I was rewatching CR3E49 and Imogen’s dream of her mother, and the moment where it is revealed Imogen’s mom is believing what Ludinus says. It hit me hard once again, and prompted this mess of thoughts that I had to write :

Gods, Liliana showing Imogen these visions of… ? what ? I guess, yeah, what Ludinus has told her will happen once they release Predathos, and what she imagines it will be like... The silence of history, the destruction of fate. And the first reaction in Imogen, once they wake up, is to say “What if it’s not that bad ? What if what we'ree doing is just fighting change ?”. A few weeks ago, Imogen already considered – in passing, in a matter of seconds – that maybe they shouldn’t stop Ludinus ; but I'll admit, I dismissed it quickly because, urgh, Ludinus is creepy so how could anyone think he’s right ??? But now, I command and applaud Laura on this choice. Because it’s horrible but true, why every kind of indoctrination works especially well in families : the simple truth : they’re your parents, and you believe them. The small step of a well-working system of indoctrination. It's insidious. And even though Imogen’s a grown-ass woman, she was clearly not expecting her mom to be a true believer. That caught her off guard. The second she started to say basically “What if we are the ones who are wrong ??”, THAT second was a knee-jerk reaction to a system of indoctrination that works on the back of this kind of relationship, when there is inherent trust between a parent and a child (no matter what the age), a system that corrupts that trust deeply. And THAT is why Orym’s immediate reaction of shutting that down immediately, with emotional ties, in a small but so so powerful phrase (“Well, Imogen, I wish my family didn’t have to die for her brighter tomorrow”) is so, so important, for Imogen to pull out of the small second where she was tempted to align with her mother*.

* did it work ? Is Imogen still believing that what the Bells Hells are doing is right ? or could she be swayed once more if she’s subjected to more imagery and visions of a “brighter tomorrow” ? I’m not against exploring this AT ALL, it could be so interesting. Or did it work ? Is Imogen further convinced and reassured, especially when we add to that her talk with Laudna ? It could also be interesting to explore, to see that what is truly grounding her is her friends, especially Orym and Laudna. Or is she still not sure, and did the talk with Laudna, where Laudna said “I will follow you no matter what” did further rattle her trust in what is right ? I don’t know, and I’m excited to see. After all, exploring the possibilities is just what Fearne and Orym were preparing for…

I will say, the hardest part in hearing that Imogen’s mom is a Ruby Vanguard fanatic is imagining what could happen… Because once again... unfortunately we’re all seeing this kind of indoctrination in today’s shitty world, in religious and culty groups and so-called political groups, or even anti-s’ of so many kinds and whatnot, and so I can imagine how this may work... If Liliana truly believes what Ludinus says, and Imogen truly believes what the Bells Hells are doing is right, she and Imogen will have a moment of confrontation. And if the Ruby Vanguard wins, Liliana may lose Imogen, and the hardest part is… I’m not even sure that even then, she will understand that she was wrong. Because that’s how insidious indoctrination can be. Even when you’re confronted with a fact that 100% proves you wrong, you will always find a way to justify that you were right.

so he stops being a bad cat, steadily losing hope that he’ll ever be human again. and satoru would be lying to himself if he said he didn’t enjoy how you stroked him while you read a book or let him sleep beside you at night. maybe it wasn’t so bad? so he decided then if he was going to be just a cat, he was fine with being your cat.

the higher-ups had taken note of his absence, obviously, and he only knows cause you’ve mentioned it to him. you had this endearingweird quirk where you’d talk to him as if he were a real person.

throughout his stay in your home as a house pet, satoru finds out a lot about you. you’ve always kept to yourself, but you vent your frustrations out to him while he’s like this, and he offers his comfort the best he can. which you appreciate, rewarding him with kisses that he secretly enjoys.

once he turns human again, by some miracle, his first thought is to go and find you. and when he does, you give him the cold shoulder like you used to, and it surprises him. before he realizes that, ah, he wasn’t your pet anymore. he was gojo satoru.

satoru realizes his feelings for you in that moment. when he feels the ache in his chest from your dismissive behavior, it leads him to starting his most important mission yet—winning your heart once more.

but this time, it’ll be as a person, not a damn cat.

after watching several povs, there's something so striking about the way mumbo died.

he dies at home, first of all, which is notable in its own right because so much of his time was spent running about, usually in pursuit of kills. he dies with grian, too— to a thing grian created, no less, but it isn't actually grian's fault for once.

mumbo dies in that tall tower and when lightning strikes, from all across the server, everyone looks. their eyes land on that tower, and everyone is watching. even in grian's perspective, you can see everyone at renwood mound, lined up and staring. those at the bamlands looked on too.

they didn't see mumbo die, but they saw grian's grief. grian, who, throughout this season, has seemed cruel and untouchable to those outside of his circle due to his involvement with and knowledge of the wild cards. they watch grian immediately crumble under the weight of mumbo's death; several of them even explicitly comment, "look at grian, he's grieving, he's in mourning."

i like to think that, until that moment, grian was almost god-like in their minds; now, though, he's the quintessential concept of humanity. grief can be religious if you do it right, after all. even beyond the grian aspect though, isn't this just the most despairing omen of what's to come?

i mean, there's something about this image of a man fallen from grace, crying out as he holds the mangled corpse of his friend in the home they made together, high in the sky, on display for all the world to bear witness to. and the world did bear witness, be it with pity, horror, joy... it doesn't matter, because they saw.

This... this is a whole different kind of psychic damage here. When nightmares got Marcille, we get to knew that her's biggest fear is outliving her friends. Southport Strong Together Appeal - organised by the community foundation for Merseyside, for those affected by the Southport knife attack

United for Southport families - the funds will be distributed among the nine families of the children who were at the party

Swifties for Southport - a fundraiser for the Alder Hey Children's charity, which supports the victims and the affected families, as well as first responders and clinicians. Extra funds will also support the wider Southport community

Fundraiser for the Southport Mosque - a fundraiser to aid rebuilding or possibly re-locating the Southport Mosque after the damages it suffered during the riots

Rebuilding Windsor Mini Mart - fundraiser to rebuild the locally-owned grocery store that was targeted during the attacks, broken into, and looted

Liverpool:

Fundraiser for the Spellow Hub - the Spellow Hub was broken into, looted and set on fire at night during the riots. The Spellow Hub is a newly created one-of-a-kind (in the UK) institution, which consists of a library as well as a community centre with a mission to help people get education and pathways to work

Books for Spellow Lane - another fundraiser for the library in the Spellow Hub, to replace the books and rebuild the library there edit: included the correct link

Hartlepool:

Fundraiser for the Nasir Mosque - the Nasir Mosque was attacked following Southport riots; this fundraiser is organised by Hartlepool citizens to help the mosque deal with the damages as well as to show appreciation for the role of the mosque in the community. edit: the funds will be also distributed to the local community!

Rebuilding the Farm Shop - the shop was targeted during the riots, and when the owner and his son tried to protect it, they were also violently attacked. The fundraiser is to help fix the damages to the store.

Sunderland:

help rebuild Citizens Advice Sunderland offices after arson - two of the Citizens Advice Sunderland offices were set on fire during the riots, and one of them is completely destroyed.

Hull:

Hull Help for Refugees - a local fundraiser to support the Hull Help for Refugees charity, the donated money will be re-distributed to community members affected by the riots

Fundraiser for Hull Help for Refugees and Welcome House in Hull - collected money will be donated to the two charities

Belfast:

help fix racially motivated damages - originally the fundraiser for the Sahara Shisha Cafe which was targeted by the far right in Belfast during the riots, now a fundraiser for all affected businesses in the area. edited to reflect the change of the name of the fundraiser to avoid any confusion

Middlesbrough:

Supporting residents after the riots - Middlesbrough has suffered so much during the riots, lots of businesses as well as just regular family homes were vandalised, had their windows smashed or even were broken into. This fundraiser wants to distribute the funds between affected people to help them fix the damages, and to generally support the local community. the newest fundraiser, imo potentially the most urgent one

Fundraiser for a Care worker's car which was set on fire - a car belonging to an employee of a care agency was set on fire during the riots while he was on shift at a care home.

If you want to donate locally but there is no fundraiser to support where you live, consider donating to your local charities oriented towards Muslim or PoC communities, or towards anti-racist and refugee organizations! And go support your local Muslim/Arab/Black/Asian/Refugee owned businesses!
