Determined and head strong, can out-stubborn the Batman, has a strong moral-backbone and does what he thinks is right regardless of what anybody else says, Robin. Jason who was sassy and quippy and made crude jokes with a smile on his face. Jason who hid in Bruce's cape and whispered gossip to him. Jason who, if Bruce refused him something, could keep bothering endlessly until Bruce caved. And also dramatic Jason. If Bruce tells him no, it becomes a whole theatrical show; a monologue, a narration, embellishments, and falling onto the floor in his grief upon the fact his cruel father has denied him once again.

(Jason who has suffered through abuse and homelessness and poverty and starvation, who is the Fight out of Fight or Flight, who's built up defenses and walls and when pushed and triggered responds with the thing that's always protected him; anger. He's sweet and kind and funny, and when he sees a pimp hitting a prostitute he gets furious and responds with violence.)

You are truly fascinating person. You look at OP so differently than most Reddit or Tumblr fans I encountered. There were two types of usual consensus I noticed about 1082.

1. Shanks is 100% correct and Buggy was just being idiotic with his idea. It’s good he left.

2. Poor Buggy, I hope they will be besties again. I’m sure Shanks would understand him and be so sad about what happened.

i try to be thoughtful about what we know about these characters—their thoughts and feelings, the things we as readers know they know, the things we know they don’t know, and the great big void of unknown unknowns (things they might know that we don’t know about, things we don’t know that they also don’t know, etc.). i hope it helps me to look at conflicts between characters with less bias.

(…though it would help if we got even half as much insight into shanks’ thoughts as buggy’s. i sometimes think we’ve seen more of buggy’s thoughts than shanks’ spoken words.)

Im high out of my mind again, and I just remembered something I talked to Owen about where, like the semi modern fantasy concept of Pride reaches Teyvat and so there's cute little cultural Pride festivals all over the plac every year.

Momma doesn’t want her opinions of my dad to change my views on him, yet in reality, my respect for him had diminished two ish years ago when he didn’t trust my mom with something they were both being secretive about, but as the smart and eldest daughter I was able to piece it all together.
