirk in the mirror was unmistakable, and you felt a familiar warmth spread through your body.
You exchanged a flurry of texts, each one more explicit than the last. Your heart fluttered at his words, the raw desire in them clear as day. But you were not one to be outdone. You sent him a tasteful nude, the picture framing your curves with the elegance of a French painting. It was a deliberate move, one that would surely leave him yearning for more of you.
The conversation grew hotter, and you could feel his anticipation through the screen. But you were at home, and he was on the road again, playing for the NHL.
I’m on the East Coast for the next week.
Jamie texted back, his words accompanied by a mischievous smirk you could practically see in your mind.
Oh?
You replied, playing coy. You knew where this was going, at this point Jamie was an open book to you, but you enjoyed the game.
Yeah, played against the Lightning last night and the Panthers in Fort Lauderdale in three days.
Your eyes widened at his audacity, but you couldn’t help the flutter in your stomach. He knew you had a soft spot for surprises.
You took a deep breath, sipping your wine as you typed back.
And what would you like from me?
The response came swiftly, with a simple:
You know what I want.
You felt a thrill run through you. He was always straightforward, but this was a bold move even for him. You knew that when he played, he was in game mode, focused on the ice. For him to invite you to one of his games was significant. Was he looking to take things to the next level? Or was this just another one of his spontaneous adventures?
Your curiosity piqued, and you decided to play along. You texted back:
What makes you think I can just drop everything and fly out to Florida?
Before the text could be delivered, your notifications chimed again, this time an email. You deflated for a brief moment, bracing yourself for a message from a frantic bride-to-be. Instead, you found an email from Jamie with the subject line, "Surprise." Your heart skipped a beat as you opened it to find an e-ticket attached. He had already booked you a first-class flight to Fort Lauderdale for the next day, decidedly one-way. This was his way of telling you that you wouldn’t be leaving until he was done with you.
Your hand hovered over the message button, your thumb poised to decline. But something about the gesture, the way he had taken control and laid out your weekend plans without asking, stirred a cocktail of emotions. Part of you felt irritated, another part of you was thrilled by the excitement of the impromptu trip.
You took a deep breath and typed back.
If you think I’m going to sit in the stands and watch you play, you’re wrong.
Jamie's response was swift.
Oh, you won't be watching from the stands, darling. You’ll be too fucked out to leave the hotel room.
You couldn't help the smile that tugged at your lips. The thought of being pampered and pleasured by Jamie was definitely appealing.
With a touch of hesitation, you sent a response.
Okay.
Jamie immediately called you once he read the message, his deep voice rumbling through the phone, "Yeah? Didn’t think I’d pull that off honestly."
You giggled, feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation, "What am I getting myself into?"
Jamie's voice was filled with promise and a hint of amusement, "Just a weekend of amazing sex, baby. You know the deal."
You nodded, though he couldn't see you. "I'll hold you to that."
-
The next day, you found yourself boarding the flight to Fort Lauderdale, your heart racing with a mix of excitement and nerves. The luxury of first class was different from your usual economy flights, and you couldn't help but feel a bit guilty for indulging in the comfort Jamie had so casually offered.
As the plane took off, you couldn't shake the feeling that this weekend might be more than just sex and teasing. The gesture of flying you out was unprecedented in your casual relationship, and the thought of what it might mean sent a shiver down your spine. You tried to focus on your book, but the words blurred together on the page as you wondered about the potential shift in dynamics. Was Jamie looking for something more? Or was this just another weekend for him?
The flight attendant offered you a complimentary glass of champagne, and you accepted it with a grateful smile. You sipped it slowly, feeling the bubbles dance on your tongue and the warmth spread through your body. The gentle hum of the plane's engine and your favorite playlist playing in your ears lulled you into a state of relaxation you hadn't felt in weeks. You were going to enjoy this weekend, regardless of what it meant—or what Jamie might hope it meant.
When you landed in the sun-soaked city, you felt a thrill as you stepped out of the terminal. The warm breeze was a stark contrast to the winter chill of your hometown, and you took a moment to savor the feeling of the sun on your skin. The Uber Jamie had arranged was waiting for you, the driver an older man with a friendly face.
"Jamie?" he called out.
"Jamie requested a ride for me," you corrected him with a laugh. "He's my... he's a friend."
The driver's eyes twinkled with knowing mischief as he nodded. "Ah, a friend, huh? He's quite the gentleman to send you a ride like this." He opened the door to a sleek black car, and you slid into the cool leather interior. As he pulled away from the airport, you couldn't help the butterflies in your stomach. The anticipation of seeing Jamie again grew stronger with every mile closer to the hotel.
The hotel was a luxurious retreat, nestled on the beachfront with a view that made you gasp. The driver pulled up to the valet, and you stepped out, feeling both pampered and slightly out of place. The bellhop took your bags, and you followed him into the grand lobby, your sneakers squeaking against the marble floor. The room Jamie had reserved for you was a penthouse suite, complete with a king-sized bed adorned with plush pillows and a balcony that overlooked the sparkling ocean.
You couldn't resist sending Jamie a photo of the view with a caption.
You're not so bad for a fuck buddy.
His response was swift and smug.
Anything to keep my favorite girl happy.
Despite your resolve to keep things casual, you felt a warmth spread through you that had nothing to do with the tropical sun outside. You took a shower in the spacious bathroom, feeling the luxury of the hotel wrapping around you. You had never felt more pampered or more desired.
After ordering room service at Jamie’s insistence, you slipped into the lingerie Jamie had bought for you after tearing up your favorite set just two weeks ago. It was a black set that showed off your curves through the mesh fabric, embellished with delicate lace that traced your body as if made for you.
You sent him a seductive text with a photo of yourself dressed in the lingerie, your smile embedded into your features as you typed. His response was swift, filled with fire and hunger. You could almost hear his gruff voice saying it.
Fuck, you're going to be the death of me
The anticipation grew as you waited for Jamie to arrive, your heart racing with every footstep you heard in the hallway. Finally, the door clicked open, and he stood before you, his eyes darkening as they took in your form. He was dressed in his travel attire—his body still humming with energy from the early morning practice. You could see the bulge in his pants, and you knew he had been thinking of you all day.
You didn't bother with pleasantries. The moment the door was shut, you were on each other, kissing deeply, hands roaming and eager to feel each other’s skin. Your body molded into Jamie's, his large frame enveloping you in a warm embrace that made you feel small and protected. You stumbled to the bed, a mess of limbs and passion. Your clothes were peeled away in a frenzy, revealing the familiar contours of your bodies that had become so well acquainted over the past year.
"You look absolutely stunning," Jamie murmured, his breath hot against your neck as his hands cupped your breasts, his thumbs grazing your hardened nipples through the lace. Your face heated with a mix of pleasure and pride. It was clear that your usual casual flings had evolved into something more intense, something that made your pulse quicken and your body ache for his touch.
His head dipped to kiss your neck, sending shivers down your spine, and you gripped the fabric of his shirt as he worked his way down to your breasts. Your eyes fluttered shut as his teeth grazed the sensitive skin of your chest, his hands deftly unhooking your bra. The cool air of the room washed over your now-exposed breasts, and you let out a soft gasp.
Their chemistry was intoxicating, a dance of lust and desire that had become a familiar rhythm to you two. You had perfected the art of reading each other’s cues, knowing just how much to give and take. But tonight, something felt different. There was a tenderness in Jamie’s touch that was usually reserved for those fleeting moments after passion had waned. You felt it in the way he kissed you, in the gentle strokes of his fingers as they traced your body.
"You’re not playing fair, Jamie," you murmured, your voice a breathy whisper as he kissed and nibbled his way down your body. He looked up at you, his eyes smoldering with desire, and you could see the smug satisfaction in his smile. He knew exactly what he was doing to you, and he reveled in it.
He kissed his way back up to you, his tongue tracing the line of your collarbone before he claimed your mouth in a fiery kiss that left you breathless. He wasted no time in peeling away the rest of your lingerie, leaving you bare before him. His eyes roamed over you with a hunger that made you feel exposed and vulnerable, yet you couldn’t look away.
His hands were everywhere, touching and exploring as if he hadn’t seen your naked body enough times to memorize every curve and ripple. Your hands found their way to his hair, your fingers playing with the curls that had become as familiar to you as your own.
Your hands tangled in his hair as you pulled him closer, the intensity of your kiss building like the crescendo of a symphony. You felt the ache in your core, the need for him growing with every beat of your heart. He broke the kiss, his breathing heavy, and whispered, "I missed you." It was a simple declaration that held the weight of the unspoken truth between you—that your connection was growing to be more than just physical.
Your mouth met his again with a passion that surprised even yourself. You had never been one to get swept away by the romantic gestures of men, but something about Jamie’s confidence, his careless charm, and his unyielding desire for you made you feel like the only woman in the world. You felt a sudden urgency to show him that you felt the same, to let go of the walls you had built so carefully around your heart.
"Take it off," you whimpered into his mouth, your voice barely audible over the pounding of your heart. He chuckled, his hands moving to the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head in one swift motion. His abs rippled as he moved, a testament to the hours he spent at the gym, sculpting his body into the chiseled masterpiece before you. You traced the lines of his stomach with your nails, feeling the muscles contract under your touch.
Desperate moans escaped your lips as Jamie’s hips began to rut into yours. You could feel his hardness pressing against you, begging for entry, and you eagerly parted your legs wider for him. With a moan, he lifted his chest from yours as he moved to stand up from the bed. Your eyes were darker with anticipation, your pupils blown as they tracked his movements. Unexpectedly, he yanked you down the bed by your legs, causing you to laugh breathlessly. He smirked down at you, that same smugness from earlier still lingering in his expression.
"Want these off?" Jamie asked, his voice low and seductive as he reached for the side of his boxers. You nodded, your eyes locked on the prize waiting for you underneath the fabric. He chuckled at your failing words, a familiar teasing in his eyes.
"Be a good girl, come take them off me, baby," Jamie said, his voice a deep rumble that vibrated through your body.
You propped yourself up on your elbows, a seductive smile playing on your lips. You took your time standing to your feet, your eyes boring into his as you reached his waistband. With a slow, deliberate motion, you pulled down his boxers, revealing his thick, hard cock that stood at attention. You couldn’t help the low hum of appreciation that escaped you as you took in the sight of him fully aroused.
He stepped out of the discarded fabric, his body a canvas of power and desire. You stepped closer, your hand reaching out to grip him firmly. His breath hissed out in a sharp gasp, his eyes never leaving yours. You stroked him from base to tip, feeling his pulse under your fingertips. It was a power play you enjoyed, watching him lose control as you maintained your composure.
But Jamie was not one to be outdone. He reached out and snatched your wrist, pulling you closer. "Teasing isn't fair," he murmured, his voice thick with lust.
In one swift motion, he spun you around so that you were bent over the edge of the bed. Your heart raced, your body quivering with anticipation. He kicked your legs apart, giving him full access to your wet, aching pussy. Without warning, Jamie plunged two fingers inside you, causing you to gasp and arch your back. His other hand came down firmly on your ass with a smack that echoed through the room.
"Jamie!" you cried out, the sting melding with the pleasure of his touch.
"I told you, I want to hear you scream," he spoke with a teasing lilt, his voice thick with desire. His fingers worked you, stretching and curling, finding that sweet spot deep inside that made your knees buckle. You could feel yourself getting wetter with every stroke, your body begging for more.
Jamie's thumb began to circle your clit, the pressure building with every pass. You moaned, your body shaking as you felt the beginnings of an orgasm. He leaned over you, his warm breath against your neck, whispering sweet nothings that were anything but sweet. "You're going to come so hard for me, baby. I want to feel you pulse around me."
Your eyes squeezed shut, the sensation of his fingers moving inside you, the sound of the ocean outside, and the smell of your desire filling the air. Your orgasm washed over you in waves, your body convulsing around his hand. He didn’t relent, pushing you through it, drawing out your cries of pleasure until you were left trembling.
"Please," you begged, your voice raw with need.
With a low chuckle, Jamie withdrew his hand, leaving you panting and desperate. He stepped back, allowing you to catch your breath before his hands were back on you. "Please what?" he teased, his voice a dark whisper that sent shivers down your spine.
You struggled to form a sentence under the heat of his touch. His hands traced the line of your spine before landing on your hips. "Please, Jamie, I need you to fuck me," you finally managed to say, your voice a whiny whisper.
With a groan, Jamie lined himself up with your slick entrance, pushing into you in one powerful thrust. Your nails dug into the bedsheets as he filled you completely, the sensation so intense it bordered on pain. You felt every inch of him as he began to move, his hips slamming into yours with a force that rocked the bed.
"Yes," you hissed, pushing back against him, urging him deeper. You moved together in a primal synchronization, the sound of your skin connecting echoing through the suite. Your moans grew louder with every thrust, the pleasure building again.
Jamie's hands held onto your hips tightly, his grip almost bruising. "You're so fucking tight," he groaned, his own pleasure evident in the tightness of his voice. You could feel the tension in his body as he held back, trying to draw out your encounter. But you were greedy for more, pushing back to meet him stroke for stroke.
Your eyes rolled back into your head as he trailed a hand up your spine. Your body was pliant to his touch, a silent invitation for him to claim you completely. He took it, his hand wrapping around the back of your neck, pulling you up. The strength of his movements drew a hum from you, your mind barely registering the sudden shift in position. Your back pressed against his muscular front, the difference in your sizes a reminder of how much power Jamie had over you in that moment.
Jamie’s head dipped to whisper filthy praise into your ears, "So beautiful when you take me like this." His words only served to fuel the fire burning within you. Your hips bucked back into him, your moans turning into screams of pleasure as he hit that perfect spot deep within you. The tension grew, tightening like a coil ready to spring.
"Choke me," you panted, surprising even yourself with the demand. You had never been one for such extreme measures, but with Jamie, you found yourself craving the intense, the edge that came with relinquishing all control to him. He hesitated for a moment, his eyes searching for any sign of doubt. Finding none, he wrapped a hand around the sides of your throat, his grip firm but not punishing.
Your eyes widened and you gasped, the sudden pressure heightening the sensation of his cock filling you, stretching you. Each thrust grew more forceful, more demanding, and you could feel the orgasm building within you, the pressure like a storm waiting to be unleashed. You gripped the flesh of his thighs, your nails digging into his skin as you held onto him for dear life. Your ass met his hips at a delicious pace, leaving you speechless as the feeling of him inside your pussy overtook all your thoughts.
Jamie’s grip tightened on your neck, his eyes never leaving yours as he watched your face contort with pleasure. His strokes grew faster, his breaths coming in short, sharp bursts. You could feel his muscles tensing, his body coiled like a spring ready to snap. He whispered dirty words into your ear, his voice a gruff growl that sent shivers down your spine.
Feeling the second orgasm crest over you, your eyes locked onto Jamie’s, the intensity of the moment making the air thick with desire. His thumb caressed your neck as his fingers tightened slightly, the gentle squeeze a silent question. You nodded, your eyes fluttering shut as you gave herself over to him completely. The pressure increased, and you felt a rush of adrenaline, your heart racing in your chest. The feeling was overwhelming, a devastating mix of adrenaline and pleasure that had your toes curling and your back arching.
The orgasm finally hit you like a tidal wave, crashing over your body as you cried out. It was a release you hadn’t felt in a long time, one that left you trembling and panting for breath. As the world around you swam back into focus, you realized that you had just entrusted Jamie with something you had never allowed anyone else to take: control over your body and your pleasure.
In your orgasmic haze you hadn't realized that Jamie had completely stopped moving, his hips stilled as he watched you writhe in his grasp. He leaned down to kiss your neck, his teeth grazing your skin as he whispered, "You're so good to me, baby."
The words were a departure from the raw power of the moment, but you felt them in every fiber of your being. You moaned out at his words, the sound a thin, whispery thing that forced Jamie to close his eyes as it shot through him. Your arms reached up to tangle your fingers in his hair, tugging weakly as your chest heaved and your muscles squeezed him tighter still.
"Thank you," you whispered, your voice hoarse from screaming out his name. His grip on your neck loosened, but didn't leave, his thumb tracing gentle circles against your throbbing pulse.
"You're welcome," he murmured, his voice low and filled with satisfaction. Your eyes fluttered open to find his gaze intense and focused, the blue depths searching yours.
"Okay?" he asked, his voice a low rumble as he waited for you to recover from the intense climax.
You nodded, your breaths still coming in pants. He slowly withdrew, the loss making you whine in protest. He chuckled, the sound deep and masculine, before turning you to face him. His eyes searched yours for any sign of distress but found only satisfaction. He kissed you softly, a gentle brush of his lips against yours. It was a stark contrast to the fierce passion you had just shared, but it was no less potent.
Lifting you into his arms with an ease that never failed to surprise you, Jamie delicately placed you onto the bed, your legs draped around his hips. His eyes watched yours as he positioned himself at your entrance once again, the head of his cock nudging against your sensitive flesh.
"Tell me you want it," he said, his voice gruff with need.
"I want it," you responded without hesitation, your voice a needy whine. You were desperate for him to fill you again, to feel the full weight of his body on top of yours.
With a smile, Jamie plunged back into you, his movements slow and deliberate. Your legs wrapped around his waist, your heels digging into his ass as you urged him deeper. You could feel every inch of him, the way he filled you completely, the way he stretched you open. His eyes never left yours, the connection between you intense and all-consuming.
Your hands trailed up his sides softly as his hips snapped into yours, keeping himself propped up over you.
"Fuck, Jamie," you breathed out, your eyes fluttering shut at the feel of his thick cock sliding in and out of you. You felt alive, on fire with desire, and you knew that you would never get enough of this man. His rhythm was slow and deliberate, each stroke a sweet torture that had you begging for more.
"Eyes on me, honey," Jamie growled, his gaze holding yours captive as he picked up the pace. You whimpered, your eyes snapping back open to meet his. He thrust into you faster now, his muscles rippling with the effort of his restraint. Your nails scraped down his back, leaving a trail of red in their wake as you desperately clung to him.
Your movements grew frenzied, your bodies slapping together in a dance of passion that was as natural to you as breathing. Your legs tightened around him, your heels digging into the small of his back as you met every one of his thrusts with a roll of your hips. The intensity in his gaze told you everything you needed to know without a single word spoken.
"I'm gonna come," he ground out, his voice strained as he fought for control.
You felt the tension coil within you once more, his words sending a shiver down your spine. You bit your lip, your eyes locked on his as you whispered, "Do it, Jamie. Give it to me. Come inside me, please."
His strokes faltered for a moment with an unspoken question. You had never allowed him to finish inside you, and the gravity of the situation hit you like a ton of bricks. You nodded, your eyes stuck on him as you whispered, "I'm on the pill. It's okay."
The tension broke and Jamie's expression softened as he leaned down to kiss you, a gentle press of his lips that spoke volumes of his appreciation for your trust. He kissed you again, harder this time, his tongue delving into your mouth as his hips resumed their steady rhythm. The feeling of his bare skin against yours was intoxicating, a sensation that you hadn't allowed yourself to experience in a very long time. You felt a new level of vulnerability with him, but somehow it didn't scare you—it only thrilled you.
Your orgasm was building again, your muscles tightening around him as you clung to his shoulders. He felt your tension, your breaths growing shallower, and he knew you were close. He thrust into you harder, his own release approaching. Your eyes remained glued on one another, the connection between you a silent declaration of something more than just physical pleasure.
Your movements grew erratic, bodies entangled as the room grew hotter with their passion. Your moans grew louder, filling the suite with the symphony of your lovemaking. The headboard smacked against the wall in rhythm with Jamie's hips, the sound of skin against skin echoing in the room. The sight of you, your eyes glazed over with ecstasy, was too much for Jamie to bear.
With a final, deep thrust, he came inside you, his release powerful and unbridled. You felt the warmth spread through you, your body tightening around him as you followed him over the edge into pure bliss. You held onto each other tightly, your breaths mingling as you rode out your orgasms together.
For a moment, you lay there, panting and sweaty, your hearts racing in sync. Then, as if suddenly aware of your surroundings, you both looked around the hotel room, the stark reality of your situation setting in. The room was a mess of rumpled sheets and discarded clothing, a testament to your passionate encounter.
You felt a peculiar mix of emotions. The raw vulnerability of your session had shaken you to your core, but you couldn't deny the exhilaration of crossing that line with Jamie. You looked up at him, his chest rising and falling with each heavy breath, his eyes filled with a tenderness you had never seen before. He leaned down and kissed your forehead gently, the gesture sending a warmth through you that was entirely different from the heat of your earlier passion.
You lay there for a while longer, your hearts slowly returning to a steady beat. Eventually, Jamie pulled out of you with a sigh, and you felt the emptiness immediately. He rolled to the side, taking you with him, so you were nestled against his chest. His arms wrapped around you, holding you tightly as if he never wanted to let go.
The silence between you was comfortable, but it didn’t last long. Your mind was racing with thoughts and feelings you weren’t quite ready to voice. You knew that what you had just done was more than your usual arrangement allowed, and you weren’t sure how to navigate these new waters.
"As much as I appreciate the after care, I can feel your cum leaking out of me," you giggled, pushing yourself off Jamie's chest. "And there's a lot of it."
He chuckled, the sound rumbling through his chest as you stood to clean up.
"You're a mess," he said with affection, his eyes tracking your figure as you moved to the bathroom. You grabbed a towel and threw it over your shoulder towards him, your nakedness not bothering you in the slightest.
"Because of you," you shot back, your laughter echoing off the walls. The tension from your encounter had dissipated, leaving only a warm, content feeling in its wake.
"I'm not the one who begged for it," Jamie retorted playfully, a smug grin spreading across his face. You rolled your eyes, a smile playing on your lips as you padded back to the bed after cleaning yourself up. He grabbed your wrist, pulling you back down to the bed with a gentle tug. "Stay," he said, his voice a gruff command that sent a thrill through your body.
Obliging, you snuggled into his embrace, feeling the warmth of his touch settle over you again. The two of you lay there for a few moments, basking in the afterglow, before Jamie spoke up again, his voice softer this time. "Why'd you do that, hon?"
Your heart skipped a beat at his question, unsure of how to articulate the complex web of emotions you felt. "Because you're six-foot-seven with a cute smile," you chuckled with an attempt at a joke.
"I'm serious," he said, stroking your skin gently.
You took a deep breath, your eyes avoided him as you thought of what he was really asking. "I don't know, Jamie," you said finally. "I just wanted to feel all of you, I guess."
Jamie's expression grew serious as he studied you, his thumb continuing to trace lazy circles on your skin. "And now?"
You chewed your lower lip, your eyes searching his. "Now," you whispered, "I don't know what it means."
Jamie's hand stilled on your skin, his eyes revealing the conflict inside him. After a moment, he leaned in and kissed you gently, a soft promise of more to come. "We don't have to figure it out right now," he murmured against your lips. "Let's just enjoy this weekend."
You nodded, relieved that he wasn't pushing for answers you didn't have. You snuggled closer, feeling the beat of his heart beneath your cheek. You lay in silence, your bodies tangled together as the minutes stretched into an hour. The tension of the unspoken words hovered around you, but for now, it was enough to just be in each other's arms.

“Baby, please.”
“Shhh, focus on your game, honey.”
“Just let me—”
“Eyes on the screen.”
It was torture. It was absolute fucking torture and it was driving him mad. Was it somewhat self-inflicted? Maybe so. But Jack Hughes didn’t believe the punishment matched the crime, in fact he thought it was far worse. Not that he would say as much, not when the risk that you’d torture him even more lingered in the air.
To be fair, he had been neglecting you—even if it wasn’t a conscious choice.
It was summer. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and for the next few months, Jack was relieved from all his hockey duties and responsibilities. This meant lazy days to lie in bed a little longer, to eat a little less healthy, to enjoy time with his family and friends and girlfriend until hockey season came back around and he was forced to leave on long roadies.
You and Jack had actually decided to visit the lakehouse a little earlier than everyone else this year, long before his family or even his friends showed up. It was a win-win, with you and Jack getting (what was meant to be) a romantic getaway and Luke getting the Jersey apartment all to himself.
Except, it wasn’t the romantic getaway you expected with your boyfriend.
You weren’t under any false illusions. You and Jack were never an overly romantic couple. You weren’t expecting picnics by the lake or date nights on the boat or home-cooked meals shared over candlelight. That wasn’t how you two worked. That wasn’t the kind of couple you were. But you expected at least some attention from your boyfriend in the week you had alone before everyone else arrived.
Instead, he had stupidly listened to Trevor and Cole bang on about some video game and, without realising it, the boy had become addicted in the last few days. He was on the console, laughing and yelling with his friends he would see in less than two weeks and you were losing your mind.
You tried to ask him to join you for dinner, and he would just promise you he would join in a couple of minutes. You tried to catch up on some alone time when you were both crawling into bed, but he would either be half-asleep or rambling about the game. You had even tried to seduce the boy with a lacy set you brought with you as a surprise, and he didn’t even notice the number peeking out from under your robe.
Jack was usually an attentive boyfriend, and you knew he was only like this because he was hyperfixated on the game.
But you were fucking sick of it. You wanted your boyfriend back. You wanted him all for yourself. And you were going to show him what he was missing while he was focused on the silly, little videogame.
“Shit,” he murmured, his breathing a little heavy as he tried to keep his eyes focused on the screen. As he tried to focus on his little figurine, as he tried to focus on the bullets flying his way from all directions, as he tried to focus on anything except his scandalously-clad girlfriend currently grinding down on his thigh.
Those little shorts he owned were the death of you. And if Jack wasn’t going to fuck you, then you decided you would just have to get yourself off, maybe even remind him of what he could have had if he hadn’t been so focused on something else.
“Careful,” you teased, your voice a little shaky as you rolled your hips. “One button and they’ll hear you, baby. They’ll hear you begging to touch me. They’ll hear your pretty cries to fuck me.”
“Baby,” Jack rasped, his hooded eyes focusing on your face for a short few moments before his gaze dropped to your tits that were threatening to spill out of the lacy nightgown you were wearing. “Please.”
“Maybe I’ll turn the microphone on myself,” you continued, a taunting tone lacing your suggestive words. “Maybe I’ll let them hear how good I feel. Maybe I’ll tell them that I don’t even need you touching me to get off.”
His jaw clenched, the controller in his hands lying limp in his hold as he watched you reach up to squeeze your tits, pinching and rolling your nipples between your fingers.
“Fuck, Jack,” you moaned out, your head tilting back as you began to speed up. “These stupid fuckin’ thighs. Gonna be the death of me.”
“Babe,” Jack pleaded once again, his fingers itching to reach out and grip your thighs. To properly pull you onto his lap and feel you grinding down on his dick instead. To just be inside you while you make those pretty noises.
“You’ve not been a good boy, Jack,” you whispered, your eyes fluttering shut as you felt yourself quickly approaching the edge. “Only good boys get to fuck me.”
“I’ll be your good boy,” he breathed out, his blood rushing to his cock as he watched you grip the fabric of his shirt, leaning against him as your tempo increased.
“Yeah? You wanna be my good boy?” You questioned, your lips twitching upwards as you watched him vigorously nod his head. You leaned forward, your fingers squishing his cheeks together as he let out a small whimper. “You think you deserve to fuck me?”
“Please,” he whimpered out.
Your mouth fell open as you finally tipped over the edge, feeling your orgasm wash over your body as you let out a pathetically loud moan. You gripped onto him as you came, letting the pleasure rush through you as you left his thigh wet and soaking and dripping with your arousal. You leaned your forehead against his shoulder as you catched your breath, as you felt his racing heartbeat beneath your palm.
“If you wanna fuck me, you’re gonna have to prove you deserve it,” you told him, still a little breathless and rough. “On your knees, baby. Wanna see that pretty face of yours between my legs.”
The game was long abandoned as Jack quickly moved to complete your request, his cheeks already flushing with need. “Yes, ma’am.”

_________________________________________
Rhysand feels her before he sees her.
That fucking prickling at the nape of his neck like the tip of a burning blade being pressed to his skin. It’s hot, and if he weren’t already sweating, he surely would be with the ire that’s directed his way.
“Don’t look now,” Azriel mutters from beside him where he’s stretching his hips before the big game. Across the ice, the Porcupines are warming up for the game that will start in no time. It’s an important one, but Rhys says this about all of the Bat’s games. He’s been trying to slip into the mindset he’s always in before games, the one where his focus and only focus is scoring goals, but the eyes he feels watching the way his hips cant back and forth as he stretches his groin make igniting that competitive fire in him difficult.
He peeks over his shoulder despite his teammate’s warning, ignoring the scoff Azriel huffs in response. Rhys can practically hear his friend rolling his eyes as he sinks even deeper into the ice.
His eyes clash with the crimson ones he’s seen too much of the past week. Amarantha sits in the stands beside her friend, smiling at Rhysand like a feline, like he’s still hers to mess around with.
Fuck. He didn’t expect to see her around, especially after you and him made your fake relationship all but clear to his ex-girlfriend on Halloween night.
The memory alone makes his stomach clench. Rhysand runs a tongue across his lips as if he can still chase the feeling of you from them. He thought about the kiss you shared for long after you left, and not even the beer nor the shot of fiery whiskey that followed could erase the taste of you from his lips.
“What the fuck is she doing here?” He groans, kicking a leg in front of him and leaning forward. Normally, the stretch would feel good, but with Amarantha behind him and drinking him in like he’s a tall glass of hers, Rhys feels more than uncomfortable.
“I told you not to look,” Azriel responds, rising to his skates. He offers Rhys a hand, and the pair make their way across the ice to the tunnel that leads to the locker room.
He was right, he absolutely shouldn’t have looked. Now he’s not only going to be dodging opponents, but Amarantha’s heavy stare, too.
“What are we doing this weekend?” Cassian asks, sidling up beside his friends. Of course, he’s already wondering what the move is, when the weekend is two days away. He’s not as serious as Rhysand is about hockey, with his blasé attitude. If Cassian can get out on the ice, hit a few guys without serving a penalty or two, he’s as happy as can be. “We should hang out.”
For Rhysand, hockey is his life. Everything else, including the freedoms that most college students prioritize, like parties and hooking up, comes second to the sport he loves.
Well, hooking up has reared its head into Rhysand’s first place spot every once in a while, and he’d be a fool not to reap that particular reward, but look where it’s fucking got him. With a stage-five clinger ex in the audience and a fake girlfriend that’s he’s all but blackmailed.
“We hang out every day,” Rhys answers, reeling over what the hell he’s going to do. He winces when he decides that he a little more blackmail might be in the both of your futures. “We live together.”
While you’ve agreed to pretend to be his girlfriend to prove to his delusional ex-girlfriend that he’s no longer interested, Rhys hadn’t forced you into attending any of his games. He didn’t think that Amarantha would actually show up to them, especially since she never showed any interest in hockey past the jersey she ripped off Rhysand’s body the night they hooked up.
“Humor me,” Cassian replies with a crooked grin, taking his seat beside Rhys at his locker. Rhys ignores his friend, shucks off his gloves, and roots around his locker for his phone to shoot off a text before Coach Devlin makes it into the room for a pre-game pep-talk.
Rhysand: Need you to come to my game. Amara alert.
He started referring to her as that after the unfortunate first meeting where you had pretended to be his girlfriend and called her the wrong name. It brings him a little bit of cruel humor that eases his shoulders that are tight with tension. If you don’t answer, if you have other plans, like a date, he’s screwed.
Rhys hand clenches around his phone instinctively at the thought. He doesn’t like the thought of you out with anyone else, even if you are only in a fake relationship for the sake of warding off his ex. The idea of you laughing at someone else’s jokes, intertwining your fingers with theirs, kissing them, makes his muscles grow tight and fire flash in his veins.
“I’m busy,” he answers lamely to his roommate, who’s shoving the damp hair from his face and awaiting his captains answer obediently. Cassian frowns, but Rhys’ eyes are glued to his screen, awaiting those three little dots to appear that show you’re typing.
It’s true. He’s tutoring you tomorrow night, has a major psych paper of his own that’s due on Friday morning, and then the team is on the bus that afternoon for two consecutive games against the Grizzlies. It’s going to be a draining weekend, but if the team can manage to beat the Stags this weekend, the lack of sleep he’s going to be dealing with will be worth it.
It almost always is.
After a minute of tapping his skate impatiently on the ground and suffering a scythe-sharp glare from Azriel who is trying to get into his own headspace for the game, you respond.
You: Do I have to?
Rhys chews his lip as the thinks. No, you don’t have to, but what kind of supportive relationship would he be in if his girlfriend didn’t show up to his game? Especially when his ex-girlfriend is there and will definitely take notice of your absence?
Rhysand: Please? It’ll be fun.
You: For who?
He bites back a smile. He likes your witty attitude more than he should. Everything that comes out of your sassy mouth surprises him, and he imagines the way the corner of your mouth curved in that self-satisfied smile as you sent the message.
I’ll owe you one, big time, he texts, refraining from adding an innuendo that will surely make you not show up to his game. So, what if he wants to get a little cheeky with his fake girlfriend? At least you know how to give it right back.
You: Like, more than you already do?
The door bangs shut as Coach Devlin steps into the room. Rhysand flicks a look over his shoulder and releases a breath when he sees him conversing with one of the assistant coaches. If Devlin spots him on his phone before the game, there’s going to be hell to pay.
Rhysand: Please. I’ll do anything you want.
You: Deal. You’re lucky that I’m already on my way with Mor.
Relief has his shoulders dropping. Rhys should probably figure out his cousin’s sudden interest in attending his hockey games, but when it’s serving him as well, it isn’t worth questioning.
“Well, are we still planning on hitting Rita’s tomorrow night?” Cassian asks. Rita’s is a dive-bar that for some reason the Velaris Universities hockey team has been going to for decades. Rhys doesn’t know why it’s a thing, since the place is run-down and the beer tastes like watered down piss, but it’s tradition for the team to go the night before big away games.
As the captain of the Bat’s, Rhysand should go. Going to Rita’s the Thursday before game weekends is tradition as much as it is superstition. Which means that the team is there most weekends during the season, which can be utterly exhausting. It’s not required, and he’s pretty sure that the superstition aspect of attending has been proven wrong more than a handful of times, but if he doesn’t show up, the team will give him hell, and it’ll look like he doesn’t care. He hasn’t missed one outing there yet, but this semester is stacking up to be his most difficult, between trying to keep his near-perfect GPA, overseeing an entire hockey team, whilst volunteering to help plan the teams winter philanthropy.
Tack on tutoring one of the prettiest girls he’s ever seen, and Rhys expects himself to drop dead from exhaustion at any second.
“Dunno if I can make it,” Rhys says, shoving his phone back into his locker and collapsing on the bench. “I have a tutoring session.” He’s more than ready to shake off this skittish feeling and get his head into the game. Amarantha’s appearance has already affected him more than he wants, and he doesn’t have a good feeling about the game right now.
You saying that you’ll be attending loosens some of the knots in his stomach.
“Oh,” Cassian waggles his brows suggestively and Rhys rolls his eyes. “A study date?”
“I didn’t say it was a she,” Rhysand snaps back quickly. He’s all but praying that Coach Devlin finishes his conversation quickly so that he can get onto the ice and focus on something that doesn’t involve his girl issues.
“Neither did I.”
Rhys really doesn’t know why he decided to room with Cassian for the past two years.
“Didn’t you just see her on Monday?” Azriel asks as he finishes his pre-game ritual. It involves the utmost silence—which he never gets since the locker room is filled with adrenaline-fueled college boys—and the charm of his necklace clutched tightly between his fingers.
Rhys shrugs. “Yeah, but she needs a lot of help.”
Cassian grins suggestively, and Rhys braces himself for the remark that’s about to roll off his tongue. There’s a fifty percent chance it’s going to be something about Rhys offering her a hand, and a fifty percent chance Cassian will say something about the kiss you shared, but no matter what comes out of his mouth, Rhys knows it will be one hundred percent inappropriate.
Thankfully, Coach saves the day, grunting at all of the players to quiet down so he can make one of his famous pep talks that aren’t at all famous and more barking out orders than talking.
“Alright, boys.” Coach’s presence demands attention, and the locker room goes so quiet Rhysand swears he can hear Amarantha’s high-pitched voice through the concrete. A shudder works its way up his spine and his stomach twists into uneven knots. “This is an important game. I want everyone on their toes. Keep your eyes peeled for open shots, pass accordingly, and don’t tarnish my good name.”
It's the same speech Coach gives before every game, and Rhys can recite it word for word. It’s concise, to the point, and carries enough of a threat that every player in the locker room knows that if they play like shit, there is going to be hell to pay at tomorrow’s practice.
That bad feeling worms its way back into his mind, coiling his muscles with tension. Fuck, if he doesn’t get his head straight, he’s going to play like shit and Coach Devlin won’t have any of that.
Rhys slams his eyes shut, shoves all of the warring thoughts from his mind, and hones in on Coach Devlin’s voice.
Tumblr media
Rhysand’s head hasn’t been in the game since there were eighteen minutes and twenty-three seconds left on the clock. He knows this because it’s when he spotted you in the bleachers and his focus latched onto you, causing him to miss a pass from Cassian and a Porcupines player to slam into him.
Only his first mistake of the night.
He’s playing like shit, and everybody knows it.
“Dude, what the fuck?” Azriel grunts as he slides up to Rhys’ side as the play resets. He’d fumbled the puck, badly. By the time he recovered, successfully managing to steal it back during a scrum with a few Porcupines players, he had no ample time to shoot, and his shot dinged off of the goalpost.
“I don’t know,” Rhys mutters, cursing himself. It could just be a bad day, but Rhys doesn’t allow himself to have those. He has to be in tip top shape in case recruiters show up to their games, because they’re the deciding factor in whether he gets any interest from a national league, which is what he’s been working towards since he was four.
He knows. He knows exactly what’s fucking with his head. At first, it was his ex in the stands, but as soon as he caught sight of you, all thoughts of her were fucking obliterated.
You’re wearing that mutilated jersey Mor made you. The one with the hem cut to the high heavens and the collar snipped to the valley of your breasts. He doesn’t know if he wants the shirt so long that it reaches your knees or if he wants to peel it off you completely.
To your knees, definitely to your knees. There are too many people around for the latter. He’d rather see that show in his bedroom while you straddle his lap.
His number on the back of the jersey isn’t helping him keep his mind from latching onto those impure thoughts, either.
Rhysand’s entire weekend was spent replaying the kiss you shared on Halloween. How soft and perfect you were. The hint of fruity lip gloss and tequila that painted your lips was a prominent taste in his mouth for hours after.
He could hardly focus on his homework, at hockey practice. Coach reamed him out after his mistakes had cost the team a two-a-day, and he’s doing the same right now when he told himself that he wouldn’t let you distract him.
And with the way your eyes sparkled when you caught sight of him on the ice only reminds him that while you’re more than upholding your end of the bargain, he still hasn’t had asked coach about getting you that athletic training internship with the team. By the look on coach’s face, cheeks red with anger, jaw clenched so tightly that if Rhys didn’t know he already had a few fake teeth from his own days as a hockey player, he’d worry that he’d grind them into dust.
“Cunningham,” Coach says gruffly when he and Azriel slide onto their spots on the bench. The crowd roars as the second line chases the puck across the ice, playing keep-away from the Porcupines as they search for an opening to take a shot.
Rhys forces his eyes on the puck when he notices his gaze wandering your way. He catches sight of your worried face, your brows pulled together and mouth turned down in a frown. You chew on your lip and it’s fucking tantalizing. He wants that lip trapped between his own—
“Get your head out of your ass.” Coach’s voice appears in his ear and he startles. Fuck, Devlin just caught him openly staring in the stands instead of focusing on the game. He’s totally going to have sprints in his future. “I have no problem benching my captain,” he emphasizes, like the title alone should bring a shroud of shame. It has its desired effect, Rhys ducks his head. He wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a smack to the back of his helmet with Coach’s clipboard. He’s seen it happen before. “The Porcupines aren’t even that good for fuck’s sake, and they’re beating us 2-1!”
He can feel the frustration emanating off his coach in waves. It does nothing to ease the moral of the rest of his teammates, who glance at him from down the bench. Rhysand isn’t making a good impression on his team tonight, and everyone can tell. His cheeks burn with embarrassment.
Come on, asshole, he scolds himself, lifting one of the water bottles to his mouth. The cool water is refreshing, and he gulps down a few sips before tilting his head further back and squirting the liquid down his neck.
“Yes, Coach,” he responds like a scolded child.
When it’s his turn to hit the ice, the mantra he’d been shouting in his head over and over slips away as easy as the terrain beneath his skates. He’s all too aware of the pairs of eyes that follow him as he stakes toward the center mark on the ice for the puck drop. Amarantha’s viper-like gaze sends the hair at the nape of his neck standing, which is a feat in itself because it’s soaked with sweat.
It’s your eyes that give his heart an erratic jump, but Rhysand blames it on adrenaline for the beginning of the second period.
He focuses, shoves away every thought that doesn’t revolve around this game right here and now from his head. He thinks about coach’s threat back on the bench as he gets into position for the puck drop: Get your head out of your ass. I have no problem benching my captain.
So, like the good captain he is, he pulls his head right out of his ass and gets to work.
He wins the faceoff, sending the puck shooting to Azriel, who takes it up the ice with ease. As a Porcupines player closes in on him, his hazel gaze locks on Cassian, who’s two paces in front of the player chasing him down.
Rhys makes himself open as Cassian slams the puck around the rink, using the side boards as a guide. He’s there to catch it behind the opposing goalies net and pushes off the side of his blade, scooping the puck onto the edge of his stick and slamming it into the net right between the goalie’s trapper and his shoulder.
The arena erupts in cheers and Rhys grins. Pride screams down his veins and fills his body with a high that he revels in. His teammates on the ice skate his way, clapping him on his shoulders and helmet, congratulating him on his goal. The worries that had been consuming him eke away now that he’s tied the game.
He can’t help himself, seeking you out in the crowd. Mor is turned to the people sitting beside her, but you’re staring right at him, and his heart gives an extra hard pound in his chest. He tosses a wink your way, and his grin turns feral when you roll your eyes and raise an unimpressed brow.
Oh, you want to see another? He can make that happen.
“Nice shot, bro,” Cassian says, skating beside him to reset in the neutral zone.
“Thanks. Let’s keep them coming.”
Nothing eventful happens within this shift. Then, he’s off the ice, and Rhys’ focus is fully on the game. He feels back in his element, more than ready to prove to you just how good of a player her can be.
It strikes him, how he wants to show off not only for his coach, team, potential scouts, but that he wants to do it for you. He likes the way your eyes follow him across the ice, the way that you’re shouting at the refs when he gets a whistle blown on him even though he’s pretty sure you have no idea what’s going on. It’s cute, the glare you’re shooting at the zebras in his honor as he takes a turn in the penalty box for high-sticking.
He catches a few things that his team can improve on, and his determination only skyrockets. The minutes are winding down, and with the power-play the Porcupines are on, they manage to score and Rhys is out of the box. His eyes flick to the clock: one minute left.
Light work.
The puck hits the ice with a clack and Rhys is locked in. There’s a skirmish for possession, and ultimately, it’s the Porcupines that come out on top. They manage to get it into the Bat’s zone, but the violet-clad players don’t make it easy for them to shoot. Cassian takes a shot to the thigh and he grunts in pain but manages to snag the puck and shoot it up the ice to where Rhys stands between two opposing players.
Before the puck even touches his stick, he’s shooting up the ice, calculating the little black circle’s trajectory. He looks to his left, to his right, all while avoiding the slashing sticks the Porcupines players are trying to dislodge his play with. But he’s too quick. There’s no one around, and the players following him are no match for Rhys’ speed.
His focus zeroes in on the goalie. Through the cage, the player wears a look just as determined as Rhys, but he latches onto that sliver of nerves like a fucking leech, and Rhys knows that he has him.
One, he shuts everything out. The sounds of the crowd fade away, and it’s just him and the net.
Two, Rhys readies for the shot. The goalie creeps to the front of the blue paint and he grins. He has him right where he wants him, faking left and shooting right.
Three, the puck hits the back of the net, the horn blows, and victory is his.

Trevor Zegras was the most giving, patient man you had ever known. Maybe his patience came from having younger siblings, but it was more likely that it came from years and years of working with teammates in a cutthroat sport. You had grown up watching hockey, gaining intimate knowledge of the sport when you had started dating Trevor. Trevor, in exchange, found himself more than knowledgeable about baseball, the sport of your choice, than he ever needed to be.
You two had met when you came to Anaheim, having graduated a year early from college with a degree in Sports Marketing. You had landed a job with the Los Angeles Angels, which had relocated you to the area, and you couldn’t imagine your life going any other way. There were times when you missed your family and missed home, but once you had gotten settled into your job and you had met Trevor, Anaheim started to feel like the home you’d been destined to find.
Anaheim was also an escape from your hometown– a place where, despite your best efforts, you did not feel welcome. You had told Trevor early in your relationship about your lack of experience sexually and tried to explain it away with a long-winded story about being a “weird kid,” but Trevor had brushed it off and told you he didn’t mind your inexperience. He was happy, he said, to teach you everything he could. All you had to do was say the word.
So, you’d worked up to it. You’d slept in the same bed, touched him, and he had touched you. Hockey season had helped the pace of your relationship, with Trevor traveling almost every other week. He was gone for two weeks straight in January, traveling from coast to coast, and it was then that you had shyly admitted to him through the tinny speaker of your phone how badly you wanted to suck him off.
He had fumbled with the phone, groaning at the idea alone of your mouth around his length, and it had resulted in a long FaceTime call in which you watched him fuck into his hand, telling you how much better it would feel if it was your mouth.
It was the Monday night after they had come back. Trevor had had a game on Sunday at Honda Center against the Rangers and spent the night at his place because it was closer to the rink. As much as he was itching to see you, and your heart was beating out of your chest at the idea of seeing him and going through with blowing him, you were scared. Trevor knew that you were nervous, the anticipation was getting to you, just from the way you were texting. The messages were shorter. You weren’t initiating conversation as much. The times between your responses were longer.
It didn’t matter, though. He was coming over tonight. He was going to cook you dinner. He was going to set the mood. He was going to make you comfortable if it was the last thing that he did, and if it meant that you wouldn’t get your mouth on him at all, he was okay with that.
Trevor arrived at your apartment about an hour after you got off work. Spring training was starting in just a month, so things were starting to pick up for you. You were stressed, plenty of tasks on your plate and most of them half-finished. A relaxing dinner with your boyfriend was going to provide a needed distraction.
Trevor had let himself into the apartment and was already pan-searing some cubed potatoes when you got out of the shower. He was in complete boyfriend mode, having stolen your apron and thrown it over his bare chest. You could see his tattoos from where you were standing, the ones littering his arms and the delicate one on his ribs, and you smiled.
He seemed like a tough guy, your boyfriend. He had the tattoos, the athletic ability, the sculpted form and ridged muscles of an athlete. Anyone who saw him in the supermarket might think he’s an asshole, but the second they get a good look at him, they’ll realize that he’s just a softie. He tied a delicate bow around the curve of his waist in your baby blue and frilly apron.
“I can feel you looking at me,” Trevor said. You watched his bicep ripple as he moved the potatoes around the pan with a spatula. He threw a glance over his shoulder. “Oh, good, you’re actually there. Could you imagine me saying that to the air?”
“I can, actually,” You replied with a laugh. You walked over and hugged Trevor from behind, arms wrapped solidly around his figure as you squished your cheek against his back. “I bet you did.”
Trevor sputtered out a denial, shaking his head. He relented just seconds later, unable to keep up the bit. “You’re right. I thought you were there like two minutes before you actually were.”
You giggled and pressed a kiss between his shoulder blades.
Trevor placed the spatula down on the counter, then turned the burner off and moved the pan to a different spot on the cooktop. He turned in your arms, inching over just a bit so that you were trapping him against the counter, not the oven. He gasped, reaching up and cradling your face in the palms of his hands.
“What?” You asked.
“You’ve gotten even prettier in the two weeks that I haven’t seen you,” He marveled, tilting your head from side to side as you rolled your eyes.
You pushed away from him, walking out of the kitchen.
Trevor trailed behind you like a puppy.
“You’re a loser,” You said.
“I love my pretty girlfriend,” Trevor replied.
As you passed the couch in your living room, Trevor tackled you over the arm of the object and you fell onto the cushions. You shrieked at the contact, at the fall, and squirmed in Trevor’s grip as he kissed over your neck and face. His fingers were digging into your sides, causing you to giggle and snort between breaths. Trevor was relentless, until he decided to plant a kiss on your lips.
He captured your lips with intent, slowly slotting your bottom lip between his. Trevor always kissed you with purpose, slow, like he was trying to memorize you. He slid his mouth into your tongue like he was trying to lap up your sweetness, keep it on his tongue until he could place your taste and replicate it in a dish or a drink, something he’d be willing to consume every day for the rest of his life. You liked most when he nibbled on your bottom lip before pulling away, something that was so trademark Trevor that it made you breathless. He would always pull back just to look at you, to push your hair out of your face, before diving back in.
He kissed you so gently, so sweetly, that when you felt his bulge press against you, you were almost caught off guard.
“Been thinking about you,” Trevor purred against your lips. “About what you said the other day.”
You froze and Trevor pulled away, hovering over you. He searched your face carefully.
“We don’t have to,” He reassured you. “You know we don’t have to. I’d never make you.”
“I want to,” You replied, voice small. “I’m just… scared.”
“Scared of what?” Trevor asked.
“What if I gag and I throw up all over you?” You cringed at the mere thought. “I’ll die if that happens.”
Trevor stifled a laugh. “I’ll shower and I’ll wait two weeks before letting you near my dick with your mouth again,” He answered, an easy smile turning up the corners of his mouth.
You pouted at him. “You’re not taking this seriously.”
“I am!” He protested. “Baby, you’re not going to throw up on my dick.”
“What if I do?”
“I just told you what we’d do if you threw up on my dick!”
“Okay, well, you’re not being very supportive of my fears.”
Trevor sighed and placed his hands on your shoulders. He stared deeply into your eyes. “I understand you are afraid of vomiting on my penis. I assure you, that will not happen.”
“How can you be so sure?” You whined.
“It’s never happened before,” Trevor said. He leaned down to kiss the spot under your ear. “Plus, baby, I’m going to go so slow that you’ll be begging for more by the end of it.”
A shiver ran down your spine at that, the way he whispered the words in your ear so his hot breath danced over your skin igniting a flame between your legs.
“Why don’t,” Trevor began, his hand making his way to your clothed mound, “I show you just how good getting head would make me feel?”
His deft fingers rubbed in circles over your clit, the pressure just intense enough to make you moan.
“Would you like that? I’ll get my tongue on you, make you come once, maybe twice…” Trevor kissed you, his lips sliding over yours, his tongue teasing its way into your mouth then out of it. “And then we can revisit the idea of getting your mouth on me?”
“Yeah,” You agreed lamely, the heat between your legs growing more slick with each circle of his fingers and each wet kiss.
Trevor stood from where he was lain on top of you. He untied your apron, which you had almost forgotten he was wearing, and tossed it to the side. He grabbed under your knees and dragged you down towards the arm of the couch, throwing one leg over the arm and setting your other foot on the floor. He kept a hand on that knee, rubbing smooth lines up and down your skin with his thumb. With his other hand, he traced the line of your folds through the fabric of your sweat-shorts.
They were a loose pair, gray and almost threadbare after years of washes and use. The fabric of the shorts was the thinnest barrier Trevor could have faced. You could have put on panties when you got out of the shower, but had opted just for these shorts instead. They were more comfortable. Now, they were just something stopping him from getting his mouth on you.
Except, it didn’t stop him.
Trevor mouthed over your clit, giving it an open-mouthed kiss. You whimpered at the shock that it sent up your body, causing your fingertips to twitch at your side. He ran his tongue over the length of your pussy and chuckled to himself when your hips jumped beneath him.
“Relax, honey,” Trevor said, his words muffled because he was still pressed against you. “Relax and enjoy.”
His fingers came up and moved your shorts out of the way, revealing you to him. Chastely, he kissed your folds, then pointedly blew cold air over your entrance.
“Trev,” You let out, reaching a hand towards his, still rubbing on your knee. He intertwined his fingers with yours, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze.
Trevor licked his way up to your clit again, capturing it between his lips and sucking. He rolled the bud on his tongue, causing your hips to lift again. “Be good,” He told you, voice low. His eyes were closed as he continued to lick over you, practically french kissing your lower lips the same way he would the ones on your face.
It was a gradual build, the coil in your stomach tightening. You squeezed Trevor’s hand and ground down on his tongue. He flattened his tongue against your clit, letting you hump it, before he tensed it at your entrance and prodded his way into you. He flicked the muscle fast, and the sensation was all too much for you.
You came undone with a loud cry, your thighs closing around Trevor’s head involuntarily.
He continued to lap at your release, cleaning you up and only stopping when you relaxed beneath him and pushed him away.
“How was that?” Trevor asked, his face level with yours.
You reached out and looped your arms around his neck, dragging him forward until your lips crashed against his. This kiss, at your direction, was much more passionate. You could taste yourself on his tongue and you moaned into his mouth. You turned, pushing at Trevor until he was the one seated on the couch. You found yourself on his lap, grinding down on his bulge.
“So you liked it?” Trevor asked.
You let out a laugh and sucked a hickey under his jaw. “Teach me how to make you feel good like that.”
Trevor shuddered when you scraped your teeth over his pulse point. “On your knees,” He told you. He guided you, with a hand on your shoulder, between his legs.
The sight of you there, feet tucked prettily under you, hands clasped in front of you, has Trevor’s dick twitching in his pants.
“Take my dick out, baby,” Trevor said, his voice soft but firm.
He lifted his hips as you pulled at his shorts. They pooled around his ankles, leaving him in just his briefs.
“Give me your hand.”
You reached up and he took your wrist, guiding your hand toward his bulge. He let your hand rest just to the side of him.
“Touch me. Over my pants.”
You traced the line of his dick over his pants, biting your lip when it jumped under your finger. You palmed him, fitting your hand over the curve of him and beginning to rub him up and down.
Trevor’s head tilted back and he let out a groan. “Faster.”
You sped up, just as he had asked you to, bringing your other hand up to cradle his balls.
“Fuck,” Trevor moaned, inadvertently tipping his hips up into your hand. “Take it out.”
You rushed to do so, scraping your nails against his sides when you pulled at his waistband. Trevor hissed at that, but didn’t say anything. When his dick was revealed to you, standing proud and dripping from the tip, you took it in your hand and leaned down to hesitantly lick his slit.
Trevor’s hands flew to your hair, the strands falling between his fingers. “Again,” He breathed out, eyes wide.
You licked his tip again, looking up at him through your eyelashes.
“Oh my God,” Trevor drawled out, borderline whimpering. “Baby, fuck, please.”
You smiled, proud of yourself for reducing him from someone who was so sure of himself and so loud to someone who is whining just from your touch. You circled your lips around his lip, sucking lightly.
His dick twitched. “So good,” Trevor praised. “Can you take more?”
You nodded out of instinct, but the sensation made him garble out an unintelligible string of words. You sunk down lower on his dick, feeling your lips stretch as you take him down your throat. You bobbed your head up and down slowly, feeling how he slid in and out of you. The taste of him on your tongue was addicting– salty and just so man. You moaned, the vibrations enveloping Trevor’s dick in a way that made him buck up into your throat. You gagged, a tear forming on your waterline.
Trevor grabbed your hair and pulled you up, just barely off the head of his dick.
“You okay?” He asked. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you gag.”
You cleared your throat and nodded. “You taste so good, Trevor.” Trevor’s jaw dropped at the tone of your voice, light and innocent and sexy because it was worn with use.
“Fuck, suck me again, just take it,” Trevor encouraged, gathering your hair into a ponytail.
You lowered your mouth onto Trevor again, tracing your tongue over the vein on the underside of his dick. You used one hand to pump the part of his dick that you couldn’t fit into your mouth. You bobbed up and down, covering your teeth as best you could, but Trevor relished in the ghost of a scrape over his member when you got caught up in the moment.
He was groaning, babbling above you, his abs flexing as he drowned in pleasure. His face was flushed and you whined when you saw the mark that you left on his sharp jawline.
“Baby, you’re so good,” Trevor groaned. “You’re gonna make me come.”
You reached a hand down into your shorts and fingered furiously over your clit, swooning with the sensation there and of the weight on your tongue.
Trevor leaned forward and spotted your movements, saw your hand moving from inside your shorts. “Oh my God, fuck, yeah, make yourself come, too, baby…”
You gave it your all, twisting your hand around the length of Trevor that wasn’t inside your mouth. Drool slid out of your mouth, offering plenty of lubrication for your hand, making it easier to jerk him.
“God, fucking– baby, let me come on your face. Please, wanna see it on you,” Trevor begged.
He said it right as your fingers teased your entrance in just the right way, and you came for the second time that night, kneeling on the carpet for your boyfriend’s pleasure.
You pulled off of Trevor, but kept your mouth open, sticking your tongue out. He took his dick in his hand and jacked himself off quickly, hand flying over his length.
“Close your eyes,” Trevor warned, panting like he couldn’t catch his breath. “Don’t– fuck– don’t want to get my come in your eye.”
You obeyed him, reluctantly losing sight of his figure. There would be plenty of other times where you could watch his face contort with the bliss of his orgasm, but it’s nothing compared to the feeling of his hot, sticky come fall on your cheeks before Trevor aims his release at your tongue.
“God, Y/N,” Trevor groaned out. “I kind of want to take a picture of you like this.”
“Can I open my eyes?” You asked, “Wanna look up at you.”
“Yeah,” Trevor agreed, eyes fluttering as he took in the sight of you with his come on your face. When your eyes opened and met his, he felt himself starting to harden again. “Now I really want to take a picture.”
You wiped some of the come off of your cheek with your thumb before licking it off the digit. “Next time. I believe you promised me a home cooked dinner.”

shower of snow
for @steddiemicrofic prompt ‘shower’
rated t | 399 words | cw: language | tags: Eddie Munson has a crush on Steve Harrington, implied sort of enemies to lovers situation, hockey au, modern au, pre-steddie
🏒⛸️🏒⛸️🏒⛸️🏒⛸️😏⛸️
Eddie watches from the bench, arms crossed, general look of disinterest on his face. He’s not gonna give Steve the satisfaction of being right that he is a better skater than most of the team.
Because he knows he is. He took figure skating lessons from age six to thirteen. He placed nationally multiple times. He may have stopped skating for medals, but he never stopped having talent.
And somehow Steve Harrington, captain of the Hawkins High Hockey Team, thought he could convince Eddie Munson, triple senior and local weed pusher, to join the team.
Not fucking likely.
Eddie watches as Steve ran drills with different lines, his frustration with the other seniors joking around instead of practicing apparent the longer practice went on. Eddie sees every flaw. He also sees how perfect Steve’s movement is.
He loses interest when Steve yells at them all to shut up for the tenth time and lets his eyes wander to the rafters. Four championship banners hang for this team: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000. The four years that Steve’s dad, Richard, was the star center, expected to be drafted first round in the NHL.
Until he got a girl pregnant and no NHL team wanted the drama. He went to an Ivy League college, got his law degree, married the woman he didn’t love, and now here Steve was: trying to add just one banner from his tenure at Hawkins.
Eddie could see why that was a difficult task.
A shower of snow blasts his face, shocking him out of his thoughts.
“What the fuck?” He wipes his face and sees Steve standing on the ice in front of him, alone.
“Practice is over.” Steve didn’t apologize for soaking him with half-melted ice. “So, you in?”
“Am I in? On that?” Eddie snorted. “Hard pass, dude.”
“What? Why?”
“They can’t even do crossovers right. No wonder your defense is the worst in the state.”
Steve glares at him as Eddie stands to leave.
“So, what? It’s hopeless?” Steve yells as Eddie walks down the tunnel.
“Probably!” Eddie yells back.
“What if I help you graduate?”
Eddie pauses at the offer. His grades are decent this year, but he still struggles. Steve offering to help would at least give him more chances to ogle his ass in those tight jeans he wears.
Eddie turns to Steve, giving in.
“What time is practice tomorrow?”

Standing three stories tall and taking up more space on the property than the ATZ house, your residence for the next month gagged everyone but yourself when you arrived, when you stepped inside. Noses pointed in the air as they all got out of the cars, gawking up at the house sprinkled in tiny hints of daylight as the sun rose from the beach behind it, you reveled in the compliments, in the praises of what a good job you had done picking it out, making sure everyone would be happy for the next thirty days.
It was a house your parents dreamed of their entire lives but had never been able to make happen, all of their beach house money going to your sister and the dreams she was chasing across the country, auditioning for movie after movie, show after show. At least they handed you enough to make this month happen, and then some. Your father was a sucker. As much as their attention was on your sister and her dreams, your father made up for it in cash, depositing wild amounts of it into your accounts monthly. This vacation had been mentioned once and within minutes of clinking martini glasses with him, a large deposit hit your savings and you booked this house that everyone fell in love with upon one glance.
An open floor plan on the first floor, a generous kitchen, a cozy living room adjacent to a gaming space, full of old arcade games, a ping pong table, air hockey and more. Everything lightly colored screamed you’re at the beach! and it brought pure joy. The almost white wood of the floor, the pastel blue of the furniture, the pale finishes of the furniture, the make up was stunning, chic, and fed your soul more than you thought it would.
Just stepping inside filled you with ease. A calmness washing over you, almost like the atmosphere had reached into your head and turned everything off.
Two bedrooms on the second floor, one for Seonghwa and the other for Soul, were positioned on either end of the house with a bar space between them, low hanging dim lit chandeliers living over the bar and the lounge chairs strategically placed throughout it. Three bedrooms were on the third floor, the space primarily for them alone, tightly spaced together. Wooyoung and Aurora took the one on the far end of the hall while you and Mingi took the one closest to the stairs and farthest from their room. The one in between stayed empty, and for good reason.
The boys brought in your luggage for you, carrying it up the stairs while you and Aurora wandered around the home in awe. What was beautiful and perfectly on brand for you was completely new to her, a detail you never let go untouched, unnoticed. She got to experience these things with you, with her sisters in ITZ. Her family didn’t take vacations every summer, they didn’t visit places like Haos or stay in homes like this one. She was lucky to even be able to go to Nasara. It’s why you didn’t mind letting her stay here without chipping in, though you knew she’d be throwing down her credit card as much as she possibly could when you’d go out.
Before she ventured to bed she hugged you, one long and tight, with a billion whispered thank you’s before the two of you never spoke of it again. It wasn’t something she dwelled on, it was something that made her clam up, so you allowed her to mention it once, and didn’t beg her for more.
Joining Mingi upstairs, following him up with the last of your bags after wandering around a while longer with everyone, buzzing about what a month you were going to have, you watched Aurora follow Soul into his room, Wooyoung not thinking twice about it. He simply followed you and Mingi up to the third floor, bidding you goodnight before disappearing behind his door. Seonghwa didn’t even spare an extra glance toward the scene, making you wonder if he noticed, or if he hadn’t any clue at all. He hadn’t been around for the moment at the party, where you let everyone know that the three of them were sleeping together.
You’d discuss tomorrow.
Or, you wouldn’t… And would let the situation go on without tampering with it again.
Shutting the door to your room, pressing your back up against it, you watched Mingi push the luggage into a corner and get himself ready for bed, flopping onto the king sized mattress with a groan, rolling onto his back, extending an arm out at his side for you to fall into.
Raising a brow, you stayed where you were at the door. “What did Wooyoung want to talk to you about?”
Mingi tilted his head and sighed. “Yunho.”
Eyes bugging out of your head you hurried for the bed and leapt onto it, falling into his open arm. He smiled, holding you close. “What about Yunho? Aurora? You?”
“Everything in general,” he said. “He was just checking in. He really is a good friend.”
That was something you should be doing with your own boyfriend. That was something you should be doing with everybody actually, but you couldn’t stomach it.
“Right,” you whispered, eyes falling to the white bedspread beneath you and Mingi’s outstretched legs nearly reaching the edge of the mattress. “He is, I guess.”
“You guess?”
Giving him a look and a shrug, you said, “I haven’t really talked to him, he’s preoccupied.”
Lowering his brows, he gave you a smile. “Right,” he breathed through a laugh. “He definitely doesn’t have time for anything else outside of his relationship, ‘cause he’s the type of guy to do that.” Scoffing, you pushed yourself off of him and rolled off the bed onto your feet. “Tor, come back,” he groaned.
“No,” you said, starting for the bathroom on the other side of the bedroom. “I need to get ready for bed. Go to sleep.”
Pulling off his glasses, laying his phone on the bed beside him, Mingi watched you until the door was shut. Inside, you flicked on the light and rested your elbows on the edge of the porcelain of the sink. Rubbing your fingers over your eyes, colors appearing as you vigorously brushed over your lashes, you dropped your hands, staring at yourself in the mirror. Sleepy hooded eyes stared back.
You moved to the bags Mingi had laid over the shelves on the wall, just below a long bay window who’s curtains were drawn for the time being. Tomorrow morning you’d pull them open and let the sunshine in, but for now they stayed closed. The neighbors didn’t need a show.
Pulling out a bottle of micellar water, cotton pads, various face washes, everything you needed to brush your teeth, and face masks, you moved through your routine swiftly, letting the muscle memory take over and your active brain take a rest. It was something you were typically good at, not letting the little shit get to you, linger with you. In moments like this one, moments just for you, when you were alone, it came easy. No show or act to uphold, no one to perform for, no need to be on.
Somehow it made everything much heavier.
Every little thing grew tenfold- has been growing tenfold. All the tiny moments of saying the wrong thing, letting your feelings get the best of you, not thinking before you spoke on something. It all haunted you, stood over your shoulder, clung to your back, gum on the bottom of your shoe you couldn’t get rid of.
You made it to your moisturizer before you realized you were crying, tears welling up and blurring your vision until you couldn’t see yourself in the mirror any longer.
Aurora was here, in the house, you could go find her, talk to her.
Mingi laid right outside in bed, you could go to him, talk to him.
But, none of it made sense.
If you couldn’t even put into words what you were feeling, how was anyone else supposed to help? Or even understand?
Wiping beneath your eyes, steadying your breath before you let out a cry that Mingi could hear, you calmed yourself. The last thing you needed was him questioning you.
From the counter beside the sink your phone vibrated. Grabbing it with a sniffle and an internal groan, you unlocked it with a few taps and craned your neck to take a peek. Knowing who was awake at this hour, you weren’t looking forward to this.
[Unknown Number]: u in haos
Scrunching your nose, your entire face scrunching with it, you picked up your phone and typed back.
[you]: who the hell is this
They answered back instantly.
[Unknown Number]: dont worry abt it
[Unknown Number]: little birdie told me u were here. so am i
[you]: how’d you get my number. who are you.
[Unknown Number]: u will find out soon enough tori
[Unknown Number]: see u soon ;)
[you]: tell me who u are or i’m blocking this number, fucking creep
[Unknown Number]: hm no i dont think u would do that
[Unknown Number]: ur curiosity overwhelms u
[Unknown Number]: i always see it in ur eyes
[Unknown Number]: the what if
[you]: maximum fucking creep, ur blocked, bye
[Unknown Number]: but then how will i talk to u around the boyfriend
What the fuck?! You typed back, then deleted it. You typed again, then deleted it. You couldn’t do anything but stare at the screen, and you did, for many minutes, rereading the conversation.
Leaving the bathroom, locking your phone, you found Mingi absolutely knocked out, tucked onto his side of the bed. The lights were out, leaving you to shuffle through the darkness, changing into something you didn’t wear to the airport. Rolling onto the bed beside him, ample space between the two of you, you watched him sleep for a second. The rise and fall of his chest, the way his body laid completely still, a bit tense beneath the covers, the white sheets. He wasn’t asleep. When he slept he sprawled himself out over the mattress, his large frame taking up most of the space. He’d breathe heavily, and he’d be completely relaxed.
Tempted to reach over and turn him over, have him hold you while you moved beneath the covers, you decided to leave him be. You did snap at him before you left him here. In fact, you’d been snapping at him all day, aside from the half hour spent at his house.
He was over it. At least for today. And you didn’t blame him.
Settling yourself over the pillows, laying backward, stretching out your legs under the softest sheets you’ve ever slept in, you took a deep breath and let your eyes close.
Tomorrow would be better.
The house was alive, because of course the fuck it was. Rolling over to an empty bed, tossed back sheets, you reached for your phone and tapped the screen.
2:55 pm.
Strange of Mingi to not wake you up when he did. Usually there’d be a kiss, or a head scratch, or he’d lay you out and take you half asleep knowing that you’d take him later whenever it pleased you. He left without any of it, not that it surprised you after how the two of you fell asleep last night. Countless times you woke up, tossing and turning without one of his arms wrapped around you to soothe you back to sleep. Even opening your eyes to you half wrapped around him had you retreating back to your side of the bed.
It took you back to the weeks you spent with him and his family over winter break, when Aurora was wrapped around two of them, you barely had your one on you.
You’d turned into one of those couples who seemed to tolerate one another, the honeymoon phase coming to a plummeting end faster than you’d expected it to.
Music thumped from the first floor. Voices carried up the stairwells and in through the cracks on the door, shouts from the boys and laughter from Aurora, someone’s deep voice trying to sing along to the words dancing between the steady beat. Seonghwa, without a doubt.
Kicking the sheets off you roll over the edge of the bed and catch yourself on your feet. Stepping about the room reluctantly, stripping yourself of the clothes you wore to bed, you rifled through a suitcase and pulled out a black bikini, one Mingi approved of last summer. He approved so hard you couldn’t wear it around him if you were with other people, and not because he didn’t want others to see you in it.
He should be up here to help you into it, maybe fall back into the sheets with you to pull it off of you, then help you back into it if he didn’t make a mess in it first. Like he made a mess in you yesterday. One you couldn’t reciprocate.
Biting down on your bottom lip to keep tears from slipping down your cheeks, you hurried to the bathroom, fixed your chestnut layers into a ponytail and washed your face. Glass hits the floor downstairs as you wash away bubbles and twist off the water.
“If everyone is drunk, I swear to God,” you muttered with a groan. Dabbing your face dry, you inspect your appearance, decide on no make up, twist your earrings around in your ears, and take yourself downstairs.
Bare foot, trying not to race down the stairs, the music called to you, pulled you in, like it would in the frat house. The music went on, drinks were handed out, and problems were forgotten. As much as it sucked to be the last one up, the last one to the party, a drink or three wouldn’t hurt. If anything, it would help.
Isla would slap you across the face if she were here.
Passing by closed bedroom doors and the untouched bar on the second floor, you contemplated taking a shot from a liquor bottle on a shelf, but kept moving. Sunshine leaked through the windows, you needed to be on a beach. The song changed to another you’ve heard before, one of the guys had on their party playlist. You didn’t have the sets memorized, the songs came out shuffled, but each one brought back such vivid memories it nearly cured everything you’d been feeling.
That was until you descended down the last flight of stairs and found the kitchen a mess, Seonghwa cooking something on the stove, opened empty cans littering every surface, Mingi leaning across a counter with a dopey smile on his face, Aurora straddling Wooyoung’s lap at the kitchen table, and Soul bouncing around with a broken bottle in his hand throwing away glass. Every boy was shirtless, except for Soul, and like you, everyone was ready for the beach.
“There she is,” Mingi cheered, the first to catch a glimpse of you. Turning around completely, flashing you his bare, sculpted chest, he met you halfway, throwing an arm around your shoulder as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
“You didn’t wake me up,” you said, looking up at him.
Giving you a lazy smile he said, “You were out, and tired. We’re on vacation, why would I want to wake you up?”
“So we could spend time together,” you almost whispered, and his smile faltered.
Pulling you into his chest, skin on skin, so he could kiss you for real, he took his hands to your cheeks and brushed his thumbs along your bottom lashes. “Okay,” he breathed. “From now on I’ll wake you up. No matter what.” His lips met the center of your forehead, and just before he let go of you, Aurora shouted for you.
“My turn,” she teased, leaning backward onto the kitchen table, her elbows on the edge. She almost matched you, except her bathing suit was a deep purple and almost hooked over her hips where yours lived as low as possible, something Mingi took note of before you walked away from him. One of his fingers hooked into the strap, snapping it against your tan skin with a smirk as you shot him a look over your shoulder. “Hi, Tor!”
“Hi Ror,” you said, sparing a glance at Wooyoung clearly several drinks deep with how he ogled Aurora and had his own fingers twisted around the ties on her hips. “I need to catch up,” you sighed, looking around for a bottle, or a shot glass, or anything.
“Shots, let’s do ‘em,” Aurora said, attempting to slide off of Wooyoung’s lap. His arms wrapped around her waist faster than she could move, his devilish smile peeking out as the chair pushed further beneath the table forcing their bodies together.
“No, no, no,” he mumbled to her, drinking up her giggles. Grabbing onto her, hands pressed to her any which way he could have them, he laid sloppy kisses on her cheek and down her jaw, mumbling things to her amidst her giggles that you couldn’t make out.
Turning from them with an eye roll you bump into Soul, bright eyed and half smiling where he stood offering you a bottle of Soju and a little crystal shot glass. Adorable, really. Tousled, frizzy blonde hair that desperately needed to be cut, dark, shining eyes, pouty pink lips. Any moment caught face to face with him put everything into perspective, you got it. You understood why. Without even trying he most likely could have you on your knees, it didn’t take a genius to figure out why Aurora was doing what she was doing.
He didn’t say a word, he wasn’t much of a chatter, only when provoked, or drunk, or if he was on Aurora’s hip like a toddler, or a shadow behind Wooyoung. Taking the shot glass from him, his soft fingers brushing over your own, his smile deepened as he looked down to the glass and filled it to the brim. Watching him, this kid who got wrapped up in the shitstorm that was your junior year, this boy who brought her pain and now resided in her sheets, though he was cute, you couldn’t help but wonder how Aurora allowed herself to get so deep in it with him.
Even Seonghwa. Standing at the stove, bouncing between counters, sleek black hair sweeping his shoulders and framing his cheekbones, slender, toned golden frame on display. He played his own game with her, for his own gain, his own reputation.
As did the man currently beneath her.
And she forgave them all. Treated them as normally as she did you and Mingi.
Soul waited patiently, stepping back some to give you space to knock back the glass, which you did, and fast, holding it out for another pour. With a snicker he obliged, filling the crystal with juice.
“Thanks,” you whispered.
Soul smiled at you, his cheeks rounding beneath his black eyes. “Course,” he said quietly, just over the music for you to hear. His gaze lingered a moment longer, then he was off, listening to Seonghwa’s orders for him to help him cook, or clean, or whatever the eldest wanted him to do.
The rim of the glass hit your lips as your eyes slid over to Mingi, tall, broad, bare chested Mingi, lingering nearby Seonghwa, chatting with him, though his eyes were on you. All over you. His overgrown blonde hair and melty dark roots taunted you. His glassesless face, structure on display, it called out for you. Wider than Seonghwa, he had more muscle on his bones, more definition in his chest, his torso, down to his fucking ankles. Skin soft, so smooth you could feel it running over your fingertips just by looking at him, you knocked back the shot and contemplated pulling him upstairs.
In one look he could see into your head, he knew your thoughts as if they were his own, and he smirked, one so small not even Seonghwa could see it. But you could.
He shook his head, then he winked. Pushing off the counter with his backside he purposefully slid his hands over his middle and dipped the tips of his fingers beneath the band of his suit. Chin tipping back, he looked down at you, leaving nothing but a centimeter of space between you after he swaggered your way. Without looking at it he took the shot glass from your hand and slid it onto the table behind you. In one fluid motion he placed a finger beneath your chin and lifted you by the jaw, his own head tilting ever so slightly, dipping down the same, his warm breath dancing over your skin, his scent alone enchanting you, creating a space just for you.
Rising to your tiptoes to catch his lips with your own, he retreated backward with a click of his tongue. “Mm,” he hummed, voice low, deep in his chest. “You’ve got to wait.”
Lips pouting, you whispered a harsh, “Why?”
Mingi went unmoved. “Because I said so.”
He took his hand back and walked away, taking his eyes from you faster than you’d have liked.
Your stomach took a tumble.
This was not the time for him to play this game.
The baiting game, the ignore, deflect, have control game.
“Beach?” Aurora asked, throwing an arm as best as she could around your shoulders. Inches shorter than you, she stood on her tiptoes and held onto you with a smile.
Glancing over the other she wasn’t clinging to, you found Wooyoung beside Soul, the two whispering. Well, rather, Wooyoung whispered to Soul while the boy wrinkled his brow and tried to keep up with what he was saying.
“Beach,” you answered her with a nod, looking over at her and her happy face.
“Let’s go before the guys,” she said, narrowing her eyes. “Get some peace before they come and get loud, and play their music, and wanna play games…”
Some peace.
“Sure,” you shrugged, letting your eyes wander around the kitchen. Seonghwa and Wooyoung were picking at the plates of food, Soul bustled around like Wooyoung had sent him on a mission to straighten the place up, and Mingi stared at you. His hardened gaze flickered between you and Aurora, actually, and he was thinking.
He was thinking things you couldn’t figure out.
A piece of you hoped he didn’t feel out of place here. Without Yunho.
The tilt of your head and softening of your eyes alerted him that you put it together, his thoughts surrounding the fact that you were here with Aurora, you were here with Mingi, but Yunho wasn’t here with Aurora. With Mingi. Breaking his gaze, he focused elsewhere, not keen on wanting to talk about it, or think about it for much longer.
If last October had gone to plan, the way you and Mingi hoped, the way Mingi dished about to you, this trip may have looked a bit different, would’ve had different people residing in these walls. Less people.
“Let’s go, Ror,” you mumbled, and she smiled.
“Let’s go.”
“Oh my god, he’s nuts,” Mingi muttered from behind you on the same towel you lounged on.
Everyone had eyes on Seonghwa in the clear blue water, diving into waves, jumping over them, hanging around a couple of guys who seemed to be around your age. He was good at that, making fast friends, charming strangers, beguiling them all. It came natural to him, and it seemed to amplify the moment Hongjoong stepped down from his presidency at ATZ and appointed Seonghwa to fill the position.
It took him a week to accept, way longer than it took Aurora to snatch hers up and write your name down on the sheet beside Vice President. Seonghwa moved like his normal self. Calculated. He thought over every possible outcome, every possible situation that could arise, the shit show that Hongjoong was leaving behind for him to take over, for him to handle. That’s ultimately why he kept him close by. On the shortest of leashes. He made Hongjoong his Vice President, and he kept him in his pocket. He gave him all the freedom in the world however, on one condition.
“He’s finally not worried about shit,” Wooyoung said from your right, laying on his own towel, tanned legs stretched out in front of him, elbows propping him up where he laid. Sunglasses were perched on the edge of his nose, a pair of Cartier shades he bought himself recently. You can remember that phone call with Aurora, she was all teary eyed because she couldn’t afford to buy him anything he’d actually want to wear.
Mingi laughed to agree with him. “Right,” he huffed. “A month of nothing, he’s gonna either lose his mind, or lose track of time.”
“I hope it’s time,” Wooyoung muttered, looking behind him up the stretch of sand toward the dunes where bars and lounges lived, luring tourists and beach goers in. “I want him to not think about anything that has to do with Nasara.”
You squinted at him, sitting up from where you laid. Tucking your legs in, crossing them beneath you, you asked, “Have you thought about his offer anymore?”
Wooyoung whipped his head toward you and scoffed, Cartier glasses sliding further down his curved nose. “To come back? Fuck that.”
“How come?” you asked. Mingi leaned forward and wrapped his arms around you from behind, sliding closer so he could press his chest to your back.
“The whole thing is screwed up,” Wooyoung shook his head, looking backward at the bar once more. “I don’t wanna be a part of something capable of that.”
“Capable of what?” you asked, egging him on.
He looked at you with only his eyes. “Ruining lives.”
Mingi tried to nestle his head into your neck, the warmth of his body pairing with the warmth of the sun, all of it becoming too much. Shrugging, making him move, you smiled back at him and asked, “Get me a drink?”
The corners of his lips perked up as he retreated off of you. “Sure,” he said gently, and took himself toward the bar Wooyoung kept watching.
Gaze following Mingi, you watched him step up onto the wooden ledge beneath the palm leafed covered awning and place a hand to Souls shoulder, giving him a little shake. The boy whirled around, sitting beside Aurora, the two rubbing elbows where they chatted, where they whispered. Your boyfriend smiled at him, said something to the both of them, and ordered you a drink.
“You don’t wanna be with them?” you asked Wooyoung. He didn’t give you any more of his attention, instead he focused on Seonghwa trekking up the sand, hair pushed back from his face. His suit clung to his thighs, outlining every muscle.
“Who?” Wooyoung asked, reaching over for a towel to hand to the eldest. “How was it?” he asked Seonghwa, giving him just as big a smile as he appeared with.
Shaking the towel open he dried his hair first, pushing it backward before throwing the towel around his shoulders. “So good, you guys gotta get in there. It’s so warm, you don’t even have to wait to jump in.”
Wooyoung sat up completely and moved backward to give him a place to sit. “I will, Ro wants to go with me, I’ll wait for her.”
Seonghwa sat and folded his legs, using the towel around his shoulders to dry his face and the rest of his arms. “Good shit,” he muttered without meeting his eyes. “Where’s she at?”
“At the bar,” you said quickly, and Seonghwa looked up at you. “With Soul.” Wooyoung looked at you. You looked at him. “You don’t want to go up there?” He raised a brow and tore off his sunglasses, tossing them in the space between him and Seonghwa.
“No,” he said, and you screwed your brows in confusion. “I’m not drinking again until later.”
“But they’re up there,” you said, throwing a hand in that direction. “Without you.”
Seonghwa glanced between the two of you, towel out of hand, completely dumbfounded.
Wooyoung maintained face, barely moving as he said, “And that matters, why?”
“One drink for Torilynn,” Mingi half sang as he rejoined you where you sat. You all looked up at him, two of you frustrated and one of you terribly confused. Your boyfriend took you all in and handed your drink over slowly. “What’d I miss?”
Ignoring him, you took the drink with the little umbrella poking out the top and whipped your head to glare at Wooyoung. “She went to his room last night.” Seonghwa pulled his lips in a line and averted his focus to the ocean, probably wishing he’d taken a bit longer to come back.
Wooyoung’s eyes narrowed in a way that sent a chill down your spine. “And then she came to ours ten minutes later.”
Sipping your drink, you shook your head. “Damn twenty year olds.”
His eyes widened. “You think they-”
“What do you mean by that?” Seonghwa asked. Wooyoung turned to him with a sigh, sending a glare your way shortly after.
“I mean-”
Mingi placed a hand on your shoulder. “Tori.” Sharing a look with him, one that nauseated you, you sipped your drink and took a breath. Blinking a few times you turned to Seonghwa.
“Who’d you hang with at the party?” you asked him, but it did nothing to cure the burning need to know in his dark eyes.
He glanced at Wooyoung, now leaning back on an elbow swiping through his phone, then back at you. “Yeosang,” he shrugged. “Him and H. Mostly H, actually, now that I think about it. He wasn’t sure what he was going to get into there, he was nervous. I hung with him to make sure he’d be okay.”
Mingi smiled. “You’re so good, Hwa.” His president returned the smile. Groaning internally, your eyes rolled outwardly. Mingi leaned in to kiss your cheek, lingering close by, watching you suck the liquor up through the straw. “Listen,” he said quietly, just for you. “You keep your mouth shut and I’ll let you do anything you want to do to me later.” The drink paused in your straw, and he snickered. “I know you can do it, baby, you can be such a good girl for me.” You looked at him, pulling the straw from your mouth. “Can you?”
“Get me in the water!” Aurora shouted, both her and Soul hurrying from the bar, kicking sand about. Rounding the group, she fell into Wooyoung’s lap, taking him by surprise in a fit of giggles, happy giggles. Throwing her arms around his shoulders she straddled his lap and laid him out on the towel, half of him in the sand. Soul, with a smile, waited patiently beside Seonghwa, the two laughing at the couple, then sharing something amongst themselves.
Lost in disgusting kisses, like they weren’t surrounded by their friends, on a crowded beach, you curled your lip and looked around to see if anyone else was as disturbed by the scene.
They weren’t.
“I’m gonna throw you in there,” Wooyoung said, muffled by her lips.
Aurora giggled again. “No you will not.”
“I am so sandy,” he said, hooking his hands under her thighs. “You are getting thrown in,” he laughed, jumping up to his feet. Aurora clung to him tighter with a shriek, throwing her head backward with a wicked smile for help, for assistance. Her eyes met yours twice.
“Help,” she breathed. All you could do was watch.
“No one’s helping, Ro, you did this to yourself,” Wooyoung laughed along with her, Seonghwa and Soul too, all three of them gleaming. He flew down the sand, the other two following right behind. Without even knowing if they hit the waves, if he threw her in or not, you turned back to Mingi who hadn’t moved an inch. You were the only thing he paid attention to, even amongst the chaos.
Taking a hand to your cheek he danced the back of his fingers over your skin, then he reached into his pocket and pulled out two phones, handing one over to you. “Here,” he said softly, eyes never leaving yours, “That’s blowing up.”
Tearing your gaze off of him you took to your phone, tapping the screen, swiping it open. Three messages stowed away in your inbox. One from your father, the other two from that phone number that sent you all of those messages last night. You’d get back to your dad later, when you had a free minute. The unknown number totally wasn't the excuse you were using to not talk to him.
You held your drink out for Mingi to take, and he did, standing up to move over to the towel beside you. He picked up Wooyoung's Cartier glasses and pushed them back on his head.
[Unknown Number]: hope the beach is fun
[Unknown Number]: u look hot
[you]: stop texting me. you creep ass motherfucker
“Who’s that?” Mingi asked, sipping from your drink. Giving him a look, his brows were furrowed. “You look mad at the world.”
“My sister,” slipped through your teeth with all the ease in the world, so much so it scared you, but once he heard the words his face softened.
“Makes sense,” he nodded, “Tell her I said hi. You guys haven’t spoken in a while, this is weird.”
Staring at the screen, waiting for another message to come through, you cursed this stranger for not having their read receipts on. Your message lived on Delivered. “Yeah, I guess this is weird,” you mumbled, locking the screen.
“Are you feeling any better?” he asked quietly, dropping his chin. Glancing at the sand, at the water and your friends splashing about, Aurora on Wooyoung’s shoulders, Soul on Seonghwa’s, you shrugged.
“Totally,” you said, and a sarcastic laugh fell out of him. “What?” you whined, giving him a look.
Mingi shook his head and sipped from your glass. It took him a second to speak, to form any words, all he could do was stare at you in disbelief that you were still lying to him. And then he said it.
“I can’t believe you’re still lying to me.”
“Mingi,” you sighed with a slouch of your shoulders.
He shot you a half smile and handed back your drink, one now half empty. “I opened a tab.” With a slight squint to his eyes, he said, “I’m gonna go hang out with them, okay?”
Sighing louder, you grabbed onto your phone, you gripped the glass, and you leapt to your feet, tossing your ponytail over your shoulder. “Enjoy, I’m gonna go do a shot.” His demeanor fell, his eyes going extremely soft. “Just don’t,” you said just above a whisper. “Go have fun.”
“Do you want me to come with?” he asked from the sand, glued to you as you started toward the bar.
You looked back over your shoulder to him and his traveling eyes. “Not if you have to ask,” you said with a smile, leaving him where he sat.
Bodies filled the bar, leaning over the tropical styled counter, lounging in cushioned swings hanging from the ceiling, surrounding tables, everyone in bathing suits and sandals, or completely barefoot. Party music poured out of the speakers, a beat unknown to you but recognized by a few who chose to dance between tables, or down on the sand. People of all ages minded their own, kept to themselves or the people they came with. Not a soul paid attention to you as you approached the edge, sliding onto a stool with your now empty glass.
“What can I get you?” the girl in the bikini behind the bar asked as she basically danced up to you. Long caramel hair swept over her shoulders down to the middle of her back. The hot pink of her suit complimented her mocha toned skin, leaving you to wonder if it was natural or if she spent ample time in the sun.
“Whatever this was,” you said with a small smile, pushing the glass toward her. With one look at it she knew, snatching the glass away to fetch you a fresh drink.
Spinning on the stool, twisting to face the water, letting the ocean breeze brush over your skin, chilling the burn you’d been starting to feel from the sun, you took a deep breath and released it with a slow close of your eyes. All that was to be heard, the bar music, the people within it, and the crashing of the waves. No friends shouting, no boyfriend in your ear, no worries.
Peace.
Until your phone vibrated in your lap.
With a groan you opened it up.
[Unknown Number]: such a way with words miss tori
[Unknown Number]: lets be nice to each other
[you]: not like this, no. i’m going to block you.
[Unknown Number]: u would have done it yesterday if u were serious abt it
[Unknown Number]: tell me
[Unknown Number]: what keeps u from pressing that button
Damn.
[you]: who are you.
[Unknown Number]: see i knew it
[Unknown Number]: ur curiosity overwhelms u
[you]: you tell me who you are, and then i block you.
[Unknown Number]: u’ll figure it out soon enough
[Unknown Number]: i promise ;)
Opening the contact, you clicked around on the settings and turned off the notifications. You also turned off your own read receipts. You also double checked that your location wasn’t shared with every single contact in your phone.
Even though apparently this person was already in Haos, they said so themselves last night.
They were right, whoever it was, you weren’t going to block them. Who in their right mind would block somebody like this without knowing who it was? Without knowing their motive? You’d dig deeper. You’d figure out who they were, and if it ended in disappointment, that was that, but if it happened to uncover something deeper, that was worth it. What if it had to do with Aurora? Her dad? What if it involved Mingi, or one of your other friends? It could be associated with Isla, if she was in trouble and you did nothing to help her, you’d never forgive yourself.
Swiping back into the messages, there was one unread.
[Unknown Number]: u know who i am tori.
Gulping, you spun back to face the bar, your fresh drink sitting in front of you all pretty on display, fresh fruit in the glass, tiny umbrella poked into the pineapple. Grabbing onto it, you guzzled it down quickly, barely giving yourself a chance to breathe. You locked your phone completely, deciding to message again later. Or tomorrow. Or if they texted again.
Resting an elbow on the bar, placing your chin within it, you took another long, much needed deep breath. You should tell Aurora about this person, or Mingi. Somebody other than you should know, just in case. Scanning around the bar, taking everything in, the beach paradise you’d be spending a month in, some sort of excitement shot through you. A type of electricity you hadn’t felt in weeks. Maybe even months. That number, that person, was your secret. You didn’t have to tell anyone.
People bustled by, people shouted while they danced, the world moved around you, and it suddenly didn’t seem so awful. No one would know. No one will know.
A smile crept onto your face, one you couldn’t swallow down. Grabbing your glass, you spun on the stool and jumped off of it, starting for the sand.
“Tori!”
You froze on the ledge. A boy called out your name.
Turning toward the bar, your stomach dropped to your knees, and your cheeks surely flushed of all color.
Across the bar, the entire thing a giant square, three familiar heads of hair greeted you. Two with smiles, and one with a look that sickened you.
Or fueled the excitement within you.
You weren’t sure.
Intak, Jiung, and Jongseob.
His dirty blonde hair and bare shoulders should not have your heart pounding between your lungs, he should bring nothing but disgust, and shame, and regret, and more disgust. His friends waved, but he stared. He stared at more than he should before that shit eating smirk showed off his dimples.
little birdie told me u were here. so am i
hope the beach is fun
u know who i am tori.
Well, this should be fun.

Three’s the Crowd | Nick Moldenhauer & Luca Fantilli
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: at a team party two boys get the chance to have you, but what happens when you want them both?
request: yes/no
warnings: sexual themes, p in v, oral (m and fem receiving!), mild degradation, threesome, swearing.
word count: 5.02k
authors note: the Nick and Luca threesome is finally here and I’m embarrassed to admit how long it took me… @fantillisdaylight thank you for trusting me with this idea and I hope I have done it justice! this one gets hot people, that was the aim so let’s all hope I did it!
Tumblr media
You had always been someone Luca kept in his mind.
Becoming best friends with Adam when the boys signed to the Chicago Steel was probably one of the best things that had ever happened to you. He was the reason the University of Michigan went from third on your list of potentials to first. The Fantilli boy quickly became your person as he knew you like the back of his hand.
That’s why you ended up a little lost when he made the jump from college to the NHL. The man who kept you sane was no longer there and that what made you sink into the crowd as you needed a new sense of direction. So when Nick showed up it felt like your calls had all been answered with one swift movement.
Luca grew envious by how quickly you rekindled your friendship with the Moldenhauer boy who everyone swore had a crush on you. The thoughts were things that you had heard and anyone would have lied if they said they didn’t enjoy hearing how guys felt about them. But a level of greed seemed to seep into your mind as you turned into a glutton, taking the boys flirting yet still wanting more from other guys.
You thought you were slick as you would have multiple guys in your phone as you basked in the attention, but you had your favourite’s. Your main rule was that you never had these boys in your room, you could flirt but nothing was allowed to cross any lines as you were having fun.
Yet by the time the cold and icy air that January brought, so came a level of frustration that not even watching snow fall outside your window could cure. You were sexually frustrated and after weeks of contemplating and having to accept that your vibrator wasn’t strong enough to cure it. With the help of your friends you came up with the idea that would make you irresistible and if you were lucky more than one guy would end up in your trap.
Just as you hoped from the moment you walked into that party heads turned to watch you. Your black skirt was tight around your ass and your white cropped polo was barely keeping your bra hidden. Luca and Nick each stared at you from where they stood and you did little to hide your smirk “hey boys.” You stopped in front of them as you smiled.
You swore the boys had to be stupid to not see the way you had both of them in your hands “come here with anyone tonight?” Luca asked as he scanned the path behind you only to see a few of your friends from your dorm building walking on together “couldn’t I come see my favorite host alone?” You teased as the sophomore hockey players were hosting tonight after a run of big wins came from the team “you know I won’t turn down seeing you sweets.” The boy had given you the nickname years ago yet somehow it still brought a blush to your cheeks after all this time.
Nick resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he watched the sight before his eyes “you want a drink?” The question slipped from his lips reminding the sophomores that he was there “only if you’ll have one too.” The wink you sent him made any and all jealousy that he had practically vanish from his mind.
He let his hand lock into yours as he pulled you towards the kitchen. A smirk formed on Nicks lips as he could feel the glare that Luca sent him “happy to see you tonight princess.” Nick mumbled sending shivers down your spine.
Luca let a scowl form on his face as bile built up in his throat, if Nick wanted you to play this game then he was going to have a worthy opponent in Luca.
The party continued on and now with a slight buzz and a beer soaked shirt from when Gavin bumped into you. The bathroom seemed to call your name as you pressed your hand against the wall keeping you upright “you enjoying making a mess sweets?” Luca teased turning his attention from the blonde girl who had been up against the wall next to him.
You shook your head as you groaned “Gav did.” His face hardened as he left the girl irritated “gotta help my girl.” Luca shrugged as he sent you a smile.
His hand pressed to the small of your back ignoring her complaints as he ushered you into the bathroom “didn’t need you to come with me.” You mumbled as the door shut behind you “missed you tonight sweets.” Luca smiled as he watched you strip out of your white revealing your sticky pink bra.
He’d be lying if he said that as he watched you pat down your sticky skin, Luca felt his cock throb as his eyes trailed down to your skirt that seemed even shorter “clearly you did.” You scoffed as you shook your head think back to the girl who was next to him not even a few minutes ago.
A laugh left his lips as you furrowed your eyebrows “you jealous?” Sure she was a pretty little blonde, and sure she was exactly his type but she wasn’t you. And for Luca that mattered the most “please you think I care about what you do with some-” you were cut off as his lips hit yours.
His hand reached up as it tugged in your hair “lu.” You moaned leaving your mouth open as it gave him a chance to slide his tongue into your mouth “mhm.” He groaned pushing you against the sink as you sat up on the counter.
He pulled away giving him the chance to see your swollen lips as you looked up at him “some what?” Luca smirked as you sent him a glare “you gonna let me have you pretty girl?” He asked dropping his head to your neck as he began to nip at your skin taking in the taste of the beer.
A whimper left your lips as you pressed your thighs together “you have me Lu.” You nodded as the pool within your panties became far too much for you to handle “fuck who knew I needed to kiss you to get you like this?” The hockey player teased dropping his hand between your legs letting his fingers dance against your thighs.
He watched in awe as you bit your lower lip “fucking do it before I find someone else.” The warning made his eyes go sharp “like who?” Luca didn’t want for your response as he began fiddling with your panties “Nick.” A penny dropped in his mind as Luca ripped the fabric that covered your cunt like it was nothing “Luca!”
Your groan echoed off of the walls as the boy laughed “c’mon you know I’ll get you another pair if that’s what you were worried about sweets.” Luca clicked his tongue as he finally pressed his fingers against your cunt.
You shuddered at his touch feeling himself drive his fingers up and down your slit “you’re fucking soaked.” He gasped into your ear before he went to suck at your ear lobe “please.” You whimpered pushing your hips closer to him.
Luca rolled his eyes as he began letting his lips nip at your skin. Your eyes screwed shut as you were lulled by his actions. His lips moved down your chest as he kissed between the valley of your breasts “just fucking do something god.” You grumbled as you were ready to unclip your bra for him to speed it up.
The boy shook his head as be smiled “you gonna let me taste you before you start acting like a brat?” Luca quipped back making you nod your head repeatedly as though he couldn’t see you.
He didn’t take long as he dropped to his knees hooking his hands under your legs pulling you closer to the edge of the sink “such a pretty pussy.” The hockey players mumbled kissing up your thighs as he made sure to not miss a spot “god please.” You begged feeling his breath against your cunt.
Time seemed to stop as your body almost double downed in pleasure when his tongue lay flat on your slit “that’s how I got to shut you up?” Luca clicked his tongue as he let out a chuckle. The boy squeezed your legs as he moaned at the mere tug of your hand through his hair.
His tongue focused on your clit like you were his last meal “right there.” You mumbled rolling your hips against him. As his cock now hurt in his boxers Luca didn’t even care about it as he watched you have that fucked out look on your face.
In fact he was so focused on you that he didn’t notice the door opening “oh.” Nick looked at the sight with wide eyes and as he spoke it made you use the little energy you had left to look at him “fucking shut the door!” Luca groaned replacing his tongue with his thumb on your clit.
Nick was quickly brought back to wart as he was reminded of the fact that there was a party literally on the other side of the wall “c’mere Nick.” You cooed curling your finger in your direction as you looked at him “we won’t bite.” You added letting your lips form a loose smile.
He nodded finally shutting the door making the effort to lock the door “this what you wanted baby?” Luca teased pulling his head back to your cunt where he went back to his meal “wanted to both.” You confessed making Nick smile as he finally walked over to you.
You watched Nick as he cupped your jaw “want to kiss you.” You mewled as Nick finally listened to you. His lips were rough against yours as you melted at his touch.
Luca couldn’t help it as he pinched your hip reminding you that he was still there “fuck!” You groaned pushing your head against the mirror “enjoying this baby?” Luca teased bringing you back to the image of him between your thighs.
Nick continued to kiss down your neck as he sucked at your sensitive skin “so much.” You whimpered as the boy reached behind your back with one hand to unclasp your bra. Both boys looked in awe as your breasts were freed from their constraints as your bra was thrown to the floor “you been hiding these from us?” Nick let out a grunt as he rolled your nipple between his fingers.
The room grew hot as you had one nipping at your breast and the other between your legs “you see how fucking needy she is for us?” Luca’s rough voice had you shivering as your thighs squeezed his head “can’t wait to see what she’s like around a cock.” Nicks vulgar words made Luca laugh as he kissed your cunt.
His tongue lashed against you and with each swipe your strength wavered “more?” You whimpered now infatuated with the idea of both boys sending you over the edge as their cocks stuffed your cunt and your mouth. Nick seemed to be on the same wavelength as you as he nodded “go make a mess on his tongue pretty girl and then I’ll let you get a taste okay?” The freshman watched in awe as your hair began to stick to the back of your neck from swear as your body shook almost overwhelmed from the pleasure you felt “Lu I’m gonna come.” You announced and you swore it only made him increase the pace of his tongue.
Feelings overwhelmed you as your mouth fell open yet it seemed that not a single sound left your lips as your eyes rolled back “fuck she’s a needy little thing huh?” Nick laughed as he kept his hands on your shoulders forcing your body to stay still as you came “fuck off!” You groaned making him scoff “gonna make you wish you didn’t say that.” Luca was too focused still lapping up the taste of your release to even notice that Nick had his hand pressed against the shell of your ear as he whispered.
As you tugged on Luca’s hair once more he finally pulled away as he was reminded of the fact that he wanted at least one more orgasm out of you. A smirk laced his facial expressions as his chin glistened from your juices that had made a mess on his face “you’ve got such a sweet fucking cunt.” Luca announced as he ran his fingers through your folds separating them in the process “look at how soaked she is.” Nick swore he had gone to heaven when he got the chance to look at you.
A look of almost shame found itself on your face “all for us isn’t it baby?” The freshman spoke in a hushed tone that had you just about ready to roll over and turn into a puddle “I need your cocks.” You groaned as the sudden feeling of Lucas fingers teasing your hole and Nick’s thumb on your cunt growing too overstimulating for you.
That was all it seemed to take from you to have Nick helping you off of the sink as you stood up straight “who do you want first?” Luca palmed his boner through his pants “want him in my mouth.” Your eyes locked with Nick as the image of Luca between your legs became just as strong.
The movements were quick, like in the blink of an eye and you were between both boys with Nicks hands around your neck and Luca’s one pinching into your hip “god you don’t know how much I’ve wanted this.” Luca felt like he forgot to breathe as he guided his cock to your clit spreading his precum over the sensitive nub as he teased your slit.
Your mouth far too occupied to complain though as Nick had his lips against yours. If this was any other moment Luca could have possibly found it in his heart to see the boys joy in the fact that Nick was finally getting with the girl of his dreams. But as you paid little attention to Luca it made him grow jealous, so with that he didn’t hesitate to slam his hips against yours as he gave you little time to adjust to how your walls swallowed his cock “fuck!” You moaned almost watching your legs give out as surprise mixed with amusement and you began to feel your mind go numb.
You let your hand brush down Nicks torso as it slid beneath the drawstring of his shorts “you want me that bad princess?” It took everything from Nick to not pass out in that very moment as he watched your eyes go full as your breasts bounced each time Luca bottomed you out.
It seemed that Nick was no longer going to try to have you in his tough guy act as he instead gave you what he wanted pulling his boner from his boxers as he let it hit his pubic bone “bro you should have gotten this pussy.” Luca groaned as he slapped your ass.
As your mouth fell open Nick took the opportunity to slide his cock into it “there you go pretty girl.” The freshman cooed as he clutched his fingers into your hair as it made you moan out in pleasure “think this is what she wanted all along?” Luca asked as the squelching sounds of your cunt that mixed with the sounds of your gags were like music to his ears.
You couldn’t help but let your cunt clench around him as your walls squeezed his length as you attempted to look up at Nick “looks like you fucking love being our little slut don’t ya?” When you didn’t answer him his hand tugged at your roots unintentionally making you open your mouth wider “hmm.” Your voice came with an inaudible moan that sent vibrations through Nicks body.
Luca let out a grunt as you hadn’t let up on the squeeze around his cock “fuck sweets if you don’t loosen yourself I’m not gonna last.” The warning made you whimper as you swirled your tongue around Nicks cock forcing your back to arch as you tried to take most of his cock forcing yourself to breathe through your nose.
This new angle also meant that Luca was hitting a further spot within you and with that came even more pleasure for all three of you as your throat loosened as the strain on your neck softened “think she deserves her second?” Nick had pushed his fingers to the base of your scalp forming a makeshift ponytail to get better control of his thrusts as he fucked your face.
The Fantilli boy shook his head as he heard you moan at the offer “no I think little sweets here should make you come first.” His words came with his hand on your clit like a bit of encouragement to get you to make him last longer than his younger teammate.
Your eyes were close to rolling back into your head as you gasped swirling your tongue around Nick’s cock like your life depended on it “don’t stop pretty girl.” The coo had your legs shaking as you were left certain that without Luca hand gripping at your hip you would have had your face in the floor “I’m gonna come fuck!” Nick let out a groan as he let his cock slide out from your mouth before his hand replaced where your tongue was “open those pretty little lips f’me.” As his hand began to jerk himself of Nick finally hit his release.
He watched in awe as the warm sticky ropes of his release shot from his aching cock and began to paint your lower face and even found as far as to land on your collar bones only making you moan louder as you felt it. Luca kept his hand locked in your hair as he kept your face from dropping “you close sweets?” The boys wanton expression made you mewl as his other hand stayed pressed against your stomach forcing you to feel how deep his cock went in your cunt.
A flurry of incoherent words flew from your lips as you nodded “so big.” Was the only thing that either of them could understand “is that a yes princess?” Nick let out a grunt as he found his lips hovering over yours as he took the moment to see the mess he had made on your skin “please.” The relentless pounding of Luca’s cock had your legs shaking as your ears rang.
The boys laughter taunted you “know you can beg better than that you.” Nick clicked his tongue as he pecked your lips watching your eyes flutter “want to make a mess for you please.” You whimpered feeling your cunt throb around his teammates cock “let yourself go then pretty girl.” As Luca huffed the words out wondering how much longer he could last within the bounds of your heavenly cunt.
You didn’t need to be told twice as Nick let your lips go as your moans echoed off of the walls as Luca’s orgasm was brought on by yours “right there sweets.” The sophomore grunted as his cock coated your walls fucking you through your orgasm.
Your chest heaved as you came down from it still feeling your core full as his thumb drew faint circles on your clit “enough.” You squirmed feeling a level of sensitivity build up between your legs once more “since you asked so nicely sweets.” Luca teased sliding his cock out of you letting you fall into Nicks arms.
The younger boy placed a kiss to your head as he smiled “Luca you in there!” Rutger groaned as he knocked on the door reminding the three of you that the party was still coming on downstairs.
Luca couldn’t help but groan as he watched Nick smirk “yeah.” Luca raked his fingers through his hair “we’re downstairs playing beer pong so hurry up!” the blondes words made a smile form on your face as you laughed “maybe leave the girl in there though.” He trailed off making your eyes go wide as you were reminded of the fact that they could hear you.
The Fantilli boy sighed as he pecked your lips reaching down for his shorts that were on the floor “stay with me?” You croaked out throat still raw as you looked at Nick.
He nodded as he lifted you back onto the sink as you both watched the older boy leave before Nick locked the door again “how are you feeling pretty girl?” The words made you smile as a giddy feeling built in your chest “this your version of after talk?” You let out a laugh as you watched him walk over to you.
The way his eyes stared at you made you feel so exposed, even as you were naked “liked making a mess on you.” He confessed as he brushed his fingers over your collarbone when he smiled.
Your hand was as placed over his as you nodded “it doesn’t have to end there Nick.” Your proposal made his ears perk up in surprise “what do you mean?” He mumbled as you cupped his face letting your hands squeeze his cheeks.
His eyes intently stared at yours as he waited for your answer “just that I wanna spend just a little more time with ya Nicky.” You cooed letting your lips hover over his “don’t know if I can do it.” His confession made you frown as he feared he had done the wrong thing “you trust me to walk you through it?” Your strong demeanour was replaced by this soft one.
A smile sat strong on his face as he nodded “have me just how you want me tonight.” Nick mumbled as you were fully in control of him. He was surprised as he watched you tug at his shirt “then it’s not fair that I’m the only one who is naked.” There was a hint of amusement in your words as you helped him get rid of his shirt and his shorts.
Just like before Nick was attractive to you as you couldn’t help but smile “you’re such a pretty boy.” You cooed letting your saliva drop to his cock as you began to run your hand up his length as you pumped his cock in an attempt to get him hard again “just for you.” Nick groaned as you kissed his lips reminding him of the fact that he was now the centre of your attention.
It took a few more pumps of your hand for him to grow hard again and you did a few more just to tease him “I’m not gonna last if you keep doing that.” He gasped letting his teeth sink into your shoulder as his cock began to throb in your hand as the precum oozed from his tip “watch this f’me pretty boy.” You ordered feeling a sense of power over the boy as he nodded practically lapping up your demands like they were nothing.
You drove the swollen head over your clit making you both shudder in the process “please.” Nick whined desperate to have more of you “since you asked so nicely.” You teased sliding his cock down your slit before you let it slowly slide into your cunt.
The air around you both grew warm as you both watched how your soaked pussy swallowed his cock like it was nothing “fuck!” You gaped biting down on your lip as you saw his pubic bone hit your clit as your legs went up on either side of him to accommodate him.
A smile formed on his face as he let out a little laugh “you good princess?” He asked as he let his hands setting on your hips “think I should be asking you that.” You quipped back finally losing your strong expression as he pinched the flesh of your ass.
It made him roll his eyes as he began slowly pulling his hips away from you before he brought them back “you can go harder pretty boy.” You mumbled wrapping your arms around his neck.
The thought was hot in your brain as you realised that Nick was fucking you with Luca’s come as his lube since it still coated your cunt “you still so needy after all that?” Nick let out a dry laugh as he began to taunt you “f’you.” You swore your brain was being rewired as it only made his confidence grow.
Nick began to pick up his pace as he nipped at your throat “was waiting to get you like this.” The freshman revealed as his voice was a low rasp “had to watch you be his girl.” He grumbled making his efforts stronger as it caused your breasts to bounce with each thrust.
A low moan left your lips “wanted to have you be all mine but you just had to be a little slut and want us both huh?” Part of you was surprised at how vocal he was “wanted to be your girl too.” You mewled bringing your hand between you two as you began to rub at your clit still feeling sensitive from your first two orgasms.
The sound of your squelching cunt echoed off of the walls “you get to show me that now.” Nick had been jealous the entire night having to fight Luca for every bit of your attention and he had now grown tired of it.
His cock pulsed in your core as his hands kept you planted on the counter “you’re so big.” You whined locking your legs on Nicks hips “should have let you fuck me in Chicago.” He tensed at the mention of your home city but as it made you moan he thought he was unnoticed.
Nick grew tired of kissing your neck as he swatted your hand away from your clit as he replaced it with his own “you don’t know how long I have been thinking about this pretty little cunt of yours.” You clenched around him as you heard his words “but I think you already knew how good you are.” He scoffed pinching your skin as he knew how the other guys were around you.
You were keeping your eyes screwed shut as you felt your stomach tighten “I’m gonna-“ the words couldn’t leave your lips before Nick cut you off “fucking hold it.” The hockey player growled having other things in mind for you.
A whimper was stuck in your throat “you wanted to come then you have to fucking beg.” Nick spat as his free hand was pressed up against the mirror behind you.
If this was any other moment you would have put up a fight but as your cunt was clenched and your body was close to losing it “I just want to be your little slut Nick.” You announced pressing your head against the glass behind you “make a mess on your cock and make you feel so fucking good.” Your promise made him smirk as he kissed your lips letting his teeth nip at your lower lip “make that mess.”
It was as though the heavens opened as you swore you heard the sounds of prayer bells playing in your ears “don’t fucking stop please.” You begged using the little strength that you had left to writhe your hips against him “come in me.” The words left your lips washing away any nerves that the boy might have had.
The room felt warm as your eyes fluttered “shit shit shit!” You chanted as you came clenching his cock as you spurred in his orgasm “right there!” Nick gritted as he continued to fuck you through your orgasm.
As he finally slowed down Nick watched your chest heave “you okay pretty girl?” His voice was soft as he kissed your cheek letting his cock slide out of your cunt “I’m good.” You mumbled as you nodded.
It was sweet as Nick smiled “you want a moment up here or you ready to go down?” He asked as he reached down for your panties “let’s go.” You felt your heart grow full at the gesture and you were going to be excited to learn that his levels of aftercare would only grow to improve from that night onwards.
You had felt weird the last few weeks. Sure the memory of that night was on replay in your mind as you started seeing the boys more frequently, both together and alone. So like any normal and responsible young adult you googled your symptoms and found three different things you could have been going through. One was something that you were about thirty years too young to be experiencing, the second was one you hoped it wasn’t. And the third was one you could have proven wrong with the simple action of peeing on a stick.
Truly you thought it was going to be nothing. Which is why you didn’t mind waiting for those three minutes to run right by. Of course though luck was never meant to truly be on your side as this was college and what better way to add stress to your life than a baby. But it didn’t end there, you didn’t even know who the father was because you had been sleeping with two guys who were also best friends.
So as the two thick lines stared back at you as though it was trying to mock you, you couldn’t help but groan “fuck!” As you slammed the test on the ground hoping that it would erase your current reality.
That wasn’t going to work though as this baby wasn’t going anywhere and you had somethings you needed to figure out, starting with whose goddamn baby, were you carrying?

okay so…not that anyone asked but i have some…thoughts about this discourse surrounding jack’s signing last night
and honestly….i’m sad. i’m so insanely sad that so many people who claim to love this team are so quick to assume jack is a lost cause asshole. i think so much of it is entitlement. and yeah, as people, everyone deserve kindness and overall base level social behaviors. but where is that for jack right now?
where’s the grace and understanding that he’s tired. they likely had a day full of practice and drills and workouts before this signing. i mean, did he even get to go home before he was expected to sit and sign autographs for hours? why was he alone? why didn’t they put him with someone else? i know the answer is likely because he was the most sought after signature there and they didn’t want to make his line even longer, but still. i feel like jack has been very open and intentional with the fact he doesn’t like to do media. he wants to play hockey and go home.
and yeah, he also knew it came with the territory, but it doesn’t matter. if you sign up to be a teacher, you know there’s going to be early mornings, but that doesn’t mean you have to like getting up early. if you agree to work in healthcare, you know there’s going to aspects of the job that are gross and unfortunate, but it doesn’t mean you have to like cleaning up bodily fluids. the same can be said for these guys. they signed up to be professional hockey players, they knew media and signings and events were going to be expected of them, but it doesn’t mean they have to like it.
but back to entitlement thing. i think it has become so normalized to create personas for real people in our heads that people are quite literally unable to separate the fantasy from reality. and i mean, i’ll even say i contribute to the problem. all fanfic writers do. we create these idealized and fictional versions of these men, but the ability to differentiate between the two cannot be lost in the process. but i think it has been. i think there’s this unrealistic expectation thrust upon all of them, but especially jack.
he’s popular, he’s cutie, and he’s good at hockey. of course he’s going to have a mass following. but…he’s just a guy, y’all. he’s a guy that has bad days, good days, who gets tired, who has a social battery. and last night, i think that social battery had just run out. do you know how long he’s been watched and in the media? do you know how long he’s been the most watched hughes, the expectations he’s carried on him for years?
i just think there needs to be some compassion and grace here. going back to the whole “people pay to watch me play” incident is a little excessive, imo. i mean, are we going to hold every single player to everything they’ve ever said in the box? does it define who they are and their character? i have not once seen anyone berate and question quinn’s character when he told someone they were “fucking nothing”. which, if you really want to get down to it, is worse than what jack said.
but no, jack is expected to be this guy with rainbows coming out of his ass all the time, apparently. i think the concept of social cues and situational awareness has been so lost because of the screen culture right now. people do so much communication through screens and phones that they forget, people aren’t always enthusiastic and bright, even if they add an exclamation point to their text. last night was not something jack chose to do of his own accord. he was told to do it, and he did it. he made sure the kids had a good time and felt cared for. he signed everything that came across his table. could he have been a little more chatty? yeah. could he have maybe smiled a bit more? yeah.
but seriously, he knew he was going to have to sign a million different items and see a million different people. the whole point of a signing is just that. if he was even remotely going to get out of there on time, there’s no way he could have had any meaningful conversation with every single person. and i feel like he’s said before he prioritizes/likes kids? i could be wrong, so don’t hold me to that.
but the point is, this whole situation is so sad and such a good example of how gossip blogs only care about getting likes and reblogs and attention. they don’t care about these players, no matter how much they claim to. and people are so quick to take everything they read for fact. personally, i think jack is just…antisocial.
i think he has a persona on the ice because he’s in his element, he’s comfortable, and he’s excited to be there. when he’s with his family and around his friends, he seems to be an overall happy guy. but around strangers? strangers that want to talk about his stats, how he played in this game or that game, that are shoving their items in his face to sign, people that he’ll likely never see again? he doesn’t give too much away.
and before people mention the being snippy and short with the workers, i wasn’t there so i didn’t see what happened. if he was, i’m not defending that behavior, but i don’t think it’s because he thinks he’s above them or thinks he’s “god’s gift to hockey” like i’ve seen thrown around so much today. we have all been snappy with people we shouldn’t have before. it doesn’t mean someone is this terrible person with a high horse attitude. i think it’s a combination of fatigue, stress, and maybe even some anxious energy that had been built up and made its way out.
anyways, i’ve said enough i think, and this will be the first and only time i talk about this, but i had too many thoughts swirling in my brain to just keep them there. be nice. show grace. you’re allowed to be disappointed if you attended last night and felt like he was maybe dry and dismissive, but please step back and put yourself in his shoes. not every person has a social and yappy personality. some people don’t speak unless they have something to say. and that’s okay!!!
and for the love of god, quit giving gossip blogs what they so desperately crave

“Can I sleep with you? with timo !!!
I’m All Yours || Timo Meier
Prompt: 29. “Can I sleep with you?”
Word count: 1.4k
A/N: I’m actively fist fighting writers block as I’m posting this. I also didn’t edit this so if my grammar is all over the place we should maybe focus on something else.
Tumblr media
You were stubborn. You knew this and accepted it. Everyone had faults and some people refused to ever look in the mirror and face theirs. However, your stubbornness was not something you had to reflect on and learn about yourself. You had been a stubborn child, something that had gotten you into trouble often, and even now you were a stubborn adult.
Usually, it wasn’t a problem in your relationship.
Tonight was different, though.
Tonight was supposed to be your night together. The season had just ended and you finally had your boyfriend all to yourself. So when the two of you had gone out for dinner, just you and him in what felt like forever, you were delighted. When he looked at you with such admiration in his eyes or when he held your smaller hand within his own as he drove to the restaurant, it felt like a battle to not throw up the butterflies that were fluttering about in your stomach.
When the waitress had come to the table and made it abundantly clear that Timo was going to be at the sole focus of her attention. Every time she giggled or blushed, your heart had sunken deeper and the sips you had taken from your glass of wine had become longer. Timo hadn’t told a joke or shown any interest in her. In all the time the two of you had been together he had never done anything to make you feel as though he even thought of straying away from your relationship.
That wasn’t the point, though, and that was what he didn’t understand. He only looked at you with confusion as you slowly stopped contributing in the conversation. The confusion had turned to irritation when during the car ride back home you were quiet. Your cheeks were warm from the alcohol and there was an envious angry little monster in your chest that just wanted to rear its head.
Your boyfriend was charming, athletic and easy on the eyes. It wasn’t hard to understand the attention that he received and during the hockey season you were fine to step back and watch with a smile as people flocked to him. This was the off-season, though, and it was supposed to be your time with your boyfriend but it seemed as if you couldn’t even have that.
That was what he didn’t understand.
“I can’t control if someone decides to flirt with me,” he had said, annoyed that he even had to have this argument. He thought you would understood that and see that he never indulged those who batted their eyelashes at him.
“That’s not why I’m upset,” you scoffed, not looking at Timo. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at your boyfriend and be reminded how even though you felt as though you were entirely his, he was never fully yours.
You had made your way into your shared bedroom and were struggling to undo the straps of your heels when Timo walked through the bedroom door. It only took one glance at the man to know that he was slowly losing his patience. His neatly combed hair was all over the place, probably from running his hands through it.
You looked away. You knew if you really took him in and saw the confused frustration on his face your anger would seep out of your body and for just a little while you wanted to sit in your simmering anger.
“Why are you upset then?” He asked.
When you finally managed to pull your shoes off you sighed and kicked them to the side. Timo watched, noting how you didn’t pick them up and put them in their place in the closet like you usually did.
“Did you even realize that tonight was the first night that we were spending together, alone and to ourselves in months?”
“That’s not true.” Timo said immediately.
“Oh? When was the last time we actually spent time together? Just you and me?” Your voice cracked as you asked him. You knew when the last time was and you were even more certain that Timo didn’t.
“Schatz-,” Timo sighed and took a step closer to you only for you to shake your head and step further away.
“I’ve accepted that I have to share you with everyone but it would be nice if you could actually want to spend time with just me,” you said bitterly.
You grabbed a pillow from your side of the bed when you felt a lump start to form in your throat. You didn’t want to cry but more than that you didn’t want to cry in front of Timo.
“I’m gonna spend tonight in the living room, goodnight.” You dodged his arms as you left your bedroom with your pillow and pajamas in your arms.
He called out for you again but knew better than to come after you. Sometimes you needed a minute to yourself.
However, a few minutes had turned into a few hours and you were still sitting on the couch. At this point, the only thing keeping you in the living room was your own stubbornness. You were still upset but the anger you had felt earlier had slowly ebbed away and now you just wanted to crawl into your comfortable bed and fall asleep in Timo’s open arms. You didn’t want to appear like a misbehaved dog that was coming back to its master with its tail between its legs. You weren’t wrong and a part of you needed your boyfriend to know that too.
You pulled the throw blanket you had pulled from the end of the couch tighter around yourself as you watched the clock that hung on the wall. With each tick that moved the arms of the clock you grew more antsy and after thirty minutes you finally sat up.
Grabbing your pillow and standing up you decided that you would be annoyed with your actions tomorrow. Tonight you just needed to feel your boyfriends strong arms around you.
Padding softly to your bedroom you silently hoped that Timo had fallen asleep. That way you wouldn’t have to explain yourself.
You didn’t get so lucky. As you stood in the door way to your bedroom Timo blinked back at you from your large bed. He wasn’t small by any means but looking on it seemed as if the bed was trying to swallow him whole.
“Can I sleep with you?” It was almost a whisper. You felt childish but also wary asking if. What if he was angry with you for being so upset earlier? You didn’t have anything left in you to fight again tonight.
Without hesitating Timo opened his arms for you. You wasted no time in striding over and crawling into the bed. You dropped your pillow in its usual spot and then promptly ignored it as you laid your head on Timo’s muscular chest. His arms closed around you and the warmth that enveloped you was enough to make you set out a sigh of relief.
Your eyes started to flutter shut as Timo rubbed soothing circles on your warm. You thought you were going to fall asleep without either of you saying anything but Timo whispered in the darkness, “it was during the preseason. When we went on a walk through the park and you ate the entire pretzel we were meant to share.”
You stiffened, jolted into a more awake state by his words.
“What?”
“The last time we spent time together,” he said, quiet and slowly as if he was afraid you’d turn away from him. “Just the two of us.”
“Timo-,” you said, just as quietly. You thought he had forgotten. That once the season started up again the only thing that he thought about was the game he played and those he played with and for.
“You have every right to be angry. Tonight was supposed to be about the two of us and I’m sorry that I didn’t see that you were upset earlier.”
You took in what he was saying in silence. You could hear and feel how sorry he was in the way he spoke and how he held you. The two of you definitely needed to talk more about this but that could wait until the sun was shining and you were both clear minded and awake. Tonight you only needed one thing.
“You’re all mine?”
You asked him, hating how fragile and hopeful you sounded.
He turned his head to the side so his lips brushed against your forehead as he spoke softly, saying the words as though they were a promise, “all yours.”

i’m seated for some sneak peaks of things you have in the drafts hehe
here's a blurb for munch frat!peter:
'hand this card to the last person to eat pussy.'
tarrent has a gleam in his eye as he proudly pushes it into peter's chest. 'drink up, bro.'
you're not watching, the content of your cup is more interesting. but you're listening to see exactly how peter plays this one off because he hasn't even tried- let alone offered to go down on you.
peter hands the card back. 'nah, i don't do that.' he says it like it's a joke and his friends laugh with him, like he's too humble to accept the crown title of carpet muncher.
---
here's a blurb for hockey!peter fighting for his life over a jersey
'hey, can i have a kiss?' the audacity. you cross your arms again and look to the side, 'no.' peter frowns, you lean away when you feel his lips on your cheek.
'no? not even after i just won?'
'you didn't deserve it.' you grumble it from the side of your mouth, peter catches it and feels offended. 'don't get pouty and tell me i deserved to lose.'
you turn to him, your eyes screamed fire at him. 'don't humilate me and demand a kiss then.'
---
here's a blurb for cherry!peter who's doing the best he can to make cherry's sex dream come to life
'i've been so good, haven't i been so good for you?' peter can sense a little bit of a praise kink in you, it's fitting. 'you're always good for me. you're my good girl, aren't you?'
a whimper, it's so much better when it's real. 'i'm your good girl.' a harsh grind, you clutch peter's forearm while you throw your head back. 'yeah? that feels good?'
'call me your pretty baby.' peter doesn't know where the direction is coming from but he likes it. 'does my pretty baby feel good?' an audible moan, he's fucking perfect at this.
---
here's a blurb for bf!frat!peter with a girlfriend who should always come first
peter is totally saving you for last and you're about to go nuts on him. sure, there might be a line of people and sure, you might be the one in the least danger but you're owed some sort of urgency.
'hello?' you call it out, you sound impatient. 'spider-man?' you are impatient. you call for him again, he holds up a hand and you gasp. 'oh you little- spider-man, you better come help me right now or i swear to god i'll...' you have no real threat. 'just don't tempt me!'
peter doesn't come help you, he's still helping an older woman and you're about to throw yourself into a fire for some attention. 'excuse me? i'm looking for my boyfriend, have you seen him?'
---
here's a blurb from that blurb... you know... the one where peter has hooked up with trouble's friend?
if peter was a brat, he'd say that you're not supposed to be talking to him. instead, he extends his hand out and watches heavy footing beat up the staircase. the second his door slams, his best friend is asking what the fuck happened with his eyes.
'she's mad at me.' his door swings open, you shout down to him. 'i'm not mad! we're broken up!' another slam. ethan's expecting a lot more from peter than a shrug. 'no we're not.'
his door hits the wall, another scream, 'yes we are!' a third slam, this time, he's got two friends coming out of their rooms and glancing between his bedroom door and the lower level where peter had crossed arms.
'what's going-' peter flails his arms around, trying to stop the impending question and what he knows is all you need to give him a round two, but worse because now you're no longer in public.
a sheepish grin crosses over a brother's face when his door explodes open, peter thinks there might be a hole behind his door where the handle matches up perfectly.
---
here's a blurb where ethan walks in on sexy time :(
'liar! he saw me from behind!' you know he did, it was all on show. everything's ruined. peter's trying his best to be soothing. 'hey, even if he did, he won't say anything. it's ethan, you know ethan.'
you do. that's why it's so bad. the reminder makes you cry harder, peter connects the dots. 'oh jeez, trouble. here, come give me a hug.' it's a pathetic reach, you want nothing more than to be locked away in his hold, hidden and secret from the outside world.
'he-' you suck in air, curling in even closer to peter as if you weren't on his lap already. 'he saw me having sex.' you pull peter's arms tighter around you, it almost hurts it's so tight. it's what you need.
'i know, baby. i'm so sorry.' at least he's being honest.
'how much did he see?' peter doesn't know either, he was a little busy underneath you. he just knows the second he saw his door open, his instinct was to protect you.
'very little.' you feel kisses over your head, 'please stop crying.'
---
here's a blurb where nerdy!peter has no filter when he's drunk
'hi, honey.' you hold his arm tightly, 'don't lean over.' bending at the waist you reach for the keys, peter groans and shouts an exaggerated 'oh my god!'
you fly up, the metal tucked between your fingers. 'what?' you look around, peter's busy staring down your skirt while his teeth sink into his bottom lip. 'your ass is so nice.'
you suck in a deep breath and ignore the flush of warmth covering your chest. 'thank you, petey.' you ignore the slight shake in your hand when you shove the key in.
peter's door gets stuck a lot and you have to shove your shoulder into it a little. while you're doing your best to raid the door, a hand slides up the back of your thigh and gives you a tight squeeze. you jump and yelp, your hand reaching back to throw his off.
'peter!' he giggles and turns his head like you wouldn't be able to see him anymore. 'i just wanted to touch it a little.' peter's fingertips lightly drag up your thigh, you slap it away again. he giggles harder, the sound bubbles out of him.
'i'm trying to get us inside, leave my butt alone.' you have his promise, and you nudge the door a little, a sharp smack has you wipping around to face him. peter shoots his hands up, 'last one, i promise! that was the last one!'

Hiii, if you’re interested, could I request Eddie but as an ice hockey player?? Your writing is out of this world and I would just love to read about his flushed cheeks after practice or something like that. I hope you’re doing great and I love your stuff❤️❤️❤️
thank you so much, for your request and for being so lovely, it means the world to me! ♡ fem!reader, 1.2k
He comes flying across the ice like he's weightless. A dropping sensation hits your stomach while your heart leaps into your throat, but Eddie saves himself at the last minute with a quick, hard turn, his left foot further out. Ice curls in his wake, sheared by the sharp blade of his skate.
"How was that?" he calls up to you where you're sitting in the second row of the stands.
"You can really see a difference," you say, crossing one leg over the other and hiding your frigid fingers between your thighs. "The two hundred metre sprints must be working, Eds. You're like a fricking whippet, it's scary."
"They better be working," he says. "God, I fucking hate sprints."
Eddie hates every aspect of his conditioning workouts. He loves hockey, and if he wants to be able to keep up with the rest of his team, let alone the opposition, he needs to stay fit in ways that are specific to the sport, so the sprints are a necessary evil.
He doesn't care for much of it. The deadlifting is a good look on him, though. Watching his muscles physically get bigger in size has been an Experience, capital 'E'. His weight gain in general, actually.
"Do you feel tired?" you ask.
Eddie groans, putting his arm up and behind his head, forcing his elbow down with the opposite hand. He doesn't realise how salalcious he appears, worse when he scrunches his eyes closed and turns his face to one side. "I always feel tired. This is good, though. Maybe Steve'll stop busting my ass at practice for getting winded before the third period."
You're glad it's so cold in the rink. His grumpy expression has you flushing all over.
"Steve spends the majority of his time on the ice hunched over," you say. "Of course he doesn't get winded."
You wouldn't feel comfortable making a snide joke about Eddie's friends usually, but Steve knows you. He calls you Eddie's wife, though you aren't married, always trying to feed you hard pretzels while mouthing off about Eddie's shit plays. Hence your nonchalant disparagement.
Eddie grins at you, dropping his arms back down to his sides. "Where're your skates, sweetheart? Come and take a lap with me."
You brought your skates at his request. You'd climb the appalachian trail on your hands and knees if he asked you to, and not just because he's handsome and getting more so everyday, but because he's gorgeous on the inside. Kind of like finding a pretty rock and cracking it open to find gemstone, you'd been drawn to Eddie and his rough exterior, but you've grown to love him for what's inside. His sweetness, his charm. The way he's looking at you now —eyes wide, hopeful. You could believe that the only thing he wants in the whole world is to skate with you.
"I'll slip again," you fret, having already mentally given in.
Eddie knows you have, too. "I am not gonna let you fall over," he promises. "Put your gloves back on, yeah? It's cold."
You put on your skates and gloves and wobble to the gap in the rink walls to step out. Eddie's waiting, taking your elbow into his hand to help you out. He's been playing ice hockey longer than you've known him, and while you've been by his side for his rise to tier 3, you've become less familiar with the ice rather than more. You're frankly intimidated by what he can do. He's fast. He's a great sportsman (with a short fuse, undoubtedly, but he's never unkind to the people around him) (besides that one on-ice official). Eddie's amazing, but he can't give you confidence on the ice. Only practice can do that.
You're not super willing to practise. "Please don't let me fall on my ass, Eddie."
"There's nobody here to see it. And if you fall, I'll help you up, I swear. But you're not going to fall over."
While not specifically true, recreational skaters making lazy laps and a young figure skater working on waltz jumps in the defending zone, his surety makes you feel better.
Being on skates is a strange feeling. Eddie skates with the same ease as he walks. You freeze up, locking your hips. He moves his hand from your elbow to your hand. You can feel his fingers like blocks of ice through your gloves.
"Do you want to try just walking, or would you feel better skating in a circle?" he asks.
"Uh–" Your footing slips. You're panicking. "Um, whatever you want."
His cheeks glow with blush, his nose tip like a budding rose. He doesn't feel the cold anymore, nor fear of falling, setting you both on a speed akin to a light jog. You breathe out with a nervous squeak, fingers locked around his hand.
"You got it," he says, in his way, too cool for you. His voice is awfully pretty sometimes, a little rough, all fond. He dotes via praise, his thumb petting pointless circles into the back of your hand. "You're always better than you think."
"I don't know how you can find this fun," you say nervously.
He tips his chin up, his disorderly bun pressed to the back of his neck. "It's not all fun. Sometimes I don't wanna do it as much as I did when I started, but sometimes I wanna do it more than ever. Like, getting bumped up? Well, you know how I felt."
He'd hugged you so hard the air got knocked out of you. The celebrations were unrestrained.
"I love hockey almost as much as I love you," he says, sending an appreciative smile your way.
Your heart skips. "You love me more than hockey?"
"What kind of a question is that? Of course I do." He slows his skating, slows you with him, and kisses your cheek. His lips are as cold as his fingers. "But I want you to love hockey, so first you need to skate."
"Don't yank me."
"I'm yanking you, sweetheart. It's just like roller-blading."
"I can't rollerblade."
"No?" he asks, picking up his foot and putting it down, his thighs moving outward with each stroke. You scramble to keep up with him.
"Eddie!" you shout, terrified as you swing around a corner. Despite the fear, you know he won't let you get hurt. Well, super hurt.
"You're fine! Come on, let's see if we can meet my lap time." He smiles. Red cheeks, pink lips, and the world's warmest brown eyes. "You should start doing sprints with me. And lifting! That would be hot."
You'd snort if you weren't too busy trying to stay in an upright position. You'll be surprised if Eddie has any bones left in his hand tonight when you're done.
He doesn't once complain about your vice-like grip.
